So I just learned the last datamine added models for male Pyroar, Manectric, Ferrothorn, Armaldo, Forretress, and Diggersby. And I just had the dumbass idea to predict what they’re for, so let’s predict them, shall we?!
Pyroar is probably for Lodge Lysandre somewhere down the line.
People have convinced themselves that Wattson’s coming with Manectric down the line, but that’s doubtful, considering Masters operates on ORAS standard. That said, Juan has to come at some point, and he’s Emerald-only, so Manectric is entirely possible considering the Frontier Brains.
Only thing I can think of for Ferrothorn is a Rose alt, but he just got a BP unit, so it’s a bit too early for that. So it’s more likely him using Ferrothorn in an event stage featuring him. Ditto for Steven and Armaldo.
Maybe Forretress is coming with Lodge Koga down the line? I believe he’s the only major Trainer who uses one.
Diggersby’s the toughest to pin down, being an early-route rodent that literally nobody uses. I’m thinking… Holiday Clemont. Maybe he finds himself missing Bonnie and Hoopa warps her to Pasio (she probably gets Dedenne since multiple canons give it to her, so why not Masters?).
And I guess I’ll predict the November pairs while I’m at it:
Sygna Suit Elaine and Mega Mewtwo X (Fighting-type sync move)/Sygna Suit Chase and Melmetal to coincide with the High Score Event. Green appears as an NPC.
Dexio and Espeon/Sina and Glaceon for Eevee Day, with Bill and Dynamax Eevee as a F2P pair.
Ethan and Leafeon/Dawn and Glaceon, since they’re the last of the protagonists who would’ve received a gift Eevee.
Penny in the Lodge.
Happy Prize Box with Lyra, Kris, Lucas, Elio, Selene, and Penny.

Green Oak would like a boyfriend, and he's far too busy with university to get with anyone. But after he sends a confusing drunk text to their group chat, Sina is officially on the case! There's a catch though: Green must call Professor Sycamore "Daddy" for the next two days. Also, Red and Leaf are in town. What could possibly go wrong?
hiya i wrote another fic! rather, i've been working on this since august and just overcame the writers block i was having with it.
it was going to be a one shot but i ended up splitting it in half, i'll post the second part real soon. enjoy!

[part 1]
[tag list: @whalesharksart @sleepyboosstuff]
Steve starts out on his Pokemon journey at the ripe old age of ten, toddling into the Hawkins Laboratory empty-handed and coming out with Piplup’s Pokeball. Just like every other kid in his class. Unlike every other kid in his class, he also has the weight of his dad’s words hanging over his head.
Make me proud, son, his dad had said that morning, and every other morning between his tenth birthday and his appointment at the Lab to get his starter. I don’t want you back here until you’re Champion. His mom had smiled at that, like this was meant to be encouragement. Steve had smiled back, like fear hadn’t trickled down his spine like a particularly malevolent Muk.
So he sets out that day, zero experience under his belt and a sickening churning in his stomach. He discovers that he’s bad at battling pretty quickly—he hates seeing Piplup get hurt, and he doesn’t have the money yet to heal him after every battle. Piplup, to his chagrin, picks up on this right away, and takes to reassuring him after every battle, running over to Steve as soon as the other Pokemon has fainted and raising his flippers pointedly until Steve picks him up and hugs him close.
Steve loves his Piplup so, so much.
(The first time that Piplup doesn’t win a battle, Steve… freaks out, to put it lightly. He scoops him up and rushes him to the nearest Pokemon Center, completely forgetting to pay the other trainer, and anxiously waits the ten minutes that it takes for him to reach the front of the line and for Nurse Joy to put Piplup’s Pokeball in the machine.
Later, he finds the trainer and apologizes, only to be waved off with an understanding smile. “Hey, I get it,” she says lightly. “You might want to re-think the trainer career, though, if you can’t deal with your Pokemon getting hurt.”
Steve thinks on this and thinks and thinks. He’s still thinking.)
-
It takes him six years to beat all the gyms in the region, in the end. The last two take him a year each. By the end of those six years, Steve is tired. He hates battling, probably. It never feels natural no matter how many battles he goes through, but he likes the joy that it seems to give his Pokemon. Empoleon, ever in-tune with Steve, refuses to battle if it’s not for an official gym match. Steve both loves and hates him for it.
He makes a trip back to Hawkins after he beats the last gym, eight badges clutched tightly in their case. He’s not sure what to expect when he gets there, but before he even really has a chance to start wondering, he runs into Ms. Henderson as she’s outside watering her garden.
“Oh, dear,” she says. Steve can’t decipher if it’s a greeting or an exclamation of worry. “What are you doing back here?”
“Visiting my parents?” It comes out like a question. Steve shifts nervously. “Are they… not in town?”
“Oh, dear,” Ms. Henderson repeats, and this time it’s definitely worry. “Sweetie, they moved away a couple of years ago. Sold the house and everything. Didn’t they tell you?”
