“You’ll want to keep the stitches and bandages clean and dry,”  she instructed as she led the way into the greenhouse.  “And if you do get your injuries wet, be sure to…”

Lisa trailed off, noticing the boy’s blue eyes were darting around the room.  Not with his by now customary suspicion but rather in undisguised awe at her collection of raised plant beds containing a boundless variety of herbs, vegetables, and flowers.  It must’ve been a startling sight compared to the dry, cold world of autumn outside, but it wasn’t enough to distract him entirely.  He was quick to notice she’d stopped talking and snapped his attention back to her, not unlike a young pricket watching for wolves.

“The sun keeps the room warm,”  she explained cheerily.  “And the water from the plants provides humidity."  She almost said like a rainforest before catching herself.  A simple ‘peasant woman’ like herself wouldn’t know what that word was, even if she’d had the chance to visit an ecosystem like that.  Matter of fact, Lisa wasn’t even certain if a regional nobleman’s son would know that word, although she imagined the Belmonts could have easily traveled through Europe's rainforests, and possibly Africa and Asia’s as well.  Clearing her throat, she resumed her instructions about keeping the wounds dry as she handed her patient a towel, a cake of soap, and a clean tunic.  “Any questions?”

1. On one hand, I just want them to be happy and soft because they deserve it. On the other hand, I know that doesn’t make for compelling TV. So in addition to the Gabriel thing, I’d probably have Carlos develop an addiction of his own. Maybe it’s like, stimulants because he’s putting so much time and effort into finding who killed his father. But TK is in denial for the longest time because Carlos would never do that, and once he realizes that he’s wrong, it puts TK’s own recovery to the test getting Carlos the help he needs, but he pulls through and gets Carlos on the path to recovery as well. I know, I’m terrible, I’m sorry.

2. Either Julius to make Tommy’s life with Trevor very complicated, or Billy because I can’t help it, I love Billy. Or Alex trying to win TK back, just so I can watch Carlos could punch him out.

3. If it wasn’t for the identical cousin storyline Mateo had, I thought it would’ve been absolutely hilarious if they did House crossover and Owen’s other ex-wife was Lisa Cuddy, also played by Lisa Edelstein. But since they already did this kind of with Mateo, I’m going to be boring and say another 911 crossover would be cool. More of TK clocking Buck from a mile away and Eddie conveniently entering the scene immediately after, please and thanks, because that was so funny.

4. A Halloween episode for sure. I hate to say anything nice ever about Riverdale, but I loved the “3 different vignettes in one” episodes they’d do, especially the one in season 2. I think it would be REALLY cool to do something like that, where we have one story with Carlos investigating Gabriel’s murder solo and things get creepy, and then another story of the 126 showing up to a call except it’s to an abandoned asylum or something and they find out no one actually called (it’s like a ghost call), and then a third story of maybe Grace and the Wyatt and Charlie having a Halloween night in but it goes very “The Strangers” on them and someone is trying to break into their house but it’s really just like Judd’s daddy or someone totally innocuous.

5. A part of me wants to say the absolute blatant rip off of the Gabby Petito case, but I love Marjan centric episodes and there are not enough of them. So uh… probably the Owen stalker storyline. I don’t need more of Rob Lowe stroking his own ego on my screen.

6. Either Jensen Ackles or Timothy Olyphant as the new like, lead Texas Ranger. Basically taking over Gabriel’s position. And he would either a) be really keen on working with Carlos to help solve the murder because he has history with Gabriel or b) is behind the murder of Gabriel. Or both!

7. Ugh, this is so hard. I love both! I think he’s happier as a paramedic, but I wish he’d have more to do than drop the “BP is whatever over whatever, Cap!” line. Plus, I miss the little rivalry between him and Carlos when TK was AFD. I think I like him better as a firefighter, but I’m good with either.

8. REYES, TEXAS RANGER. I really wanted Detective Reyes, but I totally respect Carlos’s want to save people rather than figure out the case after the damage has been done. That being said, I kind of have a sneaking suspicion that a fellow ranger did Gabriel in, and I feel like Carlos will both NEED to get into the rangers to figure that piece out, and will WANT to next season to honor his father. Also, Team Carlos in a Cowboy Hat.

9. A Carlos flashback if I had to pick. IDK, I feel like TK has a lot of episodes that kind of center his trauma, so we know a LOT about TK, and less about Carlos. So it’d be nice to see more of his story, pre-TK.

