I love the humanity hotline stuff! It similar to a tiktok series called Orion's belt insurance which is about the insurance claims that come from humans actions. You may find some inspiration there. Also an idea for one:
I have a Human with a broken forelimb and while I was surprised to learn that they can in fact repair bones, and that this is not a permanent debilitation but the fact remains they insist on working normally... they refuse to remain in the medbay. Don't they need to use healing comas and be protected? Will my human remain broken?
Transcripts from the Humanity Hotline 8
A couple people have mentioned Orion’s Belt Insurance, and they’ve recently been cross-posted to YouTube, so I’ve finally been able to watch them (I refuse to get TikTok on principle). They are fantastic!
-----
Operator: “Hi, my name is Mindy. How may I help you today?”
Caller: “I have a Human with a broken forelimb, and while I was surprised to learn that they can, in fact, repair bones, and that this is not a permanent debilitation, the fact remains they insist on working normally... they refuse to remain in the medbay. Don't they need to use healing comas and be protected? Will my human remain broken?”
O: “Alright, this is not unusual for humans. To clarify, you mentioned a broken forelimb. Has the injured limb been set and immobilized?”
C: “According to the report I received, our medical staff performed a ‘closed fracture reduction’ and immobilized the limb with a ‘plaster cast’. Following the procedure, the human disappeared from medbay when, quote, ‘I turned away for two seconds,’ end quote, and was later found at their usual workspace.”
O: “Okay, if only one limb was affected and has been properly set and immobilized, it sounds like their injury is not serious enough to warrant bedrest or stasis-related healing procedures.”
C: “So they will still heal? But wouldn’t they heal faster in a coma?”
O: “Actually, moderate exercise can help speed up the healing process by maintaining better blood circulation and nutrient flow throughout the body. Too little physical activity can cause muscles to atrophy, resulting in loss of strength and/or movement.”
C: “Humans need to exercise to heal? Then, should they stay in the gym for the duration of their recovery?”
O: “No, while some exercise is good, humans need to balance it with rest. Additionally, since exercising produces sweat, working out too hard too quickly can negatively impact the cast. Their usual gym routines will also need to be adjusted to focus on exercises that won’t use or risk their broken limb before it’s healed enough.”
C: “So they shouldn’t move too much, but also shouldn’t rest too much. But how much, exactly, should they be doing?”
O: “There isn’t one correct answer to that, as it depends on many factors. I can put you in contact with a specialist to help determine your human’s ideal diet, workload, and exercise routines during their recovery.”
C: “Why must humans be so complicated? Thank you for your help, Mindy. I’ll send this information to the medical staff.”
O: “You are very welcome. Is there anything else I can help you with today?”
C: “Not at the moment, but I’m sure there will be as soon as I end the transmission.”
O: “Alright, best of luck, and I’ll be happy to help again in the future!”

STATION NEBULA-03 : RESCUE MISSION
SPACERIDERS POPPY PLAYTIME AU made by @onyxonline
AUTHORS NOTE : since the au is spaced theme it keeps reminding me of that fnaf-like alien game Alien Blackout sooo yeah. sorry if it’s bad, i’m trying to get back into writing.
OC(s) : Poneriateras/“Fetidteeth”s & Prof. Armaros.
Tumblr media
It was a pretty uneventful day, basic patrols were the only thing being sent out, and poppy was late for a meeting. again. Hoppy was considering ditching the meeting all together despite Crafty’s insistence on staying, since it may be important, and Catnap was sleeping on the table. It took 20 minutes for Poppy to come online, and she seemed.. nervous. It was odd, since nothing important was happening as far as the group was aware— Hoppy’s complaints about her taking long were instantly stopped when she noticed her expression. Poppy explained how she had recieved a distress signal from the Station Nebula-03, while it was hushed she was able to hear it, and had to amplify the sound, so that’s why it took so long. Dogday was about to ask what the message said, but decided against it, so Poppy started to play the signal received to brief on the situation.
“This is Professor Armaros Evans, I need urgent extraction from Nebula-03’s research station. If you pick up this signal, proceed with EXTREME caution. There’s… an alien organism loose on the station. It is deadly. Repeat: Deadly!”
Tumblr media
From the vents, the sound of a ship docking on the station was carried throughout, alerting whatever was left on it..
“Which camera is it? Come on..”
Armaros mumbled as they flicked through the cameras that were up and working, landing on the entraces camera as they saw a crew of four enter, their vitals appearing on the screen as they stepped inside.
“Yes, finally…” He breathed out in relief, their heart practically jumping in joy at the sight of rescue. They fiddled with the panel for a moment, turning the microphone on so the crew could hear them.
“Hello? This is Armaros Evans. Can you hear me?”
“Uhm.. Hello? I’m Hoppy, one of the spaceriders here. We have —”
He quickly cut her sentence short. “Not so loud! We are all in danger!” They whisper yelled through the microphone.
A loud thud was heard, causing Hoppy to turn.
“What the—?”
Almost on beat, a large, black creature came jumping down from the vents from the right door, where Hoppy and Crafty stood. It let out a horrific wail, causing Hoppy to quickly back away and Craft to fall down on her ass, her hands ready to sheild herself from the attack. Only for the doors to quickly close before the creature could lunge at the group.
“What the hell was that thing?!” Hoppy shouted in surprise.
“Didn’t you get my transmission? This place is a death trap!”
“We.. did get one,” an orange dog, seemingly the leader said. “But our ship was damaged by the station, it fired at us for some reason.. The station mainframe cleared us to dock for repairs.” He explained.
“I’m Craftycorn, a space ranger too.. And yeah, the ship was damaged by the stations fire, Hoppy was able to get us to safety before any major damage was done.. The ship can’t go half a day without another set of scrubbers.”
“Hoppy Hopscotch, I flew us here. We came for you, but we need those parts before we can leave.”
Armaros sighed behind the microphone. “There’s an engineering bay close by, so you should find some spares there. I’ll open the door now.” Slowly, the door in-front of the group opened, allowing them to proceed further.
“Hoppy and Crafty, fetch the parts please. I will stay in the shuttle with Catnap.”
“Figures..” The rabbit mumbled, walking further into the station with Crafty.
“I’m afraid we’re also on the clock here. Thanks to trigger happy security, the grid was damaged. I’ve wired up some solar panels, but their output is limited. They’re only good for 8 minutes before they shit down to charge…”
“So let’s make them count. What do we do, Evans?”
“Take a left to that control room, then bypass the lockdown to get to engineering.”
The two carefully made their ways into the control room, trying to be quiet as they could on the metal floors while also hurrying. They stopped as they reached the panel, Crafty taking the lead.
