Anyone interested in what I’ve made for the Christmas displays around the house at work this year?!!

So the theme was woodland ball and I made these 3 ‘tree’ dresses!!! Without lighting

With lighting!

This last one I have to confess is in part made from a costume I made 20+ years ago for my A levels (for those that don’t know those are exams in the uk that you used to take at 17/18). The bodice is the most visible part of that! The skirt is a chicken wire frame with a chopped up fake Christmas tree woven into it then fake ivy etc loaded on top!

The bodices of the other two are made from foss-shape and painted and then the skirts are made from a lot of fake foliage and berries and spray painted net!

I love getting to do something fun and creative every year for Christmas at work - anyone in the uk - these are on display to the public at Hinton Ampner until 5 January!!

throwback to that time I made a hoopskirt and decorated it to look like a christmas tree.

faux pine garlands were zip tied to each hoop, then lights were wound around each one. I added bows and tinsel garland, then zip tied on dozens of ornamnets.

it is lined with organza and lame for modesty.

there is a video about how I did it, if you would like more information!

overall 10/10 way to justify buying christmas decorations, would do again.

more photos of this skirt when it was finished!

the bodice was pieced with a triangle front to serve as the top of the "tree" and has ribbon loops stitched along the bottom edge which I zip tied more of the pine garland to so it covers the waistband of the skirt and makes it look like a single piece.

the bodice has boning and bust cups in it and all that jazz (video about it here).

weirdly the most frustrating part of this entire thing was trying to sew very stiff ribbon onto very cheap gloves in parallel lines haha!

#some more screenshots from my hardcore world <3 it's going good #built that tree from the last two pictures today :3 it's no bdubs level of course but i like how it turned out!#i think im slowly getting better at custom trees and building in general! happy #that building on the uhhh 6th image is my favorite so far! it houses my bee farm and it's so cool and vibrant and funky!!! loving it #the building on the 3rd image is also pretty good. it's an inn with a restaurant on the 1st floor and villager housing on the 2nd!#it's cozy in there but on the outide i think it could do with a bit more dress up. that part of the town is still in development so im sure #it'll come together eventually! like. with another house across the street and maybe some banner lines between them it's gonna look great #i also took that screenshot with my normal playing fov and not the low-good-for-screenshots fov so. yknow #welp. that's it for now i think #mining and building and also crafting #<- made the tag for it finally! check it out if you wanna; there's the previous set of screenshots as well #yagotalk
