Top books of 2024

A few days and 2024 will officially end. I don't get it, because this whole year feels like I blinked in January and December appeared. Crazy.

This year I haven't read too many awesome books, most of them were only average. Nothing which I remember anyway, or some of them made me s frustrated. So I selected my top 5. That's honestly only number I was able to do. I've read 55+ books, so I hope next year I'll be more lucky with my selection.

The order is random, because I love those books with the same amount.

Highly suspicious and unfairly cute by Talia Hibbert

Talia Hibbert is certainty when I want to read adult romances. When I found out, she wrote YA I was curious and I wasn't disappointed at all. Enjoyed it so much. I just remember wanted to read and read until I finished it. The good thing about Talia's Hibbert books is it's not ordinary romance where they fall in love and that's it. Most of her novels I've read so far has characters with struggles which are for many people everyday reality.

2. Iron widow by Xiran Jay Zhao

Iron widow was surprise for me. I went to it with high expectations, but didn't expect to love it that much honestly. Let me tell you I support women's rights and wrongs. MC was on fire. Loved her so much. Don't blame her for her rage after everything she had to experience. I was cheering for her. Also, a little spoiler, but that poly relationship took me by surprise, but I loved every moment of it. I can't wait to pick up sequel next year!

3. Loveless by Alice Oseman

I'm exploring a little by little asexuality, because I feel like it can be what I am. This book was exactly what I needed at that time. So many moments I was seeing myself in. And the friendship in this book I totally adored!!

4. Villains are destined to die vol. 1+2

Super addictive. The illustrations are so pretty. The story pretty intriguing. Can't wait to read rest of volumes and find out how it ends.

5. Kudy kam s kapačkou by Josephine Mark

The last one is German comics translated in my native language (Czech). Unfortunately it hasn't been translated into English, which sucks, because it's such a beautiful story about wolf and rabbit. Rabbit accidentally saved the wolf and now he owes it to rabbit. So he decided to help him to survive the winter and help rabbit to take his medicine. Of course they're running from the hunter in the process. The illustrations is lovely as well!
