Yeah I couldn’t help but fall in love with it. Absolutely in love with the horror of the spiritual implications for John. I think the game is very solidly crafted!! My favorite detail is how God or his will is never explicitly shown, only relying on the actions of the faithful protagonists to represent him in what they do; while orders of evil and Satanist themes are shown very explicitly and made to be very real and very deadly. It’s a subtle but very important detail that opens up possibilities for very good conversation on how exactly God is expressed through one’s faith!

It’s also why the Shining Angel Figure scene (“John, son of man, what dost thou wish?”) gave me chills. At first, I was completely convinced that we were seeing God, and was a twinge disappointed by that, but still fully immersed in the story. When I learned that the figure seen was, in fact, not God, but the devil that 1 Corinthians warns about, it rocked my perception of the game (in a very good way!).

I have a lot of thoughts about the religious implications behind Faith, and one day want to return to earn the Good Christian Boy achievement. Until then, though, I will be content to quietly vibe within the fandom. Here’s some WIP art that I, unfortunately, probably will never finish.

Design - 8/10; just a pomeranian. I like those though. While there's nothing quite special about him, I still like his design and little chest fluff :)

Effectiveness/Purpose - 10/10; I don't want to spoil the game, so I'll try my best to make it vague.

Literally the goodest boy. He stuck around no matter what, and loves his owner! He even did [redacted] to make sure that Sissel saved everyone! :)

Overall - 9/10; ballistic missile inbound. Seek immediate shelter

There was a pause in the priest’s movements, a slight raise of the eyebrows indicating his surprise at the question. His face quickly contorted into one of one of discomfort, his eyes beginning to shy away for a mere moment.

“Guarantee, we weren’t the only ones who had gone missing,” John commented, a harsh exhale escaping his lips before he redirected his gaze back toward you. He played with a loose thread of fabric that hung off the hem of his shirt, a futile attempt at self-soothing.

“However, we were the only ones remaining. Me and Lisa—it’s been difficult to even write her back since the incident.”

The man fell into a silence, the strained, dry feeling in his throat now beginning to burn.

“Let us move on, yes?”
