After Sailing three nights and four days, we arrive in the Island of Old Providence also know as Isla de Providencia generally known as Providencia or Providence, is a mountainous Caribbean island that is part of the Colombian department of Archipelago of San Andrés. The island was destroyed In November 2020, Hurricane LOTA directly impacted the island. An estimated 98% of all infrastructure was destroyed from the impact, making it one of the worst and strongest tropical cyclones to impact Colombia.

2023 Bahamas Cruise, Part 18, Apr. 12. Weather hold on Long Island.

What do you do when the water is this clear and calm? Jump in! Bahamas are not all beaches, pina coladas and “green flash” sunsets. After these two flat calm days, the next two days we were surrounded by storms from a stalled cold front. Miami flooded with 8” of rain in two days. Yet, we never really got rain.

Easter Sunday, I dropped off Nancy at the closest dinghy dock to St. Joseph’s Anglican/Episcopal church in Thompson Bay. You can just barely see it in the background behind her. Around fifty people were in attendance. She had met most of them during our time on the Island. A much more reserved service, than last years service in Black Point. No tambourines, no kids choir, and a third the time. Fifty/fifty men and women, where Black Point was a high majority of women.

After dropping Nancy off, I swung by the Thompson Bay Yacht Club. Cruisers over time have set up a small picnic area on shore here, dubbed TBYC. No one was here. Only two of us are anchored in the bay now. Then I headed back to the boat for boat chores. Took the trash to shore. Filled the water tank using our water maker. Trickle charged the start battery and fixed a thing or two.

Nancy called on the VHF radio for a pick up at Basil’s dock. Once we got back to the boat, we lifted the anchor and headed north. Great wind from the west for sailing on a beam reach. Nancy baked bread while the boat was heeled 10-15 degrees to starboard.

Just before the two loaves of Coconut cinnamon bread came out of the oven we sailed over the Tropic of Cancer northbound. Coordinates are displayed on the top left of the chart plotter, N23 26.031 Actual Longitude of the Tropic of Cancer North 23 degrees 26 minutes and 10 seconds. We anchored off of Simms Settlement on Long Island. That is where you see Nancy jumping off the boat. She paddleboared along the shore. While I made water on the boat.

The next day we dinghied to Simms Government Dock where the mail boat comes in. With a west wind blowing the dinghy against the sharp rocks. I sent Nancy on walk about, while I oared around in the dinghy. She visited the prison and several graveyards. The prison and most buildings in town had outhouses near them. Not sure if either the outhouse or prison have been used in recent history. Think Mayberry RFD, Bahama out island style.

Just before we left for shore another monohull sailboat pulled into OUR anchorage. This is OUR anchorage damn it! As soon as we got back to the boat we pulled anchor and went north around the next point. I had gotten lazy and forgot to check the charts. We went from 7 ft. depth to 5 ft. in a couple of seconds. Oops! I went to idle and started the turn back to deep water. Too late…..squeakkkkk. We had skidded to a stop in pure white sand. Quick check of the shore for current tide. Looks kind of low. Pull up weather app. we are close to low. Had this been a sailing YouTube channel. All sorts of drama could be made up. Water was flat calm. First dropped the 55 pound anchor and twenty feet of chain that weighs 1 lb. per foot. The chain laid over the top of the anchor in a pile. Had some snacks and a beer. Went swimming. Walked chest deep around the boat. Nancy jumped off the boat and hit bottom doing so. Wind changed 180 degrees and picked up enough to move the boat when we floated free. So pulled in the pile of chain with the anchor suspended above the sand. Couple of hours later…..we floated free after dark. Waited until 7 ft. showed on the depth finder. Then drop the anchor and chain, then went to bed. Next morning we snorkeled around the boat.

This blue tip crab put up his dukes, when I stopped by. Reviewing weather, anchorages and possible plans we decided to sail back to Thompson Bay. Then rent a car and tour the north end of the island. Wind was on our nose, so we only sailed an hour; then motored to Thompson Bay. In between rain storms we took 4 jerry jugs to Long Island Petroleum for diesel and gas. Had a great talk with Walter Fox the part owner.

On Wednesday when the weather seemed to break. We hiked over the island to the ocean side, then south along the beach for a mile. Then back across the island to the “Sou’ side” (Sound side) of the island. Round trip walking was a little over 3 miles. We were hot and tired with nothing but photos to show for our beach hike. We are surprised that little to no shells on the reef side of the island. Today though we were both looking for Ambergris. Found lots of tar balls, but no ambergris.