Steve hasn’t talked with his parents in over two years, not since his obligatory fourteenth birthday phone call that really only amounted to a status report on how far he’d made it through the gym challenge. Never once have they mentioned moving away from Hawkins. “Oh.” All he can think about is how this frees up his weekend.
Somehow, he gets invited into the Henderson’s house and talked into staying for lunch. He learns about how Dustin Henderson left on his Pokemon journey just a year ago, together with his group of friends. They’re interested in attempting the gym challenge, but they want to explore the region first. Dustin’s starter was a Turtwig. Turtwig is much more rambunctious than Dustin and is always getting into trouble before Dustin can rein him in. Dustin caught a Scatterbug and it just evolved into a Spewpa a few days ago. Ms. Henderson is excited to see what pattern the Vivillon will have when it evolves.
Over the course of two hours, Steve learns more about Dustin than he ever knew about Tommy or Carol when they were still friends.
“Oh, but I’m hoping Dusty will come back soon so he can take Growlithe with him,” Ms. Henderson frets. As if to prove her point, a Growlithe bounds into the living room and over to Steve, tail wagging a mile a minute.
Steve reaches out with both hands, digging his fingers into the thick fur of Growlithe’s scruff, and scratches furiously. Growlithe practically melts into his hands. “Who’s a good boy,” he coos. He’s always loved Growlithes, but his parents never let him keep one when growing up. Too much fur in the house. “Has he been giving you a lot of trouble?”
“He doesn’t really get along with my Skitty, which was fine when he was out all the time with Dustin, but my hip can’t keep up with him anymore.” Ms. Henderson also reaches over to pet Growlithe a few times. “He just has too much energy for this little town.”
Steve hesitates, chewing over his next words carefully. “I don’t want to overstep, but I can take him for now, if you want?”
Ms. Henderson gasps. “Would you? Oh, but I don’t want to burden you.”
“It’s no problem, really.” Steve shrugs. “I’ll leave my contact info with you. Whenever Dustin gets back, or if he’s in my area, he can give me a call and I’ll trade him Growlithe back.”
“It would make things a lot easier for me in the house,” Ms. Henderson says reluctantly.
“It’s settled, then.”
Steve walks out of the house with three boxes of leftovers and a Growlithe at his side. This is the warmest he’s ever felt leaving Hawkins, and it’s not just because Growlithe puts off heat like a furnace.
-
It takes another two years until he feels confident enough to challenge the first member of the Elite Four and only half an hour to prove himself right. Jim Hopper—also from Hawkins, funnily enough—takes the loss with grace, but he does look up at the ceiling and groan when he comes over to shake Steve’s hand. “The next generation’s starting to come for us,” he says wryly. Steve’s not quite sure what to say to that, not when he’s still shaking from adrenaline and thinking about the three fainted Pokemon on his belt.
He finds out afterward, after he’s healed all his Pokemon and checked them over personally and given them all celebratory meals, that he has two options: 1) since he’s of age, he can accept responsibility for the Elite Four gym and run it himself, which means that he becomes a member of the Elite Four and forfeits the right to challenge the other members of the Elite Four for a minimum of a year and the Champion for three years, or 2) he can continue onward with the Elite Four challenge and eventually make his way to the Champion.
He almost goes for option 2 on automatic, because that’s been his default for eight long years, but then he stops. And he thinks.
He hasn’t talked to his parents in four years. He doesn’t know where they are, and he can’t really be bothered to care either. He knows for sure that he managed to disappoint them somehow a long time ago already. Maybe it was the fact that it took him so many years to finish the gym challenge. Maybe it was the way he battled, long and drawn out and clumsy, with none of the brutal efficiency of his dad that Steve vaguely remembers from the recordings he used to watch. Maybe he just never had a chance to begin with.
Either way, Steve doesn’t have to give a single thought to what they want out of him anymore. And he doesn’t want to be Champion.
Option 1 it is.
“Hey, you can always call me if you need anything, kid,” Hopper says gruffly when he’s handing Steve the keys to his gym. “No one expects you to know the ropes right off the bat.”
“Thanks.”
Even after Hopper leaves, Steve doesn’t walk into the building. He just stands there, looking blankly at the giant metal structure, and trying to convince himself that it’s his now. “Steve Harrington, Elite Four,” he murmurs to himself under his breath. He wonders if he’ll ever get used to the sound of it.
(It’s not until a year later—a terrifying, whirlwind of a year—that Steve realizes there’s actually a third option: stop being a Pokemon trainer and actually do something that he likes for once.)
-
The year that Steve is on the Elite Four, several things happen:
1. He meets his soulmate, twin from another mother, in the form of a trainer employed at the gym, Robin Buckley. She’s one of the only reasons that Steve manages to survive the ensuing chaos with his sanity even remotely intact.
2. Steve finds out that he has absolutely no talent whatsoever for running a gym, but he does like helping the other trainers with their Pokemon and running training exercises when he can. It’s sort of like being a babysitter, if the babies were covered in metal plates and absolutely capable of giving him a concussion.
