maybee u could please do one where reader begs rafe for a darry ring, like the $500 ones u can only buy once in ur life and u have to submit ur id to buy it.. i want to know what ur thought process on how rafe would go about it? 🫣🫣🫣
promise sealed — RAFE CAMERON
authors note I don't think you guys realize how much it means to me when you compliment my writing. I hope you enjoy this request lovie.
summary rafe buys you a darry ring showing his love and devotion to your relationship.
warnings none
Rafe Cameron was not used to hearing "no." In his universe, money and power could sway any circumstance to his liking. So, when you casually mentioned a Darry Ring—an unique sign of eternal love that could only be acquired once in a lifetime—he became fascinated.
You were seated on the patio of Tanny Hill with Rafe to your right, his arm over your shoulder, watching the sunset from afar. The summer wind on your skin and the birds chirping made the moment feel especially pleasant.
"Baby have you heard of a Darry Ring before?" You blurt out, playing with Rafe's gold ring.
"I've heard about those rings," Rafe replied, and raising an eyebrow at you. "Why do you want one so badly?" He was curious and wanted to know more.
You took a deep breath, knowing that you needed to express your feelings clearly. "This isn't just any ring, Rafe. This is a promise. They only allow you to buy one in your entire life, and you must submit your ID to confirm it. It signifies that the person wearing it is the only one for you. Forever."
"Forever, huh?" he wondered, more to himself than you. His fingers tapped against the armrest, and you could see the wheels churning in his head.
You nodded, thinking he understood how much this meant to you. "Yes, forever." It's not about money, Rafe. "It's about the promise."
Rafe loves you more than anything in this world. You're his everything. He would do anything for you, literally. One thing he fears the most is losing you and breaking the promise of never hurting you.
Everyone sees how in-love you are with each other. The way you look at each other is like you two are the only people in the room. The moment you got together, friends started talking about your wedding day.
But as he saw the openness in your eyes, he felt something shift. You weren't asking for financial things; you were asking for a pledge, a piece of his heart.
As the rest of the night went on, the conversation about the ring stayed in Rafe's mind.
Over the next four days, Rafe found himself continuously thinking about the Darry Ring. Constantly on his mind going back and forth. One thing Rafe doesn't want to do is buy this ring for you then could do something that may hurt you; never in his life does he want to hurt you.
You asked him about the ring one of the days you were hanging out. He told you he was looking into it but never gave you a final answer.
He did research, learning about the company's ideology and the importance of the ring. He even read comments from other couples who had purchased the ring, and each story touched a deep part of him. He wanted this to be perfect.
Once Rafe came the finalization about the ring he started to search for the perfect one for you. Luckily for him, he's been saving up money for special things like this.
Rafe spoke with his sister, Sarah, about the concept of getting you the ring. She was quite excited about the ring. She assisted him with the design because you two hang out occasionally.
Rafe accepted that this wasn't only about you; it was also about him. It was about his willingness to venture into the unknown and truly commit to someone he loved. The Darry Ring's exclusivity was both scary and thrilling. It meant he'd always put you first.
A few days ago the ring was ready to be picked up on the mainland. He was so excited and nervous to see how the ring turned out; made sure it was perfect.
He decided on a simple yet intimate setting. He took you to your favorite spot by the beach, where the two of you had shared countless memories.
You were sitting on a blanket with food you ordered from a restaurant down the road. The waves hitting shore filled your ears. People talking amongst themselves, kids running on shore, etc.
"The sunset looks beautiful tonight, don't you think?" Your gaze is drawn to the sunset in front of you, with the waves gently touching the shore.
"Not as beautiful as you" Rafe replies, kissing your cheek while reaching in his back pocket for the Darry Ring.
You could feel his heart racing thousands miles per hour with your back pressed against his chest. Frowning with concern before he spoke up again.
"I've been thinking a lot about what you said," he began, pulling out the small, elegant box from his pocket. "About promises and forever."
He actually got it.
Your eyes widened when you realized what was going on. Tears started to form in the corner of your eyes. Getting chocked up by the moment. Searching for the right words to say.
Rafe opened the box to discover the stunning Darry Ring inside. "This ring represents something to both of us. It's a vow that you're the only one for me, and I'm willing to commit to you for the rest of my life."
Tears slowly fall down your face; carefully wiping them off your face. Now your heart is beating thousand miles per-hour. Your entire body is on cloud nine.
“Wh-a-t did I get to deserve someone like you Rafe?” You cry, lifting your shaky left hand, allowing Rafe to slide the ring on your finger.
"I love you so much, sweetie. You mean the world to me. Our love is stronger than any other." You cut Rafe off by pulling him in for a long kiss, your arms gradually tightening around his neck and his hands grabbing you around the waist.
It was the perfect moment that you'll cherish for the rest of your life. You couldn't take your eyes off the ring, admiring its beauty for the rest of the night.

A/N: Yeah, I'm obsessed with Masters of the Air. I had to write something for my mans before the creative procrastination literally killed me. Please leave a like, comment, or even a reblog if you're so inclined :)
You can read my OC version of this story on AO3!
Songs Mentioned in This Fic:
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by The Andrews Sisters
G.I. Jive by Johnny Mercer
The Ole Therebefore (Accapella) by Rachel Zegler
Disclaimer: I own nothing. This story and any recognizably named characters are based solely on dramatic portrayals of the characters from the series, not the real individuals they represent. All the respect to the actual service people who fought and died in the Second World War. Also, don't copy my writing without explicit permission. That includes you, you AI sonuvabitch.
Your heels clicked on the cobblestone streets, turning into the pub you’d heard so much about. You were out celebrating a very rare weekend off. The Brass had somehow allowed you and twenty other mechanics from base two days leave, so you took advantage of the opportunity and headed straight to London.
Your two best girlfriends from base were with you. Teresa was one of the toughest nurses you’d ever come across. She could give you a wide grin, crinkles around her hazel eyes, and reset a broken bone without breaking a sweat. It helps that she was already working towards becoming a nurse back in New Mexico, the war just sped along that process. You had bonded over your love of books, giving each other recommendations almost weekly.
You’d met Irene on the boat to England. She puked on your shoes almost thirty minutes exactly after leaving the port in New York. You gave a small grin, offering her a handkerchief and a piece of ginger candy and the rest was history. Finding out that she was a fellow mechanic was the icing on the cake. Coming in at a whopping five foot two, the spritely blonde could easily be found in a crowd with her loud Appalachian accent.
It seemed almost like fate for the three of you to have found each other. Being some of the few women on base naturally made you close, but you were closer with Irene and Teresa than any of the others. That’s not to say that you weren’t friends with any of the men, because you were. Friendly.
All three of you were dressed to the nines, in contradiction to your everyday work wear. You all got ready together in your hotel room, giggling while you applied makeup here, spritzed some perfume there. You all felt confident and were ready to have a good time. You spotted some familiar faces and made your way over towards them, your friends linked arm-in-arm with you. Lemmons was the first to greet you.
Of the fifty men on the ground crew, Sgt. Ken Lemmons was the most welcoming of them all. From the get-go, he didn’t care if you were a man or woman. He just wanted to know that you were capable. You were sure he had to go through some hazing because of his age, which probably changed his perspective on gatekeeping the job. This made earning and maintaining respect a lot easier for the women on your crew. We all came over with the same goal, it was better for all if we just helped each other out.
“Hey Birdie! Nice to see you out and about.”
Ah, the famed nickname. You tend to hum and sing under your breath when elbow-deep in a project. It helps you pass the time and clear your mind. Of course, the rest of the ground crew quickly caught on to this habit of yours, which quickly earned you the nickname “Birdie”. You, of course, never sing solo in public, so this confuses anyone who’s not around you while you’re working. But the name stuck, so here you are. Birdie.
Chairs are quickly cleared for you and your friends, which you all graciously take. You go up to buy some drinks, knowing what your friends like, and quickly return with your drinks of choice. Conversation flows, laughs are shared, and a few drinking games are played over the next hours. Teresa soon speaks up on a topic you’d been hoping to avoid.
“Do you think he’ll be here tonight?”
You shrug and look into your drink, “Dunno. Why does it matter?”
Irene, the ever supportive best friend that she is, backs up Teresa. “What do you mean ‘why’? This is your chance to finally make a move!”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” You quickly deny, taking another sip.
An unladylike snort leaves Irene, “My ass! You and Major Egan have been making googly eyes at each other when you think the other’s not looking for months. I’m saying it’s time for you to perk your tits up, buck on over and ride that—!” You slam your drink on the table, pressing your hand over Irene’s mouth, heat rising to your cheeks in embarrassment.
