Hey. So. See this?
I'm gonna now info dump about this AU. Also, a lil note, the reason why it probably sounds like a YouTube comment is because it's based on this all stars cover I found (I also posted this in the comments section.)
Anyways. Time to dip.
After the events of Mario Madness, Ultra M was just chilling with Omega. After a while a strange black void esque portal opens up. The two look up at it in confusion, before Ultra M gets bonked in the head by a.... Computer? And a blue flashdrive. Confused, they put the computer on a desk and inserted the flashdrive into the puter before turning it on. It was almost empty. There were hardly any applications on the computer. The only thing on it being... Friday Night Funkin. Except the icon for the game was red. Upon realizing what it is. Ultra M attempted to turn off the computer. But it refused. He tried to take the flashdrive out, and that failed too. He tried many other ways to get rid of the computer, and all of them failed. He then decides he should just walk away and- Wait, where's the door? In its place there was a message in bloody handwriting.
"IF YOU WANT TO LEAVE. PLAY THE GAME."
Eventually he gives up and realizes he's forced to play a possibly cursed version of FNF. He opens the game and at first, it seems... Normal. But he still had his suspicions. He plays the tutorial song and after beating it, the game seemed to have stopped responding. Before he could react, an arm comes out and pulls him into the computer alongside Omega. Once they were pulled in they fell on the stage that was from the tutorial and Week 1. Except, no one was around. It was completely empty. Ultra M looks around before he notices someone in the distance. Curious, he goes up to the figure. It looked like... Boyfriend. He taps the figure's shoulder and...
"Boo yeah... HAHAHA!"
It was a demonic version of Boyfriend?! Ultra M was surprised, though not shocked, the demonic Boyfriend (who'll be named BF.LMX) starts speaking. "HAHA! I genuinely didn't think I could get myself into your world! But here we are!" He then looks over at Omega and chuckled. "And it seems I brought ya lil furry slave along beh?" To which Omega grumbled at. BF.LMX was about to speak up again but suddenly M attempted to attack him with his abilities. Only to realize... He couldn't. "What's wrong big guy? Can't use ya powers?" BF.LMX taunted before speaking up again. "I don't think ya noticed this, but you're actually prrrreeeettttyyyy weak outside of ya world. You're an absolute beast in your realm, but here? Ya nothing more than a mutated Mario round these parts."
Ultra M grumbled before BF.LMX spoke up again. "I suppose I should just cut to the chase. Basically, ya killed the good me. The normal me. And I can't let that slide ya know? That good side of me allowed me to be contained here. But since he's dead, I can do whatever I want. And what better way to start then to terrorize the dude who killed the normal me?" He stated. "Lemme tell ya something real quick. I'm an omnipotent bastard. Just like you. I can do anything I want except leave the flashdrive I'm stuck in. And I have a lil deal for ya." He then pulls out his microphone. "Ya know how you usually have to beat three songs in each week? If ya can beat my ass in 3 songs, then I could let ya out of that lil cartridge hell Mr Dearest trapped ya in." Those words made M lit up in excitement, and LMX could tell. So he speaks again. "Ya seem excited bout that deal beh? So..." He throws a microphone at him. "Whaddya say?" M picks up the Microphone before agreeing. "Boo Yeah Haha! This'll be fun!" And so the first song starts. Funking Familiar (Name for Its-A-Me LMX Mix (It sucks I know)). Halfway through the song, LMX lets out a deafening laugh, and after that, the stage suddenly begins to levitate off the ground. Once the song ends. LMX let's out a laugh, before him, M and Omega are suddenly rap battling on a floating stage which then falls apart. Leaving them on their own platforms, the ground beneath them having been replaced with a toxic sludge. And the second song Rapping Rampage (Starman Slaughter LMX Mix) begins. A little while later, a messed up version of those weird background dancers from Week 4 shows up, playing a guitar. Shortly after that, LMX falls off the platform due to a knife and soon his versions of Nene and Darnell appear. Once their parts are done, they get hit in the head by microphones and they fall into the toxic sludge. And soon, LMX reappears, due to the sludge, not only did he lose a leg, but a bit of his face melted as well. Once the Song ends, LMX throws his Microphone at Ultra M and Omega's platform, causing them to fall. But just before they drown in the sludge, Omega grabs M by the arm, and using his raccoon powers carry him up into the air. LMX, enraged, goes after them, before he could get to them though, Omega uses a warp whistle he brought along to help him and M escape. As LMX watches them escape. He muttered under his breath. "Ya know what...? I might as well make ya both suffer the same way ya made THEM suffer... BOO YEAH HAHAHA!"

Last Monday of the Week 2023-10-23
Testing the limits of my kitchen
Listening: I've been using my enormous playlist of Japanese Jazz Fusion as background music at home. This is Galactic Funk by Casiopeia.
youtube
Reading: There's a great PBS video on insect metamorphosis that debunks the whole Butterfly Soup thing and explains the much, much more bizarre truth: even before they enter a chrysalis, caterpillars have started to develop butterfly parts inside their bodies. Big chunky caterpillars contain a half-built butterfly. Inside the chrysalis they simultaneously dissolve the remainder of the caterpillar parts and finish the butterfly on the existing scaffolding.
youtube
There's a great paper referenced in that video which is this one, which is about findings from time-lapsed 3D CAT scans (which I guess makes it 4D) of caterpillars as they pupate.
There's actually quite a few interesting papers on following metamorphosis with modern imaging technology, including a big old thesis that I have only just started to dig into and that I do not understand.
Watching: Nothing.
Playing: I got a little obsessed with Bullets Per Minute, a rhythm FPS roguelike. Well, more of a tempo FPS roguelike, since you have to fire, reload, jump and dash on a very regular 88bpm 4/4 rock/metal soundtrack. Here, I've cut some clips together.
Hell of a lot of fun, I've been in the market for a really fast paced shooter. I tried to replay Titanfall 2, which is good. I also had a good time playing Warframe missions I was way too high level for, eventually I remembered watching the ZeroPunctuation on this and picked it up.
BPM feels great and is also a really fascinating old-fashioned indie roguelike. The game has almost no tutorials, you just get dropped into levels. Items have absolutely bare minimum descriptions and no hard numbers, the fan wiki is full of notes very clearly the result of trying to puzzle out exact damage numbers and percentile improvements from the player side of the game.
It is not hostile though! Very forgiving accessibility options if you aren't great with rhythm and good difficulty modes. I've done two full clears on normal difficulty and like with most roguelikes, that was a product of familiarity and getting the Good Items early in my run (thank you infinite ammo + revolver)
Making: Made a full spec Wedding Meal (vegetable biryani, dal, and soji) for Friends over the weekend. Easier than I expected! A lot of prep but not actually that time consuming, as long as like me you're good chopping one million vegetables.
