I want to confess how awful my taste in husbandos is. here is my top 10.

(I try to add only 1 of each anime in there to make it fair but there is one anime that has at least 2 chars in my top 10. I do like alot more chars from the respectiv show but this is just the ones I like the most within each show.)

Dark Imagination_ Part 1

A.N: Did I really just come up with a 10-part Genshin Impact Reverse Harem Vampire Husbando AU? Yep! But, I had to stop the count of husbandos somewhere, so I’m keeping it simple:

Zhongli, Alhaitham and Neuvillette are officially my top three husbandos, in that order.  So they will have the honor of being the main vampire coven we are following in this story.

Why did you even go into a haunted house in the first place? Where was your head? In all the years, you’ve been alive, you’ve never been to one. So what possessed you this time? 

Perhaps you would later call it fate. 

Fate, that made you buy tickets to a place, you knew you hated. 

Fate, that, made you wander the grounds of this usual amusement park turned horror show.  

And it was fate that made you go into a House of Mirrors.  

So, was it fate, that you got lost in said the House of Mirrors? 

The light that shined from somewhere was the last straw as you panic and tried to get out of the House of Mirrors. You ran until, you suddenly found yourself falling…. 

And falling… 

When you woke up…. 

You woke up in a gothic room, in a king-sized bed, with sheets of black and red satin. At first, you breathed. Perhaps you had been sent to an infirmary or something. It certainly looked like it could be part of the haunted fairgrounds. But you were tired of this and wanted to leave now. You should have never come in the first place.  

A smooth voice floated into the room, “You’re finally awake, my dear one?” 

You had only blinked and suddenly three males were surrounding you. One minute they weren’t there and the next they were. 

You lost your voice, shocked at their sudden entrance. What kind of magic was this? You weren’t being facetious, either, they literally appeared next to you in a blink of an eye. You were sure of it! But that wasn’t possible? 

Was it?

“Dear one?” the amber eyed one’s eyebrows drew together in concern. He was the one that first spoke, sitting to your right. He was dressed in brown and gold, with long brown locks that were tied back.  

Your eyes trailed to your left.  This one had long white hair tied back in ribbon with lavender eyes, dressed in white and blue. He was looking at you in concern as well. And directly in front of you was a gray-haired man with green tint in his hair, dressed in dark green with many embellishments. You could not see his eyes, as he had his gaze was buried in the book in front of him. 

Finally, you found your voice, shrinking back from these ethereal looking men. There was no denying it. They weren’t just handsome, all three process an otherworldly beauty. 

“Who-who are you? Cosplayers?” you asked. You wanted it to be just model men in makeup but something in your soul, warned you that there was more to this than a stellar makeup job. 

“Cos. Players?” the lavender eyed man spoke slowly, “In all my ears I had never heard of such a term. Zhongli?” 

Zhongli hummed in thought, “Neither have I. Alhaitham, have you heard of this in your readings?”

The one reading the book, shook his head but did not look up, “It sounds frivolous already. If it has nothing to do with facts, then I too am unaware of this term.” 

“It just means to dress up as a character. Costume play.” Why you offered an explanation, you did not know. But it was strange that these ethereal looking mean were discussing this as if it was that worthy of note. If they were cosplaying, they were remarkably in role. 

But in your mind, that was not the issue here. 

Who exactly were they? 

“Then no, we are not costume playing.” The one with lavender eyes spoke, turning back to you, “Please allow us to introduce ourselves. My name is Neuvillette. This is Zhongli, he is the oldest among our coven. Alhaitham there is the youngest out of the three of us.” 

“...Coven? Did you say coven? What kind of coven?” you whispered, eyes going wide. 

What exactly did you get yourself dropped into? Or more to the point, why were we starting out with a dark fantasy genre? You didn’t mind reading it, but you didn’t want to wake up in one! 

“Please do not be frightened of us, my dear one.” Zhongli murmured, reaching out to gently grasp your hand, “We would never hurt you. We are incapable of such a thing. But we are vampires.” 

