[2 days after becoming genin - already in trouble]
Jiraiya: What are we going to do?
Orochimaru: Face the consequences of our actions and tell the others?
Jiraiya and Tsunade: *laughs*
Tsunade: Don’t be silly, I’ve got a much better idea!

If I remember correctly you said that your favorite Naruto pairings are with Ino and Anko. Unless I remember it wrong (which I might have) what makes you like pairing them with Naruto? Especially more than some like Hinata and Sakura?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hmm. How to put this. I can appreciate the appeal of NaruHina, given what a nice girl Hinata is, always watching Naruto from afar and cheering him on. I'm not opposed to that dynamic, nor NaruSaku if Sakura improves as a character...
However, I'm one of those people that if a ship doesn't hit me in the feels, like with NagiKae (Assassination Classroom), or Naezono, I tend to gravitate towards... crackships. Why? 'Cause I like those female characters, whether it be their abilities or their personalities. In the case of Ino and Anko, it's both. Ino can use Mind Transfer Jutsu, which is unique, and she matures as the series progresses. Anko prefers a mix of traditional stealthy ninja arts and snakes, and she's a loveable sadistic psycho lady. What's not to love about the psycho? (❋•‿•❋) Ino and Anko both get forced to the background as the series progresses, and it's really just a shame. Of course you have central characters to any story, but I think it's possible for any garden variety fan to take a step back from the series and admit that as Shippuden progressed, Naruto and Sasuke were focused on way too much. Again, I appreciate they're important... But you can have important characters and still give moments for the others to shine. Shippuden just had less and less of those. Many, many side characters were sacrificed for "plot".
In terms of Hinata and Sakura... Well. I'll be as frank yet delicate as I can. Hinata's a lovely character, but I think one weakness of how they portray her is that she's hung up on Naruto. She cares for others, especially her team, but so much of her interest and focus is on... Naruto. And again, it's fine to have a most important person in your life, I'm not critiquing that. I only wish we were shown... more of her. Shown her grow out of this mindset where her father ruled much of her life, and she gains a sense of.. self. I dunno, feel free to disagree, that's just why I'm not over the moon for Hinata. She's cute, strong, cares a lot... It's just that with Naruto and Sasuke being a focus for much of Shippuden, Hinata doesn't get fleshed out like many characters deserve to be.
... And Sakura. Ugh... I'll restrain myself from a SakuSasu rant monologue, but seriously. Ships like SasuSaku and Jerza are a pain in the ass to watch and read. That's just me. Sakura had... potential, I suppose. Someone from a civilian family amongst a class of clan heirs. But... she endeavored to be a ninja, and then got caught up in a bratty rivalry with Ino as kids. Honestly? That was alright. That wasn't the worst possible thing. They were kids, and they wound up reconciling during the Chunin Exams. Unfortunately... On Sakura's side, her hatred of Ino and the reason for the rivalry was just so... shallow. Yes, they both swooned and fell hard for a boy, but at least Ino worked in her family's flower shop. At least Ino took training to be a ninja seriously. Sakura...? She was the one more obsessed with becoming a housewife and being strong for "Sasuke-kun". Her obsession with Sasuke drove her to treat Naruto and other rivals for Sasuke's heart like dirt, and it didn't feel like she made too much of an effort in reparations towards Naruto or Ino. They all just... sort of moved on, stayed friends, what have you. Even though Naruto wound up holding himself to a promise of dragging Sasuke back to Konoha, and Sakura really only cared about Sasuke coming back (and later she had a phase of, "I must kill Sasuke before he goes too dark!" and backpedaled on that). I get that she's a medic and she is strong in having Tsunade-level strength, it's just Sakura doesn't get many moments to shine, and much like Hinata her affection towards Sasuke regardless of what he does feels so... one-dimensional. At least to me. I want to be a passionate NaruSaku shipper. It's helluva lot healthier than SasuSaku, at least in how I've seen it portrayed. But man... it's hard to get behind NaruSaku when you sit through canon and stew over Sakura focusing on Sasuke so much. You can argue Naruto makes a good effort to convey his feelings for her through his actions, but from Sakura's side it's shallow or feels it needs to be cooked more. They're teammates, the dynamic should be there... But it just feels like Naruto's the third wheel along for the ride on Team 7. It sucks. XD
I'll end this long-winded rant by stressing that I don't hate NaruHina or NaruSaku. I'm aware of the rivalry between those two shipping fandoms, and I'm one of those fans that concedes the possible merits of both ships. ... But I do enjoy other female characters over them, hence it's more fun for me to dabble in NaruIno, NaruAnko, NaruTayuya, NaruKurotsuchi, NaruSamui, NaruShizune, NaruAyame... Hell, I'm open to NaruGuren and NaruMikoto. I've read some good NaruMikoto time travel fics, and I have ways of enjoying these ships with older girls that keep these ships from edging into pedophile territory. In the case of these crackships, I'm not basing them off of any canon hints of romance. I create the connections myself and let the imagination fly~ That's just who I am. (❋•‿•❋)

hi! what is you favourite naruto female character and why?
It's definitely Senju Tsunade!!
Tumblr media
Tsunade is the only female character in Narutoverse to have a separate Arc dedicated to her. She had a real dream which could change the life of countless Shinobis who were pointlessly dying on the Battlefield, that is... to assign a Medical Ninja to every team which reduces the death rate by a wide margin.
And that dream was not motivated by the man she was romantically interested in but instead it came out of the loss of her beloved person, her Brother Nawaki.
Tumblr media
Unlike many horny biashhhhes in this series, her romance was totally relatable. She found a man who suffered the same pain of losing a sibling, a sister
Tumblr media
“He’s just like me”
Dan seems to support that noble dream as hers' and then she started to develop a natural bond with him. I mean, it’s not a love that came out of reasonless attraction and shit.
Tumblr media
It’s a typical Work Place romance. Healthy, Organic and Cute at the same time.
Tumblr media
Even though she lost Dan, after Naruto’s persistence she found it in herself to keep Dan’s dream alive by becoming the Hokage of Konoha.
Tumblr media
Is there any other woman character in Narutoverse to have some realistic dream and achieved them successfully?? Or is there any other woman who carried her beloved person’s dream to keep it alive??
I really don’t think so. But Tsunade did both. She revolutionized the Medical System of the Shinobi world and carried Dan’s dream to become Hokage.!!!
And Finally
Tumblr media
She had a good Closure!!!!! I loved this moment.
Who said Kishimoto can’t write Romance??? Well, this relationship seems so genuine and realistic in my opinion.
She is the Second Best Hokage who took over Konoha right after the destruction made by Orochimaru, excellently handled the aftermath by making friendly relations with Suna (Sand village), provided her best medical support to Konoha in the Pain Arc and successfully handled the fourth Shinobi world war.
She is such a badass who developed her own original jutsu called Byakugou no Jutsu, 100 healings Jutsu which can enable to heal herself.
She is just way too amazing and it’s a pity that we got very less scenes of her in Shippuden.
