i would like to share my vision for why the ishtars shouldve been doma to support mais arc. shuffles in.

1) mai confronting marik himself makes so much more sense she wasnt THERE when he was beaten she was in the coma he put her in. she doesnt know abt his whole deal and frankly idt shed care atp 2) following this it would give her a reason to be mad at joey + the gang bc marik is reformed and technically a "friend" now so if joey and yugi and co were like mai what are you doing why are you trying to steal his soul shed be like ok fuck yall i see how it is youre siding with the guy who tried to kill me 3) the orichalcos arc is focused on how it amplifies peoples worst traits and how you have to seek out the light in your heart to avoid being consumed by hatred. stares directly at rishids speech at the end of battle city. 4) i think an ishizu mai duel would be interesting bc its never really explored how ishizu ALSO was abandoned and left in the dark by the only people in her life when marik went on his revenge quest and how shes come to peace with it + herself instead of being consumed by anger

so like. consider -doma ends up taking out rishid first. ymarik may have been defeated at battle city but now marik has to confront the fear that maybe he's still down there somewhere and will re-emerge and that he'll relapse because prior to the end of that arc rishid was the only thing keeping him from emerging -mai and valon confront the remaining two siblings. discussion between mai and ishizu about how "out of anyone shouldnt you understand how alone i feel". soemthing something you and i arent so different after all lay the foundation for mais inevitable return to good -for mai the duel with marik is frustrating because shes trying to provoke him into being the worst he can be so she can prove to herself shes strong enough to beat him this time but hes holding back because hes so terrified of becoming that person again

GOD YEEAH i didnt want to go into details bc anon asked for no specific spoilers. i really really really fucking despise liliana's design its just disgusting to look at. like the whole "looks 12 at 23" thing is already sketch but did they have to dress her like... That. its why i said before i was skeptical of if id watch season 3 but, since i already know what happens i can just skip some scenes for the sake of my own sanity. reading it was different because i wasnt forced to Look At It. i dont even dislike liliana as a character its just her design literally can we just give her some solid clothes?

like she also has the scantily clad "legal loli" shit going on except... the text actually describes it as being disgusting and perverse. its literally intentionally meant to be gross. shes the sin archbishop of LUST and shes supposed to depict the worse aspects of it. like everything about her is meant to be off-putting and uncomfortable. in isolation i actually think this is a really interesting concept, especially for a story whose whole PURPOSE is to deconstruct these typical isekai/harem anime tropes. making a character like her a perversion meant to illicit disgust, especially as a representation of the worst of lust, like.. it makes sense. its interesting.

you literally cannot have your cake and eat it too here like are you trying to deconstruct the trope or are you just playing it straight? are you trying to say something or are you not really taking it that seriously? every potentially interesting idea going on w capella sort of gets destroyed because liliana is introduced in the same arc. maybe it was somesort of intentional foil being set up, but whats even the difference? just that liliana is a good guy? that shes innocent on the inside too or something? i dont know. i think its botched if so and i dont really stand by that as a strong theme.

like. i love a lot of the stuff in rezero i think its a really well written story with complex characters and a lot of incredible themes but also like i literally cant overlook shit like liliana's design. and i honestly completely understand why people would want to avoid the series when it comes to shit like that, like, i get it. i dislike seeing it too LOL.

the transparent answer is it is a huge hassle to remove a whole teespring library and we do get that money but also we kind of fell out with teespring as a organization when they were like being weird as fuck during the protests last summer while i was in the middle of moving across the country to avoid getting my grill stomped by the national guard and its like, you could argue like, in a Business Move way that like every company is evil on account of its a company but also it was kinda one of those things where it just kinda hung in the air for us and seemed like a bummer to have it keep going. we have not really uploaded a ton of our shit to like, spreadshirt, or other alternative like, deals, bc the designs were assembled in a somewhat annoying way to replicate, and weve been trying to make like bordering 300 pages of content this year

haha holy SHIT this got Long. but yes. i’ve been. Thinking. (also literally Never feel like you have to apologize for sending me messages. i was Hoping someone would ask me about this. now i have an Excuse to share EVERYTHING ive written abt it :3)

Obviously, Roy is the leader/brains of the outfit. He grew up having some Strong Opinions abt what’s Legal versus what’s Right due to tragic backstory involving the death of his little brother which was definitely SOMEONE’S fault for negligence but since there technically wasn’t any illegal behavior, there were no consequences for it. Also he’s still angry at his dad bc he thinks his dad is also partly culpable (and also also just a dick). He’s the Moral Backbone of the team (alongside Durkon, more on that later) in basically the same way Nate was in og Leverage. He’s actually not the best at figuring out what people want (that’s Haley and, shockingly, occasionally Elan), but once he has that info, he is the absolute best at figuring out the ideal plan of attack to use in any given case.

Haley is still a thief. I mean she maps to Parker almost PERFECTLY. Her dad was a thief & a conman, her mom wasn’t but knew about it and mostly accepted it, but she died tragically in a mugging gone wrong or smth, which made Ian crank the paranoia WAY up and taught Haley to do the same in the name of “safety”. Let’s keep the “Ian is in Trouble and Haley needs money, Fast” which is why she signs on to the first job in the first place. She’s less acrobatic than Parker, tending towards finding (or making) weak spots in security, but she can still make a tumble check when she needs to.

Elan is the grifter who is somehow an Idiot but also not???? It baffles everyone. When he’s playing a part for a con, he’s FLAWLESS, but then the rest of the time he’s just. No Thoughts Head Empty. He probably gets lured in initially because he’s decided to try his hand at being part of a full team, rather than the two-man cons he’s been running that invariably end w his partner conning him as well and stealing half of his take. Also he likes the idea of being Crime Friends. He’s that tweet where it’s like, Roy: “after the heist is over, we split up and never communicate again” / Elan: [about to unveil his Crime Buddies Forever Friendship Quilt Puppets]: “never?”