Despite the warmth of his hand, despite the glove, you snatched it away, “You lie. Vampires aren’t real.” 

The book shut suddenly seemingly loud in the room making you snap your head up. Alhaitham turned to look at you for the first time, “Perhaps not in your world. But you are no longer in your world.” 

“What?” 

Neuvillette heaved a sigh, “Even after all these years, you have yet to learn to be a bit less direct, Alhaitham.” 

“Did I say something untrue?” 

“No, but there is a time and place for every word to be spoken. Not to mention how they are spoken. Miss. Y/N….” 

You gasped, “How did you know my name?” 

“We’ve search long for you. The three of us were brought together because we knew that we would share the same Blood Mistress.” 

“Blood…Mistress…?” you echoed slowly. 

“Hm, vampires in this world are usually brought together in a coven by the one whose blood calls to them. Humans that have special blood are designated as Blood Masters or Mistresses.”

You protested, “My blood isn’t special.” 

Zhongli gave a gentle smile, “I assure you, it is. Even now, you smell positively divine.” 

You stared at him before ducking your head. What did he just say, and out loud without a stutter at that? 

Neuvillette gave a sigh and glared at Zhongli while Alhaitham rolled his eyes. 

Zhongli took the hint, “Ahh, forgive me, Mistress. It seems I lost my composure and said something I shouldn’t have. Especially not when we are trying to get to know each other. I should have had more restraint than that. I apologize.” 

Alhaitham sighed, “As the oldest, shouldn’t you be putting forth a better example?” 

“Indeed I should.” Zhongli spoke,  “I apologize, to the both of you as well.” 

“It’s past….”, Neuvillette dismissed, “Miss. Y/N, the three of us, have been in an….predicament that is unusual in this world. You see, we knew that we could sense your blood and that you had a bond with us, but we came to a realization after searching for years in every corner of this world; combing this world ten times over only to feel as though we were passing right by you that….” 

“....that you didn’t exist in this world. You existed in a world beyond.” Alhaitham finished. 

“That’s unusual?” you asked. 

Neuvillette continued, “Hm, very much so. To be able to sense your presence but unable to reach you. So, we had a transaction with a coven of powerful witches, and they were able to bring you to us. Forgive us, for using such dire means, but we had no other way.” 

You thought on this a moment, then asked the obvious, “Can…can I go back home?” 

You notice the three exchanging glances. Was their pain in their eyes? No, why should there be? It was only natural you’d want to go home. You didn’t know these men. In fact, they could be lunatics. 

Vampires, Blood Mistresses and different worlds? 

Did they hear themselves? If only you were reading this, cozied up in your home, you would be quite a bit more appreciative. 

Finally, Zhongli answered, “If….if you wish it, that can be arranged. However, it will about a month from now when the full moon comes again. Then, the witches can send you….back…home….” 

There was an awkward lull. 

Even you could see that it took every effort for him to say those words. A quick glance and you realized that all three were looking away from you. 

“A month…? I see….” 

You weren’t sure what to make of this, to be honest.

Studio Ghibli Watch-Through pt 6

Alright, this one is gonna have one hell of a hill in terms of scores, lol

16. Howl's Moving Castle (2004)

9.5/10

It's hard to not hum the main theme while watching this movie or even days afterwards. It's a beautiful movie and it's easy to see why so many ppl put Howl and the other characters on top lists when discussing waifu/husbando/best characters.

17. Tales from Earthsea (2006)

4/10

People weren't kidding when they said this was the worst Ghibli film. I guess it's cause I've watched a lot of MST3K and so I was able to entertain myself and I can see how it could've been better but as it is now, at least in the dub version, the characters are flat, talk way too low a lot of the times and the story doesn't really go anywhere that makes sense in the end. Maybe if this was a mini-series it'd have the time to develop the characters/settings but as it is it's a boring mess.

