Oh Canada…..two stories in one week? You can do better
Reduxx has learned that a convicted pedophile is the individual who had been protected by swimming pool staff after mothers expressed concerns about his presence in the women’s locker room. Parents and concerned citizens had been sounding the alarm about the man, who some say they had caught watching their young daughters undress, but were told he had a right to use the facilities as a “transgender woman.”
In February, Reduxx reported that a mother had been threatened with arrest by staff at the Aquatic Centre in Nanaimo, British Columbia, after attempting to remove a male from the women’s locker rooms she said had been acting in a predatory manner towards her children. The man, who she described as wearing a wig and a face mask, had been peeping under the stall into the one where her young daughter had been changing.
Reduxx has now identified the man with the help of members of the community, and learned he is a convicted child sex offender. Jeremy Melvin Carlson now goes by Rylie Otter — sometimes spelling his first name “Rhylie” or “Rhiley.”
In 2019, Carlson, who was 28 at the time, was sentenced to 14 months in jail and 24 months probation for sexual interference against a young person.
He admitted to touching an 8-year-old girl for sexual purposes on nine separate occasions while in a position of trust from December 2015 to September 2016. According to Vernon news site InfoTel, Carlson told police that he touched the child with his penis and fondled her genitals.
The girl eventually disclosed the abuse to her mother, who reported it to the RCMP. Carlson pleaded guilty to the charges in 2017. He later applied to have his guilty plea withdrawn but did not continue the bid and reverted back to a guilty plea.
The case gained national attention in 2018 when the victim’s mother read an impact statement aloud in court during the sentencing hearing in Kelowna, British Columbia, noting that her daughter had been severely traumatized by Carlson’s abuse.
“As a result of this trauma, (my daughter) continues to have nightmares,” the mother said, as reported by The Daily Courier. “(She) does not feel comfortable walking to school alone or with her siblings … She fears being in public places because she does not want to run into the offender.”
She also said that her daughter’s self-esteem had been negatively affected by the assaults and added: “I feel like I have completely failed my daughter as I was not able to protect my baby.”
While the victim’s mother was reading the statement, Judge Monica McParland dabbed a tear from her eye. This caused defense counsel Jacqueline Halliburn to make an application for the judge to recuse herself due to judicial bias.
McParland later dismissed the application, arguing that the victim impact statement was “highly emotional and moving” and that “there is nothing wrong with the court having a compassionate or empathetic response to it.”
During the sentencing, news outlets also reported that Carlson had started identifying as a woman. He had changed his name to “Rhiley Melvin Carlson” and was taking hormone replacement therapy.
The Daily Courier reported that “uncertainty was expressed in the court concerning whether or not Carlson would serve a jail sentence with men or women, and if sexual offender treatment would be available since it is typically geared toward men.”
The Crown sought a 15 to 20 months jail sentence and two years’ probation. Defense counsel argued that circumstances such as Carlson’s heavy marijuana use and struggles with gender identity and depression warranted a light sentence of only 90 days, despite admitting that he had “poor sexual boundaries.”
McParland felt that a strong denunciatory sentence was warranted in the case, with one aggravating factor being that Carlson has attempted to blame the young victim for the offense. She added that Carlson had to receive psychiatric treatment during his probation and barred him from being alone with children under 16, as well as from places where children under 16 could be present, such as swimming pools, community centers, schools, and daycares. Carlson was also added to the sex offender registry for 20 years.
Despite these conditions, concerned citizens have come forward to identify Carlson as the man who was spotted using the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre women’s facilities and closely watching the young girls.
In February of this year, Reduxx reported that a mother had come forward after a man in a wig who claimed to identify as “female” walked into the women’s changing room and tried to peer under the changing stall her daughter was using.

