Trans Kids Deserve Better released 6000 crickets into the far-right LGB alliance conference, disrupting it enough to get the last speech cancelled! All kids are safe and home, but they are launching a fundraiser - above is an insta post they made about this fabulous action.
EDIT!!! Just Giving closed their campaign without giving them adequate time to respond after a mass reporting by LGBA terfs. If you donated previously, your donation has been refunded - please donate at their new link!! (See below) https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tkdb-crick-kids?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaZ0EAURLRUodAYkaS10vH1o8z__gyw5X6GJALIiG7uTv81e8SAFoxvW5U0_aem_0hbyrSYaEG1CZj2ZnfkwXw
They lost the 5k they had raised for trans kids. Please help them get it back.
If you want to show support and can't donate, please share their fabulous action, and post crickets in support with TKDB tags/messages of support/link to the fundraiser or their site. Go! Post crickets! They flooded the conference hall; now let's flood social media in support of these incredible kids!

Support grows as teenage trans activists enter their third day of protest at NHS England’s Headquarters
NHS London Headquarters, 1 July 2024
Two young trans activists scaled the NHS England’s London headquarters at 133–135 Waterloo Road in London on Friday to stage a protest and have remained there ever since. The group, now made up of seven young protesters, all 18 or under, has one simple message: Trans Kids Deserve Better: we are not pawns for your politics. “We are staging this protest to remind politicians and voters that we’re real kids, not just political talking points. We may not have a vote, but it is our lives that are at stake,” said one of the activists staging the protest. “Gender-affirming healthcare is a matter of life and death for us, and we hope that our actions will bring awareness to this fact and encourage others to fight for the healthcare and dignity that we are so shamefully denied.”

People from the UK Media are refusing to cover this protest because it doesn't fit their narrative about trans children, but teenage trans activists have been occupying the department for education headquarters here in the UK.
They previously have occupied the department for healthcare for four days and it wouldn't be surprising for this protest to last the same amount of time.
Image is from Trans Kids Deserve Better, and is of several protest banners in front of the department of education, with people holding them in the alcoves behind them.
Edit: Please check the recent comments on reblogs for upto date information on helping these kids! They want to see as many people as possible!

The department of education tried to steal the trans kids deserve better banner through a window, so Squirrel (one of the kids) fucking SCALED the building to stop them! If you're in London please please please go down to support them, they're doing amazing work, and please write to your MP about the issues facing trans students (outing, bullying, harassment...) and the puberty blocker ban, which has sadly been extended.
Any help will be highly appreciated!!! Watch the race to save the banner here:
https://www.instagram.com/reel/C_K6tnCoqbd/?igsh=MTE0emRocWxnZnIwdg==
They've also got a fundraiser in their insta bio, so please donate if you can!

honestly the more i hear about engstars and its TLs the more i absolutely dread the inevitable release of poltergeist and what may ensue from it, bc if if the translators themselves are already invalidating arashis identity then i Really Truly do not want to see how theyll translate natsume and tsumugis microaggressions/transphobia towards her. esp since ive noticed a rise in people being comfortably transphobic towards her, and i REALLY do not wish to see natsume and tsumugi being stupid fucking morons be used as evidence to discredit her
and i think this is all the more reason why its VERY IMPORTANT for engstars to DIRECTLY ACKNOWLEDGE arashi and her gender. bc sometimes characters are STUPID and RUDE and APATHETIC. enstars is a story with NUANCED and FLAWED CHARACTERS, and when a character is being a fucking asshole youre meant to PROVE THEM WRONG. but they dont even acknowledge arashi as a girl themselves. so, if you do use engstars, please keep pressuring them bc omfg this is so bad and i can only see it getting worse

please share with anyone you know who might receive one of these letters from the NHS! also, be aware that newspapers are looking for interviews and it’s probably safer not to give out information if possible given the government’s current stances following the cass report. trans rights are humans rights!! 🏳️‍⚧️

Sirius 100% was born in the most dramatic way. He came two weeks early. His mother's water broke at exactly 3am (witching hour) while she was passed out and she thought she pissed herself in her sleep. Then she got more contractions and she was like "oh these aren't Braxton Hicks these are the real deal". It was 13 (unlucky number) hours of labour and when his parents told him about that day he was so proud of himself bc like "dang right I came into the world like that I'm freaking (he can't say curse words) Sirius Black"
And then Regulus was born and he completely upstaged Sirius
It was like a blizzard outside. The power went out. Walburga's water broke at the worst time ever; 2pm. Its fully nap time and Regulus was like "NOW LETS GO RIGHT NOW". It's hardcore storming outside. Walburga has the worst contractions of her life. She was squeezing Orion's hand and screaming so much they both came to the decision in that moment that they were not having kids again. While the black family doesn't believe in like modern medicine ("damn muggles") they did have like a sacred 28 approved midwife that came over for Sirius' birth. Because of the blizzard the midwife couldn't make it so Walburga had a water birth in their marble bath tub. Splashing Orion everytime he pissed her off and Sirius was so stressed because his mom is in pain. He brought her a little rubber ducky (mom's taking a bath she needs a toy to relax) and she was squeezing it so hard so the only sounds in the bathroom was just her screaming crying and the duck going "sqeak sqeak" and Walburga saw little Sirius just standing by the door wringing his hands so stressed out because like "why is mom still in the bath if the water is so hot she's crying? I don't get it." and she calls him over and grips him by his shoulders and goes "Never have children Sirius don't do it" and Orion obviously says "mother's just sick that's why she's talking crazy" while shooting Sirius to the playroom because he needs his eldest son to continue the bloodline. Walburga is in labor for 7 hours (less than 13 but still spooky bc 789) and the first thing Regulus experiences is water. Walburga just sits there for a second with this beautiful baby girl boy just completely chill after being birthed just sitting there with his little toes in the water like "🙂hi." and then the blizzard settles and the black family are stuck indoors for three days straight with this new baby that just stares at people and has already slapped Sirius
But sure if you want regulus to be a summer baby that's fine too ig