Best Moments:
Took 25+ stabs from Madara’s Susanoo like a piece of cake (Man, I simply couldn’t describe that scene. All the other Kages were shocked and even Madara too)
Tumblr media
Lifted her advisors like a cabbage sack (Those fucking old hags deserved it. Those shits should’ve died)
Tumblr media
Her index finger flick assault on Naruto (Aww, Naruto was definitely bratty in his first meeting and Tsunade didn’t hold back at all... Tbh, Naruto deserved it!!!)
Tumblr media
Played Orochimaru like a basketball (In that same arc, she fought Orochimaru mercilessly like a devil left and right. Someone who claimed to have surpassed Tsunade never even dared to fight Orochimaru’s student and crying for his attention after just receiving one stab from Madara. Just saying)
Tumblr media
Please don’t compare this strong woman with some other 3rd rated scum characters in Narutoverse.

If you had a chance to rewrite Naruto what would you change?
I guess so many are obsessed with rewriting Naruto but since your question was genuine, I will give this a try.
I feel that Sasuke did have a lack of inner monologues. I will give him a lot of inner voices so that his actions might sound understandable. However, I would make sure that I don't ruin the complexity as well because that's what really makes him special. I really see him as a peak and a well-written character, but just a few changes like these might do.
I would want Sakura to be given more justice as the female MC. Her hate doesn't make sense but I feel it's because she isn't criticized in the right way. I would give her all the cool-healing abilities which Naruto had with his Kurama. I will make her a bit OP as well. I would want her to be understanding and caring for Naruto from the start. Not fully, but with some of her bratty aspects still left over so that she gets a space to develop.
I don't want Sakura to fall behind Naruto and Sasuke but ONLY after gaining the Byakugou, because it may ruin the rules of medical ninjutsu as well. I would want her to grow more mature and better developed. Definitely, she came a long way but some small adjustments would always do.
I wish Sakura was a healer right from the beginning of Naruto. She would know the mystic palm technique with a small genjutsu technique. She will become something more than just another Tsunade. She will just have a few techniques so she isn't a complete fodder in part 1. Add that to the achievements she managed to do as a genin, it will be great to see.
It would be better if Naruto's epilogue was extended because we had a few blanks unfilled. It would be good to see how the five Kage would respond to Sasuke being redeemed. And a meeting for five kages to set up peace and tranquility will give a lot more base to the ending.
I wanted to see more of Team Taka after the war. Also, a few moments where Team 7 is going out after the war. It will be nice to see if Naruto and Sakura visit Sasuke in the prison.
It would be good to see how Sai and Sasuke develop trust in each other.
I wanted a stronger foundation and a better prominence with screentime for Hinata and Naruto's relationship. I would want to see Hinata working for the Hyuga clan (as the heiress) in Boruto too. It will make them relatable because they both would hold some of the most important positions in the village. Housewife is not bad, that's the toughest job but Hinata is potential for something more.
I wanted some screentime and relevancy for Hinata too. I would love to give a lot of insight into the Hyuga clan history, politics, and good practices of the Hyuga lore through Hinata. It will be cool to see Hinata developing a rivalry with Neji, just like how Naruto viewed Sasuke but with less severity. It will be a good way to see Hinata and Naruto relating to each other. I would love to rewrite Last in a better way.
Hyuga needs a Byakugan upgrade. That would be cool to see.
Yamato needs a better ending. I feel sorry for him because he is watching over Orochimaru. It felt so punished for Yamato though he is the one who deserved justice.
I wanted some Gaara and Sasuke friendship too. I wanted Sasuke to bond with other characters like Neji, and Shino. They all seem to have cool yet poise-type personas. They can form a good team.
The wedding arc could have been expanded a lot more. It will be nice to see if Sakura had bought Sasuke to the wedding since he is Naruto's best friend. That would have been a nice surprise gift for Naruto. The wedding could also be used to develop SasuSaku.
SasuSaku needs some more development. I personally find them the best in Naruto, but there are a few things I am willing to see. I wanted a whole conversation for Sasuke and Sakura after the battle in the valley, to just clear the misconceptions about their relationship. I would want Sakura to explain the reasons behind why she loves Sasuke, and Sasuke would tell why he wasn't able to return his feelings during his darkness. A nice conversation would have done.
I wanted some SasuSaku novels to be animated so that they are a bit more likable, yet not ruining the uniqueness in their relationship.
I wanted to see some side characters getting development and enough attention in the powerhouse. It's still sad to see that they had to depend upon their predecessors (edo Hokages) to win the war. I would want them to be a major reason and the major powerhouse in winning the war.
I wanted to see Hebi, team 8 and team Gai having their bonds explored more. I think team 8 is a bit oddly built, hence I would further dive into them and make them more justifiable. Team Gai is built well, but I need more screentime for them. Hebi is one of my favorites too, but I wanted to see more for them.
Temari, Neji, and Rock Lee needed more development in Shippuden. I think their importance just regressed there because they were great in part 1.
It would be nice to see a Temari and Tenten rematch in the Konoha crush arc. Tenten would train harder to also get better and stronger, not only as a training partner for Neji. I wanted to see her defeating Temari to prove that she isn't garbage. That will make Temari more likable and understanding. The whole fight will develop their characters beautifully. Their friendship will be cute to see.
I don't want Tenten to sit as a shopkeeper. I would rather see her working in the Military force of Konoha or teach basic weaponry and space-time ninjutsu for academy students.
Neji would live or get an epic death arc. I'd prefer him living and marrying Tenten, maybe.
I wanted a Suigetsu and Karin romance too lol.
I wanted to explore more of the Ino-Shika-Cho love stories- ShikaTema, SaiIno, and ChoKarui. All these three relationships deserved more depth and screentime. A lot of knowledge and history behind the legendary trio will be good too.
Gaiden needs to be fixed a bit as well.
Sakura and Ino's friendship needs some fixing too. I love seeing them as friends, but it needs to be bought out more mature and powerful than it was.
Some battles in the war arc could have been good too, like:
-Suigetsu vs. Edo Mangetsu
-Juugo vs. Edo Kimimaro
-Kankuro vs. Edo Sasori
Or even a Konoha 11 vs. Edo Akatsuki (with every member defeating an Akatsuki member could be good as well).
I want Konan to be revived in the war arc. That was a huge injustice to her. Females need a bit more airtime and development with some side male characters like Choji, Kiba, Shino, etc.
If possible, I will reduce the power gaps between characters and some less dependency on Hashirama's cells.
It would be good to see Kakashi and Guy having a lot more depth and screentime in their relationship. KakaGai definitely needed love from the authors themselves lol.
Damn it was too big. I wanted to write more if I had some, but these are the major things I wanted to see happening.
Nevertheless, I love Naruto to date and I find Kishimoto as a very brilliant author, though he had some flaws in place.

Shisui Sensei
In a non-mass au, Shisui is chosen to act as squad seven's sensei.
(I love Kakashi as a sensei, but Shisui would be better at it.)
Shisui has one of the best sharingan in the clan, making him doubly qualified to teach Sasuke and Naruto.
