That’s me! You fail to mention that my main exposure to Sonic lore was the Sonic Underground opening and only the opening, bc it was used as the trailer for the show.

I have no idea how I knew knuckles existed, must’ve been thru cultural osmosis? Anyway I thought Knuckles was the best friend, no idea who Tails was. I knew of Shadow via cultural osmosis as well.

I’m fairly certain that most people who don’t interact with anything sonic related know of the existence of Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Eggman, and maybe Amy. Anyone beyond that is a deep cut.

(Source: I grew up playing the Winter Olympics games, and I had a experience in high school of being very confused why everyone else hadn’t learned through cultural osmosis who Blaze or Vector were like I thought I had)

Just realized that, in the world of Winx Club, it's possible for the Trix to still be triplets while allowing for Icy to have grown up with only her little sister. After all, succession crisises and sabotages are common enough with siblings of different ages (see how Louis XVI's brothers fanned the flames that would erupt in the French Revolution because if enough people believed their nephew was actually Fersen's son then it would be them to succeed to the throne) and early seasons have shown how fragile the rulers' authority actually is in this universe (Heraklyon is so politically unstable a high-ranking vassal sent ninjas after the crown prince and kidnapped his fiancee and got away with both, and Stella briefly lost her spot in the succession order when her dad remarried in spite of it being against Solaria's law), it would be easy for their parents to panic when they got triplets... And, not being heartless, rather than kill Darcy and Stormy in the crib they simply entrusted them to someone who could raise them AWAY FROM THE THRONE while keeping tabs on them in case something happened to Icy (and later Sapphire).

And then, when the Shaman Witch happened to the entire planet, Icy could use the information to track down her sisters and convince them to help...

Jokes aside: While technically possible, I like the idea of them being pretty unrelated and just vibing so hard they become ride or die.