i understand the frustration with “i made this gay pairing cis x trans so they can still have biological babies” with no thought to other methods and how ppl assume thats the case when it comes to mothpool aus where mothwing is also the mother of the three, but also…. idk i kinda dont give a shit if someone wants to do that and i dont really think its inherently transphobic as long as its handled with care and respect.
what really concerns me about this debate is how some people are adamant that you cannot portray trans people having biological children in media or youre being disrespectful. and im gonna say as a nonbinary person who doesnt want children for themself- thats kinda fucking weird? like i understand that for some people, theyre trans themselves and theyre speaking from a place of dysphoria, and i absolutely get that, which is why i think the topic should be handled with nuance and diversity in trans characters, but like…. guys. pregnant trans men exist irl. trans women get people pregnant irl. trans ppl’s ability and right to parent and have biological children are being debated irl. we get denied the opportunity to adopt as well.
in a climate like this, are we SURE we want the stance on rewrites and headcanons in the silly cat books to be “if you portray trans characters having children, especially with a gay couple, youre a transphobic freak no matter what!” does it really matter? especially if its being done by a trans person handling the topic with nuance who has a lot of trans characters with varying perspectives?
obviously yes, remember that thats not the only way certain gay couples can have kids, remember that not every trans person is fully comfortable with it and keep that in mind, remember that surrogacy and adoption are also perfectly valid ways to give fan babies- but remember that there are OPTIONS. not that you need to condemn the idea of transgender parents in the first place unless they fit the very specific criteria of “proper transgender representation” and anything that dares deviate from that is proof the op is a transphobic monster (bonus points if theyre a trans creator bc i mostly see trans people getting shit for this and it kinda pisses me off. although idm if cis people do it either as long as theyre handling it with respect)
#and this isnt getting into how trans mothwing outside of mothpool is a really good way to read her character#sorry. remembered the shit bonefall got despite being trans as well and got annoyed#that especially annoys me bc hes got plenty of surrogacies but the second hed touch a trans pregnancy#‘’no you cant do that!!! you freak!!! obviously you only see trans people as a loophole for gays to have babies!!!’’#also my gf and i were talking and obviously take this with a grain of salt bc this is our experience#but…. i think a lot of the ppl saying this……. havent really talked to trans women?#dude some of the ones i know LOVE the idea of getting people pregnant#did you know trans women have sex? did you know trans people in general have sex?? did you know trans people irl wanna start families?#did you know that? did you? or do you black out at the idea of a trans woman being anything but strictly pure and nonsexual#and OBVIOUSLY this is not every trans woman. some do have dysphoria around the idea#but im genuinely starting to wonder how these people act around irl transgender parents#whether they had kids before or after coming out#bc ngl. the attitude that thinking about this makes you a transphobic pervert?#directed at trans people making content for themselves?#im starting to think you all just dont want us to reproduce. if we reproduce we arent ‘’good’’ trans people#because a ‘’real’’ man wouldnt carry a child. a ‘’real’’ woman would carry the child. and god forbid the gays even THINK about reproducing#and being around children!#if we have children then we’re doing things that might make cishets look at us and declare we’re not perfect#we’ve proved we’re not just identical to cis ppl!! (and therefore deserving of respect!)#idk. i think this was mostly a case of tumblr going ‘’oh someone said no to this so lets push this to an unhealthy extreme!!’’#and i cant help but notice nobody really brings up nonbinary parents at all in this discussion#not that we have it ‘’better’’ or anything for that but yknow. are we supposed to swear it off?#is the idea of us having kids inconcievable? or worse…. does it mean we ‘’picked a side?’’#so its not even worth getting mad at a pregnant nb person bc ‘’well thats a woman so who cares’’b#HMMMMM.#ohhhh i bet they also get mad if you make transfem pregnancy possible too. no winning#idk really think about it when you go ‘’you can NEVER EVER portray a trans person starting a family. bc REAL trans people would never.’’#ohhh you probably get mad when trans ppl dont get surgery for one reason or another dontcha#whether we want to or its not in the cards for us for whatever reason like cost and such#(while also getting mad if we do bc we cannot win in this no matter what)

(Link is a court case)
Yeah but this doesn't happen and it's totally reversible and safe and they'd never hurt trans kids!!!
Doctors will give adults a medicine after all other treatments have been tried and strictly forbid them from taking it for over 6 months bc it will make their bones disintegrate, then other doctors will put children on this same medication for years without trying other interventions first and say it's fine and beneficial. Make it make sense

I find it detestable that "trans children deserve to grow up to become adults" as a principle is considered to be controversial, up for debate

As a community it is vital that we uplift POC trans voices. Not just because we deserve to be heard (and believe me we do) but because trans children of color deserve to know they have this option. They deserve to see themselves represented alive and happy.
