oh boy !! ! ! ! !!! ! thANK y0u all for the kind words on my last art posts. you all get it and i was/still am so happy about it
as promised, here's some close-ups of the comic for image quality's sake, and other screenshots i rescued from the community whiteboard (and something else)

even when i wasn't confident in fur or feathers, they helped me practice posing and create some satisfying gradients/flowing poses. (im a sucker for good tail poses) (oh yay! i found a good pic...)

and finally, little sneak peak for you for reading so far ;3
i realized that whiteboardfox is pretty great for my working needs. simple and to the point and all. feels nice with the mouse and the tablet.
so i started hashing out a big project idea just to see if it holds up and

Shinomori is cute. Here's a post.
He is so baby-faced. He hasn't changed at all since he was 22, to when he died of "old age" at 40
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Old age? With a face like that? 40 years old?? Gimme that kind of youth and hotness Shinomori-)
He has tiny eyebrows. Like a puppy's (rottweiler's, for example). So cute and tiny and fuffy
Tumblr media
He naturally frowns. Look at him and his mouth and his lil nose
Tumblr media
He has a thing about keeping his arms near his chest. He sits with his arms crossed, introduces himself with his hands over his torso, and even walks with his arms crossed toward Midoriya
He has such clear skin for someone who lived the rest of his life in a forest??? Why do Hikage and Yoichi have such nice skin despite living in terrible environments? (forest and vault + abandoned streets respectively)
Is easily scared
Tumblr media
They knew their Quirks could be used, but Shinomori got scared of it when it happened. Even though he gave Midoriya his support and access to his Quirk beforehand. Depending on the translation; "it startled me", "you scared me", "it surprised me"
I'm not going to hold running from AFO against him because he knew he was running for his life. Who wouldn't run for their life when it's in danger? Shinomori was being chased by the strongest person in the country (and likely the world)
His sense of self-preservation is probably heightened by the nature of his Quirk to keep him out of danger too. Which makes him all the more sensitive and jumpy to danger and anything that startles him, especially when he has no warning
He's actually extremely tall, but is so socially inept and jumpy it's adorable. He's taller than Bruce.
Tumblr media
Bruce is as tall as a vault door that the 2m AFO used.
Tumblr media
(Meanwhile Kudo is down there-)
He has such a bad sense of humor that it's cute (his puns off Danger Sense)
It's also adorable how Shinomori just doesn't understand social conventions sometimes. He lived in a forest, so it made sense, but also— Midoriya shows up in the void to the vestige platform for the first time. He has no mouth, no clothes—and Shinomori's first idea is to stand in front of him menacingly and go: "I shall explain. I am Shinomori Hikage." SIRRRR
This.
Tumblr media
His Ability is basically like glorified anxiety. What if something is coming to hurt him? If something can hurt him? What if that tree falls while he's under it? And the ideas come so hard they hurt (although yes, it does detect ill intent and that's what sets it off)
He talks weirdly. Formal? Old-fashioned? Listening to him speak Japanese compared to others, it just sounds a bit different. (Translated subs don't show it very well, it's the voice itself methinks)
"This too, is destiny." *about Midoriya having OFA*
Kinda wise or sage-y. He did spend his life in solitude in the forests so he definitely spent a lot of time with his own thoughts. Maybe he found the meaning of life in a centipede or something one day
For someone so cute, he is also such. A fine. Specimen???
Tumblr media
Look at those back muscles, dang.
Tumblr media
LOOK AT HIS CALVES AND ARMS DANG.
#i dont think shinomori was part of the resistance considering the resistance fought the society AFO was making#and shinomori wanted to avoid society and thus hid away#but i do think bruce knew shinomori because he gave him ofa before he went to fight AFO and die#and afo doesnt seem to know hikage. if he did he wouldve found and killed him. but hikage is never in afos memories#yknow what shinomori needs some appreciation too#vestiges need more attention#also i always put shinomori dealing with bruces remnants in my fics so he needs some appreciation for that#like the kids dumped on him#shinomori received OFA at 22 years old. he was around bruces age methinks#hes not some kid the resistance took in. the resistance didnt take in kids anyway#or at least we dont see them#well fic stuff banjo has the time of his life with en wrangling kid hermits that dont know what electricity is#mha#bnha#boku no hero academia#my hero academia#spoilers#hikage shinomori#ofa#one for all#ANYWAY hikage is ADORABLE and needs attention#just LOOK AT HIM#id have put this post out sooner but getting the pictures is always hard cuz popups or videos not working#i like shinomoris english voice actor. i dont stick around to hear anyone elses because i died when midoriya turned into a kid in the dub#i could probably make a list like this and bruces for the rest of the vestiges#yoichis small waist lovely skin and that he probably knows how to wrap kudo and bruce around his finger?#his “my heroes” and smiling as he goes “now now you two..”? kudos low voice and nice arms and SHORTNESS?#en going “senpai” and sitting on his chair like that? looking like he exudes gremlin energy? did he get carried around by banjo and nana?#it looks like he wouldve CMONN#i didnt include it in here cuz image limit but shinomori has big hands and feet (tag limit)

