no one would expect the hands of an ex-Arbiter to be gentle. perhaps ruthless, efficient, or brutal, but not gentle. yet that is exactly what Binah is when she tends to you, helping you sit up with a delicate touch and holding a teacup to your lips. her voice is soft and calm as always as she watches you sip, words of encouragement slipping out as easily as sorting the never-ending books on her floor, and she's so proud of you when you finish the whole cup, settling your head back down onto the pillow with a soothing hum

she doesn't leave you. once, she tried, having thought that you were asleep, only to be stopped by your hand grasping her wrist and weakly calling her name, breaking her seemingly impenetrable heart. so now she remains by your side, rubbing her thumb gently over the back of your hand and watching you rest. if nightmares ever cloud your mind, hazy with illness, she slips under the covers and pulls you to her chest, massaging your aching muscles and murmuring reassuringly into your ears. it's nice, as she not only gets to comfort and hold you, but also because you'll wake up to her fast asleep by your side, fingers still intertwined with yours

Rex, during the commute back to Coruscant: It's so quiet without the 105th troopers around... Jesse: You're saying that like it's a bad thing? Rex: Hm? Oh, no not at all. I just... Got used to expecting even more trouble than usual is all... Jesse: Well, once we get to Coruscant we'll know how they've been getting along with their 'community service' assignment. Rex: Yeah... Fox is keeping tabs on that while also keeping tabs on when we'll finally be able to pick up a massiff for them. I'm a little nervous to find out what the boys have been up to.

-Several Hours after Touch Down on Triple Zero-

Fox, via holocall: Still no word on the massiff pup, Rex. Rex: Oh, yeah I know. You'd leave a message if you had anything new on that front. I just uh, wanted to check on how the 105th veterans were dealing with their current assignment. Fox: ...Well they haven't set the Madam's brothel on fire, if that is what you're worried about. Rex: Fox: They're doing ok Rex. I have some of my boys keeping tabs on the 105th men, and they're excellent as security detail. Seem to be receptive to the Madam's crew, since they're the least threatening people on Coruscant. Rex: And they haven't been... Instigating fights? Fox: Negative. All is well... Although I do hope the 'breeder' comes through soon, because while they seem to be more comfortable with the Madam's crew, I've been informed that they still seem to have issues trusting each other. A pet project like training their own therapy animal should help them bond more readily. Rex: I hope so too... Vode that can't trust other vode are a risk to themselves and others. And after everything they've been through, they deserve to at least be able to trust that they have each other's backs. Fox, somewhat melancholic: Yeah...

Hob, who has seen the best but also the very worst of humanity again and again, and for whom something just snaps when he finds Dream in Burgess' basement. Dream, who has always had an ambivalent relationship with humanity and who, with a bit of a nudge in the opposite direction than canon, might be pushed to bitter caution. Both of them starting off just a little bit unhinged about the other's safety post-Burgess, and having no one around them, really, to stop them from becoming worse.

Dream who sends nightmares to people who so much as mildly annoy Hob, and eventually sends nightmares to keep an eye on Hob, full stop. Hob, who's actually quite touched, what do you mean it might be a bit unhealthy? Who starts out by making sure people in the New Inn or around him know to keep their distance from Dream, who's quite willing to pick a fight (and hide a body) of anyone who looks at Dream the wrong way. Who grows on the inhabitants of the Dreaming so much that eventually, they are quite happy to listen to him, too, when he tells them to protect their boss even when it doesn't seem necessary. Even when said boss doesn't ask them to.

Just, Dream and Hob who become increasingly protective of each other, who become increasingly willing to do anything to keep each other safe, and if that means burning the whole world down? Well, then let it burn. Who go on a downward spiral so slow, by the point anyone really notices it's way too late to disentangle them from each other, and their ruthless devotion to no one but themselves. Dreamling who are ready to kill and abuse their power for each other, and as such are balancing each other so much that it is almost impossible to stop them without killing them both.

Just, Dreamling as 'us against everyone else.' They sure both are obsessive enough for this; all it really needs is the realisation that the other is just as bad.

thank you so much!! and i ABSOLUTELY agree with you on hypersexual Kon (truly i just adore characters with grooming/rape trauma like Kon coping through the lense of hypersexuality) and even if YJ is queerplatonic, Kon has made his way through most of them. including Greta. he's creative he'd find a way. probably involving TTK. bc TTK in sex is a thought i have daily. endless potential for using it to basically turn someone's body into a living fleshlight he can manipulate from the inside out- specifically have a TimKonBart idea in my head about that where Kon coaches Bart through sex, since Bart is a speedster with a bonkers refractory period who struggles to feel satisfied, and Tim is caught between them getting used to get Bart off with Kon using TTK to manipulate Tim's body. fun times. fun ideas.
