I can't believe we lost it. Everything that happens in season two is horrifying. You know, I thought Viktor was just going to slowly become evil himself. Martial law or realizing his own weakness. But it's happening in the worst possible way. Killed twice, stripped of his humanity because of his friend's decision. Stripped of his humanity a SECOND time because of some confusion about the future. Convinced he's helping others, but actually harming them. Inside the fading shell lives again a person who genuinely wants to help others. He hasn't gotten one bit angrier. He is actually the purest, most inquisitive and sweetest creature in the world! Who didn't get angry even after everything that happened. And we're gonna lose him. We're gonna lose him.

Jayce started working on Hextech because he wanted to help people the same way the mage helped him. All his work was an attempt to recreate the power of mages. And then, he accidentally turned his friend into a half-machine whose only objective so far has been to take away others' suffering.