Vaarsuvius is the hacker/gadget person. They have a Vaguely Snobby Yet Unidentifiable accent, dyed(?) purple hair (nobody has ever seen their roots) and nobody knows who they “really” are or where they came from, but they’re good at what they do so everyone just accepts the mystery. They probably got suckered into the team by their initial employer (who I’ll get to Eventually, lol) framing it as a challenge to their intellect, like, “oh, I see, you’re not smart enough to make this team work for you...” to which they were like Fucking Watch Me and also melted his computer. Anyways. They are joined (digitally) by their Intrepid Friend And Co-Conspirator (his words, not theirs), a fellow hacker known only as Blackwing, or, on certain forums, Blackwing_Bird. (In the first season, V only occasionally references him when saying they’re “calling in extra help” or smth for a particularly complex hack job. He starts showing up a little more in s2 and eventually by the start of s4 is a regular & established presence, but only appears as actions in a computer interface or output.) Elan is convinced he’s an AI, Belkar doesn’t think he actually exists, Haley pretends she doesn’t think he exists, and Durkon and Roy try not to think about it too hard, as long as B and V still get the job done.

Belkar is the hitter. He is on the team bc their initial employer got him out of jail for it. He doesn’t have a tragic backstory, he just likes doing violent crimes. As the series progresses, he grows some empathy & stuff, but really only for people who actually deserve it. Assholes still get decked. It’s all very touching. (Also he has dwarfism caused by achondroplasia. It doesn’t actually bother him and is useful in fights bc his opponents frequently have no fucking clue how to approach him, but he likes Pretending to take offense at stupid things just to see how far he can go with it.)

Aaaand last but not least, Durkon is the least involved member of the team. He’s actually a career criminal and Roy’s mentor, and wasn’t a member of the initial team that [redacted, I’ll tell you later, PROMISE] put together for a couple of reasons, the main one being that he’s Officially retired in order to spend more time with his family, which consists of his mom, his friend (not girlfriend) Hilgya, baby Kudzu, and a truly stunning number of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Roy frequently calls or visits him for advice and he Occasionally shows up to help out on local jobs, but generally he avoids doing crime if he can (as part of a deal with Hilgya, who is also a career criminal; basically, they’ve both cut back on the crime in order to provide a more stable home environment for Kudzu. But sometimes, you gotta do a little crime, and in those cases, Sigdi enjoys spending time w her grandson.)

NOW. THE BIG REVEAL YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR. Who got the team together in the first place?!

The answer: Lord Shojo (or whatever Normal Person Name you want to assign him). Now this is where it gets tricky: he had them do a thing that they thought was good, THEN they thought it was BAD, but then when they confronted him he revealed that it Appearing to be bad was actually a test of character and would they consider working as basically internal investigators for him? But then he had a heart attack, so, rip. But THEN it turned out that he’d left them a bunch of money anyway and they were all feeling kind of Inspired so they formed the Order of the Stick, LLC (which, no, i am not coming up with a new name, actually, because I just don’t care. someone else can come up w a justification for that name, tho, i’m sure it’s possible). Also Miko was there and was unhappy abt their actions, and also their general existence.

Moving on. Villains!

Redcloak is the Sterling replacement, because that DEEPLY amuses me.

Xykon is a season-long main villain, probably one that Redcloak finds himself working for but then “teams up with” (read: blackmails) the Order to bring him down bc even Redcloak finds Xykon distasteful. That’s season 3, let’s say.

Tarquin is another season villain, say season 2. Nale probably shows up pretty early in s1, actually, as another recurring antagonist like Sterling but uh. Less good at it. Anyways the s2 final 3 eps deal with them (accidentally) discovering that Tarquin runs some Evil Empire Company, then trying to outplay him and take him down. Idk if Nale still dies in this version tbh.

Tsukiko is a one-off s1 villain who returns briefly in s4 alongside Miko, who has gone well and truly off the rails.

Season 1 finale has to do w Roy finally getting Vengeance for his little brother.

The vampire squad is the s4 finale villain who do smth terrible to Durkon and then get the Mother Of All Revenge served up to them by the Order.

I envision the show as being 5 seasons (like og Leverage) but I’m not going to sketch out s5 because I think it should be based off whatever happens in the current story arc, possibly involving some legacy of the OotSquiggle.

Other stuff!

The Order of the Squiggle is a legendary criminal team from the 60s who stole a BUNCH of famous shit & then proceeded to legendarily implode. This has no bearing on the plot I’ve sketched out, I just think it’s fun.

The Sapphire Guard members should probably be reworked as FBI. I don’t care about most of them but I do think that Lien and O-Chul could be like, FBI agents who Choose to look the other way while the Order does their very-much-not-legal-but-still-fair Justice Crime, and maybe even help them out on occasion.

So, the Final season-by-season outline, based on everything I’ve written so far:

s1 e1: getting the team together, doing a con for Shojo, then at the end he dies and the gang is like “dang what now?" and intend to split up except then they Don’t.

mid-s1: Nale shows up and tries to trick the Order, but then gets beat like a drum.

late s1: Tsukiko is an underling of the Villain Of The Week, winds up in police custody. But She’ll Be Back.

s1 finale: Roy’s Vengeance: The Vengeaning. also we meet Redcloak as an antagonist.

s2 e1: the truth abt Haley’s father comes out

early s2: The Two Live Crews Job but it’s the Order vs the Linear Guild and the Linear Guild ARE all bad guys.

mid-s2: Redcloak returns. ugh.

late s2: the sapphire guard FBI makes its first appearance, hello O-Chul and Lien.

s2 pre-finale: once again they’re in conflict w Nale over smth, he spends the whole episodes making Cryptic Remarks, they basically beat him (like a drum!) but then the stinger at the end is that Tarquin reveals himself and Elan is like “Dad?!”, roll credits.

s2 finale, part 1: Elan is hanging out w Tarquin bc he’s DEEP in Denial, the Rest of the team tries to take Tarquin down, but it doesn’t work.

s2 finale, part 2: Elan finally gets a clue and they manage to beat Tarquin. still haven’t decided if Nale dies or not, but I’m leaning towards yes. also they rescue Haley’s dad.

s3 e1: fuck dude idk.

early s3: Redcloak shows up, AGAIN, everyone groans. he has blackmail on them, he wants them to take Xykon down.