“Okay, disengaging the lockdown…”
“Where you folks holed up, Armaros?”
“It’s.. just me now, and I’m in the ducts, using a maintenance access point.”
“E..everyone else is dead? My god..”
“The pods were launched prematurely. Some may have made it, I don’t really know.”
“Got it!”
The two looked forward as the doors finally opened.
“Careful now, it’s fast.”
“So what the hell is ‘it’?”
“An alien organism. It lives to kill.”
A foreign voice chimmed in. “A station of this size, devastated by a single entity? Seems unlikely, no matter how ferocious it is.”
“Panic did most of the work, but don’t underestimate this thing, I’ve seen it do worse.”
“Wait— You’ve seen it somewhere else?”
“I’ve encountered these creatures before.. I’m still having nightmares. Ever hear of Mevastopel station?”
“Yes, there was an accidental detonation as it was being decommissioned.”
“Accidental my ass…” He mumbled as Crafty & Hoppy finally made their way in the engineering bay.
“Let’s find those parts and get out of here. Evans, keep an eye on the cameras.”
The two searched the bay thoroughly while Armaros flipped through the cameras.
“They’re not here.. Damnit!”
“There’s a note: “Took the scrubbers, installing them soon. Greg..”
“Thanks for getting us killed, Greg!”
“We can track them down. All service orders can be accessed from the administrative hub.”
“You’ll be needing my credentials then.. Catnap, with me.”
“There’s a door right next to the docking lounge, but the others should return to the shuttle first.”
“Got it.”
There was loud thuds coming from the vents, alerting Armaros as they looked up from the cameras.
“I.. I think I hear it coming.” They said as they looked to the opened duct, the creature quickly crawling towards them causing to scream, closing the vent in the nick of time. The creature banged on it as Hoppy’s voice was heard from the panel.
“Armaros! Hey Evans, are you okay..?”
“Don’t shout, we’ve made too much noise already.” They said as the panel rebooted.
“l had to route all the energy to the duct access, it’ll come back on soon. I’m trying to keep a fix on it with the cameras and motion trackers… But I’ve only got this small portable unit hooked up to an access point. Crafty, what are you doing?”
“U..uhm.. being lost. Kinda panicked there. Can you give me some directions?”
Armaros sighed, finding her on the panels map and directing her back to the entrance.
“Thanks, Armaros.” She sighed in relief.
“Don’t rely on me guiding you all the time. That creature tracks human voices, and those REALLY travel through the ducts. Also no running, if you can avoid it.”
“Right.. Got it.”
“That devils close-“ Hoppy’s voice cut through the conversation, causing Armaros to direct him to hide as they went through the cameras and did their best to direct the two back to the entrance, Dogday and Catnap going in their place as Armaros ordered them two to move it, closing the door behind them once inside to protect the two from the creature in case it came from behind.
“The admin hub isn’t too far, but I’ll need to move to a new access point, i’ll let you know once I’m connected again.”
“Before you go.. tell me, have you worked here for long?”
“The crew pulled me out of a bad situation and brought me here actually. But.. when I came out of hypersleep, most of them were already dead. Did you know what they had cooking here?”
“Are you suggesting the Spaceriders created that creature?”
“No, but this one was born here all right. But we can talk about it after. For now, less chatter.”

ficletvember 2024 - day 27
thronebreaker scifi cyborg!reynard au part 2
After being sent away from Meve's service, a cybernetically-enhanced Reynard reboots in a repair bay after suffering a critical failure.
Reynard's system comes back online in slow pulses--brain stem, nerve endings, vital signs, extremities. As his vision clicks on, he fails to recognize the dingy repair bay he reclines in, and as ever, his first thought as he wakes is of Meve.
Though he's yet to remember the details, he knows his body must have finally suffered some catastrophic failure, leaving her and her forces vulnerable and resources diverted to seeing him taken for repair.
His short-term memory bank clicks as it reboots, and he remembers–
Meve's face contorted with fury and hurt. Gascon, standing with head bowed as a newly-revealed traitor, subdued and regretful. Reynard, having tried to salvage the issue of his own treachery saying–
“It would contradict my base directive to be anything but devoted to th' royal family. My transmissions to Villem were intended to protect him. Not to aid Nilfgaard or to undermine our cause, Your Grace.”
“Your… base directive?”
“My programming, Your Majesty. I could not betray you if I tried.”
Reynard had not expected the severity of her reaction to that explanation, her rage, her stricken expression. And then, she'd turned her back and called to a soldier outside the room to have them escorted away, him and Gascon both, warning them never to return.
After that, his memory splinters, lost to the jarring misery that had interrupted his processes. He remembers hating Gascon, hating Nilfgaard, hating his own augmented body. For all his enhancements and systems installed out of devotion to her, not one of them meant a thing if he was not allowed to be at her side.
Driven by the loyalty written into his very being, he ceaselessly trailed behind their party despite his worsening condition, just in case he was needed after all.
How he’s ended up in the repair bay, he's uncertain, but a quick system check shows he's had quite a few significant repairs completed, ones he'd put off far too long. The place is cluttered and stained, clearly not Imperial at least, so he hasn’t been captured by Nilfgaard.
Gascon snores beside him, propped uncomfortably in a chair like this is an ordinary medbay, sitting at Reynard's sickbed.
More memories click into place. Gascon trailing him as he trailed the partisans. Arguing with him, so angry his joints hurt, or maybe that had been the corrosion catching up to him, his body rattling apart more and more over long days as he cared for it less and less, inevitably suffering the critical failure that led him here.
Reynard has blurry memories, crackling with static, of Gascon dragging along the wreckage of his usless body, cursing him and his stubborn pride and his choice to augment himself with the heaviest damn plate armor possible, and then everything washes out to the quiet of a lost signal between his mind and body.
Gascon looks small in the chair beside him, in part because he's not wearing his usual pointed cowl. His hair is a tangle of dark curls, and Reynard is surprised to see the cool metal of cybernetics interrupt the skin at the back of his neck from shoulder to ear. The handiwork is clean and high quality, not the stuff of underground salvage yards.
The noise as he disconnects from diagnostic cables wakes the sleeping man, and he topples from his chair, lurching up to grip the arms of Reynard's repair support.
“Ah, you've finally rebooted. Feel good as new then?” Gascon asks, rubbing at his eyes and yawning.
Reynard thinks to asks where am I? What happened and how long's it been? Have you kept tabs on the location of the Queen's forces? Is all well with them? And most pressingly, who exactly are you?
“You have enhancements,” he blurts out, touching the metal of his own ear.