The mother confronted the man, who said that he had a “human right” to be in there, and escorted him out of the changing room. When she reported the incident to pool staff, she was warned that she could be arrested and charged for her actions instead. Other local parents also came forward with reports of having run-ins with the man at the Aquatic Centre.
More recently, Facebook users have been sharing around a screenshot taken from a March 20 post about a convicted child sexual abuser in a Facebook group called Predators Of Vancouver Island. The post identifies the man pictured as Carlson and says that he has a current case open against him for another sexual assault on a child.
Reduxx confirmed the source of the photos and received confirmation that the man pictured is indeed Jeremy Carlson, a.k.a. “Riley/Rhylie Otter.”
Two anonymous sources who had encountered the man in the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre changing room also confirmed with Reduxx that it was the same man as the one pictured in the post.
“That’s 100% the person,” one member of the community told Reduxx. “I’m just so upset our justice system isn’t doing anything about it,” the source said. “They can’t charge him, not enough evidence, even though he breached by… not letting the sex offender list [know] he changed his name. Our system is a joke.”
A second source also identified the man in the pictures as having been the one present in the Nanaimo Aquatic Center locker rooms.
“I can anonymously confirm that was the person I saw and confronted in the changeroom watching a young girl change, yes,” she said, adding that she had also been in contact with the police but was told they had “hit a dead end.”
Reduxx also spoke to a concerned citizen who had been trying to get answers from Judge McParland in Kelowna and Crown council in Nanaimo about why Carlson was allowed access to the Aquatic Centre given his restrictions.
“I tried using online court services to see his conditions … and crown had said there [was] a public ban and that cops were well informed of Jeremy’s actions around the island as there were alot of incidents with that person,” he explained.
“Cops won’t touch it [because] of trans issues now,” he added. “I’m honestly really shocked that the Nanaimo pool would continue to allow [Carlson]… to go there after numerous police were called and file numbers were taken. The police say they can’t do anything.”
Reduxx has reached out to the Nanaimo RCMP for details on whether the investigation into Carlson is ongoing, but did not receive a response in time for publication. This article will be updated in the event a response is received.
Reduxx also reached out to the Nanaimo Aquatic Center and received confirmation from an assistant manager that the matter was currently with police, but that no comment could be given at this time.
Police in Windsor, Ontario have located a suspect in connection to a sexual assault which reportedly occurred at a women’s shelter.
According to a public news bulletin issued today, a female victim had contacted police on April 4 to report that she had been sexually assaulted while staying at an unnamed women’s shelter in Windsor, Ontario. The suspect, who was also residing at the shelter at the time, is alleged to have climbed into the victim’s bed and sexually assaulted her.
The suspect has been identified by Windsor Police Service as 32-year-old Desiree Anderson, who may also be known as Cody D’Entremont.
Anderson was the subject of a police search today, but turned himself in just hours ago.
The case bears some resemblance to a crime which occurred in Parry Sound, Ontario just last year.
In October of 2022, it was reported that a woman was allegedly raped by a sex offender at a women’sshelter after the predator identified as transgender in order to gain access to the facility.
Shane Jacob Green, 25, was arrested on August 24, 2022, by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). At the time, the OPP issued a notice stating Green had been charged with two counts of sexual assault, four counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and one count of failing to comply with a release order. But it was later revealed that the crimes had occurred while Green was staying in a local women’s shelter.
Despite Canada’s vast size, there is only one known single-sex shelter in the country.
Vancouver Rape Relief (VRR), located in British Columbia, is Canada’s oldest rape crisis shelter. In 2019 it was stripped of its city funding after asserting it had a right to provide services to females only. Trans activists successfully lobbied the city government to make the shelter’s funding contingent on accepting males who identified as transgender.
As a result of its hardline stance on being exclusively for women in need, VRR was targeted by trans activists repeatedly in incidents of disturbing vandalism which included nailing the corpses of dead animals to its charity shop door.

