All the rewatches of A Court of Fey & Flowers in the world could not have prepared me for how fun the epistolary phase in Good Society is when you actually get to play it in real time

The letters that my players have sent so far have ranged from one-word, catty little notes to absolutely exquisite ones that read as if they've been plucked right out of an Austen novel, and it's divine

For Christmas I got a Steam card and picked out a couple games for myself. Decided to bite the bullet and get Divinity Original Sin 2 (if only to fill that "solo TTRPG" itch).

Some wonky issues with controls aside, I have... well...

I accidentally killed someone in the game. I meant to pickpocket him. He was a captor on the ship so I felt that with him sleeping I could pickpocket him.

But for reasons I'm not entirely sure on now, I dragged an oil barrel down the stairs.

After failing to pickpocket him I carefully was moving the barrel closer. I was trying to put it near the door but I accidentally and I do mean accidentally put it right on top of him.

It exploded. He caught on fire. He died instantly.

... so I left the witness in his cell because he gave off sketchy vibes and if this was a full TTRPG he would've totally blabbed to someone.

On another note the character race-class system is insane because this is the first time I've ever seen actual player options for undead skeletons. Non-human ones I mean.

I may have just come up with the worst stat generation method for WotC D&D and other games with a similar range of attributes

You roll 5d6 for each ability score. Your ability score is the number of points that roll would score in Yahtzee

I think players could be given a limited number of Yahtzee style rerolls to use during the entire process

Today I had a "planning" session with some of my party members (mainly because someone still needed help with their stats, and someone else couldn't make it), and it was revealed that when one of my players typed up his stats

He organized them by font type

Copied down all of the descriptions of all of his class features and spells

Color-coded his spells by their school

AND ADDED IN-CHARACTER NOTES

Who am I?

When the coronas freeze over and the comets fall to horizon is only when you will truly know who I am. But... until that happens, I will give a short meet-the-"author" post! My name is Clementine, but you can call me a nickname if it so pleases you (Clem, Clemy, Stupid-little-mentally-ill-blonde-creature, etc) I was born on Earth, more specifically, Canada, but yearned for the outstretched cosmos. So, I decided one day to pack my very little belongings, consisting of a journal, Hello Kitty pencils, many scrunchies, and a can of Fanta I found in my cupboard from three Halloweens ago (No, it did not taste good). I will keep my method of getting to space under wraps for now, but just know, I still panic whenever something reminds me of fireworks... Or lawn chairs...

I can not believe the amount of life we have missed by "wasting" our times at "retail jobs", and "school", and "Clementine Raine! When will you go out there and make some real friends?!" Well, guess what Mom, I will be making friends by presenting my findings from space! With great hope, they will appreciate my poorly drawn fingers and lopsided eyes!

As I touched on briefly, I will be exploring the vastness of the galaxies before me and show my perilous adventures and even more perilous findings to those who dare to read. OOC- Okay, to let the mask slip, this whole blog is a world building exercise for my astral-inspired D&D campaign. Why am I making it public? I have no idea. All I really knew was that I wanted to tell a story, and it's hard when my players keep canceling on me or I accidentally forget again (ADHD DM struggles are real). I also wanted to inspire some other people who might have similar campaigns or dream of them, anyway. The only problem is that I'm one woman with a very short attention span. If you have any ideas for species, occupations, or general world building, please tell me! If you're comfortable with me using your ideas, I'll properly credit you! Oh man, the ANGST of this session was high after that fight.

Antonia learned what the Corporate Asshole had been doing, and ended up taking her confession to the Very Right party member to turn her far away from the corporations when he revealed his Tragic Backstory of being a clone made simply to be used for organ harvesting.

She's got like, two lines. Child abuse and Slavery. It's one thing to donate your organs for pay, it's another to never have a choice.

So she and that party member bonded, amusingly enough, on a mission to find a child murderer, and he's promised to keep her secret as she works on cutting ties from the corporation.

This can only end badly.

Lancer session ended in the middle of combat because a player had to leave and I am absolutely FROTHING AT THE MOUTH because REVELATIONS ARE INCOMING. One of the hostages they were fighting to save is a corporate asshole who works with my Antonia's Hounds of War merc company and I am RABID for the drama of this revelation because Antonia hasn't LIED about what she is or what she does, but she also hasn't told them which group hires her the most, and it's their sworn enemy, lmao.

Naturally, as soon as Antonia recognized that guy, she got him free from his bindings ASAP, even used up my inspo to save his fuckin' ass because I needed him alive for this juicy drama.

Mine is a player who started as a Pact of the Deck Genie Warlock Changeling. I'm not going to give her the satisfaction of a tag. If she sees this, she sees it.

She likes to request Magic Item shops in the spur of the moment to, 'window shop." And always has the most specific questions about each item. She also once confronted an assassin as that assassin's dead lover with intentions to parlay. One time, she rolled highest in initiative to protect a werewolf lady from being hunted by their wife, who was in a secret monster hunting guild with her. She cast a spell and drew a joker card trigging wild magic surge and FIREBALLED every single creature on the battlefield EXCEPT the bad guy. Dropping two of her party members.

She once banished a BBEG-level monster on turn one that I had to give them a 20th Level Wizard to help with, and that nearly one-shot the Paladin in a surprise round.