10. A new partner for Carlos. You know… because he becomes a ranger… bonus if it causes a little bit of tension between him and TK like Cooper did! (I like the angst, I can’t help it)

11. Lou II! I love reptiles and TK being a lizard boy and Carlos being sketched out by them… all of it is adorable.

12. I’m gonna say Carlos’s sisters, just because I don’t think we’ll see much of TK’s cousins going forward unless Sydney decides to come after Owen for assisted suicide. Which would not surprise me in the least.

Fandom: Castlevania (Netflix) (Season 2)

Character Focus: Alucard

Summary: What happened during that month in which Alucard was alone in the castle?

Alucard dealing with the aftermath of S2, and trying to cope with the death—or, more accurately, the ghosts—of his parents.

Notes: First of all, spoilers for season 2!

Another Alucard-centric fic, but actually about the show this time!! Whoo!! I'm excited to finally start posting this one. 

Believe it or not, I started this idea a while before S3 started, wanting to write something for the time after S2 of Alucard being alone in the castle. Then after S3 I wanted to write it both more and less XD The idea of Alucard seeing ghosts brought up at the end of S2 is an interesting one, and one I thought deserved more exploration. As well as just that month where he's alone being something interesting to write about. 

This is one of those fics I wanted to post as a long one-shot, but ultimately got stuck and decided it would be better to break it up into chapters to make it more manageable for both reading and writing. I said it'd be 4 chapters above, but I'm not quite sure exactly how many it'll be. It just helps me to jot down a manageable ballpark number.

That being said, one of the reasons I hesitate to break things up into chapters, is because if people don't seem interested it severely inhibits my desire to keep writing that fic. So, it really does help my motivation a LOT when you comment and say you want to read more!! So just know that when you comment, you're helping more of this fic get written!!

Chapter 1: Reminders

There were no graves. Dracula and Lisa didn’t get graves. The rest of the world would have said they didn’t deserve to rest in peace.

Antigone would say Polynices deserved to sing in Olympus all the same.

The only grave they got was a castle. And many would say it was better than most—that they’d take a castle over a headstone, a mausoleum, or the ground any day. They’d say a castle was a hell of a lot better than being dumped down the sewage grate.

And all that’s fair, but perhaps the bigger problem was this: there were no remains.

They both burned. One in holy fire, one in hell. (And who could say where they truly ended up, if there was a heaven and hell after all?)

All that was left of Lisa Tepes was a pile of charcoal on an altar to a priests own pride.

And all that was left of Vlad Tepes was a ring, and a soot stain on the carpet.

Most would say they got what they deserved; to die without chance at Olympus.

Adrian doesn’t know where to put his flowers.

Most children bury their parents eventually, but usually this is when they have children of their own to keep them company, and their parents have been bouncing grandchildren on their knees for at least a year or two, with white hair and crinkled smiles, barely able to walk, or see: sick and ready to greet the gods.

Adrian may look old enough to settle down, but he’s younger than most would surmise. And while he can certainly handle himself, he was not prepared for his parents to die within a year of each other…especially considering that the parent who was meant to be immortal died by his own hand.

He would have liked to have some respite in his own home.

But perhaps, more important than where to put flowers, there was most unfortunate side effect of the lack of remains, and the castle grave:

Ghosts.

And this isn’t the pearly white wraiths wandering around saying ‘boo’, or skulls that float about the head gnashing their teeth. Not even a chained apparition to remind one of their sins.

This is something much worse. Worse because they belong to the house’s owner. Worse because their true grave is his head.

—(And that place never rested)—

Their ghosts wander the castle, not just a graveyard. This castle seems to have an affinity for the undead.

Maybe not everyone could see them. He tries not to indulge the thought that maybe there’s nothing there at all, and they’re nothing more than undead memory.

Alucard has been seeing ghosts since the moment he was left alone in this place.

He’d rather have a grave to mourn them at, and converse with the memories, than watch their ghosts keep him up at night, unable to touch, or to talk to them.

He should remind himself to look up the definition of ‘torment’ later.

At first it was his father’s steps when he walked up the stairs. His mother’s smiles, his own young laughter when he sat in the study. When he sat at the table to eat, he watched the vampire king tossing a young boy into the air, both laughing like fairy wing beats, as Lisa watched on from the table. Alucard tried not to lose his appetite.

