Ezran is with Zym, Soren and Corvus so Bait is hanging with Callum again and this gives me feelings. Bait looking out for his boy again. Best boy Bait.

Ezran hanging with Soren and Corvus? Am I going to see some Sorvus content? Canon Sorvus?

Lunation - Chapter 4 - The Council Meeting🌗

“Xadia,” Rayla began, “is huge. Vast. Bigger than anything you could comprehend in the human world. It’s mysterious , and expansive . It could take years to comb through - I would know, I tried .” Out of the corner of her vision, she could see Callum turn his face towards the windows, but she continued. “If there is a lead - any direction , even if it is a goose chase - we should take it. Even if the path would lead us to cross Claudia once again - it’s at least something .”

Ezran opened his mouth to respond, but a noise interrupted. A guttural cough - or really, a rather loud scoff - came in the direction of Callum. Rayla caught the young mage continuing to look away, shaking his head. 

Rayla felt the prickly, searing heat move up her face as she watched Callum behave so dismissively. Though before she could respond, Ezran calmly asked, “Do you have something to say, Callum?”

Callum’s tired, red-rimmed eyes narrowed as he turned his gaze upon his brother. “Only that Rayla could have maybe told us this when we were heading towards the Sea of Castout and not back here .”

Immediately, Rayla balled up her fists in agitation, but bit back her words. At that very moment, she wanted nothing more than to give Callum a fair crack in the head with the hilt of one of her butterfly blades, but instead, she silently willed herself still. Now is not the time, Callum, she mentally pleaded, realizing he was lashing out due to another unresolved conflict. 

But Ezran’s eyes narrowed too, and the brothers aptly stared at each other. “ I am the one who decided to come back here, not Rayla.” 

Yet Callum wouldn’t back down. Now he focused his gaze toward the elf, and Rayla felt her face grow even hotter. “But should we really be listening to someone who ran around without leads for nearly two years?”

And it was like the world went red .

Rayla slammed her fists on the table, causing nearly every Council member to jump from their seat, and even Bait to let out a surprised grump . 

“You know nothing ,” the elf growled, “about what I was doing - about what Viren's already done , and who else he could have hurt .” At this, Rayla felt a heaviness weigh down in the depths of her pockets. 

The secret sack of coins - each holding a family member that she loved - felt heavy and burdensome, like a forbidden treasure hidden within the fabric of her civilian clothes.

Sleepy soren (yes this artwork was inspired by the short story between these two which is the crown guard) I'm still kinda new to this ship tbh it took some time to grow on me lol but I really like how their personalities work together and how (i believe) that their personalities being so different they can expand on the characters in different ways that we have not seen them before and could lead to a interesting dynamics between them (I just wish they had more screen time together). For example I believe Its why ships like Rayla and Callum work so well because they are very different making us see them in multiple different ways but they are understand eachother and are willing to see things in each others few even if they disagree and i believe these are some of the reasons why sorvus (soren x corvus) is such a good ship and could actually work in canon.

Sorry for any bad gramma i just find this ship interesting idk if it will become canon but i think it could actually work out if it did.

If dragon prince ends with like the humans and xadia becoming separate worlds or something because Humans are too arrogant and power hungry to appreciate it I will sue.

Like they pulled that card in how to train your dragon and while it was the correct choice it killed me and I cannot go through it again.

If i had a nickel for every time a beloved animated Netflix series ended after 7/8 seasons, and had the most off the rocker (neg) ending, i’d have three nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened three times.

A doc written just after the release of season 6, simply titled "the dragon prince" (only about nine pages are WIP of a different project. The rest is the entirety of the Bluegrass AU posted on Ao3)

Another doc simply titled "the dragon prince misc. (And cat poem)" (Cat poem unrelated to Sorvus, just a poem equating cats and autism)

In all honesty, I was a bit surprised with how much I actually had relating to these dumb gay people (affectionate). A lot of the projects were too daunting and never finished, or just need to be edited and are done otherwise. I get very particular with what I post, but this is making me want to fine tune some things and post a few. Who knows

I also enjoy the random poetry I find between notes and sections that have nothing to do with the dragon prince. Its just something I thought of, and this dragon prince fanfic is the closest place to write it.