Also finished hacking on monctl to have a command line interface. It allows fast USB control of a Gigabyte monitor. I have started poking at Display Data Channel to better generalize monitor control because I want to get a second monitor soon but this works great for now.
Tools and Equipment: If you have a dishwasher you should pretty much always use it to wash, even if it's only half full. Your dishwasher probably uses under 12 liters of water to do a full wash cycle, less on Eco modes. You are almost never going to beat it for economy or sterilization, so the only things you should wash by hand are things you either cannot put in the dishwasher (e.g. cast iron) or things you need washed right now.

Hi! I've noticed that you've been really active lately. I was wondering if theres any tips you have on not getting burnt out? I try to keep a semi-consistent schedule but sometimes I can't push myself to create for weeks at a time.
Ooc time now, because this shits important to talk about.
No one can create constantly. You know what I’m usually doing when I go on my 2-3-6 week breaks? Staring at blank pages, scraping the barrel for ideas. Whatever you do, do not beat yourself up for it, only makes the hole you get stuck in worse. I say this from personal experience.
There are however things that can sometimes help you get back to creativity, some of these may help you, some might not, I’m just going off of what I have experienced here.
Shake it up. Go do something you’ve not done, take a road you dont go down normally, try a new flavour of ice cream, go out and try to just note all the small things you notice. Drippy taps, a cute cat, some nice flower in a garden, three yellow cars. Whatever really takes your attention. This sounds pretty dumb on paper sure, but part of why I stop is I stagnate, I settle into a routine and lose myself a bit. Getting out of your usual actions will sometimes bring something new to your attention, even if it’s only a small thing, and on occasion it’ll lead to a new idea.
Do some art or writing tutorials/workshops. Doesn’t matter what of, hell, copy the tutorial line for line if you gotta, just take one tiny thing, and home in on it. Recently I have just focused on that weird light you get on shallow water. That’s it. And from that alone it’s led me to some nice enough outcomes. Even if you learn that you don’t like certain processes, you’ve tried, and no doubt taken even one tiny small thing from it to pass to your next creation. Learning new stuff can really push away the mental barriers if you focus on stuff you’re interested in.
Enjoy yourself. REALLY hard to do when you’re beating yourself up over not doing enough, and even harder when someone (me) tells you to do it. You get caught up on how things aren’t being made constantly, how you’ve let projects become dusty, how this and that need finishing. But at the end of the day? Brain needs rest. You’re no doubt doing this as a passion project, or maybe even for actual money and as a career, either way, if you don’t enjoy the work, it will show. Life is far too short to focus on all the wasted time. So enjoy doing nothing, then it’s not wasted at all, right?
Me personally if I’m in a funk, reaching out to the community for responses and feedback really can be a idea generator. If I sat alone in my office and stared at a white screen waiting for the ideas to come, none of the drawings from the last two days would exist. They’re real because I got to interact with people and generate ideas as a collective, not a singularity. And this comes from the biggest social recluse you’ll ever meet, I HAAAAAATE group stuff, but actually sometimes it’s really effective.
If this all fails, I will just give in and play video games. Can’t stress enough, just enjoy the time, fighting it and trying to push for content makes it harder, taking that time out allows your mind to wander into areas it might not normally reach day to day. Your state of mind is not a permanent thing, it can change, you will come back to creativity when you’re ready.
Burn out is a bit of a pain, we all get it, but also everyone’s level of tolerance for constant creation is different, and measuring yourself against others will lead to self doubt and stress. You can do what you can do, some days it’s easy, some days it’s not, but it’s not forever, and reminding yourself mid-block that it’s going to end eventually, can sometimes help speed it up.
I get how hard it is to hear the age old ‘you gotta let it go a bit’ but it’s kind of true with this one. Use to frustrate the hell outta me to hear it, but now I look back at the artists I knew when I was younger, and get why they said it.
p.s. art challenges also help.

The Masked Singer Season 3 Episode 2: Group A Playoffs (Thoughts and Guesses)
Hello, my fellow Masked Singer lovers! Yesterday was the playoffs for Group A of The Masked Singer, where 5 masks compete for 4 spots in the championship round (where the top 3 go into the final 9), so you know what time it is: me giving my predictions and opinions (I am adding opinions on performances and stuff too since it will be boring for me repeating the same freaking guesses over and over again even though I am inserting my little direction of this week’s batch of clues). Ok, here we go!
Let’s start with the reveal of the day... **SPOILER ALERT Y’ALL** don’t say I didn’t warn you... The person who got eliminated was **DRUMROLL PLEASE**
The Llama
Who was revealed to be **AGAIN SPOILER I SAY**
DREW FREAKING CAREY (aka Price is Right dude... well that’s how I know him)
I guessed it!!! Peep my recap from Monday... I knew it guys, it was kind of obvious but here are his clues from this episode:
They had superlative clues after the performance and his was “Most Likely to be Near Firing Cannons” = he was in the Marine Corp Reserves
In the clue package, he was playing an accordion in front of a live studio audience, pointing to his shows that he has done in front of a live studio audience, like Price is Right and Whose Line is it Anyways.
As for my opinion on his performance, I thought it was an average performance so it was no shock that he went home. I think he is a really good singer for someone who isn't a professional singer. Honestly, his costume was hilarious and his run on the show was great, especially seeing him move his strap on booty lmao. (Btw the song he sang was It’s Not Unusual by Tom Jones)
Anyways, now that that's done, let’s get into the 4 remaining masks who I still need to guess.
1. The White Tiger
Ok so let’s start with the White Tiger’s Performance: He sang Good Vibrations by Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch and honestly, he isn’t a great vocalist, which is expected because he isn’t a professional vocalist at all. However, his dancing made the performance for me and kind of made up for the vocals he lacked (sorry but the guy can rap at the very least, he cannot sing, he could talk sing or rap but singing isn’t something he should be doing full time, which is completely fine because it isn’t for everyone and he seems like a cool guy, no shade). Anyways, yeah, having said that, this is who I believe he is:
ROB “GRONK” GRONKOWSKI
Why do you think that, you may ask? Well, take a look at the clues:
All throughout the clue package, he mentions that he “loves a good block party” and he loves to dance. Well, Gronk is very well known for his insane block parties as I said last week so everything is tying together here.
Picture of a cow skiing: pun on his last name: Gron-KOW-SKI get it?