Then they were given voice: it was Father’s lessons when he looked for a book in the library. Mother’s stories as he sat reading, making him incapable of concentrating to his own book all the while. Baking cookies together in the kitchen. Father allowing him his first drink—(of wine or blood? Take a guess. He only needed one of them, after all)—as he walked through the cellar. Mother decorating the castle, making it look a little nicer, a little more alive. Not all of them were positive. Their arguing voices down the hallway. His own tears.

Father’s claws against his chest.

And he wouldn’t dare get close to that room. Because whenever he walks past the door, he can still hear his father speak to him like he did when he was still a child dressed in sunlight, and there was nothing but love.

Mother, father and…himself. As if he died long ago with them. As if the happy child he was within them is gone. As if he’s no longer the Adrian who sat with his parents, read with them, baked cookies, and laughed with them…but the Alucard who killed them.

And, well, maybe he didn’t kill his mother, but sometimes he didn’t know what else to think but to blame himself for the thought that he could have saved her.

And he did kill his father.

He still feels that stake in his hand when he walks by that room—(But it wasn’t a stake was it? It was the bedpost of his childhood bed, as if ripping his childhood at the seams and denying everything he was born as). He still feels its splinters in his fingers, the smell of pine, the feeling of it piercing his father’s chest, the way his heartbeat refused to stop—(he rested his head on his chest once, the constancy of the rhythm was comforting then). The warmth of his father’s blood draining over his fingers. The sound of his father’s ripping voice. The unearthly, ungodly howling of the souls trapped inside him—(was he really so bad?). He could still smell his flesh burning.

He still wakes up in the middle of the night with the image of his fathers face melting off its bones as it came closer to him, reaching out as if to to caress his son’s cheek, seared onto his eyes—(is this how Victor Frankenstein felt when the creature smiled at his window?)

But when the morning came, he took that ring and he wore it on a chain around his neck all the same, to remind him of a few things:

One: that love is one of those things that is free, but comes at a high price. If you take it lightly, it will leave you heavily.

Two, an addendum to one: that love is not soft. Love is not flowery words, or even the insatiable desires the romance novels say it is. Love is an insidious fire, when you have it, it rages, and you know what warmth is. When the fireplace is empty it aches, and when your heart breaks your chest gets cut on all the pieces. And underestimating it, calling it weakness, will always be your undoing.

Three—(one that was beginning to weigh heaviest): that living and immortality are not the same thing. Vlad may have been immortal, but he was only ever alive with Lisa.

Four: to always know where he came from…and where he didn’t want to end up.

Five, and final: that though he had saved lives, though it was noble, and the stories and songs would say he was brave, and though Trevor and Sypha would say it was for the greater good…he would always be the son who loved his father…and the son who drove the stake into his father’s heart.

All for love.

He can find respite from the memories sometimes. He finds himself spending too much time down in the Belmont hold, reading, organizing, putting away ancestors—(ancestors not of his, ones that didn’t come back). Learning, pursing his lip in disapproval, or laughing to himself at the thought of some of the things Trevor’s relatives did (making a mental note to use the story against Trevor when he next saw him). Thinking of his friends…and trying not to think of them, lest they become ghosts too.

He likes going out into the woods to get food, and water, and fresh air. He wavers there at times, wondering if maybe he could just… leave. He spends more time out there than is strictly necessary.

Sometimes he runs out into the woods—well, more precisely padding, cantering on paws—and other times flies—trying to make sure his tongue can taste freedom, and his wings can snare sunlight, before he turns back.

But he always has to return. Return to the stuffy, putrefied remains of the castle. The air where he hears his parents whisper sweet words that are gone, where memory reconstructed from fairy castles sweet worlds he’s ripped away.

Would it be so hard to just leave?

Surely we can let the poor wandering souls in the woods find refuge. It was a grave after all. Just let the lost rest against the headstones, though they know not whose skeletons lie beneath them.

He leans against Trevor’s tree, and sees a young boy playing on the branches—laughing, free—and smiles…before it becomes gasp and grimace, and he shakes his head, returning to the castle.

Not them too.

He thought he could take it. The grief. The ghosts. The wrath of the gods

But he can’t stay.

Not forever. That is to say, he can’t leave for long. Just to visit town, to see another person or two, to get out of his head, and pray the specters won’t follow him.

