punish | poly!marauders
Tumblr media
pairing: poly!marauders x fem!reader (james, remus, & sirius)
warnings: choking, rough sex (MDNI 18+), smut, spanking, triple penetration (including anal)
────── ☾ ──────
“You’re joking. I mean, you have to be joking, right?”
You toyed with your fingers, watching your hand movements in an effort to keep your head down and avoid eye contact as your legs began to shake, your feet reaching the floor as you sat on the edge of your bed. “I’m sorry, it just felt like something I should tell you-“
“It felt like something you should tell us? Fucking hell, angel, you can’t be agreeing to dates with other guys when you’re with us.”
You sighed, protesting, “but it’s not a date! He just needs help studying, I just thought it would be weird if I didn’t tell you.”
“If it’s something you have to sit us down and tell us about, doesn’t that set off a red flag?” James asked calmly, trying to level with you.
“I mean, not always,” you admitted, “I kinda have to do this with Sirius every time I even breathe the same air as a boy.”
Sirius was pacing back and forth in front of your bed, but he stopped when you spoke his name, turning toward you. “Do not act all innocent with me, you know you lead them on.”
“I don’t!” you protested.
Sirius was frustrated, his nostrils flaring as he gripped your jaw, forcing your head upward and your eyes to look at him.
“Look me in the eyes and try to tell me you didn’t say yes to him, knowing we would have an issue with it.”
“I-“
“That’s what I thought,” Sirius spat, “you knew how we would react, yet you agreed to it anyway.”
“You don’t control my decisions.”
You knew what you were doing by talking back to Sirius. He knew you made your own choices, but the truth was, you made this choice because you knew it would piss your boyfriends off. When they were jealous, they were mean.
Sirius tightened his grip. “What did you just say to me?”
“Take it easy, Sirius,” Remus said, approaching you two, “she’s clearly doing it to get a rise out of you.”
Sirius stared into your eyes. “Are you?”
Instead of responding, you couldn’t help but let out a small giggle, which was the wrong thing to do.
Sirius pulled you to a stand by your jaw, spinning you around and pushing your front down, folding you onto the mattress.
“Something funny?” Sirius asked, and you shook your head no, your breath taken away by the haste of his action.
Remus leaned over the other side of the bed, his chin resting against the mattress, his face level with your own. “I tried to stick up for you, but unfortunately I think you’re going to miss your date.”
“It’s not a d-“
Before you could finish your retort, Sirius connected his palm with the flesh of your ass, causing your body to jolt slightly forward.
You gasped at the sudden pain, and Remus stuck his lower lip out, hyperbolically pouting. “Poor baby, did that hurt? Maybe you shouldn’t agree to dates with other guys.”
You sighed. “But I told you it-“
Sirius hit you again, harder this time. You nearly squeaked at the surprise of the feeling.
“Just stop talking, baby,” James said. He was standing somewhere behind you, near Sirius, but you couldn’t see him. He was always the nicest to you, and his brain felt bad when you were being punished, as much as his cock disagreed.
Sirius flipped your skirt up and pulled your underwear down your legs, exposing you from behind to your boyfriends.
“James, care to take over?” Sirius asked, backing away from your body.
James smiled, dropping to his knees, his face level with your core. You couldn’t see what was happening, but you knew it was James from the way he slowly darted out his tongue, tasting between your folds as his hands came to hold your waist, keeping you in place.
James was by far the most skilled with his tongue, so the boys elected that he would be best equipped to work you up properly.
You rested the side of your head against the sheets, whining softly as James began to taste you, swirling his tongue around your bud and sucking on your clit.
It was difficult for you to stay quiet, especially with James between your legs. The more he worked you up, the louder he became.
“Fuck,” you whimpered.
“Shut up,” Remus demanded.
You couldn’t help but continue to moan and whine as James flicked your bud, causing your legs to shake slightly as he grabbed your ass, pressing his face even closer into your cunt.
“I said shut up,” Remus warned, “bad girls don’t get to make noise.”
“I’m not a bad girl,” you protested.
Remus gave you a wide-eyed stare. “You really wanna be punished today, huh?”
You only squealed in response when James’s tongue began to move faster and faster, trying to coax you to climax.
Remus bent down next to you and clasped a hand over your mouth, shutting you up since you wouldn’t do so yourself.
Your moans were muffled under his hand, which only worked James up more. He wanted to watch you struggle, and he wanted to make you moan so loud that it wouldn’t matter if Remus’s hand was covering your mouth or not.
You gripped the sheets, trying to steady yourself. Sirius, who was suddenly behind you, lifted one of your legs until it was bent on the bed, giving James even easier access to your core. You were even more on display for the boys with your skirt forcibly pushed up around your waist.
You were whining freely underneath Remus’s hand, your orgasm threatening to crash over you at any moment. Just when you began to squirm from the near overstimulation, James pulled away, bending his body identically over yours and moving his hand to insert a finger into your core.
You tried to press your forehead into the sheets, but Remus’s grip on your mouth was too tight. As James began to ruthlessly move his finger in and out of you, his unoccupied hand pressed the side of your head into the mattress.
“You wanna come?” he whispered into your ear, and you did your best to nod your head, but it was nearly impossible.
Just as you began to squeeze around James’s finger, he pulled completely away from you, leaving your core feeling empty and your body cold due to his body no longer against yours.
Your cunt clenched around nothing, the empty feeling causing you to wiggle your ass in an attempt to get one of the boys to give you the attention you now craved.
“Flip.”
Remus’s voice was strict, your body reacting to his instruction as you stood and turned over, laying back down on the bed. Finally facing upward, you could see what was going on.
Remus stood between your legs and pulled you toward the edge of the bed. You leaned yourself up on your elbows, but Sirius was way ahead of you, gripping your wrists and pinning your arms on either side of your head.
Remus pulled down his pants, lining the tip of his cock up with your entrance.
“Gotta remind you who you belong to, hm?” Remus said, slowly pushing the head of his cock into you.
He quickly pulled it back out, teasing your entrance as Sirius held your wrists down, watching you squirm and writhe in need and anticipation.
“Actually, I don’t know,” Remus said, continuing to tease you, “seems you might have already forgotten who’s you are.”
You furiously shook your head no, trying to demonstrate that you hadn’t forgotten you were theirs. You were so desperate to feel Remus inside of you, that you would have done anything to get him to fuck you already.
“Tell us you’re ours,” Sirius demanded, his face next to yours as he stood on the opposite side of the bed, still holding your wrists.
“I am, I’m yours-“
“So then you shouldn’t have agreed to date another guy,” James said, cutting you off.
The moment James’s sentence finished, Remus slammed his entire length into you, causing your body to hit forward.
You cried out, and Sirius dropped your wrists, instead opting to cover your mouth with one hand and your neck with the other.
Remus began to snap his hips in and out, not giving you an adjustment period before he began to ruthlessly fuck you. You didn’t dare move the positioning of your arms, keeping them up as you gripped the sheets beside your head.
You tried to moan and whine, but Sirius had a firm grip on your throat and was using the hand over your mouth to press your head deeper and deeper into the mattress.
Tears threatened to spill from the intensity, which was involuntary, but was also Sirius’s favorite thing.
“Aweh, poor baby, you gonna cry?” Sirius mocked.
You couldn’t help the slight hiccups that came as you cried, which only egged Sirius on more. “You don’t wanna be punished anymore, hm? Then maybe you shouldn’t be saying yes to other guys like a filthy fucking whore.”
You tried to nod your head in protest that no, you were not a filthy fucking whore, and you didn’t say yes to other guys, but you could barely move.
Remus was gripping your hips with no remorse, nearly bruising the skin from the pressure. He leaned over you, adding onto Sirius’s words as he whispered in your ear with each thrust, “filthy. Fucking. Whore.”
You were trying to catch your breath from your cries, but you could only take deep breaths through your nose. The boys were amused watching you struggle, and Remus was fucking you hard, consumed with his own pleasure and hellbent on denying you yours.
Your walls began to clench around Remus, and he immediately pulled out, bending over to steady himself. He had denied himself an orgasm in order to prevent yours. Still, he backed away from you, no intent to finish himself off when you were right there.
Sirius let go of your mouth and neck, but only to shift positions with the boys. You took the opportunity to immediately cry, “please, Rem, please, I need it-“
“Sh,” James took over, “I’m sorry, bunny, but this is a punishment, and you know what that means, don’t you?”
You sniffled, “I don’t get to come until all of you do.”
“Good girl,” James said, “stand up for a second for me, yeah?”
You stood, your legs shaking as James laid down on the mattress and patted his lower stomach. You crawled back onto the bed, swinging one leg over his waist to straddle him.
He was already unclothed, and Sirius was the same, appearing behind you as he knelt on the bed between James’s legs.
You looked between the two boys in confusion before your eyes widened in realization.
“Siri, I can’t-“
Sirius could tell you were nervous, so he dropped the intense wall for a brief moment to ask you for your consent.
Despite your tears, you nodded yes, wanting to please them but also aware that you could absolutely handle it.
“Up,” James tapped the side of your thigh, prompting you to raise your hips. He gave himself a few lazy strokes before lining himself up with your entrance. You slowly sank down onto his length, sighing in appreciation at the feeling of being filled again.
When you were all the way down, James pulled your body against his, holding you tightly as he stilled inside of you.
Sirius had already lubricated his cock in preparation, bending down to bite the flesh of your ass before lining his tip up with your other hole.
James held you tightly as Sirius pushed just his tip inside, a long gasp leaving your lips at the sudden intrusion.
You buried your face into the crook of James’s neck as Sirius slowly inserted himself into your ass. If you let out a particularly high squeak, Sirius stilled for a moment, but otherwise he moved as slow as he possibly could until his entire length was inside of you.
James lifted his head off the bed to peek at where your three bodies connected, bridged through you, and you took the opportunity to grab the back of James’s head, desperate for anything other than the mattress to ground yourself on.
You stayed in your position, heavy breathing as you adjusted to both boys, Sirius grabbing your hips and James’s arms remaining wrapped around your torso.
“Tell us when we can move, doll,” Sirius said, his composure faltering.
You gave it a few minutes, allowing the pain to subside as your hole stretched, before telling the boys, “I’m okay.”
James and Sirius exchanged a look, and James smiled wide as he slowly pushed his hips upward, stimulating your cunt. You moaned from the sudden movement, holding James close to you as he loosened his grip around your body, shifting and holding the sides of your torso as he moved, trying his hardest to keep you from bouncing. He was afraid of hurting you due to Sirius, but it was hard to hold back when you were on top of him with two cocks inside of you.
James set a steady pace, not nearly as rough as Remus, but not slow either. After a few minutes of adjusting to James, Sirius tightened his grip on your hips in warning.
You inhaled a sharp breath in anticipation right before Sirius slowly pulled a tiny bit out, pushing back in to test the waters. You nearly collapsed even more onto James’s body, but Sirius’s grip kept your hips tilted upward.
Sirius began to move in and out slowly, cautious of just how far back he pulled out with each stroke. It hurt like hell for a moment before the pain subsided, and all you could feel was pleasure twice over.
“Fuckin’ hell,” James moaned, throwing his head back against the pillows as both he and Sirius worked you up.
They tried to stay in a rhythm, one pushing in while the other pulled out, but quickly became too engrossed in the act to worry about the other one’s pacing.
You were still crying softly, whining and whimpering at a much higher pitch than you usually did.
Sirius smacked your ass, causing you to throw your head back and moan. He took the opportunity to grip your hair, keeping your head in position. At the new angle, James could see your face clearly, and he couldn’t look away.
“Who do you belong to?” Sirius asked.
You nearly choked trying to speak. “You.”
Sirius balled your hair up into a ponytail, signaling James to take over the hold. James grabbed your hair, pulling until your head was turned to look at where Sirius connected his body with yours.
Your holes were so tight around both boys that they both knew they wouldn’t last long.
“Looks so fuckin’ good,” James said, “you like it when Sirius and I fuck you at the same time?”
You only moaned in response, but that wasn’t good enough. Sirius spanked you again, and you looked him dead in his eyes, swallowing your pride and embarrassment and saying, “I love it when you fuck me at the same time.”
Sirius groaned at your words, especially the sight of you speaking them while looking him in the eyes, and he subsequently picked up the pace.
There was a sudden tap on your jaw, and you cocked your head upward to see Remus kneeling in front of you, lazily stroking his cock in front of your face.
“You wanna be a good girl?” he asked you.
You nodded your head yes, and before he could even instruct you to open your mouth, you stuck your tongue out, ready for him.
He gave you a smile in return before he pushed his cock past your lips. You struggled to move your head, your body rocking in all directions from the two boys already inside of you, and Remus noticed instantly.
“Sh, sh, keep your head still, that’s it, good girl,” Remus spoke, gently holding the back of your head as he began to thrust his hips forward into your mouth.
Every few hits, his cock grazed the back of your throat, causing you to gag a moan. The sound and sight drove Sirius over the edge, and his thrusts became harder and sharper.
James didn’t calm down as Sirius became more intense, and Remus didn’t care about either of them.
Sirius hit a final few thrusts before he pulled out of you, spilling his seed onto your ass and hips, watching as it dripped down the curves of your body.
Remus was the second to come, so worked up from earlier that he knew he would be done for within minutes, and he was right. His come shot to the back of your throat, and you swallowed the entire load, sticking your tongue out to show him you had done so.
You dropped your head in a desperate attempt to relax as James continued to thrust up into you. You were fighting with everything you were to keep from coming, and you desperately needed James to release so you could, but he was arguably being the meanest of them all.
Every time he would feel himself approaching his climax, he would force himself to slow down. He was greedy, and now that Remus and Sirius were done, he had you all to himself. He knew you were fucked out, but he also knew you hadn’t come yet, and wanted to savor the journey.
“Jamie, please-“ you cried.
“Tell me you’re mine,” he whispered in your ear.
“I’m yours, I’m all of yours-“
“No no, baby, tell me you’re mine.”
You moved to hold yourself up on either side of James’s head, looking down at him as you spoke softly so that only he could hear, “I’m yours, James, all yours.”
Your words were enough for him.
He came inside of you, his leg muscles spasming as he hit deep within your cervix.
He came down from his high inside of you, pulling out and lifting you upward, his hands on your hips as he shifted you to lay down on the bed.
You rested your back against the sheets, looking at your three boyfriends, nervous and expectant.
“I don’t know, do you think you deserve to come?” Sirius asked.
You furiously nodded your head yes, the aching between your legs growing. You were tired, but you were desperate.
“I just don’t know-“
“Please,” you begged.
“Sirius, c’mon,” James bargained, running his fingers through his hair, “she did great. Just let her come already.”
Sirius looked to Remus, who was way ahead of him.
Remus took his position between your legs, gently spreading them apart as you whimpered.
“Sh, you okay?” he asked.
“Yeah,” you responded, “I’m alright.”
“You ready for me?”
“Please,” you breathed out.
Remus slowly inserted himself into you, your back arching up off the bed from the overstimulation.
For the first time the whole time you’d been getting punished, Remus leaned down and kissed you. You nearly choked on tears from the happiness and relief that came from the feeling of his lips on yours. While you enjoyed the roughness and punishment, it was nice to be grounded back to safety and intimacy.
Remus continued to kiss you as he fucked you, never moving too fast for fear that he may hurt you. You were overstimulated and edged enough that within few minutes, you came hard around Remus, never breaking the kiss as you whined into his mouth.
Remus didn’t pull away as your legs shook rapidly. You rested them flush against the mattress, and Remus slowly pulled out of you, giving you one final kiss before rolling off of you.
You caught your breath, unable and unwilling to move from your position from pure exhaustion.
“Gonna get you cleaned up and then we’ll all relax together, okay?” Sirius cooed, wiping the sweat-soaked hair away from your face.
“Thank you,” you said as he gently maneuvered a washcloth between your legs.
When you were cleaned up, James lifted you off the bed, and Remus pulled the sheets down before James placed you back down, pulling the sheets up over you and shifting into bed next to you. Remus joined you on the other side.
“Fuck you guys, where am I supposed to go?”
You shifted slight forward, and Sirius took the hint, climbing over everyone to seat himself directly behind you. You rested back against his chest, exhaustion consuming your body as you fell into a sleep that meant you would most certainly miss your “date.”