Boombox in the clue package: Patriots went viral with a video of them dancing and celebrating their Super Bowl victory with a boombox blasting music
Superlative: Most Likely to go to the mat for a friend= he did do a wrestling match with one of his close friends
2. Miss Monster
Performance: Miss Monster performed Fancy by Reba McEntire and I gotta say I loved how her voice sounded with the song. Like, the song is a typical country song, but her voice isn't what you will associate with country music but the blend of both is so awesome to watch. You can tell that she is an experienced vocalist, kind of gives me the same vibe the Flower aka Patti LaBelle gave me last season, such an iconic vocalist. So, of course my guess has to be the legendary....
CHAKA KHAN
Ok so let’s look at the clues aka the reasoning behind my guess:
In clue package, we see a queen chess piece and she is the queen of funk as we mentioned last week.
Butterfly drawing = has a song called “Hot Butterfly”
Superlative: Most Likely to be in the presence of royalty = she did meet the queen in 2009 and she is royalty in the music industry
3. The Kangaroo
Performance: Kangaroo performed You Know I’m No Good by Amy Winehouse and wow that song was perfect for her like on point with her voice. Her voice is amazing, which I never expected from looking at the mask. Ok, so my guess for this one is....
JORDYN WOODS
Ok so, I have debated back and forth with this one, the only doubt I have is the voice because I have never ever heard her sing... I searched on YT and nothing popped up of her singing, which is odd. It would make sense if her voice was like the llama or the white tiger, good but not amazing. However, she sounds like a professional singer so idk but these clues add up:
In the beginning of the clue package, it says “Kangaroo Kourt,” which could be alluding to her previous association with the Kardashians
We see makeup in the bench and Jordyn did have a makeup collaboration with Kylie Cosmetics and does makeup tutorials on YouTube
Also, she made a Fresh Prince reference saying she wanted a “fresh start” while playing basketball because her father was a sound engineer on that show.
Superlative: Most Likely to Appear in a List with Seal and Mike Tyson... what I have seen about this is that this is a list of celebrities with gap teeth (which she has since fixed with dental work)
4. The Turtle
Performance: I am gonna say it, Turtle is literally my favorite singer in this group of masked celebrities. He is so smooth and his voice is like butter. He sang “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur and I am sure everyone in the audience was in a trance after that performance. His voice is so amazing, but also so recognizable which is why I think he is the one, the only, the ever so dreamy...
JESSE MCCARTNEY
Ok so I am so sure about this, you cannot change my mind, but if you insist, we’ll look at the clues:
In the clue package, there’s a menu with Ginger Snaps= his mother is named Ginger; Slow Cooked Beets= had a band called Sugar Beats before Dream Street
Also, there is something written on the chalk board that says “Don’t Rave Ever At My School Turtle,” which if you take the first letters of each word, spell out DREAM ST, the name of his former boy band back in the day.
Another thing I found interesting was that he was the voice of Leonardo in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which could be the source of inspiration for the costume he’s wearing.
Superlative: Most Likely to Hunt for Booty = Pirates = he did a couple of acting roles and his first movie was a pirate movie
Ok, so that is it! Thank you for reading my little recap/commentary/deep dive on the Masked Singer! I’ll see you guys next week with some more guessing and reveals. Bye!

My top 20 albums of 2019
As 2019 is in its final month, we're not only about to experience the end of the year, but also the end of a decade filled with amazing music, ground-breaking albums and self-made musical geniuses. We've had some fantastic years, such as 2012, 2014 and 2016 for album releases and this year definitely rivals all of those beforementioned with the quality and quantity of records we had. There was such a great quantity of amazing albums this year that I had to change my original plans of a top 15 list and move it up to a top 20 list, just due to the saturation of projects. Before starting off the list, I'd like to give my honourable mentions to some great albums which would've made the list in quite a few other years: Charli XCX - Charli; clipping. - There Existed an Addiction to Blood; Charles Irwin - Singles (308). I'd strongly advise to check these out as well as the ones I'm about to list off and with that said, let's get going!
20. Solange - When I get Home A project showing her versality, with music ranging from smooth jazz and blues-inspired vibes to Gucci Mane and Playboi Carti features, Solange once again showed a fantastic ear for production and how amazing her voice really is, without putting it in your face and demanding your attention. Instead the album is like a long, carefree day in mid-April, with Solange's voice giving you an amazing vocal experience.
19. Billy Woods & Kenny Segal - Hiding Places Ranking much lower than last year, the underground New-York genius of Billy Woods once again showcases his amazing talent for rough and grimy delivery combined with industrial, eerie production. The project is very personal for Billy, as he gets very real about his fears and anxieties and even takes a spin for the existential as the talented lyricist raps about his mortality, creating a very unsettling and uncomfortable listen, nonetheless keeping you entertained for the whole duration of the album.
18. Blood Orange - Angel's Pulse A much shorter project this year than last year's Negro Swan, Devonte released a very raw mixtape, presented as a radio-cut, with sudden transitions and unexpected topic changes. The tape is presented with very groovy production, creating the feeling of a warm summer day, but Blood Orange does keep close to discussing personal topics about his anxieties, insecurities and political worries.
17.Injury Reserve - Self-Titled Definitely not Injury Reserve's first project, but their official studio-album debut, it really lets the odd trio's strengths shine, with its chaotic production, personal bars and focus on making it out of the regular 9-5 life. Full off innovative ideas, such as the song "Rap Song Tutorial" which is true to its name, the album also includes fantastic features such as Rico Nasty, Jpegmafia and Freddie Gibbs, with its main strength being the difficulties of keeping the balance between being a rapper and a regular person.
16. EARTHGANG - Mirrorland The Atlanta duo's debut-album, Mirrorland is very witty and cheerful, capturing the story of Doctur Dot and Johnny Venus's come up in the ATL. Full of quirky and whimsical ideas, the record really does remind listeners of Atlanta's OutKast, with EARTHGANG's very own personality and spin to it, with very playful bars and captivating singing, beats with multi-cultural inspirations, such as on "Tequila" and banging trap production, the album is a fantastic mirror to the duo's potential.
15. Ariana Grande - thank u, next Carried by the freedom and carelessness of Ariana's voice, thank u, next is an album inspired by her romantic experiences through her life, addressing Mac Miller, Pete Davidson and her need for sexual freedom. The project explores the insecurities she has experienced with herself and acts as an assertion of Grande's confidence in herself as a woman, creating a huge emotional range during the 12 tracks.
14. KAYTRANADA - BUBBA A return to form for KAYTRANADA after a 3 year hiatus, this was an amazing funky and playful R&B project, blessed with fantastic features. The record really does just make you want to dance along and move to the groove, with its defining feature being each song's simplicity, letting the right elements to shine - like in 10% with Kali Uchis with the sexiness of her voice. Don't let the simplicity of the sound fool you, as BUBBA is full of complex production and small elements and samples that you might miss on the very first listen.
