All Inclusive Transbian Flag! (+ stripe meanings & higher contrast version) I don't normally post flags, but I'm proud of this one PARTICULARLY so :3 here you all go! This is the all-inclusive transbian flag, for when you're trans in ANY way, shape or form and are a lesbian! Anyone can use this except if you fall under my DNI or you're not a transbian (unless you're making a character who IS one) ( this flag has also been dubbed the sunset flag & the hyacinth flag (courtesy of my friend Angel @fawningdolls ! )
#pride flag#coining post#<- ? maybe? unsure#lesbian#lesbian pride#transgender#trans pride#transbian#queer#idk... how else 2 tag this...#anyways there's another transbian flag i lov that's purple and pink (it's literally in my icon)#but i felt like it was too .. binary?#like it excluded those who fell outside of femininity and what most ppl think of when they hear “trans lesbian”#which is a trans girl or transfem who's a lesbian#and that is NOT to invalidate them. i love my trans sisters and i stand with them (and i am transfemmasc/a boygirl!)#but often times masc lesbians and transmascs and butches and gnc and nb people and intersex people are excluded from lesbian solidarity#anyone who isnt feminine and likes girls is questioned and invalidated and told theyre just straight or bi and confused#and it's insulting!#as a butch i wanted 2 make a flag that represents the whole community and isnt just representative of femininity!!#btw this isnt to say the purple + pink transbian flag is bad . you CAN use that flag (i use it!!!) and it wasnt made by a bad person#i just wanted to make one that upheld MY personal beliefs and thoughts on what it means 2 be a transbian#ultimately use whatever flag you feel is best for you!

I think the most healing thing to do as a trans person is talk to other trans people (irl when possible) who have really different experiences with gender whenever you can. It's so easy to get caught up in your own head feeling like the only person who struggles with certain things, who hates some part of yourself, who's frustrated with society the way you are. It's so easy to feel like nobody else understands and spiral into your own head.
But I'm a firm believer that the more you talk to people with different experiences the more similarities you'll find in unexpected places and that can be so much better than someone who is like you in every way. It's me and one of my other nb friends who presents very differently agreeing that our genders are both very purple. It's my transfem friend and me discussing body hair being dysphoric for us both. It's talking to 3 other transmascs about how we want to transition, what's dysphoric and isn't, the worries about surgery and T that are uncomfortable to talk about with cis people. Even if it's just "we both really relate to this song about being trans", finding little things you can go "Same hat!" is a muscle that needs practice but it is very worth it.
#I'm lucky to be in an extreme transgender work environment rn.#And I'm finding it also rather entertaining that out of all the other transmascs there the people I vibe with most are transfem.#But I spent so long being like 'nobody can know that I sometimes still identify with being a girl but in a very not cis way'#Because nobody's going to believe or respect me. And having them both kinda guess that before I even said it.#Finding the similarities in our dysphoria and experiences??? especially being autistic and trans. I was so close to crying#I think this is something also to be said outside of just being trans I think it does a lot of good in a lot of conversations#esp about minority experiences because you can really find the overlap#the conversations I've had with my black friends. With my friends from other countries. With my disabled friends.#I really think there's always something you can go 'people have said to me too!' or 'I've felt like that'#even if it's not for the same reason. we can all hold hands. we need to find the solidarity.#it's why we need to support minorities we're not a part of because their oppression is our oppression and vice versa. it's all connected.#we can't fight for ourselves if we can't fight for everyone else too.#sorry I'm feeling really emotional about this. getting off my soapbox now lol

Antigonism
ANTIGONE: I'll do my duty to my brother - and yours as well, if you're not prepared to. I won't be caught betraying him.
What is antigonism?
Antigonism is a transfeminist mode of thought specifically for transfems that embrace solidarity with other trans people, as well as those who are intersex and the queer community in general, under the belief that it's vital to recognize we're all equally oppressed and capable of doing lateral harm to one another
Beliefs of antigonistic transfems include but are not limited to:
accepting that transandrophobia exists
being mindful of exorsexism
not policing the terms that intersex people use for themselves
awareness that other AMAB people can present as feminine without being some kinna insult to us
recognizing that racial hegemony and the cishetpatriarchy are radically different systems of oppression and any comparison between the two, while possible, must be made with exceptional care
rejecting the "reclamation" of radical feminism
finding it appalling to demand that other trans people define themselves as privileged for not experiencing the same things as us - especially when they do in fact experience much of what is commonly, inexplicably cited as unique to transfems.