On the way to the dinghy we stopped at the “Sou’ side” bar for a cold Kalik beer and cracked chicken. Then back to the boat.

I've been seeing posts about IWTV's pisspoor ratings all season long. I don't use social media other than Youtube & Tumblr, so IDK what goes on elsewhere, but on Tumblr IWTV trends in the Top 3 every week, going head to head with HotD & Dr Who; and way more people are reacting to it on Youtube, too.

Word of mouth is powerful; I talk to fans IRL all the time. I got a few of my friends to watch it, and I've gone to conventions & bought fanmade AMC!Loustat merch from BOOK fans who love this show. So I know people are out there tryna get the word out, grassroots.

But clearly more work needs to be done, if ratings are tanking. And I feel like AMC's the one shooting themselves in the foot. Cuz we're out here putting in the work. But wtf does AMC expect, when its streaming platform is darn near irrelevant, and even the availability of this show is some of the worst I've ever seen. It makes NO sense how people in the UK don't get IWTV for MONTHS after the season ENDS, when darn near half the cast is BRITISH! Their own people can't even watch the show! Thank god the Australians have it, otherwise a large chunk of the non-USA fans actively promoting this show via gifs & metas & videos & clips wouldn't even be able to see it AT ALL! 🏴‍☠️ Making niche shows accessible ONLY on niche streaming services/channels will KILL IT faster than anything else! IDKY why AMC hasn't partnered with Netflix or something, so way more people have easier availability & don't need to sail the seven seas with VPNs & crap just to watch one show FFS! Prestige can only take you so far if no one knows your show exists; and the ones who do can't even watch it legally!

I'm well past 30, and most of the reactors I watch are 30+ too. I start with plane because that was the second word in skz lyrics I ever recognized! The reason for it was that I just started learning with a teacher who taught me that word and then a few hours later heard the song: Airplane!

The Celestial and the Company info

Okay gang so this really isn’t a chapter but a bit of background info. After discovering the youtube channel NERD OF THE RINGS (shout out to you there) and a couple of other LOTR fandom youtube pages like Men of the West and The Broken sword (go check out their work).

They’ve helped expand my knowledge of Tolkien’s world and DAMN ONE. MAN. did ALL of it. So using some knowledge that I’ve learned from those channels, I’d like to give out my mythology and background story of my characters The CELESTIALS of Middle Earth.

THE BEGINNING: 

The best place is to always start at the beginning, right? Well after learning the history of Middle Earth, and like I’ve said in the prologue, the Celestials were basically the first creatures to come to Middle Earth.

Now for those that don’t really know, Middle Earth and Amon (where the elves came from) are two separate places. During the Year of the trees (if I’m correct about this. Die hard Tolkien fans let me know) that’s when the Elves began to sail out from Amon and make their homes in Middle Earth.

The Celestials respect those that come into their land and for those that are blessed by the Valar are treated as equals to them.

Now I will elaborate on this further in the story but I want to go ahead and write it down first. After watching Nerd of the Ring’s videos on the Valar (Lords and Queens) I want to point out just where the Celestials stand.

Unlike the Elves, Celestials are basically like deities in human form (and are sometimes treated as such especially when the the Men come to Middle Earth). When in truth if we want to get into the schematics of it all, basically imagine Celestials being equal to Angels of God.

According to Nerd of the Rings in his video Queens of the Valar, he states that “Eru Ilúvatar” is GOD (BIG G) and the Valar are gods (little g), so I would rank the Celestials as the level of “Angels” (for those that know Supernatural, Angel mythology in that show has the angels be warriors of God. So it’s like that for the Celestials but along with being warriors, they are also creators and teachers). 

They are blessed by the Valar with not only immortality but certain gifts to help Middle Earth prosper and the creatures of Middle Earth thrive. Some of them are even worthy enough to gain the gifts of the Valar themselves (or a gift very similar to a certain Valar god) and that’s what ranks them up as the High Celestial court.

RANKING:

Now as I stated the Valar helped create the Celestials just like they created or helped awaken the Elves, Dwarves and Ents. Now Every Celestial as a ranking as you’ll see as we go deeper into the story. Each Celestial is given a special gift, but there are certain Celestials than surpass the others and they are known what is the HIGH CELESTIALS!

