Oggies - recipe 2 - Nanna Lucy’s Recipes. Quite excited but also scared about this one. Full disclosure I have a nemesis in the kitchen and that is pastry. . . I have always struggled with pastry. I can make pretty much all kinds of cakes and cookies but my pastry has always turned out rather … ummmm… patchwork like. . . I did used to get away with it while I was working as a chef as mostly either we had a proper baker, bought pastry products in or bought premade pastry to make what we needed. . . At home there is nowhere to hide so this year I really do want to get better on top of it and this is my first attempt. I figured making manna’s Oggies would help as it’s her pastry recipe. . . For the record the pastry is amazing!!! It literally dissolved in your mouth. Sure it’s not Pinterest worthy (my fault cos my hands don’t like doing delicate things) but I am really proud of these. . . Awesomely tasty and a taste of childhood I had forgotten until now. They also have the Tanny stamp of approval so that is a MAHOOSIVE win!!! These will definitely be made more often and that will help my pastry skills YAY!!! DHAM: the traditional feast of Himachal Pradesh ADESH ADESH !!!! VERY OVERWHELMED to receive the invitation for DHAM, in one of my friends home on the occasion of a FAMILY function. The DHAM holds a great significance in the hilly state culture. It was KANGRA DISTRCTS DHAM . As I learned that around, 1,500 years ago, Jaistambh, the then King of Himachal Pradesh, liked the Kashmiri Wazwan so much that he ordered his cooks to prepare a similar meal without using meat. Thus a new menu was evolved in Himachali cuisine, eventually known as dham. The traditional way of having dham is by sitting together on the floor in a line.
