The Rookie: Feds
I started watching the show this morning on Hulu. I watched the first two episodes and am already enjoying it. The crazy stuff that Niecy Nash's character does, makes me laugh like crazy. I also really enjoy her friendship with Kevin Zegers' character.
Side note: I enjoyed the crossover with Nolan and Chenford, I think? From The Rookie. I may have to give that show another try.

Note
What are your S6 chenford predictions?
I don’t have any predictions really just have some wants.
Chenford domestic and kisses and dates and kicking bad guys asses together etc
I want some kind of heart stopping moment not necessarily another DOD but for either Tim or Lucy to be in danger, and the other, losing their absolute fucking minds either trying to find or rescue the other.
Chenford and Wopez double date
I really want Nolan to go through something dramatic/traumatic. It’s been easy-going for him for a little too long now. I want either Bailey to get shot at their wedding or for her to leave him at the altar.
I need Lucy to pass her detectives exam and get her promotion that she’s way overdue
I need Aaron to be alive
And what I would really like is for them to go back to the old TO way of The Rookie OG TOs because that was something that really irritated me in season five was how Nolan allowed Celina to kind of run over him some and not follow directions or orders. That was the main reason I really did not like Feds was because of how the lead character just came in like she had been doing this for decades, and none of these other seasoned agents thought of any of this, and she just disobeyed orders and just did what she wanted to. Like I know, it’s a TV show, but at least make it somewhat realistic in that aspect and not have the rookie coming in and running everything
I want Tim’s mom to be alive and her to meet Lucy
I want Tim to meet Lucy’s parents and for them to of course have an issue with him being a cop and her former superior, not like her decision to make detective/UC and then not because Lucy can’t stick up for herself, but I want Tim to go off on her parents
And finally, I want Chenford to move in together, and I want us to see them talking about this not just them be living together and we’ve never had them mention it before like it doesn’t have to be some long drawn out thing just a little cute domestic conversation

Interest Rate Announcements: The Game Changer Most Traders Misunderstand Picture this: you’re in a crowded marketplace, each trader anxiously awaiting the next big reveal. But instead of bidding on rare trinkets, we're talking about the ultimate market-moving news—interest rate announcements. Now, before you break out in a sweat just thinking about how to adjust your positions, let’s break this down. Imagine it's like buying shoes on sale—sometimes you snag the perfect pair, but other times, you end up with something you’ll regret (like those platform sneakers from 2003). How you allocate your capital during these pivotal moments can mean the difference between grabbing a great deal or stumbling into a costly mistake. So how do you turn interest rate announcements into your secret advantage? Buckle up (without the clichés) because today, we’re diving into the unseen forces at play, revealing hidden opportunities, and mastering capital allocation techniques that most traders overlook. Why Most Traders Get Interest Rate Announcements Wrong Interest rate announcements are the Fed's equivalent of dropping a plot twist in a well-loved TV show—sudden, shocking, and guaranteed to cause a reaction. Traders scramble, the markets sway like a bad romance, and somewhere in the chaos, fortunes are made and lost. Yet many traders treat these announcements like a coin flip—“heads, I win; tails, I’m going broke." The truth? Interest rate announcements are not just about whether rates rise or fall; it’s about understanding how to allocate capital smartly amid the mayhem. Here's where it gets juicy. Many traders make the rookie mistake of going all in, letting the excitement blind them like a deer in headlights. What they miss is how a few ninja tactics in capital allocation can significantly boost their success rate. The difference between you and the average trader? They make reactive decisions; you’ll learn to make strategic ones. Capital Allocation: The Formula Only Experts Use So, how do the pros do it? It's like crafting a winning recipe—a dash of preparation, a sprinkle of intuition, and a whole lot of adaptability. Capital allocation is less about betting the farm and more about managing risk like a master chef seasoning his dish. Here are some advanced tips: - Diversify by Rate Expectations: When an interest rate announcement is approaching, consider spreading your risk across different asset classes. Don’t just focus on one currency pair; think about bonds, commodities, or even indices that could react to the announcement. For example, if a rate hike is expected, the USD might surge, but also consider how gold might react as a safe-haven asset. - Position Sizing Based on Volatility: One mistake I’ve seen time and again is traders keeping their position sizes constant, regardless of the potential market impact. Instead, adjust your position sizes based on the anticipated volatility. Interest rate announcements often spike volatility; reducing your position size can prevent you from getting wiped out by market whipsaws. - Stagger Entry Orders: Think of this tactic as a well-planned entrance at a fancy party. You don’t want to show up all at once—instead, stagger your entry orders. Set multiple pending orders at different levels around key price points, allowing you to catch favorable entry prices while mitigating risk if the market goes haywire after the announcement. Hidden Patterns That Drive Market Moves During Announcements Most traders are either glued to their screens, hoping for the best, or they've already flipped a coin and are praying. Meanwhile, the experts have identified certain hidden patterns that tend to unfold around interest rate decisions. For instance: - The Pre-Announcement Drift: This is where currencies begin to price in the anticipated decision before it even happens. The market's tendency to "pre-price" information offers a unique opportunity—entering early if you have solid insight can mean riding the move long before the masses catch on. - The Spike and Fade: Imagine this like a child throwing a tantrum, only to calm down after realizing that candy isn’t on the menu. Interest rate announcements often cause sudden, exaggerated moves—a spike in one direction—which is followed by a fade back to more reasonable levels. Knowing this pattern lets you avoid panic buying/selling and positions you to profit as the market settles. Capital Allocation and Interest Rates: Emotions Meet Empathy I get it. The rush of adrenaline as the announcement hits, the second-guessing, the feeling that you might miss out if you don’t hit that button right now—been there, done that. The key to surviving these emotional swings? Capital allocation paired with rock-solid risk management. Here's the thing: emotions are powerful, but they can work against you if you let them rule your decisions. Instead of panicking, use capital allocation as your safety net. If you allocate only a portion of your capital for high-risk moves and another part for hedging or safer assets, you can trade with confidence, knowing you won’t be left with nothing if things go south. Why Capital Allocation Is Your Best Friend During Rate Announcements Here’s an analogy—think of capital allocation during interest rate announcements like wearing a seatbelt during a rollercoaster. You can scream your head off, but you’re secure, knowing that belt is there to keep you safe. The way you allocate your capital is that seatbelt. - Hedging Positions: Use hedging to protect your main positions. For example, if you’re long on EUR/USD, consider taking a small short position in a correlated asset, like EUR/GBP, to help cushion against unexpected movements. - Scalping Opportunities: Interest rate announcements often cause rapid price movements, which can be ideal for scalping—provided you’ve allocated capital specifically for this strategy. Set aside a small amount of your total capital purely for quick in-and-out trades during the initial reaction phase. Why Conventional Wisdom on Interest Rates Is Holding You Back Let’s bust a myth while we’re at it: many think that only the direction of the interest rate change matters—higher rates are bullish for the currency, lower rates are bearish. But that’s not the whole picture. Often, the market has already priced in the expected decision, meaning the actual reaction can be the opposite of what you'd expect. Case Study: The Interest Rate Surprise of 2023 Remember the ECB’s rate hike surprise in June 2023? While most traders were piling into EUR longs expecting a strong rally, what followed was a classic "buy the rumor, sell the news" situation. The Euro shot up for a few minutes, only to tumble as traders took profits. The winners in this scenario? Those who had a smart capital allocation plan—those who went in expecting volatility but didn't bet the house on one direction. The Smart Trader’s Playbook: Exclusive Tools You Need Want to really up your game? You’ll need tools designed to help you make informed decisions when volatility spikes. That’s where we come in: - Get Real-Time Updates: Stay informed on upcoming interest rate announcements and other key economic news that might affect capital allocation. Check out our latest updates at StarseedFX Forex News Today. - Expand Your Strategy Arsenal: Learn advanced capital allocation strategies and how to apply them during economic events with our Free Forex Courses. - Trade with Confidence: Use our Free Trading Plan to set clear goals and avoid emotional trading during big announcements. Mastering the Chaos with Capital Allocation Interest rate announcements are wild—there’s no sugarcoating that. But with the right capital allocation strategy, you can approach these moments not with fear, but with confidence. Think of your capital as soldiers—you’re not sending them all into battle at once. Instead, some are on the front lines, others are in reserve, and some are there to hold the ground you’ve already gained. Now it’s your turn. Use these strategies to gain the upper hand. Allocate wisely, stay cool under pressure, and remember—the market rewards those who have a plan, not those who just react. Got questions, thoughts, or your own ninja tactic to share? Drop it in the comments below. Let’s turn trading into a winning strategy—together! —————– Image Credits: Cover image at the top is AI-generated   Read the full article

Jealousy
Nick Bosa x Reader
Requested: yes
Warnings: smut. cursing. soft at the end.
Smut Prompt List: 24. Pay attention to me or I’ll make you
44. Jealous sex
“Hey babe?” Nick yells from the bedroom.
Nick has been upstairs getting ready for football practice and he’s trying to find one of his sweatshirts that he loves to wear. You love it on him but you also love to wear it also because it’s just so comfy.
“What?” You yell back.
“Where’s my sweatshirt?” He asks.
“Which one?” You ask.
“The grey one with the two stripes that go down the arms. I can’t find it anyw-.”He says stopping mid sentence coming out to the living room where you are and noticing that you have it on.
“Oh this one?” You ask pointing at his sweatshirt you have on.
“Yes that one but it’s fine I can go get another one.” He says
“No honey. Here take this one. I can go change into another one.” You say taking it off and giving to him.
He takes the sweatshirt from you as you go upstairs and grab a different one. As you walked back out, he gave you a soft smile and a kiss on the head. You had a few days off of work so you decided to give Nick a ride to practice just because and just to have an excuse to get out of the house. When you got home from dropping him off at the field, you decided to do a few things around the house before going back and picking him up.
A couple hours have gone by and you got a text from Nick saying that practice was over. You left to go get him and when you got there he wasn’t ready yet so you stood outside the car waiting on him. A couple of the players came walking out and saw you standing there. One of them was a rookie and didn’t know that you’re dating Nick. The rookie told his teammate that he was gonna go up to you and flirt with you and his teammate told him not to do that and that it’s not a great idea. The rookie blew him off and did it anyways.
“Hey beautiful. You look too pretty to be here by yourself. I think that we should go out on a date tonight if you’re free?” He says.
“You’re sweet but I’m sorry. I’m waiting on Nick and sorry to break this to you but I’m dating him.” You say chuckling.
“Nick? As in Nick Bosa? You’re dating him?” He asks.
“Yes I’m dating him.” You say laughing at his reaction.
“Oh okay.” He says a little disappointed.
Nick came walking out to you when the rookie was flirting with you. You can tell by the look on his face that he was getting a little jealous. Yeah the rookie was good looking but he wasn’t you’re type. The rookie walked away to his car as Nick walked up to the car.
“Hey baby. How was practice?” You say.
He doesn’t respond. He puts his stuff into the backseat and gets into the front seat. You roll your eyes at him and get into the drivers seat and drive home. It was a quiet and quick drive home. He gets his things and goes inside without saying a word to you.
“Nick will you please talk to me?” You ask a little irritated that he’s acting like this.
He looks up at you and looks back down at his phone. You let out a loud sigh and rolled your eyes at him again.
“Pay attention to me or I’ll make you.” You say.
Still nothing. You’re getting a little fed up with him at this point so you walk upstairs and change into a lingerie that’s his favorite on you and throw on one of his tshirts. You walk back downstairs into the kitchen where you left him and walk up to him and wrap your arms around him while laying your head against his shoulder.
You move to in front of him and start to kiss his neck while leaving a couple hickies. You run your hands down his torso and stop at the waist band of his jeans. He moans and it seems like he’s not as mad as he was before. He grabs your hips and sets you up into the counter and stands in between your legs. You kiss up his jaw and up to his lips.
You tug on his shirt and he gets the hint and takes it off. As he’s taking his shirt off, you unbutton his jeans and pull them and his boxers down. He kicks them off and takes your (his) shirt off of you and throws it on the floor with the rest of the clothes. He moans at the sight of you in the lingerie.
“Fuck baby. The things you do to me.” He says continuing to look you up and down.
“You gonna fuck me hard or are you going to keep staring?” You ask smirking at him.
He lets out a small moan and he rips it off of you.
“That was my favorite one.” You whine.
“I’ll buy you a new one baby but right now I want to fuck you so bad.” He moans.
He lines his cock up with your entrance and pulls you closer to him as he pushes into you. He keeps his hands on your hips and you put your hands on his back as you wrap your legs around his waist. You both moan loudly as your wrapped your legs around him.
“Fuck baby. Oh god you feel so damn good wrapped around me.” He moans leaning in to start kissing your neck.
You’re eyes roll back and you scream his name. He’s fucking you so good it’s unbearable. He lays you back into the counter as he’s still fucking into you. When you lay down, he holds both your hands and fucks you harder. This is a new angle for you both and you’re loving it because he’s hitting all the right spots and Nick let’s out a loud moan.
“Oh fuck baby. Oh god you fuck me so damn good. Filling me up so well. Oh hell daddy right there.” You moan loudly as he hit your sweet spot with every thrust.
“That’s it baby. Scream for me. Let it out. Let everyone know who’s fucking you so fucking good.” He moans pounding into you now.
You’re moaning so loudly and just a mess below him. He lets go of your hands and massages your breasts and twist and pinches your nipples. You feel yourself getting close and you know he is too.
“I’m gonna cum daddy.” You moan.
“I don’t know if you deserve to cum princess. Beg for it.” He moan letting out a chuckle.
“Oh daddy. Oh fuck. Please let me cum. I’ve been a good girl just for you. You’ve fucked me so damn good daddy. Please let me cum.” You moan clenching around him.
“Cum for me princess. Cover my cock in that sweet cum of yours. I’m gonna cum too.” He moans as you feel him twitch inside you.
“Cum inside me daddy. Give it to me baby.” You moan.
You moan loudly and cum around him as his thrusts slow down and he spills his thick load of cum inside you. He stays inside you for a minute before pulling out. You whine when he pulls out of you and you sit up.
“Fuck baby. That was fucking amazing.” You say letting out a little chuckle.
“Yes it was princess. You know, I love it when you call me daddy. You should call me that from now on when we fuck.” He says laughing.
“Sounds good to me daddy.” You say winking at him and laughing with him. “So I’m just curious but what happened with you earlier?” You ask.
“Well,” he laughs. “When I saw the rookie talking to you earlier after practice, it set a fire off in me and I guess I got jealous that he was flirting with you and that he was going to um take you from me. I don’t want to lose you baby. You’re the best thing that’s happened to me.” He says truthfully.
“Awe baby. You have nothing to worry about. He’s 110% not the one for me. I don’t want him like that. You’re the one I want for the rest of my life. I love you so much baby.” You say.
“Good because I love you so much more and I wanna spend the rest of my life with you. I can’t wait to marry you one day.” He says smiling and giving you a kiss while pulling you closer to him.
You smile into the kiss and giving him a hug at the same time. You love this man more than everything even when he gets on your nerves sometimes. He grabs his tshirt off the floor and hand it to you and you put it on. He grabs his boxers and puts them on.
“I can’t wait to marry you either.” You say smiling.
He grabs you off the counter and carry’s you out to the living room as you squeal. He sets you both on the couch and you guys watch tv while cuddling.