Things are getting increasingly shitty in Canada for trans people and, not gonna lie, it's really stressful! Within the last month:
The Conservative Party of Canada, which is the official opposition party (AKA the party with the second most votes) and has a solid chance of forming the government in the next election, held a convention where they voted overwhelmingly in favour of creating policies to stop gender-affirming medical care for minors (link)
They also officially voted to define "woman" as "female person" and try to stop trans women from being in women's prisons, shelters, locker rooms, and washrooms
Multiple provincial governments are either enacting policies that would require parents' approval in order for trans kids to change their names or pronouns at school, or have officially said that they support forcibly outing kids (link)
A nonbinary teacher in Quebec received threats of violence for using pronoun "Mx" and other Quebec provincial parties complained about "wokeism" and said they wouldn't use the title (link)
And this doesn't include the homophobic & transphobic protests outside pride events throughout the summer or the "Save Our Children" convoy that's being planned for later this month (link), or the tons of shitty things that have happened all through this year, like tons of Ontario trans people (including me!) losing healthcare.
I'm trying to stay as optimistic as possible, knowing just how many trans people and allies there are, but sometimes! It's hard!
Anyways, if you're Canadian, please consider:
Getting involved in local, municipal politics, especially on school boards, to speak out about the need for gender-affirming policies, especially for youth
Showing up (with an organized, prepared group) to counter-protest anti-trans protesters
Keeping track of any anti- or pro-trans bills going around and contacting your MPs & MPPs to let them know what you think of them
Supporting 2SLGBTQ+ charities
Literally never ever voting conservative
And even if you're not Canadian, if you have friends who are Canadian & trans, maybe check in on them? Most Canadian trans people are pretty freaked out right now I think.
#lgbtqthings#my stuff#tbh I wrote this mostly to vent#I feel like no cis people I know irl are as freaked out about this as I am#canadian politics

tirf = trans-inclusive radical feminism. if you face misogyny irl, i care about your pov on feminist issues! and i care about anti-transfem oppression as well. as a detrans woman with reverse dysphoria i am never uncritical, but i refuse to add to transphobia and gncphobia. i love fellow gnc people very dearly, trans included. i tend to use ofab/omab with o meaning observed, since afab/amab terminology is for intersex experiences. manhood & womanhood are not always the same as maleness & femaleness. trans experiences are complex. gayness is wonderful, including exclusive same-agab/sex attraction like transfem4omab, transmasc4transmasc, and any kind of gay experiences someone has risking homophobia in the world. if you don't risk tangible experience irl of homophobia or misogyny, please be a good ally and don't talk over those who do. same thing if you don't risk tangible transphobia or gncphobia.
cis/bio/non-trans women, transmasc people, transfem people and intersex folks are all oppressed under the patriarchy in unique ways, especially if they're gay/bi as well. being a nuancefem means exploring every single side of this, and not putting one experience as inherently worse than another. it's all about what the specific person is actually experiencing. you can be oppressed on one axis and privileged on another; all of us are both in some way or another, and we all need to speak up on our experiences and boost voices of those going through things we aren't. i am against creepy "cotton ceiling" rhetoric, misogyny, homophobia and detrans stigma in trans activist spaces, and against racism, intersexism, genuine transphobia and ableism in radfem spaces. i boost the voices of misogyny-affected people of all kinds on this rad-leaning feminism blog. my experiences as a gnc woman in a wheelchair who had chronic dysphoric for 13+ years affects my feminism very deeply. i love my trans gyns <33 i know the struggle, and i will fight against trans stigma tooth and nail. i am also post-gender without being trans, and i believe more cis women should be! gender is fake, we should all be free to express ourselves under the heteropatriarchy however we want to.
as an ex-camgirl who was traumatized and exploited in the industry, i am very critical of the sex industry but care deeply for those who must rely on it to survive. selling access to your body is risky. you can never take back those pictures/videos/acts, and disgusting cis men can share those around even if you quit, and often will weaponize those against you even years later, possibly ruining your chances at future work or personal relationships and irl reputation. your consent cannot be removed. the internet will most likely keep those forever and old creeps with disgusting ideas of female/ofab people & transfemmes will get off to it. it is not a safe industry. so many videos out there are genuine sexual abuse and coercion. no porn site is ethical. i am critical of the industry, not its victims and the people who use it to survive. i want a better world for us all. please reach out if you're in it and trying to get out, or out of it and still traumatized. it's not your fault that your consent was purchased. you deserved better.
btw, reblogs aren't an endorsement of every reply in the post or the op of the post. i tag any potential misgendering in other people's replies to insightful posts - often the op will have deleted their blog, and only a shitty reply remains... so i reblog to use it in later writing - as misgendering cw. i'm reblogging less and less content like that, but i used to rb a bunch early on when i needed more topics to dissect. so be careful scrolling too far, especially if you're trans!!

