It's the penultimate episode, I've got some words for P'Dome that he'll never get to hear but most importantly I'm here to congratulate Peach and Home on not breaking up this episode. So let's get to it!

We begin with Home being sad looking at their ad while thinking about his gramps trying to teach him the meaning of "home"

But while Pangpang puts it plainly into words

Home is apparently so dense that he still hasn't figured it out

We've been seeing quite clearly, and Home seems to be aware on a subconcious level at least, that Peach and the rest of the squad have become his home. But well, Home the man, clearly put all his character points into cuteness leaving none for intelligence so I guess we'll have to wait for the last (TT) episode for him to finally get it.

Peach has gotten to know Home very well. So of course he can tell that there's something up with his platonic? boyfriend. (on the first watch i thought this was him fishing for "Home is so sad that you're leaving"-validation)

He's also totally definitely not at all worried about Home. I'd say acting isn't Peach's strong suit but he did quite well with the fuckery they put on so I guess it's a case of the old can't-lie-when-it-comes-to-love.

Despite his utter non-worry he still delegates Home-care to Kan which kind of implies that he sees it as his job to take care of him. (and shows how much he is worried and cares about Home but that's not really news at this point)

Even Kan is teasing them about their relationship now.

Sure, their fight turned out to be somewhat staged to distract evil lawyer but the sentiments are nontheless quite real. The familiar territory of fighting allows them to finally speak out their feelings about what happened at the end of last episode. And, surprise, surprise, both are hurt by the idea of being left by the other, of ultimately not meaning that much to each other. (as I said, abandonment trauma rearing its ugly head) At this point, regardless of their relationship status maybe they should just get married so they'll finally feel some security in their importance to each other. (this is almost definitely not a good solution to this sort of problem irl, of course)

It's a good thing they've been perfecting their nonverbal communication over the course of the show. It comes in quite handy in situations like this.

Surrounded by the betrayal from his blood family, Home knows there's someone he can always trust.

Peach. And the rest of the gang. His real family. (+ the friends they made along the way)

This scene was honestly the cutest shit. The way he goes from his legs raised in happiness, to lowerd in disappointment, to swinging with giddieness. The way he's hiding under his duvet to secretly talk to his boyfriend on the phone. Ridiculously cute. This man is so in love. And he shows it like a stereotypical 12 y/o girl.

And Peach isn't any better with his arms on display and that fondness in his face.

Peach really doesn't want Home to go back to America.

But while he's not getting that reassurance for now (I can't bring myself to believe he'll actually leave. Not after everything, not when the reason for his exile has been resolved, not when he's finally found the meaning of "home" so his grandpa would have allowed him to come back, anyway. And how ironic btw, that he had to come home first and face the consequences of his actions, in order to find his meaning of "home"), at least he gets some surprisingly clear real-talk on Home's feelings.

Peach is smelling the bs on uncle and he's not looking to become a widower. He already watched Home die once, he's really not inclined to repeat that experience.

Unfortunately he let's Home convince him it'll be fine (and unfortunately Home has retained a lot of that naivete that he displayed when he first met Kan) so he's left behind to worry about Home's safety.

This plan from the uncle is absolutely evil. To not only kill his nephew but make people, possibly even Home himself, believe that Peach is the one who killed him? To destroy his nephew's most important person in the process, not only worldly by framing him for murder, but also spiritually by having someone (Home!) die from his cooking? I'm sure to Kid this was mostly a matter of hitting two flies with one stone but whether intentional or not this plan is clearly designed for maximum cruelty. And it's made even more cruel by the love and trust Home and Peach clearly have for each other, plain for everyone, even the evil uncle, to see. But he doesn't even grant Home the knowledge of being loved at the point of his death.

“TT, it’s going to be fun,” Momo did her best to comfort you, taking your hand she walked to in the to the entrance of the public pool.”

“What if no one likes me?” You grumbled. “I’m not as parenty as the other adults.”

The loss of your brother showed up in more ways then one. The way the grief can creak into the everyday folds of your knew life with Momo was challenging, and on top of it all, you had to learn how to be a good parent on the fly. 