eight months in somebody actually asked me abt visualive instead of me immediately annoying ppl about it without former notice. I might actually write properly for once 😳😳😳
OK OK!!!!! In this essay I will.... I will.... Visualive Adachi.... Visu/BURSTS INTO TEARS/
OKAY OKAY for real I just care Visualive so much (as someone who can’t fully understand Japanese AHAHA)
First I’ll add some foundation about what Visualive really is, then I talk abt Adachi in the latter parts of it because this is technically the first time I’m properly talking about this hehe 🐿
T....table of contents???
Visualive
Visualive the Evolution
Masami Itou
Visualive Adachi
Visualive the Evolution Adachi
Terms and Legend
VL - Visualive
VLE - Visualive the Evolution
stage - shortened for “stageplay”
面白い - omoshiroi (it’s just that specific)
Yuuya - VL Hero name
Hayato - VLE Hero name
Baba - Hero
Masami - Adachi
Taniguchi - Dojima
Saotome - Daisuke
Mamiya - Izanami
I add honorifics but sometimes I forget the hyphen intentionally or unintentionally I’m sorry if it makes it hard to read lol
all links have automatic timestamps for easy viewing. i mean. i hope the timestamps work
VISUALIVE “Persona 4.” A stage adaptation of SMT: Persona 4 by Atlus. It adapts the first part of the story, from the hero’s arrival to after recovering Mitsuo Kubo from the TV world. It also ends on a cliff hanger, showing a teaser of Shadow Naoto being projected on the screen.
It takes up a speedy recapitulation of the hero’s spring life, before slowing down and showing in depth his school life in summer. A day before Morooka-sensei’s death, there is a little skit with Kou, Daisuke and Adachi. The hero walks into the conversation before the two other boys leaving, and Morooka-sensei walking in on the student and detective. The next day follow’s the teacher’s death and the Investigation Team (IT) begin investigating their new lead.
From the words “visual” and “alive,” the niche of this stage was meant to be the fusion of live acting and visual digital projections. All seen from the stageplay with the colorful cast of actors and CG animations being projected on the screen. This offers an opportunity for characters to summon their personas, perform cool visual effects, change the backdrop, or even confront their own Shadows.
Performed in Sunshine Theater from the 15th to the 20th of March 2012. The screenplay was written and directed by Shintaro Asanuma from the theatrical group “bpm.” The video production produced by Shutaro Oku, a film director and visual planner. He later takes over as director for VISUALIVE THE EVOLUTION, the sequel stage. The stage music was produced by Shunsuke Wada, with a special show exclusive vocal track sung by Shihoko Hirata.
On this note, I haven’t seen any sort of original soundtrack released for any of the stages and I’m SO SAD. The last song in Mitsuo’s boss fight was such a BANGER and literally EVERYTHING ELSE Marvelous, Wadasan please take my MONEY
Regarding the cast, there were some special accommodations for Teddie, Rise, and Nanako, all of which did not have live actors at the time. During the casting, actors for the three characters could not be found or simply left the directors unsatisfied they couldn’t cast anybody. An exception for Rise, who was able to have a live actor in the sequel stage. It has been stated that there weren’t any “pretty boy” actors that fit the “Teddie Criteria.” While there weren’t any child actors that were believed to portray Nanako well.
Teddie was only ever seen in his bear costume while Rise was busy talking through a call, all voiced by their video game cast. Nanako has never appeared on stage, only being scarcely mentioned in the script. Again, this is different in the sequel stage where her role was extremely important and was shown as a screen projection.
VISUALIVE “Persona 4” THE EVOLUTION. A sequel stage. Beginning abruptly in the middle of Shadow Naoto’s boss fight, the story continues from there until the “true end” of the game’s original story. *Certain characters are introduced while others have been reintroduced. And on a personal note, when it’s all comedic in the beginning, it’s all for what’s coming right after.
I don’t know if I’m salty or just find it really funny AHAHA I might go talk abt it some other day with more context ehehe
Performed in The Galaxy Theater from the 3rd to the 9th of October 2012, only a few months after the PSVITA Persona 4 Golden release, which is July 2012. The screenplay was now written by Jun Kumagi while directed by Shutaro Oku. And music production finally taken over by Shoji Meguro himself.
---
HAHAHA this is starting to look like a wiki page. moving on. I might start rambling rn
(warning LONG !!!! aaa,,)
My thoughts on the stage adaptations. For the first Visualive (VL) I believe it’s pretty close to canon! I enjoy the characterization and how much love and care was present when handling the entire production.
Actors were busy playing the game itself, wherein a PS2 was present in the practice room. Along with magazines and game guides explaining the game’s story and the characters itself. Actors performing together and even improv acting together to get a grasp of their characters. All of them knowing well of Persona 4 as a well loved game, delicately handling their characters and hopefully performing them right while making the audience happy.
The staff taking care of each other while the director and video producer, Asanuma-san and Oku-san, working together well to make their vision into a reality.
The same thing happened with VL the Evolution (VLE) and literally every other good stage. Except... I feel the script kinda got out of hand with too much liberty where it feels a bit more disconnected from canon. But! It makes up for it in its content, whether comedic or (INCREDIBLY) dramatic! It’s great as its own story at that point. So in this case, I like to take the first VL and get to connect it canon, while I don’t know what the hell happened in VLE to the point I’ll just enjoy it as its own content.
These opinions deserve its own essay, post whatever bc I have SO much to say abt this. ANYWAY. VL ADACHI
---
Tohru Adachi is portrayed by Masami Itou (伊藤マサミ), a screenplay writer, director and an stage actor himself. He does have a single character voice role along with a fellow troupe member in the same franchise, but mostly works as the former three. He is part of Asanuma-san’s entertainment group “bpm.” On a similar note, Masashi Taniguchi, Dojima’s actor, was also part of their group from 2011 to 2016, which may explain their good synergy as the boss and the bumbling fool dynamic. I mean, somebody’s gotta get hit in the head every few skits.
With Masami-san being an important part of the cast, he doesn’t appear as often as Taniguchi-san in backstage content like the VL bonus disk or the official blog. Mentioned in his own personal blog, he had been busy with his roles as assistant director (I am assuming also for VL).
Also fun to note, because his role is mainly comic relief, he has been using his liberty to change up the material almost everyday making each performance exciting. This also leaves some other actors jealous of his freedom in his role, such as Saotome-san, Daisuke’s actor.
---
VL Adachi really has a... how do I say this? an adorable speech pattern (THE SAME SPEECH PATTERN THAT DROVE ME MAD TRYING TO DECIPHER I THOUGHT YOU WERE A CITY BOY OSSU OSSU MY ASS /shakes you violently/). Overall, he really fits the loose lipped bumbling fool, and his accent really makes him seem more casual and invested. What I’m saying is... VL Adachi either actually has genuine empathy or he actually has more energy to fake it (compared to some other edgelord. i mean you saw my p4ga analysis. I’m sick of him lol ahaha).
One of my favorite ways to explain this (OTHER THAN CHAIR CAR ADVENTURE MY BELOVED WE’LL GET TO THAT LATER) is the rice field scene with him and Dojima. It’s overanalyzation time 🎉
youtube
(43:04)
While investigating, Adachi whines about being tired while Dojima smacks him in the head. In this case, it’s established that Adachi doesn’t want to be there, yes? It’s the country, it’s hot and it smells like green.
"Ah... Dojima-san..! Why don't we take a break? (...) There really is nothing out here... Is the criminal still even here at all? (...) I wonder if I've passed being a rookie yet. Haha, but this city doesn't even have convenient transportation. I can't go to leisure lands (recreation, amusement parks, arcades, ect.) and head home at all."
Adachi then tries to tell Dojima a story. “when I got to this city after being newly assigned, I met an interesting guy (...) Yeah, I remember that the cherry blossoms haven't bloomed yet. So, I was driving my car and got near the station and--” Dojima gets a phone call.
Adachi politely puts his hands down waiting for his boss to finish so he can finish the story. Again and again, Adachi attempts to talk to Dojima about a story he’s so persistent trying to tell someone about. It was so 面白い that he would find someone to talk to about it. Even being polite and patient enough to wait for a chance to speak. He even gets fed up with it and blows up in front of his boss, clearly irritated he’s not given a chance to talk.
Sure, it could be Adachi feeling fed up like a normal person where someone agreed he to listen to him, before being constantly ignored. Or Adachi trying to be a more annoying whiny brat, depending on where you look at it.
If the story wasn’t too “interesting” to Adachi, he would’ve just brushed it off and stopped talking to Dojima entirely, or start up new small talk, or even complain some more. But no, he had a story he wanted to voice out so bad that he got irritated that the one person in the vicinity couldn’t listen to him.
Only after Dojima told him to continue their investigation elsewhere did Adachi finally stop and focus on something else. Maybe that story was for another day, or maybe it was never meant to be told.
What if it was just original (game) Adachi? He’d find a way to squirrel out of the investigation as usual, or push Dojima to “investigate” elsewhere. “Hey boss, don’t you think it’s hot? Why don’t we go elsewhere? We’ve seen this place too many times to count and I doubt anything new’ll turn up. How about we take a break at Junes, y’know? Where it’s cool? C’mon boss,” something like that.
og Adachi is just really annoying and silly to me. Some grown man thinking he can freeload because he never gets anything out of putting in more energy and effort? I don’t care how tall he is, I will smack him in the head.
Yeah VL Adachi whines, too, but at least it doesn’t look like he’s going to escape and waste his time somewhere else. He just sucks it up stops trying to leave the situation.
Or maybe I’m getting this all wrong and VL is exactly the same and my rage just gets dampened because of Masamisan’s execution of character hmm...
SO. What was his story about anyway? The one he really wanted to share to Dojima?
I mean... it’s obvious enough
youtube
First day in town? Spring? Actually mentioned driving a car when literally out of every single persona 4 media at the time was there not a SINGLE mention of Adachi having a car OTHER THAN the same stageplay it’s being mentioned in?
A story, from somewhere around uhh four? five months ago? was something that he remembered so dearly and was willing to share despite it obviously embarrassing him even if he puts the blame on a certain somebody in the same story?
Or maybe it’s because he really had nothing to talk about ever since he realized all his stories from the city weren’t actually that funny or interesting in the first place.
BUT then that would mean out of all the things he could talk about—more whining, complaining, complimenting, small talk—he insisted about talking about this story in particular.
Okay, look. I’m just. Just. As someone who talks too much, of course I have things I actually want people to hear out of all the bullshit that comes out of my mouth. And if the thing I actually want people to listen to doesn’t even get heard, I’d go mad.
Sure, Adachi’d be fine when his complaints or intentionally unfunny jokes get brushed off. But a story of a guy that he thought was so funny, interesting, 面白い gets ignored, he really blew up, even just for a split second, maybe.
And ALL the things that happened in that story—on his first day in Inaba! His car got dented, he had to deal with a weirdo dumbass employee that knew zero personal space, yelled in his ear, who didn’t know how to do their job, got his station reputation messed up on the first day, got his ass grabbed, got (unintentionally?) mocked for his lame stories, and got his car dented for the SECOND time. Probably MORE
And he STILL wanted to talk about it /punches through concrete wall/
yes I’m overthinking about this of course i am
This little tidbit of VL Adachi kinda makes me go insane sometimes—his entire characterization in VL in particular. It was really refreshing to see and how they included both of his characters in it, his facade and how irritated he is of a lot of things underneath. And how flexible his character is immediately working with other characters when there’s sudden improv to balance the situation. Like him and Dojima, Morooka, the attendant, or even Yuuya (hero) himself.
I’ll take Taniguchi-san’s messing around in the VL bonus backstage disc in place of Masami-san being so busy he couldn’t appear in it as often as other characters.
For stagetime that lasted for fifteen minutes or less, my appreciation for VL Adachi, even if he was just comic relief, really rocketed. I say VL, bc Adachi the edgelord he’s supposed to be in literally every other media is something I analyze separately.
I haven’t even gotten to VLE oh my GODDDDD
Like I said, I don’t really regard VLE close to canon but as something to be appreciated for what it is by itself. But the way Adachi was characterized there, in or out of character, still struck me.
---
Yes, there was his strange fan-agreed-canon which is,,, now canon obsession with cabbages (not that that’s a bad thing lmao). There was also him being a lot more jumpy and intimate in a clowny way, patting people on the shoulder or even downright hugging them just to mess around. Even FORGETTING who the same goddam loser who grabbed his ass almost a year ago is. But like, can’t blame him they literally changed their actor (and screenplay writer) AHAHAHA
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ha... no more comedy, only dorky sword fights now
(speaking of sword fights I think it’s a fun thought how Mamiya-san [Izanami, also one of the youngest in the cast] admitted it was his first time doing sword fight choreography and even thanked Masami-san and other staff members for guiding him)
One thing unintentionally in character was Adachi accidentally nabbing the sushi overdosed in wasabi. Masami-san didn’t actually account for a joke sushi and didn’t immediately eat it—until Taniguchi-san (who also made Dojima go off his shits compared to VL) jokingly yelled at him and even riled up the audience for him to eat it. He even went off stage to get water just for him to eat the goddam sushi.
And Masami-san did! (kinda choked, but he’s fine).
Continuing from the same scene, while being overly giddy about sushi dinner (and I mean overly--he was singing about it while hopping to the Dojima residence), he tried to remind the two, Dojima and Hayato (hero), that Nanako was sleeping. Probably where she was sick if the scene was translated from the game.
youtube
(30:07)
And... the dramatic parts of VLE
Adachi was the one who reported to the IT that Dojima was chasing Namatame in the rain. While Naoto was discussing Namatame’s journal entries, Adachi, as giddy as he is, took it from Naoto’s hands and reveled in the discovery of evidence so childishly(?). He even ran to Dojima when he began regaining consciousness and immediately called the nurses to help him wheel Dojima to the ER.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, The Hospital Scene™️, right after Nanako flatlines.
youtube
(1:02:02)
Adachi, who recently walked into the scene, immediately worries about Dojima and IT who were ALL crying. He looks down, devastated—before yelling how Dojima’s heading to Namatame’s room.
He yells in terror and the same grief at his injured boss, all while running past and even jumping over children, who fell to the ground sobbing, to get to him. He continues yelling in a pained fashion while immediately reprimanding Dojima to stop. He gets carried by the collar before being tossed to the ground at Hayato’s feet, all while being pat by the same boy.
Dojima makes his speech about how unfair it is for the ‘killer’ to be alive when his daughter isn’t. When he finally falls to his knees, Adachi rises from the ground, humbly saying he’ll do his best to take care of Dojima (or something like that I’m in tears I literally can’t do VLE’s hospital scene i h8 this). He finally starts crying along with everyone else, being pushed away again but still tries again, trying to usher his boss away from the door.
With the help of the guard in front of the door, they all disappear off stage
please... I know this scene doesn’t need that much translation because of how important this scene is in the entire story. and I know my narratives aren’t enough so just,,,, just watch it please it’s so much more than this. everyone’s acting was just spectacular
youtube
(1:08:47)
So, after the IT (YOSUKE. JUST YOSUKE. good job Mae-chan) stop themselves from k wording Namatame, it was ADACHI who reported Nanako’s miracle recovery. He ran to the same corridor where they all cried in, even panting and falling to the ground in relief trying to report the good news. Then he pats Hayato on the shoulder and says he’s going to Dojima.
With this... /slaps roof of half of VLE/ ALL of this....adachi.... adachisan.... he Cares™️..... holy shit.....
now. comparing to the game. do you even remember what og Adachi did? did he.. even do anything?????
youtube
(56:39)
NO!!! he just stood there!!!! being a bumbling fool but.... inappropriately!!! man. he didn’t act concerned enough.
adachi: /walks into a bunch of kids crying outside a hospital room/ “lmao why tf are y’all crying? did uhhh what’s her face uhhh nanako. did she d word or something? rip, I guess lol” LIKE????? CAN YOU IMPLY FASTER
and then he’s like “wgat hmm Where’s Dojima-san Heading Because That’s Not The Way To His Room 🤔” and only when he’s asked he actually mentions he’s heading to Namatame’s room and still needs to get choked by a first year for the room number like..... zero consideration
and his boss??? where his daughter he loves so much just??? di*s???? and he’s so devastated he’s doing what he can that very moment while he’s so numbed of thinking of the consequences???? And adachi goes “uhh boss that’s illegal” LIKE. BITCH. /punches through a concrete wall but harder/
---
And??? His confrontation scene??? Like, I know they mashed it up w his tv confession scene to save stagetime for other scenes BUT IT WAS SO MMBMBMBMMGN /gestures in a good way/
youtube
(1:15:56)
UM?? guy behind everything??? in a vulnerable area where he could easily get physically assaulted bc hes not in the tv world w his persona?? Trash talks women like he absolute misogynist he is??? getting yelled at by a bunch of kids and YELLING BACK IN THE SAME AGITATED MANNER even TAUNTING THEM then and there to GET HIS ASS?????
og Adachi was such a pussy he got caught and just scurried off into the TV world where he ended up having powers like...ok....scared of getting beat down by a bunch of highschoolers unless you have powers...ok....
he only taunted them to get him when he was in the tv world too.....he rlly couldn’t say shit in the real world huh... lol
(yeah yeah this shows how VLE Adachi knew abt his TV world powers which would make you think if he ever went into the tv world and came back out alive. Or he’s really just a badass who doesnt give a shit abt anyone’s opinions and CAN beat anyone’s ass. i have a separate thing abt this but bc i like to laught at vle rather than overthink its own lore i might. not. idk lol)
and ??? VLE Adachi can??? He can swordfight??? he doesn’t even NEED a gun—he even reflects bullets w his blade (but apparently he can still get slapped by a flying fan more often than any other attack). His fight choreo was just...so poggers. He’s like short villains done good—like??? he’s short compared to everyone else!!! but he makes up for it for stuffing all the energy inside him while is bursts out making him him the over energetic gremlin he is!!! go VL adachi!!!!
(am I low key making fun of Madono-san in the TUUSH stageplay I’ve seen four minutes of? maybe)
OK!!! Yes I was gushing abt Masami-san again back to Adachi.
It’s portrayed that while not being afraid to admit his crimes, he also goes out of his way to be a bastard and have the gall to get a bunch of kids to fight him, one on eight. He can use a katana, probably a narrative dark reflection of the hero, Hayato which I thought was nice—and he can fight!!! It also shows his persona, yes, but...it doesn’t make it clear if he’s overwhelmed by his Shadow like in the game, where his eyes were yellow and he was emitting a dark aura.
But it gets interesting how he sees he’s getting overwhelmed and starting to lose his edge towards a bunch of kids. He falls to the ground even banging the floor like a whiny brat while literally the IT tries to tell him to turn himself in. Again, like a brat he tells everyone to shut up—before getting incapacitated. While some of the IT rejoice, he bolts up unaccepting of his defeat—before getting hit in the stomach.
youtube
(1:23:54)
And his words from when he drops his katana, “Why..?” He grabs the foldable chair against his stomach, and with a remorseful look in his eyes, he says “I’m sorry..!”
THEN HE BACKFLIPS—then Hayato slashes him.
In a tone of disbelief, he goes “no way...” and collapses to the ground, being possessed by Ame-no-Sagiri.
Blah blah blah then Teddie rockets himself into the eyeball spy cam and then they both explode aaaaa
Teddie survives but I really don’t know where Adachi went. Not even a mention by Dojima if he turned himself in or was ever found—or I need to review VLE for the 48274827482nd time hehe
WHOO then the whole cast appears for the dance number at the end of show YAHOO