Isn't that just trans unity?
Trans unity is also great! But I feel like transfems who explicitly reject trans radical feminism could do with a word that is more forceful and specific. Some would prefer that this just be considered the default, and the vocal minority of people who think transfems are oppressed by other trans people should simply be treated as weirdos out of step with the rest of us, but I think there's value in making a strong statement with a term like this.
I've seen a lot of people who legitimately feel like shit because the vocal minority has been so loudly terrible that it's affecting how comfortable they are with random transfems whose opinions they don't know. I understand the temptation to just say they need to touch grass or whatever, but even aside from the fact that things like anti-transmasculinity within the community isn't purely limited to discourse on a dying social media website, I feel like that's blaming them for their reaction to being treated cruelly. I think antigonism could help drill in that there are tons of transfems who back them up, and that they don't need to search for keywords to know that person is safe.
Because, like, that happens to me, too. So many times I've seen a post I really liked and thought was insightful, only to have my distrustful nature lead me to doing such a search before reblogging and being gravely disappointed with the results. That fucking sucks, yall.
Why "antigonism"?
In the legends of Ancient Greece, Oedipus had two sons. One of them, Polynices, would eventually go on to wage war upon his brother, Eteocles, the king of Thebes. There were many telling of the story, some in which Polynices had a very good reason for doing so and some where he didn't.
Polynices and Eteocles both killed each other in the war, but Creon, who took power after, unilaterally declared that Polynices was a traitor. Antigone, the daughter of Oedipus, however, simply does not give a fuck what Polynices did or did not do. When Creon orders that any who try to bury Polynices will be put to death, she proudly does so anyway.
The most famous teller of Oedipus's family history, Sophocles, wrote a play about the war, but it's lost to time and so we know nothing definite about what version of events is canon to Sophocles' play starring the titular Antigone. Considering that the whole point of Creon's character is his dogmatic clinging to law over sense, his assessment of Polynices as being in the wrong for going against authority doesn't clear things up.
I emphasize this because I don't want to seem like I'm framing other trans people - transmascs especially - as requiring forgiveness for some vague past sin. Quite the opposite, just as they treat us as their sisters in spite of that minority of transfems who are awful to them, we must recognize that they're often the first to shut down transmisogynists amongst themselves. Ultimately the point of Antigone's actions in defying the law to honor her brother is that things like that are entirely irrelevant. The fact that the person accusing Polynices of being evil is a jackass, and we know there were versions of the story where Eteocles had it coming, is even more reason to look past his "crime."
ANTIGONE: I owed it to him. CREON: I had forbidden it. ANTIGONE: I owed it to him. CREON: Polynices was a rebel and a traitor, and you know it. ANTIGONE: He was my brother.
Does that mean we should not call out other trans people who are transmisogynistic or otherwise treat trans women badly? Of course not. But we have no more right to abandon or spit on them than they do us, which so many of them refuse to do in spite of the hostility they've often faced. To be an antigonist is to believe that we can do no less for those who do so much for us, and the creation of the term is intended not to spur more to do that so much as to give a name to those who've already been doing that.
Finally, I understand that the plot of Antigone revolving around Polynice's burial might feel grim. Critically, however, Antigone ultimately dies as well.
ISMENE: I must yield to those in authority. I think it is dangerous business to be always meddling. ANTIGONE: You have made your choice, you can be what you want to be. But I will bury him, and if I must die, I say that this crime is holy. I shall lie down with him in death, and I shall be as dear to him as he to me.
We are oppressed by the same forces. We are allies in the same fight. We are friends, lovers, and family. An antigonist is a transfem who believes that all trans people will live together and die together. We are committed to sharing the same fate with our siblings, one way or another. Antigonists see us all as bound together, headed for the same destination, and we would not for a second ever want it to be otherwise no matter where that road leads.
One more thing!
Even if this terminology doesn't catch on, I hope this effort means something to anyone who sees this. <3 Your sisters do love you, I promise.

