Today I was reminded about how much people hate Taylor Swift and it made me think of a memory I had. Once in high school, I was mumbling a TS song in class and a row of boys sat behind me. Mind you, they HATED Taylor Swift, to the point where they would mock me and my friends for listening to her, but one of them told me, "You should be a songwriter, that's some nice lyrics you sang." I was in shock. This guy, who has outwardly showed disgust to TS when I talked about her, is saying that her lyrics are meaningful and nice?? This is proof that people only hate TS because it's a trend to. If they really listened to her songs, and I mean REALLY listened, they would not have any reason to hate her.

It strikes me that Ed knowing Stede wants to hear “You wear fine things well” from him is massive growth. He understands now that Stede is not as steady as he seems, that he needs reassuring. He realizes Stede treasures and relies on his opinion, not just of Stede as a pirate, but of Stede as a man. He understands Stede gets panicky and is helped by comfort and praise and gentleness as much as he is. He sees that he has something to give Stede not just as a captain but as a lover.

I think there's a kind of fear that always comes with being in love. When letting someone else hold so much of you all at once. They could let you fall at any second if they wanted to. It's still so unbelievable to me how extreme Dusknoir can be. He's a guy who will impulsively decide to rescue a pair of explorers he has never met for no reason (except maybe some superficial after-the-fact justification like "oh this will make me look even nicer", which doesn't count) and his first instinct when his temporal ally is about to get hit by falling ice is taking the blow for him, but he still lies and manipulates with ease, relishes flaunting his victory over his enemies at the cost of efficiency, decides to let the planet rot and decay as long as he keeps his own life and plans a horrible scheme where he will murder someone and puppet his corpse to attack his closest friends.
