thinking about this one post i saw that suggested bat’s been taking over other territories this whole time because they started out saying they represent nagoya in drb➕, a city within aichi prefecture, to saying they represent the chubu area in hella awesome banquet which encompasses 8-10 other prefectures in the area lmao

Fudou breathes a sigh of relief when Ookurikara agrees, and he follows with his eyes to where Shokudaikiri is... And he watches, for a moment as Sada, Shokudaikiri, and Tsurumaru seem to be relatively at ease considering everything.

As they head off, Fudou finds himself fidgeting as he ruminates some about it, and how different the Date swords seem to be with each other than his own fellow Nobunaga blades. From his point of view, anyway, they all seem to view their former masters' family in a positive light, and it pains him to compare it to how his own view of Oda Nobunaga seems to be so skewed from the rest-- Hasebe seems to hate him, Souza seems to resent him, and Yagen... Yagen doesn't seem to feel strongly either way, which sometimes is helpful, but is often equally as hard for Fudou to understand.

He's keeping an eye out for an eatery of some kind, but as soon as he's completely sure they're out of earshot from the others, he speaks up.

"... Hey, Ookurikara..." He moves a step ahead some, and leans forward so he can look Ookurikara in the face while he speaks. "How do you guys... how do you all get along so well? Is it because you all love your former masters?"

Ookurikara sees Fudou looking at Hasebe and figures that the tantou probably wants to avoid him for a while.

While he has occasionally been on the receiving end of Hasebe's tirades, he can imagine that Fudou has it much worse, given their opposing opinions on a former master and Fudou's tendency to rush headfirst into things. It isn't really his place to say that Hasebe could handle these sorts of situations better, but it would save him the headache that would come with some of the shouting matches that result.

"Yeah." His eyes fall on the rest of the unit. Hasebe has patched up Sada, who is animatedly telling Mitsutada and Tsurumaru something. Mitsutada notices his gaze and smiles. Ookurikara motions towards himself and Fudou and then behind them. Mitsutada nods and Ookurikara turns to Fudou. "Let's go."

#noooo ur so right #hasebe and fudou are complicated but. very stressful to put it mildly #and indeed very loud #not a fun time for anyone lol #especially when fudou gets a little belligerent about nobunaga and hasebe just flips his gotdang lid #ookurikara is a welcome change for fudou lol #also my god i'm so sorry fudou does a lot of thinking apparently and the shit gets long #also i remembered that post pointing out how in toukai fudou gets up to people's faces when he talks to them lol so