18. Ponyo (2008)

8/10

A very sweet and kid-friendly retelling of the little mermaid. It made me rewatch "Lu Over the Wall" after it. We're all jealous of Ponyo's dad Fujimoto, right? I mean, the dude got with Granmamare, the huge goddess of the sea...how? Dude must've had Greg Universe charisma stats, lol

Alrighty, next time it's "The Secret World of Arreity", "From Up on Poppy Hill", and "The Wind Rises."

MC acts...different in their demon form

Surprise surprise, MC has their own personality and doesn't necessarily act like the brothers when they take on their demon forms. Sins manifest themselves in many different ways so who's to say MC is the same way as the brothers? To make it a little interesting, here's an MC who's avatar demon forms differ VERY much from the actual Avatars of Sin.

My MC got pissed off after a battle, smoked the devil's lettuce(haha funny) and found ✨THE✨ coping skill

Clever and cunning as ever, this MC is definitely terrifying but most of the time just lacks the will to cause chaos

More often than not, someone has walked in on MC and Solomon just bullshitting with each other and dying of laughter when they were "supposed to meet at the arena 10 minutes ago honestly you should know be-"🙄

No fucks to give because if you lecture the embodiment of wrath for too long...well....👀

When Satan first saw MC lose it in his demon form he was embarrassed of them until he got his head out of his ass and realized "oh shit that me" and offered some of his coping skills for when the anger takes over🥺

This one's just a call out to everyone reading this including you and especially me for writing it

Don't get me wrong, this MC is a force to be reckoned with

Asmo's charm spell on top of the agility and strength it takes to swing around with chain swords is absolutely terrifying

This MC is definitely a glutton but not necessarily to food like Beel is (sex, substances, sleep, games, whatever)

Probably the most similar to their avatar counterpart compared to the rest of the brothers

Imagine having the ability to rain down a storm of hellfire and just not doing it because it's nap time (oh to be that unbothered✋)

MC does still have a few issues controlling their temper when the gluttony gets the better of them

If MC is in a demon form, Beel's might be one of the scariest, but it's definitely the most chill besides its appearance

Infuriated Sloth

In MC's defense, I would also be constantly enraged if I was always tired and forced to do hardcore anime training

Feral attic gremlin energy all over again, definitely takes some sort of stimulant to stay awake and smokes to unwind

The bad attitude mixed with the stimulants is giving nightbringer Satan on crack

Does the literal bare minimum simply because their weapon does most of the work

Not scary from looks alone but a pissed off MC using their Sloth form is deadly

If MC and Belphie were on bad terms before he worships the ground they walk on now (out of fear😈)

Queer Itch.io VN List

So IDK when I'll be able to post art again so here's another bit of content. Queer visual novels from itch.io. Not all of these are itch exclusive so you steam only? Feel free to check. Oh these will be 18+. Four things going in; 1.) Not all of these are finished. I'll be breaking it up between finished and unfinished.

2.) A lot of them are furry because the furry VN and queer VN venn diagram is a pair of nested circles.

3.) Spoilers, will be light but they will exists.

4.) Mostly MLM because that's the place I tend to live.

Coming Out On Top: 5/10

Starting with Coming Out on Top because it's the most average of the list and the quinessential baby gay VN. It's cute, fun, funny, sexy and has the depth of a brook at best. Light fun but has a couple of issues one with stereotypes, the other with power dynamics it adamantly doesn't want to think about because sexy.

Nekojishi: 6/10

Nekojishi is a bit more interesting than Coming Out on Top. Has more depth by and large but is also more fun than deep. Cute characters and while I cannot speak to cultural fidelity the husbandos are all in front of an interesting situational backdrop.

Full Service: 5/10

Similar to COoT, hot guys, sexy CGs, fun and silly moments with big personalities for the husbandos. But doesn't really explore the conflict beyond having something to spice up the romance, tempted to dock points for an infuriating mascot character.

Human Cargo: 6/10

Has a bit more going on between the ears than the baseline but the plot is still more a vehicle for the husbandos. Hot CGs, very cute, a good bit of soft moments and the romance feels at least a bit like an earned climax to the relationship.