“Are you insane?” You whisper harshly, looking around to make sure no one overheard you. You seem to be in the clear, which makes you calm down a bit. Irene pushes off your hand, takes a swig of her drink, and consults the person who started this whole conversation.
“Am I wrong?” You look to Teresa, who cringes slightly in agreement.
You gape at the pair of them. Normally, you were the median between the two girls who had vastly differing opinions. But this is what made them come to a consensus? Unbelievable.
“Look, I’m not saying that I don’t want to.” You start, which makes your friends nod encouragingly at you. “It’s just that… Is he really as interested as you think he is?”
They both groan and slump against each other, like they’d just run a marathon. Teresa sits up, scooching your chair in closer so that the three of you were in a private triangle, cut off from the rest of the group.
“Let’s look at the facts here, okay?” Teresa starts to tick off a finger with each point she and Irene make. But you seem to always have a rebuttal at the ready.
“He brings you coffee every morning.”
“I thought he does that for everyone.”
“He constantly fixes his hair when you’re around.”
“He takes care of his appearance!”
“He walks you to the mess hall every day for dinner.”
“We just happen to be going the same way. And we happen to have the same dinner schedule.”
“He read The Hobbit when you said how much you loved it.”
“He’s an adventurous guy, it’s an adventurous book, what’s not to like about it?”
“You two literally will walk and talk outside alone for hours.”
“A man can’t have a stimulating conversation with a woman?”
“He laughs at all your dumb jokes.”
“Hey! They’re not all dumb. Like, the one with the goose and the—”
“Point proven. Anyways! He has your picture in the inside pocket of his jacket.”
That one stops you in your tracks. You brain tries to justify this meaning but comes up blank.
“He…” You struggle with an excuse. “He…” Your best friends give victorious smirks in your direction.
“He… likes the extra padding in his jacket?” You stutter over what is possibly the most pathetic, sorry excuse you could have ever come up with.
“When are you gonna admit to yourself that he likes you? Like, actually truly likes you?”
You gave a sad sigh, letting the insecurity you were feeling deep down come to the surface. “I just… He’s just so…” You had stomped down your feelings for so long that it was becoming hard to articulate what exactly you’re feeling.
“He just seems so unreal. Like, of everyone he could have chosen, why me? I mean, I know I’m great. But you’ve seen the other girls on base. They’re all so beautiful, smart, classy… and none of them are covered in engine oil ninety percent of the time.” You looked down at your hands, specks of grease and oil peeking out from beneath your nail beds. It seems like it would never completely wash out, no matter how hard you scrubbed. You hadn’t even painted your nails for this weekend, knowing it would be money wasted come Monday morning when you’re back on the clock.
Teresa and Irene share a look that you don’t see, then come forward and grab each of your hands.
“The words you just used to describe those girls. All of that is you, Birdie. That and more. You being a mechanic doesn’t make you any less of a woman, and to hell with anyone else who thinks otherwise.” You nodded in agreement, Irene’s words of encouragement slowly washing away your anxieties.
Teresa spoke up next, “You deserve someone who will rearrange the stars and the whole night sky for you. And I’m more than willing to bet that Major Egan is up for the job.”
“Besides, none of that 'unreal' stuff. At the end of the day, John Egan is nothing more than a man. If he can’t look past his nose and his d—" You gave a squeak to cover up the vulgar word Irene was about to blurt in public. She rolled her eyes fondly and continued.
“If he can’t see what you’re worth and make the effort to treat you a hundred times better than that? That’s on him. Not you. You know what you deserve, and you deserve everything you want. Absolutely everything.”
You sniffed, happy tears coming to your eyes. You brought your best friends in for a hug, thanking them profusely.
“Don’t sweat it,” Teresa grins into your shoulder “every girl needs to be pulled out of her well sometime.”
You pull back from the hug, grabbing your glass and tipping your head back, finishing the rest of your drink. “Even if he’s not gonna be here, let’s have a ball!” Your girlfriends cheer as the three of you go to the bar for refills.
One drink turns into two, which turns into a few more, and suddenly you’re buzzed. Your group are having a rambunctious time, Irene dancing by the local piano player. Once Irene looks over to you, she stops and whispers in the player’s ear. He nods, then starts a new tune. Irene starts up her voice, walking over to you and Teresa, encouraging you to join her.
The alcohol has loosened you up enough that you don’t feel the nausea you usually associate with being perceived, so you join in the harmonies you and your friends have practiced in your bunks at night.
He was a famous trumpet man from out Chicago way
He had a boogie style that no one else could play
He was the top man at his craft
But then his number came up and he was gone with the draft
Soon the whole pub was jumping and dancing along to the tune as you brought a new vibe to the pub. It was like a spark that started an entirely new night and everyone was eager to go on forever.
One song turns into an entire set, which ends with a full rendition of G.I. Jive, which had everyone singing along. It was a magical moment; made you feel like you were a part of something important.
Irene sidles up to you, giving you a hug. She says in your ear,
“I think it’s time to slow it down a bit. How about you sing that song I taught you.”
She means an old Appalachian folk song that’s been in her family for generations. You had heard her sing it one night and immediately loved the dark, but strong nature of the lyrics. It was an honor to learn it from her.
“I don’t know, it’s your family’s song and…”
“And I can’t think of anyone better to sing it to these soldiers.” You gave each other a look, her slight eyebrow raise gave you the courage to nod in acceptance. She smiled, hugging you again, her voice yelled out to the crowd.
“Birdie’s gonna sing solo!”
The announcement is met with raucous applause, Irene and Teresa shoving you towards a dodgy looking table. Crank offers a hand up, which you take gratefully. As you find your bearings on the tabletop, you quickly spin around and find all eyes on you.
The crackling energy in the air seemed to simmer, the fast-beating hearts of the pubgoers recognizing a moment to acknowledge you. Nausea starts to make an appearance, but a deep breath quells the sensation within you for the time being.
You take another deep breath. Inhale, exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
You close your eyes, open your mouth, and sing.
Meanwhile….
Majors Gale Cleven and John Egan walk down the familiar street, one eager to catch up with his fellow countrymen’s alcohol intake, the other just happy to spend time with his friends. They were arriving later to the festivities due to being caught up in filling out reports. By far the worst part of having a higher rank was the paperwork.
“It’s pretty quiet.” Buck acknowledges. “They’re usually rowdier by this point.”
Bucky sniffs, shrugging off the concern. “Ah, it’s probably nothing.”
As the two men approach the pub, they find that a crowd has formed. Soldiers, civilians, RAF, USAAF, old, young— people had obviously stopped to watch whatever was going on. It was dead silent, save for a voice singing. Was there a radio show on or something?
A familiar face peeks out at them from the crowd, DeMarco quickly waving them over.
Bucky is quick to question, “Hey, what’s going on?” but is immediately shushed by nearby crowd members. Buck cringes in apology, despite not being the one to disturb the peace. His best friend, ever unshaken by the opinion of strangers, carries on.
DeMarco leans in, whispering, “Your girl’s taking us all to church.”
“My girl..?” Bucky’s nose scrunches in confusion. He makes space through the crowd and quickly makes sense of DeMarco’s words. It was you.
I’ll catch you up
When I’ve emptied my cup
When I’ve worn out my friends
When I’ve burned out both ends
Standing on a tabletop, watchful eyes sat all around you like baby ducks flocking to their mama. You were captivating everyone with each note and word that flows from your mouth. Damn, you've got a set of pipes— a voice that belongs on the radio, in concert halls, on Hollywood records. He had no idea.
His little Birdie.
“Wow.” Buck mutters in awe from behind him, and Bucky couldn’t be more in agreement.
When I’m pure like a dove
When I’ve learned how to love
He hadn’t noticed before, but her eyes were closed. Like she needed to concentrate on each and every breath she took, every single movement her body made, before letting them out in an angelic melody.
As if by divine intervention, her eyes pop open and lock on his as she belts “how to love”
It could’ve been an eternity, for all he knows, the amount of time that they spent locked in each other’s gaze. The world pauses around them, everything frozen. Her eyes were already the kind to knock a man clean off his feet with a single gaze, but he thinks- for a brief moment- that his heart completely stops beating.
John Clarence Egan would swear every day from then on, until his dying breath, that the course of his life was altered in that very moment. He knew how it would continue from then on, and how it would end. How he wanted it to end.
Then the world starts back up and carries on.
Right here in the old therebefore
When nothing is left anymore
Her final hums are joined by a short blonde woman who stands nearby, another face he recognizes from base.
The applause that picks up after the end of the song is near deafening. The star of the hour gives a shy smile, a quick curtsy and is given a hand to step down from the table.
