The 6th House and Bad Fortunes
In Hellenistic astrology the 6th house is referred to the “place of bad fortune”, connected to disease and decline in vitality. Here it’s more associated with hardships and illness than daily routines and activities. This is due to it being twelve houses away from the 7th house, which would mean imprisonment to significant commitments, like our health and vitality.
It represents the challenges that arise when our creative and romantic aspirations meet reality. By addressing the issues related to health, routines, and service we can transform the challenges here into opportunities.

I AM SO SICK OF POP CULTURE BS MODERN ASTROLOGY , LORD FREE ME FROM THE SHACKLES OF HAVING TO READ THESE SELF ASSURED MODERN TAKES.
If I have to see one more comment or post relying on the ABC house system or modern rulerships I'm gonna crash out fr. What a tragically bastardised ancient art astrology has become.
If you really want to understand and appreciate astrology, you must understand it's context and the richer symbolic meanings behind its foundations (e.g. thema mundi, trad rulership and by extension reevaluating your understanding of the planets and signs, dignities, whole signs, Egyptian terms, chaldean decans, lots etc). This is especially vital for predictive work e.g electional and horary astrology.
Not everything modern is bad, i use many modern things myself. But better discernment is needed in order to separate misinformation and deep misunderstanding from something that is genuinely pertinent, and learning traditional (e.g. hellenistic astrology) can help with this. You have to let go of overly subjective interpretations from 'working backwards on a chart analysis and seeking confirmation bias , and you have to let go of default modern premises which you probably never questioned. Trust me, I learnt the hard way. There are a few things which I didn't agree with in hellenistic astro when I first started just because I couldn't relate it to myself or others...rookie error fr💀🤡🤡
Nothing is more freeing than taking the long and initially confusing plunge into the "scary complex" og astrology that is traditional astrology. Especially when you're trying to unlearn so much bs which you dont even think is bs at first. But it is so worth it. Once you properly understand the foundations of it , it becomes so much clearer to see the implications of these nonsense modern takes.
I've been super busy lately and suffering from my lack of executive function so I haven't written as many posts as I'd have liked to yet. But more will come eventually🤞. In the meantime, some extremely helpful resources to get started:
- Chris Brennan / The Astrology Podcast (his books are also good apparently)
- On The Heavenly Spheres: A Treaty on Traditional Astrology by Helena Avelar & Luis Ribeiro (pdf of this is easy to find online. Very solid primer into trad astro)
- Astrology and the Authentic Self , and Ancient Astrology in Theory and Practice , both by Demetra George
- Sevenstarsastrology.com - an absolutely fantastic blog writer who deep dives into plenty of traditional topics. E.g. 12th parts , antiscia , arabic lots, and some more basic things too. Long articles/lessons but extremely extremely informative. Genuine goldmine.
- Patrick Watson, he alao writes some brilliant articles too. His article on the ABC house system was especially useful in getting me out those trenches.
- @/illuminiah , @/0degreestaurus, @/ellieremotigue, @/saturnandhoney, @/ilanastrology, @/bloodyjupiter_ are all just a few tiktok accounts off the top of my head which have been very helpful in helping me unlearn modern shit.
- Nightlightastrology on Youtube / Adam Elenbaas
- Lee Lehman is especially good for horary and electional according to my horary-specialised friends
- Robert Hand
- u_StellaGraphia on reddit posts some amazing explanations (in comment sections usually) , really helpful stuff
- my other posts so far
- stop reading costar, cafe astrology, astroseek, etc interpretations :)

Astrological Fame indicators per Hellenistic astrology ⭐️🎬
Tumblr media
Now before we even get into this let’s make some things very clear; fame can mean a range of things, it can mean going viral, it can mean being a best selling author, it can mean being on tv, on the news or even being a model and singer, the representative of a public and very successful company, and some people get famous for all the wrong reasons like hitler or Donald trump, theres nuance to these things so let’s get into it ‼️
1. Chart ruler in the 5th house. This is the first thing that came to my mind instantly which I think is a pretty desirable kind of fame that every normal person kinda soughts after. this configuration is like getting famous for being pretty or having a nice style, being talented, being an inventor, a discover of something or even being a content creator especially since this house literally has significations with creation. The 5th house in Hellenistic is the closest thing to fame and riches because rich people live a very good quality of life. This house will increase the quality of a persons life and any planet here especially the chart ruler or the ruler of the LOF may indicate that. The chart ruler here is generally gonna indicate that a person will be very celebrated by people at some point in their life. I feel like i have to keep repeating to people that this house literally has a relationship with VENUS and Venus kinda just gets whatever she wants
2. A luminary or sect of light within an angular house. The luminaries are the sun and the moon, they both illuminate light and are generally the first things that draw our attention in the sky. The sun sends light to our planet and the moon reflects that light to use when the sun sets and when there’s light upon you, you become easier to see within the landscape that you are in. Generally speaking tho, the luminaries on the angles (houses 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th) are gonna describe someone that is popular and who’s name gets around easily. This is one of those things that can mean a range of things like I mentioned above; being in the news, being a city’s official, a representative for a state, your business being featured in a magazine or more exciting things
3. North node in the 5th house. Now I’ve talked about the north node maybe once or twice and each time I did I explained how the north kinda massively increases things wherever it’s at in your chart for better or for worse depending on the house it’s in and this isn’t necessarily something that you have control over either. The north node here can generally describe all the things I mentioned about the 5th house above being massively increased for you when that karma gets activated at some point in your life.
4. North node conjunct the sun. Now I don’t need to do much elaborating about this if you read anything in #2 or #3. The north node increases things massively and some Hellenistic significations of the sun are as followed; being king, being in charge, being recognized for achievement, being the boss, having all the attention on you etc
5. Your 10th house being the 11th place from the lot of fortune. Calculate your LOT of fortune and what house its in, use your lot of fortune as the ascendant and count 11 houses from there, if the house you land on after counting 11 is your 10th house when you count using your original ascendant, that implies some level of fame. The 11th house from the lot of fortune is where a person will find honor and achievement
6. Lof of fortune in the 10th house. The lot of fortune for lack of better words can describe the cards a person is dealt in life and those cards can be good or bad ones. Generally speaking is gonna describe fated encounters in your career
7. ruler of the LOF in the 10th house or planet that rules the LOF conjunct the 10th house ruler (see #6)
8. LOF in the 5th house or 11th house or conjunct either of the benefics. (See#6)
Just a disclaimer that not everyone will get famous for their desired reasons or even famous at all, not everyone’s dreams or goals get realized or see fruition, and not everyone gets successful or popular. If you become popular though it won’t be because you are begging for it, so don’t beg for it if you have either of these placements. You should be recognized for your own abilities without having to strive for popularity, so instead focus on honing your abilities and stop caring about the outcome, chasing people’s attention isn’t sustainable. Don’t overthink it, just do ‼️

North Node (Rahu) & South Node (Ketu)
Tumblr media
Hello guys! Nice to see you again. This post is going to be all about North Node (Rahu) and South Node (Ketu). I'm about to describe the meaning of the Nodes from both traditional tropical/Hellenistic astrology and from sidereal/Vedic astrology. You're going to learn what the Nodes mean, where the meaning came from and how to interpret them in your birth chart. So, without further delay, let's get straight into the topic!
