Where are the mommas at?

I have some serious mom talk that I need to get off my chest. May be a little deep…but here it is.

I sometimes catch myself feeling selfish that I have brought a sweet child in to this scary world. Like we all grew up through the bullying, the heart break, the mean girls, the jealousy, the anxiety, the over analyzing, the liars.

We grow up to be young adults that fall into the rhythm of how things are supposed to go: Fall in love, get married, have kids, live happily ever after. That is how me and my husband always dreamed it would go and that’s how it happened. And you simply forget all the heart break and anxiety that came with being a kid/teen and yet we brought a sweet little one into the world to have to suffer through these things. Because no matter how hard you try its not going to be easy. No matter how nice you are to others, they see it as a weakness, or if you put a wall up, people will do everything they can to tear it down and hurt you.

I know I am looking at the dark side of this, but it is so hard not to. I wouldn’t wish my heart ache on my worst enemy. Yet I bring a child in to the word that I know will have so many hard days and I know I can’t always be there to make things better. But I promise I will do my darndest to try. I have made a promise to myself that I am not going to let her ever think for a second that she is alone in this world. Teach her that things do get easier. Teach her that it doesn’t matter what others think as long as she is happy. I may not always get it right but I will never give up. I will learn from my mistakes and make her a strong independent little girl that can stand up for herself and others! Teach her no one should get left behind. An to love everyone for who they are. It’s a scary world we live in. But if we would help each other out along the way it could be so much easier.

Sorry I got a little off topic, but you get the jist of it.

05/18/21 - I don't even know why I deal with people who don't respect me. Some say, not to take them seriously. They are drunk. I take that shit very seriously! When it is your parent/s that shows you no respect, or talks to you like you're a kid that doesn't know what the hell you're doing, it does not make you feel loved. Growing up, I was never told, I love you or anything like that. Hell, I felt like my mom never liked me. I felt like she had to care for me but I would always envy seeing other kids being hugged, kissed, and loved by their parents. I still yearn for that love and affection as an adult. Parents, please make sure to let your children know that you love them. I promise to do the same when I have my own.

Composting: How To

Starting in 2022, California is mandating that everyone puts composting materials into ones green trash bin. Now, I have to start off by saying that I do not hate this idea. I kind of do so now but not fully? I also will admit that I do not fully utilize my composting materials. But for Cali to tell me to do so, how are they going to mandate it? In December of 2021, there was a strike amongst trash collectors and being able to have one bin last a couple of weeks without getting picked up became...helpful. 

What is Composting? 

Compost is a mixture of ingredients used to fertilize and improve the soil. It is commonly prepared by decomposing plant and food waste and recycling organic materials. The resulting mixture is rich in plant nutrients and beneficial organisms, such as worms and fungal mycelium. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compost) 

What does that mean? When one cooks, if you make eggs save the egg shells in a specific container. If you cut up vegetables, put the leftovers you would typically throw away into a container. I think you are supposed to replant the “leftovers” in ones backyard to help the plants. 

How To Compost:

To prepare to compost, I suggest getting a large container (or multiple containers) to put on your countertop so that when you are cleaning up or prepping, you can put the appropriate ingredients in the allocated locations. If you save your containers from purchases like cookie dough and pasta, those can do nicely until you find what makes sense for you. If you have a bit of budget, try going to your local Ross/TJMaxx/Marshalls and see what you can find. 

I ended up going to dollar tree, as I wanted big enough to hold things while it was lightweight but not so big that a pile sits there long enough to grow mold before you take it outside. With containers at dollar tree and labels...it also saved space, since the space of 3 containers stacked is the space one glass mason like jar would of taken in my kitchen. I labeled them as such: 

Egg Shells, Tea/Coffee, Vegetables/Fruit

Why the separation? If you are just going to toss them in your green container, get one giant mason jar and just empty that before trash day each week. If you are going to use them for not trash conservation purposes...separate them. Coffee grounds and egg shells are good for plants, and if you put vege/fruit bits into the dirt it helps revitalize dirt for possibly new plants. This could open the door to even planting your own food and herbs. 

I think its definitely more of a millennial thing to think of how our everyday actions can help preserve the planet we call home. But its one of the only real “millennial” things about me really. Most of my bathroom stuff, with the exception of toilet paper, is reusable or recyclable. Give it a try and let me know how it goes! Ya know, if you google how to reuse just about anything, there will be a way to get more or give more...always!

I know it looks like a bad pile of crap in need of a serious roof and foundation. But I'm proud of this scrappy old box. I worked so hard for this and lost a lot on the way here all the way to this point. But just as much as any other American citizen deserves to live wherever they want in the U.S. and be happy with what little they have. I also deserve that and should not have to deal with some assholes bullshit just because the spoiled brat has a stick up his ass. I am not going to move despite all the time's I've felt incredibly uncomfortable and miserable and depressed due to the treatment and harassment and abuse I've been through here. I deserve just as much as any other hard working individual to build up my home and my business from the bottom up without looking over my shoulder or worrying about being shot at. I'm just going to take my slow ass self and keep doing the best I can to make this home livable for a family if it kills me. If some non Christian diverce hating purist dumb ass doesn't kill me before then. I don't care if I never even meet someone that I can trust that actually love's me (Hard to trust anyone at all any more.)