13. YBN Cordae - The Lost Boy Another studio-album debut, YBN Cordae really shows an amazing knack for sticky bars and storytelling, backed by the fantastic production of of a team overseen by J. Cole and feature assassins such as Pusha-T and Anderson. Paak. Although occassionally a bit too corny, the project paints a fantastic picture of his persona and puts the light on a young talent, emerging in the mainstream.
12. Ari Lennox - Shea Butter Baby One of the best neo-soul projects in the past few years, Shea Butter Baby really wraps around you with its warmth and nostalgia and brings back fond memories of kicking it back on a couch with your friends. Full of amazing jazz and funk samples, the slow pace and easygoing melodies really put you in a carefree state of mind and create a chilled out vibe.
11. Flying Lotus - FLAMAGRA This might be a difficult album for some, but FlyLo once again shows an amazing talent for creating songs from scratch, with a very psychedelic jazz-funk vibe. Each song telling its own story, with the feeling that each second of the album matters, FLAMAGRA's biggest strength is its spiritual element, giving off an energy that touches your soul, if you grasp deep enough within yourself to feel it.
10. Jpegmafia - All My Heroes are Cornballs Much tamer than last year's Veteran, Jpegmafia's last album has a very experimental R&B feel to it, but that does not mean that it doesn't sound like pure musical chaos. Showing a surprising vocal versatility, Peggy raps, sings and screams, keeping true to his "Fuck PC Culture" bars and nasty punchlines. Each song has a very manic and wild energy to it, with the album sounding like structured anarchy.
9. Free Nationals - Self-Titled A modern take on classic soul and jazz, Anderson. Paak's Free Nationals crafted a very sexy, intensive album, that gives a feel that there's no hurry for anywhere and everything will happen in due course. The sensual record can easily be described as baby-making music and has handpicked seductive features like Kali Uchis, Daniel Caesar and Syd to underline that vibe.
8. Anderson. Paak - Ventura Very much a modern take on a soul record, Anderson. Paak really creates a feel of time-stopping whilst listening to the project's songs. Paak wearing his influences on his sleeve on this one, you can really feel the vibrant melodies and groovy emotions, with the amazing funkiness of Ventura also having a very sensual feel to it, thanks to the thoughtfully picked out features and background vocals.
7. Mereba - The Jungle is the Only Way Out An album that I believe didn't get enough attention, Mereba's latest release is a very conscious R&B project, full of beautiful darkly-toned synths and very slow and jammy folk. The topics range from facing your vices, to the overwhelming emotions of seeing your lover and the self-realization that people's opinion ain't shit. Her voice is absolutely stunning and authentic, with it giving off the feel of her being uncertain and lost with each song.
6. Denzel Curry - ZUU Denzel never misses and this is fact once again - releasing his most dynamic record to date, Zuu goes back to Zel's roots of South Florida. In it he reminisces about his come-up and relationships with his family and friends and the project stays true to its nature with the features being only rappers from the area. Although very party-focused, ZUU has a wide range of songs, with boom-bap, trap, soundcloud rap and even having slower, more introspective jams to it.
5. Rapsody - Eve Eve is a love letter, celebrating the success of the black woman. Rapsody absolutely peaks her musical versatility and rapping potential, crafting an amazing classic hip-hop album, full of creative bars, alluring samples and a very socially engaged range of topics. The record's strengths create a vivid picture of why successful women need to be appreciated and cannot be given enough credit in its impact for the female side of hip-hop culture.
4. slowthai - Nothing Great About Britain A very heavily punk-inspired record, Tyler clashes with the UK's upper class in this project, exploring the difficulties of the everyday life in the UK's working class with cynical and sarcastic bars, full of energetic and grimey production. The topics in the cleverly titled record go into detail about the class bracket gap, widening poverty, political uncertainities and the average briton's arrogance. The album is full of witty jokes and very direct humor and thai does very well to paint the picture of a realistic Great Britain.
3. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Bandana Arguably one of the best produced albums of all time, Madlib and Gibbs really pull eachother deep in their worlds and crafted a geniusly produced project. Celebrating black freedom, the record shines on Freddie's talent for grimey and nimble rapping, with him changing cadence again and again, whilst Madlib's gift for erratic production and turning classic jazz and funk songs into off the wall earworms and samples turns this into a spiritual experience.
2. Little Simz - GREY AREA I'm kind of pissed off I put this at number two, just due to how good it is. Simz's coming of age album is a wicked, erratic record full of witty bars, discussion of social themes and goes between grimey, rough production and introspective, jazzy vibes, making for great entertainment. The record is a very open window to her life and the difficulties she's had as a woman and is crafted in such a masterful way, that even if you're not catching the lyrics, you'll feel the album's emotions just by listening to the production.
1. Danny Brown - uknowhatimsayin¿ This project finishes a cycle of Danny for me personally - starting off with his rockstar, crackhead phase with XXX and the consequences of his drug-induced party life in Atrocity Exhibition, his latest project is the maturest face of Danny we've ever seen. Overseen by Q-Tip as an executive producer, uknowhatimsayin¿ is very free-flowing compared to his previous records, topped off with irregular beats and unnerving samples, keeping true to Danny Brown's personality. The project is the culmination of his rap career, as he addresses the need he had to get his life together, get out of the rut he was in and grow up. He uses his cadence and snapiness to make the point of him being grown up, but still being the dude who can do what the fuck he wants.

Reposting @productionmusiclive:⠀ ...⠀ "Yes, you got us - we wanted to post something with a ghost today. ⠀ The word “ghost” is pretty common in the music production community - ghost kicks (check our feed post from 2 days ago), ghost productions (of course nobody does that) or todays post about ghost notes.⠀ ⠀ Ghost notes are those almost unrecognizable drum hits or barely strum guitar or bass strings, that often make a song groove a lot more.⠀ Originally derived from the blues and funk lords back in the day, ghost notes tear down walls to modern productions - or they flew right through them (hahaa). The velocity of MIDI notes can be adjusted, until you start to just “feel” the samples, but can not completely hear them.⠀ ⠀ Tip 1: play off⠀ Ghost notes or blue notes are said to be the backbone of groovy jazz and funk songs, by adding a percussive layer, where there used to be only long precise notes.⠀ When editing your next drum beat, try placing a lot of short snare hits on off beats (8ths notes is a good length to start) and turn the velocity down all the way. Now start bringing it up again, until you get the feeling, that the groove is enhanced, but without really hearing them.⠀ Also try using a different snare sample for the ghost notes.⠀ ⠀ Tip 2: choke notes⠀ Especially when it comes to the bass, ghost notes can make the whole song.⠀ Try to find two bass samples (or create them yourself), where one has a lot of mid and high frequencies in it and the second one with a high cut. Try to play around, which one is more suited for the main bass and let the other one play very short notes on the same key, but with a lot less velocity. This will create a more elaborate groove fast.⠀ ⠀ As a Halloween special, we give you a limited time offer of 27%! Learn African Bass Guitar | Play Congolese Sebene | World Music Method
Study The African Bass
why should i Learn African Music?