Season 2 Awards
We’ve finished Season 2! Like last time, I thought it’d be fun to make a bracket of my favorite and least favorite moments, once again relying on Way Down in the Hole for the categories. So, without further ado, the best and worst of Season 2.
Best and Worst Boss: I’m going to give both of these to Frank Sobotka. There’s nobody more invested in the well-being of his union -- from bribing politicians to ratting on the Greeks to keep his men away from criminal charges, Sobotka was willing to do anything to protect IBS Local 1514. Over the course of the season, we see him be incredibly generous with union workers, gifting them cash when they’re in a hard spot, and drinking with them at the local bar. But Frank is also the reason that police attention falls on the union; while you can’t blame him for Stan Valchek’s personal grudge, he’s absolutely blameworthy for getting in deep with a criminal organization. Ultimately, Frank was too short-sighted to be a good boss, and his insistence in maintaining the status quo rather than looking for ways to adapt was ultimately his downfall. Of course, his downfall also cost the union its freedom -- in the final montage of S2E12, we see that IBS has been taken over by the feds.
Best Couple: My favorite couple is one that never happened -- Frank and Beadie (making my case: 1, 2). I’m a sucker for yearning looks, and there were definitely some looks traded between the union boss and local cop. They seemed to genuinely care about each other, beyond a friendly smile at the port or in the bar. One of the most memorable scenes of Season 2 is when Beadie confronts Frank and asks him to talk to the cops. Frank confesses to her that he thought he was doing the wrong thing for the right reasons, and Beadie says, “There are different types of wrong.” I feel like they could’ve been a couple that mutually supported each other -- Frank the stable union presence for Beadie’s kids, giving Beadie more flexibility to find the career she’s looking for. Alas, the Greeks ruined that one for me.
Worst Couple: Nick Sobotka and Aimee. Nick just isn’t ready to settle down. He isn’t making enough money to support a family, and while he loves his child he isn’t enough of a presence to be there for her. Not to mention, he abandons Aimee in his parents’ home and spends the night with Prissy rather than seeking comfort from his significant other. Aimee deserves better than this man who brought trouble onto himself, and consequently made her life more difficult (the three of them got dragged into Witness Protection thanks to Nick’s Greek connections). I say time to move on.
Favorite Quote: Any of the nicknames for Jimmy while he was riding the boat. Sailor Boy, Little Man in the Canoe, Captain Chesapeake, McNulty the Sailor Man, and my favorite, Prince of Tides.
File This Away for Later Moment: Stringer’s encounter with Brother Mouzone. The way that Brother Mouzone sees straight through Stringer -- remember that. Mouzone will be making an appearance in Season 3.
Rookie of the Year: Ziggy. On Way Down in the Hole, Van Lathan pointed out that Ziggy is a character who always provokes an emotional reaction; love him or hate him, you feel some kind of way when he shows up. Personally, I found my growing tolerance for Ziggy growing over the course of the season, and on a rewatch I was more attentive to the way he’s treated by Nick and Frank. It’s hard not to feel sorry for the class clown who just wanted some respect, and couldn’t get it, stuck in a job where he couldn’t succeed and ignored by his own father. Over a single season, Ziggy evolves from union jester to booster extraordinaire to convicted murderer, all because he couldn’t find his spot. Hopefully he’ll have time to change in prison, and he’ll be able to start over once he gets out.
Six M(e)n of the Year: Jemele Hill and Van Lathan picked Herc and Carver, and I have to agree. No one was a more consistent B plot than Police Brutality 1 & 2 (Jemele’s nickname for them): Herc’s pestering of Kima to join the team, and then getting Daniels to bring Carver on board, too; the bug-tennis ball-Fuzzy Dunlop subplot; those brief seconds where the two of them struggled to bring that air conditioner up the stairs; constant car surveillance and that amazing scene with the french fries (”You think I’m fat?”). I’ve always liked Herc and Carver because I think they’re funny, but I felt guiltier about it last season because they were unquestionably the cops most likely to beat someone up. This season, they’re the perfect combination of scheming yet inept and well-positioned as comic relief.
Favorite Scene: It’s either D’Angelo’s death in S2E6 or the scene in S2E11 where Beadie asks Frank to talk to the cops. First, D’Angelo’s death is dramatic because it’s so sudden -- everything is going well, and then thirty seconds later D’Angelo’s on the floor with a belt around his neck. The first time I watched S2E6 I didn’t actually believe that D’Angelo had died -- it wasn’t until the next episode that I understood he’d actually been killed off. Not to mention, D’Angelo was season 1′s moral compass, so losing him was pretty upsetting. Second, the scene between Beadie and Frank -- well, I’m just a romantic for them. Whether they should’ve been together or just good friends, you can’t deny how well Amy Ryan and Chris Bauer act emotional. I felt Frank’s regret for everything he’d done, even more so because I knew what was going to happen to him. And, yes, I think this scene is proof why Beadie and Frank would’ve been a good couple. While Beadie was there for a reason, she was the only person who was able to comfort Frank and understand why he made the choices that he did, and Beadie was the only person Frank was able to open up to. Maybe in an alternate universe, Frank comes clean, helps the cops nab the Greeks before they sail off on fraudulent passports, and Beadie drives him home, where with Ziggy in jail he decides he’s going to start anew. The two of them load his truck with suitcases, pick up Beadie’s kids, and drive off into the sunset.
Best Performance: Nick Sobotka. It’s hard to make a thieving, racist dockworker sympathetic, but Pablo Schreiber did it. Jemele Hill points out that Nick is the most openly racist of the dockworkers; despite working with and seemingly befriending black fellow dockworkers, Nick consistently uses the n-word, and in S2E7 gives an infamous speech to Frog, reminding them that they’re both white. Yet we also see Nick struggling to survive: living in his parents’ basement, giving money to his girlfriend when he can, and being affectionate with his daughter. He turns to crime because he can’t make enough money at his straight job. Nick Sobotka’s character is a masterful ruse to get white audience members, who may have resisted empathizing with the Barksdales, to see drug sellers as human. I also have to shout out Pablo Schreiber for being (a) very cute, (b) 6′5″, and (c) apparently very talented at playing believably nasty characters -- he won an Emmy for Orange is the New Black as George “Pornstache” Mendez, an abusive corrections officer who exacts sex from inmates in return for drugs he smuggles in. I guess post-Emmy he’s in demand, most recently playing Mad Sweeney on American Gods.
Stringer Bell Fuckboy Award: There are two options, both of them defensible. It’s either the scene where Stringer seduces Donette, or when he’s over there later playing with D’Angelo’s kid while Donette makes him dinner. Personally, I’d pick the latter. Not only are Stringer and Donette holding hands in front of D’Angelo’s son, but Stringer actually picks up the (world’s cutest) baby and bad-mouths D’Angelo to him! Classic fuckboy.
Favorite Trivia: Apparently, Lance Reddick (Cedric Daniels) hated Dominic West (Jimmy McNulty). In real life, Reddick and West are somewhat like their TV personalities -- Reddick is quieter and more reserved while West is very chatty and extraverted. In All the Pieces Matter, Reddick admitted that he found West rather annoying and avoided him outside of work.
MVP: Beadie Russell. Instrumental to the plot, growing exponentially from day-jobber in S2E1 to certified good police in S2E12, and maybe the kindest character on the show. A single mother supporting herself and two kids, it’s hard not to root for Beadie, who became a cop after realizing she couldn’t feed her family on a toll-taker’s salary. She also gets a disproportionate number of the season’s most quotable lines, from “What they need is a union” to “World just keeps turning, right?,” probably because she represents the viewer’s perspective (taking over from gone-too-soon D’Angelo Barksdale). While her weakness for McNulty will get her in trouble, I’m glad we’ll see the return of Beadie in Seasons 4 and 5.
That was fun y’all. Here’s my bracket for Season 1.