The transition from fun aunt to mother figure had been challenging. Especially, when discipline had to come out to play. Momo wasn’t a bad kid, but she had been through a lot, and her emotions ran all over the place.

So far,  this summer has been such a relief for you both. As she relocated after her suspension, it was honestly a blessing in disguise. There was a community around the school district your brother was zoned for that you never knew was there. Momo made some new friends that she seems to love more and they loved her equally as much. 

But you can't help the feeling that your a poser, that you’re pretending. You were constantly comparing yourself to other parents. Taking a breath you pushed through. What worse could happen as you join in to continue this horrible tradition of a day at the pool. 

The holes at the  side of your swimsuit started to film skimpy,  despite being a one piece it  felt too much, not at all something a mom would wear. You tugged  the sleeves of the knitted cover up you wearing. It was made to give a dramatic end sleeve effect. Like very chic sweater paws. 

“If you stay on your best behavior, you’ll have nothing to worry about.” Momo beamed up at  you.

Despite being very cute, you took her bag off her shoulder with narrowed eyes. 

“Go play.” You said in a deadpan tone. 

“But what did I—“

“Now! Go play with your friends. Don’t make me tell you again.”

She huffed before giggling as Janine was already running towards her. Her soaking wet curls shining in the sun.

You grinned as they started squealing at one another before skipping off.

“Hey!” A voice stopped them from your side, “don’t run around here or you’ll fall and bust your head open!”

You smiled your best polite smile. 

“Someone’s looking rather fancy for a public outing at the pool.” Sheila  looked at you over her shades.”

“What can I say,” you smiled, “I dress to impress.”

Being in with a group of parents really had its perks. They saved you a seat and it was nice and cozy. Not too much sun and not too much shade. 

“Hey hey,” look who it is.” Sheila introduced and everyone called out to you from their chairs. 

“Someone’s looking all special!”

All the moms oohhhed and ahhed in appreciation. 

You swallowed ignoring how hot your face felt. 

“Hi.” You waved with a smile as you took your seat. 

“Hey, I’m Monique.” She took of her shades, “Janine’s Mom.”

“Oh my god Hi,” you instantly perked up. “I’ve heard your name a lot over the last week.”

Janine and Momo exchanged numbers which were actually your number and Monique’s number, so you’ve only heard her voice several, several times, as  she said, hold on let me get Janine.

“It’s nice to put a voice to a face.”

“Likewise.” You nodded with a smile and pulled your book out of your bag, just in case.

“What is it that you do again?” 

It was nice to be able to talk about something like work and not.. your brother or how hard the transition is with Monice coming to live with you. 

“Lawyer, started out with the criminal justice stuff and somehow ended up in the corporate conglomerate stuff, representing companies as they do who fuck knows with whatever products they put out and such.”

“You know more than me, so I will not ask too many questions.” You both laughed. 

“Heeheehee,” a strong voice mocked you from above, blocking the sun.

“You held a hand over your eyes and waved with the other. “Hey.”

“Don’t hey me and get your butt out here in this pool.”

“Why.” You scoffed and clipped the shades from your shirt, putting them on.

“We take turns chaperoning the kids.” He crossed his arms.

“Marvin please, give her a break. She just got here. It’s probably Sheila’s turn.”

He stormed off with a groan and waved Monique off.

“Sheila’s not getting in the pool is she?”

Monique tapped her nose with a smile and you laughed. 

45 minuets or maybe one glorious hour into your book. A little voice broke your focus. 

“TT can I have $20.” 

“Why do you need $20.” You turned the page of your book not looking up.

“Because of the concession stand.” She huffed, giving her eight year old logic. 

“But I packed you something.” You fake pouted back, grabbing the cooler bag. 

“I mean, I brought these grapes,” you pulled them out and put them back in the bag, rummaging some more, “I cut up some strawberries and other fruit, making sure there were no stems or nasty bits because you hate that,”  you put them back in the bag, “and then, I  woke up extra early and made those ham and cheese balls you love so much.” You sighed dramatically.