Before I actually get into this topic, I just want to clarify something. You've probably heard that the North Node in astrology represents our life path, purpose, mission and what we are supposed to do, while South Node in astrology represents our past life, karma from our past life and what we should let go of. That's not what they are about and it's a common misconception about astrology. This meaning comes from modern tropical astrology, which tells us more about our personality and individual life purpose. I already said a lot of times about the misconceptions from modern astrology, so I won't repeat myself over and over again.
The Nodes are actually about imbalances in our life. In traditional tropical/Hellenistic astrology, the North Node represents the area of our life which increases in our life, while the South Node represents the area of our life which decreases in our life, for better or for worse. North Node also represents the area where there's too much going on in our life, while South Node represents the area where there's lack of something. I used to think that we need to balance the energies of North Node and South Node, but I've realized afterwards that this is likely impossible. Like I said, the Nodes actually describe the imbalances in our life. The meanings of the Nodes in Hellenistic astrology came from astronomy, by the way.
In sidereal/Vedic astrology, the Nodes have a way more different meanings, which came from mythology, by the way. In Vedic astrology, North Node is called Rahu and South Node is called Ketu. Rahu (North Node) is a head without a body which represents attachment, material world, our desires we want to achieve so bad and the area of our life where we're never satisfied about and which we want more and more. On the other hand, Ketu (South Node) is a body without a head which represents detachment, spirituality, the area of our life where we detach from and which we don't care that much about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The best way to interpret the Nodes is to look at the house they sit. So, here's what the Nodes mean in houses. Keep in mind that I use Whole Sign system to interpret the houses in astrology.
1st house NN (Rahu) / 7th house SN (Ketu):
The 1st house represents you, self, your personality and who you are, while the 7th house represents other people around you and your partner. Having the North Node (Rahu) in the 1st house could mean that there's a strong focus on you and your independence in your life. You might favor yourself over the other people. The South Node (Ketu) in your 7th house might indicate that the other people in your life might not play an important role in your life. You may detach from the people around you as well. And this can be good if you don't have a need to change everything or if you want independence in your life. However, if you've been single for years and want to get in the romantic relationship, then that's the problem.
2nd house NN (Rahu) / 8th house SN (Ketu):
These are both houses of ownership. The 2nd house represents something that you own, while the 8th house represents something that other people around you own. It's mostly about money and financial matters when it comes to these two houses. The North Node (Rahu) in your 2nd house may indicate your own money and resources increase in your life, while the South Node (Ketu) in the 8th house might indicate that other people's money, resources and debt decrease in your life, which is a good thing. Having more your own money and less debt is always a good thing, so you don't need to change anything about that.
3rd house NN (Rahu) / 9th house SN (Ketu):
The 3rd house represents your siblings, your best friend (BFF) and seeking spirituality within yourself, while the 9th house represents voyages, religion, wisdom, education and seeking spirituality beyond yourself. The North Node (Rahu) in the 3rd house indicates that you might have a strong inclination towards spirituality which is unfamiliar to many people, such as witchcraft, Tarot, Wicca, palm readings etc. This placement can also tell that your siblings might play an important role in your life. The South Node (Ketu) in the 9th house indicates that you might not be into higher education, religion (such as Christianity, Islam, Buddhism etc.) and you may not tolerate other people's opinions. You might not have a tendency to look outside for the answers because you might think that every answer is within yourself.
4th house NN (Rahu) / 10th house SN (Ketu):
The 4th house represents your home, private life, parents and comfort, while the 10th house represents your career, professional life, reputation and public image. Traditionally, the 4th house represents your father, while the 10th house represents your mother. The North Node (Rahu) in the 4th house signifies that you might focus more on creating your own family than your career and making a name for yourself. You might not care what other people think about you, but you might care what people close to you think about you. The South Node (Ketu) in the 10th house signifies that you're not interested for your career path and in creating your public image. When it comes to your parents, with this placement, you might spend more time with your father, while your relationships with your mother might be more detached.
5th house NN (Rahu) / 11th house SN (Ketu):
The 5th house represents good fortune, good things that happen in your life and everything that improves your well being, such as wealth, children and well environment. Having the North Node (Rahu) in the 5th house means that you might be someone whose focus is on creating some kind of wealth in your life. You might aggressively gravitate a path of having a huge amount of money or you might be very focused on everything that improves your health. Children may also play a significant role in your life. The 11th house represents good spirit and the the area of our life which improves our mind, such as friends, community, gains etc. With the South Node (Ketu) in the 11th house, that area of your life may not be strong in your life, which means that you don't have any friends. This might be the problem if you feel lonely and you want to make some friends.
6th house NN (Rahu) / 12th house SN (Ketu):
Both of these house are about afflictions. The 6th house represents everything that afflicts your body and well being, such as physical disease and slavery. If you have the North Node (Rahu) in the 6th house, the things that might play a huge role in your life are physical diseases and doing something in your life you possibly don't want to do. The 12th house represents everything that afflicts your mind, such as depression, isolation, loneliness and other mental health issues. Having the South Node (Ketu) in the 12th house could mean that the mental health issues might not be that much significant and you might not struggle that much with mental issues, which might be a good thing. However, you may struggle more with physical diseases in your life.
Tumblr media
7th house NN (Rahu) / 1st house SN (Ketu):
Like I previously said, the 7th house represents other people around you, while the 1st house represents yourself, your personality and everything about you. With the North Node (Rahu) in the 7th house, other people around you might play a huge role in your life. You might always be with someone, whether it's your partner, friend or someone else. With the South Node (Ketu) in the 1st house, you might neglect yourself in general. Building your independence up is not something you strive for. If you feel more comfortable with the people around you than being on your own, that's a good thing. However, if you want to become more independent in your life, then that could be problem.
