I can’t stop thinking about Siffrin and Loop as the knife’s edge between self-love and self-hatred.

To realize that there is a part of you that no one will ever recognize. That you can be so violent towards yourself and so compassionate, that there is a world where you destroyed everything you ever loved and a world where you were saved. To look at yourself and see that you have changed, are changing, every moment of every day, but some things remain the same. To know that you can try to kill the person you once were, but they won’t ever go away. Not really.

To find happiness and solace while knowing that there is still a part of you, somewhere, that is broken and lonely and unreachable, that may not ever know that kind of peace. At the same time, to feel like the people around you love some other version of yourself, someone brighter and better, someone you will always feel disconnected from. In both cases, to resent that broken part of you, that better version of yourself.

To discover, too late, that you can’t do this alone. You need people, certainly. You need people who care about you, who will look for you when you are lost, who will reach out to you in darkness. But even more so, you need the ability to call for help, to guide your people towards you. You need the will to save yourself.

And calling for help is an act of love. And regretting your mistakes is an act of love. And despising the things that have caused you pain is an act of love. It is looking out at the world, eyes narrowed, hands balled into fists, and believing, deep down, that you don’t deserve to suffer. And love is fierce, violent, and destructive. And love begets violence. And there is such a thin boundary between love and hate.

Loop loved Siffrin, and hated him. Siffrin loved Loop, and hated them. As they both loved and hated themselves. As they loved and hated themself.

And looking at your own reflection, at the wrong you have done, and offering forgiveness? Refusing, in the end, to continue to harm yourself? Acknowledging the role you played in your own suffering, and understanding that this does not invalidate the pain you felt back then? The pain you will always feel?

That is an act of love.

I've seen a lot of fanart where Wade says something kinda Corney, or horny, or both and Logan just fucking stabs him.

Like I get it, it's their dynamic, neither one of them can die so it's fine, they showed this dynamic in the Honda Oddesy scene...

But do you ever think Logan does it one day and Wade suddenly goes all serious. Like he says something like "You are one good looking peanut" or something stupid and Logan promptly stabs him in the side whilst Wade is going in for a hug and he just pulls away and glares at Logan.

Logan is so fucking surprised coz usually Wade doubles down and follows up with an even cringer comments but today he looks genuinely mad (btw this is in the context of them being in an established relationship)

Hes like "Can you stop fucking doing that? I know I won't die and I'll be healed in about 7 and a half minutes but seriously it's not funny. I'm trying to show you some stupid affection, you know I can't do that normally and every fucking time you hurt me. It's fucking toxic"

And Logan is just kinda flabbergasted and ashamed. Clearly this Logan isn't used to love and does not react too well to it but he doesn't really know what to say.

Wade tries to walk away but Logan just grabs him and gives him a hug. A tender embrace, because he can't say it in words and he wants to make up for the fact that he keeps physically injuring Wade

I've decided, building on this post, after Stockman is told that manipulating vines is really hard and takes a super long time to learn that he decides to teach himself how to do it out of spite. Man is about 3 seconds away from losing control and sending that vine through his ceiling <3

Siffrin is of the Lonely.

This is the fear of isolation, of being completely cut off from other people. This is the fear that preys on lone travelers. This is the fear that once trapped an actor in an endless performance, unable to perceive people as anything other than masked audience members and hollow performers. This is the fear that manifested during the apocalypse as a massive empty house that slowly feeds on your memories, making you forget your friends, family and identity until you are left an empty shell, completely alone.

As a rule, the fears are nigh-inescapable. But the Lonely stands apart even from the other entities, because it is actually impossible to escape it on your own. You must remember the people who care about you, even as memory fades and they seem years away. You must cry out for help, or reach out for a lifeline thrown by someone else, even if it feels like dying. Someone who cares about you must come looking for you, and they must not turn back, even if the Lonely tries to drag them in too.

The Lonely is the fear of being abandoned. What could frighten Siffrin more?

Aaaaa- so Dream and Nightmare are entities that occupy skeleton bodies right? Because their energy was too big and unstable for them to live without a 'shell', right?

Imagine if sometimes the twins showed glimpses of their true forms, of the power that is caged in their bodies - such as emitting auras so strong they can be seem by eye, unique eyelights etc.

...Perhaps even...if they get powerful enough... they can get a true form? That doesn't depend on a shell? And is astonishing because omg powerful guardian lets go-

Hey-ho! I'm back again with some Apex Polarity art, but this time it's some designs for the humans' snow gear!

It started out with me just trying to figure out a design for y/n in my little comic, but then I thought it would be fun to also try and visualize the other humans, so here's my take of y/n, Vanessa and Michael! I really like how they turned out, although I don't think I got Vanessa's "patchwork" look quite right, but I still like where I landed. I added a blue scarf and I was really tempted to give her those red goggles, since it would've made her resemble Vanny even more, but in the end I desided against it.

So yeah- nothing too big this time, just something fun and easy!

But to round this off, I will of course credit the wonderful author @naffeclipse who is writing Apex Polarity, which you can go read if you click right here (can 100% recommend, especially if you like stories with a bunch of fluff, mystery and drama~!) and today I give credit to myself for the designs of the humans! ;P