“I packed all your favorites, but if you want to eat soggy fries drenched in a weird cheese sauce, I guess I can give you the money.” You put your hand in your purse. 

“No-I’ll-take-these-thanks!” She eagerly snatched the goodies out of the bag, running off to be eat with her friends.

Victory.

You went back to your book.

“Nice one.” Monique said to you over her kindle. 

You both read in silence. 

Monique was pretty swell. She was the easiest to be around compared to the other mom’s.

“Thank you for the other day,” you were about to ask her for what but she explained further, “for keeping Marvin out of trouble at the cookout.”

“What.” You laughed. “I didn’t do anything. We just talked for a bit.”

She smiled at you.

“Marvin doesn’t just talk for a bit.” She went back to her book.

You were about to say something. To get some more answers, confront her, ask her to give it to you straight or interpret what she was implying, but Marvin plopped down between you both.

“Water.” He huffed. 

Wordlessly, Monique handed him a bottle. There was nothing but the sondes of kids playing and water splashing. The comfortable silence you and Monique created falling back in place until he started crushing the water bottle loudly in his one of his hands. He  pulled at the fabric of your cover up with his other.

“You need to take this off and get in the pool. It’s your turn.”

“Why do I have to go?” You smacked his hand away.

“If I have to drag you into the water I will.” He pointedly looked at you, “I already had to drag Sheila out there and I’m willing to drag you in too.”

You rolled your eyes. 

“Fine.”

The water wasn’t too bad, the screaming kids not so much. But it was nice to see Marvin be around them.

“My turn!” A boy that was more hair than boy squealed as Marvin dunked him under the water and refused to let him go as he thrashed around for a minuet. He came above the surface of the water with a gapped grin, one of his front teeth missing. 

He swam away back to his friends in glee. 

“What a fun game.” You tried to be sarcastic but your grin was too wide and you were already laughing. 

“You never went to the pool as a kid?” He splashed water on you.

You slammed the surface of the water back with both hands, getting way more water on him. 

“Of course I did!” 

“Well, I apologize if you don’t seem like the type, Ms. Bougie.”

“I like to take care of myself, and I was raised by a woman who liked to take care of herself and her family. She had standards and she raised me with standards.” You defended. “Why is that a crime?”

He looked down at you with a smile, less mirthful than before.

“It’s not.” 

Despite the chill from the water and the slight breeze every few minuets a warmth started to spread throughout you.

“When,” he started and quickly stopped, looking away from you for a second before putting a hand into a fist and pushing into the palm of the other. “You don’t have someone at home who takes care of you?”

“If that’s your way of asking if I have a boyfriend,” you started carefully, “then no.”

He looked at you as if he didn’t believe you. You would have laughed if it wasn’t sort of sweet. 

“I did.” you said as earnestly as you could. 

His eyebrows rose, but he showed no other sign of surprise. Nodding in some sort of. . . appreciation? It was hard to tell. 

“He doesn’t help you take care of Momo?”

“He left because of Momo." You said, giving half of your attention to mindlessly floating in the water with a sigh. 

He followed suit, crouching down in the pool, letting his legs flow at a bent angle so he could be at the same eye level as you. 

“If he’s willing to leave you like that, with all your going through,” he locked eyes with you, "then he doesn’t deserve you.”

You nodded giving him a silent thank you.

He made a step towards you. 

“I just—“

“Daddy!” Janine jumped in her dads arms. Her face pulled taunt with a frown and her bottom lip sticking out.

“TT” Momo solemnly swam to you. 

She rubbed her eyes as you pulled her into your arms.

“You tired?” You looked over to see Marvin murmur comforting words in Janine’s ear. 

You gave him an apologetic smile. 

He gave one back and made his way to the steps of the pool to take Janine home. 

You kissed Momo on the head. 

“Time to go home kiddo,” you moved her hair to the side to see her face. She was already fast asleep in your arms, giving her another light kiss on the head, you made your way out the pool.

Tiktok lawyers: if china is such a concern why are you singling us out? Why not SHEIN or temu which collect far more information and are less transparent with their users?