8th house NN (Rahu) / 2nd house SN (Ketu):
Again, as I mentioned before, the 8th house represents other people's money, their resources, inheritance, and something that other people around you own. Having the North Node (Rahu) in the 8th house could indicate that debts and loans might be increased in your life. Other people might help you financially, which might be a good thing. There's also a possibility for you to inherit someone else's money, especially after the death of that person. On the other hand, the 2nd house represents your money, your resources and something that you own. With the South Node (Ketu) in the 2nd house, you might feel that your own money and resources are limited, which might be the problem if you want to make your own money for yourself.
9th house NN (Rahu) / 3rd house SN (Ketu):
These two houses have several meanings, but I'm going to use them as the houses of spirituality. The 9th house represents seeking spirituality beyond yourself, while the 3rd house represents seeking spirituality within yourself. The North Node (Rahu) in your 9th house can mean that you might actively seek answers outside of you. You tend to be philosophical with this placement. Higher education and religion, whether it's Christianity, Islam or Judaism, might play a significant role in your life. This placement could make someone a religious fanatic too. The South Node (Ketu) in the 3rd house means that you might not search for inner truth, as much as you might search for universal truth. Relationship with your siblings might be neglected too or you might not have any siblings with this placement.
10th house NN (Rahu) / 4th house SN (Ketu):
The 10th house represents your career, professional life, reputation and your mother, while the 4th house represents your home, private life and parents, but specifically your father. Having the North Node (Rahu) in the 10th house can indicate that you might actively gravitate towards building your career path and making a name for yourself. Reputation and how other people see you might be very important to you. Having the South Node (Ketu) in your 4th house could signify that your relationships with your parents and the people close to you might be detached. You might not have a clear sense of home and comfort or family may not be very important to you. You may likely spend more time with your mother than with your father.
11th house NN (Rahu) / 5th house SN (Ketu):
Both of these houses are about the privileges and advantages in our life. The 11th house represents good spirit and everything that improves your mind, such as friends, community and gains. If you have the North Node (Rahu) in the 11th house, that likely means you may have a social life. You might have the people around you who will likely support your goals because they wanna see you succeed. On the other hand, the 5th house represents good fortune and everything that improves our well being, such as good health, children and wealth. Having the South Node (Ketu) in the 5th house could mean that the area of your life, such as children or wealth, might not be important in your life or these things may not make you happy. You might not have the children or you might not care that much about your health in this lifetime of yours.
12th house NN (Rahu) / 6th house SN (Ketu):
The 12th house represents everything that threatens your mind, such as depression, isolation and other mental health issues. With the North Node (Rahu) in the 12th house, depression and some mental health issues might increase in your life. You might feel that you're constantly isolated, struggling to find friends or any kind of community. The 6th house represents everything that threatens your well being and your health, such as physical diseases, injuries or car accident. With the South Node (Ketu) in the 6th house, I can tell that you might not struggle that much with physical diseases and injuries as much as you might struggle more with mental health issues in your life.
Tumblr media
That would be everything for this post! This observation might be one of the longest ones of mine, but I really wanted to share interpretation of the Nodes for every house. Mind you that I use the Whole Sign system for houses again. I don't use Placidus at all. Comment what you think about this. Do you resonate with these interpretations? Maybe these placements of the Nodes are not active right now in your chart. You might experience the events of your natal Nodes every 9 years when there's an Eclipse or every 12 years when there's a profection year. I don't know. Nevermind, I hope you enjoyed while reading this observation. Thanks so much for your attention and support, I really appreciate that. Bye and see you next time!
Best regards,
Paky McGee

Explaining Dignities: Exaltation
Tumblr media
The reason why I want to talk about them is because I've actually seen dignities play a big role in readings, as they do describe how well or adverse certain matters can play out for the querent...so here's a little analogy to understand them better!
Context: In Hellenistic (traditional) astrology, exalted planets are said to be like the favorite guests of a given sign (host), so the resources they have at their disposal are equal or even greater than the host's. In other words, imagine a queen or king being invited to a neighboring kingdom, they will be treated with the greatest of honors and commodities! In a practical aspect, this means that the qualities of that planet (the guest) will be able to shine at their maximum, making that particular area of life (house) easier or more fortunate for the owner of the birth chart.
*Mind that below I’m speaking metaphorically of “house” as the SIGN the planet is exalted, and not the astrological house as such (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.). *
Sun in Aries: Sun is a friend of Mars, as both rule fire signs and are leaders by nature. Mars is delighted to receive his royal friend, as he’s anxious to show him how noble, honorable, brave, and pioneer he is, and just how much he has achieved on his own. His job is to win wars for the kingdom after all! He’s thrilled to share his best tactics and borrow his friend his most treasured weaponry. The Sun feels comfortable because he has all he needs to command freely in this household, as his creativity, charisma, leadership and authenticity are praised by his friend. Together, they come up with solutions and strategies to conquer whatever they want! They are not afraid of competition or enemies, as both are equally ambitious and powerful in their own ways. Mars trusts the Sun, as he believes nobody is as visionary and talented enough to lead as he does. The Sun, in return, feels even more driven and powerful to accomplish his goals, as he has access to an incredible arsenal and his mission is thoroughly supported by his friend’s energy and fiery ability to execute his plans.
Personality keywords: high self-esteem, passionate, entrepreneurial, courageous, independent, self-reliant, proactive, resourceful, inspiring, competent, combative, non-stoppable.
Moon in Taurus: The Moon feels really welcomed in one of Venus’ places, as both value beauty, security, domestic life and emotional closeness. They speak the same language, as both love to connect and celebrate relationships. They allure through tact and sweetness instead of brute force as their counterparts (the Sun and Mars) do. The Moon loves Taurus’ palace since she’s fascinated by beautiful art, exquisite food, overgrowing nature, dreamy romance, and abundant wealth… she’s just so inspired and fulfilled with this kind of luxury and magnificence! In here she has firm and solid grounds to step on, so her moods and emotional needs are stable as well. The Moon is able to relax and enjoy life effortlessly as she becomes more in tune with her physical senses and the things that bring her genuine pleasure. With Taurus’ gentle and grounded approach, the Moon lets her love flow naturally in all directions without the fear of being judged, ridiculed, or getting hurt. Like her friend, she is moved to become the glue between the people she’s fond of and attracts what she desires through her feminine and gentle nature. The Moon is so pampered and taken good care of that she’s able to channel her emotional depth and excellent organizational skills towards the growth and embellishment of her relationships and surroundings in a lasting way.