mid s3: The Rashomon Job but it’s about stealing the Talisman of Dorukan and it turns out that Nale was there too (“oh!” Elan says. “I was wondering why I looked so weird in all those mirrors! But it wasn’t my reflection, it was Nale’s!” “Sweetie, that wasn’t Nale’s reflection,” says Haley. “Huh,” says Elan, “so the mirrors were broken?”, cue eye rolling from everyone else.), and the Successful thief was Hilgya, who’d nabbed it from the owner before it even went on display.

s3 finale: they beat Xykon, actually factually, because he deserves to get his ass Thoroughly kicked, even if only in AU form. Lien and O-Chul are there, so are some other less helpful FBI people. There’s a bit where O-Chul Exact Wordses his way out of telling his superiors about the Order’s less legal activities without technically lying. King shit.

s4 e1: doesn’t really matter. maybe smth to do w some legacy of Tarquin’s company to set up the drama w Malack & Durkon later.

early s4: Durkon gets SENT TO PRISON. Malack approaches the Order abt this because sure they have Different Ethics but they’re still Friends. (Roy is surprised and a little hurt that he’s never heard of Malack, but he ignores that in favor of Let’s Get Whatever Fuckers Did This To Our Friend.)

immediately after that: Miko and Tsukiko return as a Team, preventing the Order from working on the Durkon situation

mid s4: Redcloak makes another unexpected & unwelcome appearance but he’s maybe a little less of a dick? the Order collaborates with Malack & his Crime Buddies (hello, Vector Legion) to pull one over on him tho, because “less of a dick” does not mean “a pleasant or decent person”, and also he was mean abt Durkon being in jail, so he totally deserved it. he still gets whatever he wanted tho, just takes a blow to his pride. also prevents the Order from helping Durkon. they’re having a LOT of setbacks wonder why that could be, not to make sure the season fills its whole length or anything, no sirree

s4 finale: something something taking down the organization, headed by Hel (yes that’s her real name), which framed Durkon for their Big Crime. Durkon goes free and Extra Firmly retires, For Good, He Swears, but says he “met someone new” who might be an asset.

s5 e1: minrah joins the team! and the episode is set in like, somewhere really snowy. that’s all i got.

the rest of s5: don’t know, don’t care, it’s open-ended until the comic finishes up.

now it's my turn to yeet some angsty tabf encanto au hcs at you >:3 (bc i am in Serious Pain after thinking abt these when i was trying to sleep LOL)

so my hc before was that fortune gets involuntary visions which hurt her, BUT it's hella worse when they happen as she's sick (>>) I imagine that her visions go out of control when she's ill to the point that fortune mixes them up w fever-dreams/hallucinations so all she could do is ride them out until she either passes out completely or someone else helps her in staying calm until the visions stop.

another idea i had for this one is that fortune would unconsciously perform the vision ritual thing but instead of one vision tablet, a bunch just keep popping up w every prophecy she sees in her sickly state, which catches the family's attention (particularly shouta, hitoshi, and later on, izuku) due to her door glowing a lot more intensely than normal

which LEADS TO THS ONE SINGULAR MOMENT THAT SPARKED THIS SICK FORTUNE HC

i can see either shouta, hitoshi or izuku (heck, maybe all three!) try to snap fortune out of her Sickly Funk™ but it startles her into screaming smth like "go away! don't come near me! you'll be cursed too!" which breaks their heart so much :(((( but they're famously stubborn boyos so they keep trying to reach her until they did (w lotsa sand on their clothes lmao) and help her ride through her visions w some good ol fashioned Family Hugs and emotional support \(^_^)/

and a lil cute thing to balance out the angst, all the visions that came from fortune in her sick mode were all just mundane things that happen to everybody, like some guy tripping on air n landing on chicken poo so once fortune's feeling better, she and her bros + izuku just laugh and try to come up w random scenarios that might have led the people in her visions to their decision.

LOL the TABF encanto AU pain is inescapable 😂

I am in full support of these HCs cause they totally make sense! I could definitely see how involuntary visions would be even more painful than usual when they happen while she's sick.

Poor Fortune having to deal with hallucinations/vision plagued fever dreams on top of everything else. There really is no end to the pain for her, and it makes it all the worse when you think about this happening during her ten year isolation.

Of course, the whole door glowing bit would have to happen while no one else is around in order to avoid arousing suspicion. But maybe Minka could take care of that by ensuring no one approaches Fortune's door while she's sick cause Minka's awesome like that lol

The idea of her unconsciously doing the vision ritual and creaitng multiple vision tablets is really interesting! I bet her door would be glowing like crazy which would definitely earn the guys' attention.

Oof, a scenario like that would totally break the guys' hearts, but they're too stubborn to back off when they know Fortune is hurting. So they'd do everything they could to support her and help her ride through the pain.

I love the thought of her visions being about mundane things that they can laugh about. A very cute way to end such an angsty scenario haha

💚 anon here, that's good to know i hope days ahead are also lovely for you. Abt the q, my friend has depression & tends to not reply for few months which is ok w/ me bc i do the same when i get depressed so i get where they're coming from. we both gradually found common ground. But this time it hurt bc it was their bday recently, they told me they'll check what i gave them but they still haven't said anything abt it. on day of their bday they replied to others wishes. I don't know i just feel like i'm not in their priority list anymore. i feel hurt, also stupid for thinking like this bc ik they trust me but i can't help but feel hurt. i have no other friend anymore and the one who completely understands me feels like is slowly leaving from my life. i don't want to bring up 'replying' topic again bc we've talked about it already in past & also bc it might make them feel more worse, I don want to be another thing which causes them hurt in their life. My mind is telling me two things : 1. whatever worse i'm thinking is true. 2. i shouldn't be thinking this way because for all i know they must be under work-life stress and may reply some day.

I’m so sorry you feel this way, regardless of what they might be struggling with at the moment, anyone would feel cast aside and bothered. Especially since it sounds like you really put some effort into their gift and were excited about what their reaction could be.