The Art Gallery of Ontario caught me coming and going with two of their special exhibits today.
First there was the 'Making her Mark' exhibit, featuring 240 pieces of art by female artists between 1400-1860. It included all kinds of media including lacework, illuminated gospels, painting, silver smithing, porcelain, scientific illustrations for text books, engravings, sewing and even music by female composers from the period playing throughout. It's fantastically presented and I highly recommend it.
And then I stumbled on the second and almost burst into tears. It was a beautiful collection of the photographs from Casa Susanna and all the joyful gender nonconformity that the place allowed for trans women and gender nonconforming people in the 60s. I'm having such regrets that I didn't grab the huge hardback book that is available in the museum shop. It made my little queer heart sing, especially in the current climate. Huge beautiful portraits of Susanna and her friends having lovely times together, proudly and defiantly themselves. I think I need to order that book.

if i can complain a little bit. im trying to get useful data on workplace harassment and violence for canada and ontario rn, and i was hoping the National Survey on Harassment and Violence at Work in Canada would have some, but their methodology is fucked. their report breaks down harassment and violence rates by gender and sexuality in two ways:
first, by grouping responses into the categories "men," "women," and "gender-diverse"
second, by grouping responses into the categories "LGBTQ2S+" and "heterosexual"
neither of these makes any sense!! what does a non-binary trans woman or trans man answer to the first question? what does a heterosexual trans woman or trans man answer to the second question? beyond this glaring issue, these category choices also make it impossible to compare the data between cis and trans people. it's such an obvious issue, and yet! our finest researchers!