If You Just Listened - Part 16
A/N- Sorry everyone for such a long wait! I put two chapters up on my wattpad and totally forgot to move them here!
You and Owen sat uncomfortably close, your knees to your chests under the bar. You looked up at Lucy, desperate to stand and stretch your legs.
"Now?" "Not yet," she whispered back.
You groaned, pressing your forehead to your knees.
"This doesn't seem worth it," you mumbled. "Shh!" Owen hissed, tilting his head upwward. He stuck his ear out as much as he could, listening intently.
Finally, the sound of jingling keys came.
"Night Mike!" exclaimed Lucy. A few others in the closing crew also bid him goodbye.
As usual, Mike grumbled his barely understandable response before making his way out.
There was dead silence, Lucy waited until she heard the exterior door close.
"ALRIGHT, THE COAST IS CLEAR," she called out.
You and Owen stood up, your back stinging from your uncomfortable position. You looked around, watching as staff members crawled out from every possible hiding spot in Pogo's. It was a sight to behold.
Everyone gathered around the bar, holding out their empty glasses. It was restock day. Finally, after all the excitement, it had arrived. You were almost beginning to think it was a myth, that the day would never come. But once you saw the crate of brand new bottles of booze, you knew tonight was the night.
As each crew member's shift ended, they hid within Pogo's - behind curtains, under tables, and in your case - beneath the bar. The plan was to wait after closing until Mike left, then everyone would take part in all the old bottles of liquor. You heard some pretty exciting tales of previous restockings, and you hoped to create some of your own tonight.
Everyone's cup was full, and the air was full of excitement. After filling yours, you joined Owen and Lucy for your first drink of the night.
"Cheers guys," you began, raising your cup to theirs. They clinked their glasses to yours, downing the drinks with ease. You tried to do the same, but your face involuntarily twisted from the bitterness of the alcohol.
"Such a rookie," Owen mumbled, rolling his eyes. "She'll get used to it," Lucy responded, lightly shoving his arm.
You didn't say anything, swirling a remaining drop of rum around in your glass. You were happy, but sad at the same time. You felt like you were finally part of the Pogo's crew, just one of the team doing their part, another member of the club. You looked around at the faces around you. Everyone was smiling and laughing. Even some of the comedians snuck in to take part in the celebration. It was nice. But was it that nice?
Your eyes drifted to the ground.
You were beginning to think your steps to success in Gotham would be fruitless. You didn't seem to be any closer to stardom than when you arrived. And even if you were, it didn't matter much to you anymore. Seeing what you've seen, focusing on becoming famous felt like such a superficial desire. Gotham was a sick place. The streets were filthy. The people were struggling to survive. Those with the power to help didn't seem to help at all. They fed off the poor and weak. Is that what you wanted to become? A leech?
You thought about your night at the hospital with Arthur.
Arthur was unemployed now. His mother was ill. He barely ate. It's like he'd awoken a sense of duty in you that you had never felt before. You wanted to help him. You wanted to help people like him. Before you came here, the only person you truly cared about was yourself. Your clothing. Your makeup. Your future in fame. Your sheltered life had brought you here, to this state of mind. You had never known financial hardship.
You didn't want to be famous, you just wanted to see your family and help some people out.
Gotham was rough, but it taught you some lessons that you wouldn't soon forget.
Owen snapped his fingers in your face.
"Hey, you alive in there? You even paying attention to what we're saying?"
You shook yourself from your trance. "Huh?"
Lucy nodded towards one of the TVs. "Apparently those protests are getting worse and worse. A few riots broke out and everything. All because of some clown."
A clown?
"Wait, what do you mean some clown?" you asked, your chest beginning to tighten. You visioned Arthur, bloody and beaten against your apartment door.
Lucy raised her shoulders. "Some guy in a clown get-up shot three guys on the subway. Have you really not heard about that?"
"It's been plastered all over the news," Owen added.
You shook your head, "No, no I heard... But I didn't know it was a clown."
"Well not really a clown," Owen continued. "It was just a guy wearing a clown mask."
You sighed in immense relief. A mask. Arthur didn't wear a mask to work.
"That's why all the protestors are wearing 'em," said Lucy as she refilled the glasses. "Anyways, why are we even talking about this? Shouldn't we be getting plastered?"
You smiled, a small chuckle escaping your lips. "You're right, you're right. Tonight isn't the night to worry."
Owen wrapped his arm around yours and Lucy's shoulders, pulling you towards a larger group of Pogo's employees.
"Now let's have some fucking fun."
Things got crazier and crazier as the night went on. Some of the waiters danced on the tables, others played games like strip poker, some were just getting into plain and simple fist fights. You were definitely having a great time watching it all unfold.
You lost track of exactly how many drinks you had, but you were definitely drunk. You found yourself often stumbling, grabbing onto tables and chairs for balance as you made your way around Pogo's. You decided to see what your friends were up to, barely managing to keep yourself upright as you ventured back to the bar.
"Ow-ahn? Loosee..ee?" you drunkenly called out, finally reaching the bar. You leaned against it, looking around. You turned, groaning in annoyance when you spotted them - they were leaning against the entrance to Mike's office, heavily making out.
"Get a rooooom!" You called out.
Lucy pried her face off Owen, laughing when she saw you.
"Looks like someone's fucked up," she teased. You flipped her off.
Owen pulled his head up, his cheeks red and his face sweaty. He was clearly well beyond drunk. "You're juuszt jealous 'cause yoer boyfriend isn't heere!"
You scrunched your eyebrows. "Whaht boyfrahnd?"
Lucy sucked her teeth. "Please, everyone sees you flirting with that weird laughing guy that's always here."
You felt your face turn red in embarrassment. You never flirted with Arthur, especially not at Pogo's. The only thing you were guilty of was being his friend. Although recently you began to feel a little more than that... but you were certainly not going to tell anyone that.
"H-Hey fuhck you, he's nawt my boyfrehnd!"
"Sure," Lucy said sarcastically as she turned back to Owen.
Apathy. You hated apathy. No one here ever seemed like they cared about what you had to say. Everyone would always brush you off, never taking you seriously. Not once. You felt anger rising in you. At yourself. At Lucy. At everyone you'd let step over you. You never defended Arthur, even after he'd help you countless times. Because of what? You wanted to impress some jerks at your crappy job? Maybe you were drunk, but you weren't going to stand for it any longer. Your irritation began to sober you up.
"Even if he was my boyfriend, what the fuck do you care? All you care about is drinking and hitting on random guys WHILE you're on the clock," you snapped.
Lucy glared at you, "What's your problem?" Owen messily brought a finger to her lips, "S-Shh, don't wooree about it, she's juhst drank."
"Fuck you too, Owen," you continued. "Bossy fucking prick. You act like you're the manager when guess what, we have the same fucking job! Screw this, I'm leaving."
You began to turn around, when you felt a hand grab your arm. Lucy looked at you in the eyes, sighing.
"You're drunk. Just calm down," she whispered.
You pulled your arm, but her grip was firm. The more you fought against her, the stronger she held on to you. You finally felt yourself begin to cool off.
"Fine," you grumbled. "Good," she replied. She let go of you, making her way back to Owen, who quickly wrapped her back up in his arms.
You rolled your eyes at the sight, pretending to gag. Lucy returned the finger you'd given her earlier. You shook your head, making your way to the exit. Your head was still spinning from the alcohol.
"You think she'll be alright out there?" Lucy asked. "She'll be fiiiine," Owen responded, pressing his mouth against hers. Lucy shrugged, resuming what they started.
You stumbled a bit as you stepped outside, leaning against the railing as you made your way up the concrete steps out of Pogo's. As you reached the top step, you hesitated once you saw the figure of a man standing against a nearby wall, veiled by shadows. You didn't want to move any closer, worried for your safety.
A car drove by, its headlights illuminating the area.
Arthur stood there, scribbling quietly in his notebook.
You smiled in alleviation and delight, happier than ever to see him. You ran towards him, wrapping hin tightly in your arms and sending him stumbling backwards.
He yelped in surprise, looking down at you with wide eyes. He grinned, giddy with excitement when he saw that it was you.
"I thought I was being mugged again," he said quietly, chuckling to himself.
You laughed, releasing him from your hug. You rubbed your arms, suddenly realizing how cold it was. You looked at what Arthur was wearing - Just his thin tan jacket as usual.
"How long were you out here?" "Does it matter?" "Well, yeah. It's freezing..."
Arthur shrugged. "Just wanted to make sure you got home safe. I'm not really busy at the moment."
You raised your eyebrow. "What were you doing this whole time?"
Arthur held up his notebook. "Just writing down some jokes to pass the time."
"Let me see that!" you exclaimed, snatching the notebook from his hands.
"Hey!" He tried to grab it from you, but you held it just out of his reach.
"If you want it, you're gonna have to take it from me!" you giggled deviously.
With that, you ran out into the Gotham night.