SCOTUS (out loud): well you see we don’t like how users are communicating with each other, it’s making them more anti-american and china could disseminate pro china propaganda (get it? They literally said they do not like how we Speak or how we Assemble. Independent journalists reach their audience on tt meaning they have Press they want to suppress)

Tiktok users: this is fucking bullshit i don’t want to lose this community what should we do? We don’t want to go to meta or x because they both lobbied congress to ban tiktok (free market capitalism amirite? Paying off your local congressmen to suppress the competition is totally what the free market is about) but nothing else is like TikTok

A few users: what about xiaohongshu? It’s the Chinese version of tiktok (not quite, douyin is the chinese tiktok but it’s primarily for younger users so xiaohongshu was chosen)

Tiktok as a community has chosen to collectively migrate TO a chinese owned app that is purely in Chinese out of utter spite and contempt for meta/x and the gov that is backing them.

My fyp is a mix of “i would rather mail memes to my friends than ever return to instagram reels” and “i will xerox my data to xi jinping myself i do not care i share my ss# with 5 other people anyway” and “im just getting ready for my day with my chinese made coffee maker and my Chinese made blowdryer and my chinese made clothing and listening to a podcast on my chinese made phone and get in my car running on chinese manufactured microchips but logging into a chinese social media? Too much for our gov!” etc.

So the government was scared that tiktok was creating a sense of class consciousness and tried to kill it but by doing so they sent us all to xiaohongshu. And now? Oh it’s adorable seeing this gov-manufactured divide be crossed in such a way.

This is adorable and so not what they were expecting. Im sure they were expecting a reluctant return to reels and shorts to fill the void but tiktokers said fuck that, we will forge connections across the world. Who you tell me is my enemy i will make my friend. That’s pretty damn cool.

Day 100 of WGA Strike!

The WGA wants to negotiate, they want a fair contract, and they want to get back to work. And in 100 days, the studios have done nothing but stall and ignore at best, and antagonize and threaten at worst.

But we, the fans and the viewers, have the writers' backs. As long as it takes to secure a fair contract, to work with dignity and respect, we stand with them. One day longer, one day stronger!

I love the clashes they have on the field and I missed that in the last El Clásico. But you have no idea how tt gets here in Brazil every time they have a clash. My background is different, but I feel like a lawyer with years of experience just by defending Gavi. I recently binged the recruit s1, wow I didnt expect it to be as enjoyable as it was. I agree with the post you made eons ago lol- Hannah is so boring everything felt so forced. I didnt understand the whole owen is so selfish he destroys people when he wasnt the one bringing them into his business unless he really needed to but hannah was voluntarily inserting herself into the situation. Disappointing to see not much about the show on here, tt or even tiktok like ive unexpectedly become obsessed with max- I need to know everything about her lore. Like she mustve been a teen mom, why did she kill her husband, why did she want to go back to Russia etc. Also her scary gf x sunshine loser bf dynamic with owen really made the show so watchable- they're so golden retriever x black cat coded too. Fully believe she bought owen a watch as a kind gesture not just so she could track him. The angst of him being the first person she can trust and starting to open up to him only for him to walk away. Also hes honest with her too- about why he became a lawyer- which lbr he isnt with Hannah. Thinking about how he killed for max and she probably thought if it came down to it he wouldnt cause he wouldnt have the guts and it would have implications with the CIA 😫 Agh im so annoyed about the ending- max went through all of that to just die like that?! I flew through s2 mainly cause I fast forward a lot of it and yeah. Watching owen in s2 really highlighted how much max acc helped him navigate the crazy stuff he had to deal with. Another eye roll inducing hannah plot this season I'm afraid. Sorry to word vomit in your inbox again (last time I did that was about declan cameron who I'm missing dearly) you have great taste in ships btw

Oh noooooo..... don't tell me they're still carrying on with the Hannah/Owen plot in season 2 😭😭😭

I haven't watched the new season yet and tbh, I've been reluctant to watch it because Max is not in it. She made it so much more interesting to me. There was so much more to explore in her background and a lot of unanswered questions. I'm very disappointed, to say the least 😞
