デビュー10周年を迎えたfhánaが、新たなステージに挑戦します。佐藤純一（key, cho）を中心に結成されたtowana（Vocal）、kevin mitsunaga（Sampler, etc.）による3人組バンド、fhánaが、TVアニメ『義妹生活』のオープニング主題歌「天使たちの歌」を担当することが決定しました。さらに、この楽曲は2024年7月4日（水）にデジタルリリースされることが発表されました。

Edwardian Fashion Show

Here are the three outfits, modeled by Goodreau BJDs.

The Evening Gown. It came with earrings, a necklace, a handbag, spats, and a fascinator. There was also a piece of double stick foam to attach the fascinator, but I used a straight pin.

Roxy looks fantastic in this. It fits her body perfectly. The details are splendid! The handbag has a working clasp, and the fascinator has beading on it!

The Day Dress. It came with a necklace and earrings, a handbag, spats and a picture hat. Functional handbag clasp, lovely details on the hat, though I will want to gently steam it to fluff up the tulle.

The Tea Dress.

No handbag or hat, but it's a two-piece gown and robe set. Cameo earrings and white spast complete the ensemble.

In honor of my friend A who would be chuffed to wear this dress, I put it on Towana.

I still want to know what company made this set. (Hey@dollblr can you help a fellow collector out?) Each dress was on a hanger, in a separate plastic bag, with the identification of each style printed in a chancery font on a sticker. The accessories were in their own bag, tucked in with each dress. It sure looks like a porcelain doll wardrobe, but they fit my slim MSDs exactly. I haven't pierced my dolls ears, but these sets certainly tempt me.

I still can't believe I found these in pristine condition at a thrift store for under $4.

🎶 Soul Singer Ty Karin née Veatrice Thomas and a member of the groups Towana & The Total Destruction.

Hardly known beyond the end of the street in LA where she became a recording artist, she was born in Mississippi. She was active from the 60s through to the 80s. Most of her recordings were produced by her second husband Kent Harris. She died in 1983.

Maomao no Hitorigoto Episode 12 : Cordyceps Sinensis / 猫猫のひとりごと　第12話　『冬虫夏草(とうちゅうかそう/Tochukaso)』

Maomao “♪Han, han, han-ha-han… Han, ha-han-hannn♪”

Jinshi “…Nani’o odotte-iru…”

Jinshi “Why are you dancing…?”

猫猫「これが踊らずにいられましょうか～！は��～！」

Maomao “Korega odorazuni irare-mashokaaa! Haaaa!”

Maomao “How can I be without dancing now? Ahhh!”

猫猫「ここで、猫猫の豆知識。この植物は冬虫夏草。これはキノコの一種で、寄生した虫の栄養分で成長する。漢方として重宝されており、不老長寿、強壮の秘薬として、非常に希少性が高いのだ」

Maomao “Kokode, Maomao’no mame-chishiki. Kono shokubutsuwa tochukaso. Korewa kinokono isshude, kisei-shita mushino eiyo-bunde seicho suru. Kanpo-to-shite choho-sarete-ori, furo-choju, kyosono hiyaku-to-shite, hijoni kisho-seiga takai-noda.”

Maomao “Here’s Maomao’s bits of knowledge. This plant is Cordyceps sinensis. It’s a type of mushroom that grows on the nutrients of an insect it parasitizes. It’s highly valued as a traditional Chinese medicine, and is extremely rare as it’s said to be a secret elixir of eternal youth and longevity.”

壬氏「虫を貰ってこんなに喜ぶとはな…」

Jinshi “Mushi’o moratte konnani yorokobu-towana…”

Jinshi “You are that happy to receive ‘an insect’…”

猫猫「虫ではないです。キノコです。冬は虫だったのに夏になると草のようなキノコが生えるところからこの名前になったと言われ…」

Maomao “Mushi-dewa nai-desu. Kinoko desu. Fuyuwa mushi-datta-noni natsuni Naruto kusano-yona kinokoga haeru-tokoro-kara kono namaeni nattato iware…”

Maomao “It’s not an insect. It’s a mushroom. It’s said that it got its name because it’s an insect in the winter, but in the summer, a grass-like mushroom grows…”

壬氏「わかった。わかったから…」

Jinshi “Wakatta. Wakatta-kara…”

Jinshi “I understand. I understand already.”

「何を踊っている…(なにをおどっている/Nani’o odotte-iru)」: If it’s literally translated, it can be “What are you dancing to?”, but this line means “Why are you dancing?” The reason why I didn’t put “?” at the end of Japanese line is that Jinshi is not asking why but just amazed. He already knows why Maomao is dancing.

「これが踊らずにいられましょうか～！(これがおどらずにいられましょうか～！/Korega odorazuni irare-mashokaaa!)」 : Though I translated into “How can I be without dancing now?”, I’m wondering if it’s natural as an English line. If not, please let me know more natural wording.

「～せずにはいられない」: cannot but do, cannot help doing

「ところで」: When this word is at the beginning of a sentence, it means “By the way.” If it’s in the middle of a sentence, it means different.

Ex.1) 「ところで、昨日はどこへ行ったの？（ところで、きのうはどこへいったの？/Tokorode, kinowa doko’e ittano?）」

→ “By the way, where did you go yesterday?” 「ところで」: By the way

Ex.2) 「今そんなことを言ったところで、状況は変わらない。（いまそんなことをいったところで、じょうきょうはかわらない/Ima sonna koto’o itta-tokorode, jokyowa kawara-nai）」

→ “Even if I say such a thing now, the situation will not change.” 「～したところで」: Even if doing

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Tomorrow is the December BJD meet. I'm planning to pick up my mom and take her.

Diane volunteered to be Santa this year. I think this weird porcelain doll outfit suits her nicely!

I hope these two Hohohos can quit drinking long enough to finish trimming the trees...

Actually I'm tickled by these outfits I put together for the meet. I wanted something contemporary, and this awesome gnome sweater was a post-holiday sale item last year. Towana is wearing the official Goodreau Santa Baby ensemble, plus the vest from her Ranger costume. She swapped hats with Alexis, which I think is super cute.

And here's Snow White as the Snow Queen. Neve was delighted to try this dress on; she wants to play Sarah in the Labyrinth in the spring. This gown and cape set came off of a porcelain doll, who is not getting her clothes back.

I spent far too much time on the trees, but now I can incorporate them into my decor.

Icky the Bat will also be joining us for the BJD meet tomorrow.

I just got her to watch Coco, and since he hates animated movies/anything marketed towards kids and largely anything that isnt a rom-com, it was a struggle but as soon as I would pause the movie to compare Mexican beliefs to Anishinaabe ones, she started to like it and by the end she was so entranced that she felt the need to put out a spirit plate for our ancestors
