YES, it has the only "sanity" mechanic I have ever seen in a tabletop game or OTHERWISE that effectively and meaningfully portrays the way compounding stress effects someone. But what TRULY elevates it to a master piece is the fact that, YES! It, with a single mechanic, fixes the problem nearly every other ttrpg which thinks it can handle mysteries struggles with.

A couple members of our Lancer group and I put together a module over the last two weeks for the Lancer game jam. I'll be posting the art I did for it over the next couple of days, but you can get the whole thing below on itch morganjanearcane.itch.io/a-wake-writ-in-void The pdf is pwyw since we'd much rather it be accessible to anyone interested in Lancer. It's designed to be played as either a one-shot for PCs to be able to try out new builds at a mid-high level, or to be slotted into a campaign around that level. Question: how much meaning do you guys put behind the name of your mech?

I ask because I was discussing this with Highground. Apparently our Everest pilot pulled her mech's name out of a hat, while I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum—Dawn Always Comes has three meanings behind it ("Dawn Always Comes" as in "hope springs eternal", as in "you cannot hide from my missiles", and as in "you will see tomorrow").

Announcing: Restful Actions

Restful Actions is a collection of 10 minigames for downtime periods in any TTRPG. They're designed to help players resolve character conflicts, complete goals, heal or explore, and take much shorter shopping trips. (You can, in fact, download the shopping trip minigame as a demo!)

For GMs, the goal is to give you a break, so you can start preparing the next Big Event. The minigames invite players to fill in some details of the world, creating shops, landmarks, even creatures.

Eat God

Played our first round of Eat God tonight, @prokopetz ' developing ttrpg.

The party consists of a beaver with a tail for smashing. Or grabbing. Or flying. Also a half-goblin-half-centipede with pink tinted glasses. And a union of hatless stone garden gnomes. Slightly damp ones. Chilly, damp, stone garden gnomes. A whole union of them. And an amorphous metallic ooze.

They met a priest and ate his dinner. And, quite possibly, ruined his day. Maybe also his life.

it was a lot of fun.

i have said it before and i will say it again. wyll and gale decide to try roleplay in the bedroom and confabulate a very complex high concept premise to work off of. they develop their characters and compare motivations and backstories. five hours into the scene neither of them have taken their clothes off and both of them forgot they were trying to have sex. theater kid 4 theater kid