At the point when the vast majority consider Africa, they ponder the rhythms and percussion that overwhelm the mainland's way of life. They consider music that is made for moving. Overwhelming music! Aside from the perpetual assortment of dance music played in Africa itself, such countless classes from the Americas that we know and love – funk, reggae, soul, ska, zouk, cumbia, merengue, child, samba and so on and so forth – all offer an African beginning.
Soukous Bass Guitar Course:
My name's Edd Bateman, and I've been playing bass expertly with African groups for more than 20 years. Over the course of the following 4 days, I'll send you a mix of free day by day African low pitch guitar exercises with recordings, documentation and soukous backing tracks.
Soukous is the Congo's predominant well known dance music style. It has an incredible driving beat that supports a considerable lot of Africa's famous public dance styles, for example, sungura from Zimbabwe, and roadster décalé from Ivory Coast. On account of soukous' wide allure and vital impact, it's fundamental that each African bass fan fosters a legitimate comprehension of this general African musicality.
Sebene Bass Tutorials :
In Congolese music, the full-power dance area is known as the sebene. Hope to hear a moment shift in energy the second it kicks in; with guitars taking off into profoundly mind boggling high register songs; the drummer moving to demolish cavache or sebene rhythms with military accuracy on the catch; and up to five singers dumping melodic ensembles and moving to short sharp musical embellishments, known as atalaku, to start up the group. In the interim, the bass, still in its steady job, drives the music on with exceptionally vivacious thumb-lead lines that progressively cross each of the four strings, loaded with unobtrusive passing expressions and complexities.
Definitive, connecting with and truly fun, our online African Bass instructional exercises will open up a totally different melodic world, and give you the way to dominating numerous incredible contemporary dance music styles.

Make A Beat Drop On Garageband
Learn how to make a Crazy DROP in Garageband in Minutes in Garageband on your iPad or iPhone!Follow me on Spotify:https://open.spotify.com/artist/1gwjjVWrSPh.
To mix a beat in Garageband: 1) Drop all VU meters to -15dB. 2) Adjust each VU meter so it sounds good without clipping or passing +0dB. 3) Use Compressor, EQ, and effects presets. 4) Add Automation and Panning. 5) Export the Track as a.aif file. 6) Drag it into a new project for mastering.
In this tutorial today, I’m going to show you how to make a quick hip-hop beat in Garageband. Will it be the most sophisticated beat in the world? No, it will not, because, I’m not the greatest producer, and all I can do is show you how I do things. Hopefully, you can learn something from me.
In which I make a progressive house drop in Garageband, and accidentally make a tutorial on EDM production basics in the process.Subscribe for more electroni.
Assuming you’re an absolute beginner, this tutorial should save you a fair amount of time in terms of avoiding common mistakes, like not turning off the Auto-Normalize function in Garageband’s preferences (my tutorial on that). I’ll give you a brief summary of how to make a beat, and then we’ll explore a more in-depth way, so how would you go about making a beat in Garageband?
To make a beat in Garageband, choose a melodic Apple Loop by clicking on the Loops icon that looks like a hose on the right-hand side of Garageband. Then, use the command, ⌥ + ⌘ + U, to bring up a Drummer Track and use one of the Hip-Hop drummers, Dez, Anton, or Maurice.
This is undoubtedly the simplest way of quickly creating a beat in Garageband, however, I’m going to show you the real way of going about it – the way that it’s actually unique. This is my way of making a hip-hop beat using my own individual style. It may not be your style of music, but maybe it’ll help you understand how people go about making songs. Before we begin, I’ll give a brief explanation of what I consider to be hip-hop as well as some of its parameters.
by the way, I have a list of all the best products for music production on my recommended products page, including the best deals, coupon codes, and bundles, that way you don’t miss out (you’d be surprised what kind of deals are always going on).
Features Of Hip-Hop
Hip-hop, like metal, rock, and many other genres, has a ton of sub-genres and dynamic differences between each other.
Therefore, in my opinion, there’s no point in saying that it has to sound a certain way – because it doesn’t.
In the past, there were many beats that had kind of a major/happy sound and there are many minor sounding beats of varying stylistic characters such as jazz, soul, funk, country, and even rock.
Moreover, hip-hop utilizes a ton of soul and funk samples from the 1960s and 1970s like James Brown, Funkadelic, Parlament, and so on and so forth.
Perhaps my favorite example is Kanye West’s song, “Touch The Sky,” created by Lupe Fiasco, which uses Curtis Mayfield’s legendary soul tune, “Move On Up.” You can do the same thing with Garageband’s sampler too as I’ve shown before in my article and in the short video down below:
The great part of hip-hop, like rock music, is that it’s versatile, so as long as you have a melody and a rhythm section, a rapper can probably spit bars over it. To get good at it, follow some of the tips in my songwriting article.
Before continuing, make sure you’ve downloaded all of the available sounds. To do that, just go into Garageband’s Preferences, and go to “Sound Library,” and then choose the option, “Download All Available Sounds.”
Without further ado…
How To Make A Hip-Hop Song In Garageband
The first thing that you want to do is open up Garageband.
1) Open up Garageband.
2) Select the hip-hop template.
The first thing that shows up is the Trap Door template, and the drummer’s name apparently is Dez. Personally, I hate the sound of the Trap Door pre-sets, so I avoid it at all costs.
It can be doctored to sound good, in my opinion, by decreasing the complexity of the fills and also choosing the “Simple” setting by dragging the little yellow ball to the left, or changing the actual kit of the pre-set. Another amazing tool to have for making beats is Initial Audio’s 808 Studio II (from Plugin Boutique), which is obviously a bass synth/808 tool.
Around half of the instruments that Garageband gives you sound good, with the “Steinway Grand Piano,” Deep Sub Bass,” “808 Bass,” “Vox Box Lead,” and the “String Ensemble” being the most important and useful, although, there are many others for hip-hop as I’ve pointed out before.
If you’re using iOS Garageband on the iPhone I recommend the most from Amazon, there are even more sounds to choose from, but either way, the “Arctic Noise Lead” is definitely a popular choice.
3) Go ahead and choose the “Flute” option under “Vintage Mellotron,” the “Jazz Organ,” the “Scream Lead” from the synthesizer section, as well as the “String Movements” from the Soundscapes option.
Also, choose the “Beat Machine” drum-kit under the Electronic Drum Kit section.
