☢️ It's Patch Day and the Happy At Home fiasco is finally resolved, with a catch. - A short rant that I'll expand later if necessary. I need to update my mods.
TL;DR: As expected, EAxis managed to !@#$ up even this and I'm still using my FOMO Unlock mod. You can keep it or remove it, it's up to you. Happy At Home is unlocked, it's just not unlocked properly.
The catch is that instead of removing the lock code to truly unlock the items, the way I did in my FOMO Unlock, they instead... did some other !@#$. I think they added the entitlement data to our account data, the way Reaper's entitlement data is added to our account data.
Why is this an issue? Well, I'ma tell it to ya'!
Happy At Home has always had an additional problem. The reason I made the FOMO Unlock was because the INI modification never worked 100%. Something has always been missing, and that something results in the Happy At Home CAS items constantly regaining the NEW CONTENT gold badge. You just have to switch categories in CAS to see it pop back up again and again and again and again, ad infinitum.
This is a MINOR issue, very, very MINOR, but it's an issue, an unnecessary issue, and whatever neurodivergence I have makes it an irritating issue. It's an irritating issue because I know it's an unnecessary issue. I know that if EAxis did what I did to FOMO Unlock Happy At Home- heavy sigh.
Barring them somehow removing the entitlements from our account data, this is the last time I will rant about Happy At Home.

Is it narcissism?
I know I have narcissistic tendencies - I was "raised by" a toxic narcissist, but I'm not talking about me.
Almost a year after the Always-Online Sim City (2013) scandal of lies and bullshittery, EAxis released an offline patch, framing it as a gift to the community, as though they hadn't pathologically lied up to and after the release of Sim City (2013) about Always-Online being a core concept of the game that the game simply couldn't work without. Always-Online is what killed the Sim City franchise, because EA, despite being an estimated $37.9 BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY, refuses to invest in proper servers. Folks don't really understand or accept that The Sims 4 (2014) suffers from server woes but it does and it's why going offline in App and game is a form of troubleshooting. It's why the idea of a future Sims game having "Online features" terrifies me.
More recently, CD Projekt Red lied about the state and features of Cyberpunk 2077, released it before it was ready, and since then have proceeded to gaslight anyone who criticized the state of the game or them for their pathological lying.
"We changed how Event rewards are stored with our September 18 update. After this change, we learned that some Simmers are missing rewards they earned through the Happy At Home Event we ran earlier this year." - THE BUG REPORT IS THREE MONTHS OLD. I WAS PRESENT AND INVOLVED. WERE THEY NOT INVOLVED? IS ANSWERS HQ JUST A WATERING HOLE THEY STOP BY ONCE EVERY THREE MONTHS?
"The addition of the Happy At Home Event rewards with today’s update are a one-time make good to thank you for your patience as we continue to work on, and improve, Events in The Sims 4." - IT'S ALMOST AS THOUGH EA ISN'T A 42 YEAR-OLD COMPANY SPECIALIZING IN GAME DE- WAIT, WAIT, WAIT, ARE WE PRETENDING WE DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE THREE MONTH OLD BUG REPORT OR ARE WE ADMITTING WE KNEW AND JUST DID NOT A FUCK?
Should I explain to the people how easy it is to unlock these FOMO rewards, because it doesn't require entitlement data and it certainly doesn't require THREE MONTHS of "improvements" and- by "patience" do they mean stating the event is over and there's nothing to be done, or removing all actual solutions, temporarily banning simmers for helping other simmers and calling it disruptive spam, telling me they believe "Gaming is for everyone.™" while- y'know, they could've just said, "we're working on improving future events and making them account-bound and we will unlock Happy At Home for everyone in a future patch, please bear with us." It ain't that !@#$in' hard, but it would've required them acknowledging they !@#$ed up.

taking inspiration from ts4 vampires, i am trying to create a Dark Form for vlad. i felt like he needed something scarier than just red eyes and a few wimpy fangs hidden in that dainty mouth. any sim can put on some contacts and plastic fangs from party city! he’s not just any old dusty vampire, he’s the big daddy of forgotten hollow okay, his visage needs to arou-- i mean, terrify all who gaze upon him. ahem.
i’m thinking vlad’s Dark Form only comes out when he’s about to battle other supernatural beings, or when he’s in a full on frenzied hunting mode, or when he’s in a very bad mood. like it would take a lot to make him drop his sophisticated-aristocrat facade and morph into... this.

i would like to try these dark stain tattoos on him as well
with some long vampire nail accessories i have installed from somewhere a long time ago.
it’d be so cool to have some huge bat-like wings, a lizard tail, and spikes sticking out from his spine or something so he really looks like a feral creature from hell but that’s not possible in ts3 i guess.

I’m not equipped with enough knowledge to answer everything, but i can explain spyke and murch!
These two fellows belong to the same family, Diadematidae. and as a result, have very specific design cues such as height and, for the species they represent, one eye.
E. Calamaris has a very large, singular eye and two sets of spines (fun fact, Murch does have two sets of spines, they are just more stubble like on his model to fill up negative space on his scalp.)