Sure maybe you wanna say that the "suck my dick and stop being a baeddel" copypasta anons were originally sent by a couple of trolls or whatever but the amount of people I see defending them is very clear fucking proof that the sentiment exists. There is a lot of preaching about trans unity right now, but as is often the case, if someone demands unity while refusing to do even the bare minimum for you (in this case disavowing the horrifyingly misogynistic posts and calling out some of the people who maintain such positions instead of defending them) and only call for unity when you speak out against their abuse, then they're not looking for unity. They want you to shut the fuck up. You never see these same people calling for unity when there's a harassment campaign against trans women. You don't see them defending trans women when our words are misinterpreted in as bad of a way as possible.
And before someone accuses me of being a baeddel terf or whatever: I am not saying we need some kind of transfem separatist movement or that trans unity is impossible or undesirable. I am not saying that transmascs are doomed to be violent misogynists. I do have some very nice transmasc mutuals (all of which uncoincidentally are communists lol) who I do appreciate and feel actual solidarity with because they aren't transmisogynists and because I can expect them to have the backs of the transfem community whe the newest transmisogynistic harassment campaign starts on this dogshit website.
A growing problem on here is the continuous dilution and rejection of feminism and even some of the most basic feminist positions in favour of positions that would be perfectly at home in a 2016 antifeminist mra youtuber's videos if it wasn't for the pseudo-progressive tone of the message. It is what has lead to "you should shut up about transmisogyny and suck my dick", a position championed by "genderpunks" and transandrophobia truthers. The drift from understanding the basic premise that we live in a patriarchal and misogynist society to "well, men have it bad too, so who's to say what the real gender dynamics are like" and even "men have it bad too, specifically because they are men" has erased a lot of progress on this website and allowed this kind of thing to happen.
The way to close the gap and achieve trans unity is not to ask for silence from trans women speaking against the abuse done to us or to pretend that gender dynamics do not exist politically, but to take steps towards solidarity with us and speak out against transmisogynists and to push back against antifeminist rhetoric.
This post, obviously is aimed at people who are genuinely interested in trans unity, not people who scold others about trans unity whenever trans women have a problem with the way we are treated.

It really gets me upset when the trans man lesbian crowd spreads these soft positivity posts like “trans men have always had a place in the lesbian community uwu” with not a degree of awareness. It’s been shown statistically, that a majority of cis lesbians will proudly state they would prefer to date trans men over trans women. It’s been shown how trans men are accepted by cis lesbians and welcomed in lesbian spaces over trans women. And it isn’t because of beautiful beautiful solidarity, its because they see them as women and they see trans women as men. Trans men have been equated with masc lesbians for decades and continue to this day, especially by terfs who use butch lesbian and trans man as interchangeable words. The absolute tone deafness I’ve seen in these discussions boggles the mind, like saying trans men grew up identifying as lesbians, being treated as women, being “socialized” as women, so they have a ‘right’ to lesbian spaces. As if it doesn’t subtlety imply that transfems have less of a right to be there then they do, as if it isn’t regurgitated terf “male/female socialization” rhetoric. And when I point out these problematic elements I often get the trans men who argue for this stuff lecturing me about denying their agency and how they choose to be with lesbians. If yall want to date lesbians that’s fine, I literally cant stop you nor care to. It’s worth noting though, that there have been plenty of instances of trans men voluntarily dating straight men, yet we dont have this community push to validate straight men chasers and their trans boyfriends. For good reason, too. I am not saying trans men need to be “kicked out” of lesbian spaces, I understand the solidarity between our communities. That solidarity will always exist. (And again I want to point out for the most part they are NOT being kicked out or excluded. Trans fems are) And I understand that “man” doesnt always mean man in a binary sense, some people are nonbinary men and women and things aren't always as clear cut. As a transmasc, nonbinary lesbian I understand that. This does not apply to you. I just want people to please take note of the transphobic, specifically transmisogynistic overtones that accompany a widespread push to have trans men as a group be considered as exceptions to lesbian attraction.

One transmasc to another, please reflect on how your actions may cause actual harm to transfems.
A joke made in anger that is entirely unactionable does not warrant tattling to the organizations that are currently trying to strip all of us of our rights, and are looking for any reason to villainize our transfem comrades.