4) First Melody (Chord Progression) – (Jazz Organ)
For this particular track, “Spaceship Underwater,” the very first thing is that I made the chord progression with the “Jazz Organ,” which is just a C Minor with an added 9th and an Eb Major with an added 9th.
You can give the final track a listen here:
Cmin9 = C, Eb, G, D
Ebadd9 = Eb, G, Bb, F
Both of these chords belong to the Key of G Minor.
Here are all of the chords of G Minor (relative minor of Bb Major):
i – G Minor – G-B-D iiº – A Diminished – A-C-Eb III+ – Bb Major – Bb-D-F iv – C Minor – C-Eb-G v – D Minor – D-F-A VI – Eb Major – Eb-G-Bb VII – F Major – F-A-C
In case you haven’t seen the scale degrees before and how they look, know that the lower-case roman numerals., “i,” mean Minor, and the upper-case numerals, “V,” mean Major.
***To learn more about theory, go over to Music Theory’s website, or pick up Mark Sarnecki’s book on theoryfrom Amazon as well as the answer book which is equally as important.
The “+” means augmented and the “º” means diminished.
If these words are scary don’t worry about it. Just pay attention to the letters of the chord, “GBD.”
Check out the diagram I created of the “Musical Typing” below if you’re totally unfamiliar of where the notes of the Piano lie, but if I were you, I would eventually get a copy of PianoForAll from their site because it’ll help a lot as well.
When I build beats, I pretty much always start with the melody and then I build the drums, bass, and everything else afterward.
5) Second Melody – (Screamlead Synth)
Because I know that I’m in the Key of G Minor, there are certain notes available to me that will sound “correct.” They are the following:
G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, F.
The relative Major of G Minor is actually Bb Major, which means they are the same notes, just played in a different order and having a different root note or tonal center.
Here is the Bb Major scale:
Bb, C, D, Eb, F, G, A
asically, after I built the chord progression, I loaded up an instrument that sounded cool and started playing around with it on my MIDI Keyboard.
I usually start with an Ehru, Piano, or another instrument with a sound I love. The reasoning for this, as an artist, is for the inspiration.
In this case, I chose the Screamlead instrument, which you’ll find in the Lead subcategory within the Synthesizer section.
Here’s an image of how the second most important melody of the song looks in the MIDI work-space:
Tip: Always use instruments, plug-ins, arpeggiators, and other tools that inspire you to play.
That’s what being a musician is all about, frankly. It’s the same thing with playing the guitar or another instrument. You have to buy a piece of equipment that actually inspires you to play.
After I built the second melody using the “Screamlead” instrument, I went into the Software Instrument’s settings and messed around with it until it actually sounded cool.
At first, as I said before, it was the Pipu, but I couldn’t use that because I already made a track using it recently and I didn’t want to get too repetitive.
I turned it into a Screamlead, and then adjusted the settings of it.
In the image below, you can see all of the different settings for it, including, Glide, Sub, Shape, Depth, Harmonic, Overdrive, Delay, as well as a bit of Reverb.
The part I changed the most was the “Glide” option as well as the “Shape.” That’s what gave it the sound that is completely different from the stock version of it.
Another big change I made was with the “Harmonic” option. I turned that bad boy all the way down.
5) Third Filler Melody – (Delicate Bells)
For the third melody, I simply used it as a filler, a way of filling out the rest of the track and adding a little bit of “Body” or character to the sound.
I used Delicate Bells, and I copy and pasted the track from the Screamlead and dropped it into the Delicate Bells track.
It was a one-two process, and I turned it down fairly significant so as not to take too much attention away from the rest of the more important instruments.
I also EQ’d it a little bit as well. For this section, I implemented a Low-Pass (a concept I’ve explained before), so in other words, I eliminated all of the highest frequencies. This EQ setting looks like this:
6) Fourth Melody (Flute)
Perhaps the most important melody of this song was the flute, rather than the initial chord progression and melody.
The flute is the part that repeats through the entirety of the song, and I loved the way it sounds. I think it was a nice touch, however, the flute you get through Native Instruments’ Komplete 13 from their website is way better than what comes with Garageband.
The funny part about the flute melody here is the fact it’s simply three notes but played at two different octaves. It’s easily the LEAST sophisticated part of the entire track.
It goes to show that sophistication is not necessary at all, in fact, this plays into improvisation as a musician as well. It’s easy to get caught up in all of these incredibly convoluted details, but frankly, there’s simply no need.
A good question to ask yourself is: does this make the music sound good? Does this contribute to the entirety of the song?
Moving on to arguably the most important part of a hip-hop song: the drums and the Boutique 808 pattern.
I think, perhaps, a crucial detail to add here is the fact that the drums and boutiques are actually the most important part for music producers but not for the listener.
Listeners don’t care about EQing the snare as you do, they just want to hear a great melody and beat.
7) Drums (Kick, Snare and Hi-Hats)
Obviously, music producers have different ways of going about this. Many actually “draw” their music, by adding individual notes and so on and so forth in the “Piano Roll.”
To begin drawing in the Piano Roll, double-click (right-click) in the workspace and select the option, “Create Empty MIDI Region.” This will make a file in which you can start dropping notes (more on the piano roll in my guide).
Truth be told, I don’t do this.
I find this kind of thing to be, actually, annoying and not that fun.
I played guitar for my entire life before I started using a DAW, so I’m all about playing from the heart and improvising on the spot.
What I do, is I open up the Musical Typing (Garageband’s keyboard – Command + K), and I just start jamming on the Kick and Snare, trying to come up with a pattern that I’ve never used before but also sounds very good.
Usually, the Kick and Snare is loaded at the C3 level on Garageband’s Musical Typing, so I just hammer on the “C” and “D” note, or as it says on the actual laptop Keyboard, the letters “A” and “S.”
If you’re using a MIDI-Keyboard, it’ll likely be the very first C and D on the left-side of the Keyboard.
After I’ve built a cool sounding Kick and Snare pattern, I usually begin adding the other details.
8) Shaker
I’ve been actually using the Shaker function quite a bit lately. I feel like it’s a nice touch to the sound.
And for the most part, I either add the hi-hats on every single beat, or I add it about half-a-beat after the Snare Drum. I think it sounds cool.
I use the shaker – and this is a great thing to keep in mind for producing all kinds of drum-centric music – to keep the beat at a more consistent pace.
Many producers use the Kick, Snare, or the Hi-Hat as a way to keep time.
For me, using the Shaker is good for that, because it’s not too intrusive or obstructing. In other words, it doesn’t take too much attention away from other sounds, instruments, and melodies.
A snare or kick can be quite aggressive.