People watching

Sirius Black x Fem!Slytherin!reader
1.3k words
cw: fluff
There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, allowing the sun to warm the grounds of Hogwarts. As if it were written in scripture, students were opting to lounge around outside rather than spend any amount of time inside. You had prepared a few snacks to bring with you while you attempted to study. You made it maybe fifteen minutes before deciding it was too beautiful of a day to be studying, even if you were outside. You wanted to enjoy it fully so now you were eating some of the snacks and people watching.
You are fairly well entertained when you notice some movement near you. There’s a squirrel, twitchy nose and bushy tail, looking at you. Or, more accurately, the sandwich in your hand. The squirrel moves closer to you, approaching with caution. It was clearly ready to sprint away in a split second if it sensed danger. You pick off a bit of crust and toss it to the side of the creature. You didn’t want to hit it. That would give it the wrong impression. You smile as the squirrel quickly grabs the crust and immediately begins to nibble on it. You swear it looks back at you with hopeful eyes. You laugh and toss a piece further away. The squirrel goes to retrieve the new crust, eats it and comes back, the same hopeful look in its eyes. You repeat your actions, tossing the small crumbs of bread greater distances. You can’t help yourself; it’s just like playing fetch with a dog.
From their usual spot near the Black Lake, the Marauders are also enjoying the weather. Unlike you, they didn’t bother to bring homework or snacks. James, Remus and Peter were discussing plans and details for their next prank. Sirius wasn’t listening. He had spotted you when they walked out and he hadn’t been able to look away. He was confused at what you were doing, periodically tossing something and laughing. He was too far away to see the squirrel.
“Oi, Earth to Padfoot!” Peter all but yells, waving his hand in front of Sirius’ face.
“Huh? What?”
“Prongs wants your opinion on dungbombs or enchanted stink pellets.”
“But now I want to know what you find so interesting,” James says, trying to see what he had been looking at.
“Nothing. It’s nothing.”
“It’s Dorcas’ friend,” Remus says, a smile creeping up his face. “The dog person, remember?”
James’ face lights up. “Still intrigued, are you?”
“Shut up.”
“Definitely still intrigued,” Peter confirms. “I’m not sure Padfoot heard most of our conversation.”
“I did so,” Sirius tries to defend. “I was listening.”
“And staring at her,” Remus adds.
“Have you considered, oh, I don’t know, talking to her?” Peter asks. “Or go balls deep and ask her out.”
Sirius rolls his eyes, turning his full attention back to the group.
“There was a moment at the last party. She was leaving and I basically asked her to stay and she didn’t.”
“Maybe parties aren’t her thing,” James offers, trying to be helpful.
“She did leave the other one right after she talked to you,” Remus says.
“Maybe it’s talking to you she doesn’t like. That’d be a first for a girl,” Peter snorts.
“We talk just fine!”
“Maybe you’re draining?”
“Wormtail, not helping,” Remus scolds him.
“I’m again suggesting that maybe she doesn’t like parties. Or maybe it’s the Gryffindor Common Room.”
Sirius looks at James, a small smile forming on his face.
“It could be the common room. She was leaving the party and I convinced her to come to the Astronomy Tower with me. It wasn’t until I tried to get her back into the common room that she actually left.”
Peter laughs, “You took her to the Astronomy Tower? And you didn't snog her? It’s that your spot?”
Sirius rolls his eyes. “It’s a spot. Can’t say I own it.”
“You’ve taken a fair amount of girls up there though,” Remus adds.
“I went up for air.” The boys give him disbelieving looks. “Okay, and I followed her out because I didn’t want her leaving so soon. As you so kindly confirmed, I am still intrigued by her. Happy?”
James crosses his arms and nods. “Yes. Quite.”
Sirius looks back at you and his smile slowly turns down into a tight lipped frown. Some time during his friends’ interrogation, his brother had made himself at home next to you. Even as far away as you are, you’re obviously comfortable and happy in his presence. An unnerving feeling erupts in Sirius’ stomach.
---
“Slug Club is having a cocktail party in a few weeks. Old Sluggy seems adamant that everyone brings a date,” Regulus complains, disgust dripping from the last word.
You chuckle, tossing the squirrel another crumb of food.
“Salazar, Reg, you act like bringing a friend is the end of the world.”
“A friend, no. A date, yes,” he corrects you.
“Same difference. Pretty sure Horace wants to make sure all his favorites are making the connections he wants them to. No one too sketchy and ill-fitting for him.”
Regulus groans and rests his forehead on your shoulder. You ruffle his hair affectionately.
“Does Slug like you?” Regulus mumbles into your arm.
“Enough, I guess. Not skilled enough in Potions or necessarily connected to anyone to earn myself a spot in the club.” You pause. “As you should know.”
“But if I brought you, he’d approve?”
You look down at Regulus. “You’re desperate for his approval?”
He lifts his head up just to nod it vigorously. His eyes are begging you to agree to his unasked invitation. You give him an amused half smile, your eyes twinkling with mischief.
“You’re going to make me actually ask, aren’t you?”
You nod, not looking away.
“Darling, will you go to the Slug Club party with me? If I have to suffer through it, I’d like company I can stand.”
“Oh, Regulus, you sure do know how to make a girl feel special,” you say with feigned sweetness, placing your hand over your heart. Then in your normal tone, “Yes, I’ll go with you. Please tell me I don’t have to dress too fancy, do I?”
“Uh, he didn’t say. I’ll ask.”
You nod and look bad to the squirrel. It’s been inching closer to you and your food. Regulus eyes the creature warily.
“Did you befriend that or something?”
“He’s just a little hungry.” The look of mischief in your eyes brightens. “Do you think I can get him to eat out of my hand? I’ve just been tossing him small bits but now that he’s closer…”
Your voice trails off as you break off a small chunk of bread and place it in the center of your palm. You flatten your hand completely and hold it out in front of you, close to the ground so the squirrel would be able to reach it.
“Ugh, please don’t,” Regulus groans, looking away from what he assumes will be some sort of disaster.
To his surprise, he hears you giggle and tentatively looks back. Your hand is empty. The squirrel is sitting back on its haunches, bread chunk in his tiny hands being nibbled on. You slowly lean forward and run a gentle finger down the animal’s back. It doesn’t seem to mind, but Regulus is fairly certain it’s because the squirrel is too preoccupied with the food you had provided it.
“One of these days you’re going to get bitten,” he warns, making you laugh.
“From my experience and from what I've heard, I’m more likely to get a bite from a classmate.”
Regulus’ eyes go wide. “Who is going to bite you?”
“Junior fully threatened to before he got together with Evan.”
Regulus makes a face and then you both start laughing.
“I don’t think that will stop him if he decides he wants to. Evan might bite you too.”
“And maybe a hungry Gryffindor if I get between them and breakfast?”
Regulus rolls his eyes. “As long as it’s not my brother. You might get rabies.”
“Are we sure that Junior doesn’t have that?”
“No.”
You start laughing harder than before. Somehow during your entire time outside, you never looked in Sirius’ direction and never saw him watching you.