“Oh,” says Gascon with a nervous laugh. “Suffered a fever as a child and lost my hearing. Got some others as well, none so obvious as yours.”
He touches the inside of his wrist and a panel of convincing faux-skin lifts to reveal tidy circuitry. Why hide such a thing? Reynard has long thought he was the only augmented soldier left in Meve’s service, the rest having played a part in the betrayal in Lyria.
“Then you–”
Reynard stares. He doesn't really know Gascon at all, knows the treacherous reasons he joined Meve in the first place but not why he looked so pained as all was revealed, not why he followed Reynard or dragged his broken down body here. Can't explain why a slum-dwelling, flea-ridden terrorist would have augmentations unique to the wealthiest upper crust among them.
“Who are you?” he asks.
“Brossard's th’ name,” says Gascon with a little salute. He can't quite fake his usual easy smile. “Last of my family, I suspect. All th’ rest were– well, you were there, weren't you?”
He’d been one of many who raided and shut down the Brossard’s complex, King Reginald unwilling to risk allowing even the family's serving drones to remain operational, given the threat of their advanced technology leveraged against the crown.
“Decommissioned,” says Reynard.
“Aye, big, stuffy word for wiped out.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Nah. Bygones. I'd have grown up some snot-nosed brat who inherited war machines. Better off a stray. People get touchy for good reason when they see my tech.”
“Sorry,” Reynard says again, lamely. “And I am sorry you had to drag my dead weight here.”
“You big fuckin’ lug.” Gascon knocks his breastplate with a fist. It rings hollow. “You're lucky I know every decent mechanic in all th’ Northern cities, ‘specially the slums. Granted, we’re borrowing this one. Poor fellow got conscripted into Nilfgaard’s forces. Left in a hurry, looks like. I managed to scrounge together th’ repairs myself. If your damn stubborn pride hadn’t gotten in th’ way, you could’ve sorted this earlier.”
“I live to serve th’ Queen,” Reynard says.
“You hardly could have helped her swat a fly in your state.”
“Is she–”
“Not far. We’ll catch up. Don’t worry your big metal head about it.”
A rush of relief floods through him, along with an itchy restlessness to return to his vigil watching from afar.
“Though not sure why you lied to her. Your loyalty programming's a scrap of code easily overridden by basic survival instinct.”
“I’d not override it. Not if Her Majesty was at risk.”
“You foolish, soppy, lovesick bastard,” says Gascon fondly. “I'd wring your armored neck if it wouldn’t break all my fingers right off.”
Gascon’s still got repairs to finish, little things to recalibrate. The workshop may be a mess, but it’s outfitted with plenty of supplies that suit his enhancements.
As Gascon's clever fingers fiddle with a control panel that opens at his back, Reynard feels his exposed skin warm through in ways he hasn't in years. Freshly-installed sensors light up along his plating. Each small touch as Gascon stands behind him to recalibrate the sensitivity of his system makes him feel alight, floating in a fog of pleasant sensation.
Reynard feels a rushing surge of echoing fondness for this strange man, a heat that thrums through his circuitry. It feels suspiciously like someone's dialed up his physical emotional response.
“Ha! I knew you could blush. You've gone pink, Reynard. Oh don't fuss, give me a moment. So much was shot, I had to rollback some of your bits to factory default settings. Easy fix.”
Some time passes, and Reynard drifts, stiff and silent.
“Have you blown a fuse? Reynard?”
“I'm–”
Shuttering the open control panel, he turns and lets his hands fall on Gascon’s upper arms. He’s shivery and overwhelmed with sensation, needing something he can’t seem to put words to. He's had his remaining operational nerve sensors dialed down so low for so long that to feel the warmth of body heat under his hands is far too much.
“Would you–” His metal fingers flex, unused to softening their strength so as not to bruise. “I need–”
Brow furrowed, Gascon slowly draws him wordlessly into an embrace, arms tucked over his broad shoulders, face against his neck.
“Not a big, unfeeling robot after all,” Gascon says, then softer, “though I never thought so myself.”
It takes some moments for calibration to kick in, for the intensity to ease, but Reynard clings a while longer.
“There now,” says Gascon as Reynard leans back, face no longer burning. “Happens to th’ best of us. Can’t wait to tell Meve how bright you blush.”
“She’ll take us back, you think?” He doesn’t mean to ask the desperate question. It’s absurd. To think either of them would be forgiven. He would advise her against it, were he still in her good graces.
Gascon grins. Reynard knows him well enough now to see the cracks of uncertainty behind his loud confidence.
“Maybe so. Maybe not.” He shrugs. “Not got much more to lose than I already have either way.”
Reynard realizes that he’s still petting at the seams of the cybernetic metal at the nape of Gascon’s neck.
They’re not the same by any stretch of the imagination, but in that moment, they feel joined by a very similar thread. It leads them back to the same place, trailing the footsteps of a disgraced Queen.

Dear Sephiroth: (a letter to a fictional character, because why not) #175
I don't have enough sleep. I was up a bit too late last night, listening to a friend vent about various things. It was good and I regret nothing, but still my brain is a little wobbly today. That's also fine. I am looking forward to going to bed, though.
…I get to sleep in a nice, warm, safe bed. You haven't slept in a bed in a long time, right? Not since "that time", as you had once put it, yeah? I feel sad in response to that; how many years has it been for you? I wonder…
…Well. If you find yourself in my neighborhood, we have extra beds. The one in the art room is nice and big, and obviously you could have it all to yourself. It's got nice pillows and warm fluffy blankets and a giant fuzzy orca plush named Bubbles if you need something to squish. And no one would bother you, except for maybe our cats, because they like new people and they would likely demand scritches. Our cats would probably like you a lot, actually…
I made a tea today. This time, it was black tea mixed with mint tea and little bits of crushed peppermint candy. The swirls propagated quickly from the tea ball - almost too quickly to capture them!! But I mostly managed:
Tumblr media
It resolved into a lovely ruby red color that was fascinating to watch the cream swirl through:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I went to therapy today because it's Tuesday. But since M's car had to be taken to get repairs due to engine coolant problems, and J's car is a manual transmission that I cannot yet drive, J had to get me to the building an hour early, and then I ended up needing to stay there for two hours after therapy was done with. But I don't mind; I brought a book that's all about OBEs and I read up to page 149 today, which isn't bad out of 358 pages. I dunno if anything will come of it, but I don't mind trying to find out.
I took a nap shortly after I got home. I tried some of the things I learned from the book, and I was surprised to find that my body felt weird and tingly and kinda wobbly, but nothing happened because I ended up falling asleep instead. I was probably too tired. Oh well.