What’s been done cannot be undone, but please for all of our sakes remember that we’re all under the same boot, and licking said boot won’t make it any less likely to crush you too.
It’s our responsibility to take care of each other, learn from each other, and to look long and hard in the mirror when someone says your words and actions are harmful.
Solidarity. Solidarity. Solidarity.
(Most of this is answered here: https://www.tumblr.com/abearinthewoods/770794163004407808/okay-i-dont-know-a-lot-about-the-situation-but-i?source=share)
I need everybody to understand one uncomfortable but super important truth.
Class solidarity means an end to the oppression olympics.
You should never be looking in your neighbor's bowl to see if they have more than you, only to see if they have enough.
Like lets take a step back for a quick moment and recap whats going on here. She made jokes about killing one of the most unsupported and invisible members of the LGBTQ community, because why?
Like no, lets actually address that.
Trans men want to use terms like trans misandry and trans androphobia to talk about their oppression, not terms like trans misogyny and trans emasculation. and for this they got bomb and death threats from other people in the trans community?!?!?!?!?!?
Because trans men want to use words centered around their their hatchling gender, not their egg gender, to describe their oppression, because they don't want to center their discussions about their issues around some axis of women as the most oppressed, they got hit with a massively outsized amount of hate from (a tiny collection of, lets be very fucking clear here.) mostly trans fems who drunk a little too much of radfem's cis-male hate that they decided to transpose onto trans men. All escalating to bomb threats which my inbox is now also full of.
This is your brain on oppression olympics.
This is the threat to class solidarity.
This is the threat to class solidarity.
This is exactly what they want. For us to be fighting over who has it worse. I don't give a fuck who has it better or who has it worse, and i sure as fuck don't care about any narratives that center this question around one's identity or demographics as some kind of universal truths that overrides individually.
Even when I do bring up ways in which cis or trans men have it worse, or ways in which women commit crimes more than men, I try to focus it on purely countering the opposite narrative, to make sure I am only pushing the pendulum back towards the center, nothing more.
No experience is universal and arguments about stats and oppression and privilege tend to paper over peoples individuality.
Solitary means respecting how we are different. How that changes how we all experience the world. You can't tell a trans man you have it worse than him without disrespecting this because you can not know his life, what he went thru, how his brain's chemistry makes minor changes to how he sees or deals with adversity that build up over time, or how the same difficulties may be harder or easier for somebody to handle or overcome based how they were raised or what other experiences they went thru.
There is a reason why countries who are not at war with each other fly their flags all at the same height; never flying their flag above their ally's flag. They stand as one. United. Because that is what solitary actually means.
We stand at a fork. Down one path is trans men using words like trans misandry to talk about their oppression and trans rad fems on tumblr not interjecting with some bullshit, and down the other path is trans men still using words like trans misandry, but also the hostility comes out and you'll get shit like them telling the same trans radfems to stop calling their oppression trans misogyny, and start calling it trans misandry, and the whole world goes blind. Because i've seen how understandably upset trans women have gotten at me when they've mistakenly thought i was actually suggesting that, its not a blow in the gender war we'll come back from if it enters the discourse.
(as an aside thought experiment, its actually kinda hard to truly only be sexist in one direction. like one could argue that slutshaming is implying there is something dirty or unclean about men/manliness that they 'taint' women with by having sex with them. but you'd rightly call me dick if MRAs started showing up to the local feminism meet and interjecting that every time the topic comes up. And as an MRA, So would I. So please lets stop trying to argue over the "true" direction of acts of sexism and let people be individuals who experience and talk about it in their own way.)
((Final aside, it would make things easier for our intersex and enby brothers, sisters, and gender nonspecific siblings to cast aside this gendered concept of oppression))

Super minor ch1 spoilers but I'm not a party pooper like twitter so let's bear the see more
The calendar thing with Diana and Damon is so so so funny. Like yeah of course Damon won't admit to having a semi naked dude calendar in front of his desk. It just casually being something that all male students have? Not in his calculation. To be honest he probably just assumed that Tozu either knew he's bi or he's fucking with him.
