Fan art for Town of Salem 2 of the Arsonist. (face detail and process/lineart underneath the cut)

Welcome to the extended version where I talk about this artwork more. I had initially planned to Serial Killer or Pestilence next, but then, it snowed IRL. Probably about 5-7 inches locally, which is incredibly rare for here. Anyway, I was cold and was thinking of warm things, like hot chocolate and fire. Then, I wanted to draw Arsonist.

I combined the ToS 1 and ToS 2 designs a bit, though the lighting definitely hid some of the detailing I did. You'll see that in the flat color later.

I did the head first entirely- lineart, colors, and shading- and then posted that as the first WIP. But then I came back to clean up my sketch and then line the rest of the body and the oil. Yes, the oil is in fact lined. I typically prefer to line everything so coloring is easier.

And here comes the part where it becomes becomes obvious how much lighting can do to a drawing. Behold, the true "flat" colors (All non-lighting Normal layers only).

You've heard of "is the dress gold/white or blue/black"? Yeah. That's how I feel.

I was planning on potentially doing a background, but after sketching one out, I felt the drawing would become a bit too busy. Plus, I felt if I kept re-attempting one, I would never finish this. So, I left it as it is shown above the cut.