Everyone soon starts mingling, the normal chatter of the bar returning. But Bucky is stuck in his spot, dumbfounded. In all the conversations you’d had together, somehow this never came up. He should’ve put two and two together, as he recalls overhearing your hums one morning as he made his daily coffee delivery to you. But you had been caught off guard, so much so that you tripped off the ladder you stood on and fell. Luckily, his quick reflexes kicked in to catch you before any serious injuries occurred.
Remembering the sensation of his hands on your waist and thighs, face just inches from yours, sent his brain into a tailspin. That’s not even considering just how damn cute you were when, after a beat, you turned away from him and playfully mourned the cups of coffee that were splattered all over the hardstand.
“John. John?” A hand waving in front of his face knocks him out of his reverie. He blinks once, twice. Then looks to his best friend.
His voice comes out uncharacteristically weak in response, to which he then clears his throat and corrects. “Yes—yeah?” He pops the collar of his sheepskin jacket to try and hide the rampant red of his ears that signals the heat radiating from them.
Buck just shakes his head and gives him a knowing smile. “You sure know how to pick ‘em, Egan. Never thought I’d see the day.”
“See what day?” Bucky starts to consciously return to his body, leaning on the bar.
“The day when a girl finally knocks you on your ass. I knew you had a thing for her, but that?” He points to his face and motions to indicate where they had just been standing. “That’s something else. That’s something real.”
Bucky gives another shrug in response, to which Buck throws back an unconvinced frown. He turns his head to gaze over the pub patrons and is distracted by you once again. Any denial he was about to spout immediately dies in his mouth when you lock eyes with him again and give him a dazzling smile. The world starts to fade away again.
His heart pumps faster in his chest at the sight. Damnit. He sighs, telling his best friend the truth he’s been privately wrestling with for a while now, all the while keeping his eyes locked on yours.
“I know, Buck. I know.”
Bucky smiles back at you and is elated when your face lights up. You give him a wave.
“She kinda snuck up on me.”

Heyy! Hope you are doing well!!!
Had a really weird/scary experience this morning driving to work where this guy got agrressive and punched my car door (while i was still in the car). The only damage is a dent in my car door buttt that got me thinking … Could you please write a fic of either Aaron and/or the BAU comforting reader after she had a bad morning on her way to work and she walks inside in shock?
Thank you!!!
close calls
that's so so scary i'm so sorry :( cw; bau!reader, fluff and comfort, minor self-depreciating thoughts
"hey."
your presence didn't go unnoticed the second you entered the bullpen, as aaron was conveniently just leaving the small kitchen besides said door, cup of coffee in hand. however, you walked past him without much less of a glance. you were on complete autopilot, and so his welcoming greeting flew past you completely.
naturally he was taken aback, as it was very unlike your normal self. you were always quick to give him your bright smile and return an enthusiastic good morning. he considered it a crucial part of his daily routine.
worry instantly rippled through his chest.
something was clearly wrong.
aaron tried again, calling out your name and succeeding to grab your attention. his voice pulled you out of the trance you were in, and you turned to meet his eyes. his concern only heightened when he met your gaze, your expression similar to a deer frozen within headlights.
"oh," you stopped a bit too suddenly, having to regain slight balance as your feet were already one step ahead. you merely blinked, as if you were just now processing his presence, or reminding yourself where you were to begin with. "i'm sorry i'm late."
just like your mind, you sounded far away, too.
"no, no. i don't care about that." aaron's heart dropped at the anguish in your tone, especially when you took a step back, like you were expecting him to scold you. "are you alright?"
you opened your mouth to respond, but fell short, heat filling your cheeks as the gears in your head turned on and on about something. "it's- um, silly."
a frown pulled at his lips; it was a reoccurring habit of yours since you joined the bau, dismissing your feelings and everything else that fell in between. a bad morning compared to the wrath of serial killers? compared to what defenseless victims faced? your emotions meant nothing in comparison- were meaningless even. things could always be worse, so bad should be tolerable, right?
wrong. and aaron would continue to try and convince you otherwise.
always.
true to his word, "i can assure you, whatever it is, it's far from silly."
aaron's eyes were warm, inviting. and for the first time that morning, you felt safe. then again, you always did with him, and you couldn’t not open up to him.
"just... some guy nearly t-boned my car, on the way in." at your admission tears swarmed your eyes, ready and daring to escape. however you were faster, raising your sleeve to blot them before they managed to do so. “he sped away after.”
aaron's eyes widened and his jaw instantly tightened. but his first order of business- making sure you were in fact all in one piece. he scanned you quickly and once he was positive you weren't hiding any injuries, he asked again, with a bit more urgency this time. "are you alright?"
"fine, he just missed me." your statement was far from the truth; you weren’t fine and aaron knew it. your eyes began to water more profusely this time around, and you took a a deep, shaky breath. "just freaked me out a bit, y'know."
"of course." aaron was quick to validate, and he immediately placed his coffee down, long forgotten. "what do you need?"
"what?" you looked at him with glassy eyes, your voice so small you barely recognized it yourself.
aaron's hands carefully found yours, his fingertips just barely grazing yours- instantly comforting you at the touch. he was still fearful of any hidden wounds (yes, he checked again) and his actions were subtle enough to go unnoticed by any potential bystanders. he didn't dare to care about anyone else other than you. "what do you need?"
what could he do?
with a shrug, you all but whimpered, "have a shoulder to cry on?"
"absolutely." he didn't hesitate, his hand finding the small of your back and ready to take you into the privacy of his office.
you nodded, grateful.
"and once you're ready, let me know the intersection this happened at. i'll have garcia pull cams, and we'll get a license plate. i'll make sure whoever did this, is up to their elbows in traffic violations."
"thanks aaron," you sniffled softly, allowing him to guide you. you found yourself leaning against him for support- you were sure you would topple over from the weight of the morning’s events if you didn't. his arm wrapped around you further, holding you securely in place at his side. “you're the best."

HIHIHI I LOVELLVELOVE YOUR WRITING!!!
can i request rhea x reader fluff where the reader’s social battery runs out while they’re out somewhere and they start clinging onto rhea and she honestly doesn’t mind??
thank you sm and again I LOVE YOUR WRITING SM
hey so sorry about the delay :/ it’s been a lil over a month since you sent this in but i’ve had no motivation to write lately BUT this is so cute i couldn’t resist so thank you. i hope you like it :)
My Girl
rhea x reader
content: going to a wwe party with your hot buff goth gf but it got overwhelming towards the end but she comforts you just right bc she’s perfect in every way possible obviously
You and Rhea had been invited to the WW-Extravaganza. A yearly party for everyone to bring their significant others and show them off while they learn the ins and outs of the upcoming year. It was usually in October or November when no other holidays were happening.
Rhea couldn’t wait to take you. You hadn’t been able to go in the past because of work or family but you were finally able to this year. Though you had met almost everyone in the company, she was still excited to show you off.
She could tell you were a bit nervous as you were getting ready but she calmed you down easily, she was always so good at that.
You were in the middle of your makeup when this wave of anxiety hit you. You were shaking and trying to not to cry in hope of not ruining your makeup. You didn’t want to worry her so you kept quiet. When she walked past you at your vanity, she could immediately tell something was off, she was always good at that too.
“You know everyone there and there will be good food and drinks, and I’ll be right next to you the whole time, no need to worry,” she said holding you tightly from behind.
You took a deep breath as your nerves calmed underneath her. As she kissed the top of your head, you kissed her bicep.
“Plus you’ll be the hottest one there so,” she giggled.
“Look who’s talking,” you snap back.
“Can you blame me?” she posed behind you flexing her arms, devilishly smirking in the mirror as you looked at her.
You laughed shooing her away, “don’t get me going! I have to finish!”
“Okay, okay!” as she winked and walked to the living room.
The time came and went and the two of you were mingling throughout the crowd of muscular people and their significant others. Rhea immediately found Dom and the boys and as you talked with their wives about random things.
“So glad you could make it this year, it’s always so fun!” they said. “It’s so good to see you,” they ogled at your outfit and makeup as you glanced over to your girlfriend. She gave you an ‘I told you so’ look as you scrunched your nose at her before going back to the conversation.
It was maybe about an hour or so of talking with other wrestlers and making your rounds as Rhea’s girlfriend, holding her arm for comfort.
“Alright everyone please take your seats!” a booming voice said.
Shuffling around everyone found their way to their respective tables that had fancy name cards and decorations to represent the factions or groups of people. So of course, The Judgment Day’s center piece was purple and black with a scale and feathers. Where they found the scale was a question of its own but it was definitely a good choice.