3. Dustin Henderson, with absolutely no attention whatsoever to gym protocol, bursts in and demands to speak to him.
4. Steve finds out that the Hawkins Lab has been conducting awful-gross-abhorrent experiments with the aim of giving humans Pokemon abilities, and Dustin needs help taking it down. Steve is apparently the most powerful trainer from Hawkins that he knows, which is the only reason why he trekked all the way out here to find him.
5. Dustin knows about this because one of his friends, Will Byers, was kidnapped to be a subject. Steve remembers Will, faintly. A quiet kid, sweet, liked to draw. The whole thing makes Steve sick to his stomach.
6. Steve drags Dustin, Hopper, and Robin (who is, shockingly, also from Hawkins) with him back to his hometown, where they confront Professor Brenner.
7. In the ensuing battle, Steve works on freeing as many of the captives as possible, which takes the form of asking his Lucario to fire a Hyper Beam at the wall and making sure that no one trips over the rubble as they flee. A Tinkatink, too terrified to move, and a little girl with hair buzzed close to her head, are the last ones left. Steve, not wanting to waste time with figuring out if the Pokemon already has a Pokeball, tucks them each under an arm and gets the fuck out of there.
8. He’s not sure how everything after that happens, really, but Dustin and Hopper meet Steve and Robin at the Pokemon Center when the dust has settled, Will and Joyce Byers in tow. The Tinkatink and the girl—Eleven, apparently, which had broken Steve’s heart—have refused to leave his side.
9. Steve eventually manages to convince El (not Eleven) to go with Hopper. Hopper promises to stay behind and keep everything running smoothly in the town, or as smoothly as things can go when it’s been revealed that the town’s Professor has been running a human experimentation scheme under their noses this whole time. The Tinkatink is a lost cause. Steve adds her to his roster.
10. Steve and Robin troop back to his gym, where Steve promptly has an existential crisis and wonders if he should just quit being a trainer altogether. “Yeah, why not, dingus?” Robin asks him quietly as they look up at the stars together one night. “I don’t think I’ve ever really seen you be happy here.”
And then, a few weeks later, Steve’s contract expires. It takes embarrassingly little thought to pack his things, write Robin a quick note (‘Hey, headed back to Hawkins. Elite Four thing’s not for me. See ya.’), and hop on his Corviknight.
When he arrives in Hawkins, he finds Hopper losing his mind trying to keep all of the kids and Pokemon in order. “Please tell me you’re here to relieve me,” he says, half-jokingly, but Steve can hear the desperation hidden under there. Steve relishes his shock when he tells him that yeah, actually, he is.
In the time it takes Hopper to sort everything out with Joyce Byers (Steve’s not going to question that relationship too much) and move back to his gym, Robin has stormed her way over to Hawkins and back into Steve’s life.
“I can’t believe you thought this was enough of a goodbye, you asshole,” she yells as Steve stacks boxes of Pokeballs to move out of the Lab. “Steve! Are you even listening, dingus?”
“Robin,” he says, catching her flailing arms before she manages to hurt herself. “It wasn’t gonna ever be a goodbye, dingus. I wrote ‘see ya,’ didn’t I?”
Robin’s lower lip wobbles, and Steve realizes that he might’ve miscalculated when he penned the note. “God, I hate you so much,” she says, and wraps him in a hug like a particularly bony Octillery. Steve figures he’s forgiven.
Over the next few weeks, Steve gradually moves everything out from the Lab and converts an unused storefront in town into a Nursery. It feels like a natural choice—most of the Pokemon from the Lab were only babies. He comes to be known as That Person Who Takes Care of Baby Pokemon, and eventually, That Person Who Takes Care of Pokemon in General. It’s the convenient option for most people, especially when no one wants to go to the Pokemon Center two towns away for a checkup.
Ms. Henderson stops by with a casserole. Joyce Byers stops by with stock from the PokeMart. Will Byers stops by with a Sliggoo, which he apparently picked up at the Lab. It has a hard shell and doesn’t look like any Sliggoo Steve’s ever seen. He tentatively stamps it with a clean bill of health and tells him to contact him immediately if it ever shows signs of wanting world domination or anything like that. Will laughs, but Steve’s being mostly serious.
He’s busy pretty much from the second he wakes until the second he collapses into bed, or whenever Robin decides that he needs a break and forcibly closes the Nursery for a day. It’s the most busy he’s ever been, even if he includes when he first started running the gym, and it’s also the happiest he’s ever been.
“I don’t regret this at all,” he tells Robin one night, looking up at the same stars as they always do. It’s a particularly clear night, and the stars glimmer brightly. He wonders if Jirachi had been listening that day, had heard his unspoken wish and granted it for him.
“Yeah, I know,” she says softly. “Me neither.”
In a moment, they’re both going to trudge inside and curl up in bed after a long day, and tomorrow they’re going to wake up and do it again. But for now, they sit together quietly under the light of the stars.

