Billy Shoepack

Age: 24

Height: 176 cm

Works up-river transporting dynamite and other explosives in his alligator tug. He is friends with Sunshine and has the reputition to be an unhinged pyromaniac with many rumors surrounding him.

Liam "Boomer" Doyle

Age: 28

Height: 188 cm

After his tugboat got reneamed against his will, he was basically jinxed into bringing bad luck to himself and everyone around him, what did not help was that people started calling him Boomer as well. All this bad fortune made him very cynical and he hoped a higher power would just end his pain already. He temporarely worked with both Star and Zero Marine with both ending in disaster. His jinx was finally lifted when his tugboat was turned into a boathouse, where he now peacefully lives.

Lillie Park

Age: 32

Height: 167cm

The operator of the lightship around Bigg City. It's very well known how important her job is and she takes a lot of pride in it. Her husband became unable to work and so she had to go out and earn money instead. At first she was not very fond of this but learned to love her job over time. Lillie is very well liked by the Stars and Z-Stacks with her calm and charming personality as well as her tendency to affectionately tease others. She is very close friends with Hercules since they are their only company most of the time out at sea but Lillie also has grown close to Grampus after he prevented her ship from sinking after an accident.

Jeremy "Bluenose" Williams

Age: 44

Height: 194cm

A high-ranked member of the navy and Grampus' former surperior. Bluenose has a nasty, controlling personality and is generally unpleasant to be around. So unpleasant that the Stars and Z-Stacks can agree on how much they dislike him. He prioritizes his authority and orders above all else, leading him to make many questionable decisions over time like when he fired Grampus. This all reached a breaking point when his impatience caused the massive muntions fire in the port that lead to the deaths of Big Mickey and the crew on board of Kraka-Toa. After learning that he was the cause of all of this and that he had shown to be completely unable to act during the fire, he got suspended from duty.

The fact that Lillie Lightship and Grampus is on the Z Stack page of that TUGS publicity packet gave a funny mental image of Lillie or Grampus joining the Z Stacks. I'd love to see how someone could write such a concept into a story.

Alright, about half a month late, but this fic is finally finished. I really meant for this to be done for traintober but it just grew way bigger than I had originally planned. This is pretty easily my longest fic at the current time of writing. Anyways, I hope you all like it.

I got an interesting question: Do the tugs get easily distracted/go absolutely nuts whenever there's a female tug around? The closest is Lillie, but she already seems to be taken.

Well, it depends on the individual.

There's another female tug but she is yet to be introduced. Her name is Zanthia.

Some are easily distracted, others are not.

Lillie is actually bisxual and polyamorous. She's open to relationships with others. I'm not exactly sure if she is actually full blown mates with Hercules or not. I'll leave that up to interpretation.
