Crowley has always known they would get a tattoo of the garden they've been drawing since childhood. They didn't expect the tattoo artist to be so kind, funny, sympathetic... or so incredibly gorgeous...

there is an inherent transness to the angels and demons of good omens when they are in human form and blend in among humans. I think it's beautiful and it's also complicated and very much subjective.

but I can argue that aziraphale can be read as transmasculine/a trans man. he is quite happy with his presentation throughout history and he is, essentially, making an effort to present himself as a man. even if he doesn't grasp the human concept of gender and doesn't connect to it, that's the "form" that makes him happy, that's how he wishes to be perceived. (that's also exactly how I feel, so maybe it's a little bit of projection. but still)

for crowley it's a little different, he is very genderfluid and can be read as transfeminine and transmasculine all of that at once, and that's beautiful. he changes his presentation gender-wise and the same thing about understanding the human concept of gender can apply to him. he still makes an effort to be perceived a certain way, whatever that way is at any given time.

what's interesting is that, in the book, it's mentioned that crowley goes back to his favorite shape (which is man-shaped, at the time), and I like to think that angels and demons have the same relationship to their bodies that trans people do. maybe it changes throughout time, maybe it stays consistent. maybe sometimes they have to change it only for their safety or other things, against their desire.

Rules:

General Rules:

Discord is necessary to participate. It will be used as the main communication hub regarding all events. However, you are not required to actively participate in the server, and are free to disclose to the eventrunners other forms of communication.

Remain Civil throughout events. Harassment or bigotry of any kind will not be tolerated, you will be banned from the server and from future events.

Discourse should be kept to a minimum. There are already so many discussions around the politicisation of trans lives, that we want the space to remain as friendly and safe as possible.

Please do not use AI for your works. The works should all be original creations for this mini-bang, no reusing of fanworks.

This is a mixed event with a range of people of different ages. Respect and safety is paramount.

Mini-Bang Rules:

Maximum word count of 5 thousand words for writers, no more than 2 pieces of art for artists. Art is not restricted to visual art only. You can do physical, podfic, or anything your demonic little heart desires!

Writers will write their pieces. The mandatory check ins are scheduled for:

Summary Submissions (Writers only): April 30th Match Ups confirmed: May 13th Midpoint check in: June 10th Final Check: July 1st

Match Ups and Pinch Hitters

Match ups will be decided on the 13th of May. At any point between this date and the midpoint check in, if you become unable to fill your role, you may contact the mods to determine how best to proceed. If you are unable to meet the deadlines, a pinch hitter will be made available, but please tell us as soon as possible.

There will be 3 check-ins total. One solely for writers to share their summaries with the mods, and then 2 for joint check-ins. The final check in is the last possible time to make the mods aware of any schedule changes. Past this point, if you have not raised any issues, you are confirming that you are happy with your team.

Collaboration is encouraged between the artist and writers.

Match ups will be decided by mods and should remain anonymous to all except the writer and artist that are working in collaboration.

can we talk about how much queer and trans joy was this season? maggie and nina. they/them muriel, saraquel, beelzebub, even GOD. "you're a good lad" "im not actually, either". that one shopkeeper and his non binary spouse, played by a non binary actor. beelzebub and gabriel. shax, nina and maggie all thinking azi and crowley were together. also yes i'm gonna mention: crowley and aziraphale's kiss. it's just, i get that everyone's hurt and so am i but can we please focus on how beautiful this season was to us? we got so much and i'm so happy, despite the ending.