Kintsugi - ch.4
Pairing: Coach!Levi x Injured fem!Reader
CW: themes of injury, depression, and hopelessness. 18+ minors and ageless blogs dni.
wc: 3.5k
a/n: You all know the drill, thank you @tobbi-loves-levi for going over this chapter with me and helping me make it everything I wanted 💗
previous / masterlist / dividers
An inviting herbal scent fills the air in Levi’s office, complemented nicely with a warm room temperature. While outside it’s quite hot around this time of June, the center is pretty consistently freezing; especially the ice rink. The printer whirls behind Levi’s office chair while he leans back with his arms stretched out to catch the papers as they slide out. He gathers them together, tapping them once on the desk before flipping open your file and placing them at the back. The start of your fifth week means you’re more than halfway through your estimated treatment plan with Levi.
Levi spins the folder around so it’s facing you and scoots his chair in to lean over it, using his pen to point out specific milestones you have reached. “I think we should change our Wednesdays to off ice days for the remainder of our sessions.” He mentions as he flips through the pages. “Keep Mondays and Fridays as our rink days. Sound alright?” You nod in agreement, following Levi's pen as he goes through a loose schedule of goals he wants to reach over the next couple of weeks.
“Sign here, then we can head down.” He double taps the signature line. “Oh, and you might want to think about reaching out to Tarasov again if you’re serious about getting involved once skating season begins.”
You hadn’t considered how fast the time has gone by. Skating season starts in July and your sessions with Levi are on route to wrap up in just a few weeks. You should be happy, everything you worked for is starting to pay off and soon enough you’ll be working on getting back into competitions. Bit by bit all of your goals are being met, so why does your heart ache for more time?
“You coming, or did you want to spend today’s session staring at my desk?” Levi asks. You’re not sure how long you went without responding to him.
Your mind is elsewhere for the beginning of today’s session while you did your warm up basics, up until you had no choice but to put all of your mental energy into your target goal for today. Levi has you do Waltz jumps until you could do them with your eyes closed. By the time you move onto spins for the rest of your time, you think if you had to do another waltz you’d pull the hair out of your head. That’s the thing about Levi, he understands when something’s too much to handle but once he’s sure you can do it he’s not so easy on you. Funnily enough it’s one of your favorite things about him, and one of the leading reasons you can say you're making progress. He won't let you give up.
***
On Wednesday you show up early again to watch Levi skate. Even though you know you won't be on the ice today, it’s still nice to be around it. Your fear of being turned away fades when he sees you standing at the boards and continues on with his routine anyways. Erwin shows up shortly after you and stands to your left. You can't help but be curious about him. He and Levi seem close, in fact you’ve never really seen Levi talk to anyone casually outside of erwin.
It doesn’t take long for the two of you to start talking, neither of you taking your eyes off Levi. You learn that Erwin is a personal trainer based in the basketball wing of Sina, though he takes clients of any sport. He met Levi seven years ago when he first started working here because surprisingly enough, he’s a huge fan of ice sports. Soon you come to find that Erwin and Levi are a lot closer than you originally assumed. They even hangout outside of work too, though as Erwin put it, “it took some convincing.” With how reluctant Levi is to open up, you believe that.
Levi finishes off with three consecutive jumps before gliding off towards the rink’s exit to get out of his skates.
“He adds one member to the audience and suddenly pulls out the big moves. Show off.” Erwin huffs out a laugh and thanks you for the pleasant conversation before turning and heading off.
Off-ice starts off as it usually would, stretches, ankle exercises, balance board, and spinners. Somewhere down the line you and Levi were practicing throws again. You don't know how it happened but you don’t care. It’s productive because it still helps you build back the skill of landing on your ankle and get used to the feeling of air time again. You slowly work on adding more rotations before landing and eventually Levi feels more comfortable throwing you higher.
You dont think you’ll ever get tired of the feeling of Levi’s hands on you. It feels safe, he makes you feel light. No matter what, you're confident Levi would never put you at risk for another injury. There's no wiggle room in competitive figure skating. Everything has its order, but it doesn't feel that way with him. In a way you almost feel like he sets you free from that mindset. Even if it’s only for a small chunk of time each session. The following week, it’s now just an unspoken part of your routine.
***
You quickly learn that time is not a generous thing, the whole next week of sessions goes by much faster than you expected. You blame this on the fact that the more you worked with Levi the better you were getting. Once you started to get a handle on skating again after so much time off the ice it started to become more fun rather than something you needed to do to heal.
Every day that week, you showed up to watch Levi skate before your sessions. When you weren’t completely mesmerized by him, you took the opportunity to watch his form in real time rather than how he would present it to you during therapy. You think that helped you get things down as quickly as you are.
