Guild Wars 2; 30-Day Challenge
7. do you have a favourite place to afk/chill out?
I don't really AFK much because my computer will die if I leave GW2 running for super long, so I tend to close out if I'm going to be away for longer than like 20 minutes-ish?
That said, I prefer to be places that are safe and which I won't get attacked and come back to find myself dead lmao
Lion's Arch is a favorite obvs as a hub city, and honestly the only one that I have the layout memorized of hahaha.

I think the Wizard's Tower in SotO is gonna be a new one because I can absolutely see myself leaving Cixxe by R'tchikk and Gladium.
(I tried to take a screenshot of the Wizard's Tower with good graphics and my game crashed.)
I also will AFK purposefully by the bridge out from of Amnoon for uh...certain reasons.

So there's that D&D class quiz going around, & I took it & was so deeply offended I got Paladin.
& so I have had conversations with both Bestie & Birdfriend about this grave insult & they both were like, "Well... They have a point?" & informed me that my desire to absorb hits meant for others & deep drive to help whenever I actually can & strong convictions make me a bit Paladin-coded.
& I am just so... Idk. It's just interesting to get glimpses of yourself from other people's POVs. To be told that my defining characteristics are protecting & healing others & being incredibly fighty about the things I care about... Especially as someone whose brain specifically fixates on whether I care enough, do enough, give enough... Yeah. It's just kinda wild.
Anyway, I'm now adjusting my self-perception to include the fact that if I were a D&D character, I would be an Oath of the Ancients Paladin & not a wizard & that actually that's okay.
#I don't Believe many things#because I prefer to stay open to new perspectives#& think that a balanced approach to life involves embracing a certain level of ambiguity in reality#but the things I do Believe in?#Oh I Believe them with all my heart.#I don't know how my belief system will change in the future#But I do know that above all else I believe in Kindness#Kindness to yourself Kindness to everyone around you Kindness to nature#The point of society is to ensure Everyone is treated well & can enjoy existence as much as possible#The point is Joy. The method is Kindness.#& if you aren't fighting for Everyone to be taken care of & respected & treated with Kindness#then I am not interested in your revolution.#If you hate the people against you more than you love the people you're fighting for?#You're missing the goddamn point.#(Please note I'm speaking of Kindness as a separate concept from Niceness.)#(Sometimes you cannot be Kind without being Not Nice to someone who is doing unkindnesses.)#(But I feel like a lot of people mistake that concept for an excuse to deny those they disagree with Kindness.)#(& my dudes you don't actually have principles if they only apply to people you like & agree with.)#There is no freedom until everyone is free includes the people you don't like.#While I am not free right now due to my various axes of oppression & the oppression others face#I'm also not gonna be free if we straight up murder & imprison the current oppressors#Trading one oppressive system for another isn't actually all that radical???#Just 'cause you think 'the right people' are being oppressed doesn't make oppressing them okay?#Like I'm a leftist because I believe Literally Everyone should be allowed to live whatever fulfilling life they want#so long they as aren't doing a damage to someone else in order to do so.#Not because I think I think the wrong people are oppressed.#Hm now that I've written this fucking essay on ethics in my tags#I am seeing Bestie & Birdfriend's points...#Birdfriend legit said that I'm the '**smacks others while screaming** BE! KIND! TO! EACH! OTHER!' type of Paladin.#I guess they were right.

— WFTO Fair Trade Principle 1 is all about “Creating Opportunities for Economically Marginalised Producers”, which underscores the interest in working closely with individuals and communities facing economic marginalisation. By emphasising inclusivity and social equity, WFTO-Guaranteed Fair Trade Enterprises work with local producers, often marginalised due to poverty, racism, bias or lack of access to resources and other market opportunities.

today a man from Denmark told me I should go back home to Europe often so that I can remain cultured, stay sharp and not become “dumb” in America. The absolute urge I had to tell him that 8 of the world’s 10 best universities (and 38 out of the top 100) are in the United States would shame my ancestors. I’m not even american but white, mainland europeans have such a superiority complex and for what?

The Principles of Necromancy introduces an intriguing new villain in Doctor Eyes
The Principles of Necromancy introduces an intriguing new villain in Doctor Eyes #comics #comicbooks
To see Jakob Eyes – or truly any Doctor – is to know fear, even if you are injured – for a Doctor is mercurial and can act in ways mere humans cannot understand. They are the mad scientists of this horrifying kingdom… and this story is about the one that even other Doctors learn to fear. A man who seeks to make death irrelevant and looks upon his calling with a kind of mad glee. A man who can…

Understanding Distance Per Stroke
Many coaches work hard to get their swimmers to improve their swimmers’ distance per stroke (DPS). Without a very clear understanding of ‘why’ you should have a long stroke, a swimmer will, often, slowly shorten their stroke. The ‘why’ makes the process easier for consistent application. I believe the trick is to get the swimmers to understand the underlying reason for making a long stroke so…

Also I think workplaces should either have parking or compensate you for the time you spend driving around looking for parking + the money you spend on parking for work
#drove around the city for half an hour looking for parking and you bet your ass I’m putting that on my time sheet#bc I arrived to work early. not my fault you’re making me work in an active church#also I think every city should have at least one garage. or more than one street that has more than 2 hour parking#like man im used to parking a 15 min walk from things im not upset abt that#but i am upset abt having to drive around scared not knowing of anywhere im allowed to park#update: walked the 15 mins to work and now there’s parking. I’m so upset actually#wouldn’t make sense to move my car now bc it’s either walk back now or after work. plus I’ve paid for that spot already#and like another thing that grinds my gears about it is#I work at a separate location an hour away one day a week. that gets 0 clients#I’m here just in case someone shows up. which is great in that I get a calm space to do my homework n get paid#it’s like. my job here isn’t clients my job is Drive. my job is Stress About Parking. that’s the trade off#worth it ig as long as I stay safe but on principle it’s frustrating#it’s hard to fully enjoy the secluded space when I have such a hard time getting here. it’s a bad start to my day#idk. it’s my favorite workday of the week bc it isn’t work. I get paid to travel essentially#and to do work that’s unrelated to my job lmao#I just think people should be allowed to park at or near their jobs is all#the emotional labor of like risking my life and car to get to work is almost on par w the emotional labor of when I actually have to work#mine#txt

tbh I've had half a dozen Archive 81 OCs that only exist in my head for a while now.
It started with me writing a fanfic in my head about Nick and Christine visiting a brownstone that was a dumping ground for cosmic junk data (which manifested physically as actual pieces of junk.)
Immediately I was like "well, there needs to be a Weird Little Guy there, right? Obviously this place has its own Weird Little Guy." So I wrote a whole backstory for the Weird Little Guy and gave them some traits to foil Nick's.
Got carried away and added to their backstory, which meant I made more original characters, including a very tired lesbian (who if I'm being honest with myself was just a gender-swapped Benjamin, I can admit that now), a miserable Leviathan, a poor foolish painter, and a five-member cult that was always at risk of falling apart due to its own internal drama.
You know, outside of a handful for TMA, I've not seen many OCs for fiction podcasts.
So, if you out there have any, I'd be very curious to hear about them. And if you don't, which podcasts have tempted you?