Triple H talked while food was being served about how the year would go. Like what days the PLE’s would be, when specialty guests were coming, and other things of that nature. He wasn’t up there for long though but he did try to crack a few jokes.
“Now, please enjoy the food!” he walked off the stage, that had a makeshift ring, as everyone clapped.
“(Y/N)! I’m so happy you’re here,” Dom said.
“Me too! I’ve heard so many fun stories from the previous years,” you took a sip of your complimentary wine.
“And now you can make yer own,” Finn added.
“We’re gonna dominate in the games, don’t worry,” Damian tacked on.
“Yeah, last year Damage Control won almost all of them but we have you now,” Dom nudged you smiling.
You laughed, “I can’t wait!”
A familiar tattooed hand found its way to your bouncing leg and calmed it immediately. Rhea gave you a soft smile before going back to her food.
You talked and ate then played the games. There were games like: Pin the Belt on the Wrestler, Ring Pong, and Trivia and other wrestling inspired games strewn around the room. And just like Damian said, you and The Judgment Day brought home the gold, well, a silver plastic trophy that had a dumbbell statue on it with ‘Winner!’ engraved on the plaque.
“Hell yeah!” the australian yelled double high-fiving her boys. “You’re our good luck charm, baby!” she gave you a kiss as she dipped you back while the boys cheered.
Once the games were over everyone went back to talking and mingling. Some people left, but most stayed.
Your mind became tired and your body felt drained, you wanted to go home. It was already later than you wanted to stay out. It’s not like you weren’t having a good time but you realized quickly that your social battery was very low. You didn’t want to bother your girlfriend because you knew how much fun she was having. So you decided to keep quiet and try your best to stay involved.
You held Rhea’s arm, then switched to her hand, then back to her arm. When you were sitting, you laid your head on her shoulder, and rested your hand on her thigh. You did all this trying to stay attentive and in the conversations. You followed her around like a shadow the rest of the night.
“You okay baby?” she asked quietly.
“Yeah, just a bit tired is all,” you gave her a small smile.
“I noticed you’ve been attached to me for a bit, you sure?” she cups your jaw for a moment.
“I’m sure, just a little partied out,” you sigh, “but don’t worry I’m fine…really.”
“We can leave whenever you want,” she reassured you.
“No, I’m okay. I don’t want to stop you from having fun…” you took a deep breath before realizing it didn’t sound like you were having a good time so you added, “I am having fun too though, promise.”
“No, I know you. You’ve ran out, we can go, it’s okay. We’ve finished everyth-” she started.
“Baby,” you squeezed her arms, “I promise I’m good.”
She looked at you long and hard with her icy blue eyes, “okay,” she exhaled. “It’s late anyway, I was thinking about leaving soon, if that’s okay?”
“Perfectly fine, my love, whenever you want,” you raised yourself on your toes to kiss her before thumping back down.
“I love you so much. I’m so happy you’re here,” she smiled.
“Me too.”

“She’s my girlfriend.”
Janis ‘Imi’ike x short tempered!fem!reader
Not my pics
Warnings- Regina being a jerk, arguing, fighting, janis just being a sweet comforting gf. I think thats all but lmk if i’m wrong!
A/N- This is honestly mostly Regina x reader but oh well. This idea just came to me randomly lol. Might write a part two with more Janis and less Regina lol.
You and Janis have been dating for 2 weeks now, you got together over spring break so no one really knew yet besides your family’s and close friends.
You were at your locker getting your things for your next class when an arm snakes around your waist making you turn your head to see your girlfriend. “Hey baby.” You smile as you close your locker. “Hey.” You kiss her before you heard that voice. “Well well well.” Oh great, here we go. You roll your eyes as does Janis. “What do you want Regina?” Janis said, both of you turning around to face the blonde. “Who’s this?” She asks, looking you up and down. That makes you roll your eyes again but before you can snap back with a snarky comment Janis beats you to it. “She my girlfriend.” “Aw you finally found someone that will put up with you?” Regina says with a fake pout. “Hey, uh, wait what’s your name again? Never mind i don’t care, did you know you’re little princess here likes to play with fire?” She says, giving Janis that shit eating grin of hers. “Look don’t even try any bull shit with me miss ‘queen bitch’, i know what you did to Janis oh and by the way your a piece of shit for that, but i will not put up with any of your nonsense.” You snap back. “Babe-” Janis starts but you cut her off. “No, no i’m not dealing with it. She walks all over everyone at this stupid school and I’m tired of it.” “Ooo, looks like you got yourself a feisty one.” Regina says, unfazed by your words. You were ready to attack her at this point but Janis grips your waist a bit tighter. “Regina, just go.” Your jaw clenched as she walked away, your eyes following her every move. “Hey, baby look at me.” Janis says then she grips your chin gently and turns your head to look at her. “Breathe, she’s only messing with you because of me.” You roll your eyes. “She’s a bitch, not just to you but everyone. It pisses me off.” “I know love, i know. But she just wants attention, she wants to get a reaction and getting mad is only giving her what she wants.” You sigh and nod, she places a gentle kiss on your lips. “Now come on let’s get to class.” She took your hand and the two if you walked to your next class, which lucky for you, you shared said class with Janis.
~~~~
It’s been weeks, weeks! And Regina still tries to pull any strings she can at any time she can. She’s dug deep into your history just to find something on you, she came out with nothing but stupid things from elementary school that wouldn’t help her much, she did find one thing though, you have a short temper. You get angry quickly and now that she knows that she’s gonna push all your buttons.
You were walking down the hall after asking to go to the restroom when you felt a hand on you shoulder, spinning you around to face her there was Regina with that stupid smirk on her face. “Hey Y/N.” You shrugged her hand off your shoulder. “Oh look you finally learned my name.” Regina chuckles. “I see your little pet isn’t with you.” Her words made you blood start boiling already. “I’m not doing this with you Regina.” You started to walk away. “Aw poor baby can’t handle a little chat? I know you’re a loner, or should i say loser, but i just wanted to talk.” She says, you clenched your fist by your sides as you turn around. “Fine. What could you possibly want to talk about?” She grins her shit eating grin. “I just wanted to warn you how crazy your little girlfriend is.” Your fists tighten. “Stop talking about her.” “Aw why not? You know she used to like me right? She was so obsessed.” Your jaw clenched and you got closer to her. “She was never obsessed with you. And even if she was she’s not anymore so just leave her alone.” Regina scoffed. “Yeah right, everyone is obsessed with me, haven’t you noticed?” You rolled your eyes. “That’s not true, you’re a bitch and everyone knows it.” “Ouch what cruel words of yours.” She mocked. You wanted to pounce on her, your fists and jaw was clenched tightly, you take a deep breath as you turn to walk away, trying the take the advice Janis had taught you before. “Ooo, did i hit a nerve?” You keep walking, trying to take deep breaths, your nails dug into your palms so hard that you were almost bleeding. “So angry,” Regina started. “It’s almost cute.” And that was it, you just couldn’t take it, you fast walked back to her and before either of you even realized your fist had already connected with her face. She stumbled back with a small yelp of pain, her hand going over her eye. But when she stabilized herself again she glared at you. “You bitch.” She said before then the two of you were fighting in the middle of the hall. It went on for a good moment. “Woah, woah, woah! Girls! Stop!” A teacher shouts as he ran over, pulling the two of you apart.
~~~~
You sat in a chair in the front office, leg bouncing, chewing on your bottom lip, decently dark bruises on your face, and probably other places that you haven’t seen yet, you knew your parents would be pissed, and what would Janis say? You didn’t know because even though you wanted to text her you were afraid to.
When your mom walked into the office you can see the angry radiating off of her. Great.
The second the car doors closed she immediately started. “What the hell were you thinking?! Why did you do it?” You rolled your eyes. “I wanna go home.” “Why did you do it Y/N.” She says more sternly. “She was being a bitch. She has been for weeks now. I couldn’t take it and she wasn’t just being a jerk to me she was talking about Janis too.” Your mom sighed, lucky for you she loved Janis and she can’t lie she is a bit proud that you would take up for yourself and others. “Well you’re still grounded, for 2 weeks.” You were honest surprised she dropped it so easily. “Wait, what? Nothing else? Just 2 weeks of being grounded?” “Do you want it to be longer?” She snaps back as she starts the car. You quickly just shut your mouth and went with it.