When it comes to species however, Spyke’s is a bit harder to pin down. The english translation of the artbook for Splatoon 2 suggests that Spyke is with in the genus of Diadema, given that E. Calamaris are prone to be mistaken for the two of the species that are prevalent around japan:  Diadema Savignyi, and, the species Spyke MOST represents, Diadema Setosum.

it’s hard to say in full confidence that Spyke is entirely a pure Diadema Setosum due to the fact that the genus is prone to hybridisation and the fact that he lacks certain aspects of the traditional Setosum. However, with full confidence (at least, NOW, with full confidence), i can say that Setosum is his dominant species, (and i’ve been speculative about a lot regarding these urchins, you can tell.)
but have you ever noticed that Spyke isn’t symmetrical like how Murch is? that’s not due to his species, but rather, how a sea urchin develops.

it’s why his how concepts in the Splatoon 2 artbook show that the eye we see is the only one he has. you know, after core elements of his design were set in stone and drawn out. If you are using the model as a counter to this argument. you’re just wrong. I’ve literally felt talked over on the Inkipedia server due to this argument. Spyke’s head is shaped via the symmetry tool, and this was likely because of how his test is structured. I’m no expert in 3d modeling, but I do know a thing or two about cutting corners. and instead of just, patching it up, which would use more polygons, the developers instead, opted to cover it. (also i learned through mesh conversions for TS4, each spine is just, comprised of the smallest number of polygons possible. which is like, what? three-ish?)
sorry for that tangent, i just really need to hammer that down haha;;; (this is the hill I chose to die on.)
But yeah! Design cues are based on what family these sea urchins belong to. Kitamura and Murasaki likely belong in the same  family/genus/species while Ooni belongs in her own little world. and since these urchins lack what Spyke and Murch have, the rules aren’t the same! Hope this helps!
What is up with kina in splatoon?
Now I'm no kina expert on kina, so maybe real life kina are super varied. But if not, Isn't it weird how different the splatoon kina look? How come all the jellyfish look the same but KINA of all species look so diverse? Like it's confusing how different they are.
The most obvious thing is the spikes.
So we've got Murch, whose spikes seem to be directly attached to his head like hair.

But then we have Spyke, whose spikes are like a shell

And then we have Murasaki and Kitamura, who just look like kina with googly eyes

They are only seen as album art so this could just be a stylistic way of representing kina like Spyke
But then there's Oonie

And her hair is a shell??
And their EYES. Spyke could hypothetically have two, but it's implied he has one.

Spyke has purple sclera and green eyes, while murch has the inverse
Murasaki and Kitamura have white eyes, although this could just be a stylistic choice

Most interesting are Oonie's eyes, which are pink with white sclera.

And then there's the height.
We know inklings and octolings don't grow freakishly taller than the player character when they grow up, so we can use the height of inklings as reference for kina on album art.
We know that young kina are short because of Murch, and we know that they grow to be much, much taller than inklings and octolings. This would imply that Oonie, Kitamura, and Murasaki are young because they are the same size or shorter than the inklings in their bands. I personally doubt they are meant to be that young, however with Paul being as young as he is it wouldn't be unheard of.
Another trait that kina have are hands. However, Oonie doesn't seem to have hands in the album art. This isn't a stylistic choice either, because you can see the inklings have hands. Oonie is also clearly older than Murch in splatoon 2 and even in splatoon 2 Murch clearly has hands, so it doesn't make sense that Oonie wouldn't. It's made even more clear in this piece of official art:

Oonie doesn't have hands, she has tendrils. And if you look at Kitamura, she also has tendrils! What look like tendrils!
Also, it's less likely that Kitamura and Murasaki are portrayed as kina with googly eyes as merely a stylistic choice because making a stylistic choice like that in a piece like this would be a stretch in my opinion. However it's not impossible.
These are the things that I've noticed about splatoon kina, feel free to add on to this or give possible explanations for the vast differences.

Vy started running some sensory tests on her, from the needle test to the hammer, slowly realizing his darkest fear was true. Arlene couldn't feel anything. Vy looked at his baby girl.
Vy: You can't feel anything... can you?...
Vy got behind her and started pressing his fingers again down his spine.
Vy: I am going to run you a few scans, see where you are hurt.
As he informed her, he told a nurse to prepare the machine. Arlene was led to the room, Vy holding her hand the whole way and eventually she was loaded into the scan bed where, nearby, Vy kept his eyes on the computer. Finally seeing where the damage was. There was spinal damage, nerve ending degradation but the damage didn't appear to be just physical. It seemed to have hit deeper as he suspected. Eventually with a sigh he nodded.
Vy: I am going to ask the nurse to take you to El's room. I'll come to you in a second.
The nurses did as instructed, taking the girl to her twin's room, where her grandfather waited.
River watched in silence as the nurses checked Flynn over, removing the improvised splints and working to take care of the young man's wounds.

Michael: *shakes head in disbelief* First wanting to end our son’s life because it was “inconvenient” to you and now you doubt the existence of the Watcher?! I think it is best we separate. *pushes off bed angrily*