This week marks the beginning of your last two weeks with Levi, and it’s all that you think about. That’s only six more sessions, two of which aren’t even on the ice. It’s not that you didn't think you were ready, no, you know you are. Levi has talked enough sense into you the last couple weeks to have you sure of that, paired with your progress he showed you in your file. It’s clear that you are recovering and building your skill back to how it was before your accident. It was scary to think about doing this without Levi, you still haven’t taken his advice on reaching out to your old coach. The second you do that it will just feel that much more real. You know how irresponsible it is to put off too, which only made it worse.
Monday you show up to watch Levi skate as usual, quickly noticing that Erwin isn’t here. When he sees you he skates over to the board to greet you, which he usually doesn’t do. When he meets you at the boards he’s quiet for a moment, you can’t quite read the subtle expression on his face.
“Do you want to come out here with me?” He asks, his question throwing you off a little.
“What, like early?” You ask.
“No,” he pauses, brows furrowed lightly. Is he nervous? “To skate.”
“You want me to skate with you?”
“That’s what I said. Hurry up before I change my mind.” He says, pushing off the boards and skating off. That’s all you needed to hear. You pick up your bag and rush over to the bench to put your skates on, triple checking the laces before going out onto the ice with him.
Levi meets up with you in the middle of the rink where you stand. “What should I do?” you ask, feeling lost without your usual directions.
“Whatever you want.” Levi says “Don’t you ever skate for fun?”
You think about it, and you can honestly say that you don't. You haven’t since your accident and even before you can’t think of the last time you went ice skating for anything other than to maintain or improve your skill. “No.” You shake your head lightly.
“Ah,” Levi hums “explains why you’re so damn hard on yourself. You know you should kind of enjoy this right?” His words sink deep, he’s right. You watch him as he zips off, all you can think to do is bits of your program from Nationals. You take out more of the extreme moves knowing Levi wouldn’t want you doing anything you haven’t worked much on during your sessions together.
It’s slow, it’s choppy, but you landed everything you attempted. You stayed balanced on your ankle every time you tried, but it’s so hard to be reminded that it’s not the same. Thoughts creep in swiftly. How could you ever compete again? Especially when even after all the improvement you couldn’t even stitch together a smooth program.
“It’s almost like you dont need me anymore.” Levi comments as he meets back up with you. You wouldn’t say it outloud to him, but it only made you feel worse. It seems like Levi knows you more than you give him credit for. He doesn’t expand on that thought, but instead he asks if you want to try one with him.
You agree, it would make it fun just like the throws you practice. Levi gives you a sequence that’s easy to follow and of course only includes two of the simpler jumps the two of you have worked on together as of recently. Essentially this is a pairs program, which is entirely new to you.
Levi counts the two of you down to start off together, pushing off in sync you go through the motions with him. He starts off with his hand hovering over your lower back behind you, making sure you stay in line with him. Only when he’s sure you can stay in your path does he pull his hand back, allowing the two of you to go off into your first harmonized spin and jump combo.
After going through the routine two more times it’s almost flawless, even you could tell. You lean over with your hands on your knees “Do you want to try that throw?” You asked through labored breaths, though you were half joking. Levi won’t even entertain it.
“Absolutely not. You need a break anyways.” You catch your breath by the boards with Levi standing across from you, seemingly unphased by the repeated routine the two of you just did.
“Have you ever had Erwin come out here with you?”
“Tried. He says he doesn’t want to become one of my clients.”
You laugh before taking a drink from your water bottle and setting it back down on the ledge. You find yourself thinking over your routine with Levi again, and his words from earlier. You should be having fun skating and it was clear Levi did so you wonder.
“Do you ever miss competing?” You ask him, nervous that he may not appreciate the question.
“Every day.” His answer was not hesitant this time.
“You should get back into it.” You say softly.
“I can’t.” He replies and you can see by the look on his face it’s hard for him to talk about this. He’s being short, but not unwilling.
“Are you kidding? Levi, you’re incredible out there.” Your expression softens as you try to be hopeful, maybe he just needs to hear it from someone.
“That’s not my life anymore.” Out of all the weeks you’ve known him, you’ve never heard him sound so sad. Levi anxiously pulls at the hem of his sleeve before pulling it up and checking his watch “It’s time to start our session.”
You ease off it, watching as he moves to skate towards the center of the rink. For the first time you don’t look forward to your session, the more you complete the more it dawns on you; your time with Levi is almost up.
That’s when it hits you
An idea.
***
Nervous is an understatement. Honestly, you felt like you were driving yourself crazy. When you came up with this idea, you thought it through a million times. It’s the scariest thing because if it doesn’t work out you’re screwed. You couldn’t keep it to yourself, you needed advice, and who better to ask than your best friend.
Mikasa shows up around seven, prepared for your agreed upon sleepover plans made on Monday night with a set of comfy clothes and carry out from your favorite restaurant for dinner. When she let you know Friday night works for her you were thankful the weeks were going by so fast. You let her in and head straight to the couch, where you enjoy the meal while you start the first episode of a new series.
“Well,” Mikasa hums when the two of you mutually decide to take a break from the show. “you’ve been awfully quiet about how it’s going in therapy.”