(When my diabetic verses overlap with this one, he's triply qualified as he's used to dealing with Itachi's diabetes and knows how to handle Sakura's as a result)
He takes Sakura aside early on to confront her about her crush. "What made you want to become a Shinobi in the first place? It couldn't have been my bratty cousin Sasuke because you haven't even met him yet at that point."
Sakura is forced to actually think about what made her become a kunoichi and why it was so important to her in the first place.
"It's okay to have these feelings, but they can't get in the way on a mission or your entire team could be killed. That's not something you want on your conscious."
He actually takes an invested interest in making sure all his kids succeed.
Sakura's chakra control is unparalleled by the other two, so he teaches her his signature shushin jutsu.
She does not enjoy the speed training it requires to become as fast as he is with it, but she appreciates that he's teaching her.
He also teaches her how to make afterimage clones.
The fact that not even Itachi can do that excites her immensely.
Sasuke and Naruto aren't jealous. Of course not.
(Itachi totally is. "You never even taught me how to do that!" He's been trying to replicate it for years to no avail)
The chunin exams go very differently. Shisui's hesitant to nominate them, but they're well prepared and part of him wants them to get the experience.
They still get attacked by Orochimaru, but they're more prepared. Still lose drastically, but they put up more of a fight. Sakura isn't completely useless.
Shisui is pissed to learn his ducklings have been hurt. He insists on being part of the ANBU squad that goes to check things out inside the forest.
He's so tempted to withdrawal them from the exam when he sees two of his three students are unconscious.
Kakashi (also part of that ANBU squad) has to talk him out of it.
Shisui: People have died from Orochimaru's seal. If anything happens to either of them, I'm a dead man.
(Mikoto, Fugaku, and Itachi have all grown fond of both of Sasuke's little teammates. None will be happy if anything happens because Shisui nominated them for the exams)
Shisui ultimately decided to give it 24 hours. If neither shows any signs of waking by then, he's withdrawing them.
He ends up letting them stay. Not because the boys woke up within the 24 hour period, but because both boys were alive and Sakura was doing a decent job of looking after them.
He worried the entire time though. Itachi was little better (this was his brother after all) but understood this was Shisui's genin team and he needed reassurance that the kids would be okay.
Itachi, who completed the exams alone in record time as a ten year old: I'm sure they'll be fine.
Shisui, who knows everything about Itachi: This does not make me feel better.
(Itachi, now of legal age, decides to distract him with kisses instead. It's much more effective.)
He's kind enough to let Iruka be the first person the kids see at the end of the exams, but he's anxiously waiting to be the second.
Group hug!
Sasuke: Get off me!
Shisui: I just spent the past three days worrying about your sorry asses because you were attacked by a Sanin. Accept the damn hug.
Sasuke: ... We never speak of this again.
Shisui: Deal.
For some reason, I hc Shisui as a seals person. He's not overly familiar with the seal used to contain the curse mark, but he has Kakashi show/teach him and copies it with the sharingan.
Naruto still goes off with Jiraiya (much to Shisui's displeasure) for two years. Sakura learns medical ninjutsu from Tsunade, but he still teaches Sasuke and Sakura until they make chunin.

One obvious for the ask game. The main protagonist; Naruto Uzumaki and Izuku Midoriya.
@shiryusamarkanda it’s so nice to hear from you again! <3
I totally didn’t forget to post this and had it fully finished in my drafts for days...totally.
Naruto
What I love about them:
Naruto's a bratty kid who’s not afraid to speak up and challenge something he thinks is "wrong". This, of course, is part 1 Naruto. I actually like when he's a bit insensitive without being explicitly malicious bc its very fitting for his background/how he grew up but also gives him a clear path forward as he learns how to work as a team/starts to grow. It wasn’t exactly a smart move, but I really liked how he continued to challenge Zabuza in the Wave Arc saying “he’s still my enemy” after Kakashi told him to back off. This is all good and strong characterization that, to me, was more often endearing than it wasn’t. Naruto had goals and a purpose and in early Naruto that was still clear.
What I hate about them:
Part 2 (Shippuden) Naruto. There’s a lot that goes into this but the core deviation is getting away from the underdog story. In Shippuden Naruto is the son of the 4th, the Child of Prophecy, a reincarnation of the Sage of Six Path’s kid, makes friends with Kurama, and has the most OP power of the them all: Talk no Jutsu. What makes all of this even worse is Naruto went from a loveable bratty kid to an insufferable messiah figure. To be “perfect” his natural personality is shorn down until he’s only allowed occasional “stupid” mistakes rather than mistakes that emerge from his characterization. This also makes his ideological “wins” with villains...completely meaningless. Shippuden Naruto doesn’t really...have beliefs. He wants to be hokage and bring Sasuke back to the village. “Being hokage” was fine as a kid but I expected the progression into shippuden to be “what kind of hokage do I want to be?” This seemed natural bc we get in the Wave arc Naruto pushing against “what a shinobi is supposed to be: a tool” from Haku and declaring he’d make his own ninja way. Flashforward to the chunin arcs: hates Orochimaru for messing with Sasuke (esp when he eventually leaves to join him) and Neji for treating Hinata the way he did until he learned more about the Hyuga before declaring it wasn’t fair and you had to fight against fate and destiny. Tsunade’s arc was more about reemphasizing the village was something worth protecting and the Sasuke retrieval arc, while focused on Sasuke, at least kept up this theme. But these moments of growth are only alluded to in shippuden and by the time the war arc and ending come around...nothing changes. Naruto didn’t upset the status quo, he only maintained it. And once that ending was established it was a lot easier to go back and pick out exactly when his characterization started to fall through and the weird messiah figure took over instead. Part of this, imo, is the focus of his ultimate goal being “bring Sasuke back to the village” rather than understand what Sasuke is doing/why he’s doing it and then deciding to help him or stop him.
Favorite Moment/Quote:
“You’re cute when you’re chubby” [in reference to the frog purse]
I really love the quiet moments Naruto has and watching him live out his daily life. The frog purse is absolutely adorable and I love seeing it crop up time and time again. A close second is when Gai kicks Jiraiya in the face and, a short time later, offers Naruto the green tracksuit which he’s appreciative of.
What I would like to see more focus on:
In Part 2 Naruto having a long-term goal alongside bringing Sasuke back to the village or trying to seriously think about why Sasuke does what he does and how that would potentially affect the plot. If I could go back to the very start, keeping the actual heart and intent of an underdog ninja story rather than everything turning into superpowered mecha/kaiju battles and aliens from space this is the big point that I’d want to address. In general, I really like fics that focus on training and give him a range of jutsu besides spamming shadow clones and rasengan variants. I’ve said this before, but if Naruto really wants to keep the “number 1 unpredictable ninja” moniker, learning a variety of small, diverse jutsu and using them in interesting/creative ways would be the way to go rather than spamming the aforementioned two. I also really like fics that buckle down and just go ham and create their own variety of jutsu, especially if it’s small practical jutsu rather than the latest and greatest OP Power #839281 kind of jutsu.