Hi ! Do you have any finnish music recommandations ? Feel free with the genre I'm quite open. I love discovering music in other languages but I'm always worried the lyrics will be saying something really terrible 😆
Hi! I'm all for spreading Finnish music, so of course! Just a fair warning, this ended up quite lengthy... Sorry about that. 😅 Here's a tl;dr version just in case you don't feel like reading about all the genre gushing and lyrical details, I couldn't help myself haha:
Pop, schlager and rock songs:
Ram Pam Pam by BESS
Tinakenkätyttö, Kaunis rietas onnellinen, and Supernaiset by Kaija Koo
Lähtisitkö by Pave Maijanen
Hei Rakas by BEHM
Soutaa Huopaa and Saatilla by Elokuu
Henkilökohtaisesti by PMMP, as well as their albums Leskiäidin Tyttäret and Kovemmat Kädet (content warning on these, if you end up reading translations of the lyrics, some of the songs on these albums deal with some heavy topics!)
Pauhaava sydän, Hetkeksi en sulle rupia, and Suudellaan by Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu
Marmoritaivas by Johanna Kurkela
Suru on kunniavieras by Jenni Vartiainen (though her entire discography is phenomenal)
Che Guevara by Happoradio
Kaikki mitä mä annoin by Uniklubi
Samantekevää by Tiktak
Ikuinen Virta by Indica
Joutsenlaulu by Yö
Metal (or heavier) songs:
Hengitä by Turmion Kätilöt (content warning again, some of this band's songs have quite spicy lyrics, though I'd say a good portion of those songs are satirical. This song in particular doesn't have any questionable lyrics haha)
Laiva by Merta
Syvyydet by Vorna
Armo by Apulanta
Hope you find something you like among these!
Now for the longer answer lol:
For modern pop songs, there's no better place to start than Ram Pam Pam by BESS. The song has become a bit of a Eurovision darling despite the fact that it lost in the Finnish Eurovision national final, the UMK, and thus didn't compete in 2022. The song bears influence of Finnish pop and schlager (in Finnish this genre is called "iskelmä") artist Kaija Koo's songs, which tend to have empowering messages. If you want to listen to Kaija Koo's music, I'd recommend the songs Tinakenkätyttö, Kaunis rietas onnellinen, and Supernaiset.
A song that I have a personal soft spot for is the 80's summer banger Lähtisitkö by Pave Maijanen. It's a corny love song, but that's exactly why it's so great. 🥰 While we're on the topic love songs, there's also Hei Rakas by BEHM, which has very sweet and genuine lyrics and absolutely gorgeous instrumentals. (As a side note, this song is somewhat connected to Eurovision as well, as BEHM performed the song live during UMK 2020 as an interval act).
If you're interested in pop songs that use traditional Finnish instruments in them, I'd recommend both Soutaa Huopaa and Saatilla by the band Elokuu. These songs mix traditional Finnish instruments and the traditional Finnish dance music genre humppa (similar to waltz and foxtrot music) with Finnish schlager music and rap. In that sense, these songs are somewhat similar to Käärijä's Cha Cha Cha, as they mix schlager with rap, though the vibes are completely different. 😂 There's also Henkilökohtaisesti by PMMP, which uses a mix of traditional Finnish instruments and modern genres. As a matter of fact, I'd recommend the entirety of PMMP's album Leskiäidin Tyttäret, where Henkilökohtaisesti is included, as well as another album called Kovemmat Kädet. Though as a fair warning, many of the songs on these albums touch on very heavy topics. There's also the band Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu, which blended traditional folk elements with schlager and rock. Their lyrics also utilise the Finnish Pohjanmaa dialect, adding onto the folk -feel of their music. Most of their songs are love songs, my personal favourites from their catalogue are Pauhaava sydän, Hetkeksi en sulle rupia, and Suudellaan. There's also the song Marmoritaivas by Johanna Kurkela, another very beautiful love song with some more traditional sounding elements to it. Fun fact about Johanna, she's also an ex UMK contestant who didn't make it to Eurovision! Moreover, Suru on kunniavieras by Jenni Vartiainen doesn't necessarily use any traditional instruments, but resembles old Finnish music in terms of specific vocals and some of the lyrics.
Of course I also have to bring up Finnish metal and rock music. Some of my personal favourite metal songs in Finnish are Hengitä by Turmion Kätilöt (who tend to have quite... interesting lyrics), Laiva by Merta and Syvyydet by Vorna. Hengitä and Laiva are both songs about mental illness. For less heavy music, there are the likes of Happoradio and Uniklubi, for specifically all-female acts there are Tiktak and Indica. As a starting point for these bands, I'd recommend Che Guevara by Happoradio, Kaikki mitä mä annoin by Uniklubi, Samantekevää by Tiktak (fun fact this was my absolute favourite song as a kid) and Ikuinen Virta by Indica. I feel slightly obligated to also recommend the songs Joutsenlaulu by Yö and Armo by Apulanta, as both are arguably culturally significant songs. Joutsenlaulu is a reflection on mortality and a song about loss (playing into the typical Finnish artist's obsession with death as an artistic motif), while Armo could be interpreted as a song about the Winter War (a war between the Soviet Union and Finland that took place during the World War II and has shaped Finnish culture immensely). There's also a very beautiful choir cover of the song Armo, called Konflikti (Armo). This version was featured in a movie about Apulanta. Sadly, Joutsenlaulu is not available on Spotify anymore (or any other streaming services for that matter). Funnily enough, Joutsenlaulu was originally meant to be a candidate for the Eurovision song contest of 1984, but the idea was scrapped after its composer came to the realisation that he couldn't possibly keep the length of the song under three minutes. Anyway, here's a link to the song on YouTube, just in case the links above don't work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=URDrfH2Rbbg&ab_channel=FinSongs