Personality keywords: soothing, calming, relaxed, adorable, loyal, possessive, down-to-earth, practical, trustworthy, maternal, cozy, warm, gentle, nourishing, wealthy.
Mercury in Virgo: Mercury is always eager to pay a visit to Virgo´s realm, as he feels productive and useful here. As the guest, Mercury has all the mental and practical resources to give his thoughts structure and build all the great things he imagines into reality. Virgo gladly grants her friend access inside her huge library so he can explore his wide range of interests and gives him the key into her laboratory and workshop, places where he can experiment and practice all his learnings and become an expert on what he chooses to. She knows how anxious and critical he can get when he doesn’t rest or when things don’t go his way, so she also allows him to use her gym and provides him the best doctors and nutritionists to ease his stress. Virgo is pleased to see that Mercury quickly understands the importance of wellness and health, as she knows he cannot get his job done without proper self-care. Once relaxed and restored, he feels inspired to be of service, as he believes his quick wit and knowledge are put to good use. Mercury, thus, is motivated to grow, upgrade himself, achieve mastery and share his gifts with the world to make it a better place thanks to the wisdom, tools and care her friend borrows.
Personality traits: methodical, skilled, expert, wise, smart, discerning, perfectionist, high-standards, inventive, detail-oriented, practical, productive, industrious, quick wit, self-made.
Mars in Capricorn: In this sober and ancient residence, Mars is forced to cool down a bit and think before he acts. He understands that there is no one to conquer or outdo but himself. As guest in other households, Mars, as explosive, impatient and ambitious as he is, sometimes can get lost in the way, initiating projects and strategies that he later on drops because he gets bored quickly or doesn’t get the immediate results he wants; he also throws tantrums and whims when this happens, and his anger makes him do reckless and foolish things at times, something other hosts find puzzling or repulsive, where they either encage him or make him submissive, something that irritates and demotivates him even more. Capricorn, his patient and wise host, on the other hand, knows just how impulsive and enthusiastic his friend gets, so he kindly but firmly teaches him the art of discipline to achieve his goals, explaining him that violence is of no use here, but instead, self-control and resilience. After many trials and tests, Mars sees how his dedication pays off, and finds out that with constancy and practicality, his immense passion and drive can get him to unimaginable heights! Capricorn teaches him the required organizational and leadership skills to leave a renowned legacy well beyond his years. With his inborn initiative and fiery spirit channeled into the material realm, Mars is ready to raise an empire if he wanted to!
Personality traits: ambitious, self-made, responsible, go-getter, director, powerful, resilient, pragmatic, dedicated, strategist, organized, efficient, problem-solver, relentless, strong.
Venus in Pisces: When Venus enters the sacred and watery temple of Pisces, she is mesmerized by the enthralling type of beauty she finds in here. His generous and candid host takes her for a walk throughout the entire temple and reveals to her the mysteries of the universe. He grants her access to his secret chamber, where he teaches her the art of magic and spiritual healing, and lectures her about ancient and mystical knowledge, long forgotten to humankind, but very present and real nonetheless … these are wonders she didn’t knew existed before! Pisces knows how to inspire her soul in the most delicate and virtuous ways by reminding her of her true nature, that of divine precedence. Venus cannot help to spill what’s in her heat, so she asks her friend the tools to create beautiful music, paintings, and poems so she can share them with the world. Magnanimous and wise as he is, Pisces grants all her wishes, but also shows her the secret suffering that people are burdened with, and how cold the hearts of men have become before this pain. Awed and deeply touched, Venus’ empathy and understanding grows, and she starts to see the veil between the material and spiritual realms dissolve before her. She’s never felt such calling before! She knows her mission is to spread beauty, compassion and kindness, and she does this with unconditional love and devotion.
Personality keywords: romantic, good-natured, fair, balanced, connected, spiritual, creative, artistic, imaginative, warm, gentle, generous, understanding, devotional, forgiving, tolerant.
Jupiter in Cancer: When Jupiter enters the sanctuary of Cancer, he becomes even more lucky and faithful in life. He radiates joy and candor! This is because Cancer teaches him that without love, good-will alone is not enough to make himself and others truly happy. Jupiter is aware of this, but he sometimes can lose himself in fantasies and utopic scenarios, where he wishes things could be different instead of trying to build them into reality. He dreams and preaches, but he can sacrifice practicality in the process. When Cancer has him over, she shows him how to extend the bridge between good intentions and actions, as she’s amazing at ordering her surroundings and making a heart-felt home wherever she goes because of her innate gift for nurturing. She also helps his friend to tap into his intuition and use his common sense to tame his emotions, which can be boundless at times. She does this by treating him with praise, understanding and acceptance, so he can practice them with himself and others. Jupiter finally feels a sense of belonging, as his good intentions are not abused, misunderstood, or minimized... they are used to make good things happen. Through accessing his more feminine side, Jupiter is compelled to give selflessly more of himself to others, and since he’s in a house that governs creation and karma, what goes around comes around multiplied. By practicing morality, ethics, charity and unconditional love without expecting nothing in return, as Cancer does, he finds out that he attracts the best of fortunes.
Personality traits: kind, compassionate, loving, caring, sympathetic, cheerful, charisma, altruistic, supported, rooted, lucky, fortunate, cozy, happy, benevolent, comprehensive, soft, guided, protective.
Saturn in Libra: When Saturn is in Libra, his sobriety and coldness start to wash off and trade for diplomacy, elegance and a profound pursuit of justice and fairness. In the friendly home of Libra, Saturn feels the need to connect, as her host reminds him the importance of friends, allies, and partnerships. After all, he cannot get ahead in life alone! Saturn’s industriousness and wisdom are channeled into building loyal and lasting relationships, where all parties get what they need equally. Libra knows his reputation well, and although she recognizes that his friend can be a bit stubborn, stern and gloomy at times, she loves to lighten him up and remind him of his noble character, and how it can create enduring and strong bonds. She gives him the mission of justice and impartiality, as she knows nobody is better suited than him for his seriousness and sense of responsibility. Saturn protects and respects Libra and feels empowered because she realigns him with balance and high ideals. He does not feel rejected or lonely anymore. Libra teaches him to relax a bit and to seek pleasure from the warmth of social interactions, and in consequence, Saturn learns to apply his maturity and discipline to persuade others into creating a kinder, fairer and wiser world.
