I saw in an ask that you’d be ending through the mist with an an open ending, and I’m a little sad and disappointed 😞 like putting us through the angsty chapters to then not give us a happy ending or closure kinda sucks 😢

so i genuinely don't think this anon was trying to be rude and i understand the concern, but imagine waking up to an ask telling you that your plan for the fic you're writing "kinda sucks" haha it's not great? there are lots of sweet and fluffy moments in ttm, but there is a greater message to the story, as well. i shared that ttm would have an open ending specifically for those who didn't want to waste their time, thinking there would be a happy ending. i understand that angst is not everyone's cup of tea, but i'm certain there are so many great fluffy fics out there that you can read instead! i can even rec some amazing jk fics with happy endings if y'all want!!

you don't have to read through the mist if you're not okay with angst and no happy endings! it's a body of work that i've been diligently writing and been excited about and i wasn't planning to "put anyone through" a fic where i was setting y'all up for disappointment because first and foremost i am writing for myself :)

i also don't think giving a story about a toxic relationship a happy ending is a great message to put out. it just isn't how things should work out in real life. the ttm couple is far from perfect and wrapping everything up with a bow feels really wrong. i wanted to write about first love, growing up, making mistakes and eventually healing. the message of the story is that not everything is meant to be seen in black and white, thus the absence of a happy ending.