You smile over at her, turning your body to face her. “Honestly? It was tough at first, I’m not going to lie. It’s a lot better now.”
“So Levi didn’t scare you off then?” She jokes. “He won’t tell me anything, says you’re a client like any other so,” she trails off.
“The opposite actually. He's,” You pause for a moment, breaking your eye contact with Mikasa. “He’s amazing. There’s no way I could have made any of the progress I have without him.” You tell her everything. Your progress in physical therapy, the clever ways Levi challenged your anxiety, even the throws and skating together before your sessions; another thing that became an unspoken addition to your routines with Levi.
“He even opened up a little bit here and there about some of the things he struggled with after his injury.” You mention, and Mikasa’s eyes shoot open. Genuine shock taking over her expression.
“Really?” She breathes.
“Just a little.” You say, shrugging. “I don’t know much, just that it seemed hard. I can’t even imagine.”
Mikasa takes a minute to think about how to respond. “We didn’t see him for over a year. He skipped birthdays, holidays. His mom was sick over it for so long.” Mikasa gets quiet again. “He wasn’t the same for a long time, to this day he won’t speak about it.” It was difficult to hear, but made you wonder why Levi was so different around you. Why would he be more willing to answer your questions over his own family? You were scared more than ever now to bring up the idea you’ve been holding in the whole night.
“It sounds like he really likes you.” Mikasa says. “Seems like he found a friend in you.” It sounds silly, even coming from Mikasa. At the end of the day you aren’t oblivious to the fact that you’re a client of Levi’s, not a friend. As much as you wanted to push back you had more pressing matters on your mind.
“Can I ask you something?” You brace yourself for the words that are about to come out of your mouth.
“Sure,” Mikasa says softly.
“It might sound crazy,” You begin nervously. “I was thinking about asking him to be my coach after therapy is finished. It’s a shot in the dark, but I know I can do it with him.” You can’t help but feel like along with advice, you’re also asking for her blessing.
“I think that’s a great idea.” A warm smile spreads across Mikasa’s face, her eyes lighting up.
***
A long sigh escaped your lips as you plop down on the bench, your whole body surging with ache. Levi had chosen the last week of sessions to work on the more advanced jumps and spins. It was more so to make sure he could send you off to your coach confident that you knew what you were doing, and that you would be able to build your skill back up while training for competitions.
Levi approaches you after he takes his own skates off, bumping your skate with his shoe to get your attention “What’s going on with you.” His tone laced with concern.
“Huh?” You pick your head up, your confusion painted clearly across your face.
“Something’s on your mind. This isn’t the week to lose focus.” He says plainly.
You shake your head, turning your gaze back down and directing your attention back on getting your skates off so there was no chance for him to read your facial expression. Proving him right. “Everything’s fine Levi,” You try to assure him. The truth is, you were trying to wait until the last day to ask him. That way if it went badly you’d never have to face him again. Part of you didn’t even know why you were so worried about it. You set your skate on your lap, dragging a cloth across the blade to dry it before putting it away.
“The past four sessions you’ve been somewhere else. Today you barely even spoke.” His words cut through your chest, you forget how observant he is sometimes. “This is the most important part, I can’t release you unprepared.”
“I didn’t fall once today.” You point out, in fact your session today felt a lot like your regular training. Just practicing to maintain.
“You know that’s not what I meant.” Levi says. “Don’t tell me you’re second guessing about getting back into competitive skating.”
You zip your bag up after dropping your other skate inside, whipping your attention back up at Levi. “No! Of course not.” You assure. Just looking at him hurts a little, you start to doubt your plan. It would uplift his whole career to take you under his wing, it almost felt selfish. You should be able to do this with Tarasov. Hell, she got you to Worlds the first time. You know reaching out to her this late would earn you being scolded for waiting until the last second.
Levi’s knit eyebrows relax and he drops his shoulders, visibly relieved. He stands there for a moment before letting out a sigh and giving up. “Fine, come back on Wednesday more sharp.” He turns around and heads off towards the door, picking up his own skate bag as he walks past it. Panic rises to the surface, you wish you could yell out to him, tell him you don’t want to have to do this with anyone other than him. In an instant you decide that you can do just that. You stand up and grab your bag, haphazardly stuffing your feet into your shoes before taking off after him. Your bag swishes behind you every time your shoes hit the ground
“Levi!” You don’t mean to shout so close behind him. He flinches when you grab his shoulder to stop him, causing him to turn and face you. “I lied, sorry.” you start.
“Alright. So what is it?” Levi says, one eyebrow raised as he tenses up slightly under your light grasp.
“Hear me out, okay?” You bite your lip, waiting for his confirmation and continuing when he tilts his head slightly. “I’ve been thinking about it a lot- the whole week actually. I think I’ve made so much progress with you, and I know this is our last week,” You aren’t holding back, and no matter how much your body screams to do so you don’t look away from him. “And I don’t need an answer right away, it’s sort of a big deal so-“
“Spit it out.” He cuts you off, his puzzled look now replaced with one of nervousness, eyes wide as he looks directly into your eyes.