I'm from SC and to be fair, it's the Palmetto state. I'd feel like it'd be pretty easy to act like SC palms are LA palms. It's so weird to me that they use her as a source, nothing she says can be backed up or validated? Doesn't she claim to be a PR insider, or something like that? Why would she live on the opposite coast, in SC of all places
That’s an interesting tidbit-something I hadn’t considered.
No, her posts were never backed up with proof- she never provided enough information to make it possible to vet her posts. Here are a few from the last week of March 29-31, 2017.  These are literally all the post that she wrote for that period- aka this is the the information her followers were getting except for a thread about Ben that I left out and the reblogs.
Nomie party (X)
You did????? When? Was I annoyingly perky or in professional mode??
That’s freaking awesome. We must have lunch.
Didn’t post the ask cause that was too many details on that party. 😂😂 already been in trouble thanks.
Glad I’m not the only one that thought he is an ass.

Who me? I would never……😇😇😇😇😇
Yeah okay maybe a little. 😈😈😈😈😈
Anonymous asked:
Just being nosey...what are you gloating about?
I might have overheard some of the highlights to a certain article and had mentioned them. The nomie didn’t believe me. 😁 guess they do now.

She seems like she has had a meltdown. Maybe she is high? Honestly not being funny here.
She is all over the place. One minute she is deleting. One minute saying his Fandom is over, another saying let’s be friends and nice to everyone no matter the ships, then next raging at everybody. Deleting even her favorite responders comment’s…
All this while insisting she isn’t able to be online. 😑😑

You have overheard the lea's article??
More like… at the right party at the right time.

Couldnt tell you.
I mean in in La and in hollywood right now working. (Well not today I had a free day)

Can’t really say where I was as it included what I was doing and with whom. But it was here after the first of the year
****************************************************************
These are typical posts she would make about her personal life- cryptic, over-the-top and full of BS. She claimed at the time that she was staying at the home of some uber-wealthy guy who was letting her stay there with the roomies and she had permission to take his BMW anytime she wanted- but she never did-she took Uber and posted about her favorite Uber driver.  She claimed she was an working actress and model for Fenty among other companies. She had an IG which was full of Fashion Nova posts where she called herself an actress, model and influencer.
La chronicles day… I think I just live here now.
Feeling better yeah!!!!
On the list of things I never thought I’d say with such enthusiasm..
“I fought the housekeeper and won!!”
Aka I made dinner and it is full of veggies.
Because apparently some men don’t understand that I’m not 99% muscle
😑😑😑 they are acting like I demanded they be drawn and quartered. Eat the damn veggies you big babies.
Side note, you know that heifer glared at me, sighed and mumbled under her breath that I would mess up her kitchen. Bite me lady.
la life
eat the damn veggies
veggies won't kill you
Legit conversation that happened at lunch
Background. Met the rookmies 😄😄 (this just tickles me) for a late lunch before my shoot. As I’m sitting at the table waiting for them… cue ego tripping hetero male who apparently thought he was gods gift to manhood. (I didn’t get the memo) . He will hence forth be called male chauvinist jackass or Mcj for short …….
Mcj: hi babe, how you doing… Me: 😐 Mcj: I said hi babe how’s you?….
Me: I heard you I was just waiting for you to say hi miss or hello ma'am or something.   Mcj: whatever. This seat taken (as he sits down)
Fill in pointless small talk. Me mostly using one word answers.
Me: yes actually Mcj: whatever so I was thinking, you me dinner then maybe head back to my place, watch a movie….
Me: no thank you. Mcj: babe, come on now, don’t you know who I am? Me: no, should I?
Mcj: why yeah I’m on tv. Me: so? I’ve been on tv and will be again.. your point?
Cue more pointless small talk me just nodding. At some point the rookies show up and are headed over to the table. And I point them out.
Mcj: look so I’m doing you a solid, you can go far being attached to me, so ditch the gay boy band. and let’s go.
This mofo actually pulls out my chair and takes my arm.
………
So what did I learn this evening?
1). 5 inches wedge heels apparently hurt like a bitch on ones instep.   2). Apparently some dudes think this is cute. 3). Don’t piss off the gay boy band, any one of them can kick your butt and not break a sweat.   4 ). Telling a woman to get a real job after I mention why I was busy that evening is probably not the way to get a date. 5) all of the above behavior is not the way to get a date.
I’ve totally summed this up. But for the first time I was able to project anger in photos 😂😂😂 usually I have problems going there lol.
la life
some dudes are idiots
So break in the shoot for some entertainment.
Overheard conversation
“Sandra…. sandra. Bring the butt pads.”
“The lifters or the volume?”
“She has lift, bring the volume” Then heard mumbled “ she’s black how does she have a white chick ass? She has boobs for days but no ass.”
Then… you realize sandra is walking towards yours truly.
Well ya can thank my German ancestors for that one. Don’t blame me the stylist put me in this maxi dress.
Oy vey………
la life
I'm not bad I'm drawn that way
La premorning gameshow
When your sitting in hair and makeup, wondering if you think they think you can breathe through osmosis.
Omfg. Could you have picked a tighter pair of jeans?
I’m not exactly sitting … more like reclining with style.
FYI deserts before the sun comes up… are cold as heck. Holy crap. 😜😜😜
Ugh. La chronicles .. . time to catch up .
Paying for those two days off. Make up time. Shoot before the Crack of dawn (and i do mean before the crack of dawn) and one this evening.
la life
Busy busy.
Okay soooooooko Goes from cold to….. let’s melt you skin off. 😂
On the plus side. Done til 5pm and I get to do it all over again.
Beach side this time whooo hooo.

my favourite fics in ao3
Ziam
Ninety-Eight Percent
“This is the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” Niall chokes out, actual tears welling in his eyes. Liam hates him. A lot.
“This website is bullshit,” Liam grumbles. “Niall this can’t be real. How am I ninety-eight percent compatible with Louis Tomlinson?”
--
In which Louis is Liam's soulmate and Liam is really not amused.
Ziam Twitcam
The fans want some real life Ziam action
As He Moves
Zayn thought he wanted to know where Liam worked. Apparently he thought wrong.
Only Place I Call Home
Liam works at a coffee shop; Zayn is a homeless street performer who plays just outside the shop. Sometimes Liam brings Zayn coffee and donuts and in exchange Zayn sings for him.
Wrong Side of Love
Zayn and Liam wake up in each other's bodies.
Burning Away From Inside
They're a little too dysfunctional to be considered superheroes, but they do their best.
Connected
Fed up with Zayn and Liam skirting around how they feel about each other, the rest of the band devise a plan to get them to own up to their feelings.
(Or, Zayn and Liam are oblivious and annoying, the rest of the band can't handle it anymore, and handcuffs were probably not intended to be used this way.)
What We Become
“Nervous?”
“No.”
“It’s okay if you are,” Harry says seriously. “I mean, I know I would be. Like, if there was ever a date that was destined to go bad, it’s probably this one. Werewolf goes on date with the son of a werewolf hunter, who’s also training to be a werewolf hunter when he’s older, while another pack of werewolves are practically massacring the town, and no one has no idea how to stop them. It's not a question of what could go wrong. It's a question of what could possibly go right, and I'm willing to bet the answer to that is nothing."
Floating On The Water
Liam just wants to get through his last summer working at Malik Resort before University without incident. Of course, life is never that easy, and he ends up getting roped into giving the bosses son, Zayn, swimming lessons. That wouldn't be so bad, if Zayn didn't happen to hate him so much.
Tunnel Vision
In which Zayn is an award-winning popstar with a knack for getting himself in trouble, and Liam is the bodyguard he didn’t want to hire who has a few problems with staying professional.
Not Happening
Zayn and Liam are roommates. They hate each other. (Most of the time.)
Lover Dearest
"First rule, babe," Zayn says, leaning down. His lips slide over Liam's jaw, barely there, just a soft pressure, fleeting and gone as soon as it came. "Never trust a vampire."
He's grinning as he climbs off Liam, heading for the door. Liam watches him go, thinking that he's wrong. The first rule should be to not fall in love with one.
Larry
Learning to Eat
Celebrity chef Louis Tomlinson has a problem. He’s opening his first restaurant in 9 weeks, and he has yet to hire a pastry chef- apparently people think he’s ‘standoffish’ and ‘rude’ and ‘quick to temper’. Whatever. He ends up saddled with an annoying, happy-go lucky rookie who also happens to be obnoxiously good looking. His tv presenter and pop star best friends only add to the drama, and for fucks sake would everyone please stop quoting Julia Child?!
Kitchen AU where Harry helps Louis re-learn how to eat. (METAPHORICALLY)
we are honey and the bee
It isn’t his fault though, it is entirely the fault of whichever gods thought it would be a good idea to taunt Louis by dangling a curly haired boy in front of him with a mouth that can’t possibly be as soft as it looks, a mouth that requires further inspection with Louis’ own mouth. Unfortunately, Louis absolutely cannot do that, because it would go against all rules and guidelines in the Golden Handbook of Nanny and Employee Etiquette that he’s pretty sure exists.
au where harry plays rugby at uni, louis needs to hire a nanny, and life is one big cliche.
Turning From Praise (Punk!Harry Christian!Louis)
Louis has had a strict Christian upbringing that he never realized he resented until he meets Harry Styles, a boy who lives to rebel and doesn’t give a damn what anyone else thinks. But the better he gets to know Harry, the more he begins to realize that maybe Harry does care. And maybe “the children who God forgot” are closer to God than the devout will ever be.
if you need a loving hand
Harry and Louis are just two friends who bought a coffee shop and went into business together. They definitely probably do not have feelings for each other.
Follow Me Down This Time
Harry first noticed Louis in his second term at Hogwarts, and despite three years of inventing ways to stumble across Louis, he's never managed to actually work up the courage to speak to him. Also known as, self-indulgent Hogwarts AU, because every fandom needs Hogwarts AUs.
if you'll be my star, i'll be your sky
Louis smiles in the smuggest, most infuriating way, like he knows every thought filtering through Harry’s mind. He probably does.
“I thought you were a student, yeah,” Louis says, voice quieter now, leaving Harry to lean over the baluster somewhat to hear. “But I hoped you weren't.”
(or, Harry Potter AU where Harry takes a teaching post at Hogwarts and gets a little more than he expected when he meets the fit Transfiguration professor, Louis, who looks oddly familiar... Featuring Messrs. Horan, Malik, and Payne as well, along with some familiar faces from the HPverse)
At Least We're Breathing
(Just another mental institution fic!)
Fairly quickly, it becomes obvious to Harry why almost all of them are there; Liam can't control how much he eats-and then can't keep it down-. Niall doesn't talk, Harry himself has tried to end his own life, and Zayn isn't always...Zayn.
Then there's Louis, who no one really knows what he's in for, and Harry isn't even sure he belongs, but maybe he's glad he's there anyway.
Take A Bite Outta Me
Louis truly resents the implication that he is basically Harry’s own version of Bella goddamn Swan, because seriously, no. Just no. But the issue is that even this stupid Meyeresque revelation has done absolutely nothing to dampen his attraction to this weirdly charming vampire man who dresses in 8000 pound coats and hangs around in dilapidated buildings with his merry band of ethical bloodsuckers.
Louis is a slightly inept vampire hunter. Harry is a slightly unique vampire. They meet
Lego House
Louis didn't know what to think when he woke up with a needle in his arm and an unconscious man across the room. He didn't know what to think when he could hear everything. He didn't know what to think when he picked up four boys on his way out. Maybe, just maybe, they could get away.
or where Louis has heightened senses, Harry is basically a shape shifter, Liam can manipulate the air, Zayn can influence people's emotions, and Niall has healing powers. And crazy stuff happens as they wander through the woods.
Title is "Lego House" by Ed Sheeran
Two To Rule
Prince Louis is an intellectual interested in philosophy and human interaction; Prince Harry feeds off of power and wealth because it's all he's been raised to yearn for. Their arranged marriage will be the downfall of them both.
In Dreams
AU. When Harry moves to a new city, his new flat come with a number of sweet, anonymous gifts and surprises that brighten his days. Could it be a friendly ghost? Another friendly presence in his new building is his tattooed neighbor, Louis, who seems determined to put a smile back on his face.
yellow lamps on blackened skies
Louis is the best baker in his apartment building until his new neighbour shows up and threatens his position (and his dignity). It turns out that actually, he might have a competitive streak.
Like Master, Like Pet
In which Louis's cat apparently wants to date Harry's frog, intense studying of eyebrows is a thing, pillows can turn into flamingos, and a lot of really lame-ass jokes are made.
feel the chemicals burn in my bloodstream
“Alright, alright. No need to bite,” Harry says, holding his hands above his head in a general gesture of surrender.
Louis quirks an eyebrow and his foot nudges Harry’s as he moves to sit straight. “If that’s what you think biting is, you’ve got another thing coming, Styles.”
Harry blinks at him before he feels his face flush and inside the marrows of his bones there’s pulses of heat, pulses of fire spreading through him. “Is that a threat, your Highness?”
“That’s a promise,” Louis answers just as the car halts to a stop. “One I intend to keep.”
Harry is a journalist with a lot of secrets and Louis is the future king of the United Kingdom; they live together for 60 days.
With the Rising Sun
This idea bloomed after seeing a post of 19-year-old Harry with a picture of younger Louis and I just really wanted to make something where Harry was older.
Louis had been living in NYC for two years now while studying at NYU, and was probably the least social 21-year-old ever. Somehow he got roped into his sister's brilliant idea of getting her college best friend to help him branch out and meet people. Only there was one problem — Harry Styles is like the hottest thing on two legs and Louis' not ready to see a much older version of the boy who filled his fantasies as a teenager.
the value of this moment lives in metaphor
Louis and Harry are best friends and absolutely nothing more. It’s a bit strange that, suddenly, everyone thinks they’re dating.
Or the one where they’re all teachers at a high school and students are more invested in their lives than normally expected.
Baby Heaven's in your Eyes
They couldn’t be more different if they tried. Louis Tomlinson is 17 years old and in his last year of the most prestigious private school in Doncaster. If there’s one thing that completely annoys him, it’s that there is a poor community college right across the street.
Harry Styles is 19 years old, and (once again) in his last year of college. He goes to community college in Doncaster. He never shows up to classes and if he actually bothers to, he’s either high or drunk; sometimes both. His skin is littered with tattoos and if there’s one thing he absolutely hates, it’s the snobby students attending the private school right across from his.
Or a sixth form!AU where Harry is the fucked up bad boy with too many problems, Louis is the perfect rich boy with too much money and their schools are right across from each other. They meet at a party and that’s the last (and maybe the only) thing they need.
put the stars in our eyes
Louis goes to bed having ordered a nineteen year-old husband.
Louis is set to inherit the family farm after the death of his father, but after finding out that he needs to be married in order to do so, purchasing a nineteen year-old, mail-order husband named Harry Styles seems to be the easiest answer.
Zouis
Bruised
Louis accidentally gives Zayn a black eye and it sets off the weirdest year of his life. Set in New Jersey.
Chéri
growing up AU: In which Louis lives far away, but visits every winter; and Zayn falls just a bit more in love each year.
like any real love it's ever-changing
"Do you think if I repeat 'this isn't happening' for long enough it'll make it true?" Louis asks.
The cat—Zayn—moves its tail. Louis doesn't know what that means.
"I have no idea what that means," Louis says.
Zayn turns into a cat. Louis figures some things out.
if not the happiest, surely the luckiest
AU. reform boarding school for the obscenely wealthy, essentially. zayn is new and louis is hot shit.
high hopes
i know it's crazy to believe in silly things, but it's not that easy