When I woke up, J asked me to accompany him to some meeting that involves people who are into airplanes. It was a cute enough place, and the people seemed friendly enough, and one of the older ladies there recognized my Eevee hat because she plays Pokémon Go. I directed her to some of my favorite games (Let's Go, and Scarlet) and to a few of my favorite movies (The ones with Mewtwo and the one with Entei).
On the way home, I got a couple pictures of the sunset for you; I hope you'll like these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Hey, Sephiroth? Do you like sunsets? Or do you like the dawn better? Maybe someday you'll tell me; if it turns out that you like dawn better, maybe I'll start getting up early so I can take pictures...
...My brain is soup and I don't have a whole lot more to write about. So I'm going to end this one here. Maybe I'll go to bed early. Or maybe not. I guess we'll see...
I love you. I'll write again soon. Please stay safe...

REBELS REWATCH
S2E4 — RELICS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC
It is daylight. The modified AT-TE transport lumbers along the barren plains, smoke billowing from one of the Phantom’s engines. Sabine stands at its doorway, helmet on, and notes, “The probe hit us pretty badly. Repairs are gonna take a little while longer.” Inside the transport, Kanan responds, “We don’t have much time. No telling when the Empire will get here. We’ve got to get off the surface.” Sabine leans out of the Phantom, lowers her rangefinder, focuses on the fast-approaching monster of a sandstorm, and says, “Well, the Empire’s not our only problem. There’s a storm coming up behind us.” Kanan reminds her, “If the Empire gets here before we take off, the storm will be the least of our problems.” Behind Kanan, Rex holds up a data card containing “the coordinates of every Republic base, —” Ezra turns around to face the veterans. “—separatist installation, pirate hideout, and smuggler’s den in the Outer Rim.” Rex hands the card to Ezra. Wolffe helpfully adds, “Plus a few Mandalorian bases that they’ve forgotten about.” (This statement might appear to some to be insignificant, as it is information that the Spectres can use. Mandalore is a place. There are so many places. But the fact that Wolffe is specifically addressing Ezra while making this point, and at the same time making it sound like just a regular statement someone with info might say, is saying something, considering that Sabine is a Mandalorian, and that Ezra appears to be smiling when Wolffe provides that bit of info.) Ezra is grateful for the requested information: “Thank you, Captain. Sure you won’t come with us?” Zeb concurs, but Rex tells the teenager, “Yeah. Like I said, our war’s over, kid. Don’t much care to get mixed up in another. Oh, and say hello to Commander Tano for me.” Ezra, however, is rightfully worried, though not for himself: “But the Empire’s on its way, and they will find you.” Rex notes that he, Gregor, and Wolffe can “take care of ourselves.” Kanan comms Hera to let her know that he, Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb would be “down here a while longer.” Hoping for “some good news”, he asks, “Has the Empire showed up yet?” She replies saying that she’s busy with repairs and that Chopper hasn’t found anything untoward yet.
Hera tells Kanan that an ISD has just dropped out of hyperspace, and that she’s “gonna power down so they can’t scan me. Once I finish my repairs, I’ll come get you. Good luck down there.” Back on the transport, Rex informs the crew about the ISD’s protocols, saying that if the TIE fighters go by the book, they would perform searches “based on our last confirmed position”. Gregor isn’t too positive, and says that there is an “incoming Imperial transmission.” Ezra turns around. Apparently it was a return call, no thanks to Wolffe. Kanan maintains his distrust of clones, but Ezra frowns, and tells Wolffe to “just get rid of ‘em.” Apparently the call was from Kallus with a warning. And all too soon, an explosion rocks the transport. Ezra and everyone else inside looks up to where the noise could have come from. The main door opens, and Sabine comes rushing in: “They found us.” Ezra is not surprised: “Guess that search pattern paid off.”
They head to the exterior of the transport. Sure enough, TIE fighters are firing upon the transport; Ezra, standing behind Rex, is near panic: “We’re sitting mynocks on this thing!” He rushes up the ladder, and Rex orders Wolffe to perform evasive maneuvers.” The action momentarily knocks Ezra off-balance, but as always, time is not of the essence. Sabine leads Zeb, Kanan, and Ezra into a charge, saying, “Hurry, he’s coming around the another pass.” She heads for the front of the transport, while Ezra and Kanan remain by the Phantom, sabers at the ready. Ezra literally leaps into action, determined to do his part, but Kanan instructs him to “protect the Phantom.” The teenager turns back around, points with his saber and asks, “What about the walker?” Kanan responds that it could probably withstand some damage. Ezra heeds the instruction and jumps back to his previous spot, saber up in defense. For her part, Sabine takes aim with a large borrowed rifle and fires several times. While Zeb fires repeatedly with a rotary cannon, Ezra tries to fend off several heavy-duty shots from above. Behind him, Rex and Gregor arrive. Rex provides some advice to Zeb, while Gregor seems to enjoy this, noting that he hasn’t had this much fun being shot at since the good old days. Sabine retorts: “Yeah? Well, it happens to us every day.” Ezra turns around and addresses Rex and Gregor: “Why doesn’t someone man the big gun?” Rex advises that doing so “in this situation” would be unwise, and tosses his bazooka to Gregor, who shoulders the bazooka, takes aim, and fires into the path of the TIE. The TIE goes up in flames. Ezra turns to Rex, telling him, “You know, we’d make a good team if we all fought together.” Kanan still harbors deep-seated distrust, disagrees, and says that their first priority right now is to possibly outrun the approaching storm. He informs Sabine that “we need the Phantom to fly.” She gets “on it” right away.