9) Bass
This is arguably the most important part of hip-hop production, and frankly, I’m not the greatest at it, so you may want to check out another person’s tutorial to figure out how to make great Boutique 808s and bass-lines.
As I explained in this article about Boutique 808s, there are many different ways of drawing/playing bass-lines, as well as EQ-tactics and methods for making it sound good.
Make sure to check out the article at the above link to see what I’m talking about.
For the sake of this tutorial, however, I’ll outline what I did for “Spaceship Under Water.”
The first thing that I do when I build a bass-line is I usually think about the chord progression and melody, that way I can draw a bassline that is actually on-key.
Many producers struggle with building a bass-line that’s on-key due to the limitations of the human ear. It’s pretty hard to hear the lowest frequencies, so a good way of getting around it is the following:
Tip: Try making a bass-line with the Bass turned up 1 or 2 octaves, that way you can find out if the bass is truly in the proper key signature.
Another thing that you can do is treat the bass as if it’s a melody of its own, and create maybe a piano melody, but then change the software instrument track into the Deep Sub Bass synth or the Boutique 808s.
Moving on…
I typically outline the notes of the chord in order to create the bassline. For example, I know that in this track there are two primary chords that lie as the song’s foundation: Cmin9 and Ebadd9.
These two chords, as I mentioned above, belong to the key of G Minor, where these are the following notes of the scale, G, A, Bb, C, D, Eb, and F.
Cmin9 = C, Eb, G, D
Ebadd9 = Eb, G, Bb, F
If I’m going to make a bassline, I would focus on the C note and the Eb note, just as a starter to see how that sounds. C and Eb are the root notes of the aforementioned chords.
After that, I’d play around with the G Minor scale, whose notes I listed above, and I’d see if I could make something out of that. However, usually I crave a little more out of the bassline, and most other people do as well.
Most people would argue that the main purpose of the bassline, whether it’s Boutique 808 or a bass guitar, is to hold the rhythm down of the song, so to speak.
It’s a way of solidifying the groove and flow of the track. It’s like strengthening its backbone.
Without bass, the song wouldn’t have the same “fullness” about it. It would sound likely more empty and hollow. Those lower frequencies really complete and warm-up the song.
In this case, I was struggling to come up with a bass-line that fulfilled that role, so I ended up just outlining the notes of the chords and keeping it very simple.
Sometimes, simplicity is where it’s at.
The final thing to note is the fact I copy and pasted the notes of the Kick Drum into the Deep Sub Bass track, that way I had a reference point for when the Kick and Snare hits.
As I wrote about in my 808s article, if you want your bassline to hit hard, which is arguably the most coveted aspect of hip-hop production, then it’s essential that you line your kick drum with the Boutique 808s or Deep Sub Bass Synthesizer.
You can check out the image below of the Deep Sub Bass to see how I did that:
11) Volume Control
One last final thing to note before we get into the next section: I did a volume fade at the beginning of the song for the flute section.
How To Make A Beat Drop On Garageband
In my automation tutorial, I explained that In order to do that, you hit the ‘A’ button on the track for “Automation.”
You’ll notice right away that the yellow automation lines will pop up.
By clicking on the line, you’ll drop automation points and then you can drag the line around according to how you want to adjust the volume.
Check out the picture below to see what I did for that particular track.
Moving on to the Exporting, Mixing, and then Mastering stage…
12) Export As AIFF
Now that the song is pretty much completed, we can move on to the easiest stage: the “exporting stage.”
For this part, make sure that absolutely none of your tracks are clipping (going into the red), otherwise, it’ll sound terrible later on.
Make A Beat Drop On Garageband Roblox
As a general rule, you want your volume tracks to be going into the yellow only during the loudest parts of the song. It’s cool if the tracks ride in the green the entire time.
Also, turn down the Master Volume to +0.0. I haven’t heard anyone say this matters at all, but for me, it absolutely does.
Make sure the Master Volume is at zero, otherwise, your track won’t mix and master properly.
Make sure there are no plug-ins running on your master track as well.
To do that, go down into the Smart Controls and click on the button that says. “Master,” among the other two options, “Track,” and “Compare.”
You’ll see the list of the plug-ins, and make sure they’re all turned off.
It’s ok if you have plug-ins running on the individual tracks, but you don’t want any on the master channel, from what I’ve been told anyway.
At this stage, your track is nearly ready for export. Listen to the whole thing and make sure all of the instruments sound good, and exactly as you want them to.
Keep in mind, when you go to master the track, some of the other sounds may sound accentuated. For that reason, I typically turn down the sound of the hi-hats, shakers, and other high-frequency instruments.
Explained in another way, If you plan on using compression and an EQ boost, some of the higher frequency instruments, such as the hi-hat or cymbals, tend to make that hissing sound.
For that reason, consider turning the volume down on the individual tracks.
a) Click on the option, “Share,” in Garageband’s Toolbar at the top
b) and then click the option, “Export to Disk,” from there,
c) hit the AIFF check-box,
d) name your track
e) and then export it on to your desktop that way you can simply drag and drop it into the DAW.
From this stage, we can actually drag and drop the AIFF file right back into the DAW among all of the other software instrument tracks.
f) Hit the “Solo” button on the track that looks like a pair of headphones to isolate the song.
The reason for this is that we’ll check and see that our track isn’t clipping it all, and we give it a general test to see what it’s going to sound like after we add a compressor, channel EQ, and so on and so forth.
Now that we can see there’s nothing wrong with the track and it isn’t too loud, we’ll move on to the mixing stage.
g) Start a new project.
11) Mixing.
I’m by no means an expert mixing engineer, so just keep that in mind, but for this stage, I actually don’t do a lot to it. I showed more of the process in my guide on mixing beats. In his book on Amazon, Bobby Owsinski and some of the engineers explain that there doesn’t always need to be a lot done to a mix.
I usually add a Channel EQ, a compressor or Multipressor, and then maybe a Limiter as well just in case.
a) Channel EQ
As you can see by the image below, I cut the lowest and highest frequencies, dropped the 205hz frequency by -3.5 dB, and then gave the song a bit of a boost by 3dB or so starting from the range of 500hz to 10,000 kHz.
I also gave it a small boost to around 35hz.
b) Multipressor
For the multipressor, I just used the “Final Hip Hop Compressor” pre-set which dropped the gain by around -3.6dB.
I really like the way the multipressor sounds. I find it gives the track quite a bit of punchiness.
*In the YouTube version of this song, I used a compressor instead of a multipressor, but on my SoundCloud, I used the multipressor version.
c) Limiter
As I wrote in my article about limiting, the limiter acts as a compressor with an extremely high ratio, or in other words, it’s a “brick wall” in which no frequencies can pass through.
Using the limiter, we’ll boost the overall volume of the track by +3.0dB, and then we’ll set the output level at -0.2dB.