The Forgotten (Don't Look in the Basement, 1973)
"Perhaps I shouldn't have come here at all."
"I don't think there's any point in our talking about your leaving, Miss Beale. You forget, you were very anxious to take this job. I made special provisions for you to be here."
"I realise that, but I don't know what to do!"
"I'm the doctor and you're the nurse, and what I do decides what you will do!"
#the forgotten#don't look in the basement#blood tw#horror film#american cinema#video nasty#s.f. brownrigg#tim pope#rosie holotik#bill mcghee#annabelle weenick#gene ross#betty chandler#harryette warren#jessie lee fulton#robert dracup#michael harvey#jessie kirby#hugh feagin#camilla carr#rhea macadams#properly dingy DIY horror filmmaking. when you consider this was just the year before Texas Chain Saw Massacre‚ the gulf in ability and#execution between two contemporary indie horror shockers that both ended up on the video nasty list is.. staggering really#pretty clearly shot on short ends‚ this suffers badly from just what a budget production it is; real shoddy cheapo hours here‚ and it#bleeds through in every scene and in every aspect of this film. an obvious plot and a plodding script do nothing to help and honestly this#is low grade stuff but if it has one saving grace it's the spirited performances of an almost entirely unknown cast. these actors are#giving it everything and honestly they deserved a better project to be a part of: Holotik is a little shaky at first but comes into her own#during the frantic madness of the final act‚ McGhee manages to make something genuinely likeable and sympathetic of a potentially very#tactless role as a victim of lobotomy; most of all it's Gene Ross as the disturbed Judge‚ whose desperate struggle with his own repressed#humanity and discomfort with human interaction is actually beautifully played in a series of affecting moments

if so do you have any book recommendations? I feel like you would read good books
oh fuck yeah okay. disclaimer. i don't oft get the chance to read and when i do read it's usually only a few books i really like. heres some that i can recall
House of Leaves (Mark Danielewski) for LIFE it is SO good. very confusing sometimes but throughout it creates this energy that is so eerie. and sad. and loving and very painful. i will never stop thinking about it i will never stop holding will navidson in my head. also the layout/formatting of the book is WILD and i am such a sucker for books with fun formatting (see also: this guy was obsessed with Letters From Camp and Regarding the Fountain by Kate Klise). like if you've never checked out house of leaves it is a great time right now. the pages are all over the place. good fucking god i love house imagery
Holes (Louis Sachar) - yeah kind of a simple straightforward book but it means a lot to me. i like it very much it reminds me of being quite young. i like how it binds together a lot of current struggles. i like how all plotlines intersect it is like how all humans are connected in some ways throughout history
Stone Butch Blues (Leslie Feinberg) - you can find a FREE pdf here and it is VERY. very good. very personal. nearly made me cry heed the warnings for content. described experiences that i have never considered but understand. feels like being broken into bits and put together with pieces missing.
The Graveyard Book (Neil Gaiman) - similar to Holes in that it is not the Most Complex book, but still an interesting read. i like how warm it feels. i like how the supernatural elements are put plainly and never really dramatised too much it's similar to the tone of Coraline but less focus on the horror more just like. the story happens to be very comfortably swaddled in the horror. mudane-ing the strange. very neat
Not Necessarily Books, But Good Short Stories: There Will Come Soft Rains (Ray Bradbury) , I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream (Harlan Ellison) (also consider checking out the radio drama)