A short time passes, and Sabine continues tinkering away at the Phantom’s interior. Outside the auxiliary craft, Ezra is sitting in the AT-TE’s gunner’s chair behind the big gun. Clearly, he is curious and also enjoying himself a bit too much at seeing how the thing works, and doesn’t notice Rex until the veteran steps closer. Sheepish, Ezra apologizes: “Uh, sorry. Um, I’m in your seat.” Rex takes no offense, and instead points out, “The traverse controls are over here on the left, and the elevation’s on the right.” Ezra wonders if this is so; Rex nods. Under Rex’s supervision, Ezra follows instructions and maneuvers the cannon slightly, and asks the veteran, “So, um, what was it like to fight in the Clone War?” Rex says, “I don’t think the fighting ever got to Lothal.” (It never did, as far as the audience is concerned.) “I tell ya, war was never dull. The general I fought with was among the greatest of the Jedi.” Ezra smiles. Rex continues, “I trusted him with my life more times than I can count.” He sighs. “And I tried my best to keep that trust.” Nearby, Sabine finishes up with her internal repairs, and announces, “All right. With any luck, we can get outta here soon.” Ezra turns around and tells her, “We can’t just leave Rex, Wolffe and Gregor here.” Rex notes, “Well, the Empire is here because of us.” (It’s a simple statement that means, on a surface level, that the Empire has found them because of Wolffe (well, kind of, then they took collective responsibility), but on a more meta level, Rex might have admitted, without meaning to, that he and the other clones are the very reason (well, the sub-reason) why the Empire existed (“here”, he said) in the first place. So yeah, the Empire is “here” because of the clones. That’s a scary thought.) “We’ll deal with the consequences,” he continues. Zeb hears something, and Wolffe points out the walkers in the distance. Ezra turns back around and sees them too. Rex and Gregor discuss what they see on the walkers in the distance, but Ezra, highlighting the urgency of the situation, tells them, “I’m glad you guys are so excited, but those—” He points at the horizon. “—giant death machines are on their way to blow us to bits!” Rex comes up the ladder and instructs Wolffe to “set vector two-niner-zero.” Kanan is confused: “Wait, you’re just gonna turn and run? Just like that?” Rex responds, saying that if there’s a “better idea”, he’s all ears. Kanan thinks that clones love to fight; Rex agrees, “but on my terms,” he says. Rex instructs Wolffe to turn 180 degrees.
Sabine steps out of the Phantom, swipes her hand across her forehead, and says of the auxiliary ship, “Kanan, I’m not sure how far we’ll get, but I think she’ll fly.” Kanan responds, saying that it’s better than nothing, and comms Zeb: “We’re going now.” Rex disagrees, saying that it’s “Too late.” Ezra also comes to the same conclusion: “He’s right, Kanan. They’ll shoot us down.” Kanan then wonders how hiding in a sandstorm “be any better”; Sabine tells him, “Well, the storm will scramble the scanners. We’ll all be blind.” Rex agrees, and points out that “a Jedi won’t.” Kanan reluctantly agrees, and orders everyone to head inside the transport. Sabine closes the Phantom’s hatch door and follows Kanan down, as does Ezra, and Rex behind him too.
In the sandstorm. Everyone is obviously indoors in the transport. Ezra points out, “We’re not gonna be able to hide in this storm forever.” Sabine responds, describing the AT-AT walkers: “Those things are practically impervious to blasters, but they have one weak point in their armor, the neck.” (That would be something Sabine would know from her Academy days, because it’s clear nobody else in the transport would know that.) Gregor says that “one well-placed shot” should damage it beyond usability; Rex is uncertain, but thinks that they might only get “one shot” at this. Zeb has no clue how to “shoot something we can’t see”, his reason being that he doesn’t even know “where the enemy is”. Kanan offers a piece of advice, which Ezra pays attention to: “You don’t always have to see something to know where it is. If you’re willing to trust me, I can get us that shot.” Rex says that he “always” trusts his general. Kanan reaches out, and advises that the transport be stopped. Ezra is silent but watches Kanan utilize the Force to know the surroundings. Kanan instructs Wolffe to “circle left” and then to make a “full stop”, but notes that they’re surrounded. Ezra’s in disbelief: “What?!” Rex realizes Kanan’s ploy — putting them all in the middle of being surrounded — is “crazy, but it’s probably our best chance”. Sabine, however, is more cautious: “Once we fire, we’ll reveal our location. If we miss, it’s all over.” Gregor volunteers to make the first shot, but Kanan announces that “Ezra should take the shot.” Ezra is unsure, scratches the back of his neck, and wonders if Kanan should do it instead. Rex agrees with Kanan, saying that they “need one Jedi up there manning the cannon and another Jedi down here to lead us out of this mess. You are the only ones who can see in this storm.” Ezra looks up at Rex, feeling burdened with the weight of the task. Rex turns around and says, “Sabine, spot him.” Sabine nods, turns around, and puts her helmet on. Ezra follows her. (It’s kind of funny how all the adults in the room are completely okay and willing to send the only two teenagers out in a sandstorm; it would makes sense for Sabine to go out there because she has her helmet, her armor, she’s protected and all that, but not Ezra, if only because he does not have armor to protect him. But it does make sense that Ezra is the one to man the cannon since he was curious about it earlier, and that Kanan is the relatively more experienced one (his Padawan status aside) and so he guides Ezra and the team. It would not make much sense for Kanan to man the cannon and Ezra stay inside, if only because Ezra is not that mature and knowledgeable yet.) Luckily, Rex tosses Ezra a helmet to borrow. Ezra straightens up, smiles, tucks the helmet under his arm, and heads out.
Outside. The wind whips the sand up at gale speed. Sabine, though fully armored, lifts an arm to shield her helmeted face, and steps forward. Behind her, Ezra does the same, but loses his balance. (Whether this is done on purpose or is purely by accident, nobody knows. If Ezra had chosen to lose balance, that would give him an excuse to let Sabine catch him. And that’s kind of funny because if it was purely by accident, it would not have made much sense because Ezra is not a lightweight. It could be just because the helmet is a bit big for him and so he can’t quite see out of it.) Sabine steps behind him, guiding him forward: “I gotcha! I gotcha! Come on!” Ezra gets into the gunner’s seat, and Sabine tells him, “Don’t miss.” Ezra shrugs and lightly retorts, “Hey, I never miss.” He receives a instruction from Kanan via the helmet comm: “There’s a walker somewhere…around point five.” Ezra is skeptical, but takes it in stride: “Somewhere around point five? Perfect.” He swings the big gun around 90 degrees to the left until it locks in place. Ezra realizes, “Targeting scope’s useless. I can’t see it.” Kanan advises Ezra that “it doesn’t matter” because he won’t necessarily need to see it to take proper aim, and to “trust yourself.” So Ezra does, and tightens his grip on the gunner’s controls. Taking a risk, Ezra removes his helmet to better connect with the Force around him, the wind and sand be damned. He keeps his eyes shut, furrows his brows, finds his target, and fires a single shot. True to form, the shot finds its mark, and the targeted AT-AT walker explodes and collapses. Ezra opens his eyes and announces triumphantly, “Got ‘em!”