In Case of Emergency: 8/10

So this is where we've broken the 'plot as car for husbandos' glass cieling. This is one that definitely has something more going on than date hotties. I dock a little bit of points for it being a bit hard to parse towards the end as to how interactions gets a good ending. BUT gets points for it being the start of the relationship. It feels like the MC matters to the route but not like he 'fixes' their problems. They're all on the road to a better place. Be warned a bittersweet game.

Adastra: 9/10

So I did play Echo first which makes me a bit of an oddity apparently. I think that was a part of the reason the emotions of Adastra didn't hit me quite as hard. Like I was expecting the other shoe to drop. Also since I was waiting for that I also spent much of the early game frustrated by 'Marco's' choices. That said Amicus is everything the Echo fandom wishes Leo was.

Arches: 8/10

Arches is going here before Echo for a reason despite being a nominal sequel, but also... I have so many mixed feelings here. It's an objectively good story, it makes me feel things. It's also REALLY depressing and I feel genuinely conflicted about if it's a very good or very bad representation of schizophrenia.

Echo: 10/10

Yeah I know it's the bloody posterchild for the subversive dating sim, it's also why the spoiler tag exists. Because Echo sets up as a dating sim meant to evoke nostalgia and then devolves into a psychological horror on the level of one of the classic Silent Hill games. Also Leo is the Ur-Furry Thirst Trap and the fandom shows just how terrifyingly effective he is at it. Horror and tragedy in equal measure. And at the end so I can start the unfinished list with it's prequel...

UNFINISHED: There are enough here that are so solid despite still being updated that I needed to keep the list separate. They would get points docked for not being one but I didn't want that to reflect on how evocative they are.

The Smoke Room: 10/10

The prequel and chronologically first game in the Echo Trilogy. Set one hundred years before Echo shortly before the 1915 hysteria and following Sam, a sex worker at the local Saloon. It's charming, unnerving, tragic (especially given Echo ESPECIALLY WILLIAM'S route if you know you know.) All the husbandos and side characters are delightful and charming in their own ways.

Errant Kingdom: 6/10

I would award it a higher score but between being bought, unfinished, and having been slow to update I'm worried it's a dying project. I am more sympathetic to the slow updates because every chapter is functionally three chapters as each origin point is a genuinely different story even when they are at a converging point such as the speech, or merchant's party. The art is beautiful and the characters are fun and interesting. I truly hope it's still in development.

Andromeda Six: 7/10

Also in development hell but getting slightly more updates and has a valentines day side story that is complete. Sci-fi story about an amnesiac with a crew of mercs on the wrong side of a successful coup. There's twists and turns some obvious some much less so that make it engaging. Fun romance options for straight mlm and wlw.

Repeat: 9/10

Repeat OOZES charm, it's fun, has a shockingly fun core of mystery hilarious and engaging characters. Fun and sexy CGs. And a lot of heart that makes the tragic lows hit just that much harder.

Santa Lucia: 8/10

Fun with an Echo-esque mystery and horror subplot. Engaging and been following it for a while. That said I do dock a little points for the routes not intersecting with the main plot as well as Echo which inextricably links the two. Still overall a very good time.

Socially Awkward: 9/10

Hilarious and also incredibly charming, bonus points for all the characters being incredibly similar to actual people I know. It makes the whole friend group cast likeable and realistic. Even the trash goblins like John.

Soulcreek: 9/10

Interesting, intense, one of my favorite genres, good art, but has some frustrating moments early game similarly to Adastra. Ultimately not enough to really drag it and the mystery and setting is MORE than enough to keep you clicking.

Dawn Chorus: 10/10

Okay so this one's a bit of a cheat for me. It's only a 10/10 because it's my comfort VN. Dawn Chorus is like a warm bowl of soup or cup of tea on a cold rainy day. It's cute, sweet, and character driven with an undercurrent of tragedy for many of the characters that makes you hope for the best.

Shelter: 10/10

Remember how I said Soulcreek's my facorite genre? Well so is Shelter. Fantasy that's secretly a Post Apocalyptic sci-fi. It's got mystery, uses the Visual Novel format in unique and amazing ways. Also puns, SO FUCKING MANY PUNS. The world building Raus does here drove me to dip my toes into the setting with a fic it was that inspiring.