He slings his bag over his shoulder, along with the coat he always wore—the one that smells like the campfires he sat at with Trevor and Sypha—and sighs as he walks out the door.

He has another grave to visit.

i played two castlevania games, both from the nintendo gameboy era, so please don’t get mad at me, gamers

details below the cut, but since i’ll be talking about season three, i need to preface this with content warnings for mentions of: graphic violence, rape and sexual violence, racism, and the holocaust

before i get into it, i usually don’t go for alucard-type characters either, but knowing that he was redesigned to be bishounen sexy specifically because the boring, middle aged man look he originally had in the games wasn’t appealing makes me enjoy him. and he’s fun with trevor and sypha

do like:

the voice acting

it’s all good. i can’t think of any characters whose voices were awkward or fit poorly. they don't make sypha’s va use the standard flat affect or false high voice women tend to be assigned, trevor sounds suitably worn out but not monotone, and alucard sounds exhausted but in a sexy way

and the spanish dub is killer, arguably superior

the animation & design

it isn’t full-on artsy, but it’s definitely got a distinctive style that’s easy to look at. the color use and effects are gorgeous. it’s a story set in the medieval era, and the mixture of desaturated and oversaturated elements works so well with that

dracula’s castle and the belmont bunker aren't revolutionary in design, but they didn't need to be. they're suitably creepy and empty, and i enjoyed them

the monsters were unique enough to have obvious different types, and the scene where a monster commits blasphemy in a church by accusing a priest of committing blasphemy was good writing

she shows up to a stranger’s spooky home and scolds him for being rude. she really looked an ancient vampire in the face, told him he had no manners, then had a kid with him. what a phenomenal woman. 11/10, no notes

this ancient, unfriendly vampire let a human woman walk into his home and tell him he’s got no manners. and that made him fall in love with her. just like that. lisa walked in and handed him his ass, and dracula thought “oh i love her”. and when she was killed (more on this in the bad section), he raised literal hell to destroy the world for doing it

speaking of lisa being killed, it fucks me up that it happened because she convinced him to leave the castle and experience the world. he left her alone to see what she loved so much, only to come back and find that the people he’d come to like- the people lisa had loved so much it drove her to help in a way that got her killed- had burned her at the stake. i love a good tragedy, and that’s good tragedy

his love of animals makes him my favorite. normally, i won’t touch anything with this much animal death, but i’m willing to set that aside because hector loves them so much. he’s so sweet and kind, and he loves his monster pets

yes he sided with dracula and has some really fucked up ideas about what constitutes humane treatment of people, and yet i love him. 11/10, but i have a lot of notes

i support him, including his murdering and his decision to support dracula. dracula throwing him out of the castle to save him was so cruel in that it was an attempt at kindness from a man who hated the whole world, but it was against isaac’s wishes

his time with the captain was great

idk enough about islam to know if he's portrayed correctly and haven’t seen any complaints, but given the show’s track record……… i wouldn’t be surprised if it’s not great

very cool. fresh and interesting! hector creating pet friends is cute and heartbreaking. love isaac for his dedication to reducing, reusing, and recycling

season 2’s big battle with all those vampires

the new version of “bloody tears” is phenomenal

this goes back to the animation, but listen……. it's so good. i loved the smoke vampire, and alucard’s fluid wolf transformations. his flying sword looked really good, and incorporating them together? super good to watch. and trevor’s whip?

the type and level of violence are suitable for what it is. it would be weird for a gritty show like this to be bloodless, but i don't think it would work if it were bloody to the extent of a slasher. it's also more clean violence, if that makes sense. you don’t linger just to look at gore; you see it because stabbing someone spills blood. the games weren't about extended, gritty scenes of realistic murder, so the show sticking with quick, slice and dice type fights fit with what i remembered of them

trevor’s whips

trevor’s weapons don’t follow the physics of normal whips, and they shouldn't. they’re heavily stylized and clearly a fantasy weapon, but they still have rules that they (mostly) have to obey. his morning star-whip hybrid in particular is so good 

it’s easy to follow, too. a lot of times, speedy weapons disappear, which is an understandable effect but one i find boring because there’s nothing for me to do. i’m just sitting on my ass with nothing to do

trevor’s whips don’t disappear. they’re fast, but you can always see them. and they have weight! you can see them slow down and gain speed. i don’t need physics to be real; i want movement to be pleasing, and that’s exactly what i get with the whips