The AT-TE transport emerges from the dust storm, and Ezra jumps off the seat and onto the main platform. Rex steps out with Kanan and Zeb, and congratulates Ezra. (Note, there is a parallel with A New Hope. Luke switches off his targeting computer; Ezra can’t see because of the storm. Luke lets the Force guide him to find the perfect chance to fire; Ezra uses the Force to find his target and fire. Both achieve their goals, their shots find their marks, and they are congratulated by an ally.) Rex advises that the Spectres “get yourself moving, This is your only chance.” Ezra is confused, and disagrees: “What? We can’t leave now.” Kanan, however tells him that they have to return to the Rebellion to give them the information the Rex provided. Without further ado, Sabine and Zeb rush into the Phantom, and Ezra steps forward to join them. However, he stops, and turns to face Kanan, saying, “The other part of that mission is to bring Rex back with us. We can’t just abandon them.” Rex, however, tells Ezra, “You’re not abandoning anyone. We’re covering your escape. Now move!” Ezra is conflicted and shuts his eyes for a moment, before returning the helmet to Rex, turning around, and heading into the Phantom. Rex reminds Ezra that he’s a soldier and that “this is what we were born to do.” The conflicted look never quite leaves Ezra’s face; within moments, the Phantom takes off.
Inside the Phantom, Kanan is piloting while Ezra, Sabine, and Zeb are in the jumpseats. Ezra says, “Kanan, you know better than anyone. They won’t give up. This fight is gonna be their last.” Hera comms in, “It’s too bad about Captain Rex, but at least you got the intel. I’ll rendezvous with you shortly.” Ezra, on the other hand, asks Kanan, “What are we gonna tell Ahsoka? Rex was her friend, even though he was a clone.” Kanan turns around, gets out of the pilot seat, and decides to confront his own issue head on. He tells the Spectres, “I’ve got my problems with clones, but I don’t want those men to die.” Sabine, Ezra, and Zeb smile, proud of Kanan for coming to his senses. It isn’t long before Sabine takes the controls and swoops the Phantom down low through the legs of the AT-AT walker and then straight up into the air, opening the hatch on the way up. Ezra, Kanan, and Zeb drop out of the Phantom, landing on the top of one of the walkers. Both Jedi have their sabers out, and upon landing, use their sabers to open the top hatch. Zeb removes the hatch, knocks the two soldiers out, and takes a seat, just like Kanan. Ezra steps closer to the controls next to Zeb, and they fire upon the remaining AT-AT. The three of them watch as Kallus and Co., retreat, and Rex, Gregor, and Wolf make it out of their AT-TE transport. Ezra, Kanan, and Zeb make out of the AT-AT; below them, Rex, Wolffe, and Gregor salute them. Behind them, the Ghost descends.
Later, the Ghost docks with Phoenix Home, the Rebellion’s mobile HQ. The Spectres make their way into the adjoining corridor, and greet Ahsoka halfway. Ezra, Zeb, and Kanan step aside to let Rex through and reunite him with Ahsoka. Ahsoka walks up to her old friend Rex, who tells her, “You got old.” Ahsoka responds, saying that it “had to happen sometime, Rex.” (Parallel this with in the Ahsoka series when the titular character meets Anakin in the WBW, and Anakin says, “You got old.” And Ahsoka says, “Well, it happens.”) Rex credits the Spectres for ensuring he made it out of the battle, and gestures behind him. Ezra looks from Kanan to Ashoka, who thanks them for trusting Rex. Kanan notes that it “wasn’t easy”, and it still isn’t, but Ahsoka offers him a piece of sage advice: “Nothing worth doing ever is.” She turns around, and leads the Spectres into Phoenix Home.

I'm rewatching Flashback in season 3 of Voyager and in the episode Janeway mind melds into Tuvok's mind and they go back to the time that Tuvok served in the Excelsior with Captain Sulu.
And then Harry Kim and Janeway discover that Sulu didn't include the Excelsior's adventures trying to rescue Kirk and Bones from the Klingon empire in his official logs.
Harry is shocked by this but Janeway is quick to defend the generation of officers that were Kirk and Sulu:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Space must have seemed a whole lot bigger back then. It's not surprising they had to bend the rules a little. They were a little slower to invoke the Prime Directive, and a little quicker to pull their phasers. Of course, the whole bunch of them would be booted out of Starfleet today. But I have to admit, I would have loved to ride shotgun at least once with a group of officers like that."
Oh, Janeway, there's something I want to tell you about your future self...
'A little quick to pull phasers.' Becomes a thing for you and your crew. This is especially true of a former Borg you steal from the Collective.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
KANG [on viewscreen]: Mister Sulu, I see they have finally given you the captaincy you deserve. SULU: Thank you, Kang. KANG [on viewscreen]: Do not let it end prematurely. SULU: Kang, we've been on a survey mission studying this nebula. Our navigation system malfunctioned, and I'm afraid we got lost. As soon as we've completed repairs, we'll be on our way. KANG [on viewscreen]: We'd be happy to escort you back to Federation space. SULU: Very generous of you, but we can manage. KANG [on viewscreen]: I insist. SULU: Actually, an escort would be welcome. We'd hate to lose our way again. KANG [on viewscreen]: Bring your ship about, bearing one eight one, mark two. SULU: Nice to see you again, Kang. (Transmission ends.) VALTANE: Captain Sulu? SULU: Man your station, Lieutenant. We're not giving up just yet.
Janeway wasn't kidding, she's so fascinated with Sulu's captain style of Bullshitting, which now that I know she admired the Captains of Old, I see signs when Janeway does it herself.
And when Seven does it too.
(LOL, If Liam Shaw thought Seven, Picard, and Riker were bad they have nothing on Janeway.)(Affectionate).

I'm going to go ahead and VOMIT as much as of this story idea out of my head as possible because if I don't it's gonna rattle in my head forever and ever and I'm not gonna be able to rest easy.
ANYWAY, remember the Valiant Hero ending... wait don't touch that dial! OK, so I always go on and on about my Charles is an android AU, but what about this? Charles barely survives the explosion, his body is pretty badly damaged, but what isn't damage is easily repairs. He ends up spending one whole week repairing himself with wrecked parts that have somehow made their way to the moon...
AND SO for like one and a half months, after trying to repair a very OBVIOUSLY broken transmission device, he uses it as a video journal to collect his thoughts and hopefully leave it as a memoriam for him in case no one EVER finds him and he just ends up completely and utterly dying.
BUT SURPRISE! He's not alone! Amelia is there! And literally pissed off because wow, you don't remember me, wtf the fuck? She just as badly damaged as he is, but he ends up helping her repair herself because she didn't do such a good job. A for about a week or so, there's a sort of awkward and malicious air around them until Amelia finds out that Charles is the one who wrecked the Toppat Space Station. SURPRISE! She's pissed off because HALF OF HER FAMILY was killed in that explosion and she's like "here's a line in the floor if you cross it, I'm going to kill you."