The Celestial Prime:

 Let’s first start off at the top of the list, the Celestial Prime. 

The Celestial Prime is the first of everything, and in this case Ajak was the first Celestial ever created by the Valar. Whomever is Celestial Prime sees to it that all Celestials are given their proper gifts approved by the Valar, and they alone create the Celestials and give them life. They are also the Mother/Father of all Celestials and are to be shown the utmost respect.

They are also the strongest of all Celestials, not only in power but also in how they use their power in the world, and with Ajak’s gift of Healing, she has proven to be the Celestial Prime for all things need healing, not just in the physical sense but also mentally and spiritually.

The High Celestial Council:

This council consists a total of 10 Celestials (including the Celestial prime so it makes 11). They are either chosen to be in this court by either proving themselves to be the strongest Celestial out of their founding groups, or to be born as the first of a new breed of Celestials (like Kingo, Druig, Makkari, Hela and Sprite).

They are the protectors and guides for their other Celestials and helping them use their powers to help Middle Earth prosper and thrive with life. They help train those that struggle with their gifts and also are the most qualified to help lands unite together or form powerful alliances between Celestials and the people the roam throughout Middle Earth.

The Powers of a Celestial:

 Now I know some of you may be thinking, ‘okay so this will end up being a Mary Sue OC story where nothing can surpass this character and she’s all mighty and Powerful’ right?

WRONG-O!!!!!!

For you see while a Celestial can have strong powers that can fit within their specific power (eg Druig as the Celestial of the Mind. He can levitate objects, read minds, control people, etc.) a Celestial CAN. NOT. control a power that is not their own for a long period of time.

As you’ll see with Hela, while she can borrow and use the power of her siblings and Celestial Prime, she has no full control over it. And if she uses too much, it burns out her energy (again as you’ll see in this story, esp. when we meet Azog and the orcs after the Goblin cave scene).

Sibling ranks:

Now this may or may not be important to you but this is also to kinda help me keep track of Hela’s siblings. Plus if anyone wants to know the age ranking of each sibling, we can expand on this a bit. I’ll also try to put in roughly their birthdates and years in which I can see them being born in.

I meant to say this immediately after the BFB finale, but here goes.

In the credits roll, Michael and Cary talked to the viewer as a sign-off to BFB. And the first time after I watched that, it really served to show me what BFB was ultimately about fulfilling.

The episode wasn’t just meant to bring the best possible ending to a great series—although it was. It was about fulfilling the dreams of those two 7th-grade children who created the show in the first place.

Even though it had been a team that created BFB—animated it, voiced the characters, wrote the story—where was the team in the credits sequence? They weren’t here. It was just Michael and Cary, talking directly to you.

They had come this far. They all had. Eleven years of history; many people in the crew who worked on BFDI had actually grown up with it when they were younger. But most of all, it was Michael and Cary who grew up with it most.

Jacknjellify was their channel. A channel which hosted a massively influential show, yes, a show which was managed by dozens of people inspired by what Michael and Cary had done.

But at the end of the day, the crew just handed over the reins to the Huang twins and let them say their credits lines however they wanted to say them. This was their moment.

And as a sidenote, I think the example that best illustrates just how personal the Jacknjellify channel is to the Huang twins is this YouTube comment I discovered recently, from 9 years ago.

This comment is on the first remaining video on the AnimationEpic channel, which hosts the first-ever object show created after BFDI called “Inanimate Insanity”.

The video isn’t too important—just that a hacker deleted all of the oldest Inanimate Insanity videos from the channel. The comment isn’t too important either—just a reaction to how frustrating this must be for AnimationEpic.

But I want you to notice just how unremarkable this all seems. Nowadays, the standards must be a lot higher for something said by the official Jacknjellify channel. But back then, it was just another channel.

Cary has his own channel (carykh), and Michael has his own channel (fernozzle), but for them to to use this channel instead shows just how similar it once was to any of the others. Cary and Michael just wanted to talk to Adam Katz—it didn’t matter how.

So now that you understand how Jacknjellify really was their channel, you can understand how BFDI really was their show.

BFDI never had a good ending—the characters lost Dream Island. BFDIA never even had an ending. Only in BFB were they able to finally to put a close to this book. And it was beautiful.

You can see how it can be to Cary and Michael like fulfilling your dreams from when you first embarked on your journey.