This doesn’t have to bring up so much negativity. I respect the fact that you guys have discussed things like this, but I don’t think that having a conversation about replying means that you have to just accept something that’s genuinely upsetting you. And by that I don’t mean that you have to start a whole other discussion again, but that it’s okay to check in once more. You could send them something like, “Hey, did you get my gift? What did you think?” or “Hey, just checking if you got the gift I sent you?”

Aside from the gift incident, neither you nor I know what they’re thinking or struggling with when they don’t reply to you, and whether they’re purposely avoiding or ignoring you or if they just don’t know what to say or don’t have the energy to say anything at all. But especially because you’re sometimes struggling with the same thing, try to recognise how their depression tends to manifest in their social life, maybe even how that aligns with your own tendencies.

I bet that when you find yourself in a dark place, you aren’t actively or even purposely shoving people aside and selecting people you do and don’t want to be in your life. I don’t think that’s what they’re doing, either. I think it’s just them dealing with life and needing time (I agree with your mind’s second suggestion).

Keep in mind that this is my advice based on limited information, and you can do or not do with it what you please, but I’d say: don’t sit in this feeling. Take action, even if it’s just sending one more message, and know that what someone else does is not something you can control. If they’re not replying to you, give them some time. If it’s taking too long or if you’re getting concerned, check in. the trailer was so small that all 3 boys ended up sharing a room, gunner and wyatt sharing a bunk bed bc they cldnt fit 3 beds into one room it really was every childs nightmare bt they quickly grew used to it tbh

gunner was always more of an artsy child than invested in sports - though he does enjoy baseball and continued even to this day after their dad made him join SOMETHING in middle school - so he never rly earned their father’s respect, but he was always close with his mom since they had the same calm temperament

(depression/anxiety tw) he also gained a list of mental health issues that their mom had as well, including social anxiety and major depressive disorder

(violence/abuse tw) their father always encouraged pretty volatile behaviour and it caused a lot of physical fights and arguments between the brothers when their dad told them the best way to get over it was to start hurting until someone tapped out, it was just a chaotic and pretty abusive household but no one knew and their mom definitely wasn’t going to say anything about it to their dad

(missing child/kidnapping/anxiety/depression tw)  wyatt went missing on a weekend that their parents were gone because of a trip they won, and things just got worse from there, high school was really rough for gunner, his anxiety grew worse as time went on that no one found wyatt, their dad grew more hostile towards them, cliff left home in the middle of the night never to be seen again (merely leaving a note so that the family didn’t think they had a case of two kidnapped children), and their mom just grew sicker, it was rare that she would ever leave her room and if she did it was in fits of random energy where she would do something spontaneous and completely unnecessary to their house as a way of coping

the two years that gunner was at home after cliff left were pretty brutal and as soon as he could, he was fleeing wyoming and going to school in irving

(internalized homophobia tw)  things are far better now that he’s out of his home situation, but ofc he still has a few personal things he’s working thru; the paxton’s were raised in an incredibly religious household, and he’s got some classic Catholic Guilt going on upon realizing that he’s not jst attracted to women n he avoided talking abt it forever/stayed in the closet fr far too long bt he’s sort of come out now in his own way even tho he does still get a bit nervous talking abt it rly

he’s also ‘dealing’ rn (just pharmaceuticals) which is frankly funny to think abt bc this man is abt as threatening as a care bear bt money is tight all things considering and a librarian job doesn’t rly cover it, and with the amount of meds he’s on, plus incredibly frequent doctor’s visits, needing to pay for extra epi-pens, inhalers, etcs. bills add up so he’s cutting back his meds n selling wht he can spare which is . so unhealthy bt thts life in corporate america baybee!

i tried to be productive this morning but i dont think my brain will let me until i do this, so sam and bucky show episode 4 letS GO

i would like to preface this post by saying that I literally got spoilers (before i watched the episode) from liTERALLY EVERYTHING from youtube to gOOGLE CHROME when i was trying to read the nEWS so in order to avoid spoiling it for anyone that hasnt seen it, STOP READING because this episode is inSANE and you don’t want it ruined for you.

Okay with that being said, let’s get started.

1. the first scene in wakanda absolutely deSTROYED ME. ayo helping bucky clear the winter soldier programming from his mind and then the silent shift of emotions on his face as the flashbacks happened and then when he realized he was free was just-- KDSFKSD the aCTING WAS SO GOOD thank you mr sebastian stan

2. bucky telling ayo that Zemo was a means to an end, especially in Wakandan, gave me chills bc it’s a direct parallel of Zemo telling Bucky that he was a means to an end. this show is just so carefully crafted omg

3. karli morgenthau got so much more screentime and development in this episode and i am hERE FOR IT. it’s really intriguing to get a deeper look into the Flag Smasher’s motivations and see a more personal side of their cause as well, especially in the memorial scene.

4. can we just take a moment. we need to take a moment. to just appreciate sam. hIS DIALOGUE IN THIS EPISODE. actually, in the whole show, but eSPECially in this episode just absolutely POPPED OFF. after this episode, I’m fully convinced that sam is 100% without a doubt the best character in this show. whoever wrote his lines is a genius. i love the scene where he talks to Karli, and I hope that they can have another chance to talk without *couGH* jOhn waLKER *coUGH* butting his head in because that conversation was just amazing. i loved how they discussed things they had in common, and a mutual understanding and how sam said “i agree with your fight, but not the way you’re fighting it.” this line was so good. and literally every other part of that conversation. the entire plot would have fallen to shambles by now if it wasn’t for sam so let’s give this man a round of applause please.

5. while we’re talking about sam, I might as well mention that i was very happy to see him in the falcon suit/wings again. he didn’t fly in episode 3 and i missed the action scenes with the wings. i think I gotta give Sam the most creativity points for the fight scenes in this show because he can fight both in the air and on the ground with a set of wings and weaponize them either way and that’s really cool

6. the dora milaje. I LOVE THEM. omg. i was so happy to see Ayo at the end of episode 3 and they just aSSERTED DOMINANCE in this episode and i loved it. their fighting style and weapons and clothing/armor design is just so elegant and mesmerizing to watch. “the dora milaje have jurisdiction wherever the dora milaje find themselves to be” omg. they took no crap from john walker and it was sO SATISFYING

7. on that note, watching walker get his butt kicked by the Dora Milaje while sam, bucky, and zemo just stood there was hilarious and probably one of my favorite scenes in this entire show so far.

