Okay but like. The things I would let Governor Tryon do to me.
Is it the Downie ho in me speaking? Yes.
But…. You know he likes to boss you around in the bedroom.
Be honest.
Be honest.
I’m so glad he’s not on here. A blessing. None of ya’ll snitch. We in this together.

It was hilarious for me to watch Downie’s TikToks and the whole time go “he’s in something else tho” before opening up IMDB to see that he played Governor Tryon in Outlander. Fucking flawless. The fucking range.

Outlander Exclusive: Star Sam Heughan on Jamie’s Redcoat Turn
Heughan teases an unforgettable clash coming in this Sunday’s episode.
BY JOANNA ROBINSON
It was teased in Outlander’s season five trailer—and now Vanity Fair has two exclusive full-length looks at Jamie Fraser wearing the red coat and tricorn hat of his longtime enemies: the British. What could have induced Fraser to wear such a hated garment? Well, the answer would be a bit of a spoiler. But series star Sam Heughan got on the phone with Vanity Fair in advance of Sunday night’s battle episode, “The Ballad of Roger Mac,” to discuss the fashion choice that sent a ripple of shock through even the die-hard Outlander book fans.
These photos are bound to be at least the second-most talked-about images of Heughan to hit the internet this week. (Or did you miss the post-workout selfie that launched hundreds of thousands of likes?) “You feel rather impotent in this time,” Heughan told Vanity Fair of his pandemic mood. “You want to be able to make a difference and sometimes you’re like: Is that all I can do? But I guess it’s important to people to be distracted and to find some levity and lightness.”
Outlander has always been a show that prizes escapism, for fans of time-travel adventure and the tumultuous romance of Claire and Jamie Fraser. But Heughan is also attracted to the idea of pushing both his character and his performance to new heights. That’s how he found himself in a serious conversation with executive producer and showrunner Matthew Roberts over the question of a coat. A plotline in season four pushed recent American resident Jamie Fraser to swear a debt to British Governor Tryon (Tim Downie) in exchange for 10,000 acres of land. That debt is about to come due—and, despite the historical inaccuracy of this moment, Heughan thinks there is no better way to convey the true cost of that debt than to put Jamie in the clothing of his enemies.
“He’s really made a deal with the devil,” Heughan said. “I pushed for it. I really wanted to see Jamie in this coat, because it symbolizes everything that he’s fought against—from Culloden, the British rule over the Scots, the suppression of all of their culture, and Black Jack Randall and Ardsmuir prison. It just represents everything that Jamie’s fought against.”
Heughan got his way, and felt the true emotional impact of that choice the second he tried the new costume on: “I had a really strong reaction to it—a real revulsion. It just felt so wrong. There was definitely a physical reaction.” But as repulsed as both Heughan and Jamie might have been by the prospect of the coat, the actor wanted that inner turmoil to stand in contrast to Fraser’s external composure. “I wanted Jamie to look good in it—powerful.”
The structure of the coat itself forced Heughan—and, by extension, Fraser—to adopt an unfamiliar posture. Large shoulder pads and a rigid structure both hold the wearer up and constrict him in a way that’s quite fitting for the bind Jamie has found himself in. “It’s amazing what a costume—what wearing uniform can do,” Heughan said. The actor had grown quite accustomed to the freedom and fluidity of movement he enjoyed while wearing Jamie’s usual battle garment of choice: a kilt.
That’s certainly what book-readers might have expected Jamie to wear this season. They expressed shock and alarm at the glimpse of him dressed in crimson in the season five trailer. Heughan himself was a little surprised to see that shot included in the season-long tease: “I thought it was a bit of a spoiler! But it got people talking, which was great. People are like: ‘Oh, my God, what are you doing? He would never wear a red coat!’ Sometimes I think fans forget that we are trying to engage them and upset them, because that’s exactly what we’re here to do: play with them, entice them, excite them.”
Either way, Heughan swears that surprise will pay off, big time, in this Sunday’s episode, which serves as the culmination of a story line that Heughan called his favorite since season one.

Note
Time Downie posted a photo. He is in it and the actress that plays Mrs. Tryon is in it too, but in the background you can see Sam and Cait standing close together. She is in her robe, but still has her wig on and Sam still has his costume and wig. Plus, he and Cait posted some BTS videos and pictures as well, especially Cait when she was trying to distract the negative attention away from Sam when he was in Hawaii.
Thanks Anon!

OUTLANDER has kicked off its new season with a romantic start, but war is quickly approaching. Now Fraser's End will have to make some tough decisions as loyalties are tested during the American Revolution.
By LUCAS HILL-PAUL
Diana Gabaldon’s epic series has been adapted into a thrilling historical drama for Starz. As war becomes a reality for the time travelling lovers, the stars of Outlander reveal that war was also brewing on set between some of the co-stars
Season five of the historical fantasy drama takes its inspiration from The Fiery Cross, as well as some elements from sixth book A Breath of Snow and Ashes.
Diligent readers will know that time travelling romantics Claire (played by Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) will have protect their family against the upcoming American Revolution.
With pressures mounting, Jamie has just been issued an order from Governor Tryon (Tim Downie) to take care of the leader of a rebellious faction known as the Regulators.
Unfortunately this just happens to be Jamie’s own godfather, Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix) so the Fraser family will have to make some impossible decisions this season.
Tumblr media
However, before the war puts a strain on the Fraser household, the family took a well-earned break as the couple’s daughter Brianna (Sophie Skelton) enjoyed a traditional Scottish wedding with her now husband Roger (Richard Rankin).
Brianna and Roger previously had a baby named Jeremiah (or Jemmy) and the stars of the show revealed that having such a young member of the cast frequently made things very difficult.
Multiple young actors portray Jemmy in the show, and Caitriona revealed that they weren’t always as cooperative as they appear.
Speaking to ET Online she said: “They’re so sweet but that age is so difficult.”
Tumblr media
The cast were asked the question which cast member did the baby love the most, and she joked: “Sam definitely doesn’t love them the most.”
Sam agreed: “They’re so cute but it’s just very hard for young children.”
Luckily baby Jemmy is frequently swapped between two main young actors to avoid them getting too restless on set.
Brianna star Sophie also revealed that, despite portraying his mother and father, both she and Roger have had scrapes with the two child actors.
Sophie said: “I have a video of one of the twins telling Richard off for being mean to him.”
Richard sheepishly conceded: “I’ve been in trouble with most of the Jemmys.”
Perhaps the adult stars would do well to polish up their own behaviour to set an example for their young co-stars.
Not only do the stars of Outlander have to deal with badly behaved child stars, fans weren’t surprised to hear that Claire and Jamie’s kitten Adso was also a nuisance on set.
Tumblr media
Sam protested and said: “Adso would love me if I ever got a chance!”
Caitriona added: “The cat is a cat so the cat loves nobody more than he loves himself.”
Even though Outlander features one of the best plotted dramas on TV, the new season ran into some bumpy moments thanks to the bad behaviour from the younger members of the cast.