Husbando of the day goes to Vash the Stampede from Trigun!

I recently got back into Trigun, (the original, not the remakes) and I’ve really been enjoying it. I loved Vash a long time ago, like when I first saw it on tv, and rewatching it made me fall even more in love with him.

Vash is perfect in every way. He loves and cares about all of the people around him, even when they want to kill and catch him for the bounty. He does everything in his power to help and save everyone he can.

My heart breaks seeing how scarred and hurt his body is, and how much his heart aches and hurts for Rem and the innocent people lost so long ago. To live with all of that…to face it all alone…it must’ve hurt him for so long…

Vash’s kind and loving heart, his strength and abilities, and wonderful personality landed him in my top 10 Husbandos. He truly is 10/10 <3

I do, but often at a delay. First, I don't have notifications on on most sites, including ao3. So I have to log into the site to see comments in my inbox. Second, I sometimes don't know what to say. I'm not good with compliments. But I want people to know that they are appreciated.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Oh, I'd say Bound Forever, another Ikemen Prince fic I have with Gilbert, Roderic, and AFAB!Reader that touches on a lot of spoilers from his route. I wanted people to cry with it. I'm also working on a dark fic that should have a very angsty ending, but it's still a wip.

What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Hmm. I write a lot of smut, which doesn't really have "happy" endings, just fucking and satisfaction. Most of the fluff I write isn't really finished. I guess the long fic The Royal Lion would have a happy ending. But I would consider To Be Understood to be more meaningful.

Do you write crossovers?

Nope. I have too many ideas to want to cross into crossovers.

Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I guess so? I mean, I've had people leave comments talking about not liking characters or things that happen and kind of venting about it, but they like the writing? So I find it hard to take it personally when I'm not the characters, and I'm the author. See what I mean?

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I don't really understand this question. There are different kinds of smut? The previous poster said, "Alongside complex, layered issues and thought provoking emotions." But like... does that mean all their smut is emotional and has plot? I'm not ragging on them, I just really don't understand the question. I write porn without plot. I write porn with feelings. I write smut amidst drama, such as both my long fics. I write quick ideas of lovers just fucking. I just write smut. 500 words to 25,000 words, it doesn't matter to me. Yes, Banging Birthday is all smut and 23,500 words.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Probably not. I wouldn't even know it if it happened. Haha.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

Probably not. No one has asked, and again, I wouldn't even know it if it happened.

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I honestly didn't know this was a thing. I've been inspired by others, or talked about an idea and had someone feed into it. But neither of those are co-written.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Please. Anything Gilbert von Obsidian. Pair him with everyone. I will never turn down a Gilbert fic. That's what happens when he hits top husbando.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

I don't think like this. If it's a WIP, then I will finish it. If I don't think I will finish it, then it's not a WIP any more. I publish what I have, or toss it, because there won't be more to it, so I'm clearly not working on it.

What are your writing strengths?

Uhhhh..... I guess I nail down personalities pretty well? I have a way of showcasing the things I love about characters, usually making them more likeable to others. I don't tend to have writers block and can pound out several thousand words a day if my health is holding up. I've been told my pacing is really good.

What are your writing weaknesses?

Hmm. My writing process. I have to go from beginning to end. I've been working on trying out scenes without explaining anything, just getting right into the thick of things. I'm a pantser, so often my fic ideas go off the rails. I just let it take me where it goes. I can't tell you where something will end up, because I never know. And my characters change up my ideas several times.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

I can't do that because I don't know another language well enough. I think it's neat when people sprinkle in certain words or phrases.

What’s a fandom/ship you haven’t written for yet but want to?

Ikemen Sengoku and my idea of a trans man Kenshin. Anything Ikemen Villians, I haven't gotten around to it yet with all my focus mainly being on Ikemen Prince.