But Diana know nothin' of that. She thinks Damon has a horse too. Which means? (She probably could tell Damon was bluffing, BUT) Trans Damon.
FTM? MTF? Who knows. Is Tozu being transphobic? Who knows! Motherfucker literally is making them try to kill each other, why would he respect anyone’s gender identity?
Diana doesn't want to pry! That'd be rude, it's such a personal thing! But what if she accidentally misgenders Damon if he is MTF? What if he (she?) is scared of using his (her????) correct pronouns? That'd be awful! Everyone wouldn't mind referring to her however she feels comfortable by, even if she feels like a class outcast!
(I don't remember when exactly the character profiles were brought up nor do I think Diana would really check them anyway,)
So she tries to be subtle. Maybe she asks Damon if he wants to tag along trying on clothes, see his opinion on skirts, maybe she pesters him into being her model while she tries new makeup combos, maybe she even asks Cassidy for a handheld animal crossing-esque game to see which gendered character he picks.
She feels a bit bad, investigating a classmate like this, but eventually the conscious thought leaves her mind and she is simply happy to be spending time with Damon, even if he's grumpy about it the whole way. She learns that he thinks that longer skirts are pretty on her and that he doesn't like wearing shorts, that brown eyeshadow looks great in the contour of his face and where to apply her brush to highlight his cheekbones, and it's a certain kind of domesticity she is particularly fond of.
So when, weeks later, Damon asks her to fetch something from his room - the calendar lie forgotten - and she sees that semi naked guy in his calendar?
Oh! OHHHHH!
She doesn't say anything. Damon got Tozu to change his calendar! That's good! So that means he's a guy? Okay! She wasn't expecting that the guy could be reasoned with, that's great!
And whenever she smiles when addressing Damon as a he, that's only for herself to know.
Bonus points: Transfem Diana and Transmasc Damon solidarity. They're so silly. Goobers even

I want to talk about the group of TERFs weaponizing the talking points that we use to bring attention to the severity of what we experience under transandrophobia, in order to be incredibly transmisogynistic (and actually transandrophobic too).
None of these radfems are actually trans men. Some of them identify as transmasc, and I do not want to erase that, but none of them identify as men in any way. These radfems show up every few days in the transandrophobia tag, and in related tags, and try to use as many buzz-words as possible to make themselves sound credible. Here are some talking points that you should be wary of, and explanations for why they are misleading and horribly misinterpreting what transandrophobia theory actually is.
The idea that the oppressor class is AMAB people, and/or that we need an "AFAB solidarity movement"; this is wrong. To act like transandrophobia is perpetuated by AMAB trans people more than it is perpetuated by cis women is based not in reality but instead in online discourse. In trans-heavy spaces, transfem voices can sometimes be very loud in silencing transmascs, but this is an exception, not the rule. Transfems silencing transmascs comes from a place of trauma and lateral transphobia, while cis women silencing transmascs comes from a place of weaponizing their status as our oppressors.
The idea that transfems are part of the oppressor class at all; this is an intentional misinterpretation of what transandrophobia theory actually is. Cis men and cis women have their own distinct roles in oppressing trans men, trans women do not. Honestly, if anyone who genuinely believes in transandrophobia theory who isn't baiting falls for this, I don't even know what to say anymore.
Pretending like our critiques of woman-centric feminism don't go far enough. More than likely, the person making this point is a supporter of woman-centric feminism, but they do not include trans women in their definition of "woman." Stay clear of any rhetoric like that.
Anyone who seems particularly unwilling to call out cis women's role in perpetuating transandrophobia. While this might be a transmasc who is too scared of speaking up for himself, an easy way to check is to see if they post more about trans women being laterally transphobic, or cis women oppressing trans men. If they post more about the former than the latter, they are most certainly a TERF.
Make sure to make it clear that none of these TERFs represent transandrophobia theory as a whole. This is a disgusting misinterpretation of what we have been saying, and none of these people have any sympathy for what trans men actually go through, especially gay trans men, who they assume have "straight privilege." TERFs are vile and have no place in our movement. Call it out when you see it.

I understand the anger transmascs have about some of the current trends in online queer spaces but I still want you all to go outside and befriend trans people, because I've had too many trans people both transfem and transmasc get so consumed by their own tragedies and hate they become the transphobe they claim to fight against.