Personality traits: noble, just, dignified, committed, loyal, elegant, eloquent, responsible, diplomatic, mature, moral, impartial.
That's all! Thanks everyone for reading!😘

How to read a natal chart in 13 steps.
Tumblr media
This is simplified guide geared towards beginners and people who want to transition to a more traditional approach when assessing a chart. There is no standard method of reading charts, this is simply the method I follow & find most comfortable. It’s a practical, methodical synthesis and just the right amount of intuitive.
Before I begin, I must mention that while assessing planetary conditions I personally verify the following factors — in this order: the sign, house, angularity, direction, whether a planet is direct or retrograde, sect (day vs night), hemisphere (1-6 vs 7-12), phase (morning vs evening, especially notable for venus & mercury), domicile lord (draw a disposition tree if needed), exaltation lord, triplicity lords, bound lord, decan lord, dodecatemoria, aspects to domicile lord if any, aspect to the ascendant if any, apsects to other planets, bonification conditions (i.e aspecting benefics, so supported by aspect), maltreatment conditions (aspected by malefics). This is important to remember because the term “conditions” will come up a lot.
Now onto the actual guide :
1. For starters, you should (assuming you don’t already) learn how to read a whole sign house circle chart. Table charts are nice as a gateway drug, but if you're somewhat serious about learning astrology this is an important transition to make. Once you do, put the chart you’re aiming to assess in front of you, then proceed further.
2. Determine the sect of the chart. This becomes an automatism once you’re used to looking at charts, but if you're not there yet — draw a line on the chart (or visualize said line) going from the degree of the ascendant to the degree of the descendant. If the sun is ABOVE that line — it’s a day chart, so of the day sect. If it’s BELOW that line — it’s a night chart, of the night sect.
3. Take a look at the ascendant. Take note of the rising sign, its modality, & its ruling planet. Does this chart have any 1st house planets? Also, remember to do a quick overview to pinpoint which planets are angular (as in, located in the 1/4/7/10th houses)
4. Track down the ascendant ruler. Check its house placement, condition (see above), and aspects (applying vs separating).
5. Track down the Sect Light. If it’s a day chart, the sect light is the Sun. If it’s a night chart, that would be the Moon. Assess the sect light’s condition (see above), aspects.
6. Check which houses are ruled by the Luminaries (Sun/Moon). The interpretation of the luminaries is intrinsic to the areas of life (Houses) they rule, in addition to their independent significations.
7. Check out the phase of moon at birth. The lunation phase is extremely important as it defines the dynamic between this individual’s luminaries.
8. Take a look at how Mercury is doing in said chart. Condition (see above)? Aspects? Morning or Evening star?
9. Take a look at the Benefic Of Sect & Malefic Out Of Sect (day: Jupiter/Mars, night: Venus/Saturn). Assess their condition (see above), aspects they make, etc. Regarding Venus: verify if she’s Morning or Evening star (if Venus is on the right of the Sun - Morning star, if it's on its left - Evening star). For the Malefic OOC, check if it is bonified by enclosure (i.e : Saturn or Mars are touched by a benefic (Venus/Jupiter) on each sides) — it’s a huge alleviating factor.
10. Then, assess the Benefic Out Of Sect & Malefic Of Sect (day: Venus/Saturn, night: Jupiter/Mars).
11. Then, take a global look seeking anything that may be of note. Stelliums, several retrograde planets, a Cazimi, Out Of Bounds planets, a void moon, etc.
12. Lastly, I go through each house individually. This is where the chart synthesis proper begins. In practice, I like to tell a story beginning from the 1st house & culminating in the 12th, while highlighting the thematics of each house as I go.
13. This is optional, but I like to take a look at annual and monthly profections to see which themes are presently highlighted/emphasized for the individual whose chart I’m looking at.
And we’re done.

Traditional planetary meanings:
Planet of technology: Uranus ❌️ Mercury ✅️
Planet of delusion: Neptune ❌️ Jupiter ✅️
Planet of death: Pluto ❌️ Saturn ✅️
The inner planets are closer to us; meaning they have more impact on individual charts. Exception happens when you have a personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Mars) aspecting those planets for example.

Mars Observations from people I know:
••••••
•Mars Leo 1H (Conjunct Ascendant) : This placement is someone who has gone through a lot of arguments and fights to protect their own self image. They can struggle to have the self that they want translate to the self that appears to others. Has undergone a major surgery recently, likely even due to something that was caused by overconfidence in lifting heavier things than they should have been at work.
••••••
•Mars Pisces 5H (Conjunct Sun): This placement is someone who has pursued a lot of different passions in life. Hobbies are frequent and immersive and range from spiritual to physical hobbies. But on the negative they often find themselves burning out easily from their creative passions, going too far in too fast and losing steam quickly. Also struggles to assert themselves to others.
•••••••
•Mars Aries 10H: This placement has always had a lot of attention drawn to them in a negative way. Groups of gossipers targeting them. They’ve had at least one huge instance where a massive rumor has been spread about them, and for years of their life have had the rumor follow them around. They are a very physical person. They’ve done martial arts. And worked as a bouncer to a club at a point in their life.
•••••••
•Mars Virgo 12H: A lot of mental health issues with this placement. While I don’t want to say the issues are fully the fault of the individual, this placement could indicate that the person has worried themselves into a rut any time their mental health issues flare up. It can be very difficult for them to pull themselves out of a funk, as they are incredibly self critical, even of their own thoughts.
••••••
If you have similar placements and relate to these I’d love to hear! Send me an ask ❤️ or if you want to share about your own mars placement and how you feel it’s treated you in life id also be very curious to know ❤️

Algol and Perseus
The rescuer and the demon
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sebastiano Ricci Antonio Canova
Algol is the beta star of the constellation Perseus, currently sitting at 26° Taurus, known as “the demon star” or "blinking demon", its name comes from the arabic Al Ghul meaning "the demon". To hellenistic astrology it represents Medusa’s head, which Perseus holds on one hand, while on the other he has his sword. An important characteristic of Algol is that its glow has a regular variation, it loses half of its brightness for hours and then it gains back. It was believed by astrologers to be an eclipsing star, which means that another non-visible body would be orbiting it and therefore eclipsing its light from time to time. They were half right, because it was later discovered to be an eclipsing star system, and that Algol was actually 3 stars, just like the Gorgon sisters are three: the imortals Stheno and Euryale, and the mortal Medusa. This is such a hallmark of Algol that it gave its name to its class of eclipsing variable: Algol variable.