What I would like to see less focus on:
The messiah figure. Talk no Jutsu. The obsession with having a morally pure hero in a world that routinely employed child soldiers and put them in war. I understand Naruto was a shonen manga first and foremost but like...this was the setting/world Kishimoto decided on having. However, I will say some fics take it to far on the other extreme for my taste, creating a edgy nihilistic Naruto that hates everyone and everything.
Favorite pairing with:
Uhh...I don’t actually have a strong feeling for this one LOL. The most I’ve read has been SasuNaru (Sasuke x Naruto) because I’ve found really interesting set-ups. I like the ship and it does have a decent amount of backing in canon but it’s the little moments (or my ability to see possible little moments) that really make or break a ship for me. SasuNaru is all Big Declarations and I struggle to see how they’d actually settle down post Shippuden time into something sustainable. My favorite iterations of the ship is focused when they’re genin age and have a better relationship...but then I recognize that this is getting closer and closer to Hashimada. The other big things I run into with shipping Naruto with Sasuke is 1. Sasuke needs a shit ton of therapy/willingness to process his family related trauma and 2. Naruto needs a good support network/family outside of a romantic partner because it personally makes me uncomfortable to read ‘you’re my one and only’ (here being: I have no other friends, family, loved ones outside of you). It’s a ship that can work but it’s not my personal OTP.
Favorite friendship:
Canon/OoT - Naruto & Sakura
I do have a softspot for fics where Naruto realizes his crush on Sakura is actually a desire to have friends/someone to care about him and then they do become close. In canon Sasuke was clearly the favorite of Kakashi (if chunin arc is kept the same/similar and he takes him away for the month to train) I really like Naruto and Sakura sticking together and trying to help each other. They’re both loud and can wind each other up but Naruto can help Sakura relax a bit from her rigid view of herself and she can help keep him on track/encourage him.
NOTP:
Again, no real strong opinions here. Probably harems? I remember seeing a lot of those a couple years ago and I fundamentally dislike the harem so it will never be ‘done well’ to my personal taste.
Favorite headcanon:
Naruto is smart, he just needs things to be explained in a way he can understand.
I’m not a fan of ‘he’s the smartest person in the entire world’ trope but Naruto is creative, he created the oiroke jutsu before he graduated to genin and has a lot of stubborn determination. He’s just really bad at typical ‘book learning’ and traditional testing and he’s not a genius/prodigy like Sasuke or Neji.
.
.
Read line for BNHA manga spoilers
Izuku
What I love about them:
He’s such a smart kid and while he’s unsure/insecure about himself he still does his best. Honestly the premise of BNHA is amazing and I was so excited to watch this little quirky (heh) boy do his best and outthink heroes, utilizing his intelligence and knowledge of quirks. I really love early Izuku and how he has to approach situations from a different angle bc he grew up quirkless/can’t properly handle OFA. The sports festival arc remains one of my personal favorites and really showed his ingenuity. I also really love that Izuku is openly emotional, he cries, he gets super happy about things, he’s angry, he’s sad, etc.
What I hate about them:
Why do stories insist on calling themselves “underdogs” when for a majority of the time, they’re not? Or not as much as they would be from the original premise? Look, TDP came about exactly bc BNHA was billed as ‘quirkless boy becomes number 1 hero’ it changed rapidly into ‘Izuku gets the strongest quirk but can’t control it’ and while I was...disappointed with that, it happened so quickly I wasn’t really upset. Fast forward to apparently OFA has...what seven(?) quirks inside it and I just...it’s frustrating. Even more the longer we go the more Izuku strays away from a character that is forced to use his intelligence and creatively outthink his opponents and instead becomes...I just have to hit him harder! The Muscular fight already inched towards this but the Overhaul fight just felt like Super Shonen Smack-down 728329. Which, isn’t an inherent problem, it just doesn’t match up to the expectations I had about BNHA I had at the start and how I hoped the series would go. For a character trait that I hate: Izuku is stupidly self-sacrificing. It makes sense with his character but he shoots beyond what is safe and reasonable and I wish there would be more internal emphasis on the question “is it better to save one person today if it meant I couldn’t save ten people tomorrow?” I think he’d choose the former or forsake the question altogether (we touched briefly on this during the overhaul arc with Eri) but I think it’s a serious question needs to be touched on (or I just need to go back and rewatch things again LOL)
Favorite Moment/Quote:
See entire sports festival arc. I don’t really have a favorite moment because I love the entire arc and we get so much out of it.
What I would like to see more focus on:
Quirkless Izuku. There’s already a lot of fics, but I really do love them. It deviates a bit, but I do like the creativity of giving Izuku his own unique quirk and then exploring what he can do with that/how it changes canon. Really I want Izuku to keep his original characterization and not trade his smarts for more punching power or deus ex machinas for quirks hidden inside of OFA. If OFA!Izuku is kept, I like story ideas where he still has to rely on means outside of his quirk. Preferably this is isn’t because he injuries himself so much, but I like toying with the idea that Izuku never gets OFA to All Might’s level so he really does have to make the quirk his own and still rely heavily on his intelligence and quirk journals to become the number 1.
What I would like to see less focus on:
Quirks hidden inside OFA. Strength should have been enough, it was already billed as the most powerful quirk of all. I know this is a common theme for shonen stories, and I don’t mean to harp specifically on Izuku, but again the premise of BNHA was an underdog story.
Favorite pairing with:
Tododeku (Todoroki Shouto x Midoriya Izuku)
Friends to lover and battle couples lads, I am weak to them. I like the contrast between their personalities as well as origins (Shouto being the number 2′s (now 1) kid and Izuku from a quiet civilian background). At the end of the sports festival arc both of them are extremely well characterized and it’s easy for me to imagine how their relationship progresses from there and how they can support each other and help each other grow. It’s a very sweet and wholesome ship the way I write and read it and it’s v cute.
Favorite friendship:
Canon- Midoriya Izuku & Uraraka Ochaco & Iida Tenya
I really like the core trio and think their interactions are really sweet. They balance each other out well and their friendship was immediately believable to me. I also like later when Tsuyu and Shouto start to get included in the group and out of the “main” core friends I’m endlessly entertained whenever Izuku and Tokoyami interact with one another. (This is also because I love my bird son, but you know.)
TDP - Midoriya Izuku & Ashido Mina or Midoriya Izuku & Hatsume Mei
Really, I love all of TDP’s kiddos interactions. Their chemistry is one of my favorite things about the fic and all the villain school kiddos meshed really well and had hilarious interactions. Mina and Mei are my faves but just barely. Mina came out of left field for the fic but she plays a similar role that Ochaco does in canon as a usual source of positivity (but unlike Ochaco with additional chaos). She’s Izuku’s first real friend even before starting HIVVE and wouldn’t hesitate to call Izuku her cousin as she views him as family. In return, Mina’s someone Izuku can completely count and depend on if necessary. Mei is...Mei. Izuku is her best “useful customer” and it’s actually terrifying how similar their thoughts are, just Mei has an (un)healthy dose of Hazmat’s insanity and her own business acumen added into the mix. They have slightly different fields of interest but are intellectual equals that work well together and that’s something new to both of them.
