I wish that someone should make a video that debunks all the "criticisms" people have about RWBY and that it's actually a good show. It would repair RWBY's reputation and teach people that you shouldn't listen to lies said by toxic people on the internet.

Ruby HC: Of all the members of team RWBY, RWBY is both the most hopeful and the most ruthless.

Like how Neo shifted from her original vengeance stance and or gravitated to Ruby post ascension and wat the relationship is like?

I don't have the mind to write a thesis rn, but now that you asked, lemme tell you about the basics LIKE, I got deep into this ship because I'm a RPer, and I wrote a development story with a Ruby and ended up here

It's all post V9, but once my Neo manages to go back to Remnant (with the purpose of trying to get to Cinder to try and take her away from Salem to show true freedom), my Neo is, well, lonely, like she literally has no one to go back to, or talk to, and the Ever After for her was already enough of a torture

So she's a little desperate for real human contact- she still remembers how Ruby looked at her with worry before Neo took her own life to reach a talk with the Tree, and later even the Blacksmith told Neo about how Ruby actually asked if she would be fine, showing some interest despite the fact Neo did such horrible things to her

So once in Vacuo, Neo decides to contact Ruby first, if only because she feels she would give her a second chance, at least to stay on neutral ground, so they meet up, and Neo tells Ruby about her plan, or why she came back

But, she's still lonely, Ruby becomes the only person she has reached out for in a long time, so she inevitably requests for them to hang out more often, and with Ruby actually treating Neo well and giving her a second chance, well, Neo's being treated well and like an equal again, instead of being discarded so easily like Cinder did (even if in this timeline, my Neo and Cinder previously had a complicated relationship lacking a confession of honest feelings), so Neo, inevitably, starts liking Ruby a bit too much

The fact Neo's still a complicated person because of PTSD and her own traumas is another story, but with Ruby also still suffering of PTSD as well, they end up helping each other

Neo left her revenge and hatred for Ruby behind in V9, so it's not a problem anymore, really, it's just really funny she didn't expect falling for the person she was so horrible with in the future

The story currently seems to be that Belarusian dictator and noted Putin toady Alexander Lukashenko "brokered a truce" with Prigozhin, who "agreed that it was a bad idea to spill Russian blood," and having presumably properly put the fear of God into the military establishment, decided to withdraw. Which.... may be true, it may not, but there's no way in hell that this is the end. Putin already used his "Prigozhin is a traitor who needs to be destroyed" card, and he told the Wagnerites/Russian army to get rid of him. So is he just gonna let him go back to the battlefield, at liberty to try this all over again the next time he gets megalomaniacal delusions of grandeur?

Likewise, Prigozhin looks like a fucking idiot who can't carry things through/had the Russian establishment by the throat and then took a sweetheart deal for himself, while the ordinary Wagnerites may not be as keen to just call it off and go home. This is not what happens when things are going well or your government is stable, and there's no way to say how this will play with the Russian oligarchs/remaining Putin inner circle, the Russian military, or anything else. Things have decidedly entered the Find Out stage, we just don't know when the final straw will break the camel's back, and literally anything could happen next. As I said, if Putin doesn't kill Prigozhin, he looks incredibly weak. If he does, he alienates Wagner and loses the only effective part of his war criminal brigade. So there's not really any way that this ends up well for him, regardless of what is next.

I actually am not far at all in RWBY and don’t know much lore yet, so I had to look up a list of types of Grimm and found there was a whole world out there of creative names for the species of this creature!

I guess I like how the Ursas look, and I love the name “Nevermore” for (what I assume) are Raven-like grimm! Seriously those names are pretty rad.

I was never too big on Grimm tbh because the narrative say they don’t have souls. I took it to mean they don’t have a conscience, nor any thoughts, but I remember a scene from volume 2 saying they actually do have some sentience.

not sure, i've never used it. the only thing i can think of is to set "modify existing csp headers" to "yes" in tampermonkey if that's what you're using.

Sorry separate ask, but on Hikari, how do you think she'd respond to being the elder child? IE, her and Taichi swap ages but everyone else stays the same?