(sorry this is so long)
Hi sweetheart, thank you so much! (Is your username a Lizzy McAlpine reference? I love that) I'm really sorry you went through this, I've been fortunate enough to have never hit an animal but I've seen it happen and it's so horrible, I'm really sorry you've been dealing with this :(( I think you did the right thing by leaving your number with it, and I hope the weight of that trauma and grief is starting to lift off you my love. Thank you for requesting <3
cw: mention of killing an animal, reader feeling guilty
poly!marauders x fem!reader ♡ 1.8k words
James hears the door and is up instantly, bounding down the hall to greet you and Sirius.
“Hello!” he calls ahead, eager for company after being left alone in your flat for over a half hour. “You guys took your time today, I thought even Remus might beat you home. Was traffic a riot, or…”
Sirius is looking at him with panic in his blue-gray eyes, clearly trying to convey one of those telepathic messages James has never been great at interpreting, and you…you’re looking at nothing. Your gaze is distant as you work off your shoe, the area around your eyes puffy and gray with smudged mascara.
“Hey,” James breathes, then feels stupid. It sounds like he’s accusing you of something. He tries again. “Is everything okay?”
Sirius gives him a look that says What do you think? and crouches beside you to help with a stubborn knot in your shoelace. Your hands are trembling, James notices. Dread settles like a stone in his stomach.
“I’ve got it,” Sirius murmurs to you, fingers gentle as they intercept your own, but the alarm doesn’t leave his expression as he watches your face. Ah. As much as it kills James to see you upset, Sirius will have no idea what to do with you in this state. Tears have always set him on edge.
James squats, joining the two of you on the floor. “Hi, sweetheart.” He does his best to keep his own anxiety out of his voice as his hand finds your ankle, fingers wrapping around the bit of skin between the hem of your jeans and your socks. “Has something happened?”
Your eyes meet his already full of tears, and James braces himself. Sirius does too, by the look of it, his shoulders tensing as he watches your face like you’re about to crumble away to nothing right here on their doormat.
“I—” That’s all you get out before you have to bite down on your lip to keep from crying. A tiny whimper escapes, and spider web cracks spread across James’ heart. A sluggish tear leaks from your right eye.
“It’s okay,” he swears, though he has no way of knowing it. You press the back of your hand to your mouth, trying to quell the sobs that shake your frame even with no air to feed them. “Oh, honey.” James leans forward, wrapping you in an awkward but very heartfelt hug, your knees between his chest and yours but your head crossing the distance to wet his shoulder with your tears.
A sympathetic pressure builds in James’ sinuses, but he does his best to breathe through it. Stability tends to help you more than sympathy in these situations, and since Remus isn’t home yet, it’s left to James to be the reasonable one (Sirius would have all sorts of jokes to make about that, but he doesn’t seem to be feeling up to them either).
He gives you a few moments of reprieve, a few passes of his palm up and down your spine, before trying again. “What’s going on?” he asks, gently as he can. “You guys are scaring me. Sirius?”
Sirius’ brow pinches like he almost doesn’t want to say it either, and the anticipation in James’ chest heavies. “We were driving home,” he says slowly, keeping a wary eye on you lest he worsen your upset, “and a rabbit ran in front of the car.”
Relief nearly chokes James at the same time as a sympathetic sorrow takes ahold of him. He pets the back of your head. You tremble with the force of your crying, leaning into his touch greedily.
“She was driving?” he asks quietly, though he’s nearly sure. If your reaction isn’t enough to go off of, he already knows that you usually pick Sirius up from work and drive the both of you home.
Sirius nods.
“It doesn’t sound like there was anything you could do,” he murmurs to you, cupping the back of your neck to encourage you to look up at him. You do, sniffling as your lip quivers, and James uses his thumb to brush a wet streak of mascara from your blotchy cheek.
“It must have been so scared.” Your voice breaks on the last word and James’ heart along with it, leaving a throbbing wound in the center of his chest.
“I doubt it had time to be scared, honey,” he tries to reassure you, but his own voice is fraught. He looks to Sirius. “Did you…do you know if it…passed?”
Sirius is half hiding behind his hair, a sure tell of his disquiet, and it brushes his shirt collar when he nods again. “We weren’t sure at first, so I got out to move it off the road. It was dead.” He winces at his wording, and you bite down on your lip harshly. His tone softens as he addresses you. “I really don’t think it felt any pain.”
You look nowhere near ready to believe him, and James is preparing to offer to make you a cup of tea and let you sort out your grief at your own pace when the front door opens again, stopping when it hits Sirius’ side.
“Oh.” Remus pokes his head through. “Hello. Why are we all sitting on the floor?”
Sirius scoots the rest of the way out of the door’s path before deciding to stand instead. He speaks to Remus in a low voice while James runs a hand up and down your side in an attempt to soothe you. He locks eyes with Remus over your shoulder, watching as the taller boy’s gaze takes on the weight of understanding.
“Oh, I’m so sorry.” Remus wraps Sirius in a half-hug, kissing his surprised boyfriend on the temple before stooping beside you. “That must have been awful to have to see. Let’s get you up, yeah?” He wraps a spindly hand around your forearm, more encouragement than anything, and James grips your other hand as he stands to pull you up with him.
Neither of them seem quite willing to break contact with you, walking you over to the couch like a newborn fawn despite your murmured I’m okay. Sirius follows close behind. The both of you look like you’re perching rather than sitting, unable to completely relax even now that you’re home.
“It must have been quite a scare,” Remus sympathizes, sitting on the edge of his favored armchair.
“A bit,” Sirius mutters, and your throat bobs.
Remus cocks his head. “What’re you thinking, darling?”
James almost wants to look away at the rawness in your expression as you raise your eyes to meet Remus’. “I just…I can’t believe I killed it. I’ve never” —your voice pitches, and you swallow again— “I’ve never killed anything before.”
“It was an accident,” James tells you, beseeching.
“You couldn’t have stopped,” Sirius says. His voice has an odd, desperate quality to it, and James sees Remus notice it at the same time as he does, both boys leaning forward to see Sirius better. For the first time, James notices—had he missed it before, or has it only just started?—that Sirius is trembling slightly too. James’ free hand twitches instinctively toward him, but his dark-haired boyfriend is only touchy when he’s in a good mood. He’s not keen on physical comfort; no matter how many years James has worked on him, Sirius has always preferred to keep his struggles internal. “Or avoided it,” he goes on. “It happened too fast.”
Remus nods at you. “As awful as it is, these things happen sometimes. Hopefully,” he adds when another tear slips down your cheek, “never again to you, but selfish as it is, I’m glad you didn’t slam on the brakes or anything else that could have gotten you and Sirius hurt instead.”
You glance at Sirius, and he gives you a weak smile, taking your hand and squeezing gently.
“Nothing you could have done,” he whispers.
Your lips tremble again. James watches as panic flashes in Sirius’ eyes, but he keeps it together. “I’m really sorry,” you tell him, voice wavering. “I shouldn’t have made you take care of the bunny by yourself.”
James' chest aches as Sirius takes a steadying breath. “You were frazzled. Understandably upset,” he corrects himself, squeezing your hand again. This time you squeeze back. “It was a one-man job anyway.”
You make a soft sound, leaning your head on his shoulder, and James has the sense something has settled a bit in each of you. He raises your joined hands to his lips, kissing the back of yours as Remus’ eyebrows furrow.
“Have you had a chance to wash your hands, love?” he asks Sirius, who blinks.
“No. I forgot.”
Despite the heavy atmosphere, James actually feels the beginnings of a smile tempting his lips as he watches Remus forcibly quell his horror. “Right, then. Why don’t we go do that in the kitchen now, and I’ll make us all some tea.”
“Good idea,” James says heartily, swiping his thumb back and forth over his own kiss on your hand. “Hey, could we take out the good cookies as well?”
Remus hums what James chooses to interpret as assent, shepherding Sirius into the kitchen.
“I’m sorry,” you say to James once the other two are out of hearing.
He looks down at you. “What for, sweetheart?”
You shrug, your shoulders remaining just a tad too high after the motion. You’ve stopped crying, and James is grateful, but he doesn’t think this shameful look is a vast improvement. “I feel like I’m being dramatic. And Sirius is the one who had to see it. He had to drive home too, I was too upset.”
James’ battered, broken heart wells for the both of you. He forgoes his attentions to your hand, wrapping his arm around your shoulders instead to tuck you against his side. “You’re not being dramatic,” he promises, “okay? You and Sirius were in the wrong place at the wrong time, and you both had to witness something awful.” Your head sinks onto his shoulder, and he rubs your upper arm. “I think it’s alright to be sad for a while. For yourselves, and for the bunny. Just, don’t torment yourself, alright?” He withdraws enough to see your face, and you tilt your gaze up to his. “Please. You don’t deserve the guilt.”
Your eyes cast down, contemplative and a bit shy, a moment before your head comes back to its spot on his shoulder. “Thanks,” you murmur.
“No thanks necessary, babe. You can cry all night if you need to, I’ll be right here. Just do me a favor,” he lowers his voice, glancing toward the kitchen, “let me sit between you and Sirius if you do. Many more tears and I think he’ll have a heart attack.”

firsts *ੈ✩‧₊˚
pairing: sirius black x reader
warnings: mild swearing
if you'd like a part 2 let me know :)
*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚*ੈ✩‧₊˚
✰ the first time sirius sees you is actually in the train, first year
✰ you’re sitting by yourself with your knees drawn up to your chest, staring out the window, and he thinks for a second that you look a bit sad
✰ he is about to walk over and say something when his newfound friend, james, tosses a chocolate frog at his head and misses
✰ the frog lands in your hair
✰ he babbles apologies as he tries awkwardly to separate the sticky strands, an endeavor which ends when you calmly hex him, get up, and close the car door in his face
✰ it takes you two hours to get the sugar out of your hair and you’re nearly late for the sorting ceremony, which does not improve your mood- or your animosity towards young black
✰ the first time sirius talks with you is at the beginning of potions class
✰ you had chosen a seat at the far corner of the room, wanting to be as far away as possible from james and his crowd
✰ sirius saunters in five minutes late, which earns him a scolding and five points deducted from gryffindor
✰ he doesn’t seem to care, scanning the room before settling on the empty seat next to you and plopping down on the bench
✰ “so what are we doing today?”
✰ “shut the hell up,” you hiss, trying to follow along in your book and feeling sheer rage at the situation starting to boil beneath your collarbones
✰ you miraculously make it through the whole class without a) murdering each other or b) blowing up the desk you’re at, which last is mostly due to your hard work at ignoring sirius’ nonsense
✰ (which is mostly tossing spitballs of increasing size in james’ direction)
✰ at the end of class, he grins at you, those bright gray eyes entirely unaware of how freaking pissed you are at him
✰ “so, same time same place tomorrow?”
✰ the silent hex hits him a second later
✰ at this rate, you’re going to be a fucking pro at that hex by the time the year is over
✰ the first time sirius sees you, like really sees you, is towards the end of first year
✰ it’s a pity that it’s when you have him pinned against a wall and your wand at his throat
✰ april fool’s day has come and gone, but that hasn’t stopped the marauders from charming every classroom door to (liberally) splash water on anyone going in or out
✰ which is why your hair, robes, and bag are currently dripping with water that’s puddling at the soles of your shoes
✰ you grit your teeth, shoving sirius harder into the side of the corridor
✰ “have you got anything to say, black?”
✰ a cocky retort is on his lips, but when he looks into your eyes, it dies and falls back
✰ your eyes are narrowed in annoyance, yes, but- he can see how bright they are, the play of light and shadow
✰ and is it just him or is the late afternoon sun making your hair look especially shining?
✰ and is just him or is the grip you have on his collar and the way your teeth are clenched kind of…hot?
✰ he straightens himself, freeing himself from your grasp, and turns around so you’re pressed to the wall in the blink of an eye
✰ sirius grins right into your face
✰ “yeah, fancy a date?”
✰ you smack his arm, duck so he topples towards the wall, and stick out one foot
✰ he trips directly into the potions classroom door, a splash following a moment later
✰ you stand there, haloed in the light, as you glare at him
✰ “when pigs fly, you ass”
✰ a turn on your heel and you’re down the hall and gone
✰ leaving sirius blinking after you, an expression on his face that can only be described as starstruck

Whumptober 2024 - Day 6 - Prompt: Not Realizing They're Injured / "It's not my blood."
Rated: T | Words: 729
CW: Blood (in case the prompt didn't give it away)...nothing too graphic, but just wanted to mention it!
Tumblr media
Hunter is thrown when another explosion detonates, hitting a wall with enough force it drives the breath from his lungs, leaving him gasping through his respirator. Debris clatters like hail against his plastoid armor. He isn’t surprised everything hurts, head ringing from the impact, but he pushes himself up even before the reverberation of the blast settles, the ground trembling under his boots as he stumbles forward to the first citizen he sees.
The woman is leaning forward, gripping her ankle with both hands, voice sobbing in a language Hunter doesn’t understand. He kneels down in front of her. “We’ll get you out of here,” he tells her.
The woman’s wild eyed gaze traverses Hunter’s dirty armor, and she shakes her head, continuing to speak frantically in her native tongue. He doesn’t have time for arguing, the transport will be back soon for survivors, and she is only one of many. He scoops her up in his arms in a bridal cary, careful to avoid jostling her injured ankle. She pushes against his breastplate, continuing to speak the same words over and over again.
“I don’t understand,” Hunter tells her. His head is still ringing, dull pounding pain throbbing throughout his skull. Distantly, he wonders if he has a concussion.
The woman points to her own abdomen, and Hunter looks down. Blood blooms across her torn blouse. How did he not see that before? He nods at her, trying to communicate that he understands that she is injured. The rendezvous isn’t far, and Hunter moves as fast as he dares. Tech is there, tending the wounded as they arrive. He will know what to do.
Tech meets him when he arrives. “What are her injuries?” he asks, motioning for Hunter to lay the woman down by a tree where several other civilians are already situated.
“Abdomen wound, seems like it’s bleeding heavily,” Hunter tells him. “But she was holding her ankle when I found her. I don’t think she can walk on her own.”
Tech nods, already reaching for a fresh roll of gauze from his med pack.
Hunter draws back from the woman, moving to stand again when she catches his arm in both hands. She speaks frantically, this time looking at Tech.
Tech looks at Hunter, his eyes wide behind his goggles.
“What is she saying?” Hunter asks.
“She says that it isn’t her blood,” Tech says, tone too even to be truly calm. “It is yours.”
“I’m not…” Hunter begins, but Tech points to Hunter’s own midsection. Hunter looks down and sees it. Shrapnel, dark and ominous, protrudes from his armor. He didn’t even notice, felt nothing but the pain in his head, the ache in his muscles. But now, his skin feels like fire and the warmth of blood pooling under his armor, soaking into his blacks. His head goes light, vision spotting with dark splotches under his visor.
He closes his eyes for a moment, trying to clear his vision, but when he opens them again, he is on the Marauder, the sound of Wrecker snoring in the bunk above him, the dim lighting of night cycle glowing around him.
“Thanks for your help with the evacuation,” Crosshair says from the crash sheet, “Couldn’t have done it without you. Oh, wait, we did.”
“Please don’t antagonize the wounded,” Tech chides, and he appears in Hunter’s eyeline, hovering over him. “How do you feel?”
Hunter groans. “Not great.”
“To be expected,” Tech agrees. “Alami said that she tried to warn you before you picked her up.”
“A language barrier is no excuse,” Crosshair admonishes.
“It is actually a quite reasonable excuse,” Tech tells him guilelessly. A pause. “You were being sardonic.”
Crosshair chuckles.
Hunter suppresses the urge to roll his eyes. He knows it will only aggravate his lingering headache.
“The mission was a success?” he asks.
Tech hums, checking the bandages wrapped around Hunter’s midsection. “Of course it was. It turned out Alami is the village’s doctor. She was able to take over my duties, and I was able to assist with yours. If you had to rescue one last individual before becoming incapacitated, you chose the right one.”
Hunter sighs, exhaustion tugging at his consciousness enticingly. He wants to ask more, to hear everything that happened…but he knows his brothers will tell him everything he wants to know when he wakes again.

