The think pieces I could write on how Falin’s first appearance as a chimera- with her elegantly settling down onto the ground while simultaneously crushing one of Kabru’s team members beneath him is metaphorical of the worship and image Marcille (as well as Laios) has of Falin no matter the circumstances.

It’s near biblical the way they perceive her under desperation to have her back. Obviously they both love and admire her but it’s so easy to see when Falin falls into being a little sister or silly friend to either of them when they’re safe and comfortable, but the way they truly see her is so real. She’s graceful, gentle, flawless in every moment. Hell even as she’s murdering people Marcille says that Falin is just confused. Kabru tells her that she doesn’t care how many people would die if it meant she got to save Falin and he’s right. All her sins are absolved under what she means to them.

To Marcille and Laios to even be near Falin is a grace unparalleled, to be in her presence and acknowledged by her is divinity and nothing else compares. They are elevated only by the privilege of loving her in the ways they do and the privilege of being able to protect her.

Anything less is a failure to the love she so generously, selflessly provides.

What I think is fun is that Beckman is significantly older than both Shanks and Mihawk and he doesn’t give a singular fuck about whatever titles they may hold he can, he will and he does lecture Mihawk, along with Shanks, about the stupid shit they get up to when they meet up put their extremely smart heads together and somehow produce a negative braincell.

And Mihawk, will just pout and take it, as he is denied dinner till he cleans up his mess. Because There’s just some battles you can’t win when a man has known you at 19.

This is the first time I've went and submitted works to anything since graduating college, so I lost a lot of confidence, but please wish me luck!

I think that the power scaling community would benefit from coming to terms with their own weakness. I know that you all think that in the One Piece world you would be Kid or Zoro or Milhawk but OOPS you would be Usopp. 100%. The craziness of the One Piece characters is born from their lived experiences within the universe, you wouldn’t be able to comprehend the correct physics in order to participate in a fight much less win.

Here’s what you would do…you’re best. You would fight scrappy and limited. You would get really good at using your environment and honestly running away most of the time.

Usopp isn’t weak, he’s realistic…he’s all of us. Once you come to terms with the idea that you would be Usopp, then we can talk about power in One Piece.

Everybody wins! Frieza gets his ass beat for an hour and Broly gets cute new friends who love him. Toei: But s- Tori: Go sit in the corner and think about your choices while I write this whole next movie about Piccolo and Pan. Toei: Piccolo and Pan?! Tori: Piccolo and Pan. And you know what else? Just to drive this point home? In this movie, Vegeta- Toei: ...You wouldn't. Tori: --Is finally going to beat Goku. Onscreen. In front of everybody. Thinking about how Zoro may have mixed and complicated feelings about Koushirou because on one hand that’s his sensei and he was taught to respect his sensei, but on the other hand he caused his own daughter, Zoro’s best friend, so much pain and constantly berated her to her face about how she’ll never be strong like the boys nor will she ever inherit the dojo. Like. Zoro cannot have one straight forward opinion on this man, he HAS to have some back and forth opinions on this guy I mean come on!

today i’m thinking yet again about that one time i was playing chess with a childhood friend and she told me if i let her win she would teach me how to make a magic potion. i was six, so this felt like a Reasonably Plausible Thing for her to know how to do, but she was also six, so of course she had no idea how to do it.

credit to that girl’s improv abilities, tho, bc she just started grabbing random things in the kitchen (onion skin, a single cheerio, large bottle of molasses) and i do not totally remember how it reached this point, but my mom, who had been out doing something or other, came into the kitchen to find two little girls just straight up pouring molasses down the sink.

VIVIDLY remember how my friend and i were just like 👁️👄👁️ in that way that small children are when there’s no thought in their head. i don’t think i even got in trouble for this simply bc the weirdness factor overruled the waste of molasses. it just had not occurred to my mother to tell me not to do this.

the thing about the queer media tournament that really gets me is that last i checked there wasn't a single mxtx work on it. like not even the untamed made it in and don't get me wrong the og mo dao zu shi books are huge but cql is def more popular among tumblr circles. idk it just really rubs me the wrong way how every single piece of western media that ppl have ever gotten a lil bit aggressive abt shipping with is there and then for east asian media there's utena and madoka magica and the handmaiden and last i checked that was pretty much it. and then for the rest of the world there's next to/nothing but idk enough to really make judgements there.
