Desde el inicio del videoclip, el mensaje se fusiona perfectamente con la letra de la pieza, la cual busca expresar todo el dolor que las dos artistas pudieron sentir en sus relaciones pasadas. Cabe recordar que la 'bichota' terminó hace algunos meses su relación amorosa con el puertorriqueño Anuel AA, mientras que Shakira anunció su ruptura con el exjugador de futbol Gerard Piqué, en junio de 2022. La historia detrás de aquellas rupturas precisamente se evidencian en los tres minutos con treinta y seis segundos de la canción. Sin embargo, también hay un mensaje de fortaleza —y una que otra pulla— detrás de tan pegajosa melodía. Precisamente por esto las redes sociales rápidamente se llenaron de teorías, memes, elogios y análisis de la canción, pues frases como "dile a tu nueva bebé que por hombres no compito, que estar tirando, que al menos yo te tenía bonito" o "ahora tú quieres volver se te nota, pero no soy idiota.