“Levi, please will you be my coach?” You say it, finally able to catch your breath from the combination of sprinting after Levi and rambling with no breaths in between. “Like my real coach, after we finish therapy.”
Levi stares at you, his jaw slack. He almost looked.. appalled? You wish you knew exactly what’s going through his mind.
“I know it’s a huge request, like I said. Think about it.” You try. “I think we could take gold, really-“
“No.” Levi turns his head, squeezing his eyes shut and gritting his teeth. Like he is physically unable to look at you. Time stands still, this is by far the worst case scenario that you feared.
“Wait..” You say in a hushed tone.
“The answer’s no.” He confirms, lips parted slightly like he wants to say more but nothing comes out. He takes a step back. “Just..I’ll see you Wednesday.” With that he turns completely and walks out, leaving you behind.

I wouldn't say I dislike Sina and Dexio as characters (they're too unremarkable for that), but I was never fond of the way they were used in XY because I felt Sycamore sending them to aid us kinda robbed us of an interesting confrontation between him and Lysandre.
Like, the idea of the main villain and a major ally character being friends was a really cool idea that just got pretty much zero development, and the game tries to excuse it with Sycamore going, "Oh, I'm not that tough!" when he's a competent-enough Trainer to be carrying around three Lv50s with full movesets, which, btw, not even Wulfric, THE LAST GYM LEADER IN THE GAME, had (his Abomasnow only has three attacks). Plus, if we can count his demo Pokemon too, that adds Crobat, Chandelure, and DRAGONITE to his team. Bad at battling/not so tough, my ass!
It would have made a mid storyline more memorable if he had joined you on your raid, or if Lysandre had Flare kidnap him in order to save his friend from the culling (justifying Sina and Dexio joining in more as a rescue mission), with the confrontation coming after that final battle with Lysandre, but ultimately failing to get thru to his old friend.
(It was one of the reasons Sycamore was my least favorite Professor at one point. Evolutions and Masters fixed my complaints about him by having him challenge Lysandre on his beliefs, and the latter even shows he's the one person who can get Lysandre to back down a bit and at least provide them an opportunity to make the world a better place this time. In XY tho, he just kinda seemed like a fairweather friend never attempting to try to talk Lysandre down and regretting it later, after his friend had--at least at the time. Like, Masters uses the original Lys tho isn't canon, and who knows what PLZA will do--apparently died when the base got nuked.)

Sycamore collects ppl and i feel like that parallel w lysandre coulda been interesting to explore (though it reminds me more of lusamine than anyone else)
2 yrs ago he recruited dexio and sina, two ace trainers who are strong enough to moonlight as superheroes and know enough about the professors research AND technology to make a virus to stop lysandre's spyware in the holocaster
1 yr ago he recruited trevor, son of well known, RICH traveling trainers (and tierno, who is irrelevant)
and at the start of the game he planned on recruiting the rival: child of another famous trainer; and possibly shauna who is close with the tech genius clemont. he chooses to recruit u also because of the connection to your celebrity mother

꒰ loreish / one . . . ꒱
before the new year , i really wanted to get the major parts of marianne's backstory on my blog at the very least . i feel like i've done her a bit of a disservice by not talking about or introducing her character , honestly ? so . .⊹ ࣪ ˖
note : probably veryy suspect to rewrites in the future , there are def some kinks i need to iron out ehe ;
⊱ marianne ( marionette ) is an early to mid twenty year old former contest star from castelia city , unova . . .
⊱ having been born and raised there , she saw the increase of the populous as a result of the business / career boom that began early in her early childhood ⊱ rent in metropolitan cities is abysmal as is , but with the sheer number of people moving for work this only makes the issue worse ⊱ so , instead of pursuing anything trainer adjacent - she opts to take up work as a barista at café sonata to help out the household ! ⊱ ( which is fine , she finds battles too intense and violent for her taste )
⊱ she's already quite awkward and shy but learns quickly to build something of a ' work persona ' for herself and although this is draining , she finds solace in the day dreams she conjures up between customers ⊱ she has hyperphantasia and , if she's lucky enough to be working while the café's resident musician is on , the music sparks all kinds of inspiration in her and fuels these little fantasies she tends to escape to ⊱ and that one time she heard him play the relic song sends her into a spiral /pos ⊱ ( orders a coffee on her breaks and stares into the cup like a trance - was shaken out of it at one point by her coworker and was very embarrassed ) ⊱ ( she has her breaks outside now where she can still vaguely hear the music but be percieved less ) ⊱ her coworkers are a bit . . thrown off ? by the fact she can handle customer service just fine but if they talk to her one on one she stutters and replies in short sentences
⊱ and as much as marianne loves the stars , castelias light pollution makes it hard to really see them . ⊱ not to mention travelling to see the northern lights is just a dream considering all her money goes to living expenses ⊱ so her past time at home becomes making light spectacles with her pokemon on the roof of her room to whatever music she's resonating with at the time ⊱ it's not the same thing , but it'll do - she's not confident enough to find a decent star gazing spot in the city , anyway ⊱ this is how she gets into contests , after the attack on opelucid ( any maybe castelia depending on which source ) she has a bit of a rude awakening to the fact she's been maybe just a little bit complacent with her life ?