Transgenders Should Not Enter Single-Sex Spaces That Do Not Align With Their Biological Sex
Single-sex spaces are single-sex for a reason. Bathrooms, locker rooms, sports teams, prison cells, and more are more often than not separated by sex to ensure the privacy and safety of those within; however, gender ideology threatens the privacy and safety provided by these single-sex environments by advocating for biological men to be able to enter women’s spaces. While many say that transgender people should have access to places that correlate with their self-identified gender to promote equality and inclusion, in practice, this actually harms people, especially women and girls by putting them in vulnerable situations, villainizing them, and pushing them aside to accommodate the feelings of a small group of people.
Allowing biological men to use the same facilities as women puts women and girls in vulnerable and potentially dangerous situations. When changing in a female locker room, the women inside are consenting to seeing and being seen by other women in various stages of dress. Allowing men, no matter how they identify or present themselves, into a female locker room opens a door that would allow opportunities for assault, harassment, and overall discomfort of the women inside. This is not just hypothetical. This has happened and will continue to happen unless men are banned from women’s spaces. In Xenia, Ohio, a trans-identifying biological man entered a female locker room at a local YMCA and was reportedly entirely exposed to the women within the locker room who did not consent to seeing or being seen by an indecent man (Faith). An inmate by the name of Rose Doe was raped and is now “scarred for the rest of [her] life” by a trans-identifying male who she was forced to be cellmates with (Glorioso et al.). A self-identified trans woman known as Desiree Anderson admitted to climbing into the same bed as a woman residing in a women’s shelter in Ontario, Canada and sexually assaulting her (Brown). Another trans woman, known as Isla Bryson, was placed in a female prison in Scotland and took advantage of this by raping two women inside the prison (The Guardian). These are just some examples of biological men using their self-proclaimed identity to have access to female only spaces and take advantage of those within said spaces. These instances are not isolated. Allowing anyone who “identifies” as a woman into single-sex spaces grants them access and opportunity to take advantage of those within. To stop this from happening, trans women need to be banned from female-exclusive spaces, so that women have a safe space away from the opposite sex. An exception for even just one trans woman to this rule is a gateway towards an exception for all.
Biological men using female-only facilities contributes to the silencing and scrutinizing of women speaking out. Many women are reasonably uncomfortable with biological men in single-sex spaces; however, when opening up about their discomfort, women are often met with backlash from people accusing them of bigotry or “transphobia” for not letting men in their spaces with no questions asked. J.K. Rowling, famous author of the Harry Potter book series, receives constant threats because she has spoken up about the issue. She is portrayed by the media as problematic and bigoted, all because she advocates for women’s rights and safety. Paula Scanlan, a former swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania, also spoke out about having to share a locker room with biological male, Lia Thomas. She says that would open her phone and have hundreds of hate messages all because she spoke about her experience and how it was unfair and made her uncomfortable (Mew). The backlash these women and many others like them have received discourage other women like them from speaking up about their experiences with biological men in female spaces, and this can even have effects beyond this particular issue. Seeing women be scrutinized for speaking out discourages women who have suffered all kinds of harassment and misogyny from speaking out about what they have experienced. Allowing biological men into female only spaces and disguising it as equality and progressiveness sets women up to be villainized when they oppose the intrusion of biological men in female spaces.
Allowing biological men access to female-exclusive spaces also pushes aside the rights and safety of women to affirm the feelings of trans-identifying biological males. Recently, a woman who was a member at a Planet Fitness in Alaska had her membership revoked because she saw a man in the women’s locker room and took a photo to show to the staff. The presence of a man in the female locker room made the woman uncomfortable; however, upon reporting the incident, the woman had her gym membership revoked and the man continues to use the female locker room at the gym without so much as a slap on the wrist all because he is a self-proclaimed woman. In her testimony, Paula Scanlan says that when she and her teammates spoke up about the discomfort that a transgender teammate in their locker room was causing them, the university responded by essentially saying that the girls were the problem and they needed to be more open-minded or as Scanlan put it, “move over and shut up” (Scanlan). These instances are not isolated either. Women all over are forced to comply with rules that accommodate transgender women being allowed in their spaces. These women’s feelings are dismissed and minimized all to affirm the “identity” a biological male has chosen for themself insinuating that these men’s feelings are more important than the feelings, rights, and safety of women.
In conclusion, single-sex spaces need to remain single-sex. While no one has a right to choose how someone else presents or identifies themselves, women do have a right to female-exclusive spaces that should not be compromised because a small group of people want to feel validated. Allowing biological men in female only spaces can make the women inside very uncomfortable or even put them in danger, the ideology discourages women who have experienced this from speaking out, and sends the message that the feelings of trans-identifying males triumph over the safety of half the population.