Y'all gotta keep pushing for solidarity even when online spaces become annoying, because whether you like it or not the horrible groups of online people saying bigoted things are small parts of a broad community fighting for justice. You cannot let your pain turn into a hate or you're backsliding just like the people who're hurting you too.
Transfems aren't more privileged than transmascs, if you're a trans dude who's saying they are you are still an enemy of trans liberation. This goes vice versa too, transmascs aren't more privileged than transfems, and claiming this makes you an enemy to liberation.
This (white western centric) idea that societal privilege can be easily measured is damaging to liberation movements. We fight the same fight against these systems of oppression, and do not let your pain or anger make you forget that EVER.

my personal take on "antigonism" is that it's entirely what you make of it. which is to say, i agreed with your post explaining why you felt such a term was necessary, and i do think this mentality of "most of us are normal about each other" and simply assuming we understand each other's experiences by virtue of being trans is reinventing artificial gender solidarity between cis people ("bros before hoes", "girl's girl") but superimposed onto trans people. which can be particularly contentious, given that we're an extremely traumatized bunch with a lot of baggage and massively diverging perspectives on all kinds of things. relating to each other outside of conventional gender relations means we have to put in that much more work to bridge the gaps between us, because we can no longer rely on the common assumptions made about men and women to carry our interactions, if that makes sense.
i do think a whole word for transfem-to-transmasc solidarity does toe a line between being unnecessarily inflammatory and conditionally useful. i'm genuinely glad for the people who felt seen and appreciated by the fact that a transfem made so explicit her stance on intracommunity issues. i'm also sympathetic to the people who feel put-off by such a word. when does allyship become chauvinistic? there is no word for a non-misogynistic man to signal to women that he is explicitly anti-antifeminist, for example. do we need one? i think a vast majority would say no, on account of simply stating he believes in feminist principles to suffice. so i'm wondering what specifically the push was for you to coin a word around tfem4tmasc solidarity, because while i do think trans people as a whole need to take significantly more initiative about rooting out transmisogyny and transandrophobia both, i'm not quite clear on what could signal more clearly a transfem's stance on intracommunity dialogue than just saying "i believe in transandrophobia and condemn all radfems". all feminism, transfeminism included, has had their malicious actors-- the existence of transradfems isn't really anything noteworthy as far as the broader feminist conversations go.
i hope this doesnt come across as confrontational because i think the people who found comfort in the fact that you are willing to go that far for them is truly heartwarming. i just don't want to see us splinter further into microfactions over something like one person coining one maybe-overenthusiastic word on the internet
Sincerely, there is a word for men who are anti-anti-feminist, though, they're feminists. Granted, self-identified "feminist" men have somewhat of a negative stereotype associated to them, but still, feminist men are feminists.
One of the biggest reasons I think a term would be useful is because so many people feel unsafe in the trans community because of trans radical feminism right now that it can help them relax a lot when they see a trans woman identifies as such. Just reminding people with assurances that most trans women are Normal doesn't really help that when they keep running into ones who aren't over and over.
TRFs are aggressive about this stuff. Seriously, every single day, post after post, their primary form of activism is crying about TMEs stealing kinks and liking a children's toy too much. I feel strongly that should be countered. Even if they aren't the majority, they sure as hell act like it and repeat how great it is that every single trans woman except velvetvexations alone agrees with them.
To be absolutely clear, I do not think I'm the only non-weird trans woman! That is just literally what they say about me! They may be the minority now but that frog is boiling.
IRL transmascs are forced out of spaces and talked over when they're let in because mascuwinity is scawy, No doubt transfems have similar problems because some spaces are TERF-y, but that problem is exacerbated when social media is filled with TRF rhetoric because it gets drilled into people's heads they need to be worried about that, and I don't think "touch grass" is a good response to that.
Hell, what if someone touches grass and then they do happen to end up having people be transandrophobic/exorsexist/intersexist/etc. to them? "Oh, well, that didn't count, try again somewhere else, I prommy that's not Normal."
It's all about volume. I feel very, very strongly that volume is necessary here, to combat the feeling that that radical feminism is around every corner and help people feel at ease and know trans women are with them.