~~~~
You walk into school the next day, surprisingly you didn’t get in much trouble over the fight, you had a bruised up face as did Regina and you were getting tons of looks and you hated it. You walked with your head down until soon Janis was right in front of you, lifting your chin to look at her. “Oh baby…” She frowned, cupping your face as her thumbs glide over your bruises ever so gently. “I’m fine.” “I never said you weren’t but this looks pretty painful.” You shrug. “It’s not that bad.” She sighs. “Why did you fight her? I told you she just wants a reaction.” “I know but she deserved it either way, i wasn’t gonna let her walk all over me any longer.” She sighed then nods. “I get it.” There’s silence for a moment until she smiles and says. “You look pretty hot for someone with a bruised face.” You smile with an eye roll, she chuckles and plants a kiss to your lips then a few around your face and back to your lips. “Ok, ok, chill, we’re still in school y’know?” You said pulling away and she laughs lightly as she pulls away. “Well we could just…ditch?” She says with a smirk. “Hm, tempting.” You paused, thinking. “Y’know what? Fuck it, i don’t want to see Regina again anyway.” She smiles and with one last kiss the two of you then left.
Are you mine? - Chapter eleven: "The pieces this job takes"
Summary: The Reids welcome little Vinny, and Raven will have to deal with being a sister now. The team has to say good bye to a member, and Spencer will just have to deal with changes one more time. Word count: 11.094 Warnings: This is a painful chapter for Spencer. A/N: Sorry I couldn't post last week, I had an accident (don't worry, I'm ok). I love Anderson's moment to shine in this chapter, and I hate putting Spencer through more trauma. Also, I was so sad writing Raven's tantrum... I totally understand her.
Series' Masterlist - Author's masterlist
Previous chapter | Next chapter (post date: November 13th)
(Y/N)’s point of view
Morgan took six months off after what happened to him. He had to recover mentally and physically, which was neither easy nor fast. I know some things happened to him he wasn’t sharing with us, not even with Savannah. He didn’t want to be a burden for her, and that’s a feeling I can absolutely understand.
We saw him a lot though, which was good. We were there for him the day he and Savanna got married in a beautiful ceremony, and he was there for us the day Vincent was born.
Considering the team was down two members, Hotch couldn’t let Spencer stay at Quantico the last couple of weeks before the baby’s due date. Of course, that means I was in the bullpen when my water broke.
Honestly, sometimes I wonder why we didn't leave the FBI sooner. I'm fully aware I keep saying the same the entire time, but it’s shocking how things were a hot mess and we never noticed. Why were we so blind?
I wanted to kill Hotch for forcing Spencer to go with the team to solve a case in Alabama when I was so close to my due date. I understood things were critical without Morgan on the team and with me not being able to fly. But yet, you’d expect some humanity. I guess sometimes work comes first for some people.
My water broke as I walked from Garcia’s office to my desk to pick up some files. I froze on my spot and didn’t know what to do for a few seconds. My mind went blank. That was not supposed to happen like that. Not with Spencer away. And definitely not in the middle of the office.
- “Anderson…”- I looked around me and found him at his desk, typing something.- “Sonny, can you help me?”
- “What happened, Reid?”- ever since I married Spencer, he has loved calling me by my new last name.
- “Uhm… can you come over?”
- “Give me a minute.”- and he kept typing, not even looking at me. I didn’t want to yell I was almost popping a baby right there, but my friend wasn’t giving me another chance.
- “I can’t wait. Please.”
- “Come on, Reid.”
- “Agent Grant Anderson, I need you. Now.”- a few other heads turned as my voice filled the bullpen. Anderson turned to me shocked, but I’m guessing my freaked-out face forced him to bite his tongue at whatever he was going to say and he rushed over to me.
- “What… oh shit.”- he looked at the puddle on the floor between my legs and understood it all in a second.
- “Yes.”- I cut him a short smile and took a deep breath. I had to do my best not to freak out too.
- “What now?”- Anderson whispered, remaining calm.
- “I need you to drive me to the hospital. Garcia is busy helping the team.”
- “Ok, do you wanna call Reid first?”
- “First, I wanna call my doctor. And I need to tell Garcia. Spencer is gonna freak out and there is no need to get him worried when this can still take a few more hours.”- I did my best to remain calm knowing as soon as Spencer knew what was happening, he was ditching the team and taking the first flight back home.
- “Ok, you wanna sit down while I get Garcia?”
- “I don’t wanna get the chair all dirty.”- I argued as Anderson moved a chair closer.
- “Don’t be silly, Reid. Sit down, I’ll bring Garcia and your phone so you can dial your doctor, ok?”- I simply nodded and watched him sprint across the office.
Raven took her sweet time when she was born, but not our Vincent. He was ready to take over the world in no time. Contractions hit me hard and I was worried my husband wasn’t going to make it on time to be with me during labor. Did I tell him? Of course not, I knew he was freaking out and I didn’t want to worry him anymore.
Spencer called me as soon as he could. I didn’t get to him the first time I dialed, so he got the news from Garcia when Anderson was taking me to the hospital.
- “I’m ok, honey. I promise.”- I whispered as soon as I heard his voice on the other side of the line.- “Doctor Feldmann is going to be waiting for me at the hospital, and Frank and Mikey are on their way over.”
- “I’ll ask Morgan to go too.”
- “He has his very own pregnant wife to take care of, hun.”- I reminded him, but I could almost see Spencer’s scowl all the way from Alabama.
- “I can’t believe I am not there with you.”
- “It might take a few more hours, so you’ll be ok. We’ll wait for you to start the fun part.”- I joked knowing there was no way I could predict that, but I needed to give Spencer some peace of mind.
- “I’ll be there as soon as I can. I’ll call you when my flight arrives.”- I heard Spencer sigh at the other side of the line and my chest tightened knowing how bad he felt being away from me at that minute.
- “I love you so much honey bunny. Be safe, ok?”
- “I’m so sorry, chipmunk. I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
- “I know. Please, take care.”
- “Ok, nugget. Your mom is on her way with Raven, I got you ice, and some marshmallows in case your sugar drops. I think we are covered. Do you have to start pushing already? Shit, I’m not ready for that. Please don’t start pushing yet.”- Frank rushed into my room, nearly hyperventilating. He paced across the room, clearly freaking out, as I stared at him, and the nurse raised an eyebrow.
- “Is he the dad?”
- “Nope-” I replied chuckling- “He is not even the godfather. Just my best friend.”
- “Basically I’m like a brother to you.”- Frank replied right away, and pretended to be shocked - “And I am not Vinny’s godfather? Are you serious? What are you talking about? I feel betrayed.”
- “I told you, it’s gonna be Mikey. You are Raven’s godfather. You can’t have all the kids.”
- “We are not having this conversation right now. You are clearly sedated.”- I chuckled and stared at my friend, who crossed his arms on his chest and looked at me from the end of my bed.
- “You do realize I haven’t gotten anything yet. I am not even…”- but a contraction stopped my words and ended that silly argument. Frank moved quickly to my side and held my hand tight. He didn’t even say a word, he just stared at me, obviously concerned, and waited until the pain had passed.
- “I’m so not having kids.”- he whispered after a few seconds, making me chuckle.
- “That’s ok, just can you check my vagina and see if I’m dilated already?”- I joked and saw the color leaving his face.- “I’m joking! Go out and wait for my mom. I’ll be fine.”
- “No way. I am not leaving you alone. I’m not getting anywhere near your vagina, but I am not leaving you alone until Spencer is here.”
And he didn’t leave. Frank stayed in my room until my husband got there, five hours later. Morgan, Mikey, and my mom kept me company too. They took Raven to get ice cream from the cafeteria and honestly helped me stay sane. Savannah, who was four months pregnant by then, and still dealing with all the nausea and morning sickness, helped keep me sane during the entire time. She was not only my friend, but also a doctor, and that always helped during delivery.
I will always be grateful for the family of friends we’ve created along the way.
Spencer’s point of view
It was a mess, nothing went as planned. I was in Alabama with the team and took the first flight back home. Garcia called me, nearly crying ‘cos she couldn’t go with my wife to the hospital, she had to work the case along with the team. I froze in place for a few seconds, not knowing what to do first.
- “Anderson is gonna drive her to the hospital. I'll be with her as soon as I can.”
- “I’m on my way.”- that was all I could say before I hung up and turned to Hotch.- “I have to leave. Now.”
Morgan, Frank, and Mikey had to take my place in the hospital while I was away. I nearly got into the pilot’s cabin and yelled at him to take us home faster if possible. Those were the longest four hours of my life, it was torture. I thought I was going to go crazy sitting there thinking my wife was alone in a hospital delivering our baby, and all because work forced me to be out of town.
When I finally got to the hospital, I rushed in flashing my FBI badge to everyone and anyone who could even think of trying to stop me. Am I proud of that? No. Do I regret it? Hell no! I just wanted to be with my wife as soon as possible, no matter what.