8. WHEN AYO DISARMED BUCKY’s VIBRANIUM ARM. OMG. bucky was *surprised pikachu face* and so was I. I really, really hope they run into the wakandans again because there’s definitely a broken trust between them and i want that relationship to be more fully fleshed out and brought to closure too

9. there’s no way i’m making this list without talking about zemo singing to the kids and giving them candy at the beginning of the episode. that kinda gave me “creepy guy who kidnaps kids at the park” kinda vibes but it was also hilarious since Zemo was the only one making any progress on getting info in that scene xd

10. zemo getting away had the same energy as Loki yeeting with the tessaract in Endgame lmao

11. BUCKY WITH A KNIFE. when he caught the knife askdjfk i’ve been waiting for a bucky knife fight this enTIRE SHOW and i finally got it and me very happy  : >>>> (i’m determined to learn how he does the flippy trick w the pocketknife in Winter Soldier)

12. when Karli called Sarah Wilson i got chills. first of all sarah is an absolute fearless qUEEN but also the fact that Karli threatened Sam’s nephews akdfjaksdj pls dont hurt them Marvel

13. the parallel discussions between Zemo and Sam, Lemar and Walker about taking the super soldier serum were really neat. they both hark back to the conversation between Steve Rogers and Dr. Erskine in First Avenger, and i think that was the key turning point in revealing/completely clarifying both Sam and Walker’s true colors, which will now directly contradict each other for the rest of the show. 

14. people say that sam is the character who always tries to reason things out until he has absolutely no options left. i think that really shows through in this episode, and it’s also a good reference point/marker of the other characters’ development. Sam’s determination to talk things through with Karli actually brought them closer together (until sOMEONE decided to intervene coUGH) but his equal determination to keep peace/negotiate with Walker only drove them further apart, which makes me feel that even though karli and the flag smashers are the “villains” in this story, they are definitely not the antagonists (that would be walker, who’s directly trying to work against Sam and Bucky, the protagonists)

15. bucky’s “i know crazy when i see it cuz i am crazy” sent me LOL

16. when lemar died i think everyone just went 0 _ 0. i don’t think Karli intended to kill him when she kicked him into that wall, judging by the way they all ran off after they realized he was dead. tbh i’ve been netural towards lemar this entire time, tho i do appreciate his more pacifist attitude to walker’s explosive impulsiveness. he’s sort of like sam to bucky. but his death really felt like an accidental cross-fire casualty that cause walker to reach his breaking point

17. and lastly the scene with the bloody shield. 0 _ 0. the whole world was watching indeed

alright that’s it for this week. i can’t believe there’s only two episodes left 0 _ 0. to be honest, from our current point of view as fans i feel like this show needs another season, maybe 2. the reason being, I can’t really see a space that Sam and Bucky would fit into in the future of the MCU. Sam, maybe, if he resolves the deal with the Captain America mantle at the end of this show, but I feel like Bucky’s end goal is just to like, retire lmao. but also, the future of the MCU is gonna be really focused on like the more magicky characters like Wanda, Loki and Doctor Strange, and ofc Spiderman, Thor/Guardians and Captain Marvel, and then ppl are saying something abt the young avengers or something. But yeah, as near as i can figure this show seems like it should bring closure for Bucky at least, except i have no clue how they’re going to wrap all this stuff up in 2 episodes. in addition to the mess with Zemo and Walker and Sharon’s whole deal in Madripoor, I hope they also get back to America to bring their issues there full circle, like Bucky’s issue with Nakajima, Sam’s family and their home, and Isaiah Bradley. guess we’ll see, can’t wait for next week already ahhhh

Idk how far you are into True Blood and if you feel you can answer this yet, but is True Blood worth watching? I'm a pretty big vampire fan but it also seems like adult Twilight (I'm not a Twilight fan). So what do you like about it if you do and/or what don't you like about it?

i dont think its very much like twilight? im not the best judge bc i was an extremely anti-twilight tween and avoided that shit like the plague so i dont rly know much abt twilight. i guess the most basic comparison would be they are both vampire romance and a lot of the tropes of that genre are present. also i guess love triangle stuff comes later but its just beginning to show at the point im at

i am currently almost done with season 2 of true blood and ive been really enjoying it! there is some wild ass shit that happens but honestly its been a fun ride so i dont mind it!

i really enjoy the characters the most i think. everyone has very distinct personalities which makes it very enjoyable for me to see how everyone interacts with each other. i love sookie, i think shes adorable and feisty and good hearted. shes telepathic and i think its interesting learning how she deals with that and how it effects her relationships with pretty much everyone she knows. i love lafayette, eric, pam, tara, jessica... even the more minor characters, characters that arent meant to be likable are still interesting bc they have some depth. bill is basically angel btvs like there is no way they didnt use angel as a template for this guy

i like the vampire lore in the show too its fun... i love that the vamps cry blood bc they dont got any other fluids in their body... i love that they explode into goop and viscera when theyre staked... i only wish they had more of a vamp face bc the only change is that they can retract their fangs... i just wish there was a lil more... make em creepier... i also think the sire/progeny stuff is very interesting but that shit always grabs my attention i like vamp family dynamics hehe

i think the whole vampire rights thing in the show being a thinly veiled metaphor for lgbt rights is corny and a lil cringe (the world being made aware of vamps was called "coming out of the coffin" which jus sounds a lil silly) so i kinda roll my eyes at that part

all in all ive been having fun with it! the main thing w twilight to me is that everything about it looks sooooo lifeless but i dont feel that with true blood. i think the characters are interesting and dynamic, the mythology of the show intrigues me, and i like watching vampire family power dynamics. id say its worth trying! while i do love buffy to death a lot of it takes place in high school so it was refreshing to watch a vampire show where everyone starts out at least 25 years old lmao so that was also a plus

So I was meaning to post updates for my Farseer Trilogy liveblogging because y’all seemed to really like the last one but one thing lead to another and I finished the book before I could even pick up my phone. SO- here are my thoughts at the end of book 1! (Contains spoilers)

- Look I love chade okay? He’s funny and mysterious but how on EARTH does the whole court think it a good idea to have a child deal with their political issues eye-

- like “oh, boggers! We have found a breach in our enemy’s defence after a war of interests that has lasted decades! Now we only need to gruesomely murder this well known politician, but whoever could be up to the task? Ah yes, this eleven year old warrior cats enthusiast will do”

- Yes I will refer to the Wit only as being a warrior cats stannie bc y’all know that if he was in the real world Fitz would have absolutely lost his mind over that saga. No I will not be accepting criticism.