want to stan vav? pls do! ❤
VAV currently consists of 7 members: St. Van, Baron, ACE, Ayno, Jacob, Lou and Ziu. VAV debuted on October 31, 2015, under A Team Entertainment -- formerly AQ Entertainment.
For what I can tell, it’s a pretty nice company. A Team handled all the exits of the old members with a a lot of class, never blaming the guys in any moment and wishing them the best of lucks in their new paths (Xiao and Gyeoul are still under their management for example and doing well). Their marketing team has been on point lately promoting the group and CEO Ryan S Jhun not only produces bops for them but he is always so caring toward the boys ?? like being with them in some of their vlives and other stuff, even his little puppy Simba is around for schedules lol. Plus, us fans are so well fed with daily updates and everything has subs.
VAV are seven adorable, tall and hard working guys that have been trough a lot since debut and the path has definitely not been an easy one, but they’ve always make sure to give fans a lot of love and the relationship they have with Vampz is so good and pure, they really give us so much and ask for so little in return. They deserve more recognition.
Anyways! The fandom name is VAMPZ and here are their official accounts:

VAV App: You can download the .apk here | it’s also in English so it’s easy to understand and the boys do weekly chats there with the fans wich are subbed in the moment. Sometimes they also do giveaways there and you can chat with other Vampz, It’s worth downloading it.
Bonus: little member introduction/profile ♡

Megaman X OCs
-Nook Morrigan
Age: 28 Birthdate: October 6th, 21XX Height: 5″1′ Weight: 111 Gender: Female Race: Dobbit Reploid (Dog Rabbit hybrid) Occupation: Antique dealer, Appraiser, Scavenger, Navigator (Worst at that job) Newbie photographer Hobbies: Reading, Writing, Photography Guitar Practicing (She thinks it’ll bring her friend back home and stops coming and going all the time) Friends: Layer, Axl, Konnar, Nityan, X, Zero, Signas, Douglas, Cinnamon, Marino. Enemies: Dynamo, Chaos, that one Furby that watches her sleep at night, Sigma.
History: Nook never started her life working for the Maverick Hunters, her life began as a Antique dealer who appraises people’s belonging and telling them their price value to sell it at while working with her friend, Glen, who’s a black cat who also works as a Musician and a travelling photographer and volunteering at Abel City’s church. It’s a good life until one day, the missile crisis happened and they lost their shop and half of their belongings inside it. Glen and Nook salvaged what they can, sold off anything that didn’t get destroyed and split the cash to live off of but yet they both agree to rebuild the shop and start over.
On their spare time, they would talk about any topic that would pop up in their heads while Glen showed Nook how to do photography, write poetry and songs, and play the guitar or any instrument he got on hand, but Nook always picked the guitar. The next morning, Glen packed his bag and said good bye out of the blues and left Nook and the Dobbit grieved over her friend leaving and having no way to contact him to make sure that he’s okay, leaving her lose some sleep at night and abandoning their shop and traveling the world.
It wasn’t easy for Nook to be out in the world full of Mavericks, fixing herself with duct tapes, and scavenging for parts and selling off stuff found among wreckage everywhere to make cash to survive and it didn’t help that Nook got arrested by Maverick Hunters after accidentally stumbling upon the forbidden zone (AKA Dr. Light’s old lab) and have to explain how she managed to pass security due to being light on her feet and moving fast.
Signas gave Nook a choice between jail time or working for them and Nook picked working for them to avoid jail time and Signas regrets giving her a job as a navigator after a lot of hunters got hurt and Nook being reckless with her job. Over time, Nook did become more helpful with analyzing what the Hunters would find and how old it is and how useful they can be to them in their fight against Mavericks and making things awkward between her and X and Zero when she points out their age and how much their parts and armor would be worth on the market.
On Nook’s free time, she would write stories and lyrics while teaching herself how to play the guitar in hopes that one day, her friend would hear it and come back for good and not randomly come and go all the time. She’s pretty close friends with Axl and Layer since she feels comfortable around them the most. Nook is a white Dobbit with Lavender and Mint green armor with orange freckles and brown eyes and her armor is cover with Duct tape and known to have long floppy ears and tail. She’s known to be a trouble maker and sarcastic at time and being too honest while shooting her mouth out which makes karma beat her up all the time but yet at the same time, Nook is still a good person who does care for everyone around her and understands that everyone has their own flaws while dealing with her personal problem.

Nityan
Age: 22 Birthdate: July 1st, 21XX Height: 5″0′ Weight: 100 (Light due to her former ability to fly easy and faster) Gender: Female Race: Phoenix Hybrid Reploid Occupation: Commissioner of Weaponry and Armory, Head of Security Hobbies: Reading, Bird Watching, Dancing, Dove and Pigeon raising Friends: Layer, Axl, Konnar, X, Zero, Signas, Douglas (Her adopted Uncle), Alia, Pallette, Chaos Enemies: Vile, Armageddon Anaconda, Mavericks History: The Commissioner of Weaponry and Armory for the Maverick Hunter and a Phoenix hybrid Reploid. Nityan is a sweet nature Reploid with a  semi-Tom boyish attitude that she created thanks to her upbringing by her adopted Uncle, Douglas. (Yes, that Douglas from the MMX Series) Nityan’s mother was a pink and gold colored Phoenix Reploid named Arizona while her father was a black and white colored human Reploid name Johnathan who happened to be Douglas’s closes friend during their years working together when Johnathan use to work as the head of security while Arizona worked in the weaponry and armor department and made Douglas his Best man at his wedding and made Douglas their daughter’s Godfather is anything was to happen to them if they gone Maverick or died. Nityan’s life with her parents were cut short when Mavericks came to her home and her mother hid her inside her father’s workshop inside a crate and ran back to help her father fight them off. Neither of her parents made it and she was found by Douglas after getting a call about the tragic death of her parents. It was an open and shut case on who gets to adopt Nityan when her parents’s last testament was found and read and Douglas took her in and raised her as his own. As Nityan got older, she began to show an incredible talent on making and advancing weapons and armory and understanding how to make better security for the Military and companies and gotten wide attention from universities who wanted to take her in to improve her skills but it was the Maverick Hunters who snatched her up out of fear that she would fall into the wrong hands of the Mavericks and she worked her way up to the level of Commissioner of weaponry and armory and becoming head of security. The reason she has no wings is because she was shot out of the sky by Vile in a battle at the Maverick Hunter Air Force and got them torn off by Vile and fed to a Anaconda Maverick. She’s a mature adult but yet can get pretty insecure about the stubs on her back and she won’t hesitate to hurt you if you tried to touch them. She also has romantic feelings for X but yet is too shy to tell him and scare that X won’t return the feeling. (But she does separate her personal life from her work life.)

Jessica never knew the truth about her mother’s death and Zero was willing to do anything to protect her from the ugly truth and raised her on his own with the help of X and some of their hunter friends. When Jessica was born, The Repliforce Scientists were shocked to discover that Jessica is the Ultimate Fighting Reploid they tried to create and failed after they were checking to make sure that her health is in good shape and want to do more studies on her. But her Uncle, Colonel, stepped in and put an end to their ideas and told them that he wanted his niece to live a happy life with her parents without being treated as a test subject. The Maverick Hunters and The Repliforce did come to agreement that they will watch over Jessica to make sure she’s safe and out of any Maverick reaches. As she got older, she wanted to be a strong fighter like her uncle, Colonel and her father Zero which gave Zero mixed feelings over the idea of his daughter wanting to be a Maverick Hunter after she got into Maverick Hunters Academy and choose to support his daughter and her dreams of becoming a Maverick Hunter while at the same time talking her into studying to be a navigator on the side in case the Maverick Hunter dream doesn’t go so well. (Also note: In my head canon, Iris and Colonel’s last name is Adder and since Zero didn’t know who created him at the time, he adopted Iris’s last name when they got married. I got the last name Adder from my favorite TV, Black Adder.)

Konnar Age: 18 Birthdate: ??? Height: Same height as Axl (But yet he’s shorter than his boyfriend, Nyiem) Weight: ??? Gender: Male Race: Humanoid Reploid Occupation: Maverick Hunter Hobbies: Spending time with Nyiem his boyfriend, Friends: Chaos, Axl, X, Zero, Nityan, Layer, Alia, Pallette, Cinnamon, Marino, Massimo, Nyiem (Boyfriend), Starblade Raccoon Enemies: Mavericks, anyone who hurts Chaos, Nyiem, or Starblade Raccoon History: No one knows who made Konnar or why they abandoned him in the ruins of a research lab with a mouthy, rude, and sarcastic AI name Chaos who was guarding over him till the Hunters found them. After giving the Reploid a quick scan for any viruses or any signs of them being Mavericks, it was safe to activate Konnar and discover that he was a docile Reploid with some weak fighting skills while Chaos is aggressive and get creative on how to defeat his enemies in battle, when he’s in possession of Konnar’s body that is. Starblade felt sorry for the Reploid and his AI after many Maverick Hunter Units refused to take in a weak Reploid and about to be doomed to be doing nothing but low level work like cleaning floors or taking out the trash and took him in after he lost his sons to Sigma along with his eye sight and he was determine to make Konnar into a powerful fighter. Konnar and Chaos does have an odd relationship since Chaos looks after Konnar while Konnar helps Chaos to stay out of trouble and know when to keep his mouth shut. Although Konnar is the most friendliest Reploid around who truly lives up to his namesake but in reality, whoever created him, made him into a Berserker Reploid and what’s stopping him from becoming one is his odd eye someone else installed and Chaos who was programmed into it. It’s only a matter of time before Konnar’s dark potential comes out.