Eclipses are associated with death, basically because light in astrology is life-giving, and loss of light is death. But it’s interesting that it's frequently associated with the "demonic", capital punishment and decapitation. Algol is telling a story about the decapitation of a “demon”, just like the lunar nodes (Rahu and Ketu) do in the Jyotish tradition when they cause eclipses. Ptolemy only tells us that the constellation of Perseus is like Jupiter and Saturn. Although Robson agrees with Agrippa about Algol specifically being of the nature of Saturn-Jupiter, and “the most evil star in the heavens”, causing a lot of fear whenever we see it activated in a chart. But I’m not here to scare anybody, don’t worry. It’s difficult, but I’ll try to lighten this up, because the most overlooked fact about Algol is that it also protects and can make revolutions and revolutionary heros.
"Perseus is like Jupiter and Saturn: but the nebula, in the hilt of the sword, is like Mars and Mercury." (Ptolemy - Tetrabiblos) "It causes misfortune, violence, decapitation, hanging, electrocution and mob violence, and gives a dogged and violent nature that causes death to the native or others. It is the most evil star in the heavens" (Vivian E. Robson - The Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Illustrations from Al-Sūfī's book of fixed stars
Eletrocution or electrical problems are an issue with eclipses and apparently also eclipsing star-systems like Algol. This is noted by Christopher Warnock about his Algol talismans:
"I have had multiple reports and have myself experienced Algol’s tendency to cause electrical and electronic interference when the talisman is first used.  I mysteriously lost my Internet connection for an hour and my electronic thermostat died.  One user had his entire block lose power.  Less frequently but still regularly clients have reported that while wearing their Algol talisman, “weird” or “freaky” people took one look at them and fled." (Christopher Warnock - Fixed star, Sign and Constellation Magic)
Other one of its proeminent themes is vengeance, or the dichotomy of justice vs vengeance, but the effect of reflecting back evil that's sent towards its direction, or of ending curses describes it better in my opinion. About the images of the fixed Behenian stars, Agrippa says that:
“Under Caput Algol, they made an image whose figure was the head of a man with a long beard, having a bloody neck. This brought the good outcome of petitions, gave the bearer boldness and nobility, preserved members of the body from injury, helped against sorceries, and reflected evil attempts and evil incantations from enemies”. (Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy - Eric Purdue's translation)

Piero di Cosimo
This protection side of the star is illustrated by the story of the champion Perseus not just decapitating the demon but using its head to free Andromeda from her chains and saving her and her city from another monster, and then Athena herself starts using the head of Medusa as a symbol on her shield. As established, this is a star of the nature of Jupiter and Saturn. The nature of Saturn is evidenced even by the names given to the star: demon, cacodaemon, which is also the greek name for the 12th house. Imprisonment, monstruosity and madness are clearly the most important Saturn and 12th house themes. But Algol is a protective star, particularly in astrological magic, although I'll show how this kinda manifests in nativities as well. Algol is mainly of a jupiterian nature, that's why it does liberates. The head is an evil daemon but also a protection amulet. This is interesting regarding the eclipsing factor and the similarity of the significations with the Jyotish Rahu and Ketu. In western astrology the nodes are considered to have effects like Jupiter and Saturn, and the topic of imprisonment-liberation is explored in the dynamic of the two*.
With the new interpretations of the Medusa myth, some astrologers say that Algol can be about "female rage" or "dark feminine", or "feminine jealousy" etc. I think this is one of the stories that people mix the astrological meaning with the morality of the greek myth associated with the star the most. The greek myth is not really the star and the star is not the greek myth. In my opinion, you always must take into consideration that some things can be just the way the greeks or romans viewed a certain theme, and of course they would put a violated woman to represent a monster on a mindless vendetta, and it's not meant to be complimentary. I believe that's already way beyond Algol's effects, it could be just their misogyny projected onto the stars. I can think of examples where I can see that kind of story taking place, but that doesn’t mean that the star is about those things, but just that this is one possibility because we live in patriarchy and things around women's issues can get ugly in an Algol manner. The star can be about capital punishment, monstruosity, madness, captivity, violation, injustice, vengeance, evil daemonic influences etc, but it's not really about cishet women. So, even though I’m also using the greek myth here, I’m not giving the most importance to the detail that it is a story about a woman receiving unfair punishment and that there's a lack of comradery between women, because I'm interested in the star beyond what greeks and romans said, because the stars can’t be represented by just one hegemonic narrative. A lot of other cultures had their different stories about Algol, the Medusa one isn’t special to the point that we could assume every detail about it, even its moral issues (which are also in this case suffering a bit from anachronism), has meaning for the star associated.
Perseus is a spring time constellation very near the bull (taurus), and that may sound too nice for such a scary one. But in babylonian astrology, the stars of Perseus actually formed the constellation of the Old Man, who also held a decapitated head and a rod instead of a sword. Of it, Gavin White has an interesting perspective to share:
“At this time of natural abundance, the earth was thought to ‘open up’ in order to yield her bounty, but to the archaic mind this opening up was accompanied by a host of dangers, chief of which was the potential pollution from the dead who could gain easy access to the upper worlds at this pivotal time. In light of this belief, I would suggest that the Old Man, with his wand and prophylactic head, is banishing the ghosts of the old year and driving them back to the underworld.”
Tumblr media
Illutration from Gavin White's Babylonian Star-Lore
There's a lot of examples of charts for literal decapitation or capital punishment, injuries to the head or neck area as obvious manifestations of the star: The most famous is probably the catholic Saint George, who is said to have been executed by decapitation on April 23 back when that was the time of year when the Sun would conjunct Algol, and he later became associated with the constellation. Back then, Algol was at 2° Taurus. Gianni Versace, who had Algol on the descendant, famously made Medusa the logo of his brand and also died with a bullet to the head. Freud had Mercury with Algol, his 8th house ruler, and he died with throat cancer. Nick Yarris, who spent two decades on death row after he was wrongfully convicted of murder, has the Sun with Algol. Patrick Henry had Jupiter, and he was a murderer whose case influenced the abolition of the death penalty in France, which was done by the method of guillotine until its abolition. He was defended by Robert Badinter, who was an activist against the death penalty and could sucessfully propose its abolition in 1981. Badinter has Jupiter with the alpha of Andromeda in the first house. France has a thing with decapitation, some of the charts for its republics have either Algol or Mirfak activated, the alpha star of Perseus.