⊱ having always valued and appreciated the idea of self expression ( something she felt she couldn't embody in her barista career ) she opts to enter unovas contest circuit once it opens back up ⊱ ( considering the on going investiagions and the time it takes for the clearance of kyurems true ice it puts a halt to things for a while and thus , gives her some time to reherse and practice before the circuit starts )
⊱ she starts taking less shifts to accomodate for this - her mother supports her entirely given all her teen years were invested into helping make ends meet ⊱ and eventually she participates , to a good degree of success ⊱ in part due to her ability to visualise routines so accurately given her hyperphantasia ⊱ she places third in her first year and wins her most recent with a new team consisting of an espurr , illumise , lumineon and glalie ⊱ glalie - in particular - she uses as a means to try and ease the anxieties the public has around ice types after the team plasmas assault on oppelucid ( and again , maybe castelia depending on source ? ) ⊱ this ( in the future ) is how sina and her become close : she expresses how unfortunate it is that unovans were fearful about ice types for a time and that they're in fact , very pretty and gentle ⊱ snow and ice, after all , is beautiful ; the coldest places are where you see the northern lights
⊱ between her second and third things get . . . not so great ? ⊱ although she's always been confident at maintaining a ' work persona ' , unlike her barista job it's become something that's overtaken her ' public ' one - the lines are starting to blur ⊱ she's not immensely popular , considering she's more of a ' rising star ' and her previous placements make her more of an ' underdog ' type with a cult following ig ? not to mention that the contest scene is a bit of a semi - niche interest ⊱ but whatever interviews and articles are written in regards to performances in unova it all depicts her in a light that's not how she feels she truly is at her core ⊱ it's just a character she embodies after all - she's not that confident or poised by any means ⊱ her persona is also a problem when it comes to interpersonal relationships ⊱ as a relatively shy and closed off individual that's had trouble making friends she takes any forms of friendly approach as genuine but of course this isn't often the case ⊱ it's very much a matter of other contestants and her former coworkers wanting to befriend her given her current status ⊱ which she naively overlooks until they get burned out and turn away because she's actually rather quiet and shut off ⊱ they just haven't the patience to put up with ( what they perceive as ) a completely different person ⊱ this is unfortunately also a result of most of her interactions not being with friends ( not like she had many ) but primarily with customers or as a sort of public figure to her supporters ⊱ they expect different - someone that's more open and extroverted but that , she is not ⊱ her unique way of talking throws them off something fierce as well ⊱ she catches on to this pattern after a while and it's quite disheartening , they didn't want to know her for her but rather the person , idea or ' product ' she was advertising
⊱ and this , going into her third year , makes her quite high strung ⊱ there's talk with the board about her being one of the circuits ' promoters ' similar to lisia which she dances around to the best of her degree ( it's obviously not something she wants )
⊱ they expect her to wear this mask at all times ? hard pass . . . ⊱ she's in this to express herself and connect with an audience , share her vision , not be a face of the sport ⊱ she's beginning to have an identity crisis - where does she truly start and her stage persona actually end ? how much of who she presents to people is an act ect. ect. ⊱ it gets to her . and by the time of her second performance , third year of participating in contests , she fumbles her steps and her arm grazes an ice type move ⊱ it's all broadcasted - there are children in attendance and the result of the accident is severe ice burn up her left forearm ⊱ nothing like this has happened for over almost decade in regards to contests or gym battles for that matter and instead of her stage persona being the focus of whatever media coverage she had , it's now this accident that's taken the forefront ⊱ it doesn't help that the public is still rattled by ice type pokemon and moves in general - the fear in them is still fresh , so this them twice as hard ⊱ and when the media does eventually approach her after she's healed she handles that interaction very , very unceremoniously . ⊱ media training be damned - she's worn out and doesn't have the strength anymore ⊱ filled with guilt and feeling as if she needs to live in the shadow of her stage persona , she begins to isolate ⊱ she doesn't blame her glalie but she benches / boxes him for a time until she feels she's ' ready ' to face everything that's transpired ⊱ then makes the impulsive decision to move and start over. she has enough winnings over the past few years that her mother is comfortable and marianne can in fact , move without any financial trouble

Favorite Pokémon Trainer of Each Type Meme
When I went looking for some Pokémon Memes, I always find stuff like "Favorite Pokémon of Each Type", but never "Favorite Pokémon TRAINER of Each Type", so I decided to change one and turn it into that because trainers also deserves to shine
(And I think we all have a favorite Pokémon Trainer of a certain type, don't we ?)
Normal : Larry Okuba