What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

Oh gosh. I think - because I'm still new to fanfic writing (7/2023) - I don't have enough experience to say anything is a favorite. I try out different ideas to see what I enjoy writing the most. Some of it works out, some doesn't, but I don't dislike those attempts. I like everything I've ever posted. I just like writing.

I wasn't going to make or post one myself at first. (Despite having made this, I'm kind of not really into the tiermaker thing? I have issues with like "top 10" lists and other arbitrary rankings because I just feel like I don't have enough of a real criteria or where to start.) But it seemed in poor taste to invite people to show off their bad taste in waifus and not offer up my own vulnerability. So go ahead, judge my taste

Doing this just reminds me why I actually really appreciate things like dragonflycave's crazy huge pokemon sorter that just feeds to either-or/greater than/equal to prompts until it works out its own mathematical score, instead of making me drag that shit around manually. (The Pokemon fav. character sorter here on tubmlr too)

Clearly, what I really need is to invent some kind of needlessly complex 3 dimensional tagging, scoring and charting system that determines proximities and shared borders and relative positioning for you and then lets you zoom around them in VR like it's a fucking star wars galaxy map

I hate that now that I actually finished this dumb thing, I've still got the itch to fuck around with clippings, and it's making me considering making a husbando one, even though I specifically said I wouldn't......

Also silly question, but am I the only person who gets like seemingly disproportionately hung up on bad anime hair? Hime cuts and blunt bangs are just a hard demerit for me for some reason... Dark Imagination_ Part 2

A.N: Did I really just come up with a 10-part Genshin Impact Reverse Harem Vampire Husbando AU? Yep! But, I had to stop the count of husbandos somewhere, so I’m keeping it simple:

Zhongli, Alhaitham and Neuvillette are officially my top three husbandos, in that order.  So they will have the honor of being the main vampire coven we are following in this story.

It had been three days since you had arrived to this world. Although the sun rose and set like your world, you found yourself sleeping in and rising late to stay up into the night. It was hard for you to stay up all night, and none of them pushed it. Secretly, they were happy that you hadn't actively run away from them. 

Well, you thought about it. 

But what was that saying, better to deal with the devil here than whatever devil might await you out there? 

But you realized quickly that none of them attempted to harm you. Neuvillette and Zhongli went out of their way to chat with you, hoping that it would put you at ease. You barely saw or exchanged words with Alhaitham. Or rather, he made no move to speak to you any more than the day you came to this world. 

Such an evening found you, blowing your cup of tea in the tearoom, allowing the silence to be your companion. You were used to silence, after all. You turned the page in the book you found from their library. Once they gave you a tour, and you discovered it, you had been hooked. 

“Did you find something to your liking, once again, my dear?” 

You looked up to see Zhongli walking quietly into the kitchen.  

It was weird, none of them walked with audible footsteps, but they did have reflections in the mirror. Alhaitham had only snorted at this, “I’ve read what humans make vampires out to be. Yes, we have reflections, no garlic and crosses aren’t harmful to us. The only true thing is that we don’t like the sun, but we can manage that if we aren’t mortally wounded. And a vampire can be killed by destroying his heart.” 

It was nice to know that the legends of vampires were largely the same in both worlds, even though reality was different here.

“What are you reading now?” Zhongli asked with a small smile, as he took a seat next to you and began to pour his own cup of tea. 

“I kind of got capture after page one.” said by way of excuse to the story you were reading as you held the page with one finger and flipped to the cover of the book. 

Zhongli chuckled, picking up the cup and blowing on it, “If it pleases you.” 

You ducked your head at his words before peeking up at him. You had always loved tea and was astounded of the different types of tea that were available here. Many you were certain didn’t exist in your world. 

And you had no idea why, but watching Zhongli make and drink tea was like watching art. Even the simple act of him enjoying tea, captured your gaze. Over the last few days, you had spent time with Zhongli as he made his tea. One of which took six hours!! But you found you quite enjoyed the time spent with him. 

You looked back at your teacup before taking a sip. Then you went to pick up the teapot to pour yourself another when a gloved hand, folded over yours. You looked up with eyes wide. 