I sort of figured without Taichi to serve as example & bulwark she would end up quieter and a bit 'stranger', especially with not seeing the Digital World until she's at least twelve.

IE, its hard lessons on her part that no one else can see the things she talks to, (& for a time she's convinced she's forever hallucinating) or that people don't like her accidentally vocalizing their thoughts or issues they never discussed.

If it comes to others, she'll still put her foot down, but life has left her more meek, or more, alienated, than canon. (This also leads her closest friend Sora to being aggressive protective of her)

Hm, I think this is a tough question because even though technically only one thing has changed, the scenario now depends on so many other factors that it's hard to make a prediction. Certainly, it's true that Taichi wouldn't be there to serve an example or to have a presence to rely on, but on the other hand, Hikari's not a doormat, and Taichi being her younger brother would mean she now has "responsibility" for him. So I would actually completely disagree with the idea that she'd end up being more quiet, because now she has to get used to the idea of taking care of others and working hard on their behalf, so she has to act the part of a responsible older sister and would have to be more active and aggressive about anything.

I do agree that she would be likely to be more closed off about her own feelings, but it's also possible she would cover that up with an even more ostensible cheerful and active demeanor.

On top of that, part of the reason she apparently felt alienated about the monsters she saw as a kid (and to be honest I honestly don't think that was as big of a part of the problem as the fanbase often reads it as) was that nobody believed her, so she stopped talking about it. But while it's easy for older brother Taichi to dismiss his kid sister as being too imaginative, I wonder if younger brother Taichi would have actually supported her instead?

Meanwhile Tim is just standing behind them, in his Robin suit, getting increasingly angry.

Ruby HC: After waking up post Silver Eyes, the person Ruby went to for comfort and guidance was Yang. This is less a HC and more my interpretation of how she interacted with Tai & Qrow respectively, as well as her expression of confusion over what to do to Yang.

Yeah tbh, Tai and Qrow aren't exactly great at comforting people. Maybe a product of their own coping mechanisms.

And even if Yang wouldn't know what to do, I think Ruby would still go to her first.

But I figured that these two have been at war with each other for so long, and there are likely several of Oz's past lives that Salem killed directly. It's possible that she has just outright said to him that the reason she wants the relics is because she's tired of living.

#Spec Ops released in 2012 so it would've been in the conversation space when Miles Kerry and Monty were building the show #so it wouldn't surprise me if Walker was a source of inspiration for Ironwood #additionally that game is inspired by Heart of Darkness and Apocalypse Now #and i can see those being influences on his character as well

Both Agent Walker and General Ironwood are really similar characters I think.

Both are well respected and relatively well liked military men who take great pride in their military and are subtly to overtly dismissive of civilian elements.

Both are men who want to establish communication with the rest of the world, but they made communication harder on themselves. Ironwood by closing Atlas off & Walker by refusing to go backwards.

Both are men who very much want to be heroes, to be saviors but whose skills and personalities lead them to choosing violence and force as their first response to problems.

Both are men who hold another ally in incredibly high regard, (Konrad & Ozpin) but whom they turn on when they need a scapegoat.

Both are men who cannot, will not , admit when they are wrong; they are instead, excellent at justifying whatever immoral decision they make. Be it shooting refugees or shooting their own citizens.

Both are men who directly and indirectly, intentionally and unintentionally cause mass death amongst civilians. Walker by his general penchant to shoot first, as well as using the White Phosphorus and destroying the water; Ironwood by cancelling the evacuation, shooting down evacuation ship and trying to bomb Mantle.

Both have narratives heavily defined by their desire to be a hero and their unchecked, unrestrained bullheadedness leading them down a path of murder and death. One they refused to admit they've been on until seemingly or at least potentially realizing it before they die.

("Was it? None of this would've happened if you'd just stopped. But on you marched. And for what?"

"No, you have sacrificed everyone else! You closed the borders, you squeezed Mantle until it broke!")

They're also both meta commentaries on the military industrial complex, military adventurism and military as saviors narratives.

So uh yeah, wow, there were even more than I realized.