- I LOVED CHADE’S RICHSONA lady time was funky

- every chapter I read I grow more worried about Fitz’s self preservation skills. He wakes up for the second time during the night, he is told to immediately go check on the royal he is serving because she’s sick, only to find out she’s just Chade in a ballgown, who tells him “there’s no time to explain, now follow me to check out this very dangerous hostage situation 2 days of travel from here” and he’s just like “ok sure” BABY!! NO??

- Forging is gonna throwin a nice angst trope eventually, I’m here for it

- my wlw heart is torn between Molly and Lady Patience... good thing I have two hands!

- Fitz please,,,,, Chade asks him “wait, does the Fool talk to you??” And Fitz is like “oh yeah :) I like when he hangs with me! He barges in, insults me and then tells me my clothes are ugly :)” BABY THAT’S CALLED BULLYING

- okay I know y’all have been waiting for this one so here it comes: FOOL RANT! I don’t know who this funky mean child is but I would do ANYTHING to keep him safe and happy. (And this time I’m not worried he’s gonna die bc there are like another 3 trilogies w his name on the title, so at least I don’t have to worry for a while) he speaks in riddles!!! I love that!! He acts so smug and uncaring but then gets scared when his friend avoids him, and starts going on about how he Doesn’t Actually Care About Him, The Court Just Needs Him, like sure baby. All I’m saying is please protect this kid he deserves the world.

- Verity is my only king, his wife is a kickass cool lady and I can already tell they’re gonna Fuck Shit Up together and I love it.

- yes that whole arc??? Incredible. I kept yelling at Fitz because GODDAMNIT but he did his best, he is only 14 after all (HOW DO THEY THINK IT’S A GOOD IDEA TO GIVE HIM SUCH RESPONSIBILITIES AAAAA)

second: HOMAREEEEEEEE 🥺🥺🥺 I like related so hard w/ his entire like problem and I was like oh.... oh.... this guy cares So Much. yknow and I don’t think it’s like not nothing that this guy just came into the troupe and like immediately committed himself to like helping out hisoka like he just so very clearly Wants to be here... ahhhh. oh I also think it’s fun that everyone in winter troupe are like. Adults. it’s a nice touch that makes them suitable for both the play and the final showdown I think. meanwhile summer troupe def seems to skew the youngest which like, again. also fitting for their plays. I liked how he just left the loupe of sincerity alone after he used it!! like... it was nice of him to make that choice and understand it was a crutch. anyways I’m so excited for their show, I just like checked out the theater version of it and ahh..... now that’s gonna be a fun play in the sort of bawling at tasukus closing lines way....

THE REPUTATION WE’VE GIVEN TO THAT MAN............

Second: yay more winter troupe rambles :3c

AND IM SO GLAD YOU LIKED HOMARE’S STORY I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! i just genuinely love how the game took a character and told us he had low empathy and still made him the most caring and loyal and LOVING person you could ever get. He loves so muCH, he cares so much, he gives his everything about it, even if he doesn’t understand other people as much as he wishes to, he tries because he CARES and he wants to help and i’m just. so soft about his whole storyline. He’s such a sweet and kind and loving character and it’s so undeniable how much he cares for everyone.

 I also really loved that he let the loupe of sincerity behind. It’s like, it was helpful to give him the push he needed but now he managed to make his feelings clearer to his troupe and he knows his troupe cares for him and understands how he might be struggling and so that they’ll be understanding toward him, so now he can try by himself. I just find it so.. so sweet 😭😭 

But also big agree on the fact Winter being all adult makes it very nice. It does help with the mature vibes of their plays in general and that can tackle the issues they have with another angle. Plus with their conflict avoidance in general it means that when they raise their walls the rest of the troupe doesn’t especially know how to push to know what to do about this issue (the Homare arc was really an attempt to break that pattern in a way i think) and it makes it more complex to navigate. 

Especially when like, compared to Summer who are so earnest in general, like all of them had their walls up too but when someone was being a douche (well. Tenma.) they’d call them out, and most of Summer is all “so we need to address this issue or what.”.

And i do think there’s this sort of parallelism of the earnestness of youth, still growing, still learning, and this sort of maturity of adulthood that also comes with the fact that they have learnt to keep their feelings for themselves and deal on their own. 

And it fits their respective troupe’s themes - all of the troupes really, and i love that. I really love the dynamic of Winter in general im just hhhhh

and as you say yeah that helps that therefore Winter is the one who have to take care of the final showdown. Hell just the fact they didn’t have problem with acting but problem with connecting with their feelings, unlike the others troupes, already preparing them for the biggest challenge but forcing them to connect with how they feel and let those emotions shine through. so good.

