The crew make it back to England and a few months later, the admiralty host a social function and crozier is only going so he can check in with the men, see how they're recovering. And while he's there, he spots James. But as he approaches, he overhears him talking about this "beautiful and elegant creature" he has back home

And crozier thinks "ah, alas. He is straight. But I'm happy he found someone..."

Meanwhile James won't stop telling people about his cat. Also he's carrying the BIGGEST torch for his co-captain, who is tragically uninterested in men. Whacky shenanigans ensue

What really upsets me about this whole storyline is that it feels so rushed. I know that Eddie is in Texas and can't help the 118, but they easily could have fixed the discontent people have over his continued absence by two small changes.

8x14: Have Eddie's number pop up on Buck's phone on the way to the lab emergency. Buck texts/answers to say he'll call him back later.

8x15: Like others have said, in the ending montage, have Eddie's phone ring and him react to the news being relayed.

Both of those scenes would have taken seconds of time, and hey, if Tim really wanted Tommy's reaction too, they could have fit that in! Instead we got a gratuitous helicopter chase and not even a mention of a Main Character who has been tied to 118 and Bobby for years.

Truly the only ones who seem happy about this are the BT fans who only care about That Man.

At this point I don't see the show lasting beyond S9. I don't see Angela sticking around, and I wouldn't blame Ryan for wanting to book it considering how badly he's been sidelined and how half his scenes seemingly get cut. At this point, he's treated like a guest star.

Idk if Tommy will stick around (I hope not), but it feels like Tim is trying to get away with playing both sides of the fandom for funsies because he wants the engagement, meanwhile destroying Bathena who were the heart of the show.

Whether or not Bobby somehow does come back from the dead and this has been some elaborate joke, the show broke the trust of a lot of their audience. I just don't see how they can come back from this.

I kinda assumed that all Sterek/Steter antis are just... also people who hate/dislike Stiles. That that factors into it.

And I'm not saying everyone who likes Stiles has to ship these ships. Absolutely not. But I somehow expect someone who is a Stiles fan to... understand the to the character important dynamics and relationships?

Like, you can go "I personally don't ship it, but being aware of the depth of this canon dynamic, I understand why people would ship it", you know?

But to go "EEEWWW WHY WOULD ANYONE SHIP THIS?" shows, to me, a fundamental lack in... understanding Stiles as a character? Because characters are so defined by their dynamics to other characters. And if you don't understand why THE two biggest and most popular ships in this entire fucking fandom are being shipped by people, and both of these ships feature the character you supposedly like, then I'm sorry but that makes me think you weren't really paying attention to the show, or the character, at all.

Seriously, if I love a character, I have to understand where they stand with the people important in their life. And even if something is an absolute NOTP for me, for a variety of reasons, I can still follow the logic that led people to shipping them because I have read/watched the source material and know their canon dynamic, in which most ships are rooted.

I truly cannot fathom how anyone could watch Star Wars and come away thinking that the Jedi did nothing wrong/that their philosophy was correct. Like did you even watch Return of the Jedi? If the Jedi had had their way, Luke would have killed his own father. The entire point of Star Wars was that the Jedi were very wrong and flawed.

Re. your reaction video gifset: maybe it's just me, but it's not even fun anymore, it's just painful/frustrating. And while I'm glad the others did (eventually) speak up, I'd love it if in general we could move away from the idea that the only issue here is ppl criticising First (which tbh I haven't even seen), and not, you know, them fundamentally misunderstanding and consequently hating one of the show's core characters. If nothing else ppl should understand that, as an actor, the one responsible for conveying the truth of said character, that misunderstanding is gonna hurt him all the same.

i'm not an actor, so i don't know exactly how it must feel from the perspective of a performer, but as a viewer, i 100% agree with you when you say this isn't even funny or amusing at this point. first is a dear, he's very mindful, so i can't imagine him calling people out harshly for their misinterpretation of kant. he just looks sad when he talks about it now. first is someone who puts a lot of work on the characters he plays, he tries understanding them, and playing them respectfully, so i can only imagine how frustrating it is that people hate on kant without putting thought into why he did the things he did.

and let's be clear, this is not on first even though i haven't been as lucky as you anon, and have seen people being nasty towards him as if he's the character and not first. fandom created such a bias and made kant their villain because apparently focusing on the guy who has no other options since he's being blackmailed is easier than seeing the real problem aka christ, police captain, who brushes shit under the rug and get civilians to do his dirty work instead of doing the work himself.

first in a phenomenal actor. he expresses all the things he needs to express, either with words or looks or actions. maybe if people who complain about kant or kantbison actually watched the show and their scenes, they wouldn't fail to understand his character and need to create wild lies to make their pettiness sound like is grounded.

thinking about the Demetri and Yasmine scene in s6 never fails to make me laugh bc like truly who is it for? Like who was clamoring for more screen time of their favorite ship Demetri and Yasmine??????? Half convinced the only reason it’s included is to make his whole s6 plot line seem less gay, which only backfires bc it reminds you he has a girlfriend which then makes you think “why doesn’t he care where she goes to college”. Don’t even get me started on the zero sign or mention of Moon.