- “Reid!”- I heard Morgan’s voice as I rushed down the hall, trying to find the right room. He was with Savannah, Mikey, and Raven.
- “Dada!”- she escaped Mikey’s arms and ran to me. I squatted and opened my arms to hold her. - “Mommy said bad words.”
I chuckled at her comment and kissed her forehead as I stood up and walked toward our friends, who stood up as soon as they saw me.
- “I think today we can spare her a few bad words.”- I whispered into my daughter’s ear and heard her giggle.- “Guys, thank you for being here.”
- “Nothing to thank us for”- Morgan replied immediately- “You should put an eye on your pretty girl. She looked like she was about to pop your kid five minutes ago.”- I widened my eyes, gave Raven to Mikey, and ran to the room.
(Y/N) was squatting on a ball, holding her mother’s hand as Frank kneeled beside her, talking nonstop and looking honestly confused.
- “Oh thank god.”- he mouthered the second he saw me. I rushed in and held my wife tight. She grunted and shook in my arms. That’s when I realized how late I was.
- “I’m here, ma cherie. I’m here.”
- “I know. Vincent is almost here too.”- she whispered and didn’t let go. For a few minutes, it was just us holding each other. I wanted to ask her to forgive me for being so late, but words didn’t leave my lips. Instead, I just kept her close to me for a little longer.
- “I’m gonna get the nurse.”- Sofia said, probably to give us some privacy.
- “And I'm gonna leave this room before our friendship is forever scarred with gore scenes I will never be able to forget.”- Frank added and walked to the door.- “I’ll be out with the guys and my goddaughter.”
- “Thank you.”- that’s all I managed to say, but I’ve always been sure he understood the depth of my words. For a few minutes, it was just us. (Y/N) asked me to help her move to the bed, and I wrapped my arms around her to help her support the weight of her belly.
- “Did you tell Hotch I hate him for keeping you away?”- she muttered in the middle of what was clearly a very painful contraction.
- “Yes, I did.”
I did not. It wasn’t necessary, (Y/N) had made it clear before we left for the case that she was never going to forgive Hotch if the baby was born while I was out of town. The entire team knew it, my wife hadn’t been subtle at all. She stood next to the elevator's door before we left for the case, looked him in the eyes, and said: “If the baby is here and Spencer is still away, I won’t be back for work, ever again.”
- “Good.”- she whispered as I helped her sitting on the hospital bed.- “Honey Bunny, I think I’m ready to push.”
- “Wait just a few more minutes. Your mom is coming with the doctor.”
- “Shit, fuck, for Christ's sake! What shitted mother fucker thought this fuckery was in fact fair for women??!- my wife shouted every curse with such profound heart and pain, it was clear she needed more medication. Who knew when she had gotten her epidural.
- “You know, the first thing Raven told me when I got here was how you had said many bad words today.”- I whispered in her ear as I kept rubbing her back, trying to help her through the pain.
- “I fucking told Mikey to take her out, I didn’t want her to be traumatized and watch me losing it in pain.”- (Y/N) seemed mortified.
- “It’s ok, I told her you were allowed to curse a little today.”- Sofia and a nurse walked into the room, and a doctor followed them a few seconds after.
- “Ok Mrs. Reid, your baby boy seems to be ready.”- doctor Feldmann announced as he sat at the end of the bed and checked on my wife.
- “He feels ready as well.”- she mumbled, doing her best to be strong. I just scooped a little closer and held her a little tighter. I’ve never known what to do during delivery but praying and holding her hand tight. Being next to her while she delivers our babies is magical and agonizing at the same time. I will never love the process, not if I know she is going through an excruciating pain and there is nothing I can do to stop it.
It only took thirty minutes and Vincent Spencer Reid was there with us. His soft cries filled the room and my heart stopped. He was so small, so innocent, so vulnerable. Dr Feldmann placed him on (Y/N)’s chest and she caressed his back carefully, as the two of us stared at him with a loving smile on our lips.
- “Hello baby boy.”- she whispered and her voice shook as tears fell from her eyes.- “Aren’t you a pretty boy. My pretty boy.”
- “Hey there, Vincent. I’m your dad. Hello.”- I ran my fingers down his tiny arm and smiled at him.- “I hope you like baseball ‘cos it’s the only sport I’ve managed to learn so far.”
- “Maybe he’ll teach you, look at those hands, they are so big.”- (Y/N) whispered and touched his fist with her index - “Looks like the hand of a basketball player.”
- “Or maybe he’ll be an artist.”- I suggested and (Y/N) looked at me with a bigger smile.
- “I would love that.”- I stared into her eyes and caressed her cheek a few times, then ran my fingers up to her temples, and wiped a little of her sweat off before kissing her.
- “You did you good, ma cheriè. I’m so proud of you.”
- “I’m glad it went well and that he is here. Wanna go tell the rest?”
- “Not yet.”- I whispered and touched Vinny’s back one more time, enjoying the feeling of having my son there with me for the very first time - “Give me another minute of this.”
- “All the time you want.”- my wife answered and chuckled- “We have a son.”
- “We have a son.”- I smiled at those words and tears blurred my vision for a moment. I had a son, and he was perfect. Life was perfect.
Mikey stood up the second he saw me and his smile mimicked mine as I announced Vinny was there and that everything had gone well. He, Frank, and Morgan hugged me, tapping on my back, and congratulating me. Well, us. I smiled at them as I turned to Raven and opened my arms for her. She was cuddled in Sofia's arms and hesitated for a few seconds before moving toward me.
- “Come on birdy. Do you wanna see mommy and meet your brother?”- Sofia kissed her cheek and encouraged her to go with me, but she still wasn’t sure. I held her and kissed her cheek a few times before announcing.
- “(Y/N) said you guys can come in and say hi after Raven meets her brother. He really wanted to hang out with her first.”
- “Of course man.”- Morgan replied.- “Your baby boy has to meet his big sister first.”
- “I’m not big.”- Raven whispered.- “I’m a baby too.”
I should have seen that reaction coming, honestly. Raven hadn’t been excited during the first few months of (Y/N)’s pregnancy. She actually threw a massive tantrum the day we explained to her what was happening. It hadn’t been easy and Frank stepped up as her godfather and helped her see the benefits of having a little brother. However, we knew Raven would get jealous no matter how. And it was our job to show her nothing was going to change.
- “Baby girl, are you ready?”- I whispered as I held my daughter in my arms and started walking to the room. Raven hid her face on my shoulder and wrapped her arms around me very tight. I could almost feel her little heart beating hard inside her chest. It was a big day for her. The same as it was for us.
- “Hey birdy!”- (Y/N) whispered from her bed, where she sat, nursing Vincent.- “Vinny was just asking for you.”
Raven’s curiosity was bigger than her fear, clearly, ‘cos she slowly moved her face from my neck and turned to look at her brother.
- “Look, that’s your brother, Vincent.”- I sat next to (Y/N) and Raven moved in my arms, trying to get the closest look she could to her brother. She was silent judging the baby. I kept my eyes on her as she raised her little hand and carefully pressed a finger on his cheek.
- “He is so Squishy!”- Raven whispered and giggled.- “Vinny is squishy!!”
- “Yes, he is. And he is very tiny, are you gonna help us teach him all the fun things we do?”- my wife held Raven’s small hand and placed a kiss on it, making our daughter giggle one more time- “Like singing and playing and having tea parties?”
- “Can he wear a tiara?”- I tried not to chuckle at her question ‘cos she was incredibly serious about it.
- “If he wants to, of course.”
- “Don’t worry Birdy. We are still going out every Saturday morning on our dad and daughter dates.”
- “Just us?”- Raven looked at me and her little eyes shone with excitement.
- “Just us.”- I murmured and kissed the top of her head.
- “Do you wanna hold him?”- (Y/N) asked and Raven couldn’t believe it.
- “Yes Mommy!! Please!!”
- “Ok, sit here next to me.”- and as our daughter followed all the instructions my wife gave her and I placed a pillow on her small lap, I stared at the scene unraveling in front of me as I did my best not to cry, but tears kept filling my eyes. My daughter was now a big sister and was holding her little brother in her arms. I chuckled and locked eyes with (Y/N) for a moment. And as we smiled at each other, all I could think of was: I have two kids. Everything I do, I do it for my wife and our two kids.
You don’t know how that thought can change a person. The way it made me feel so much stronger and weaker at the same time. I would do anything for my family. I would fight the world to keep them safe. And at the same time, it petrified me knowing I was now living with my heart outside my chest. They were all I had, all I loved. My entire life.