“Allow me…” 

You pulled your hand back, allowing Zhongli to pick up the teapot to pour you another cup. 

Not one drop splashed. 

You swallowed as your head dipped once again. A soft touch on your cheek, had you looking back up. His knuckles lightly touched your cheek as he frowned, “Did you get enough to eat today?” 

“Yeah, there was enough.” you murmured.

“That’s good. Then you are well?” 

You nodded, “Just fine.” 

You saw Zhongli’s amber eyes flash once as his touch ghosted down your cheek to your neck. You shivered as it went further, trailing down your arm, until he lightly grasped your wrist.  You should have pulled back, but for some reason you didn’t, quite enraptured by this new development. He gently pulled your wrist towards him, as his amber eyes glanced down at it. Then his thumb was gently running over your pulse. 

What would you have done if you knew he could hear your pulse the moment he entered the door? At that moment, you didn’t know that all three of them could hear the ebb and flow of your heartbeat even as they went to ground. Even as they sleep, the blood in your veins was their lullaby. It had never been as loud or as clear as now, since you were pulled into their world. You didn’t know that all three had planned to make you want for nothing, to entice you to stay in their world of your own freewill. 

Would they even let you go back? 

This was not something that any of them were willing to face right now. 

You gazed up at Zhongli, as his lips parted, allowing you to see the fangs that poked from them. 

Somewhere in you, you were aware you should stop this. What kind of storybook did you get dropped into? Did you even want to continue this dark story? Exactly what awaited at the end? 

Then Zhongli’s lips ghosted over your pulse making your heart skip a beat until his tongue darted out, swirling over the pulse of your wrist, once. Twice. 

Your breath hitched and your heart stuttered. 

“Zhongli….” 

You snapped your head up and snatched your wrist back to find Neuvillette standing in front of you, two across from the table. You were thankful for the interruption as you blinked. What would have happened if Neuvillette hadn’t come? You scanned around and sure enough, Alhaitham sat, in the furthest chair with his gaze in a book. His gaze briefly shot to you before moving back to his book. If you hadn’t been looking, you would have missed it. 

“Xiao, escort your Lord to get himself together.” Neuvillette commanded. 

Xiao appeared in the room and bowed, “Yes, sir.” 

Zhongli seemed to snapped to himself and looked apologetic, “F-f-forgive me…” 

Neuvillette interrupted, “Save it for later. Just get out now.” 

Zhongli snapped his gaze up to Neuvillette and bared his fangs, “Who do you think you are talking to?” 

You froze, ducking your head into your teacup that you had gripped. 

Neuvillette only gazed down at him, unimpressed. 

Xiao intervened, “My lord Rex Lapis, please. Think of your Blood Mistress. We needn't frighten her. That is all Monsieur Neuvillette meant.” 

That seemed to calm him down and Zhongli stood with a sigh, “Yes, you are…correct.”

Without a backwards glance to you, Zhongli exited, followed by Xiao. 

Neuvillette finally turned his gaze to you, “Are you alright, Miss. Y/N?” 

“Ahh, I’m fine.” 

Alhaitham flipped a page, “Your heart rate is through the roof. Breathe…” 

“You have nothing to fear. Forgive me for not arriving earlier.” Neuvillette sketched a bow, “And I’ll apologize for Rex Lapis. He is ancient and has been without his Blood Mistress for a long time now. Even longer than Alhaitham or I. He usually has rigorous discipline to be admired, but now that you are here, his control is taut. I do not say this as an excuse for him, merely to explain. But even I admit you are quite a temptation. Ah, perhaps it would be wise for me to keep this quiet right now, lest I cause you to misunderstand. Oh, dear, am I rambling?”  

You looked taken aback by his words, even as Alhaitham snorted, but Neuvillette lavender eyes continued to rest on you as he added, “...But even still, he as we all should exercise caution. Again, I make our apologizes.” 

You shook your head, with a small smile, “It’s fine. I understand.” 

“Thank you for your grace.”