How To Make A Beat Drop On Garageband Mac
The gain is best increased by just 1, 2, or 3 dB because then we’re not pushing it too hard.
Regarding the Output Level knob, technically, the point past 0dB is the point of distortion according to what I’ve read.
If we have it set at -0.2dB, then we don’t have to worry about the song exceeding that point and thus, creating distortion.
Because of the way the limiter works, a lot of people like to use it as a volume-increaser at the end of the mixing process.
Make A Beat Drop On Garageband Free
However, it’s much better thought of as a tool that we can use to ensure no undesirable sounds are heard in the mix.
12) Final Step
Ensure the volume of the track is consistent with other music you’ve created.
If you have an album on your phone and you hook it into a Bluetooth speaker at someone’s house, you want the tracks to be the same volume as each other.
That way, you won’t have to continuously come back and turn the volume up.
For this point, I would try and match the volume of, not other artists on YouTube or SoundCloud, but your favorite artists and their professionally mixed and mastered hit singles.
If you’re going to try and make a song, you might as well get used to trying to match the amplitude (volume) of their music.
I usually choose the volume to be around +1.6dB on the Master Volume channel. In between +1.6 and +2.0 dB, depending on whether I’ve used a compressor a multipressor.
13) Export
Now, if you want to export your music, thankfully, Garageband comes with a convenient “Share” function on the top toolbar that allows you to easily export music to either SoundCloud, iTunes, or YouTube.
Before doing this, however, make sure you do this one last thing if you haven’t already.
a) Go into the Garageband Preferences.
b) Click on Advanced.
c) See where it says, “Auto Normalize – Export Projects At Full Volume?”
Make sure this box is unchecked, otherwise, Garageband will export your music at a level that is far too quiet, and the competition will just outshine you like crazy.
Moving on…
With that said, try to avoid making your tracks too loud.
I’m not an expert on this topic, so take notice of this warning, but some people say that making your tracks super loud is a part of what’s called the “Loudness War.”
It’s up to you whether or not you want to engage in this. If you’re curious to read more about it, I recommend this article here.
Some people might argue that an artist/audio engineer has to do whatever they can to get noticed, and that includes exporting music at too high of a volume.
Others will hate you for making your music so loud.
It’s up to you as to whether you want to annoy other producers and audio engineers. I guess you have to ask yourself though, “am I making music for myself, other people, or other producers?”
Anyway, I hope this tutorial was helpful to you. As I said before, I’m not a Billboard-topping artist, so I can’t tell you how to make the illest beat you’ve ever heard. I can only show you how I make them.
Enjoy.
Do me a solid and share this on social media.

"Lovers" (1/7)
(Boyfriend!sona x Girlfriend, FNF)
Girlfriend was waiting for her Boyfriend-- eitherly, her Girlfriend. She was a closeted Lesbian, who had a crush on this girl called August. She eventually confessed her love to her, as she gladly accepted Girlfriend's love confession, she eventually told GF that she had a crush back.
Girlfriend sighed a bit. "Shes probably late.." she muttered. GF then heard some beeps and boops. Her girlfriend jumped infront of her with a cherry pink carnation. She looked at the flower before taking it, tucking it into her hair. "Oh baby, Its gorgeous!" She happily said, picking up her short partner and kissing her. "Beep baap !" Her GF said. "You might have to beat my dad to date me.. so, allow me to teach you the basics!" She said.
After the tutorial, Girlfriend's dad walked up to the duo. He stared down at August. "So. Your the one who wants to date my daughter." He said, menacingly. The girl only let out a confident beep. "...Dad, this is my girlfriend.. August." She said, lightly nervous. "If you wanna date my daughter, you need to beat me in a rap battle." He said, still staring menacingly at August. He pulled out his mic as August pulled hers out. "Just call me Daddy Dearest." He said.
After the two rap battles, Daddy Dearest growled in anger to August. She gave a thumbs up to Girlfriend as she swooned a bit.
"So kid, you wanna date my daughter?"
"Yea ! I wanna kiss my hot girlfriend !"
Girlfriend was a bit surprised to hear that her partner could speak English.
"Not on my watch, "The Boyfriend", get ready to get rooooooooocked to your core!!"
"I'm Daddy Dearest, everyone knows my name, baby!"
"Your Daddy Dearest, everyone knew your name, baby !"
"My shinin' vocals drive all the ladies crazy!"
"My shinin' vocals drive your baby girl crazy !"
"Like a demon from hell...
These hot tracks make all my records sell!"
"Like a demon from hell...
"Your daughters got me under her spell !"
"Now just wait a second missy!"
"How can a rockstar
Whos gotten this far
Trust his daughter's safety with
Some wimpy, shrimpy kid
Think you can rock the way I did?
Id like to see it
Sing me somethin' that'll flip my lid!"
"Now just wait a second, mister !"
"I know im no one
Don't got a big gun
But your daughter's safe with me !
When things are lookin' dire
I can unleash some verbal fire
Even the spookiest boys out there fear my ire !"
"Yo! That was tight! You know what, kid? You're allright, baby!"
"I'll hold her tight ! Gonna treat your daughter right, baby !"
"Rock needs young folks like you to drive ladies crazy!"
"We better go, the air here is gettin' hazy !"
"Now just wait a second, missy!"
"Better be back by ten!
Or you'll never date her or breathe again!"
"Now just wait a second, mister !"
"I'll be back, here by ten !
I'll be a considerate girlfriend !"
"Fine, guess you won, beat this old man on your first try!"
"Yea, guess I won ! Beat that old man on my first try !"
"That's one week done, now fight these guys!"
"Thats one week done, now fight what guys ?"
August's view shifted to two kids in halloween costumes, a ginger in a green sweater holding a gun, her partners mom, a gaming console and a man who looked like he worked for the army.
"...oh funk.."

Funk is a music genre that originated in the mid-late 1960s when African American musicians blended soul music, jazz and R&B into a rhythmic, danceable new form of music. Funk de-emphasizes melody and harmony and brings a strong rhythmic groove of electric bass and drums to the foreground. Funk songs are often based on an extended vamp on a single chord, distinguishing it from R&B and soul songs, which are centered on chord progressions. Like much African-inspired music, funk typically consists of a complex groove with rhythm instruments such as electric guitar, electric bass, Hammond organ, and drums playing interlocking rhythms. Funk bands sometimes have a horn section of several saxophones, trumpets, and in some cases, a trombone, which plays rhythmic 'hits'. Many of the most famous bands in the genre also played disco and soul extensively. Funk samples have been used extensively in genres including hip hop, house music and drum and bass. It is also the main influence of go-go, a subgenre associated with funk