As for the play OH BOY YEAH.. YEAH. the play is sure something and it’s a TRIP to experience  live so i hope you’ll enjoy it when you reach it :3c

HISTORY;

from the second ziggy ws born he didnt stop screaming. within the first hours of his life he gave his father an ear splitting headache tht prompted him to say “that uncooked chicken’s fucking demonic” n joke abt popping “it” in the oven to roast. when this understandably received disgusted glances frm the nursing staff he ws all like “jeez alright alright i’m kiddin i’m kiddin can’t a guy have a joke around here?” n i feel like that sets up their dynamic so nice n sweetly <3 (sarcasm) (lips pursed)

frm day one he ws just honestly a rly hyperactive child. when he laughed he’d shriek it out at the absolute top of his lungs bc he’d just get this huge giddy surge of energy all the way to the very tips of his toes n it’d hit him like a shock from a fork in a plug socket. their parenting style ws rly just lazy tbh.... they didn’t have much time for disciplining him. ziggy’s mum wld halfheartedly be like “ziggy quiet now....” n then go bk to nuking whatever vegetables she’d defrosted until they tasted like dinosaur bones..... this wld not make any difference in ziggy’s behaviour

his father rly just took the stance that it ws ziggy’s mum’s job to discipline him or raise him in general which is. 🔪 please enter the 20th century sir.... get ur noggin sorted..... needless to say he wsn’t much involved in ziggy’s life n honestly generally jst didn’t like him. ziggy was a responsibility he didn’t want (accidental prregnancy) n in his literal words once said (blatantly while ziggy ws watching cartoons on the sofa) tht ziggy just “harshes my fucking vibe a lil bit”. 

he wound up leaving when ziggy was six ish.... ziggy watched thru a crack in the blinds as his mum tried to grab at his jacket to make him stay as he lugged out his suitcase..... she even tried to physically cling onto him so he cldn’t get in his ride bt the door wound up slamming n she sat on her knees watching the lights pull out the drive n even long after they were gone. ziggy didn’t rly kno what to do abt this (emotions hd never been smthn he particularly understood, his own or how to handle other people’s) so after watching her fr 5 minutes he went out n gently shook her shoulder n was like. mom come inside u look weird out here. FKGHSFHGSFHKGFHKSGSFGHK. this was him trying to show love <3

ziggy’s mum is like.... rly relationship dependent. she gets all her self worth n validation frm whtever man she’s dating.... so she went on this like.... wild rampage of jst. dating a very large string of men. they ranged frm dreadfully boring to downright awful n were always below her standards. ziggy quite literally hated. all of them. every last one. even one that tried to b nice to him by offering to help him do his math homework when he ws 13 (bc ziggy was struggling a lot w this) n in response ziggy loudly barked until the man gt scared n stumbled backwards into a dining chair on his way out of the room. while him n his mum hv a kind of strained situation (there’s a great deal of resentment from her end n kind of. blaming him fr “driving his father away” n it’s never spoken abt bt it’s very much Present in their relationship n honestly ziggy kind of resents her too fr bringing some of the men into their lives tht she did) there is. love there...... sometimes she’ll like. reach out to cup the back of his head n he’ll duck his head away n be like wtf are u doing checking me for lice? n she’ll jst smile like :)...... knowing that’s how he loves. KHSFGKJGHKSFGFHKGSHF. ugh we love men who know how to process their emotions yesssss king give us nothing <3

(abuse n violence tw) idk i won’t go into it too much bt even tho ziggy’s constantly like 🙄 when his mum shows him affection he wld quite literally. kill fr her n almost did one time.......... narrowly avoided getting charged w assault when one of her bfs was drunk n evil n he went into protective mode.... idk he. has gone thru a lot n seen a lot n so has his mum. they look after each other the best they kno how despite the negatives in their relationship.... it’s complex <3

literally got in trouble so. often. at school. he ws always hyperactive (undiagnosed adhd n also probably not helped by the fact he ws jst allowed to eat sm junk food w 459729457952 sugar percentage all hours of the day) bt when his dad left n like. dealing w acting out so severely at home where his mum’s bfs were concerned it rly escalated..... i jst think he ws like. literally a terror. probably got suspended so many times. maybe even was permanently expelled before he cld get his diploma honestly. set off a firework in school hallway. smthn absolutely reckless n stupid.

hs hd a bunch of jobs mostly in the service industry...... usually ends up getting fired.... worked at mcdonald’s fr a while n then one day he went in rly high n ate three cheeseburgers in front of a weeping child who hd ordered one.... promptly gt fired bt he ws like yo fuck this place i’m quitting n threw off his apron n was like who’s with me??? who’s joining the union??????? to the rest of the staff n they were all mostly like >_> <_< before security approached to forcibly remove him n he grabbed a cookie n crammed it into his mouth in rebellion mid frantic n frankly possessed escape.....

in terms of wht’s going on to this day w his living situation i honestly think he still lives w his mum. i can just see this. KHGFSKGHSFGKSFGH. in like. a ramshackle bungalow in delphinus heights.... having said tht she probably isn’t. there tht often nw she’s dating her latest man (jonas, somehow always sweaty no matter the weather, wears too many gold rings n smells like shoe cleaner) who owns a car dealership n thinks he’s a kingpin for it. still home sometimes tho.

PERSONALITY:

ziggy spends his days working shifts at an ice cream parlour (one he got fired from once bc he broke in high n ate sm ice cream he was lay on the floor in the bk pants unbuttoned stomach bulging sm calling himself garfield saying he had too much lasagna. they hired him bk tho bc he has a harem of middle aged women who lust after him n it brings customers....) or like. cruising parties...... setting off fireworks.... skateboarding...... breaking into abandoned buildings.... filming stupid jackass type tricks....... playing guitar hero...... getting drunk at the arcade..... sometimes busking fr cash in a tossed dwn hat (very badly) (thinks he’s sick at it however)........ or alternatively...... fucking chicks aha...... fuck.......... not exclusive to chicks tho just had to sound despicable bt :smirk: he’s bi Baby.... 

i won’t lie he’s kind of an asshole................ never rly was taught properly how to empathise with ppl so like he struggles w that....... sometimes he’ll say smthn tht’s genuinely just quite mean n doesn’t need to be said but he doesn’t rly realise it’s like bad. n he’s like. what’s the deal haha why are u mad......

has a bit of a god complex where he thinks he’s the sexiest person in any given room n it’s kind of funny bc like dylan minnette’s sexy to me bt tht isn’t a widespread opinion n ur being a bit bold ziggy...... regardless has confidence thru the roof tht isn’t rly deterred by anything or anyone.....

dyes his hair 49729572459752 colours every colour under the sun. sometimes all at once jst different patches. wears lots of tie dye tshirts n basketball shorts even tho he doesn’t play basketball. rly colourful sneakers. just lots of loud colours tbh. often wears a paper clip in his ear as an earring. pierced it himself. someone probably recorded him doing it fr his insta story. probably was drunk.

