( there are many other smaller Wizarding schools in the Wizarding world other than the Big 11 schools, and some are ' sister schools ' of the Big 11 )

The Torrefaro School of Magic becomes the largest Wizarding school in Italy, and one of the sister schools of Beauxbatons

It is located amongst the part of the Appenine Mountains near Florence ( ie the birth city of the Italian renaissance ), and founded in the early 14th century

There are various old Italian Wizarding schools, yet Torrefaro becomes famous for training some of the top astronomers, divination mages and philosophers in the Wizarding world. It is founded by a team of highly enlightened mages in the Italian Renaissance to boost even better diplomatic relations between certain Italian factions

The education system is loosely based on the Montessori Education system

Torrefaro means ' beacon tower ' in Italian, since the Torrefaro School campus is made of multiple towers with mainly white walls and red domes. The Astronomy tower, the tallest tower of Torrefaro, also can ignite orange flames when it calls the Torrefaro banners to war

Torrefaro School Uniforms

The school uniforms of Torrefaro are mainly in red, white and green. Students regularly wear red or green cloaks over their mainly black uniforms.

Torrefaro Education system

Torrefaro runs a similar education system as Beauxbatons ( like the other ' sister schools ' of Beauxbatons ), except the main language of education is Italian. Torrefaro is one of the top schools for astronomy and divination sciences. The magic students learn in Torrefaro has roots in Ancient Roman magic and Medieval/Renaissance Italian magic. Students also get to be exposed to various cultural aspects that are famous in the Italian Renaissance - like art curation, poetry and a drama club.

Main student demographic

Torrefaro intakes mainly Italian students, but students of any nationality are welcome to apply ( it's a similar case with many other prestigious Wizarding schools ). The student demographic mainly consists of Mediterranean and North African students.

Torrefaro School Meals

Ofc, Italians are known foodies, and the Torrefaro School kitchens aspire to make fresh Italian food for the students ( notably drizzled in Olive Oil ).

Since the introduction of tomatoes in Italy in the 16th century, tomatoes became insanely popular amongst its students. And in the 16th century, the students are especially eager for ' tomato days ' where the school meals are tomato themed.