don’t like:

fridging lisa

she could have been kidnapped (possibly make dracula think she was dead bc people want to lure out her scary demon husband, idk), then s2 could have ended with her and dracula reuniting as he died. she and alucard go on a trip together to attempt to make amends for the pain dracula wrought in lisa’s name. orrrr she dies a tragic death with him and we’re left to hope that they find each other in the afterlife. do vampires get to go to the afterlife? can alucard reintegrate? can he be happy with his new friends? or will he go back to his crypt and sleep again? will he ever be rediscovered? if so, what will he do? deep questions. i would prefer to cogitate on these instead of experiencing the shitshow that is s3

season 3

they should have ended it with dracula’s death. the quality of storytelling goes down immediately. just plummets. i’m sure there were problems in the first two seasons, but this one is so bad, i genuinely can’t remember

trevor and sypha leave their friend alone in his childhood home where he just killed his father. where they helped him kill his father who, as i’ve said too many times, raised literal hell to get revenge for people burning alucard’s mother to death

yt they don’t talk about alucard. they don’t make any plans to touch base ever again. trevor’s entire family got killed. sypha’s culture, from which she’s now estranged, is family-centric. if ever two people should give a shit about alucard and know why alucard shouldn’t be left on his own, it's them

i don’t need or want lenore. if all she’d done was manipulate hector, i could have lived with that. she’s a villain, so she does bad things. that’s the point. but what she did was a massive escalation. we hadn’t had any sexual violence, and then the last few episodes gave us

the holocaust reference

the imagery at the end of s3 when it’s revealed that the judge has been killing people he’s decided are undeserving to live and collecting their shoes in that barn was chillingly close to images of shoes taken from victims of the holocaust. there's no reason to invoke the holocaust here. it’s unnecessary and in bad taste

Baywatch - Season 1 Episode 4 - The Second Wave

And we’re back with yet another episode of Baywatch, this one titled “Second Wave”, not to be confused with last episode’s title “Heat Wave”.  Whoever comes up with these titles should’ve spaced this a little bit apart.  Just saying.

The Hulu synopsis of this episode is “Eddie must come to terms with his past when he confronts a gang of “surf rats” lead by a former friend from his reform school days.  Trevor begins to doubt his lifeguarding skill when his girlfriend almost drowns because of his arrogance.”

Alright so right away this synopsis gives me one question: What the hell is a surf rat?  Hopefully we find out, but I also want to know who writes the synopsis?  A Hulu employee or are they just taking what was written by someone else?

Predictions: Seems like this episode is going to be pretty Eddie-centric.  We don’t know a whole lot about him so far, except that he’s short, grew up in foster care, and is from the East Coast but never wants to go back.  We also can’t forget that he’s living with Craig and Gina in their storage closet.  Clearly judging by the episode’s description, he’s got a shady past and I’m gonna say that he ends up fighting his old friend.  I’m expecting a little bit of Shauni action too, since she’s been pretty into him with what little screen time she’s had so far.

As far as Trevor goes...he’s a douche, I don’t care if he loses confidence.  But also since when has he had a girlfriend?  10 bucks says the relationship does not last longer than this episode.

The episode opens with some guys doing a "surf sacrifice" on the beach in the middle of the night that involves burning a "virgin” surf board.  No idea why, or even what the point of this scene is.

Cut to Gina, Craig, and Eddie. who are drinking coffee while Gina and Eddie critique Craig's outfit of the day.

At the beach, surf is up, and the surfers from earlier don't appreciate Shauni telling them that it's the swimmers' turn.  One of them crashes into another surfer and is about to start a fight, but Shauni breaks it up.  Eddie runs over to help and one of the surfers recognizes him but Eddie pretends not to know him.

The surfer meets up with Eddie but Eddie tells him to leave.  The guy mentions something about Eddie costing him three years of his life, to which Eddie says they both did their time.  Man, I expected Eddie to have a shady past but did he go to jail?  He looks way too young to have spent time in jail. 

Jill and Mitch run into Trevor, who unsurprisingly says that all of their rules are no fun, and that they need to pull the sticks out of their butts. (Okay he didn't say it, but he definitely implied it).

The surfer from earlier (whose name is Jimmy Roche) somehow figures out where Eddie lives and shows up, tricking Gina into letting him in.  Eddie shows up and it immediately gets tense, with Jimmy subtly’ threatening to tell Gina about his past.  Eddie gets him out of there and warns him to stay away, but Jimmy says it's payback time and "California dreamin' is over." Who talks like that?