drives a vespa around tht is baby blue with pastel yellow polka dots. it has lots of tin cans attached to the back by string like on those cars when u just got married. he did not just get married. u can hear him arriving frm over a street away.

almost never pays fr anything bt is always like “yo it’s my treat” n then either dine n dashes or u have to pay

an attempted teenage relationship: i’m like. tentative to even put this one bc i just feel like ziggy wld be a shit bf. KJHGFSHGFHGSFHGFKGHFKSG. but. maybe it ended in drama.....i’d say this wld probably be a girl bc in hs he probably ws less open w his sexuality... maybe ziggy cheated on her or she cheated on him................ angst........ strife.... we love it we love it........ i crash my car into the bridge... i don’t care... i love it... sudden icona pop moment me stood on stage singing karaoke.... it’s just gone 7am as i write this so i apologise if this is losing any. coherency. smiles so sexy....

last adolescent plot i swear: i picture when ziggy was expelled he somehow amassed a large group to protest w signs outside the school fr him to be accepted back. it didn’t work. he threw a party when he received news he hadn’t got back in anyway. maybe ur muse was involved or helped organise this or was violently opposed.

enemies: ppl who just. don’t like ziggy bc like honestly that’s so fair n valid. OMG Haziran and Poyraz were so cute this episode! There was so many sweet and romantic moments of them that I think this review will be actually a list of all these moments:

AAAAHHH HE KISSED HER!!! It was about time. And if we think that they had a LOT of almost kisses then it was more than time for them to forget all the buts and just make out.

Liked that the ep didn't end with him hurt and convinced that she felt nothing for him. I hate when episodes end in a heavy mood.

I loved the Poyraz of this episode. He was so kind and gentle with Haziran. They didn't fight for any reason like they always do. It was a welcome change. They could be like this for the rest of the dizi and I wouldn't care. I don't like when Poyraz imposes his will to Haziran so I was really happy to see Poyraz warming up to her, making some moves and being direct to her abt him liking her. I was actually a little bit sorry for him at times cuz he was so sweet to her trying to profess his love but she was really avoiding him. But she had a good reason for that.

Loved seeing Haziran jealous of Poyraz. He was all sweet and kind to her the whole episode, I needed her to show some feelings for him as well. Actually, it was really good to see that they were accepting and admiting to themselves that they like each other cuz this was already obvious from past episodes. Now they're being more open abt it.

Loved to see them building their trust in each other (although painful at the same time as Haziran is actually lying to him). She believed in his innocence and that's a lot important in a relationship. That scene of Poyraz acknowledging that Haziran is right when she says he's a rude guy who can't deal with people just for Haziran to say that he was right for kicking out that customer, that she wouldn't have the same self control he had in that situation was so important for their relationship development so far. They always fight because they can't agree and admit that the other is right. Now they're not being proud to say that anymore. Hope they continue like his next episodes.

Loved the scene when Poyraz goes after that guy who lied abt the hotel. First Haziran prevents him from beating the guy, then they have some kind of common understanding at that moment to convince the guy of talking. They form such a good team! And they didn't even need to talk abt it. It was amazing!

Now moving on to other things:

I understand Haziran trying to avoid Poyraz's love confession. She really can't be with him without telling the truth. But if we think about it his could be good as it prevents them to be together with the secret's shadow haunting their relationship (and how could Haziran be happy with him if she's hiding this from him? I'd hate that!). I don't think it'll take a lot of time for the secret to be revealed. As @middle-eastern-queen said, AM has a good pace and does not drag. I think the secret reveal is closer than ever. Haziran can't hide it anymore (aunt Aliye knows and now Alper too) and she almost said it a lot of times this ep. What I'm most afraid of actually is that Poyraz might take a lot of time to forgive her. I don't have a good experience with this kind of plots. It's always a lot of stress for too many episodes so I'm worried abt that. But I'm also trusting the good work the writers have done so far snd let's hope for the best.

I did NOT like aunt Aliye (is that her name? subs are not that good and I never pay attention to that). At first, when she was still in a coma, I thought she would be those sweet and wise aunts who will always say the right thing when you need, and also that she would root for Poyraz to be with Haziran (idk why I thought that, I just did). But now I just think that she's a rude bossy old lady. Maybe that's just the impression given by the ep (I hope it is so) but for now I just don't like her. It's obvious that's she's gonna be a problem for our couple, and all that just bc of some kind of conflict she has with Haziran's mother (I actually have a lot of questions abt that: what's Zeynep's past with Poyraz's father? Did they have some kind of affair or smth like that? If not then why does Aliye teyze has such a dislike for Zeynep? And what is her past with Idil's father? Is this just a crush, a platonic love or there's more to that? Does Zeynep and aunt Selma's grudge with each other has smth related to any of the previous questions? I think most of my questions are related to Zeynep. Maybe everyone just have a problem with Zeynep just bc of her difficult personality, that would be possible too). And Aliye teyze remembered everything Haziran said to her during coma?! This dizi really is fast with the story. They could keep this drama going on at least for next ep but they worked it now.

I don't like Zeynep. She doesn't like anybody and just walks around being rude to people. She's not a good mother and not a good friend. Her only use now is to bring mysterious relatonships into light. Seriously, what is it that this woman has a bad relationship with everyone? Even Görkem, who simply adored her, she was able to push away. This woman is toxic.

Speaking of Görkem, I liked him more in this ep. Maybe I'm beginning to like him more, who knows. I just know that I like seeing him with Selma teyze (she's so cute!), with Sadık, with Nehir, even with Idil (I love when he calls her a snake, at least someone sees her for who she is).

I really like Alper and Biricik together. They cute. But I didn't understand Melisa not allowing (??) them to date and Alper taking that seriously. What was that about?! And Biricik thought that was normal. It was weird. And speaking of Alper and Biricik, what's gonna happen now that Alper knows the truth abt Haziran? Is he gonna tell? OR maybe he'll make Haziran tell. OR he'll just shut up abt it bc he likes Haziran. Idk I'm just throwing things out in the air. I don't watch fragmans so maybe you guys have more information than me and I'm saying stupid things but anyways.