Starblade Raccoon Age: 64 Birthdate: December 7th, 21XX Height: 6″2′ Weight: 311 Gender: Male Race: Raccoon Reploid Occupation: Commander of the cursed 13th Unit Hobbies: Meditation, Haiku writing, Astronomy, Kenjutsu Friends: Layer, Axl, Konnar, X, Zero, Signas, Alia, Pallette, Chaos, Nyiem, his sons (All five deceased by the hand of Sigma) Enemies: Mavericks, Sigma, Shade Fox History: Leader of the cursed 13th Unit, Starblade is known to be a powerful fighter, wise, and to be a fatherly figure with a caring heart to every Hunter who works in his Unit who are treated as his own children with great respect, caring, nurturing, and understanding and raises Hell if Shade Fox dares rear his foxy head around to poach any of his Hunter, mostly Konnar. It is no big secret between the 13th Unit and the 9th Unit Special Force that Shade Fox and Starblade Raccoon hate each others hardware and always at each others throats and getting revenge on each other in the most horrible (or Comical) way as possible. Created from the mysterious chunk of metal that fell from outer space, Reploid Researchers got curious and used the metal to create Starblade and his five sons ( Apollo, Helios, Guaraci, Sulis, and Neto ) for space research and gathering data. Mostly, Starblade and his sons were used for research on the power of the Cosmos and if its possible for the human to control it and use it as the source of endless energy and to advance medical research. But Starblade and his sons soon gain new positions to fight Mavericks by joining the 13th Unit and later on, it was Sigma who hand picked Starblade to his Co-Commander of his Unit while his sons continued on working for the 13th Unit. But then one day, Starblade started sensing darkness within the Leader of the Maverick Hunters and warned his sons and the others, but to his dismay, Sigma moved quickly on his plan and the Maverick Upraise has begun. It was Starblade who was first to confronted Sigmas in hopes that he can talk him out of killing off the human race and call off the Maverick Upraise. Sigma, being disappointed in his Co-Commander and his sons for refusing to join him and are willing to fight him to the death, fought against Starblade and took his way his eye sight, injuring him severely, and then killed all five of his sons mercilessly. (There was a dark rumor once that Sigmas cut off his sons’s tails and decorated his belt with them to show them off as trophies to the other Mavericks.) When Starblade woke up, he was told of the news about his sons’s death and he grieved for his sons and the 13th Unit who were destroyed by Sigma’s wrath. As years went by, Starblade returned as the Commander of the 13th Unit or as everyone called it, “The Cursed Unit” and trained new recruits in it and took Konnar as a adopted son and apprentice he’s training to be a powerful Hunter. Even though Starblade’s eye sight is gone but yet his other senses has sharpen over time and he can hear better and smell better than before and he hopes of one day, that Konnar won’t have to depend on Chaos to do a lot of fighting for him.

With dozens of films genre being released each year, a typical one that gets overlooked by the more popular ones (action, drama, comedy, animation, etc.) is the subgenre category of religious movie. These films (sometimes called “faith-based” features) usually center around the struggles and ideas of a person (or groups) identity of a religious faith, which is, more or less, has a profound event or obstacle to overcome. While not entirely, the most commonplace religious type movies focus on the religion of Christianity, sometimes venturing back into the past in cinematic retelling classic biblical tales, including famed epic films like Ten Commandments and Ben-Hur (the original 1959 version) to some more modern endeavors from Hollywood like Risen, The Young Messiah, and Paul, Apostle of Christ. Other Christian “faith” films finds a more contemporary setting to tell its story, with some being “based on a true-life account” like the movies Unconditional, Heaven is Real, Unbroken, I Can Only Imagine, Indivisible, and Miracles from Heaven, while others might find inspiration from literary novels / fictionalized narratives like The Shack, Overcomer, War Room, and Same Kind of Different as Me. Regardless, whether finding inspiration from true life, references from the bible, or originality, these movies usually speaks on a person’s faith and the inner struggle he or she has within or one society’s views, spreading a message of belief and the understand of one’s belief. Now, after the success of 2018’s I Can Only Imagine, directors Andrew and Jon Erwin (the Erwin Brothers) and Lionsgate studios release the 2020 faith-based film / music biopic feature I Still Believe. Does the film walk a fine line between its religious aspects and cinematic entertainment or does the movie get entangled in its own faith-based preaching?
THE STORY
Its 1999 and Jeremy Camp (K.J. Apa) is a young and aspiring musician who would like nothing more than to honor his God through the power of music. Leaving his Indiana home for the warmer climate of California and a college education, Jeremy soon comes across one Melissa Henning (Britt Robertson), a fellow college student that he takes notices in the audience at a local concert. Falling for cupid’s arrow immediately, he introduces himself to her and quickly discovers that she is attracted to him too. However, Melissa holds back from forming a budding relationship as she fears it will create an awkward situation between Jeremy and their mutual friend, Jean-Luc (Nathan Parson), a fellow musician and who also has feeling for Melissa. Still, Jeremy is relentless in his pursuit of her until they eventually find themselves in a loving dating relationship. However, their youthful courtship with each other comes to a halt when life-threating news of Melissa having cancer takes center stage. The diagnosis does nothing to deter Jeremey’s love for her and the couple eventually marries shortly thereafter. Howsoever, they soon find themselves walking a fine line between a life together and suffering by her illness; with Jeremy questioning his faith in music, himself, and with God himself.
THE GOOD / THE BAD
Sorry if this sounds a bit familiar pieces from my review of I Can Only Imagine, but it definitely says what I feel about these films. While I am a devout Christian (not a crazy zealot or anything like that) for my bases of religion and my outlook beliefs in life, I’m not a huge fan of the “faith-based” feature films. That’s not to say that they’re bad or that I find them deplorable to the other more popular movie genres out there, but sometimes they can a bit preachy and corny / honky in their religious overtones and overall dramatic direction. Personally, I like the more biblical tales that Hollywood as put over, with Cecil B. Demile’s The Ten Commandments and William Wyler’s Ben-Hur; both of have proven to stand the test of time within filmmaking. Of course, Hollywood’s recent trend of put out more “remakes” movies puts an overcast on those biblical epics with 2014’s Exodus: Gods and Kings and 2016’s Ben-Hur; both of which failed to capture a sense of cinematic integrity and had a messy religious outlook in its zeal aspect. Of late, however, Hollywood as retreated more into contemporary pieces, finding narratives that are, more or less, set in a more “modern” day and age to their Christian-faithful based features. As I mentioned above, some have found success in their literary forms (being based on a book and adapted to the big screen), but most derive their inspiration from true life accounts, translating into something that’s meant to strike a chord (with moviegoers) due to its “based on a true story” aspect and nuances. Again, some are good (as I liked Unbroken and The Shack), while others kind of become a bit too preachy and let the religious overtures hamper the film, making them less-than desirable to mainstream audiences or even members of their own faiths. Thus, these religious-esque films can sometimes be problematic in their final presentation for both its viewers and in the film itself; sometimes making the movie feel like a TV channel movie rather than a theatrical feature film. This brings me around to talking about I Still Believe, a 2020 motion picture release of the Christian religious faith-based genre. As almost customary, Hollywood usually puts out two (maybe three) films of this variety movies within their yearly theatrical release lineup, with the releases usually being around spring time and / or fall respectfully. I didn’t hear much when this movie was first announced (probably got buried underneath all the popular movies news on the newsfeed). My first actual glimpse of the movie was when the film’s movie trailer was released, which looked somewhat interesting to me. Yes, it looked the movie was gonna be the typical “faith-based” vibe, but it was going to be directed by the Erwin Brothers, who directed I Can Only Imagine (a film that I did like). Plus, the trailer for I Still Believe premiered for quite some time, so I kept on seeing it a lot of time when I went to my local movie theater. You can kind of say that it was a bit “engrained in my brain”. Thus, I was a bit keen on seeing it. Fortunately, I was able to see it before the COVID-19 outbreak closed the movie theaters down (saw it during its opening night), but, due to work scheduling, I haven’t had the time to do my review for it…. until now. And what did I think of it? Well, it was pretty “meh”. While its heart is definitely in the right place and quite sincere, I Still Believe is a bit too preachy and unbalanced within its narrative execution and character developments. The religious message is clearly there, but takes too many detours and not focusing on certain aspects that weigh the feature’s presentation. As mentioned, I Still Believe is directed by the Erwin Brothers (Andrew and Jon), whose previous directorial works include such films like Moms’ Night Out, Woodlawn, and I Can Only Imagine. Given their affinity attraction religious based Christian movies, the Erwin Brothers seem like a suitable choice in bringing Jeremy Camp’s story to a cinematic representation; approaching the material with a certain type of gentleness and sincerity to the proceedings. Much like I Can Only Imagine, the Erwin Brothers shape the feature around the life of a popular Christian singer; presenting his humble beginnings and all the trials and tribulations that he must face along the way, while musical songs / performance taking importance into account of the film’s narrative story progression. That’s not to say that the movie isn’t without its heavier moments, with the Erwin, who (again) are familiar with religious overtones themes in their endeavors, frame I Still Believe compelling messages of love, loss, and redemption, which (as always) are quite fundamental to watch and experience through tragedy. This even speaks to the film’s script, which was penned by Erwin brothers playing double duty on the project, that has plenty of heartfelt dramatic moments that will certainly tug on the heartstrings of some viewers out there as well as provide to be quite an engaging tale of going through tragedy and hardship and finding a redemption arc to get out of it. This is especially made abundantly clear when dealing with a fatal illness that’s similar to what Melissa undergoes in the film, which is quite universal and reflective in everyone’s world, with the Erwin Brothers painting the painful journey that Melissa takes along with Jeremy by her side, who must learn to cope with pain of a loved one. There is a “double edge” sword to the film’s script, but I’ll mention that below. Suffice to say, the movie settles quickly into the familiar pattern of a religious faith-based feature that, while not exactly polished or original, can be quite the “comfort food” to some; projecting a wholesome message of faith, hope, and love. Personally, I didn’t know of Jeremy Camp and the story of he and Melissa Henning, so it was quite a poignant journey that was invested unfolding throughout the film’s proceedings. As a side-note, the movie is a bit a “tear jerker”, so for those who prone to crying during these dramatic heartfelt movies….get your tissues out. In terms of presentation, I Still Believe meets the industry standard of a religious faith-based motion pictures. Of course, theatrical endeavors like these don’t really have big budged production money to invest in the film’s creation. Thus, filmmakers have to spend their money wisely in bringing their cinematic tales to life on the silver screen. To that effect, the Erwin Brothers smartly utilized this knowledge in the movie’s creation; budgeting the various aspects of the background and genetic theatrical make-up that feel appropriate and genuine in the film’s narrative. So, all the various “behind the scenes” team / areas that I usually mention (i.e. production designs, set decorations, costumes, and cinematography, etc.) are all relatively good as I really don’t have much to complain (whether good or bad) about them. Again, they meet the industry standard for a faith-based movie. Additionally, the musical song parts are pretty good as well. As mentioned, I really didn’t know anything about Jeremy Camp, so I couldn’t say what songs of his were good, but the songs that are presented in the film were pretty decent enough to certain highlight points throughout the movie. Though they are somewhat short (assuming not the whole song is being played), but still effectively good and nice to listen to. Might have to check out a few of the real songs one day. Lastly, the film’s score, which was done by John Debney, fits perfect with this movie; projecting the right amount of heartfelt tenderness in some scenes and inspirational melodies of enlightenment in others. Unfortunately, not all is found to be pure and religiously cinematic in the movie as I Still Believe gets weighed down with several major points of criticism and execution in the feature. How so? For starters, the movie feels a bit incomplete in Jeremy Camp’s journey. What’s presented works (somewhat), but it doesn’t hold up, especially because the Erwin Brothers have a difficult time in nailing down the right narrative path for the film to take. Of course, the thread of Jeremy and Melissa are the main central focus (and justly so), but pretty much everything else gets completely pushed aside, including Jeremy’s musical career rise to stardom and many of the various characters and their importance (more on that below). This also causes the film to have a certain pacing issues throughout the movie, with I Still Believe runtime of 116 minutes (one hour and fifty-six minutes) feeling longer than it should be, especially with how much narrative that the Erwin Brothers skip out on (i.e. several plot chunks / fragments are left unanswered or missing). Additionally, even if a viewer doesn’t know of Jeremy Camp’s story, I Still Believe does, for better or worse, follow a fairly predictable path that’s quite customary for faith-based movie. Without even reading anything about the real lives of Jeremy and Melissa prior to seeing the feature, it’s quite clearly as to where the story is heading and what will ultimately play out (i.e. plot beats and theatrical narrative act progression). Basically, if you’ve seeing one or two Christian faith-based film, you’ll know what to expect from I Still Believe. Thus, the Erwin Brothers don’t really try to creatively do something different with the film…. instead they reinforce the idealisms of Christian and of faith in a formulaic narrative way that becomes quite conventional and almost a bit lazy. There is also the movie’s dialogue and script handling, which does become problematic in the movie’s execution, which is hampered by some wooden / forced dialogue at certain scenes (becoming very preachy and cheesy at times) as well as the feeling of the movie’s story being rather incomplete. There’s a stopping point where the Erwin Brothers settle on, but I felt that there could’ve more added, including more expansion on his music career and several other characters. Then there is the notion of the film being quite secular in its appeal, which is quite understandable, but relies too heavy on its religious thematic messages that can be a bit “off-putting” for some. It didn’t bother me as much, but after seeing several other faith-based movies prior to this (i.e. I Can Only Imagine, Overcomer, Indivisible, etc.), this particular movie doesn’t really rise to Cursed in Love and falls prey to being rather generic and flat for most of its runtime. As you can imagine, I Still Believe, while certainly sincere and meaningful in its storytelling, struggles to find a happy balance in its narrative and execution presentation; proving to be difficult in conveying the whole “big picture” of its message and Jeremey Camp’s journey. The cast in I Still Believe is a mixed bag. To me, none of the acting talents are relatively bad (some are better than others…. I admit), but their characterizations and / or involvement in the film’s story is problematic to say the least. Leading the film’s narrative are two protagonist characters of Jeremy Camp and Melissa Henning, who are played by the young talents of K.J. Apa and Britt Robertson respectfully. Of the two, Apa, known for his roles in Riverdale, The Last Summer, and The Hate U Give, is the better equipped in character development and performance as the young and aspiring musical talent of Jeremy Camp. From the get-go, Apa has a likeable charm / swagger to him, which make his portrayal of Jeremy immediately endearing from onset to conclusion. All the scenes he does are well-represented (be it character-based or dramatic) and certainly sells the journey that Jeremy undergoes in the movie. Plus, Apa can also sing, which does lend credence to many of the scene’s musical performance. For Robertson, known for her roles in Tomorrowland, Ask Me Anything, and The Space Between Us, she gets hampered by some of the film’s wooden / cheesy dialogue. True, Robertson’s performance is well-placed and well-mannered in projecting a sense of youthful and dewy-eyed admiration in Mellissa, especially since the hardships here character undergoes in the feature, but it’s hard to get passed the cringeworthy dialogue written for her. Thus, Robertson’s Melissa ends up being the weaker of the two. That being said, both Apa and Robertson do have good on-screen chemistry with each other, which certainly does sell the likeable / loving young relationship of Jeremy and Melissa. In more supporting roles, seasoned talents like actor Gary Sinise (Forest Gump and Apollo 13) and musician singer Shania Twain play Jeremey’s parents, Tom and Terry Camp. While both Sinise and Twain are suitable for their roles as a sort of small town / Midwest couple vibe, their characters are little more than window dressing for the feature’s story. Their screen presence / star power lends weigh to the project, but that’s pretty much it; offering up a few nuggets to bolster a few particular scenes here and there, which is disappointing. Everyone else, including actor Nathan Parsons (General Hospital and Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water) as musical talent and mutual friend to both Jeremy and Melissa, Jean-Luc Lajoie, young actor Reuben Dodd (The Bridge and Teachers) as Jeremy’s handicapped younger brother, Joshua Camp, and his other younger brother, Jared Camp (though I can’t find out who played him the movie), are relatively made up in smaller minor roles that, while acted fine, are reduced to little more than just underdeveloped caricatures in the film, which is a shame and disappointing.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The power of faith, love, and affinity for music take center stage in Jeremy Camp’s life story in the movie I Still Believe. Directors Andrew and Jon Erwin (the Erwin Brothers) examine the life and times of Jeremy Camp’s life story; pin-pointing his early life with his relationship Melissa Henning as they battle hardships and their enduring love for one another through difficult times. While the movie’s intent and thematic message of a person’s faith through trouble times is indeed palpable as well as the likeable musical performances, the film certainly struggles to find a cinematic footing in its execution, including a sluggish pace, fragmented pieces, predicable plot beats, too preachy / cheesy dialogue moments, over utilized religious overtones, and mismanagement of many of its secondary /supporting characters. To me, this movie was somewhere between okay and “meh”. It was definitely a Christian faith-based movie endeavor (from start to finish) and definitely had its moments, but it just failed to resonate with me; struggling to find a proper balance in its undertaking. Personally, despite the story, it could’ve been better. Thus, my recommendation for this movie is an “iffy choice” at best as some will like (nothing wrong with that), while others will not and dismiss it altogether. Whatever your stance on religious faith-based flicks, I Still Believe stands as more of a cautionary tale of sorts; demonstrating how a poignant and heartfelt story of real-life drama can be problematic when translating it to a cinematic endeavor. For me, I believe in Jeremy Camp’s story / message, but not so much the feature.

