i am a year maybe more late to the party but like LMFAOOO umm.. here's my town of salem shipping chart 🤗💓 using @aegirine-purple's template

explanations for most of these pairings down below if you want to read. spoiler alert, ITS A YAPPING FEST:

i think the coven is just a huge polycule. and they have inner polycule dynamics as most of them do but i haven't thought about this in detail

i know consig has her skin but i fucking love consig/invest lmfao it's probably still one of my favorite ships even after all these years. there's a huge trend of me liking (townie role) x (mafia equivalent) which is basically the peak (imho) tos pairings.

mafia deception are family but in the found family way. a weird ragtag group. i'd put them into platonic too now that i think abt it. i got this hc from the old fucking days where disguiser had to have a forger/janitor cause they just straight up replaced a PLAYER on the town lmfao. technically disg still works perfectly w/ forger if there's no spies. and oh yeah framer's there too (also works great with disg). mafia support (consig/bmer/consort) don't have this type of familiarity with each other.

pb/ga: i got this idea from a lovers' mode game i had a loooong time ago that required pb to infect me to become pestilence and the pb was just apologizing profusely to me and it was very sweet and heartwrenching. i like to think that for pestilence, one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse (also interpreted as conquest) to have a guardian angel is just so fucking sickening. absolute evil and good. saving grace and absolute armageddon from the heavens. this makes zero sense how i say it but to me it does. this is probably my favorite ship to the point where i had a wip of them and i lost it lol

mayor/gf would be funny, as in i don't ship it/like it but it would be basically like. peak town corruption. i feel this way about most gf ships.

to expand on the light blue line, it's basically "i don't ship this or have thought about this ever from a role pairing standpoint but this is the (or just a) pairing in my tos canon". there'd be more if i actually sat down and worked on my canon but like I Haven't I Just Got Back Into It. sue me. anyway invest stands with his cancelled husband. they're kind of divorced but they remarry (metaphorically). also this ship in the endgame becomes bmer/consig but pretend you dont know this info lol

had to start off with a quick little mafioso sketch cuz hess my fav wahh (this was supposed to be a perspective study lmao) + alt version bcuz i thought it looked cool

A few years back, I got really into town of Salem. For those unfamiliar, it's basically the same thing as Werewolves- you've got two main factions trying to wipe each other out (townies and mafia) and then a bunch of other smaller roles with their own goals to fulfil.

One time, I played with a guy who was absolutely hilarious. The entire time they were roleplaying as if they were genuinely a real-life guy getting in a real-life village for the first time and being horrified by the amount of murder and lynching going on, throwing stuff in the chat like "man this town sucks so bad do you guys even have any wifi" "CHRIST SOMEONE DIED" "oh so we're all voting to put the culprit in jail right- YOU FUCKING KILLED THEM??" and they NEVER broke the bit.

Unfortunately, this annoyed some people, and folks tried to lynch them. They only survived because I and another guy both voted to spare them, and the resulting tie allowed them to live.

Fast forward to the end of the game. There are five people remaining:

Two confirmed townies (I don't remember their exact roles, but I remember neither of them had any killing abilities)

Me (Werewolf; the win conditions are a bit complicated, but as of rn I win if the townies die)

The other guy who voted to spare the rper (Witch; they can win with any evil role, aka they win if I survive and the townies die)

At this point of the game everyone's faction is obvious. So who wins and who loses depends entirely on the last vote of the game (either the townies kill me and they win, or I don't get killed and I can murder bitches the next morning) and specifically it depends on who the rper is going to side with.

But the funny thing is. That rper's role was. "Survivor." As in. They win so long as they survive to the end of the game, it doesn't matter whether townies or mafias or third factions win.

And because me and the witch voted to spare them. They sided with us.

Years later I still remember this game. Surv rper from 2018 if you're out there I remember you and I love you.

Who is so much into ToS 2 that one of their last game gave them a fanfic idea? Me. Me, totally.

That or a character idea that just feels guilt and regret for the first time in their life (They did was they should, why does the burning bodies of the town's citizen feels heavy? Where had gone the joy of feeding the fire from innocents' life? Why did they miss all of them? is probably going to be a paragraph in it) -General, winning as Arsonist in Town of Salem 2 for the first time ever, making all the townie think they were with them because the stars aligned for once

My favourite Town of Salem headcanons for the townies are the ones I have based on things that frequently happen in-game. People mix up the Medium and the Doctor because they're identical twins with similar names. The Spy, Lookout, and Jailor have an elaborate, 3-way secret handshake. The Transporter is transgender, celibate, and doesn't drink alcohol. The Mayor is a fucking idiot.