Algol and Madness
But I want to talk about Algol's special relationship with madness, in the demonized/criminalized sense, because after all, "the demon" is unwanted, it frequently represents the marginalized and their opression. In Brazil's history, especially during the military dictatorship organized and imposed by usamerican capitalist imperialism, asylums imprisoned and tortured mainly black people, women and queer people. Some asylums got so overwhelmed that they became concentration camps, like the famous case of Hospital Colônia in Barbacena, known as the Brazilian Holocaust case, where people died by the thousands from starvation, hypothermia, anemia, STI's, untreated diseases from the lack of hygiene etc. Some important psychiatrists, psychologists, psychoanalysts have Algol activated by some planet. Freud has Mercury, Fritz Perls has Jupiter, David Healy, who literally has a book titled "The Decapitation of Care", has Venus. But what's more interesting to me is the protection element of Algol in some cases and its role in mad liberation movements, after all, Perseus is a liberator. Algol shows up in very important people in the pysch field who question medical power and have antipsych views, and on important events of the psychiatric reform.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hospital Colônia de Barbacena - MG
Franco Basaglia, the main responsible for the dismantling of psychiatric hospitals and for the psychiatric reform in Italy and for inspiring the one in Brazil, had the Moon with Algol in the 10th house, representing his deeds, while ruling the 12th. In Italy, the Law 180 (Basaglia Law), the Psychiatric Reform law that determined the progressive extinction of asylums throughout the italian territory, was sanctioned with the Sun on Algol. In Brazil, on May 18, 1987, the exact day of the year that the Sun conjuncts Algol, a meeting of mental health workers at a conference was the major milestone for Brazilian health reform and the anti-asylum movement. And since that event, May 18th has become our national anti-asylum movement day, and it becomes more and more culturally relevant as a day to discuss psychiatric reform and the fight to guarantee the rights and autonomy of mental patients.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Marches on May 18th
An important activist, Austregésilo Bueno, born with the Sun with Algol, survivor of compulsory hospitalization in asylums in the 70s, wrote a book "Canto dos Malditos" about his horrible experiences as a psychiatric patient treated with eletroshock therapy (another one of Algol's effects). He had his book adapted to film and his story played by the actor Rodrigo Santoro, who has Algol on the Ascendant. The name of the film is Brainstorm in English, but I find the original "Bicho de Sete Cabeças" much more compelling. It's a truly devastating story, and it's the story of thousands unfortunately.
One thing about Saturn and madness is the recurring idea of wearing masks. Masks and theatre have always been associated with Saturn. Saturnalia was a roman festival where all the roles switched, where kings pretended to be fools and fools pretended to be kings. In modern astrology Saturn ended up associated a lot with a raw and harsh reality, disregarding the most mystical and unreal characteristics of Saturn that have always been present. Although life, reality, identity and reason are always a performance, we're always wearing a mask and performing life. There's a point in the movie "Bicho de Sete Cabeças" when the protagonist is having a difficult time on his first days of being an inmate, he's fighting too much against the forced treatment and expressing too much unsatisfaction with his imprisonment, thus getting even more forcebly medicated and punished by the staff. At this point one of the older inmates shares an important advice with him:
"You have to pretend, who in this world doesn't pretend? You have to say that you're in a good mood, you have to say that you're not hungry, you have to say that you don't have a toothache, you have to say that you're not afraid, otherwise you can't do it, you can't do it. No doctor ever told me that hunger and poverty can lead to mental disorders, but those who don't eat become nervous, those who don't eat and see their family go without eating can go crazy, a discontentment can lead to madness, a death in the family, the abandonment of the great love. We even need to pretend to be insane when we're insane, pretend to be a poet when we're a poet."
It's a powerful speech about the farce of medicine's ownership over the subject of madness, the farce of reason and that it must subjugate or dominate madness. Pretending and acting out the platonic ideal behavior at all situations under all circumstances, as if it's normal, that's the only way anyone is seen as sane.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bicho de Sete Cabeças (2000)
Another important date in brazillian history is the 13th of May 1888, the day of the passing of the law that abolished slavery, which also had Algol activated by the Sun. This was obviously not the definite end of slavery and not the end of the struggle of black brazilians, just like the Basaglia Law didn't mean mad liberation, but I'm just demonstrating how powerful Algol is to protect from evil and put an end to injustice in an official and legislative manner. Like Saint George defeating the dragon, Perseus defeats a monster that is impossible to defeat, the "impossible victory" and liberation is recurrent in the stories linked to it. Systemic opression and injustices a lot of times seem like impossible problems, it becomes harder and harder to imagine a world where they don't exist, but Algol events revolutionize the impossible.
"The important thing is that we have proven that the impossible becomes possible. Ten, fifteen, twenty years ago it was unthinkable that a mental hospital could be destroyed. Maybe mental hospitals will return to being closed and more closed than before, I don't know, but in any case we have demonstrated that the mad can be cared for in another way, and testimony is fundamental. I don't think that the fact that an action manages to energize itself means that it has been won. The important point is another, it is that now we know what can be done." (Franco Basaglia - Conferenze brasiliane)
An important honorable mention should be made to Carlos Marighella, a guerrilheiro in the resistance of the brazilian military dictatorship who was executed before he could see our democratization. He had Mars with Algol.
"The urban guerrilheiro is an implacable enemy of the government and inflicts systematic harm on authorities and men who dominate and exercise power. The main work of the urban guerrilheiro is to distract, tire and demoralize the military, the military dictatorship and repressive forces, and also attack and destroy the wealth of north americans, foreign managers, and the Brazilian upper class. But the fundamental and decisive characteristic of the urban guerrilheiro is that he is a man who fights with weapons; given this condition, there is little chance that he will be able to pursue his normal profession for a long time or the reference of the class struggle, since it is inevitable and necessarily expected, the armed conflict of urban guerrilla against the essential objectives: A. The physical extermination of the leaders and assistants of the armed forces and the police. B. The expropriation of government resources and those who belong to the big capitalists, landowners, and imperialists, with small expropriations used to maintain the individual urban guerrilheiro and large expropriations for the support of the same revolution. (Carlos Marighella - Manual do Guerrilheiro Urbano)
Algol in Cannes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lunga in Bacurau (2019), the first queer Perseus I know. The actor Silvero Pereira has Venus on Algol.