IMO Severus would also have got a great deal less grief from the Marauders if he’d not had the temerity to want to escape his working class origins. They’d have still laughed at him for being an oik but James wouldn’t have been half as violent had he been deferential and known his place. But he refused to take their abuse lying down, was confident in his superior academic abilities, and harboured hopes of a nice pretty upwardly mobile girl like Lily coming to like him back (even though I think his general self-loathing would’ve always stopped him from asking her out). It was someone like Snape working to climb the ladder on nothing but his merits that was the fundamental wound to James’ ego. It’s basically the exact same lashing out we see from Sirius in OOTP when he can’t cope with seeing Snape as Dumbledore’s right hand man.
Well, I don't know if those would be the reasons, but it’s clear that Severus wasn’t an “easy” victim; he was someone who tried to defend himself, someone who fought back, someone who stood up and did what he could to survive. That was something they couldn’t handle. They were probably used to nobody talking back to them, to those boys and girls they hexed in the hallways staying silent or lowering their heads to avoid them. Severus didn’t do that.
In the end, he was a neighborhood kid who grew up in a crappy area with a crappy father and barely any food. No matter how marginalized he was, it wasn’t in his nature to be easy prey because he didn’t come from an easy environment. I guess that pissed them off, while at the same time, they used it as justification to keep targeting him.
It’s also something Marauders stans use to justify the abuse: that Severus fought back. But not being an easy or compliant victim doesn’t mean you’re not a victim. Stabbing the guy who tried to assault you doesn’t mean you’re any less of a victim, just like punching the partner who hits or abuses you doesn’t make the abuse any less real. It simply means you don’t fit the archetype of a passive, defenseless victim, but defensive victims exist too.

For some time, what I liked the most about Lily (and the basis for my characterization of her) was that she had ended her friendship with Snape. Not in a vindictive, I-Hate-Him-And-He-Deserves-The-Worst type of way, but in a "I'm so glad she realized their friendship had became toxic at that point and she made the right choice for herself and cut him off". I really admired her capacity to stand up for herself, you know?
What do you think about their friendship?
I’m really interested in Lily’s friendship with Snape. I get that he was the first peer who (unlike her sister) accepted her as a witch and despite it. He explained what Hogwarts would be like and made her feel excited and less nervous about going. He was clearly very taken with her (as a friend initially anyway), and reassured her (massive lie) that being a muggleborn wouldn’t matter.
But…
The thing is, we know that at the very start of his friendship with Lily:
He was mean to Petunia, and purposely dropped a branch on top of her
He knew more dark magic going into Hogwarts than most 7th years (source: Sirius Black)
He got sorted into slytherin and we know by the end of 5th year he was:
Friends with wannabe Death Eaters
Friends with Lucius Malfoy (that’s from a younger age as he was older and left school years beforehand)
Making up very vicious/dangerous dark magic spells like sectumsempra and using it on “enemies”
Making up other less vicious but still not pleasant spells like Levicorpus
Hanging out with bigoted wankers who called muggleborn students slurs and he was also doing this too (except not to Lily)
Hanging out with Death Eater wannabes who attacked Mary McDonald and calling the attack with dark magic a bit of a joke
Trying to out Remus Lupin for being a werewolf
In what universe did it take Lily (who we know was clever, cheeky, popular, stood up to other popular people like the marauders) so long to figure out her friend was a supremacist arsehole who she needs to ditch goodo, in fact, yesterday???
How do we understand this serious lapse in judgement/blind spot when it came to Snape?
I have some ideas…
What if Lily is really loyal to her friends to the same degree as James? Imagine someone trying to warn James that one of his best friends was a bad guy - he wouldn’t believe it (eh, wait, that’s exactly what happened, it was clear SOMEONE was the spy and it being a friend of his wasn’t a runner!!) - she regards it as the height of dishonour to mistrust her friends. Presumably Snape keeps some of his least savoury elements hidden from her (although by the time of SWM in 5th year she is aware of eg his calling people mudbloods etc) and she refuses to believe he’s gotten THAT bad.
She has a soft spot for the underdog. Snape is a kind of underdog - very obviously poor and halfblood in slytherin, a bit of an easy target for bullies, not good looking, grumpy, a bit painful personality wise etc. She stands up for him immediately as soon as James and Snape go after him. And she immediately stands up for Remus when Snape tries to say he’s a werewolf etc. Of course, James Rich Boy Mollycoddled Doted-On Quidditch-Star Clever Clogs Top of His Class Fleamont Pooter is the literal polar opposite of an underdog (you’re fucked, Potter)
We are told she’s kind, it’s a defining feature of her personality - so probably she makes excuses for him - hang on, she says it herself, she makes excuses and stands up for him and defends him to her other friends despite the shit-ton of evidence that this guy is bad news for too long… until she can’t
When SWM happens, she’s confronted with the ugly truth that her friendship with Snape is beyond redemption. It’s very hard to admit that and let go of a relationship- platonic or romantic - that you’ve invested in for years. HE WAS HER BEST FRIEND- that’s like James realising Sirius is a Voldy supporter and ditching him. Just because we in this fandom hate Snape doesn’t mean she did.
And Lily does that. When it finally hits her (late, in my opinion, because of the above reasons), she makes the right choice for herself and cuts him out. She doesn’t give into him when he refuses to go away and tries to get her to still be friends with her outside Gryffindor Tower. She sticks to her (right) decision and I applaud her for that difficult but really sensible, insightful decision. I think that’s proof that Lily is not a walk-over. It takes her ages to realise who Snape has become but when she gets it, she acts. And I love her for it. She did the right thing for herself I completely agree 🥺♥️

Trippin' On Hallucinogenics - Chapter 8
Note: We're nearing the end of Year 1! There will be short hiatus after next chapter as I get everything set up for the rest of the fic! (and I mean SHORT hiatus)
Barty made it a habit of going to the Slytherin common room after dark, it wasn’t hard to sneak over there once he had learned the routes that all the teachers take. He only tripped once, falling across the floor gracefully, and making a loud thumping noise before scrambling up and running the rest of the way.
“You’re ridiculous,” Evan said when Barty told him the tale.
“You love me,” Barty replied.
Pranks had been happening all year, thanks to “the Marauders”, but Barty had never been the victim of one, he managed to accidentally avoid the one they pulled on the Ravenclaws by falling asleep in the Slytherins house instead of his own. The Ravenclaws all woke up to feathers for hair, Pandora laughed and wore it in stride, even waving and thanking Remus and Sirius.
“Pandora!” Lily Evans greeted, waving at her, “Hey!”
Barty and Lily’s relationship hadn’t grown since that first encounter, however, Lily’s relationship with Pandora had seemed to grow.
Mostly everyone was fond of Pandora, despite her being a Rosier, something Barty attributed to Pandora being Pandora. Sirius tried to avoid her because she hung out with Regulus.
Barty stood patiently to the side while Pandora talked to the muggle born, chatting animatedly about the different kinds of unicorns there were. Barty was unaware there were multiple kinds. Xenophilius stood behind Pandora, he had taken to following her around like a lost dog after Christmas. Barty glared at him and he quickly retreated to the Ravenclaw table.
Eventually, Pandora finished with Lily and waved to the Gryffindors before walking over to the Slytherin table. Barty groaned, his stomach agreeing with him, but followed her.
“Evan,” Pandora said to her brother, he glanced at her in acknowledgement, “We are getting a letter from father today.” “Fantastic,” Evan grumbled.
Barty cocked his head, this was the first time that he had seen or heard Pandora or Evan acknowledge that their parents existed beyond going home.
They hadn’t gotten any letters from their parents, Barty realized, his eyes widening slightly, and he hadn’t seen Pandora send a letter at all.
“Barty?” Pandora asked, clapping a hand in front of his face. He blinked out of his stupor.
“What?”
“I asked if you had gotten word from your mother recently, about us being able to hang out over the summer,” Pandora said.
Barty had gotten a letter from his mother… and father, it was a definite no. “You may not hang out with those bastard children” was the exact words of the letter, something his father had added no doubt. Barty told Pandora as much, and she pouted.
“Poop,” she said at the same time Evan finally looked over at the two of them.
“So sneak out.”
“What?” Barty asked, terrified at the thought of it.
“Sneak out, you’re always going on about how you want to fight against your father, so do it. We’ll meet you halfway.”
Barty pictured his father catching him and standing over him with his wand, he pictured falling to the ground, locked together, but this time his head hits something and he slowly bleeds out while his father stands over him, laughing.
“I—I can’t.”
“Your loss,” Evan said with a shrug.
My loss.
Regulus finally took notice of them, “Go sit down.”
Pandora and Barty obeyed, but not before Pandora gave Regulus a hug, Regulus hugged her back tightly.
***
“Regulus,” Sirius started. Barty and Evan got in front of their friend quickly.
“Leave him alone, muggle lover” Evan snapped. Sirius glared at Evan.
“I’m just trying to talk to my brother.”
“He doesn’t want to.”
They were trying to leave the Quidditch pitch after watching the Hufflepuff team practice when they were ambushed by Sirius, and an uncertain Remus. The taller boy was playing with his hair, with his other hand in his pocket, looking ready to jump them if they messed with Sirius.
Regulus was frozen behind Barty and Evan.
“He doesn’t want to talk to you,” Barty repeated, “So leave us alone.”
“Regulus—”
Pandora wasn’t there because she had managed to escape and study alone in the library, but Barty had been dragged along.
“You’re just going to let them talk for you,” Sirius demanded, “Please, Reg, I just want to talk.”
“There’s nothing to talk about,” Regulus found his voice.
“There’s so much,” Sirius protested. He started to walk forward—
“Flipendo!” Barty shouted. Sirius was forced backwards. Remus caught him and pulled his wand out of his pocket.
“You little—” Sirius snarled.
“Expelliarmus!” Remus cast Barty's wand, slipped out of his hand and flew to him. Remus caught it and twirled it in his hand like it was a sword. Evan took out his own wand, but Remus was quicker, “Expelliarmus!”
Barty watched Remus’s wand movements, Evan watched his wand fly out of his hand. Evan stared at his empty hand before jumping on Sirius.
Sirius grunted and started punching Evan back, he hit Evan in the eye. Evan kicked him in the stomach. Remus leapt in to try and grab Evan and pulled him off of Sirius, but it seemed like he was fighting just as much as Evan and Sirius were.
“BARTY,” Evan snapped. Barty ran into the action and did his best. He’d never been in a fight. He punched Remus in the stomach, weakly.
Remus kicked him in the privates, Barty just managed to twist so that his foot connected with Barty’s stomach. Sirius grabbed hold of Barty, Evan tackled Sirius. The three of them went sprawling, with Remus helping Sirius up immediately.
“SIRIUS AND REMUS,” McGonagall's voice carried over the pitch. She was striding over to them, “I don’t know why I expect better of you at this point.”
Barty took a second confused, then realized how this must look to McGonagall. Two second-year Marauders standing over two first years who really hadn’t done that much. Barty put on his best face and slowly got to his feet, his stomach hurt from where Lupin had hit him. Evan had the beginnings of a black eye. They both looked around for Regulus, and he was still standing over them staring at McGonagall.
“Professor—”
“I don’t want to hear it, twenty points from Gryffindor each and two days detention for all of you,” McGonagall sighed and pinched her temples then muttered, “Making me take points from my own house— All of you come with me to Pomfrey.”
“We’re fine, Professor,” Barty said, gesturing to himself and Evan. Really, he didn’t want to go to Pomfrey.
“I will not have students walking around bruised!” McGonagall said with a glance at Lupin, who shrugged.
“Yes, Professor.”
Now, Mr. Black,” McGonagall said, addressing Regulus, “I suggest that you head off to dinner.”
“Yes, Professor,” Regulus said, head down.
Barty, Evan, Sirius, and Remus all walked to Pomfrey like little ducklings behind McGonagall.
“Oh dear,” Pomfrey said, when she saw the dirty boys. They all had reached a stage of embarrassment through the awkward silence in the halls, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen you before.”
“Barty Crouch,” Barty said.
“Well nice to meet you, I’m Madame Pomfrey. These three already know me.”
She smiled at Lupin, who smiled back, but looked very tired.
“What has Evan come in for?” Barty asked, he couldn’t imagine the reason why his friend could have needed to come to the nurse.
“Failed Potions experiment,” Evan said with a shrug, “It blew back in my face.”
Pomfrey sat them all down and started healing them one by one, bringing Lupin’s face back to the scarred, but not bruised, mess it was before. Evan got his eye back, and Barty’s stomach felt less like it was crushed into itself.
“There, good as new,” she said with a flourish of her wand.
“Thank you, Madame,” Barty said, going back to the manners his mother taught him.
“I don’t want to see any of you back in here for a fight,” Madame ordered. They all nodded, “Now you’re free to go to dinner, but Remus may I talk to you for a second?”
Lupin paled, Black looked at him nervously and murmured something to him.
“Yes,” Lupin eventually said, “Don’t wait up for me.”
“I’ll save you some food,” Black said, bumping Lupin’s shoulder with his own. Lupin smiled.
Barty grabbed Evan away and took them over to the Great Hall.
“What happened?” Pandora asked when Barty sat down.
“Got into a fight,” Barty said with a shrug, he glanced over at Evan who was whispering something to Regulus.
“With who?” Emmeline asked, speaking up from her usual spot beside Pandora.
“No one important,” Barty said dismissively.
“Are we ready for finals?” Pandora asked.
Barty groaned and leaned back on the bench.
“Kill me now.”

