Today is the world diabetes day!
Thank you to Luna, my baby chaos gremlin aka cat, for the backdrop.
There are many forms of diabetes. I have type 1 and the technology, like this pump, makes a huge difference! Most people know about type 2 diabetes and for a good reason. About 90% people who have diabetes have type 2. Hallmarks for it include insulin resistance and other problems with produced insulin. There are others like MODY Maturity-onset diabetes of the young. It acts like type 2 diabetes except in young people. The other is LADA aka Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults. This is often called type 1.5. It’s usually not as aggressive as type 1 diabetes.
I was a young kid when I got diagnosed. I immediately started injections. I’ve been injecting until this spring when I was put on hybrid closed loop technology which means my insulin pump get my blood sugar from a sensor and makes decisions how much insulin to give. After about 25 years, it’s been a welcome change. It’s as close to a holiday from diabetes as I am going to get. I started with long needles and a machine that took a minute to give a blood sugar to wearing a sensor that gives me a reading every five minutes.

I want to thank everyone for their patience on just about everything, whether it be art or rp replies. I've started a new treatment about 3 weeks ago and the side effects are insane. I am doing my best, but until I get adjusted, which might take a bit since its a progressive dosage kind of med, I will be on reduced activity notice.
Not that im super active to begin with but consider this a warning <3 Thank you for understanding! I promise I'm not ignoring everyone, I'm just nerfed as heck right now.

Literally fearing for my friend's life because she's been with a wildly violent boyfriend for 2 years and she made an inconsequential decision after they finally broke up that might get him fired at work and I'm scared what he will do to her if that happens. So much that I'm considering packing my things and going to another state to stay with her for a few weeks.
What people have to say to me? That she's dumb for staying with him for so long. That this wouldn't have happened if she went to therapy. When she's been in therapy for years. Then they say "well, she's not doing it right/her therapist isn't good".
If that's the best thing you have to stay then you should shut up. Also sorry to burst your bubble but therapy is NOT a miraculous solution. It cannot guarantee someone's mental health and high "emotional intelligence" or whatever, it may simply not help at all, or not much. It's a tool. It's tempting to believe it's a magical solution, scientificaly sound, and to blame the patient or the professional if doesn't. Unfortunately, it guarantees nothing. Shut the fuck up.
