“What's your problem, Kazansky?” Maverick’s words are clipped and for someone who had no powers, no ranks and no nothing, he took up too much space. He didn’t even have any kind of stature and yet somehow, saw eye to eye with Iceman. 

Tom doesn’t show because he’d be damned to but he almost swallows dryly, jaw tense and angry, frost building discreetly from his fingertips. He knew Slider was watching it, he knew his friend would notice. But as long as Maverick didn’t, he didn’t care. Not now, as they stood face to face. 

"You. You are everyone's problem. That's because every time you go out in the field, you're unsafe. I don't like you because you're dangerous. You’re a liability to all of us.”

His words are cruel, ice cold, one might say, as if the same ice he controlled had made its way into his heart, nestled there and there it lived without any mercy. But Maverick’s green eyes burn right back, unafraid of the winter storm that was Tom Kazansky.

“That’s right Iceman. (...) I am dangerous. You should be scared of me.”