Next morning, Trevor's out for a run on the beach and it's revealed that he's dating the daughter of one of the club members.  Her father invites him to a cocktail party on his boat.

At their tower, Shauni tries to get Eddie to talk but he's been silent all day.  He goes on patrol and sees a man drowning.  He tries to save him but Jimmy trips him and Jimmy's friends steal his lifeguard can and hold him there so he can't do anything.  Luckily Shauni is able to get to the drowning man.  Eddie ends up tackling Jimmy just as Craig arrives and pulls them apart.  Jimmy uses it as an excuse to file an official complaint.

Trevor is having a great time at the boat party, schmoozing it up to all the rich people and wearing an absolutely ridiculous bowtie.   Rich girl's father gives Trevor $60 and says that he hired him as a lifeguard for the party, not to be a guest.  He wants to teach his daughter a lesson.

Not one to be out done, rich girl decides to jump off the boat so Trevor can "save" her.  It would have been fine but her boots and clothes are so heavy that she's pulled down and starts to actually drown.  Trevor takes time to strip down to his boxers before jumping in, and saves her.

Eddie is called into Mitch's office for a meeting with Mitch and Captain Thorpe about the complaint that was filed.

Mitch explains that Shauni reported that the guy was blocking him and that Eddie has had problems with him before.  He asks him to be honest, but when Eddie doesn't say anything, he suspends him for 30 days.

Shauni confronts Eddie and demands to know what's going on, but there's no time to explain because it's montage time!! This time it’s of Eddie walking the beach, moping about his suspension, and then going home and boxing in his bedroom.  

That night, Eddie meets Jimmy and friends at a bar and asks to talk but they soon start fighting.  

Eddie ends up getting arrested but Jimmy gets away.  Craig bails him out because he's a good guy, but when he brings him home Mitch is there and with Gina they decide to have a little intervention to get the truth.

Eddie explains they met in a foster home and were friends who used to get into a lot of trouble together.  One day when Eddie was sixteen, they went into a liquor store and Jimmy pulled out a gun and decides to rob the place.  They both got arrested, Eddie was put into a special foster home, but Jimmy spent three years in Juvie and blames Eddie for it.  Mitch unsuspends him as a reward for being honest.

Garner shows up and ruins the party by saying that there are warrants out for Jimmy for attempted murder and armed robbery.  Duh duh duhhhhh

The next morning, Jimmy calls Eddie and says that he'll leave but he needs money first, and if Eddie doesn't give it to him, he'll rob Gina. 

Meanwhile Trevor's "girlfriend"(her name is Lisa) is having trouble breathing and Trevor has to rush her to the hospital.  She has secondary drowning from inhaling sea water.  The nurse explains that that's why county lifeguards always bring in drowning victims even if they seem fine.  Trevor learns a valuable lesson.

Eddie meets Garner to set  up a sting to catch Jimmy at the money hand-off. Jimmy gets wind that something's up though, and sees Garner and a few other undercovers so he decides to bounce.  

Lisa wakes up at the hospital and Trevor apologizes to her. Lisa tells him that she's leaving LA and going to go model in New York to get away from her father. They break up, and there's one prediction correct! They did not last longer than the episode.

Later, Trevor shows up at Baywatch and tries to steal a training manual.  Mitch sees and offers to let him use the weight room, locker room, and ask any questions he has.  He also gives him the training manual.

Shauni and Eddie are closing down their tower when Shauni asks Eddie out to dinner..  He agrees.

Before they can leave, Jimmy and friends lock them into the tower and cut the phone line so they can't call out.  Jimmy throws a Molotov cocktail at the tower and lights the whole thing on fire.  Luckily in the office, dispatch discovers that the phone line has gone dead and tells Craig and Mitch so they can go to the rescue.

Garner shows up on a four wheeler and chases Jimmy around in circles.  Shauni and Eddie manage to jump out of the tower as Mitch and Craig show up to drag them away as the tower collapses.  Eddie tackles Jimmy but refrains from punching him in a stunning show of character growth (sarcasm, if it was me I would've punched him for sure).

The episode ends with Shauni and Eddie hug while their dad's Craig and Mitch, and grandpa Captain Thorpe watch creepily from the side.