NOTP:
Bakudeku (Bakugo Katsuki x Midoriya Izuku)
It’s unhealthy. Unless it’s an AU that changes what the start of their relationship is like, Bakugo and Izuku will always have a toxic friendship to me and I can’t ever see them in a healthy relationship. Both of them have a lot to learn and I am of the opinion that Bakugo should get the opportunity to grow and become a good person and leave behind his past as a bully. However, I’m also of the opinion that no matter how good of a person a bully becomes their victim is never required to absolve them of past wrongdoings. Izuku and Bakugo were friends once, their relationship turned toxic, and now it’s in the interest of both of them to grow apart from one another. I even hesitate to really say they’ll be friends again because the early characterization of their relationship was so imbalanced to me, but for the right author and the right work I may see them being on good terms. It’s still a romantic relationship that I dislike.
Favorite headcanon:
Crack headcanon? Izuku does have a natural quirk, the force of his tears is clearly superpowered 😂 Regular headcanon, (that is canon in TDP and kindaaa in regular canon(?)) when Izuku gets really engrossed in a super stressful fight he focuses on what will work rather than what is moral. It has...mixed results.

。    If I may, I'd like a rundown of Orochimaru's relationships with his students. Specifically, Anko, Kabuto and Sasuke. What are his current thoughts on them? Thank you!   ━━   @super-kame-love  .
Tumblr media
I have been putting off writing about Orochimaru's students because I have a lot to say but I don't know how to word it quite well, but I will try my best. I guess we should start from the beginning ━━━━━ Anko was the first child that Orochimaru took in   ;   the first child that he didn't get to know through Tsunade or Jiraiya, and so it was with her that he began his long road of learning how to mentor a child. Orochimaru cared for Anko but he did not love her  ━━━━━━ he acted as a mentor would, but there were no other feelings there, he taught her what she could be taught and analysed her progress  ; those analysis were the factors that eventually lead him to drop her as a student. While Anko ━━━ to Konoha's standards ━━━ was a promising child, to Orochimaru's she proved to be an ordinary shinobi  ;  mediocre he called her. He was able to teach her very little, because she just couldn't do it  ;  and that is something that taints his memory of her  ━━━━Orochimaru doesn't tolerate mediocrity, he doesn't waste his time on people who cannot learn what he wants to teach them and that is what happened to Anko. He doesn't resent her for not being able to learn what he tried to teach her, and he recognizes that what he did to her and the way he treated her was awful, but he doesn't think of her as anything more than a step onto the next path.
Going onto Kabuto, Orochimaru met him when Kabuto was still very young  ━━━━━━ but he didn't take Kabuto in until Kabuto was well into his late teens. So as someone in his mid thirties, Orochimaru never really saw Kabuto as a child ━━━ he was colleague and that shows in the way their relationship progresses, Orochimaru trusts Kabuto with much more information than he would someone he considered a child of his. Kabuto is, in Orochimaru's mind, a friend. Someone he can count on  ━━━━━━ that is not to say Orochimaru forgets how he very cruelly manipulated Kabuto into becoming an adept to his ideals, he planted the seed of hatred for Konoha in Kabuto's mind  ;  he cultivated it to his own benefit, and Orochimaru recognises it for what it is  ━━━━━ he groomed Kabuto into being someone he could trust, someone who believed in what he believed,  someone who would love him unconditionally, and always look up to him  (  to the point of obsession as we've seen in canon  ). As they both continue to grow, Orochimaru no longer tries to exerce his influence onto Kabuto  ;  that unhealthy manipulation ends, and they become equals in that sense. Orochimaru sees Kabuto as a second in command ━━━━ the person he'd trust to run his village if something were to happen with him.
And last but definitely not least, we have Sasuke. I'll start by saying that Orochimaru never meant to grow so attached to Sasuke as he did ━━━━━ he initially just wanted Sasuke as a vessel, nothing more. And yet, as he began to train Sasuke and get to know him a lot better, Orochimaru's views on the young Uchiha changed completely and soon enough he began to seem him like one of his children ━━━━━ another son. It was a strange shift in objectives, and it took him quite a while to understand what was happening but he was surprised to find out how accepting and welcoming Sasuke was to this change. Sasuke is one of the few children who were lucky enough to see Orochimaru's softer side, his parental side  ━━━━━━ the side of him that sings lullabies, cooks dinner, heals wounds and coddles  ;  the side of him that scolds, and forces you to finish your homework before you go out. During Sasuke's period in Otogakure, he got to be a child again  ━━━━━━ a shinobi, yes, but also a 12 year old boy. And eventually Orochimaru wasn't just "Orochimaru" said in a bratty and arrogant tone, suddenly he was "mama" said with exasperated endearment. Orochimaru sees Sasuke as family and only very few children can say they are part of Orochimaru's family ━━━━ he is Orochimaru's son, no matter how old he gets, Orochimaru will always see him as a small twelve-year-old boy whom he practically raised.

Sakura Haruno
I hate sakura (it’s mainly because of her stans then her) she had potential but eh The ultimate downfall of sakura character is SASUKE!!!!
Sakura in the beginning they try to show how she was bully and all that bull of a sob story but then ino stands up to her bullies saves her and they become friends
Then sakura ENDS the friendship over a guy!! and I get it ino should’ve never lied about liking sasuke however she wasn’t the one to declare there friendship over all for a boy that was sakura (and don’t come in this post talking about no she just didn’t want to be in ino shadow anymore or she just wanted to be better then ino no) she’s a bad friend to me
During the naruto manga/anime sakura was bratty and mean especially to naruto
She would try to get sasuke attention but he would push her away call her annoying tell her to go train or something or tell her to leave him alone he didn’t like her she’d annoyed him and he was to busy worrying about his revenge
During the chunin exams however I’m not gonna lie I was impressed with the fight against ino and sakura! Sakura was holding her own however ino should’ve won because I believed ino had sakura
ino cutting her hair was such an intelligent move that even her “genius” teammate shikamaru didn’t understand he thought she was going crazy
she used her hair as a distraction and got into sakura mind and the only reason sakura got free was her “will” or “inner sakura” like that’s some bullshit to me
during the chunin exams sakura was not strong!! So even if she had this “will” I believe it wouldn’t be strong enough to break free from the mental hold ino had on her
After that we get to the end of naruto and see sasuke leaving the village and sakura is there to stop him she even asks him to take her with him like she doesn’t even think twice about leaving her family and her friends for a guy who never once even called her a friend that’s not love that’s infatuation… so then he knocks her out and leave
Then shippuden sakura comes rolling around and I get very impressed by her especially in the gaara retrieval arc when she’s with sasori grandma to defeat him and taking out the poison in kakazu I was really impressed unfortunately that’s where she really stop impressing me
We don’t get to see much of sakura whopping ass or saving lives after that we get to see her bitch and moan when sasuke is around like EVERY TIME sasuke is around she is reduce to this crying mess and I hate her because she doesn’t even really care for sasuke
She ONLY cares about how she feels she never thinks about sasuke! she never asks herself why he’s doing what he’s doing she never even asks him what really happened to his clan she only projects how much she loves him and tries to manipulate him with her emotions
she’s emotionally abusing him in some ways!!!!