I don't have many Tumblr mutuals, and I think everyone in Sorvus nation that is a regular writer has already been tagged by each other, so I tag YOU! the person reading this post! It may be a bit of a cop out, but hey, I'm spreading the fun. Thanks for tagging me :) :P

Sea foam woman on the shore

In which Corvus talks to Callum. Read on ao3!

Corvus took his time walking back up the stairs, along the side of the cliff. He didn’t have anywhere to be, as far as he was aware, but the beach, the place he went to get away from people, felt oddly lonely.

He snorted lightly at the irony as he reached the top. The sun was still stuck behind a blanket of clouds, but it was warmer up here than it was on the beach.

“Corvus!” He turned and saw Prince Callum jogging down the brick street towards him, several books stashed in his arms. “Hi!” He said once he caught up to Corvus, breathing heavily.

“Hello, Prince Callum.” He nodded in greeting, and he waved him off.

“Please just call me Callum.” 

“I don’t think I’m legally allowed to do that.”

“Well, I’m giving you permission to.” Callum gave him a half-smile as he walked alongside Corvus. “Tomorrow’s going to be your first Night of the Sun in Katolis, right?”

“More of first one ever.” he responded. “I’m not around water often, so I’ve never really partaken in its celebration.”

The prince’s eyes brightened. “Then I’m glad you’re here. It’s so much fun.”

Corvus gave him a small smile, pulling out his notebook. “Tell me about it.”

Callum glanced at the notebook in his hands“Are you gonna write it down?”

He nodded. “Just in case I need a refresher later.”

“Alright. Well, it starts at sunset, when the moon starts coming up, since that’s when the magic starts working due to it being the only night where the full moon and the sun are seen fully in the sky. It’s all in the castle, everyone’s invited and it lasts until the sun rises, which is when the magic ends, I think.

“Seafood is served, which I used to think was insensitive, considering they’re half fish-”

“Half orca.” Corvus corrected gently, writing down what Callum was saying.

“Half what?” He raised an eyebrow.

“Half orca. Or mollusk.”

“What the hell’s an orca?”

He shrugged. “No clue.”

“What book d’you find that in?” Callum asked him.

“Oh- uh, not a book.” He glanced over at the ocean beside them. “I talked to a mer earlier. Apparently it’s a common misconception.”

His eyes brightened. “Did she have a teal tail and purple eyes?”

Corvus frowned lightly. “Uh… no. He had a red tail and blue eyes. Nice company though.”

“Oh.” Callum glanced at the ocean before looking ahead, sounding a bit disappointed.

“...Is there someone you were hoping on seeing?” He gave the prince an amused look.

“What! No, I-”He sighed. “...Yeah. But please don’t tell Aunt Amaya, I’ll never hear the end of it from her and Gren.”

“I promise.” He gave him a small smile. “So… who is she?”

“Well, her name is Rayla,” Callum started. “She’s a midsea mer. A bit scary, but she’s really nice to talk to. She has good jokes.”

“I’m glad you made a friend, Callum.”

“Is she really a friend if I’ve only met her once?”

Corvus looked out back at the ocean a final time before answering.

“Yeah. Yeah, I think so.”

“So, are you gonna tell me about the mer you met?” Callum asked him a bit later. They were now walking through the town marketplace, a colorful and bustling area that Corvus didn’t find himself in all that often outside the necessary trips.

“What do you want to know?” He answered, picking up an orange and looking at it for dark spots.

“What was his name?”

“Soren.”

“Age?”

“Around mine, I think.” He shrugged, putting the orange back. “I didn’t ask.”

“What color were his fins?”

“Red. Like his tail.”

“Really?” Callum tilted his head in thought.

Corvus looked at him. “What?”

“The only mers around Katolis with the normal tails are midsea, which have silver, and surface, which have gold. I don’t think he was from around here.”

He raised his eyebrows, flipping open his notebook to the mer page.

-Midsea mers have silver fins

-Surface mers have gold fins

“Which do you think he was, then?” He asked the prince.

He paused a moment to think. “Lagoon? Or cave spring, but that seems a bit more unlikely.” He bit his lip. “Oh! He could be a reef mer also. Was his tail one solid color or more of an ombre?”

Corvus thought back to Soren and his blood red tail. “Definately solid.”

“Lagoon mer, then. Reef mers have more veriety in their tails to blend in with the coral better.”