Carisi-centric thoughts on Ep 19x05
(a tiny bit late, because I’m already working on my new Barisi episode tag and I got distracted)
:D
Overall Thoughts
A half-decent episode, a strong vibe of “been there, done that,” and some very solid acting by regulars and guest actors alike. Not a complete snoozefest (though it did get progressively worse, somehow), but too predictable to be truly entertaining. I am sensing a bit of a slump, but right now we’re at a comfortably mediocre level I could live with, lol. Still, I’m hoping the show will bounce back with episodes that are a little more creative.
Case-Related Thoughts
Uh. Yikes? They see what is effectively a stick figure-like age progression sketch and immediately they’re all “IT’S HER!!!” and then they see footage of her taking the subway and immediately they’re all “WE’VE MADE A HUGE MISTAKE!!!” and then the brother’s story is a little off and they’re all “HE’S THE KILLER”.
Like, maybe show some restraint? Y’all are cops?
All of the drama could have been avoided, which is just poor writing. I mean, I laughed my ass off at “there are no orange groves in Pennsylvania”. That was their other big clue? Not the fact the girl refused to give a DNA sample but SVU released her into the custody of some random family regardless?
Speaking of, why on earth did they allow that girl to move in the family home literally 5 minutes after she was found? Was she even stable enough? And the continued refusal to give a DNA sample was certainly suspicious. Sure, the dad was covering up a crime, so his refusal to get the girl’s DNA tested rang true, but by that point it was already too late. They should have tested her DNA before they ever told the family. Why would they risk the emotional damage? To protect her, or respect her own privacy? Okay, but how about protecting the family as well? How about protecting the mother from the pain of losing her “daughter” twice? That’s the one parallel the episode failed to draw between the main case and Liv/Noah. Liv would never want to give that mother false hope.
Also, the son was acting way too creepy from the start. The dad did that a lot better (then again, Paul Schulze is always fantastic); his reaction was part creepy and part “maybe he’s being weird because he doesn’t believe that’s their daughter, but he doesn’t want to hurt his wife by saying that out loud”. Meanwhile, the son was practically all, “Yep. I did it. I don’t know who this random girl is, but she sure isn’t related to me. My actual sister is dead because I personally murdered her.”
Sonny and Continuity
Sonny crossing himself when finding dead bodies is a lovely touch, and I love that the show hasn’t forgotten his faith or his reverence for human life.
We got yet another random and unnecessary tidbit about Sonny's family life. All I’m gonna say is, I sure hope somebody in the writers’ room is keeping track of all this, because they're giving us 3 new tidbits every week and I feel like we're going to start getting conflicting info by episode 14. "So, when my pops was in the hospital for a month back in 2007, and I was in the waiting room, but also doing a student exchange program in Italy at the same time, and my oldest sister was pregnant with her first, but she also had a 3-year-old at home, and my mom was baking cookies for the nurses every Tuesday, but she had already been dead for 2 years, and...."
What is the point of all that? I appreciate the fact they’re trying to fill in some blanks, and Sonny has always been the type to overshare, so it does fit his personality, but it’s still kind of strange. Is Sonny stuck in the past, reminiscing literally at all times? Or do the writers want us to get to know him a little better? If so, why can’t he talk about his current life? Fill in those blanks? Or, even better, why not show us that current life? Lord knows we’re seeing enough of Liv’s life, but all the other characters have gotten nothing. Sonny and Barba especially had their one and only “personal” episode (one each) back in Season 16. It’s nice to hear about Sonny’s family, but it’d be nicer if we actually saw them :D
Sonny and Continuity Vol. II - Emotion
As I’ve said countless times, Sonny is always hit hard when the victims are younger, and I love the idea that a young-ish Sonny would have followed a missing child case even a decade ago (which would have made him how old? And was he a cop at the time? In college? In the Academy? A rookie? What year is it?) Especially since he was going through something emotionally traumatic, like having an ill parent. The ICU means his dad didn’t have it easy, so Sonny was probably worried and was trying to find an outlet for his stress (I’ve been there. Hell, I am there, that’s partly why I write these posts lol).
That said, I also loved seeing that Sonny’s sensitivity and attachment to children led him astray. It gave him false hope, and an overeagerness which is typical of him in general, but uncharacteristic of him as a cop; he usually has good instincts, but he’s also the cop who will triple-check every possible explanation before forming a working theory, so I liked seeing him get carried away. As sad as it was (because it was totally obvious he was wrong, since it was totally obvious the brother was guilty), I liked seeing him falter.
Not that he really faltered, or not that it was acknowledged.
I sincerely thought Sonny was going to get in trouble with a reporter (lol just kidding, of course that ended up being deleted) because he spoon-fed the girl various details she might not otherwise have known. There’s helpful questions and then there’s leading questions. Sonny was so excited about finding “little Em” that he let his emotions cloud his judgment. Again, that made sense, because he had a special attachment to this particular case, but I kept waiting for the payoff. I thought “Emma” would parrot the info Sonny fed her during her TV interview, or something. I kept expecting him to be reprimanded, later on. I wanted to see him acknowledge his mistake, and maybe even get punished for it. In a subtle way, maybe in a conversation with Liv, who would respect his guilt but would warmly yet sternly tell him not to get so easily excited in the future.
Except Sonny was punished via carrying a dead child. And I don’t know if that was even intentional (as a punishment) or accidental (most likely).
Sonny’s Punishment
As strong of a scene as it was, and not to get gory on ya, I gotta say, carrying a corpse like that after all those years? Wouldn't that girl be, like, a pile of bones at that point? And, dare I say, wouldn’t it have been more jarring and tragic if we had seen Sonny carrying an actual lump of remains, instead of an identifiable human shape? I would have gotten chills. But then, they wouldn't have been able to do the dramatic "carrying the body of a child" shot which...
Thank God Peter is such a good actor, and such an understated actor, at that. He is always given these dramatic-ass moments, but he never overacts, so he is able to bring some truth and some honesty to these otherwise melodramatic scenes. His performance is what grounds Sonny. I love how he goes big when the moment is more comedic, but he always shuts down and gives us these small, numb and nauseated expressions when the moment is tragic. The writing is heavy-handed enough, so a “bigger” performance would hurt its emotional impact.
I swear, sometimes it’s like the writers are trying to turn Sonny into this tortured, “vulnerable” version of a Gary Stu, since he has been the de facto male lead for so long, and there’s no one else around to do that sort of stuff, but Peter is valiantly playing him as a three-dimensional human being, because he’s a character actor at heart. As a viewer, I appreciate that.
If I had written this episode (which I wouldn’t have), instead of that entire “finding the remains” scene, I would have had the mother talk to Sonny after the trial, not Liv. I would have had the mother coldly tell Sonny, “I wish you’d never found her,” which would have been a great juxtaposition to “I look at you and I see the angel who found my daughter.” That would have been a more subtle way of punishing him, but just as much of a gut punch, and I’m sure Peter would have given us a reaction which would have been equally heartbreaking.
(WAIT SHOULD I PUT THAT IN MY BARISI EPISODE TAG? WHICH I’VE ALREADY STARTED WRITING? HELL YEAH I WILL. I don’t only fix the lack of Barisi, I also fix the missed opportunities for closure :D)
Stray Thoughts
Sucks that Fin was off for two weeks in a ro... wait he was in this episode? Oh okay.
Barba was underused again, but his face (and his voice!) when he asked if Liv was okay made his entire appearance worth it not really though, he needs more to do.
What was the brother convicted of? Wasn’t he a small-ish child when he killed his sister?
Girl: “Don't touch me!”
(Sonny approaches her with the clear intention of touching her)
Girl: “I said don’t touch me!
(Sonny keeps moving in her direction with his hands literally outstretched)
Girl: I SAID DON’T TOUCH MEEEE!!!!
*DUN DUN*
Oh, SVU, will you never learn? A “dramatic” moment doesn’t work it if it’s based on total contrivance.
The Noah storyline is getting predictable. Liv is going to start grudgingly trusting Sheila, despite her original (and correct) instincts, and then Sheila is going to pull something intense; kidnapping (in time for February sweeps, perhaps), or maybe making her case (to somehow vacate the adoption, which, lol) more legitimate by gathering “evidence” Liv is unfit to be a mother. You know Liv is going to get into trouble eventually, with a perp or a long case, and Off-Screen Lucy will be conveniently busy for once, and Sheila will volunteer to babysit, etc etc. That said, I loved that first courtroom scene. It’s always nice to see Langan, and Brooke Shields is very good (in setting up the fact she’s possibly deranged and will go awf later in the season)
Continuity has been better this season, but apparently it doesn’t reach back to the Stabler years, just to SVU 2.0. So I guess it’s understandable that they virtually redid an entire episode from SVU 1.0 and no one had any memory of it happening.
Amanda: “Liv’s going to bring in a reunification specialist.” (cut to Liv doing the reunification her own damn self) I love this show and its unintentional hilarity :D
Sonny’s sweet face when the parents thought they recognized their daughter? Peter is so good. He really broke my heart last night.