And the thing is he’s so disrespectful to her and she keeps going back for more like there’s a point in the manga/anime when he says she has no reason to love him and he doesn’t love her
so I don’t why she never got it through her giant forehead he doesn’t care about her!!!!!
He tries to kill her he tells her get lost he tells her he doesn’t love her and people still call there relationship goals
Also I have a question if sakura was a man wouldn’t this be harassment????
Now let’s jump to the war arc sakura gets all these power ups and she’s saving lives helping out and Shizune comments on how sakura surpassed lady tsunade which I don’t think she did she couldn’t even stand two seconds with madara and tsunade held up pretty well against him
And then sasuke rolls around and she’s back to her bullshit!! while she’s in a WAR ZONE she’s wondering if sasuke is even thinking about her like wtf? And he even disrespects her even more like I think in one part she asked him to tell her what’s going on with the others and he’s like what can you do nothing? So shut up
and he tells kakashi he’s being annoying just like sakura I was like girl come on you want a man that’s just so disrespectful to you it’s like she like the abuse from him
And Sakura now in boruto is a damn mess if your truly a sakura fan you wouldn’t want her with sasuke Fr you would see that sasuke brings out the worst in her
in boruto you can’t even say sasuke name without her getting depressed she smashes her house she lies to her daughter she put her picture on top of Karin’s all because she doesn’t feel secure in her relationship and I don’t blame her the man she’s “married” to leaves her to raise “there” child alone so he can go off and hang out with team taka and the girl he took a picture with!!!!
HEAD CANON(this is what I believe idk if it’s 100% true): Also I saw a panel in gaiden I think where ino went to go say hi to sasuke and sarada stops her and sasuke and ino are confused and sakura laughs nervously it makes it seem like sakura is badmouthing ino to sarada and isn’t ino sakura’s friend? Like what did she tell sarada to make her think she needs to protect her father from her? Sakura is a HORRIBLE friend
And now sakura just looks so sad and miserable I think the only reason she’s still waking around is her daughter
And then the end of Gaiden we come to find out the only reason sasuke is with sakura is because of sarada I just don’t know why kishimoto would write gaiden like that there already together he might as well make them happy but idk what’s going through that man’s mind
I just don’t like sakura maybe if sasuke was out the picture I would like her but idk kishimoto can’t write PERIOD so I doubt it
So to recap why I don’t like sakura:
- she had potential to be a good character but we don’t see her grow really
- sasuke brings out the worst in her
- and she was a shitty friend to ino
Thanks for the ask 💋

In Defense of Haruno Sakura:
Refuting Anti-Sakura Arguments
Ok. So these anti-Sakura arguments literally make me laugh. Read the manga! Guys seriously, this character is literally so misunderstood due to the anime studio’s disgusting misinterpretation and bias against her. I will be refuting the following using canon source material (ie the manga, databooks and hiden novels. The anime, I do not care for, it is mostly filler containing ooc moments so no, I won’t even be discussing anime only content)
More under the cut!
Usefulness
I don’t understand why we’re still arguing this. It’s like the anti’s ignore all her feats because they know their fave can’t even compare. Well here are her feats
Gathered intel on Sasuke and Kabuto (Akatsuki spy)
Defeated Sasori with Chiyo
Healed your faves including, but not limited to Naruto, Sasuke, Hinata, Kankuro, Chiyo, everyone in the Shinobi Alliance
Not just healed, but kept Naruto alive long enough for him to get to Minato
Gathered intel on Obito’s Kamui, White Zetsu’s technique
Motivated the whole shinobi alliance
Summoned, Katsuyu, the slug summon, a feat only shown by her and Tsunade
Dimension hopped with Obito, using her byakugou chakra to get Sasuke back
Punched Kaguya, the rabbit goddess and progenitor of Chakra on Earth and broke the horn off her head, allowing Naruto and Sasuke to seal her
Opened a children’s mental health clinic, establishing the shinobi world mental health system
Also, Sakura is a medic-nin. Are we forgetting the amount of lives that she saved? Are we forgetting that medics had a guideline they were meant to follow issued by Tsunade?
First clause (第一項, Daiikkō): “No medic ninja shall ever stop medical treatment until the lives of their party members have come to an end.” (「医療忍者は決して隊員の命尽きるまで治療を諦めてはならない」, “Iryō ninja wa kesshite taiin no inochi tsukeru made chiryō o akiramete wa naranai.”)
Second clause (第二項, Dainikō): “No medic ninja shall ever stand on the front lines.” (「医療忍者は決して最前線に立ってはならない」, “Iryō ninja wa kesshite saizensen ni tatte wa naranai.”)
Third clause (第三項, Daisankō): “No medic ninja shall ever die until they are the last of their platoon.” (「医療忍者は決して小隊の中で最後まで死んではならない」, “Iryō ninja wa kesshite shōtai no naka de saigo made shinde wa naranai.”)
Fourth clause (第四項, Daiyonkō): “Only those medic ninja who have mastered the Strength of a Hundred Technique of the ninja art Creation Rebirth are permitted to discard the above-mentioned laws.” (「忍法創造再生の百豪の術を極めし医療忍者のみ 上記の掟を破棄できる」, “Ninpō Sōzō Saisei no Byakugō no Jutsu o kiwameshi iryō ninja nomi, jōki no okite o haki dekiru.”)
It’s literally stated in the second clause that medic ninja were not supposed to be on the frontlines in battle, they could only disregard the system if they mastered the Strength of a Hundred Technique. It wasn’t until the war that Sakura unlocked the yin seal.
Compared to the other kunoichi in the Naruto series, Sakura has achieved so much more than the kunoichi in her generation, surpassing her own master in her teens.
“Sakura hasn’t shown anything different from her master? Hinata developed her own jutsu.” Well, put it this way. Sakura is a 17 year old in the middle of war, is she really going to be spending time developing new techniques or will she use techniques her master taught her, that she knows she can master and will work in combat. Also, when has Hinata’s lion fist ever done any serious damage? She defeated one juubi fodder? So have all the rookies in her gen. Sakura’s fist may not be anything new but it does work (multiple juubi fodder and Kaguya’s horn say hi), and in combat you have to be able to utilise your skill-set fully rather than have techniques that cannot be optimised.
“Sakura doesn’t have a tragic backstory/She’s too plain to be in the main cast.” Not everyone in this series needs a tragic backstory. Her lack of tragic backstory was evened out by her lack of skill in the beginning of the series.
Sakura was meant to be the girl who didn’t have a tragic backstory, didn’t come from a highly revered clan, or have any special circumstances. Her character is meant to show that just because you are ordinary, does not mean you can’t become extraordinary. She defied the odds and rose up to become a significant kunoichi. Sakura’s character was always about development throughout the story, she was meant to be someone who you watched grow despite her disadvantages.