“Y/N? Do you copy?”
Hunter’s voice cracked over the comms piece you had inside your ear but it sounded like it was further away.
Much further away.
You shook your head.
Once,
Twice,
A third time but your vision was still blurred.
You suck in a breath but it brings no relief, only stings the inside of your lungs.
“Y/N!” You felt Wrecker’s huge arms engulf around you as he lifted you effortlessly from the ground you hadn’t realised you were sprawled over.
Everything seemed slow motion, the sounds, the sights surrounding you, the touch Wrecker had on you as he held you tightly to his chest.
It was like your brain was lagging.
You’re not sure how long it took him to carry you to the ship.
“Tech, she’s been hit” you heard the muffled voice of Wrecker’s, sounding worried as he spoke with the other Bad Batch member on board of the Marauder.
He placed you on the bed cot inside the sleeping quarters with a thud, you winced as the metal frame cooled your now burning body, despite you still wearing your armour.
“What’s wrong with her?!” Hunter and Crosshair are now by your bed side whilst Echo stays inside the cock pit.
You can feel the souring of the space shuttle as he pulls away from the greenery scenes of this planet and into the dark atmosphere of space.
“I’m not sure” Tech answers his team leader.
They must of all looked at Tech with the same concerned look on their faces as he quickly tries to explain his confusion.
“Well what I mean is, there are no impact signs, no damage to her armour…anywhere” he sighs as his data pad scans your entire body.
“She’s obviously been hit with something” Crosshair scowls as you arch your back in discomfort once more.
“Maybe your data pad isn’t working properly?” Hunter says to Tech but keeps his eyes on you.
He doesn’t need much straining of his enhanced senses to know that your heart rate has increased alarmingly and your temperature is rising by the minute.
“Take her lid off” Crosshair tells Wrecker but your hands fly up to grab your helmet before he does.
“No…” you managed to splutter out.
“Y/N…what’s going on? What’s happening?” Hunter’s voice is laced with concern.
“Argh…” you cry out as you try to communicate to the others, you need to tell them what you’ve inhaled, what’s pumping through your blood system but the symptoms you are experiencing feel excruciating now.
Your skin feels like it’s on fire, your heart is almost thumping out of your chest and you can feel the sweat starting to form across your skin.
You’d love nothing more than to rip this armour off right now but you can’t expose the others.
You know the pollen may still be inside your helmet.
Which is why you need it to remain closed around your head.
“Tech, talk to her” Hunter looks across at the smartest clone among them but he’s stumped.
The symptom list he has made were scanning the data inside his pad as fast as they can as he tries to work out what it could possibly be.
Everything seems so overwhelming.
You feel your cheeks blush with heat as you glance at the Bad Batch members surrounding you on the bed cot right now.
All have distinguished features that make them so different from each other, from the rest of the clones.
You scan each one of their faces, they all are very attractive in their own way.
You find yourself running your eyes over their bodies, the fine lines and curves of their muscles seem to be protruding in all the right places.
Just wearing their blacks, they have all seem to of shredded most if not all of their armour, keen to get them off as they focus on you, on your injuries but you have none.
You know exactly what has happened.
After seeing the distinctive colouring of the pheromone ivy plants pollen being swatted out of the confines of its petals and straight up into the filter of your helmet.
Before you could even shout out to the others to warn them, you were under attack by its very quick effects, you hadn’t realised you inhaled such a large amount.
Your thoughts come back to the room when you hear Crosshair speak “where was she laid when you got to her Wreck?”
His low rumbly voice sends shivers down your spine as you bite your lip underneath your helmet.
“Er…she was in the field. Yeah, on the grass by the end” Wrecker starts to explain as he watches you squirm once again on top of the bed.
“By the end?…” Tech repeats Wreckers words and taps his fingers in thought off the surface of the bed next to you.
Your eyes shoot to his hand, moving so elegantly as he taps and taps, your eyes start to roll back as his fingers ever so lightly graze the side of your leg.
“Can you give her anything??” Hunter steps towards Tech now, wishing him to come to a conclusion a lot faster than he seems to be going.
“Give her what exactly?” Tech tilts his head to one side in annoyance, sending your heart into a frenzy.
“When I don’t know what could possibly be wrong with her?” He sighs.
“T…Tech” your voice is barely a whisper but the clone hears you.
Leaning closer towards you, you almost have to cross your legs as you ache for some friction down there.
“I…I…Ivy” you breathe out as you feel Hunter’s hand rest on your leg now without him realising.
Your nerves want to cry out at the touch.
Your skin screams for more of it as your brain wishes you to take this damn armour off but you can’t.
“What? Ivy?? What’s Ivy mean??” Hunter looks up at his brothers as they all exchange looks of utter despair.
“Hmmm” you can’t seem to stifle a moan as Wrecker now places each of his large hands on either side of your head.
Causing you to look up at him through your lashes, you’re glad for the helmet to hide your eyes as you’re sure they are pooled black with lust.
Tech’s data pad beeps as it warns him your body temperature is reaching scary heights.
“We’re going to have to take her armour off!” he sternly tells the others whilst pointing out the forever rising number of your temperature.
You can’t talk but manage to shake your head rapidly now as the feelings you’re going through start to ramp up.
“Y/N? Tell us. Tell us why we can’t take this off?” Hunter’s voice is so smooth sounding, you’re wondering if it’s always been that way or you’re just under the effects of this damn Ivy!
“It’s…its, the Ivy…” you rasp out, gripping onto the side of the frame of the bed.
“Ivy?” Crosshair repeats your words, you look over at him, wishing that someone will work out what you’re trying to say.
You don’t notice Tech’s whirlwind of a mind flying into gear.
“Pheromone Ivy?!” he shouts causing all of you to look at him.
You feel relieved he finally guessed but the soothing feeling doesn’t last long as the symptoms of said Ivy plant are still coursing though your body.
“Pheromone Ivy?? What’s tha…oh’”  Wrecker’s brain seems to be the last one to click.
Hunter quickly moves his hand off of your leg as you almost Buck up into him, wanting the touch once more.
“What do we, er…do?” He asks Tech, his own cheeks starting to heat under the knowledge of finding out why your heart is doing flips every time he looks at you.
“Erm…” Tech pulls his gaze away from you as he starts typing in his data pad for the flower and its cure.
“Mmmm” you try your hardest to silence your moans but these feelings are getting worse.
What you don’t realise is that although you’re in such a huge discomfort right now, you’re making the prettiest sounds bounce across the walls of the Marauder, hitting each of the bad batchers eardrums so sweetly.

“Aww, they’re adorable. They have your nose.”
Jango glared at his friend, watching as she cooed happily at the baby clones.
“That’s the point.”
“Hm,” she hummed, leaning back against the glass and facing Jango. “I’m getting attached, aren’t I?”
“No, not at all. You are attached, you were getting attached a week ago when you started planning out their training and added ethics lessons.”
“Good soldiers need good morals.”
“Good morals make them individuals, they aren’t supposed to be people.”
“I know, and having good morals doesn’t change that. It’ll be fine, as long as they don’t start developing personalities we won’t have a problem. Even droids can make choices between right and wrong, right?”
---
Rex couldn’t find a name. Nearly five hours into scrolling through the files from Kamino and there was not a single mention of the woman’s name. That wasn’t to say his search was a complete failure, because he has learned a lot about her.
She was a bounty hunter and a friend of Jango Fett’s, in one of the few reports he wrote, he referred to her as “the clone’s mother”. And it very much seemed like she was. Before the Jedi council had found out about the clone army, she’d been the one in charge of combat and strategy training. All mentions of her leave out a name, most likely for security reasons, but all mentions stop after the Jedi council got involved.
Rex sighed and buried his face in his hands.
“Oh,” Omega popped over his shoulder, “having trouble with official documents?”
Rex yelled and jumped, nearly hitting Omega in the face.
“Wow, sorry. I’m not used to being able to sneak up on people, clone force 99 can always tell I’m coming.”
“No it’s-” he yawned, “it’s fine.”
“So, have you tried looking at unofficial documents? Things are usually less restricted on those.”
“I don’t even know what I’m looking for,” he sighed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. “When did you even get here?”
“Just now, Hunter said I could hang out with you while they went to help one of the other squad camps.”
“ Do you… do you want some tea?”
“Sure, I’ve never had tea. The only thing the bad batch has on board the Marauder is caf, and Echo won’t let me have any.”
Rex nodded and got up to start more water. As soon as he stood up, Omega slid into his seat and picked up his holopad to flip through the files.
“So, kid” she perked up, “why are you staying here?”
She frowned and tilted her head, Rex turned around and leaned back against his small counter.
“What do you mean?”
“Well, all the other young clones went off to new families, why didn’t you?”
“Because you’re my family, my brothers, and I want to stay with you.”
Rex nodded and turned back to the water.
Omega turned back to the holopad while Rex grabbed a tea bag and mug for Omega.
“This sounds li-”
“Do you want-”
“Sorry,” they both said at the same time, laughing awkwardly.
“Do you want anything in your tea?”
“Mh, what normally goes in tea?”
“General Kenobi normally puts sugar in his, some people put cream but we don’t have any of that.”
“Can I try it without sugar first?”
“Sure. Now what were you trying to say?”
“Well, these reports don’t mention a name, but it sounds like they’re talking about Ms. Alana.” Rex’s brows furrowed and he tilted his head, stirring a tea bag around Omega’s cup. “Ms. Alana was a bounty hunter, but you already knew that.” She looked back down at the holopad. “Nala Se says she treated the clones like real people, she always said it like it was a bad thing, AZ said that originally the clones weren’t supposed to be “real people”,” she said, making air quotes, “when they started developing personalities she got defensive over them and the only reason she wasn’t removed from the project was because Jango insisted she had to stay.”
“The files call her the mother of clones.”
Rex handed her the mug.
“Because she treated them like her children. You’re a first gen, so maybe you remember her a bit?”
He paused, leaning against the counter and staring down at the holopad.
“Mh,” Omega made a sour face, “can I have some sugar please?”

ABSOLUTELY!!!
This got me thinking so like a lot of headcannons under cut
Most of their more public pranks are attributed to the Marauders until Mc. Gonoggle steps in and is like “Pardon? My children don’t do THAT.” And so everyone thinks there’s this strange group going around and pulling things so discretely (which is the truth) but others still think it’s either the Marauders or Peeves.
The Maraurders find out when Sirius and Reggie reconcile and they become partners in crime IMMEDIATELY, but as it turns out most of the Skittles’ pranks are COMPLETE accidents so the Marauders take them under their wing to train them in the ways of intentional chaos.
This proves very detrimental to people trying to figure out who did what because the pranks get more and more elaborate while also more carefully planed and it’s just beautifully disastrous.
It also becomes a mix of intentional pranks with chaotic accidents (like the time they accidentally started the ghosts of Hogwarts meetings in the dungeons, they’re not sure how that happened either), and like an accident will lead to a prank and vice versa.
The skittles try and convince the Marauders to do stuff to the shrieking shack at one point, and the Marauders are like “uhhhhhh might not be the best ideaaaa” and the skittles are confused but oblige, and when Remus eventually tells Reg, Regulus also shuts down (typically Evan’s) Shack ideas.
The Skittles end up absolutely RELYING on the map when they get their hands on it and tremendously adding to it, especially in the dungeons and Slytherin common room. The Marauders also hand down the map to them when they leave and the skittles eventually hide it in the Gryffindor wing when they are forced to get their marks because the map won’t talk to them anymore, so they figure it should go back to where it belonged with the Gryffindors, which is where Fred and George find it.
One time Snape tries to join in on their shenanigans and the Marauders are like “Absolutely not” and the Skittles realize quickly that Snape will turn everything they do into either something boring or extremely cruel, Barty was the last one to agree to not include Snape (because he honestly kinda liked the idea of turning the Hufflepuffs food into rats for a week, but Evan, Pandora, and Reg (who have been starved by their family as punishment) were completely not on board so that didn’t happen), though eventually he sees Snape talking shit about Evan being Gay and that doesn’t Fucking fly so Snape is gone right after.
One day when Remus and Evan team up for something, Remus notices Evan and Barty doing something and goes “mmmm, that’s what I did with Sirius before we got together” and he and Evan eventually end up talking (also discovering the chamber of secrets simultaneously but they couldn’t get past the parsletounge door) and Evan confesses about being fully in love with Barty and Remus is like “my man go tell him” and now rosekiller is a thing and Remus is very proud. (About the same thing happens with Sirius and Barty after the same exact interaction)
Also Remus and Even are a surprisingly good team??? Remus’s planning and wit with Evan’s psychotic but brilliant ideas make the best pranks and they NEVER get caught. On the other hand; Sirius and Barty also make an amazing team because Barty is insane and Sirius is fully down and is the best one to get them out of it (Sirius also is Barty’s Moral checker) but they get caught way too much for it to be safe. James and Regulus obviously hit it off but their main job is to make sure everything is happening the way it’s supposed to, even if they get distracted here or there [ ;) ;) ]. Pandora and Peter also match up, but they mainly do the material gathering and set up for the pranks rather than carrying them out, which they seem to enjoy more (it gives them a chance to actually talk about potions and herbology with someone for a while).
All in all they’re a horrifically perfect prank team that pulls LEGENDARY pranks, a lot of which are completely unnoticed or not discovered until 20 years later. (Looking back on it, they’re Pretty sure they found a horcrux at one point and threw it into the Room of Requirement not knowing what it was, they found it while trying to draw the Ravenclaw ghost into the Great Hall which WORKED ACTUALLY)
The skittles did their kept their pranks going in the last year they had without the Marauders, but everyone there could tell there was something different about it from the last two years of pranks. The Skittle’s style reverted back to what it had been their fourth year, mainly accidental and a touch too insane for it to be an actual prank, and they realized that the Marauders had probably been the best thing to happen to their schemes. It was a little bit heartbreaking, to say the least.
Evan was shocked in their 7th year because when in DADA they finally covered dementors, it was a memory of their entire group that he conjured to produce his patronus (which was a hawk). He supposed it was the way they all worked together, the way they helped each other, the way it filled him with adrenaline fueled joy. He never told anyone but Barty, and he only told him after October of 1981.
The Marauders were a shockingly bright spot in the Skittle’s Hogwarts career, and together as a team they likely changed Hogwarts. Whether or not either group would admit it after the Skittles got their marks, they were a wonderful team who could do incredible things if they worked together.
i love the idea that the skittles had their own adventures at hogwarts that were more chaotic than the marauders' but they're lowkey about it. like oh, you guys were the ones who put that giant squid in the lake? cool. barty is currently possessed by a 16th century demon pandora accidentally released. it hasn't done anything yet and he seems fine and we're late to potions so we'll deal with that when he starts levitating while speaking in a dead language.

