Undercut Mohawk (4t2) for Male Teens

Heya!

This is a conversion of the Undercut Mohawk hair from "The Sims 4: Island Living" to The Sims 2, although with the textures edited a bit.

Unlike the original hair, where the sides are somewhat shaved, this version has hair on the sides. This was achieved by copying and pasting the hair texture on top of itself several times, "growing" the shaved hair. This came about because I was unable to properly fit the shaved version into the TS2 head mesh. It looked weird.

The hair is available only for male teens, and features the four basic colours. To install, simply drop the folder into your TS2 Downloads folder.

once again, for teen-elder females, plus smooth-boned and animated. medium poly at 11222 polys, which is okay for this level of detail. and as always, it comes in @antoninko's afterglow hair system naturals! p.s. i don't always promote it, but my hairs always come with volatile bases for recolorists, one of those which is featured in the preview 😉

4t3 Conversion: Simpliciaty Jamora Hair

My first hair conversion for the dolls! I saw this done by @profesionalpartyguest for TS2 and it looked so good I needed it for my greedy self too.

There is a transparency issue as you can see in the last picture: the S-Club eyelashes will show through the hair. The w0esies lashes work fine though.

Nightosphere has a lower poly conversion here (19k poly) !!

THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS! SO FAR ONLY THE FEMALE HAIRS ARE DONE! (most of them at least i need hiders for the rest)

i’m posting this here for new ts2 players who are particularly used to playing with lots of cc in the sims 4 (i have over 80 gb+ in my sims 4 mods folder). i am not a sims 2 expert i just have a cc addiction. 

the sims 2 is my favorite game and since the rerelease last week, i am inspired to play again (aka i will be redownloading the starter pack and seeing how it runs). to help my computer not explode my goal for cas is to ONLY download default replacements for the in-game items. ts2 is charming and lovely but i need it to be personalized so i can get back into playing again. 

BEFORE YOU READ MY RAMBLES: 

this entire spreadsheet would not be possible without ts2 default database! you NEED this to follow my spreadsheet and it is a useful tool for tracking your own defaults.

if you like the look of ts4 clay hair, platinumaspiration has literally replaced every single hair in the game.

if you like the look of realistic hair, malvernsims has replaced probably every single hair AND clothing item in the game.

only download ONE default replacement per item!

some things to consider:

here are the common abbreviations used when talking about defaults:

af/am = adult female/male

yf/ym = young adult female/male (young adults are only available in uni)

ef/em = elder female/male

tf/tm = teen female/male

cf/cm = child female/male

pf/pm = toddler female/male 

u = unisex

uu = unisex for life stage and gender 

this is my list so obviously i picked defaults that i like. feel free to make a copy and edit the links.

the hairs i picked are in the poppet v2 hair system. in the ts2 there are many hair systems from different creators (here's a comparison chart that's helpful in picking which system you like) and essentially they make edits to the maxis colors/textures for others to use. i recommend sticking with one system so that the hair colors will match (or don’t, it’s your game!)

many hairs have different color variants. since the ts2 does not have a swatch system like in ts4, different variations of the same hair count as separate hairs. so for example, the adult female “dreadsband” hair has 5 color variants: blue, dark, maroon, tan, and myrtle. since i am relying on only default hairs i have 5 different hairs that replace all the variants. if you don’t want to do that, i would recommend downloading hiders for all or some of the variants depending on what you prefer!

if something is left out i either: couldn’t find a replacement and will download a hider, i didn’t want to replace it (this will be in the case for a select few clothing items i like), i haven’t gotten to it yet, or more often then not, i forgot!

This is a conversion of my Faux Hawk hair, which itself is an edited version of the Short Tousled hair which comes with the "Discover University" expansion pack for The Sims 4.

The hair is available only for male teens, and features the four basic colours.

Part 2 is hair defaults! 30 of them 😳 I haven't done any in a while so this is my attempt to catch up. I've finally learnt how to add additional ages to hairs so thank you @rudhira for the tutorial and @themeasureofasim for explaining where I went wrong when I couldn't make it work 😂 I've not added them to all of them just out of personal preference but have stated where I have.

There seems to be a character limit I'm hitting tumblr so I'm posting these in two sections. The second post will have an option to download everything in one if you so choose 😌

Default Replacement - UM Short Center Spike - Wings OS1113

A while ago I created a default replacement for Short Center Spike with Wings OS1113 for myself but never uploaded it until now. For males; age child through elder. To install, simply drop the package in your downloads folder. To uninstall, remove package from your downloads folder. Unfortunately I cannot for the life of me find the original mesh anywhere online so I cannot give a link or credit. If anyone has the link I will update accordingly!

Aladdin Mona V2 converted to TS2 by RascalCurious –in Poppet V2 and mesh edit

I used Poppet’s v2 natural and unnatural colours + BerryNooboos’ cosmic, Wyxii’s mint, Furbyq’s afterglow and PMG’s amphitrite. Texture blended with Nouk’s Afro texture. For mesh edit I lowered the hair to be closer to the scalp as this is my preference (difference shown below). I didn’t make it into a new completely mesh so you can still get RascalCurious’ original mesh instead if you prefer.

Polycount 6k; female frame; teen-elder; all categories; grey binned to black; all natural colours binned in 1 file; my edited mesh included; files compressed

something for @fwaldorf over on the simcord! @vyxated's frankie hair converted from ts4 to ts2, for both males and females! i experimented with the comic shaders so, unedited pic below the cut 😅

as in the preview, it's medium-poly (~6k) and is for child-elder unisex sims. it has been animated as well as smooth-boned! comes in @antoninko's afterglow hair system, as per usual. bear in mind that female was tacked on later, so they're in separate files; female and child unisex are merged together, and teen-elder males are in another file. has no impact on functionality but for those who like file arrangement... 😄

4t2 Simandy Julian

This one was a request and since it looked like it was basically just a texture on the bald hair mesh I decided to handle it a little different... anyway that's how I found out the Tattooer only converts scalp textures that fit the female TS2 scalp. Anyway. The male and female versions were created very differently.

Female:

Reshaped texture on TS2 bald mesh

Needs a hairline to look proper: first picture is without the hairline, second picture is with (looks perfectly fine with)

Male:

Original texture on a 4t2 bald hair mesh by @platinumaspiration

Doesn't require the hairline but still avilable just in case anyone wants to use it (third picture without hairline, fourth picture with)

Because of the way the textures were converted and the fact that the 4t2 mesh was only for teen and older, this hair is for teen and older. I tried to get it to work on children and toddlers but it looked BAD.

TU-EU, <600 poly, comes in original colors and textures, includes a hairline for all ages* and genders categorized as full face makeup. Download Alternate

*the gray is for elder only just to simplify things, and the other colors are disabled for elder