 “Sakura is selfish”
When has this ever been shown in the manga? Sakura’s motivations throughout the manga are never shown to be selfish. She has always been shown with good intentions.
“Sakura broke her friendship off with Ino for Sasuke” No. If you read the manga and have basic comprehension skills, Sakura broke off her friendship with Ino in order to step out of Ino’s shadow and become her own person. Ino literally degraded her own friend by calling her a bud after she revealed her insecurities. Sakura breaking off her friendship with Ino sparked a rivalry to become the better kunoichi which Ino agreed was a good idea. Sakura putting her forehead protector in the ribbon’s spot should tell you that.
Her confession to Naruto? Her trying to kill Sasuke? Do not forget that the entire Rookie 9 guilt-tripped her. They straight up ganged up on her, Shikamaru told her that a war may start in Sasuke’s name. Add on top of that, Sai, told her, to her face that she was hurting Naruto with her promise. Her wanting to kill Sasuke herself was to prevent Kakashi from killing his own beloved student. So excuse her for trying to prevent conflict as quick as possible. Although her actions weren’t the greatest, her intention was to prevent Naruto from getting hurt, and to prevent the war from happening because of Sasuke.
Her hugging Naruto in front of Hinata even though she knew she loved him? Sakura doesn’t owe Hinata anything. Let’s keep in mind that the two have barely interacted and that Naruto and Sakura have been through thick and thin together at this point in Part II. Her close friend just saved the village whose inhabitants include their friends, her mentor, her parents, her colleagues so it’s easy to see why she was thankful. Also, she called him rash before she hugged him, meaning that he had worried her and she was relieved he was okay from his fight. Why should she feel sorry for a platonic hug she gave to her close friend in front of someone she barely even interacted with.
 “Sakura gets too emotional”
So we’re gonna hate on a character for expressing genuine human emotions. They may be strong 2D characters who can kick anyone in this world’s ass any day, these characters are meant to be representations of actual human beings. To me, Sakura being emotional makes her relatable. Her emotion in each situation is understandable. Let’s also not forget that throughout most of Part II, her and Naruto were under immense pain and stress from Sasuke’s defection and actions. Also, many other Naruto characters such as Naruto, Sasuke, Ino, Shikamaru and Hinata have cried on the battlefield. Are we hating on those characters too for crying?
 “Sakura is abusive”
What the heck. Seriously. Her punching Naruto? It only happened like what? Two times. Her punching him in the anime is part of filler, therefore non-canon. The times in the manga, he literally said something stupid. Most friends tend to playfully hit each other. And this is a manga series, anything that happens in real life, is exaggerated upon. Honestly though, have you ever considered that if Naruto felt as if he were being abused he would’ve said/done something about it ages ago? He literally has no problem calling her out. They’re friends. Let’s also not forget that Naruto has been punched by other females including his own mother.
 “Sakura is a fangirl”
Ok. But this was when she was twelve years old. Everyone in her class was a fangirl. One of them was even a stalker. So I don’t see how this argument is a valid one when literally every single girl introduced in the beginning of the series had fangirl tendencies.
Also, Sakura grew out of her “fangirl phase” in the Chunin Exams/Forest of Death arc, where she was willing to allow her team to get eliminated so that Naruto could retake the exams because she believed in his dream of becoming hokage. She also called Sasuke out for being a coward for not doing anything while Naruto had risked his life.
“Sakura guilt-tripped Sasuke into a relationship”
It’s been stated in the manga by Kakashi twice that Sakura’s love for Sasuke was pure and she didn’t even need him to reciprocate her feelings. She only wanted to save him from the darkness and for the real Sasuke to come back. Also, this is Sasuke we are talking about. It would be out of character for him to be guilt-tripped much less a relationship/marriage with someone he doesn’t love. Sasuke literally calls her his wife and states that Sarada is a child born out of their love.
 “Sakura is a bad parent”
Sakura was a single mother for majority of Sarada’s life. She was balancing being a mother while also working so she can financially support her daughter. Parenting skills are often reflected on the child, and so far Sarada has been shown to be kind, polite, ambitious and mature. Things that would have to be taught by the parent. Compared to majority of those in her generation, it is clear that Sarada has been well raised by her mother as the others have been shown to be bratty, lazy or rude. In flashbacks during Gaiden, we saw a loving and affectionate Sakura as a mother, nurturing Sarada and looking after her while sick, while keeping a joyful atmosphere in their home.
“Sakura covered up Karin/Taka.” Given that Sasuke left for his mission early, they either did not get the chance to take a family photo at the time, or, they are all with Sasuke. Sakura obviously wanted to show her daughter her father and so she had to make do with the photo from the Bingo book. Sakura probably covered up Taka as seeing them may lead Sarada to questioning her about Sasuke’s past, something that should be told by Sasuke, not Sakura.
“Sakura is a doormat”
This, to me is hilarious. Where? Sakura has been known to not take anyone’s crap. Whether it be from Naruto, Sai or Sasuke. “Sasuke you say, when has she ever-”
As previously stated during the Chunin Exams arc, she literally called Sasuke a coward for freezing up, and refusing to fight, while Naruto had taken the enemy head on, risking his life. In Chapter 699, while healing the boys, Sakura gets Sasuke to be quiet so she can concentrate as well as, contrary to what anti’s believe, got him to specify his apology.
 “Sakura is flat-chested/ugly”
Now this, is ridiculous. Are we reading the same manga? Sakura is meant to embody feminine qualities as her namesake is the cherry blossom which in Chinese culture is meant to represent female dominance and power. As well as this, Sakura has been called beautiful by multiple male characters throughout the series.
Also, first of all, Sakura is not flat-chested. She has repeatedly been shown to have curves in multiple drawings by Kishimoto, her being flat-chested is something the anime studio made up and cannot let go of.
Second, what does a flat chest have anything to do with a character’s beauty? On the other side of the spectrum, for comparison’s sake, we have Hinata. She has a chest, but canonically she is not beautiful. Kishimoto has stated in the databooks that Hinata is meant to be “frumpy-looking” or plain in every sense. So obviously in the Naruto world, chest size does not correlate with beauty.
 Conclusion
So as you can see, many anti-Sakura arguments are heavily flawed and can be voided just by doing some research. Please guys, be like your faves who have good eyes or glasses (not too much though, don’t want you guys going to jail)

Note
I know that you are not in fond of Sakura, but please tell me that you also hate how sp drew her without curves, while in manga, she has the best assand hips in the manga and has tits, like, I am not in fond of her, but I would kill to have her body. And then, there is Miss "usseless big boobies"
I am not fond of Sakura but objectively, her beauty has been highlighted in the manga lots of times. Inari blatantly told her she is beautiful. Jiraiya and the other characters compared her beauty to Tsunade, which, as we all know, is known for her pretty face in and out of Konoha. Her beauty was given emphasis in the manga after timeskip but we have to take note that even at age 12 and even with a large forehead, Lee has fallen in love with her at first sight. We all know Sakura is a bratty 12 years old and she has been a bit rude to Lee at first meeting so it is definitely her face which made him fall for her-I'm not saying she remained bratty all throughout the series cause she did mature at some point. Let us also not forget that random ninja who confessed to her and Naruto who has fallen for her too. All these instances prove that Sakura really has a beautiful face.