Hello my dear, congrats on the followers. They are well deserved! And thank you for opening up for some requests.
I’m thinking number 2, “I think I might be in love with you.” with our favorite smarty pants Tech.
So often he’s written as a bit oblivious emotionally and that could be played here. But I do think he’s in touch with his emotions, I love seeing hints of him caring about and for Omega in the season 2 trailers. I think he would show that same care for his partner, maybe they are the oblivious one in the relationship? Just some afternoon Tech Thoughts for you to ponder.
Thank you, mouse <3 I appreciate that!!! Thank YOU for sending in a request!!!
You're absolutely right! I LOVE seeing him so caring and sweet. And we've definitely been blessed this season!!!!
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI; sex mentioned, FLUFF, jealous Tech
WC: 1.3k
Walking the streets of Pantora with the Batch, you lean against Crosshair. The two of you were closer than close lately. What you don’t notice is Tech slightly slouching at the sight of you and his brother looking rather cozy, jealousy tinging his heart in a way he’s not used to. The brother who doesn’t just show emotion… Does Crosshair like you? Or perhaps more? Does Crosshair care for you in the way that he does?
“Oh, a bookstore.” You stop to look in the window at the small cozy bookstore. “Can we go in?”
“I have no desire to look at books.” Crosshair starts to walk away.
“I’ll be in and out.” You start to go in.
“Tech, why don’t you wait with her. This is your kind of store, right?” Hunter smirks. “We’ll meet you back at the Marauder.”
“Um… yes. I can do that. I’ll stay with her.” Tech nods and you smile brightly at him enough to make his heart do somersaults in his chest.
“Thanks, Tech.” You go into the bookstore and don’t notice the wink that Hunter gives Tech.
As you browse the shelves, Tech lingers near, also glancing at the shelves, but mostly admiring the way your eyes light up at the sight of a book that looks interesting to you.
Tech had tried and failed to stuff his feelings for you deep down. Feelings weren’t his forte, right? He based things off of knowledge and factual data. But the moment that you’d walked into their lives, knowledge and factual data didn’t seem to matter anymore.
“I admire your love for books.” Tech gives you a small smile and you look up at him, already holding a small stack of books. “Have you always enjoyed reading?”
You nod. “Ever since I was little. My mother and father used to read to me before bed and I think that’s where my love for books probably stemmed from.”
“That would be the logical conclusion.” He fixes his goggles.
You can’t help the grin. “How much reading do you do for joy?”
“All reading brings me joy, I suppose.” He starts to walk past you to look at the books behind you, brushing against you softly.
You close your eyes at the feeling. You’ve been in love with the man since you’d patched him up after getting hit by a blaster shot that was meant for you.
“I mean, reading that doesn’t require thinking.” You turn toward him.
He picks up a book and turns it over to read the back and then sits it back on the shelf.
“All reading requires thinking, does it not?” He gives a soft smile, but still doesn’t look at you.
You go over to a shelf and pick up a book that definitely has smut in it and then hand it to him.
“I don’t think at all when I read these kinds of books.” You tease.
He opens it and the book immediately starts out by the female protagonist getting intimate with her partner. He looks up at you, warm in the face.
“You read these books?” He asks.
You nod with a shrug. “Sure.”
He closes the book and hands it back to you, unable to get the image of you reading sex scenes out of his head.
“Sorry… if that made you uncomfortable… I don’t know why that was the first book I picked up…” You quickly apologize, feeling terrible, turning to go look at the shelves across the store.
He can hear you cursing yourself about something. But the pressing feeling against his codpiece is blocking out his ability to think clearly.
“Do you need any help?” The store clerk asks you.
You shake your head. “Just looking, thank you. I really like your store.”
“Thank you so much. It’s been in my family for three generations.” The Pantoran man tells you.
Tech wasn’t blind to the attention you got anywhere you went. Your smile and personality alone were infectious and almost anyone you came across was completely taken in by your charm. But still… The jealous feeling still makes itself too known.
“Oh wow! How neat! I’m so glad we were able to stop in.” You smile widely.
“We?” The store clerk looks up in time to see Tech knock over a stand with books on it.
You can’t help the small laugh that escapes as you go over to help him, apologizing to the clerk.
“Happens more than you realize.” The clerk chuckles. “You guys are a good looking couple.”
“Oh we aren’t-” Tech starts but you look at him and his heart nearly stops with his words.
The look on your face isn’t that of disgust, but a soft look of… adoration, maybe? He can’t tell. But the fact that it isn’t disgust is a win, right?
When you get all the books picked up, you go to the front to check out, Tech following closely to you. You pay the clerk and Tech takes the bag for you.
“Thanks.” You smile on your way out.
“You’re welcome.” He nods.
As you walk down the sidewalk, passing all of the other stores, you make your way back to the Marauder.
“I wasn’t uncomfortable with the book you showed me earlier, by the way.” He glances down at you.
“Oh good.” You let out a breath.
He debates whether or not to bring it up now. It was beginning to get more and more difficult to keep these emotions bottled up like he’d been trying to do for the last year.
“I… I found myself wondering… what it’d be like.” He struggles for words for the first time ever.
“The sex?” You ask.
Tech has found that you understand him more than anyone in the Batch. He seldom has to explain himself more than once with you.
He nods. “But… with you.”
You stop in your tracks. “Me?”
Did you just hear that right? He’s not looking at you, though. He’s watching the ground, trying to gather his thoughts.
“While I know it’s not required to have intimate relations with someone, of course… I think that I might be in love with you.” He finally looks at you and you can’t stop smiling.
All this time, you were afraid your feelings would be completely unrequited, you hadn’t entertained the thought that Tech might feel the same way as you.
“I know that Crosshair would be a more suitable choice, of course. I just could not keep these-” He starts but you cut him off with a nervous chuckle.
“Crosshair? What does he have to do with anything?” You ask.
He pushes his goggles up again. “Earlier, the two of you… well, I just assumed. I know you two are very close.”
“Oh, Tech…” You murmur, closing the distance, taking his hands. “I don’t think of Crosshair like that. He’s like a… best friend I suppose. It’s you that I… well that I…”
You struggle to find words, but Tech just smiles.
“I understand now.” He nods, squeezing your hands.
You reach up, nervously, on your toes to brush your lips against his. He catches your lips with his and pulls you closer. Warmth spreads throughout both of your bodies.
When you pull away, you’re both panting slightly.
“I should have done that sooner.” He smiles.
“Agreed.” You laugh as you kiss him once more before making your way back to the ship, arm in arm, his hand over yours.
When you get back to the ship, Wrecker and Omega start grinning goofily. Echo and Hunter smirk and Crosshair who knew about your feelings for the genius before anyone did, winks at you.
Echo gives up his copilot seat for you when they get into hyperspace. You assume that it’s so you can spend more time with Tech since everyone is suddenly out of the cockpit.
“Why don’t you read one of your books to me.” Tech offers.
You lean over and kiss him on the cheek. “Deal.”

Hey, can you do a poly marauders x fem reader where they get jealous because a slytherin boy is flirting with her because she has a snake ring ? Sorry if that was oddly specific, also you can decide if it’s fluff or smut ☺️
The snake ring and the snake [poly Marauders]
A/N: I loved this idea! Thank you so much for the request! I decided not to do smut since I haven’t written a non-smut poly Marauders fic before, but I hope you still enjoy it.
Pairings: Poly! Marauders x Fem! Non-Slytherin! Reader
Words: 1.5k
Warnings: Fluff, polyamorous relationship, flirty Slytherin boy… Idk, but let me know if I missed anything.
_____________________________________
The sound of pages being turned and voices speaking lowly filled the large library. The book in front of you had long lost its appeal and the words were all blending together as your mind wandered. You were daydreaming of the boys that occupied your thoughts, as they so often did. Your elbows were resting on the table, your fingers mindlessly fiddling with the golden snake ring placed on your right pointer finger. You loved your ring; it never left your finger and you never intended it to. It had been a gift from your three boyfriends when you had celebrated six months of being together.
The three boys were sitting a couple of tables away from you, having been shooed away as they often were the cause for your lack of concertation.
They often spared glances in your direction, not actually paying attention to their own work, as they were just waiting for you to be done so you all could head back to their dorm.
You were so caught up in your little daydream that you hadn’t noticed the boy with the green tie taking a seat beside you, a small smirk adorning his face.
“I like your ring,” he said causing your gaze to snap to his face.
“Thank you, I like it a lot as well,” you said with a smile.
“A pretty ring for a pretty girl… it would be even more perfect if you were in Slytherin,” he said moving a bit closer to you. You figured he did so just to observe your ring better, you were painfully blind whenever someone was flirting with you, and it often got you in trouble.
You laughed a little, “I don’t think I would fit in very well with you lot, but it would be fun to try to be a Slytherin just for a day.”
“I could show you our common room someday,” he offered, scooting even closer, your shoulders practically touching.
“I would love to see it! I want to see all the common rooms before we’re done with school… I’ve already seen the other three, so I’m only missing yours,” you said excitedly, completely missing the flirty suggestion that the boy had insinuated. You were just excited, hoping you could bring your boys with you, so you all could see the dark common room in the dungeons.
It was at this moment Sirius decided to look in your direction; his jaw almost hit the floor when he saw you sitting shoulder to shoulder with another boy, not just any boy but a Slytherin boy.
“Oi lads, look!” Sirius said while pointing to you.
The two other boys looked up from their books and were equally as shocked when they took in the sight before them.
They all saw you laughing at something the boy had said and none of them missed the sly smirk that had taken over his face.
The jealousy was growing in each of them, a frown taking over their faces as they observed you, blissfully unaware of the Slytherin boy’s intention.
You were just too nice for your own good and loved making new friends, especially from other houses, which your boyfriends often admired you for, but right at this moment, they wished you would just be less nice.
“I can’t handle this,” Sirius seethed, angry jealousy churning in his gut.
“She’s just being nice,” James tried, even though all he wanted to do was to shove that boy as far away from you as possible.
They watched as you tipped your head back, letting out another laugh. They were all memorized by the sound of your pretty laugh, but anger boiled in all three of the boys at the fact that someone else was causing such pretty laughs to leave your mouth.
Sirius’ eyes rolled up in his skull so many times, you would think they wouldn’t come down again.
“Well since she’s no longer studying, we can go join them,” Remus suggested, to which both boys nodded and quickly gathered their stuff and bolted towards your table.
“You can come by later tonight,” the Slytherin boy, whose name you had learned was Harry, suggested.
“Wouldn’t it be more fun to see it in the daytime? Then I could see the lake as well from the windows,” you said, still not picking up on his intentions.
“We could do it both during the day and during the night,” Harry said with a wink.
“That would be so fun,” you smiled, very excited to finally be able to see the Slytherin common room.
“What would be fun, Bunny?” Remus asked, your three boys now standing by your table.
“Oh hi! Harry here has invited me to see the Slytherin common room, so I’m finally going to have seen all four common rooms,” you said with a happy clap of your hands.
Remus, James, and Sirius all mentally facepalmed at how completely gullible you were.
James and Remus moved to sit on the other side of you, while Sirius went with the more territorial approach.
He stood beside your chair lifting you from it, “Up you get, pup.”
He then, not so gracefully, sat on the chair pulling you onto his lap hugging you close to his body.
Harry sat beside you, moving his chair away, so he wouldn’t be sitting so close to Sirius.
“And who might this be,” Harry asked, slightly annoyed and confused.
“Oh yeah, sorry… these are my boyfriends, James, Remus, and Sirius… and this is Harry,” you answered, also introducing Harry.
“I was hoping they could come to see the common room as well since they haven’t seen it either.”
“Uhm, I thought it would just be us… Uhm, but I guess,” Harry answered clearly confused, causing your three boyfriends to smirk.
“That would be so great, so we’ll come later this evening if your offers still on the table?” you asked hopefully.
“Uhm, yeah, sure…” Harry answered awkwardly.
“Yeah, it’s gonna be so fun, isn’t it Harry?” Sirius said, not really looking for an answer.
“And how nice of you to invite our girl to see your common room, wouldn’t have expected such niceties from a Slytherin,” Sirius added in a passive-aggressive tone, seeing right through Harry’s offer.
“Yeah… no problem, mate.”
“But we’ll all see you later then… bye,” Remus said and waved goodbye, a not-so-subtle hint for Harry to leave.
“Uhm bye,” Harry quickly scurried off, not wanting to agitate the boys any further.
You moved so you could sit sideways on Sirius’ lap, so you could see all three of their faces when you talked to them.
“What was that all about, pup?” Sirius asked, trying not to seem jealous or angry.
“What do you mean?” you said with a slight tilt of your head, not understanding what he meant.
“You were going to go to the Slytherin common room with him?” Sirius clarified.
“Yeah...? I mean, I was going to ask if you could join right before you came over, but then you came and he said you could come as well,” you were utterly lost, not understanding why they all seemed so angry.
“Oh, darling, you are absolutely adorable,” James laughed, causing Remus and Sirius to do the same.
A frown pulled at your lips, you weren’t very happy with being the bud of the joke and you were even less happy with not understanding it.
“I don’t understand what’s so funny,” you pouted.
“Aww, puppy,” Sirius smirked and kissed your pouting lips.
“Harry was flirting with you, he didn’t actually want to show you his common room, he did want to show you his dorm room though,” Remus explained causing your frown to deepen.
“Oh… I thought he was being friendly,” you mumbled in a small voice fidgeting with your fingers in your lap.
“You’re just our sweet girl, being nice to everyone, even when you shouldn’t,” Sirius said kissing your cheek and rubbing soothing circles on your back.
Your face turned red with embarrassment, and you buried your face in the crook of Sirius’ neck inhaling his masculine scent.
“I just wanted a new friend, and I made him think that I was going to hook up with him,” you said sadly, your voice muffled by Sirius’ clavicle.
“It’s okay, Bunny, you’re just bad at reading when people are flirting with you,” Remus said, trying to suppress his urge to laugh.
“Yeah, just think about how long it took before you realized we were flirting with you,” James said with a small laugh.
You let out a small laugh at that, thinking back to before you got together and how absolutely oblivious you had been.
“But I would never purposely flirt with anyone else, I didn’t mean to give him the wrong idea,” you said lifting your head, wanting to make your point very clear.
“We know, pretty girl, we just want other guys to understand that they shouldn’t flirt with what clearly doesn’t belong to them,” James said, reaching for your hand across the table and squeezing it.
“But do you still want to go see the Slytherin common room?” you said jokingly.
“If we really want to see it, I could just force good old Reggie to give us the password,” Sirius said with a slight laugh.