-Lagoon mers have fins that match their tails

-Reef mers have multicolored tails (blends in with coral reefs)

“What else d’you want to know about him?” Corvus asked the prince.

“Was he nice?” Callum asked, and he nodded.

“Yeah. Yeah, he was nice.” I think he was trying to flirt with me. “He said he had to leave because he was meeting up with his sister.”

“I wonder why there are lagoon mers near Katolis…” His lips pursed in thought. “Maybe you’ll see him tomorrow night.

Corvus shrugged. “Maybe.”

Part of him hoped that he would. He liked talking to Soren. He was funny. Like, genuinely funny. Not one of those times where you feel forced to laugh because everyone else was laughing or because you felt bad.

He hadn’t felt like that in a long time. Longer than Corvus cared to admit out loud.

Out loud, he said. “Maybe you’ll see Rayla.”

Callum’s face flushed red, hiding behind one of his books before looking at one of the stands, something catching his eye. He picked it up, and Corvus peered over his shoulder to look at it.

It was a hairpin, with the end shaped like a crescent moon, made from a spotted sea shell. The prongs were made from silver, and looked like it was made to hold up a lot of hair.

“You gonna get it for her?”

“Maybe.”

He gave the prince a knowing look, and he sighed. “Yeah, yeah. But, only if you get Soren something.”

Corvus rasied his eyebrows. “You’re the one with a crush here.”

Callum gave him the same knowing look. “Really?”

“Shush.” His eyes scanned the market table in front of them before noticing a small ceramic statue of a sheep. It was a creamy white with dark brown horns that curled like a ram, and very cute.

Corvus picked up the small statue, and Callum raised an eyebrow. “Sheep?”

“Uh– Yeah. He told me about how they herd fish, and compared it to herding sheep.” he explained to the prince. “I think he’ll like it.”

“Well, then I guess I’m getting this.” He gestured to the hairpin, and Corvus gave him a small smile.

“I guess you are.”

Callum: Straight. Is pretty versatile in his preferences, as long as they're not too butch.

Ezran: Asexual. Closest thing he'll ever have to romance is his love for jelly tarts, lol.

Rayla: Straight demisexual. Fell in love with Callum because she adores him.

Soren: Gay. Likes men as beefy as he is.

Claudia: Straight. Though she's fine with pre-transition trans guys.

Viren: Bisexual. Totally had a thing for Harrow - and Aaravos, too, but he keeps it to himself.

Aaravos: Pansexual. And this bastard is a shameless flirt, I tell you.

Like the Tides

Another door slammed in their faces. The scraping sound of it grated on her mind like knives being drawn across cobblestones  - and Stella actually jumped as the noise startled the little creature. Turning to go, Soren’s sing-song voice cut through the now-muffled shouts of the elves that resided at the residence.  “ Soooo, ” he started, speaking over the colorful, cuss-filled language that was now emitting through the closed door, “how’d you find this place, anyway?” 

Rayla snorted at the question and Stella chitted her teeth, almost as if the cuddlemonkey knew it would strike a nerve. But the elf figured the Crown Guard would eventually be fishing for information about this place. “You’re the one who picked this house,” she joked, side-stepping the inquiry.

Soren wrinkled his nose in annoyance. “You know what I meant,” he responded, pursing his lips together in a pout. 

“Information gets around,” Rayla said vaguely, “and when I was on my own, I was… looking for something.” A clue that came from a tip that came from a whisper that a Dark Mage was making an illegal trade, who could have turned out to be your father but it wasn’t seemed liked too much to say, and she didn’t want to ruin Soren’s optimism with the mention of Viren anyway. “I got the lead and had to see for myself. It was actually my last stop before coming…” her words trailed off before she could properly finish the sentence. 

Going where, Rayla? To Katolis? To Callum? Home?

…Was Katolis even her home?

YES… a few years ago tdp was actually my main interest, i was absolutely OBSESSED with the show. i still really love it and i think the plot and characters are very well-written !!

the thing is… it’s so good that i love all of the characters so much, it’s genuinely impossible for me to pick a favorite. i love ezran, callum, and rayla a lot, but i also love a lot of the other side characters like soren, amaya, janai, harrow, runaan, ethari, etc. and then in s4 they added terry (who’s great!) and claudia and viren developed even more (i think they’re the most interesting characters in the show). but every character seems like they have a ‘place’ in the story, and they all seem important in their own ways i think?