I never thought I’d have a conversation about this a few months later, with Morgan, right after he came back to the team. We first had a surprise baby shower for him and Savannah in the meeting room. She was nearly on her due date and Morgan was clearly freaking out about becoming a dad, so we tried to help him relax a little and share a nice moment before a big case. (Y/N) was already back working, so she organized everything with Garcia and Savannah. Raven was in Playground and Sofia took care of Vincent while we worked, and though life was crazy, you could say we were managing.
We had a case that very same day that took us to Witchita, a double homicide and a child abduction. It hit differently when they were kids involved. To all of us now, but I’m guessing Morgan wasn’t ready to be back on the field and dealing with something like that.
We were in the police office, just us, going over some information while the rest of the team gathered a few things. I was going over some info, and Morgan seemed lost, sitting there, his mind and thoughts just weren’t in the room with us.
- “The glue our unsub used is sold practically everywhere, so we can't isolate the point of purchase.”- I pointed out as I read one of the files we had.- “A mineral analysis from the sand, however, indicates that it came from the Seneca River in upstate New York.”
Morgan didn’t reply. I doubt he even heard me. I kept my eyes on him as I straightened up and walked a little closer to him.
- “You ok?”
- “Yeah.”- he replied, but his eyes were so sad and concerned it was clear he was not, in fact, ok.
- “Morgan, we're gonna find the people who tried to kill you.”- I said as I sat on a chair in front of him, trying to reassure him that things were going to be ok. But that was not what clouded his mind, not that minute at least.
- “He was in his pajamas.”- he mumbled, staring at a point on the wall. He must have felt I wasn’t getting where he was going, ‘cos he quickly added. - “Ronnie Brewer. Out there by the side of the road, he was still in his pajamas.”
I looked at my hands and took a deep breath. That was a fact I knew, but I was trying my best not to overanalyze it. Not to imagine my kids in his place either. Not to lose it in the middle of an investigation. It’s hard to keep your head cold. You might think it gets easier with the years, but no. It only gets worse. The more you get involved in the cases, the more parts of you you give.
- “I'm sorry, kid.”- Morgan tried to justify his behavior.- “I, uh, I don't know, man. Six months on the sidelines. I guess I still have a few blisters where I used to have calluses.”
- “I don't think that's what this is.”- I say looking straight at his face with a short smile.
- “Oh, no?”- I shook my head when he stared at me confused - “Then what is it?”
- “You're about to be a dad. You know? You have to expect the world to start to feel different.
- “Did it happen to you?”
- “Of course. And it’s terrifying!”- I confessed and tried to be as honest as possible, ‘cos maybe that would help him relax a little. He sighed and held his head with one head for a minute, trying to focus and rearrange his thoughts.
- “It just feels so hard. Not as in difficult. Literally hard.”- Morgan started explaining how he felt. And it was something that I could definitely understand. - “Like asphalt is hard. Like pavement.”
- “And children are soft.”- I added, and the thought of Raven touching Vincent’s cheek saying how “squishy” he was filled my mind and my heart with love and fear. These two feelings that, apparently by rule, always came together in my life.
- “Yeah. Defenseless.”- Morgan added, mumbling under breath.
- “That's why every day we try to make this world a little safer.”- I said and tried to smile at him, though the frown on his face didn’t move.
- “How do you do it? You have two, you’ve seen the worst people can do.”
- “We are making a change, one day at a time. I will never look at the world the way I did before I was a father. But it helps knowing there are people like us, catching bad guys. I guess focusing on the good instead of the horror is what keeps me going.”
Morgan stared at me in silence, like analyzing everything I had just said. For the first time in my life, I felt like he was the one who needed my help. I was usually the one lost in a world with too many messages I couldn’t understand. And Morgan was the one helping me decoding them and teasing me about it.
But not this time.
- “If there's one thing I'm sure of, is that you and Savannah are going to be great parents.”- I added and smiled at him. Morgan chuckled and realized the position we were at. Me, giving him advice for once.
- “Charge by the hour, Doc?
- “Yeah, but you need to book your appointment at least two days ahead.”- I teased and my friend finally laughed. For the first time in what seemed to be years.
(Y/N)’s point of view
I tried to be rational. I swear. But after baby number two and going back to work, I hated how everything had changed. I could feel it around me, and I know Spencer felt it too, though I’m not sure if he felt it at the same level I did.
It was clear Morgan was leaving. I could feel it in my guts the second he walked back to the bullpen after those six months away, and I tried to prepare my husband for it. Change is part of life, that I can not change (see what I did there?). But that doesn’t mean we are always gonna love each one of the changes of ties that life sends our way. Derek had the right to start a new life, and the time felt right. It made me wonder, yet again, if leaving the BAU was the right path to follow. But at that time, it didn’t make as much sense as it does now. I guess I wasn’t ready to deal with everything that would unravel with time.
One of those things was so embarrassing I kept pushing it aside and failed. But it was so incredibly embarrassing, that I couldn’t tell anyone but Lu.
I was jealous. Seriously jealous. Of JJ.
At that time it was mainly because my stomach kept telling me there was something odd about how sometimes, especially during cases. She acted somehow territorial about Spencer. Like he was hers. That made no sense, obviously. He was my husband and only her friend. I wasn’t proud of how I felt, but a voice deep inside of me kept warning me about her attitude.
But instead of listening to my instinct, I tried to bury it. I excused my own brain, telling myself it was all because I had just had a baby and I was feeling insecure. Which was probably true, in part. But there was something about how JJ always found an excuse to be close to my husband that bothered me the second I came back to work after my maternity leave.
It didn’t really help that we were under similar conditions. Both had two kids and husbands on the field. A very demanding job, eyes for Spencer the entire time he was around. And it felt like she had her shit together, not like me, who struggled every day. Not JJ. She was fucking perfect. From her hair to her attitude and her outfits. There was no way she was a mother of two, her body was, for lack of a better word, perfect. I was filled with stretch marks underneath my clothes, making me feel incredibly self-conscious. I knew it was normal, I had two babies, my body was going to change, and Spencer seemed to be ok with that. But it felt unfair. JJ looked the same. I looked like a mom. I hated it.
- “You do realize you are being incredibly hormonal about this. Right?”- Lu suggested one afternoon when I managed to call her in between kids, cases, and house chores. Spencer had taken Raven to the store to get some things I needed to cook dinner, and Vinny was napping. So I called my friend as I started catching up with laundry.
- “Define being hormonal, please.”
- “You are not being rational, and you always keep your head cold, and this is so not you. Who cares about JJ? Spencer loves you!”
- “I know, but… she is so much better than me in every single fucking way. It’s annoying.”
- “That’s all in your head!”- I could basically hear my friend’s grin through the line. - “All this ‘cos you are no longer a size… what’s your size again?”
- “No! all this ‘cos I feel like a big fucking failure!”
- “How are you even failing? You do more in a day than Frankie does in a year.”- I tried not to chuckle at the comparison because I was trying to show her how upset I was.
- “I mean it, Lu! I know this is not a competition, but what if Spencer realizes I am a shitty wife, a lousy mother, and a sickening sight when naked.”
- “Aren’t you being silly? That man has loved you since before he could even start talking to you or even looking you in the eye. So stop it.”
- “He loved her first”
- “He had a silly crush on her before he met you. That’s it. You’ve always felt threatened by her. It’s not just now. And that’s because you can not believe something this good could happen to you. But it did, so be grateful and enjoy it.”- Lu gave a very compelling speech, I gotta admit. But one thing kept bothering me.
- “What if she is in fact in love with him and tries to do something?”
- “Then she is the most stupid FBI agent I’ve ever met.”
I remember chuckling at her response, thinking if JJ ever tried to make her move on my husband, not only I was going to go absolutely unsub with her, but probably Lu, my mom, and even Frank and Mikey could definitely bring her down.
But, much as I tried, things had changed. I could feel it. It was obvious even when nothing was happening at the bullpen. And it was clear the second Morgan came back to work. He wasn’t the same man that had left six months earlier. None of us were anymore.
The last case we worked with Morgan was the worst we had had since he had been kidnapped.
Savannah got shot. That day we were about to leave the bullpen when Garcia got the call. Spencer was talking with JJ as I grabbed all my things, already late to Raven’s school spring recital. Our daughter was so excited about the recital, her class was going to sing a song and she had practiced for weeks. She was confident she was good at it, and all she could talk about was how much she wanted to show her dad how well she and her friend were going to sing. It broke my heart to miss that show. I know it broke Spencer’s as well.