yayy you take requests 🥺 I really love your writing it’s one of the best I’ve come across on the internet I swear
was wondering if I can request a poly!marauder where reader is really snappy/irritated before her period and the boys don’t realize why she acts like that cause she’s usually really kind and loving. she may sometimes not even realize she’s being mean/scary?
she could then out of sudden break down crying over something very stupid - maybe because something or someone really annoyed her
and the boys are literally clueless
Hii! I’m so sorry this took so long 😭😭 this has been in my request for awhile but luckily I finished it today! I hope you don’t mind the delay, anyways I hope you enjoy it! Mwah.
P.S: I also included Peter! I hope you don’t mind (since you didn’t specify).
P.S.S: this is also really bad :)
Irritation (poly Marauders)
Reader: female (she/her)
Warning: irritation (described and displayed), swearing, fighting (mention of blood like once), intrusive thoughts, anxiety (displayed in characters, such as biting nails, words, etc), “baby, love, dove,”, mention of sex (not described though), talk of losing appetite and eating, hurt/comfort, comment to add more.
Word count: 3.6k
You woke up irritated, body aching slightly and adjusting to your upcoming period. You pick at your food, tapping your foot angrily as you listen to every chat. A good 1000 students talking was enough to give you a headache... or at least add onto the one you already had. The littlest sounds, like a fork scraping against the plate, sent you into a fit of rage and you snapped at Remus.
"We get it, the book’s good," you say, staring deep into your plate. Remus let his mouth hang open, mid sentence before closing it. The boys gave you a look, James trying to quickly figure out what the problem was. “…uh, something bothering you? No need to snap at Remus,”
“No need to snap at Remus,” you mocked, James eyebrows scrunched as he made a confused expression. Peter, who sat beside you, had his eyes slanted as he tried to figure out what your issue had been. “James wasn’t trying to-“ Peter had started, But you quickly cut him off.
“Peter, why don’t you just mind your business?” You question, you never had been mean to Peter, not as much as you joked around with the others. This banter confused Peter, and he looked away and bit the inside of his cheek.
“Hey now, don’t get bitchy,” Sirius tuned in, James had sucked in a breath as Sirius uttered the phrase. The boys stayed quiet, even Sirius knew he had said something wrong. You dropped your fork to the plate, it clanked loudly. You stood up, grabbed your bag roughly as the chair scraped against the floor from your quick movement.
“_____, love,” Peter began, trying to clear the miscommunication up with what Sirius had said. You waved him off, eyes glaring around at each of them. Remus had begun to shift awkwardly, not liking the tension, while Sirius had tried to stutter out that he didn’t mean it. James was a bit flushed, hating the anger that was now appearing. Peter had lost his appetite.
You pondered what to say, mouth slightly opened to spew out some insult but you felt ridiculous and teared up slightly. The boys just looked at you, not knowing what to say and somehow that made the situation worse.
“Why don’t you just fuck off,” you rushed out, not really knowing who that was directed towards. Before any of them could get a word in, you had walked quickly out of the dining hall.
“Why’d you say that?” Peter was the first to ask, Sirius feeling attacked over his words. “Well she was being bitchy, Peter you need to stop being such a coward and stick up for us once in awhile,”
“Pads,” James called, Peter rolling his eyes. Sirius snapped his head around, looking at each of them. “Well I’m right! She was making Moony feel bad,”
“She wasn’t making me feel bad,” Remus sighed, and Sirius shook his head and began to get a bit angry. “Yes she was, she had no right to start acting the way,”
“I don’t think we need to focus on what she said, we need to know why she acted that way,” James said, rubbing a hand over his chest. “Did she fail a test or something? Did she mention anything that was bothering her?” He pondered to them.
Everyone shook their heads, they all were confused on why you had acted that way. They had completely forgotten about your period. You never acted so vile on your period, you usually just acted the same. Yet they forgot to realise that not every period was going to be the same and emotions were heightened.
“Maybe Snape said something,” Peter thought, and Remus nodded his head. “True, I did hear that they got partnered for a project in herbology,” Remus said, and all of the boys sorta grumbled at the thought of you working with Snape.
“Yeah if I was partnered with him I’d be bitchy,” Sirius said, nodding his head like he understood now. James hit Sirius on the back hard, and Sirius shot him a look. “Stop referring to her as a bitch,” James said, upset. He never liked the degrading words used against you, there were much better words to phrase your reaction.
“Alright alright,” Sirius said in surrender, feeling guilty now for upsetting you further. Remus stayed quiet, he wasn’t upset about you snapping at him, he was upset at the fact that you felt the need to snap at him.
Peter felt wiry, he didn’t like when you were upset. He always felt like he was to blame, especially since you were always so loving. He decided to go check on you, not liking the tears he had seen in your eyes.
“Where are you going?” Remus asked, he knew exactly what Peter was intending to do but he just wanted confirmation. Sirius and James were deep in conversation, planning on pranking Snape to make you feel better (they had confirmed the issue was Snape, before even asking you what was truly wrong).
“I’m gonna go check on her,” Peter said, cleaning his plate as much as he could as he stacked the dirty dishes together. “I’ll come with,” Remus said, sitting up and Peter took Remus's plate and stacked it with his. “We’re going to go check on her,”
Sirius piped up, standing up before Remus sat him back down with a hand to his shoulder. “Not you, not yet,” Remus told him, and Sirius pouted.
Remus and Peter walked out of the dining hall, and Sirius and James conversed about the prank.
“I don’t think it’s Snape,” Peter said, and Remus nodded. “No, me neither,”
“I just can't figure out what it could be,'' Peter sighed, looking down halls and out windows to see if he could spot you. Remus nodded, sighing as well.
They stayed quiet for a bit, Peter more hyper fixed on finding you (Remus felt the same, but was much better at hiding his worry). Peter stopped, looking over at Remus. “You know she didn’t mean it,” Peter told him and Remus nodded.
“I know, I’m not mad at her,” Remus spoke, and Peter nodded like Remus had. “And you know she didn’t mean to snap at you, it’s not your fault she’s irritated,” Remus said, knowing Peter's thoughts.
Peter nodded, though half doubted it as they continued on their look for you.
Peter and Remus hadn’t found you, they had arrived late to transfiguration, Professor McGonagall gave them an eye and told them to sit.
“Where is she?” Sirius asked, James listening in as he leaned closer to where Remus and Peter sat in front of them. Next to James, was an empty seat. Sirius sat opposite of the empty seat.
“Couldn’t find her,” Remus said, James grew worried.
“We will look at the map later,” he said, reassuring the group but it was more for reassuring himself. They all nodded, trying to focus on class, yet they kept wondering about the thought of you.
“No I’m worried,” Sirius said after a while, Remus looked behind them as Peter bit at his nails. “Pads it’s alright; she’s fine,” James stated, but Sirius doubted him.
“You don’t know that, what if what I said made her upset!” He whispered, and Remus turned back around and let James handle Sirius.
“She’s not like that, she was clearly irritated before you talked with her, she’s probably just having a bad day,” James tried to make up any safe possible scenario, he didn’t want to think about dreadful things.
“But-“ Sirius said, and Peter whipped around. “Just shut up Sirius, alright? We will find her after class,” he grew irritated and Sirius grumbled and stayed quiet.
They had found you quickly with the help of their invention, but you had put up a wall and just shrugged them off.
“Baby, listen if it’s about what I said this morning,” Sirius began, but you continued to look down at your open book. The library was quiet before, and students listened in to hear the drama of the group.
“Can you just go away? I can't read when you’re talking to me,” you said, mouth in a frown. Remus was the first to realize you really did just want space and he decided it was best to let you get over your irritation, but convincing the rest of the boys was the hardest part.
“She just wants to read guys, come on,” Remus said, grabbing Sirius arm to pull him away from hovering over you (which Peter had noticed was pissing you off). James stayed in place, so did Peter.
“She can’t skip class Remus,” James said seriously, looking down at you as you continued to stare at your book, not sparing a glance at them.
“_____,” James warned, reaching out to hold your shoulder gently and you twitched and removed his hand from your shoulder. “You can't skip class love,”
“Fuck off, you never give Peter or Sirius any shit for skipping,” you scoffed, and James began to get a bit irritated with your rude behaviour.
“Yes I do-“ James was quick to defend himself, and you rolled your eyes.
“Can you seriously fuck off? Like what do you not get about me wanting to be alone? That doesn’t mean I want you around,” you snapped at him, turning around and glaring. “All of you need to fuck off,”
They stayed quiet, looking at you again such as how they did this morning. James stepped back, “alright,” he said, walking out of the library as Sirius followed behind with a grumble.
“We will see you at lunch?” Remus asked and you just ignored him. He decided to follow behind Sirius and James.
Peter stayed, weight going between each foot as he swayed back and forth. You looked over at him, an eyebrow raised as you waited for him to leave, he didn’t.
“I want you to leave,” you said, staring at him like he was incompetent. Peter shrunk slightly against your harsh gaze. “I know what you want,” Peter said, “but don’t you care what I want? What we want?”
“I don’t owe you sex,” you scoffed, misinterpreting what he meant. Peter shook his head, “No, you don’t. that’s not what I meant,”
“What could you possibly mean then?” You asked, huffing. Peter sat down beside you and you slid your chair away. Didn't you get that they were worried?
“What’s wrong,” he asked, “how can I make it better?” He felt completely hopeless. You just shrugged, the wall you had blocked them with slowly falling a bit. But then you remembered that they didn’t even know why you were upset, how could they even forget you had a period? The fury built back up again, all they cared about was themselves. It was always Remus's monthly, never yours.
“You can make it better by fucking going away,” you swore, and Peter did just that.
Two days went by, without much effort to talk to the boys. They all tried their hardest to catch your attention and make you feel better, yet their proposals were quickly dismissed.
James had got you many gifts, him and Sirius even snuck into Hogsmeade to get you sweets from honey dukes. You took the sweets, but dismissed them entirely.
Remus tried to talk to you about the books you had been reading, but you told him you weren’t interested in talking with him and left.
Sirius got frustrated pretty easily with not being able to hold hands with you and locked you in the broom closet with him. James had found him an hour later, knocked out.
Peter followed you around, you found many flowers left in your dorm. You had received about 10 letters from him, each every morning, before your first class, during lunch, at dinner, and before you went to bed. You had read them, cuddling with your blankets.
On the third day, you wanted attention and affection. Cramps had made you emotional, you just wanted some attention from your boys. But when you had sat by them at the table, hand going to hold Sirius’s, he had pulled it away from you. You frowned, trying again but he pulled it away. You knew something was wrong, even this morning you haven't received a good morning letter from Peter.
“So what, you think you can just come hang out with us and think nothings wrong?” James asked you, they had all grown irritated with your behaviour. You yourself hadn’t really noticed the way you had been treating them.
“What do you mean?” You asked confused, looking between each of them as they laughed. You felt hurt, knowing they were making fun of you. You tried to hold Peter's hand but he was too quick and pulled it away before you could even touch him.
“You wanted to be left alone,” he reminded you. Remus nodded his head, “you even ignored all of our gifts,” James said, and Sirius laughed and made a joke.
“I didn’t want gifts,” you told them, “when have I ever asked for gifts?” You continued, and they became quiet. Had you been rude to them?
You began to think over the last few days, some things you had done were questionable but it was justified. Couldn’t they see you were emotional?
Did they even care? Of course with these thoughts, your brain forgot to realize all the attempts they made, all the worrying they felt, all the times they talked in private and grew concerned for your well-being.
“You kept snapping at us, you can’t just be rude to us for no reason and then expect us to be okay with it, you don’t get cuddles _____,” James told you firmly, but you tilted your head, you began to get angry again.
“So when I don’t ask for something you give it to me, but when I want to hold your fucking hand that's not allowed? Do you even care what I want?” You asked, you realised how unreasonable some of what you were saying was. You had remembered what Peter had said in the library and you grew quiet.
“Nevermind,” you snapped quickly just as they were about to argue with you. You got up, saddened that you couldn’t get the affection you wanted. You left, heading to herbology.
The first class, along with the banter from this morning, ruined your whole day. You had to work with Snape, already in a bad mood.
He had been pretty quiet, so had you, only talking to each other about the project and what was necessary. It was all going fine until the end of the class, when he had said something that made you feel terrible.
“You and the Marauders hadn’t been hanging out recently, I guess they came to their senses that you weren’t really worth it,” he began, who knew why he had said it, but it was enough to trigger some deeper emotional rage. You screamed at him in the hallway, completely losing it at him. At some point, both your wands had been drawn and just before something bloody happened, the professor had stopped it. You had been given detention and since you had been the one that had started the duel, Snape got off scot free.
The Marauders had heard about what happened and what made it worse is that they didn’t try to find you. You passed by James and Sirius in the hall, hoping to talk to them and get all of the anger out about what Snape had said. But they just said a simple “we don’t really want to talk to you right now,”
You watched them walk down the hall, they hadn’t wanted to know if you were okay? They were always curious about any drama revolving around Snape.
You had cried in the bathroom, moaning myrtle was the only one who cared enough to ask you what was wrong. You felt pathetic relying your emotions on a ghost that lives in the bathroom, but it was somehow comforting listening to her weep along with you.
Maybe Snape was right, maybe they did come to their senses.
After detention, you passed by the Gryffindor portrait. You had debated for several minutes if you wanted to go see them and finally the fat lady decided to just let you in and told you a “Stop weeping outside my door, I have a date soon and you’re going to ruin it, go in go in,”
You had climbed up the steps, you were going to leave once you reached their door, but it was already open with James waiting for you.
“We saw you on the map,” he said once he noticed you were confused. “Oh,” you said, you looked completely drained and James showed a soft remorse that made you crumple.
“Shh it’s okay,” he comforted, bringing you close as you shakily sighed into his chest. Your arms came to wrap around him, lips trembling as you started to cry. “Let’s get out of the hallway,” James told you, leading you into their dorm as he closed the door for privacy. Your face still buried in his chest, weeping uncontrollably as Sirius sat up from his lying position at the sound.
Peter and Remus piped up as well, as Sirius walked over and took you in his arms. He glared at James, thinking he did something.
“What’s wrong baby?” Sirius whispered gently, guiding you over to the bed as he sat you down on James bed. “It hurts,” you say, not giving much context as they all look at you confused, high in alert and they felt guilty for ignoring you in this state.
“What hurts?” Remus asked, Peter and him had come to stand close as James sat down on the other side of you. James pressed the back of his hand to your forehead, “she doesn’t feel warm,” he told them.
“Love what hurts?” Peter repeated, you sniffled and tried to calm down enough to tell them what was wrong. “My period,” you choked, you thought they had realised by now. The boys became aware quickly that that’s what had been making you upset the past few days.
“You’re periods don’t usually make you this emotional,” James questioned and you scoffed but they decided to let it slide.
“They aren’t always the same,” you told them, wiping your eyes as your uterus twisted again. You let out another sob, you didn’t want to go through this alone.
“I’m sorry dove, we should’ve realised sooner,” Remus said, crouching down as he took you in his arms. You curled yourself into him, he picked you up and switched so he was the one sitting down.
“Snape said something,” you sniffled, face resting in Remus's neck as your nose brushed up against his neck. They all became a bit angry, not liking the sound of that.
“What did he say?” James asked, rubbing your back. You took a moment to try and phrase it, it felt embarrassing to admit that his words had worried you. “He said… that the reason you guys were ignoring me was because you came to your senses,”
“Senses to what?” Peter asked, they all had been confused. “That you didn’t like me anymore,” you whimpered the words, tears welling up again. Their hearts stopped for a second, squeezing so tight they all thought they would pass out. James was angry with himself and Snape. James and Sirius felt horrible for ignoring you right after what Snape had said, they didn’t want to prove his statement.
“That fucking bastard,” Sirius fumed, standing up but peter pushed him back down. “She needs us, going off and throwing a few punches won’t do any good,” he whispered and Sirius looked over at James, but James only agreed with Peter. “Not right now,” he mouthed before they pulled their attention back to you.
“We’re so sorry,” Remus coo’s, rocking you gently as you cry into his neck. They all feel pity and a sense of guilt. “So sorry,” you tell them, feeling horrible for snapping.
“You don’t have to apologise,” James assures, rubbing your hair as he pulls it away from your soaked face. “we didn’t know, that’s on us,”
“I didn’t tell you,” you cried, “I was so mean to you, I didn’t mean it. Snape is right,” Sirius fumes at your thoughts.
“Don’t fucking say that bastard is right, he’s a-“ remus shoots Sirius a dangerous look, telling him to shut up before he upsets you more.
“We shouldn’t have just assumed every period is going to be the same, that's on us love,” James said, kissing your temple. “It ain’t right we care for Remus on his monthly and then ignore yours,” James said and Remus shot him to look like he had Sirius.
“It’s okay,” you say, calming down as you rub your face. “It’s not,” Sirius said, kissing your shoulder. Peter cleans up your face, rubbing gently with a warm cloth.
Without saying a word, they had concluded to spoil you. James had filled a heating pad with hot water, Sirius went down to get a potion to soothe your pain, Remus was helping you into a comfy jumper and pyjamas as Peter was getting the junk food.
After everyone got back and situated, you had found yourself between Remus and James, a black dog cuddled between your legs; it’s head over your lap, while a rat was curled under your chin. A heating pad rested on your stomach, junk food around the bed. You sigh happily, resting your head on James' chest while one hand is running through a thick fur coat, your other hand occupied with Remus's. You felt comfortable, all fights dismissed and forgiven, before you fell asleep, James had whispered “you deserve us, we aren’t going anywhere, not even when it gets rough,”.