I almost didn’t catch this one @busylivinnow!
Again, I could put SO many things on this list, but I’m going to limit myself to books that made a big impression or that I’ve continued to think about over the years.
1) Great Expectations, Charles Dickens. I’ve read it at least four times and I’ve seen most of the movie adaptations (which never measure up). There’s just something about Pip, so desperate to be loved and accepted and going about it in exactly the wrong way. (Also, come on. Miss Havisham and her super toxic influence on Estella is so compelling.)
2) The Long Walk, Stephen King (originally under Richard Bachman). This one I’ve read at least a dozen times. At least. It’s very reminiscent of Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery,” but we get a much longer, much slower descent into the consequences of that sort of system. It’s so beautifully and horribly accomplished. I don’t think I’ve ever managed to read it without crying.
3) The Things They Carried, Tim O’Brien. This is a collection of short stories about the Vietnam War, based on his own experiences. (One of several, I think. He had lots to say on this subject.) The Vietnam War is one of those historic events I find so perplexingly awful. The fact that you could sit in front of the news at night with your family waiting to see if your birthday (or your brother’s or your boyfriend’s) was called. That we sent sweet, 18-year-old boys with no life experience to die or be traumatized against their will. That’s so dark and dystopian.
4) The Road, Cormac McCarthy. Speaking of dark and dystopian, this post-apocalyptic quest story crosses my mind often. There’s a scene where he finds a coke while scavenging and lets the boy have it. Because he’s never had one before and likely never will again. Not an uncommon idea for that genre, but the execution was very good and the language of the book is highly stylized, almost like a very long poem. That scene comes back to me sometimes.
5) City of Girls, Elizabeth Gilbert. It’s got 1940s fashion, sex, the New York theater scene, and the very smart, dry humor Elizabeth Gilbert is SO good at. I’ve read this one twice so far, but I’m sure I’ll read it again.

for the honesty hour thing but also not a really juicy question i suppose lol. favorite bl of 2024 so far? can list a top 5 if you like.
all questions are very much appreciated so please don’t worry about it, anon!!!!!!
although im only now fully realizing just how few BLs i’ve been watching in this first half of the year and how even fewer are the ones i’ve actually enjoyed from beginning to end, so. im afraid this is gonna be a very short top 3 list ;;;;;;;; but here we go!!!
love for love's sake. i have to admit im not as in love with this show as much as everyone else is, however it's undeniable that this is a fantastic series with a very refreshing concept. i actually think it's one of the very few shows that would have benefited from being longer, but the execution still worked out great and the seamless transition between the cute high school romance and borderline psychological thriller in some of the episodes is extremely well crafted. it also has very likeable characters and even if i went through an extreme case of second male lead syndrome because of sang won, the romance is pretty cute.
cherry magic (thailand). i know that technically it's a 2023 show HOWEVER it ended in 2024 and i was able to binge this only recently so. IT COUNTS OKAY. and even if i didn't really talk about it i enjoyed the show a lot!!!! i am not the biggest fan of remakes, but i personally ended up liking this more than the original japanese adaptation, and while im a bit disappointed with how they treated pai's character, they also fixed a lot of the things i wasn't very fond of about the two pairings, especially the side one. not to mention my man p'x once again refused to go down the 11 episode curse route which is just so damn refreshing in this day and age im willing to forgive him some missteps.
boys be brave. another recent binge and i LOVED this one, the only reason im putting it in third place is because i would have gladly done without the side couple (very unpopular opinion, i know) and the show wasn't as cohesive as i would have liked at times, but im so ridiculously fond of the main pairing, both jin woo and ki sub are such incredibly fascinating characters and i really enjoyed the progress in their relationship. i also spent the first half of the show laughing my ass off and the second half bawling my eyes out, and this tonal shift could have been very jarring if done wrong but the actors delivered it so well it all felt completely natural.
+bonus.
23.5. i just wanted to add it because even if it's a GL and it fumbled a little in the last few episodes, it's still one of the shows i enjoyed the most in the first half of the year and i miss my girls daily.