As for Sakura's body, if you would notice, IMO whenever Kishi wants to show a woman's physical assets, he tends to really emphasize them in a panel. There were times when he emphasized Shitnata's breasts in one panel. That was when she was being healed. You may look at my blog's avatar and see for yourself. With Sakura, there were panels of her standing with her ass being emphasized and I could see that Kishimoto made her outfits really sexy compared to Shitnata. Her ass and waists were also emphasized.
The thing is, Sakura is beautiful inside and out and SP really butchered her design. However, she is just one of the so many characters whose designs were butchered. Naruto, even though he is the MC, has also experienced injustice like this. To summarize, it's not only Sakura's design that was ruined. The same is true for the other characters and I hate SP for it.

Naruto Challenge
So it’s my turn to jump on this bandwagon and put up all my opinions that no one actually cares about, and here it is:
Name your favourite…
Female characters: Tenten, Kushina, Rin, Tsunade
Male characters: Kakashi, Minato, Shikamaru, Tenzo, Sakumo, Inoichi, Shikaku
Teams: Minato, Gai
Sensei: Minato, Kakashi, Gai
Hokage: Hashirama, Minato
Kage: Mu, Mei, Gaara
Villages: Konoha, Kumo
Akatsuki members: Konan, Itachi
Jutsus: Like, all of them. But mostly the Hiraishin (for the sheer badassery), the Raiton: Kage Bunshin (for the inherent functionality), and the Raiton: Raijuu Tsuiga (for the Cool Factor)
Episode/Chapters: I can’t remember all my favourites for the life of me, but it includes the Shadow of the ANBU filler arc (ep. 349-361).
Fight scenes: Naruto vs Sasuke (both VotE ones), Obito vs Kakashi in Kamui (the angst), Minato vs Tobi, Team 10 + Kakashi vs Kakuzu and Hidan, Naruto vs Pein
Fanfiction: Don’t ask me to choose I can’t choose please don’t make me, but also check out @anbu-legacy here, Chiaroscuro, Uneasy Lies the Head, and the Sharingan Rising series.
OTPs (explain why): I kind of ship MinaKaka, but it’s like my only ship and I don’t know if it really qualifies as an OTP. But do you know how much angst there is on that ship? Yeah, I don’t either but definitely more water than is on the Titanic.
NoTPs: KakaSaku, KakaIru, ObiRin
Crack ship: Don’t have one (I am incapable of crack because everything turns to angst in my hands it’s not even funny)
BroTP: Kakashi and Gai, Kakashi and Tenzo, Kakashi and Obito, Tenten and Neji, Lee and Neji, Naruto and Sasuke, Sasuke and Itachi (does it count if they’re actually brothers for real?)
OT3: Don’t have one
Crossover Ship: Nope
Headcanons: I don’t think I can cram all my headcanons into this tinyass post but uh:
Inoichi’s flowershop also gives free therapy/counselling (considering in their society, the two major events which involves flowers are dates and funerals)
Dogteeth!Kakashi
Kakashi, Tenten and Shino are all aro/ace. (I would have liked Shikamaru to join the club, but he’s got a thing on with Temari, so maybe he can be just ace, or some sort of demi/gray-a?)
Are you happy with the ending? Anything you would have changed? I’m happy because they’re happy and they fucking deserve to be happy okay. But I’m also a tiny bit dissatisfied because it completely skips over the post-war recovery period. And uh, Orochimaru is still alive ffs, and are they really going to let Sasuke disappear just like that?
How do you feel about the new generation? Not interested. Boruto seems like a very bratty kid, and the whole concept is really pushing it? Like, I don’t overly object to the other kids, but we just ended 700+ chapters and the shinobi world is happy and can we just leave it as it is and quit while we’re ahead?
Say something about your favourite character, good and bad:
Good: fucking genius, sassy af, interesting fashion sense, youngest genin, chuunin and jounin in Konoha’s history, loves his dogs more than people, mastered the Sharingan through his own hard work, managed (for the most part) to recover from the trauma that was his entire life
Bad: you’re a sensei now please set a good example in front of your students no matter how much personal history you’ve had with their families, spends too much time in front of the memorial stone, still fucking hates himself, is probably socially inept
Say something genuinely nice about your NoTP: No.
Say something negative about your OTP: Teacher-student relationships are inherently problematic, and moreso in their society. Also, there’s really no way for them to get a happy ending (goddammit why do I even ship this), and there are too few fics.
Any way to change your mind about your NoTP: Not for the first two. But if you can write Obito as not being obsessed about Rin, then yes, I’ll accept that one. I mostly don’t ship it because Obito seems very, very obsessive about Rin even before his whole speech in the Fourth War, and I don’t understand romance very well, but it was very off-putting.
What made you mad about the series?
Lack of female character development. I need more Tenten screentime. I need Sakura to stop comparing herself to her teammates and get over Sasuke. Hinata needs to have more scenes where she isn’t thinking about Naruto. I need to see Kushina as a strongass jinchuuriki during the war, and a fearsome shinobi who would definitely have been a candidate for the Fourth Hokage. And Rin. Oh my god, just Rin. Kishi, you do not kill off a mature and caring strong female twelve-year-old medic who can successfully transplant a fucking eye behind enemy lines while her friend is being crushed to death for the fucking angst value.
Also, Kakashi fight scenes. All the times we’ve actually seen him fight onscreen, he’s held back, been held back, or acted as support. We’ve never really managed to see the full extent of his genius and one thousand fucking jutsus come into play, and the one time he really went all out and decimated the Seven Swordsmen in the Fourth War, the fight scene was off-screen.
Sasuke and his longass trip around the world that leaves Sarada without a fucking father and just…it’s not fair to compromise your family just so you can get your fucking redemption, alright?
Orochimaru’s plot armour. You can count on two hands the number of times the shinobi have killed him for real, except that you’re not supposed to be able to do that! The number is supposed to be one!
If you could see anything happen in the series, what would it be?
Team Seven/Kakashi/Minato fluff
Fluff in general
The timeskip
The Third War and everything surrounding that
Minato’s reign as goddamn Hokage. It was short, but not that short.
More ANBU, and darker aspects of shinobi life and missions
More jutsus. Kakashi was introduced as the master of a thousand jutsus, not three.
More worldbuilding. Like, each country must have their own cultures, and fighting styles, and accent or dialect, and cuisine? And the research concerning chakra, like how does developing a jutsu go?
What would you say to Kishimoto: Thank you. And I really wouldn’t be averse to a series about Kakashi.
I think I’m supposed to tag people? But since I did this voluntarily, y’all should get the choice too.
