Hello and welcome my giftee, santas, elves and people from the North pole! I am submitting my Klaine Secret Santa fic finally and I'm so excited!

Decided to save my outfits for my Pokemon Go Trainer, who may or may not end up as a pokemon oc if I can just remember he exists /lh

General vibes is he's essentially an eccentric wanderer who just pops up wherever, instantly recognizable by his ghastly style. (Although ftr the Arlo outfit is just for funsies, not necessarily smth he wears canonically. Probably...)

I want him to be in Legendkeepers but I'm not sure what role he'd have since he's meant to be a drifter... although of my team from PoGo, Mewtwo is one of the top 3, as well as a pokemon I can't see joining any of my more traditional trainers/champions, so maybe there's potential there....

Extra rambling about team under the cut, with an image for preservational purposes for me:

Based on my pokemon, his team would consist of Devastator the metagross, Maddie the gengar, Calliope the gyarados, Heidi the flareon and Iris the alolan muk.

If I don't give him Kitty the mewtwo it'd probably be either Rene the Roserade, Eggcellent the Exeggutor, or Jet the Garchomp.

He also will have Betsy the (eventual) Wailord, she's been my walking buddy for literal years due to how many candies she needs + my own infrequency

So where do you suppose Lance got his Charizard from? Because as far as I can tell, his clan doesn't tend to hand out Charmander for its members to train. It's almost certainly due to his League connections that he has one (and in fact got one for Clair if not outright breeding his).

Hi there @ether-gearhead! Good question! I wouldn't entirely rule out the Blackthorn Clan giving him a Charmander. The Charizard line is considered dragons despite only have a dragon type in one mega evolution. The fact that both him and Clair have one actually leads me to believe that they could have gotten one from the Dragon's Den, it just may be for higher ranking members like both of them appear to be. Most of the trainers in the den have either a Kingdra or Dragonite line Pokemon. This may be Blackthorn clan's version of starters where other draconic Pokemon like the Charizard Line, the Gyarados line and maybe even Aerodactyl being given after a trainer proves themselves with the "starters" Now I'm not at all discounting that they got their Charmander from the league. The leagues in general seems to have tight regulation on the starters in a region. And at least by the time of the Pokemon World Tournament, Blaine also has a Charizard which makes since given he does train fire types. Falkner doesn't which makes him the only of the four characters from Kanto-Johto outside of protags and rivals that it would make sense to have been given a Charizard from the league. So the idea that the league gave Lance Charmander to train makes a whole lot of sense So officially, it can go either way. Now as it comes to fans like us who often interpret the Pokemon world via speculation, fanfic and fanart I think deciding where Lance gets his Charmander from depends on which institution (the Indigo League or the Dragon's Den) you want to focus worldbuilding on