One mental breakdown later though, they're best friends! And they start to work together to hopefully get a proper rocket up in the air so they can possibly go home and see their friends and family members when they run into ANOTHER GUY who was abandoned on the moon. He was actually a CCC test subject/intern that very unfortunately got caught in a horrible accident that left the crew that was taking care of him dead. He was helping with a CCC project on the moon, but I'm not going into details about here, all that matter is they HAVE A NEW FRIEND!
And also Jaques is there because his painting is magic and managed to reassemble itself after the crash and the CCC intern is actually magic too and manages to "half break" the seal on Jaques' painting, so he can move around, it's just his torso and stuff.
And they all work together to try to get off the moon and back home and shenanigans ensue and such and there's a lot of heartwarming junk.
Yeah...

Determined Rage. Reminisce in the Face of Death!
“Don’t toy with him, Kakarot! He’d kill us all without hesitation!” Vegeta growls out weakly.
There is hot-red loathing suspended in the Namekian air. It encases and smothers everyone in the vicinity. Frieza stands before the Z fighters and Vegeta. They all stare at the ruthless beast as Vegeta sits on the ground with multiple wounds scattering his body. Blood trickles from some fresh holes that have been fired through him. His figure trembles with pain and weakness, but Vesper helps keep him stable.
Using her recently found Ki ability, she flows energy into his small wounds. They repair within a few minutes, but only because they are so simple; not fatal. Despite the care she shows, the prince still acts arrogant to her; swatting at her and pushing. Krillin is watching the display of conflicting behaviors, trying not to get angry. He’s trying not to finish the job for Frieza for disrespecting Vesper.
“He’s nothing but a monster. He did horrid things to our kinds. You can’t even imagine the trauma we’ve gone through because of him.” Vesper says, kneeling behind Vegeta to help keep him sitting up.
“My, my. What praise you give me. I’m flattered that even my traitors know the respect I’m due.” Frieza chuckles out, tail swaying. “Though, I never really did that much to you, Vesper, darling.”
Vesper scoffs. “Bullshit. You erased my entire race. I watched my family die in front of me because of your order. You had the nerve to force me into your crew to be your personal engineer.” She grits her teeth, heat starting to slowly emanate off her battered body. “You refused to let me socialize because you thought it would stop me from working. I made everything you asked, so I wouldn’t die. I was only a child.”
Vegeta grunts in pain. “I never met her while on that blasted ship, but I heard a lot about how smart and efficient she was.” Vesper’s heart skips and her cheeks redden a little. “I didn’t think a single Tuffle would be spared, knowing you.”
“After a few years of loneliness, I finally spoke to Lord Vegeta. He was rude at first…but he was nothing less than a saint once he got over my race. We shared pain; hatred; regret. He made me feel safe.” Vesper starts choking up as tears flood her eyes. “Then you took him from me! You murdered the only person who understood me there!” Her voice cracks as she starts raising it.
Frieza shrugs. “I couldn’t have you two figuring a way out of my grasp. Had I lost that oaf of a monkey, I’d lose everything.”
“Don’t talk of my father that way, bastard!” Vegeta snarls out, but gets shot by an energy blast. “AGH! B-b…bastard…” he covers the new hole in his left arm.
Vesper quickly puts a hand on the wound and concentrates her energy into it, slowly repairing it. “My lord was wonderful. We had meals together and laughed about the past. He practically bragged about his amazing son; saying how he’ll be ‘the best warrior Saiyajins have ever conceived’.” She giggles sadly as she heals the hole in her wounded love’s arm. “I dreamed of the day I’d meet him. I even snuck my own transmission into the Prince’s scouter, unbeknownst to you.”
“Excuse me?” Frieza looks surprised.
“You killed Lord Vegeta. Now you’re trying to kill Prince Vegeta…” she finishes healing him. “I’m not gonna let you take him away. I promised my lord that if anything were to happen to him, I’d make sure his son became the warrior their race needs. I’ll never let anything happe-“
“Whoops!” Frieza condescendingly and dramatically says as he fires a beam into Vegeta’s heart.
Vegeta’s eyes widen at the pain he’s flooded with. “You…just…” he falls over.
Vesper stares in disbelief. She starts breathing rapidly. “No…no, no, no! NO! VEGETA!” She covers the giant hole with both hands, trying to heal it. “Don’t die. DON’T DIE!” She shakes her head. “I won’t let you die!”
“My bad. My hand slipped.” Frieza snickers smugly. “I sneezed. Sorry, I’m allergic to monkey dander.” He scowls in disgust at Vegeta.
Vegeta coughs out blood. “Don’t let him…g-get away with this…K-Kakarot.” He hoarsely demands, tears streaming down his face. “He killed every…single one of the Saiyajins…”
“Vegeta, please…don’t talk. You’re expending too much energy and air.” Vesper tries speeding up her healing, but it isn’t doing much to such a drastic wound. “Please, my prince, you’ll die faster. You need to relax and let me heal you.”
“Dammit, Tuffle. Enough…of your foolishness.” He tries to swat her hands away. “I’ll die regardless. Your healing…isn’t strong e-enough…” he coughs a bit more, splattering her with his blood. Her body tenses, but she keeps trying. “Kakarot, you need to kill him!” He croaks out. “He’ll never change his ways, no matter how many times you spare him.”
Goku watches in pain at the feeble attempt to save a life. “Vesper…” he softly says, unable to find the right words to either of them.
“I beg of you…clown. Tear him apart for the sake of our race. The sake of your Saiyajin pride…” he wheezes. “If he kills you, he’ll find your family and kill them as well…”
“No! Even if you two die, I won’t let anything happen to Gohan!” Vesper sniffles. “Not again. That idiot, Raditz, tried once. Gohan won’t be hurt again!”
“Tuffle! You aren’t strong enough.” Vegeta growls out. “If I die to him, you will too.” He looks at Goku. “Do it. Kill him.” He then slowly goes limp.
“Vegeta..?” Vesper stops and looks him over. Everyone stares in shock at Frieza’s remorseless murder. “Vegeta? Prince Vegeta?!” She starts panicking. “No, don’t die.” She starts pumping energy into his wounded heart viciously. “NO! Stay with me! Please,” her voice shrieks in desperation, “don’t leave. Not you too!”
Goku tears up at the frantic CPR she’s attempting. “Vesper, please. He’s already gone…”
She drops her forehead onto his and softly cries. “No…please…” Krillin walks over and gently places a hand on her back. He goes to say something, but he’s blown back by her bursting into rage. “NOOOO!” She screams, extreme heat exploding off her figure, a deep red aura engulfing her. She looks at Frieza. “You killed my prince! You took my love away, you horrid abomination!”
