I rewatched Tron Legacy and for some reason I remembered the portal as opening and closing on its own once a cycle, but apparently that’s not what happens?

The movie implies that it opens when a User comes in, closes after 8 ‘hours’, then NEVER opens again? It just…closes forever until he returns from outside?

And Kevin’s plan in that event seems to have been to page Alan and be like “yeah so I borrowed your wife’s portal into the digital world and made my own universe, and I got too into building a new city with the program homies so I was late getting out and the portal like closed on me and now I’m trapped in my computer forever unless someone logs in and releases me. Can you come pick me up”

Yeah that sounds like him

Tron in the flashback telling him “I don’t like when you cut it this close” gave me secondhand stress after realising it

In Betrayal, Tron put his all to try and save the Sea of Simulation from Clu. And he was visibly shaken and angered when he failed. He snapped for the first time.

In Legacy, Tron is reborn fully freed of Clu's control in Sea of Simulation.

Last July I spent a lot of time practicing gouache and using TRON as the baseline! These were all meant for practice in a series I never finished but still wanted to share with the tronblr fans on here!

Tron update 2:

I will of course be keeping my penis, I earned it, it has crawled through miles of mud, barb wire, and ant hills to be on my digital body.

I will however be limiting the size and format to a 2gb jpg file, fair is flair and I’m fine being a base line and I am (k)not ashamed of it weird strange horrid shape and the artifacting due to the amount of compression it will be experiencing.

I know Tron and CLU 2 didn’t have a very tight relationship, but isn’t it just messed up to know that an acquaintance who you talked with about personal problems, who you let into your life, who you treated fairly, who you stood beside at some point, is out there hunting you down to want to use you as a puppet.

Tyrace's Origin is as muddled as his corrupted memories of it all. He was created on an Independant system as a prototype Chimera Program (basically like a program that can learn and adapt to any job or function, similar to a rudimentary User-made ISO.) He was loaded into the Encom system to test his functionality in real time, and see if his Programming would work in a true scenario. Unfortunately, his coding was very unstable, resulting in a glitch... then a full compromization... morphing his adaptogenic code into that of a virus. He was ripped out of the Encom system both for safety of the System's other functions, and to protect whatever was left of the Beta Program, and stored on an empty drive... one that was stolen by Flynn to extend parts of the Grid onto. Finding himself conscious once again, missing memories, and corrupted... abandoned and cut off from his home and User... He escaped onto the Grid... living out his life in the Outlands... trying to find a cure for his... condition... while also protecting cities from his own kind.

Thinking about how much Tron loved the games in Betrayal before they turned into killing games. Beck participated in games with the garage gang. Do you think their sparring/training ever brought Tron back to the days of the original games? Do you think some small part of him was happy to be fighting again, without the goal of derezzing his opponent?

Clu's changing attitude toward the Games are interesting. In early Betrayal, he doesn't partake in the games, he doesn't even come to the arena. He doesn't even know programs love the games.

Later in Betrayal, we see he's ordered guards to de-rezz the losers in arena which pisses off Tron greatly. But Clu is still not seen in arena himself at all, as far as we are shown. Once confronted with Tron, Clu revokes the order. Maybe this was an attempt to rile up Tron and catch his attention.

By the time of Legacy, Clu is an active avid audience of the games, in his VIP lounge, even manipulating the environment with those spheres. It's really a game to him now.