Hey, congrats on the bottom surgery, I hope your recovery goes well. I wanted to know, do you have any advice for what to look into about the surgeon? I'd also be interested to hear how long it was from your initial consult to the surgery?
hello thank you so much! depends on where you live for example i needed my gp to write a letter saying i "medically need hysto/bottom surgery" and i also needed a letter from a psychiatrist saying the same thing (find yourself a student in training or someone getting an apprenticeship in psychiatry but even then the cost might be the same since its a flat fee for "second letter allowing you to get a sex change" in ontario, it was around 250 for me to book a single appointment. the benefit of choosing someone in training is to tell them to make your letter fit perfectly - i told mine to put whatever was most likely to get me approved and cover my surgery)
now if youre past the permission letters stage - i just asked for a referral to the most experienced surgeon who has performed the most laparoscopic hysterectomies and i got a few options - i had a choice of going w Womens College Hospital or Mount Sinai which ontario has a sister connection w the one in NY - i chose a surgeon at MS cus that gives me a case file in that hospital and MS in NY performs phalloplasty which will ultimately make it easier for me to transfer/be waitlisted for that.
My surgeon (Dr. Allen) met w me abt a year after my 2nd sex change letter for consult, and then it was abt 6-8 months until i was booked n got my surgery! So once you send that 2nd letter off expect to be getting surgery within 18-20 months. My surgeon even gave me a choice of where i was operated at and i chose WCH since i got my top surgery there and they are the first ones to scrap the bullshit BMI requirements that gave me access to surgery to begin with 💕
i love the workers at WCH so much actually i cant not talk abt them, its mostly women and its a teaching hospital so you get thousands of future surgeons n nurses that are interested in providing better transition care and are learning how to perform these surgeries and what obstacles trans people usually face (dropping the BMI reqs, giving me mid surgery tools that are used in vaginoplasty in WCH cus the nurses noticed everyone w leg blood clot risk can benefit from them, etc) like i dont wanna say go to WCH cus my care team was all very pretty diverse women and im gay but they really do treat you better theyre more personal w their care and i saw 3 trans girls at different stages of bottom surgery recovery being wheeled out into a waiting room together just cus the nurses knew they were friends and wanted them to have daily time together while they stayed for recovery it was really sweet. ive had mostly queer nurses for post op checks there it was realy nice being able to ask how my keloided top surgery scars would heal and my nurse pulling up their shirt and showing me how theirs looks cus it was done by the same surgeon - small things like that made my fear of medical malpractice drop majorly so if youre in ontario i recommend WCH for most transition surgeries!!

https://torontosun.com/news/local-news/warmington-female-rugby-players-complain-trans-opponent-hits-too-hard
Female rugby players are not used to feeling like they have been hit by a bus on the field. Or a truck.
A veteran female rugby player, who plays for the Stoney Creek Camels senior women’s team, said she was hit so hard in a recent game, it felt like a man delivering the tackle.

This transgender player, known as Ash — said to have registered as a non-binary person who identifies as female — stands about 5-foot-10 and weighs up to 220 pounds.
“We are women,” said a female player on the receiving end of a tackle. “It’s a whole other thing playing rugby against men.”
Or one who used to be — especially one of that size, who is also said to have been an MVP at the men’s level just last season.
“I had never been hit like that before, even at the competitive women’s level,” said the player. “There was so much more brute force. There are women who are bigger than him, but no girl hits like that. This is a strong human.”
“The player is a nice person, but that is not the point,” said the female player. “We are now at a disadvantage.”
This story has sparked a lot of discussion within the rugby community – many comparing it to the Leah Thomas swimming issue in the United States. But as one female player pointed out, competitive swimmers have their own lane and there are no collisions. In rugby, it’s all collisions, all the time. She said Ash’s legs are massive and strong, and “you feel the hits from (them) the next day.”
Diana Murphy a friend of some of the players, tweeted: “Three women’s rugby players had to be removed from a game and treated for injuries from hits sustained by a transwoman” and that she feels “Trans have no place in women’s sports.” Rugby Canada said there were no illlegal hits, but sources in the game said Ash received a yellow card from the referee for a hit to the head of one female player. Ash was pulled from the game. Players said they are not clear whether it was at the insistence of the referee or the Fergus coach. Either way, Rugby Canada said this is a federal inclusion issue and not only is this transgender player welcomed in the league, but the law protects that person from discrimination.