Honestly just the entire song is black brothers coded!
My father never talked a lot, he just took a walk around the block. ‘Til his anger took ahold of him, and then he’d hit
Walburga and Orions a+ parenting
I say they’re just the ones who gave me life, but I truly am my parents’ child
Sirius getting sorted into gryffindor and trying to do everything he can to distance himself from the black name. But then he’ll do something without thinking and realize that no matter how hard he tried to move on they’ve left an impression on his life. And sometimes when he lashes out into in a way that’s not dissimilar to his parents. Especially when it involves regulus. Regulus on the other hand follows their rules and does as he’s told however deep inside he resents them for making Sirius leave more than he hates Sirius for leaving. However he has nowhere to go so he keeps playing the part and living up to his parents expectations of him…
It’s hard to put it into words, HOW THE HOLIDAYS WILL ALWAYS HURT
This line is so black brothers coded it’s not even funny! It was during the holidays that Sirius finally got out. No matter how great the potters are to him he’ll never be able to celebrate the holidays without thinking about the brother he had to leave behind. He can’t not think about the people who were supposed to be his parents, who were supposed to care about him. They hurt him to the point where he had no choice but to leave. Regulus can’t celebrate the holidays without thinking about his brother who left him in that house with the “parents” who are now hurting him if he doesn’t do everything they tell him to. He can’t help but wonder what it’s like for Sirius and why he’s not coming back to get him.
And wonder what I did to do serve this, how could you hurt a little kid?
Again with Walburga and Orions A+ parenting. They were supposed to be their parents and yet they constantly hurt them. Going so far as to use unforgivable curses. Yes Sirius was rebellious and didn’t listen but he still wonders how they could go that far with hurting their own child. Regulus had to stand by and watch it happen not being able to stop them from hurting his brother.
I can’t forget, I can’t forgive you
I know you did this one but I had more thoughts 😅 Along with the last line this applies to how regulus feels about Sirius leaving. Because he doesn’t know what he did to deserve being left behind. He was just a kid! He wasn’t brave enough to leave and then he was alone with nowhere to go. He’ll never forget how betrayed he felt when Sirius left, even tho he knows deep down that it’s not actually Sirius’ fault. He still can’t help but blame him and I don’t think he properly forgives him until the end. Sirius on the other hand CAN understand why Regulus stayed. However what he can’t understand is how he could do all the things he did after Sirius left. THAT’S what he can’t forgive regulus for. Not the staying but getting the mark and working with the death eaters.
‘Cause now I’m scared everyone I love will leave
You already did this line too but I wanted to add to it. Not only do they have attachments issues but they both struggle to accept affection. At first when Sirius realized that Remus likes him back he doesn’t know how to accept it because he doesn’t think he deserves it. He doesn’t think he’s worth loving because the people who were supposed to love and care for him went and did the opposite. Regulus has the same struggle but where Sirius had the Potters and the marauders to teach him how to accept love and accretion Regulus had no one (ok no he had the skittles but the point is it was much harder for him)
Oh, all that I did to try to undo it, all of my pain and all your excuses
This goes very closely with the last one and how hard Sirius worked to undo all the damage his parents did to him. He worked so fucking hard to learn to love and be loved in a healthy way. I’m the beginning both brothers thought that the way their parents acted was normal, until they started school and learned that your parents aren’t supposed to hurt you. They both had to learn that love isn’t supposed to hurt that way.
All of my past, I tried to erase it
Sirius really did work hard to move on from that house. Trying to erase it all from both his memories and association. He will always be a black but he did everything he could to prove he was nothing like the rest of them. Regulus tried too, in the end. He tried but he could never erase all the things he did before he made it that far.
Might share a face and share a last name, but (We are not the same)
Adding to this one too! Because I don’t think this only applies to their parents. This applies to them as brothers too. Especially from Sirius’ pov. When he looks at his brother he sees a younger version of himself. One that didn’t rebel but who did what he was told and was deserving of actual love and affection from their parents (he was probably a little blinded by this and didn’t see regulus as suffering all the time). Sirius found it hard to look at his brother and see the perfect black heir knowing it was supposed to be him but he could never live up to that. Regulus looks at his brother and sees something who got out, someone who left him. Sort of the vibe of that lyric from the exit - Conan gray that goes “we’ve got matching wounds, but mines still black and bruised, and yours is perfectly fine.” Regulus sees what he could have had if he left too but he wasn’t strong enough. He sees a reflection of what could have been but what he’ll never get.
That got wayyyyy longer than I meant it too but I think about this every time I listen to family line (which is a lot). Some of this is probably more headcanons than anything but oh well…
“family line” by conan gray represents the black brothers entirely. let me elaborate.
scattered ‘cross my family line, i’m so good at telling lies
they both became so good at hiding their emotions from their parents and others, it just manifested in a different way for each of them. sirius became more brash and outspoken, playing himself off as a boisterous person who was always happy and making jokes, but was hurting. regulus became closed off and sequestered himself to the ideals and influences of those around him, but in the end still fooled those around him because he became so good at lying.
god, I have my father's eyes, but my sister's when I cry
this but esp w/ trans reg hc. sirius never really getting a chance to know regulus. both of them hating what they see in the mirror because as much as they try to remove themselves from their family they share physical similarities that aren’t easily changed. sirius can grow his hair, but he’ll always have his fathers eyes. regulus can try to adjust his mannerisms, but he’ll always have his mothers high cheekbones. when they see themselves in the mirror on a particularly bad day it’s all they can see and it just makes everything worse.
i was a kid but i wasn’t clueless, someone who loves you wouldn’t do this
self-explanatory. they were only kids when they were being put through literal hell, having unforgivables used against them and food withheld when they were less than perfect. it’s so normalized for them that when they get to school and talk about it like it’s the most normal thing in the world, everyone else is like “what the fuck?” and they’re like. oh. wait. this isn’t normal.
i can’t forget i can’t forgive, ‘cause now i’m scared that everyone i love will leave me
sirius found that love and security in remus as a lover and james as a brother, but regulus never didn’t have that security after sirius left.
might share a face and share a last name, but we are not the same
regulus feeling resentment towards sirius for leaving and sirius feeling resentment towards regulus for staying and conforming to their parents. they might look very similar and have the black family name, but their upbringing’s and places in the family drastically changed their personalities and survival instincts and self-preservation reactions. sirius had to get out because staying was killing him, so he left in self-preservation because he had james, which made regulus resent sirius. regulus didn’t have a place to go to, so his self-preservation tactic was to double down and become the ideal son his parents wanted in sirius, which made sirius resent regulus.