I’ve said here before how much I love Bacurau. The movie premiered in Cannes, on May 15, 2019, at 10 pm**. This is a chart full of fixed stars, with the Sun with Algol in the 6th house. You'll find in the film the Algol classic of extreme injustice being overcome. But one curious thing is that the Cannes Film Festival always happens around the same time of year when the Sun is at the last degrees of Taurus and beginning of Gemini, making a lot of the movies premiered at Cannes have Algol activated. And it shows. It’s a great opportunity to watch how varied the Algol themes can be. On that same year of 2019, they had: THE DEAD DON’T DIE by JIM JARMUSCH, a pretty obvious Algol movie about zombies, whom you defeat by cutting off the head, of course; LES MISÉRABLES by LADJ LY, inspired by a real-life event of police violence that inspired the 2005 riots in Paris, it seems to have a very radicalized discourse about raging against violent injustices; ATLANTIQUE (ATLANTICS) by MATI DIOP has dead unpaid workers coming back as spirits possessing their city’s inhabitants to take vengeance on the tycoon who withheld their payment; LITTLE JOE by JESSICA HAUSNER is a film about a lab created flower that alters people's behavior in strange ways, and these last two kinda have the feeling of that "spring danger" Gavin White talks about. DOLOR Y GLORIA (PAIN AND GLORY) by PEDRO ALMODÓVAR has Antonio Banderas as the protagonist who develops dysphagia, caused by a caucified growth in his neck. Etc. And these are all just some of the 2019 films. I haven't watched most of them, but you can always look for the films which had their first screenings around 14-20 of May and they'll be rich in Algol content.
So, I'll leave you with that: a bunch of movie recommendations. Thank you for reading.
--
*Adam Elenbaas has my favorite content on the subject of the nodes or Rahu-Ketu.
** You can research the screening guide for an edition to find the time.

12h: healers, lone wolves, travelers. be careful with this placement as it can lead to hidden enemies.
Also use the 3h ruler itself for more nuance. If it's sun (for Gemini risings) then ambitious people...
If Mars (virgo and Aquarius risings), hardworking passionate people.
If Venus (for Pisces and Leo risings), beautiful people who like arts 👌

The zodiac comes from "zoidia," signifying divine habitats and images. It's a circle based on Sun-Moon interaction and is split into twelve signs, reflecting qualities via lunar cycles. Western astrology divides Earth's orbit into twelve parts, starting with Aries at the equinox. The Western zodiac originated in Babylonian and Hellenistic cultures, associating signs with sun's yearly path. This echoes in sun sign astrology, connecting celestial events and human traits.

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆THE 9TH HOUSE⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
Tumblr media
Welcome to my blog...aka the 9th house! I've named it this as my chart ruler, mercury, is in my 9th house which represents many important themes in my life such as: → travel/distant places → culture + foreign things → wisdom + philosophy → astrology, mysticism, beliefs, religion → dreams → higher learning/knowledge + education I am very saturnian, however; saturn is conjunct my ascendant, and my chart ruler's ruler is also saturn (mutual reception b/w my merc and saturn and they also trine lol)- hence my username ♥ ✭∞∞∞∞✷∞∞∞∞✭ So essentially, I've decided to finally make a place to info dump all the word vomit I hoard in my head; ramblings, vents, and most importantly - astrology stuff (my latest hyperfixation, especially since pluto entered my 9th house lol). So yeah, mostly a place to catalogue all that stuff for myself, but it would be nice to get to know other people in the tumblr community too.

⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆ASTROLOGY MASTERLIST⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
◦ I started properly getting into astrology in 2023, after superficialy dabbling in it since 2021. Iniitally, I looked into it to debunk it. However, through approaching it with a critical lens, I came to realise the truth and significance behind it. What previously closed my mind off to ever taking astrology seriously was the garbage pop culture astrology permeating the internet, and its modern day link to spirituality and understanding it solely as a psychological tool (more of this will be disucssed in the first post). ◦ As I've been learning, I wanted to create a place to consolidate my thoughts, hence me creating this blog. The information derives from an amalgam of different sources, and I will try to cite where necessary/possible. I consider myself a forever student, however, and it is still very much early days in my astrological knowledge. ◦ P.S. I use the tropical zodiac, whole signs, traditional rulerships, and practise by using a blend of traditional and modern techniques and ideas. All my information is taken from various sources e.g. books, reddit, tumblr, tiktok, discord, websites, youtube etc.

We need to discuss sex in astrology girlies (will be debunking a few things and will also mention r*pe) 🤒
Tumblr media
So let’s first go over what Mars and Venus rule in modern astrology
Venus - relationships, Art, beauty
Mars - sex, aggression, war, passion
Now let’s take a look at what significations these two planets have in Hellenistic astrology which is based in ancient cultures and spiritualities like Indian, Greek and middle eastern thousands of years ago before any social constructs were even able to plague our society
Venus - Marriage, Gold, jewelry, Sex, Pregnancy and love of children, pleasure seeking, intimacy, fun, art, wealth, good fortune, socializing, sweets. gets meaning from the 5th house
Mars - Conquest, Enemies, Separation, Abuse Celibacy, Action, War, danger, Injuries, Death, Sickness, Slaves, labor, evil play, hatred, bad fortune. Gets meaning from the 6th house
Now here’s some background as followed….
Modern astrology was invented in the 1900’s so themes of Christianity and Patriarchy had every opportunity before then to instill some of its values into the practice. the REASON why modern astrology keeps associating mars and Scorpio with sex is because Scorpio rules over the genitals but it only rules over the genitals and not sex at all in traditional astrology. We keep associating the planet of conquest that is mars with sex because we have been taught by a patriarchal and puritanical society to view sex as something that should only be done in secret, is hidden and/or otherwise taboo. When you associate the planet of “conquest” mars that is malefic dominant, wrong-doing, unethical, consumes wastefully and against the good will of others with intercourse, sex then sounds like something that’s exploitative and nonconsensual. Let’s imagine mars did rule sex which it objectively does not, rape would then be a huge theme of that. Mars in general does rule assault but there is nothing amorous and consenting about the red planet. You’re probably thinking to yourself “well patriarchy is at minimum 6000 years old” and you’re absolutely right, patriarchal values are really old but many ancient and indigenous societies had faiths and beliefs that transcended these values and this is what ancient astrology draws from.
I often talk with scorpios and mars ruled people who become frustrated every time at the thought of them being hypersexualized because of their sign and just overall not feeling like a sexual person at all so hopefully this brought some confirmation to any of you mars ruled or dominant people out there.
Hope this helps xx