“We are aware of the matter in question but would advise that Rugby Canada has received no formal complaints,” said Managing Director Tania Richards. “All rugby played in Canada abides by federal government laws which regulates inclusion in sports."
She said there were no players hurt and there were no illegal hits as has been suggested on social media. What there has been, said Richards, is online harassment of the transgender player. The Fergus club has not yet responded, but has forwarded our request to speak with Ash. Meanwhile, there are some players who feel they should not have to play against someone who was recently considered male, but are afraid to reveal their identities for fear of being targeted or cancelled themselves.
All sides use the word “complicated” when talking about this matter. Rugby Ontario sent a communique to members, saying “for those who attended Sunday’s board meeting, you are aware of some concerns that have arisen about player safety in the context of a transplayer playing in club games” and “we are working closely with Rugby Canada senior staff on the matter and are together developing action and communication plans, informed by the counsel of their third-party crisis management PR agency.” They also asked, “if you are contacted by anyone in the community or the media, please do not engage by offering any opinion or comment on the situation.” What they don’t seem to be doing is fully accepting there are some female players who don’t feel comfortable going up against a transitioning opponent in a physical sport where size and strength play a role. One player said the collision she had with trans player Ash was unlike any other impact she has felt in all her years playing rugby.

im back at the psych ward the third time this crazy ramadan fuck my life man. they want you eating when the suns up and fasting when the suns down and breaking your fast at 8 in the morning once the sun is bright. fuck the christian white supremacist nightmare that is laicité already. i could use help.
navigating transmisogyny and ableism is already hard enough for me. im a culturally christian white girl raised by french catholics with guilt complexes like no tomorrow and celebrating ramadan even just in solidarity and friendship as a white christian is structurally impossible in this racist islamophobic society. cant imagine what its like for actual muslims here in canada or at this hospital dealing with that shit personally. they wont let me integrate and consider or familiarize myself with any alternate perspective these white supremacists.

Hey everyone~ normally I wouldn't post something like this
I just post diapers and reblog others~
My good friend here really needs help~
She's a trans girl and an age regressor, and is having some terrible apartment trouble with a bad living situation and an tricky/awful landlord.
Please consider helping her out if you can, even a few dollars or just $1 if you can.
I donated what I was able to but she has to hit this goal by the end of this month (Sept 30th). Please consider if you're able to

Hi!! I don’t usually post about my personal life, but a really close friend of mine is falling on some hard times and needs a month’s worth of rent to get settled into a stable situation. Any amount of money helps, even just spreading this post around would help a ton!

I've not really bothered to mention this but I'm actually on DIY HRT because the Ontario Government has been actively corroding our medical system and that's involved ruining our limited access to the stuff.
In the process of trying to get it legally, I've been sent away from seven trans care clinics. Why?
Too old!
Too far away!
Not living in the right area!
Can't help without a primary care doctor at their location (which is impossible as they DO NOT HAVE DOCTORS THAT CAN FILL THIS NEED)
Didn't like trans people (why are you offering HRT then)
The government took our money :(
I could get it through a primary care doctor...except I can only get one in this town and the wait list is 3 years! Oh I could try online...except they shut them all down!
I had to buy Brazilian E that ended up costing me 350 CAD for two months of pills after delivery and shipping costs got to fuck me in the ass, but luckily I've found doing 1 on 1 exchanges with trans women is a much cheaper way to get my Sex Change Serum. Hope the random anonymous stranger I purchased from isn't tricking me into injecting poison!

#Ive got nothing funny to say#If i didn't have an american girlfriend I would have had zero avenues to get more#Saved me#If you have any questions ask plz#Dont give up#Trans#Hrt#Trans hrt#diy hrt#HRT#ontario#Canada#healthcare system#healthcare

You're disgusting for saying it doesn't happen just because 'you don't see it'.
People keep searching for ways to argue that JK Rowling has always been a horrible person deep down as a way of explaining her recent behaviour.
But here's the thing: that's probably not true at all.
Pretending it is discounts the harsher, scarier truth: that even decent, well-meaning people can be radicalised by dangerous, hateful, predatory groups, and given enough time they can become truly hideous versions of their former selves.
It can happen to me. It can happen to you. It can happen to any of us, given the right mix of circumstances. And over the past few years, we've seen it happen to one of the most famous children's authors of our age.
Nobody is immune.