“Abomination?! Watch your tongue, shrimp.” Frieza snarls and hisses out. “I could have you join him if you’d prefer. Scum dies with scum.” He points a finger at her.
Vesper lets out a deep growl and starts to get up. “BASTARD!” She gets ready to pounce. “I’LL RIP YOU LIMB-FROM-LIMB, YOU BASTARD!”
Just as she moves, within an instant it all calms down.
As she’s shot between the eyes.
A collective gasp cuts the air. Vesper trembles and falls back.
“VESPER!” Krillin cries out, racing to her. He slides to his knees and catches her. “Vesper. No…no…” he hugs her barely living body tight. He cries out a heart-wrenching scream. “VESPERRR!”
Just before she dies, she puts a shaky hand on his cheek. She also grabs Vegeta’s hand. They look at each other. He gets one last thing.
A sweet, loving smile.
Vesper’s arm then slips to the ground.
Her head rolls over with that smile.

SPACELOGARCHIVETEXT:FULL:2232023
(translation: Space Log Archive text: full: March 23 2023)
When an interstellar ship is docked into the Main Ship for repairs, only one human is sent up to keep watch over it. Isolation in the natural world is difficult enough, even more so in the artificial. Even considering this, the human sent up does not cope well with the deafening silence of space.
Warnings - animal and human death alluded to, suicide, brief conversations about religion and superstition. Much of the literal text is abbreviated technobabble, in a similar format to the untranslated title, which may be difficult to read.

Why The 1998 - 2002 Chevrolet Corvette C5 Is A Great Buy
by Dave Ashton
It’s easy to forget that the Chevrolet Corvette C5 was a cost-effective way to take on more highly fettled sports cars such as the Noble M12 GTO, BMW M3, TVR Tuscan or even the supercars of the day. At the time of release, the Chevrolet Corvette C5 was seen as a bit of a bargain in the performance world and still holds that criteria today. In today’s market, you’re still getting a lot of car for your money, with a unique look that is bound to turn heads.
The engine and stuff
First and foremost, let’s talk about the engine. The C5 debuted with an all-new 5.7-liter V8 engine, dubbed the LS1, which was rated at 345 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. This engine was a significant improvement over the C4’s engine and went on to be used in other high-performance vehicles at the time, such as the Camaro and Trans Am. The C5’s engine provides the car with an incredible amount of power, making it an absolute joy to drive. This was more than a surprise to most at the time, considering its design principles were still based on older principles. The engine could output 344bhp through a 6-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. The engine block was now made from aluminium, providing an overall lighter weight to the car.
The engine management system gave a wide range of torque values. Adding in things like antiroll bars and switchable suspension gave the C5 plenty of options for the average user.
Design
Another notable feature of the C5 is its sleek and stylish exterior. The car is long, low, and lean, making it both attractive and aerodynamic. Its low center of gravity also contributes to its excellent handling, providing the driver with a more connected and engaging driving experience.
The C5 also comes with various technological features that were ahead of their time. For example, it was one of the first vehicles to have a head-up display (HUD) that projected essential information, such as speed and RPMs, onto the windshield. This allowed drivers to keep their eyes on the road while still accessing vital information. Also available as a targa-roofed coupe or a convertible model, with plenty of tech of the times such as the Twilight Sentinel system which automatically switched on the headlights in bad weather.
One potential concern for buyers considering the C5 is its age. After all, the car is over 20 years old at this point. However, it’s worth noting that the C5 was built to last. Its sturdy frame and reliable engine make it a durable car that can withstand the test of time. Additionally, the C5 has a large community that provides support and parts for maintenance and repairs.
In conclusion, the 2000 Chevrolet Corvette C5 is a car that’s still worth buying in 2023. With its powerful engine, advanced technology, and sleek exterior, it provides an excellent driving experience that’s both engaging and enjoyable. So, if you’re in the market for a classic car that’s still relevant today, the C5 is an excellent choice to consider.
How much is a C5 Corvette worth today?
Depending on the condition of the vehicle, a C5 Corvette can cost you around $25,000. that’s a lot of car considering its 345bhp can hit 170mph and do a 0-60mph time in 4.7 seconds. For the best experience, the 6 speed manual is the best option, although gear changes can be quite heavy-handed.
In total, you’re getting a lot for your money here with the C5 Corvette. Unique looks, a tried and tested powertrain, and a fantastic driving experience will definitely make you stand out from the crowd with this one.

5 Warning Signs That Your Heavy Equipment Is Overworked
One of your most valuable assets is your construction equipment. Downtime and maintenance costs can have an impact on project schedules and earnings when something goes wrong with it. These are just a few of the reasons why it’s critical to follow the manufacturer’s instructions for correct use, conduct pre-and post-operation inspections, and be proactive about preventative maintenance. It’s also crucial to be aware of common warning indications that your heavy equipment is being overworked.
Excessive wear and tear might occur if your machines are overworked. It has the potential to reduce power and efficiency while also causing damage. This reduces productivity, needs additional maintenance and repairs, necessitates more frequent part replacements, and increases costs and profits in various ways.
If your heavy equipment is nearing the end of its service life or has been overworked, it may be time to replace it and get some of the benefits that come with it. If you don’t have enough equipment to match the demands of your present jobs, it may be time to expand your fleet and expand your business.
So, to protect your productivity and earnings, keep an eye out for these warning indications that your heavy equipment is overworked.
1. The Warning Lights Have Turned On
Warning lights are an important warning symbol, which should come as no surprise. The equipment’s sensors have discovered a problem, and we’re alerting you about it. Ignoring (or concealing with electrical tape) bright warning light will not solve the situation. The equipment is likely being overworked and underserviced if the indication lights come on more frequently than usual. And it’s even worse if they go out without the issue being resolved; it signifies the light has most likely burned out due to being on for too long or too frequently.
2. Disruptions
Tumblr media
3. Fluid Levels Are Frequently Depleted
Fluid management must be carefully monitored to ensure the longevity and productivity of your devices. If engine or transmission oils, hydraulic fluids, coolants, or other fluids are consistently low, even when checked and filled on a regular basis, the equipment is most likely overworked. It’s also possible that there’s a leak someplace. If you can’t see it on the outside of the machine, the problem could be an interior seal that has cracked. Fluids frequently leak into other components of the engine or hydraulic system as a result of this.
4. Changing the Color of the Exhaust
The exhaust of a car or construction machine might reveal crucial information about its condition. Exhaust should be colorless in most cases (though it’s typical for it to appear slightly yellowish at first). If the exhaust from a piece of heavy equipment becomes visible, it’s a sign that you’re overworking it and that something is wrong with it. Here’s some background on the various exhaust colors and what they mean.