Pen rushed over, tears already falling down her cheeks, as she explained what had just happened. Morgan was at the hospital with Savannah. They were trying to save her and their baby. Things didn’t look good. In a second we were running to the elevator and Hotch drove us to the crime scene.
You don’t know how hard it is to call it a “crime scene” when it’s the place your friend was hurt. Hotch tried to keep Derek out of the investigation for obvious reasons, Morgan wasn’t in his right mind. None of us were, to be honest. But I knew keeping him out of the investigation was basically impossible. So I entered mode S.A.A Reid, and hid all my fears and worries, even my daughter’s deception (I knew I was going to deal with that later). I needed to help our friends.
I called my mom from the car. I tried to explain what had just happened and why we couldn’t be there with our daughter. We jumped out of the SUV as soon as we got there, Morgan was trying to cross the police line, looking like a madman. I heard him yelling “That’s my team” before JJ walked over and explained to the police he was in fact an FBI agent and not a psycho. I couldn’t blame him, I would look the same if my family had been hurt. I know I did when it happened. You see red when they hurt someone you love.
- “Tell me you got something.”- Morgan demanded, fire in his eyes as he spoke to us.
- “A casing and a rifle up on the roof.”- Rossi explained in a single line everything we knew.
- “This guy isn't sloppy. He's sending us a message.”- JJ added, but really didn’t say anything new. I turned to Morgan and held his hand for a moment, giving it a small squeeze, trying to comfort him. He was hot, and anger was running through his body as adrenaline kept him going.
- “Garcia, we need to access the surveillance footage.”- Hotch said and Pen nodded immediately.
- “Of course. I'm on it.”- and off she went.
- “What else we got?”- Morgan asked, and none of us said a thing. ‘Cause of course, after fifteen minutes, we didn’t have much to add.
- “That's it right now.”- Rossi sighed and shook his head
- “Where were you and Savannah standing?”- Spencer asked, first ‘cause Morgan was the only witness we had, and even under the stressful conditions he was under, he had to tell us what he saw. And second, ‘cos we had to keep him busy or that man was going to go crazy.
- “We were standing right over there on the side of my truck. We were just talking. She was to the back and I was facing her. I was the vulnerable one. I was the easy shot.”- Morgan finished that sentence screaming.
- “How's Savannah?”- I whispered, trying to calm him down.
- “She's in surgery.”- our friend’s voice was cracking, just like his strength. I grabbed his arms and pushed him with me to start walking.
- “Come on, let's check in. Rossi, are you coming?”- David nodded and started walking along with us.
- “You guys got this?”- Morgan asked and looked at the team. Spencer nodded and looked at me for a moment. He confessed sometime later that all he could think of that minute was that if that was me in the hospital, shot, he’d kill whoever was responsible for hurting me. I never forgot it 'cause I kept thinking the same thing.
We checked in at the hospital, where Rossi did most of the talking, and then we sat in a waiting room on the second floor.
- “Metro PD's gonna secure all the windows and have an officer placed in front of Savannah's room 24/7.”- David explained as Morgan walked and nodded, like a zombie.
- “Thanks.”- he mumbled though I know he didn’t process what Rossi had just said.
- “I got us a conference room down the hall to work in, and I'm getting access to the security cams right now.”- Penelope announced as she walked into the room, nearly hyperventilating.
- “Great. You two need coffee?”- Rossi offered
- “I’m good.”- Garcia replied immediately
- “No. Thanks.”- Morgan nearly bit Rossi’s head off as he replied. I couldn’t blame him, though, he was under stress, and he was going to be a nasty asshole until he knew Savannah was safe. Rossi looked at me and asked.
- “No cream, no sugar?”
- “Thank you.”- I whispered and cut him a short smile as he walked out of the waiting room.
- “Tara's donating blood in case Savannah needs more. It turns out they're the same type.”- Pen added as Morgan continued pacing across the room.
- “I’m a universal donor. I’m gonna sign up to donate for her as well.”- I said and turned around to leave. I knew Morgan well enough to leave him be for a moment. Now that he was in the waiting room, pacing and with Garcia, I could be useful somewhere else.
I was still signing papers when I heard Morgan storm out of the waiting room, smashing a pile of paper towels in a cart he found on his way down the hall. The nurses winced and I sighed as I grabbed my phone and read my husband’s text. Hotch had taken Morgan officially off the case.
- “Is he ok?”- Spencer texted me.
- “Nope. Stormed out. I’m donating blood for Savannah.”- I quickly replied. A nurse asked me to follow her to another room and got me ready to
- “Looking at the footage with JJ in the conference room.”- my stomach tightened at the thought of him and JJ being alone. But we were at work, and doing something incredibly important and personal. There was no time for jealousy.
- “I’ll be there in a second.”- I replied and put my phone back into my pocket. The nurse asked me to raise my sleeve, and for a couple of minutes, all I could do was pray for Savannah’s health.
- “So if security footage has no angles of the shooting or the rooftop, where does that leave us?”- Rossi asked as we all stood around the table, trying to find something new to call a clue that might lead us to the shooter.
- “We're running facial recognition on everyone in and around the hospital to see if they match any loose ends from Morgan's abduction.”- JJ announced as I sipped on my coffee. Hotch walked into the room that second. It had taken him an extra fifteen minutes to get there after I was done donating blood, which only meant one thing: whatever Morgan had said to him, got to him.
- “How did he take it?”- Spencer asked what we all knew had happened. Hotch’d face didn’t move when he simply replied
- “As expected.”- and that was all we talked about our friend’s emotional tantrum.
- “Sir, I know that when Morgan was on leave after his abduction, you encouraged him to stay away from the case.”- Garcia started explaining what we had all done behind Hotch and Rossi’s back.
- “And let me guess, he didn't.”- David interrupted her, and we all shook our heads.
- “We all knew in our hearts it wasn't over, and, look, we were right, so in an extra-curricular kind of way we kept sleuthing to see who was working with John Bradley.”- Garcia explained and I looked at Rossi with a shy and almost innocent smile.
- “Everyone needs a hobby, right?”
- “You of all people here have enough going on in her end to add more to her table.”- Rossi argued and Spencer frowned.
- “I helped her.”
- “Getting her pregnant again isn’t helping.”- David joked, and Hotch ignored us as he started talking.
- “Before he came back to work, Morgan said that he'd found a connection between the men who held him at the cabin and the Montolo family.”- Hotch added, looking at Rossi, who seemed lost. Like he never saw coming the fact none of us was going to let Morgan’s kidnap go.
- “Right. So, basically, we're dealing with a big crime family tree, of which Bradley was certainly a branch. And the Montolos had hired him multiple times.”- Garcia added, simply explaining we were obsessed with his case.
- “Did you scan the drawing?”- I asked her and she nodded.
- “Yeah, it's right here.”- at those words, Spencer leaned closer to look at the screen with me.
- “So, has everyone been working on this?”- Rossie asked, surprised.
- “Yeah.”- I said not taking my eyes from the screen.
- “Basically.”- my husband supported me.
- “Kinda.”- Pen added with a shy/busted smile and then she started explaining what we had. - “Ok, with Morgan's research, plus our bad guys/gals tree here, we've cut all the legs off the evil table. So like look… you got assassin mother, father, siblings, all deceased, one aunt in therapy for family trauma, and each line is like that.”
- “Montolo's line's the shortest of them all.”- Spencer pointed out - “The only living child of Chazz and Rosemary Montolo. Rosemary died when Giuseppe was just a boy.”
- “When you thought your family was fucked up…”- I shook my head at my own words, trying to ease the mood ‘cos for the life of me, I can’t deal with so much gravity from time to time.
- “Right. And then Giuseppe went to live with his family in Italy, and Chazz went off to build a criminal empire.”- Pen added. Rossi walked to me and grabbed one of the files.
- “Looks like Chazz Montolo was killed last year.”
- “Yeah, in a bank fire in Germany. Got a positive I.D. On the dental and fingerprints.”- Pen even showed him the newspaper of the fire.
- “One week after his son was murdered. What if that's not a coincidence?”
- “So whoever poisoned the son also killed the father.”- JJ suggested, but I shook my head, reading Hotch’s mind.
- “Or he staged his own death so we wouldn't suspect him of this.”- I said and felt Spencer’s hand resting on my lower back as I spoke, supporting and comforting me.
- “Hey, wait, wait, wait.”- Pen suddenly freaked out and started typing as fast as she could- “I only ran facial recognition on living people for obvious reasons, but this guy right here, walking out of the hospital, this guy, that is… That's Chazz Montolo.”
- “Well done, ma cherie.”- Spencer whispered in my ear and I turned to smile at him for a fraction of a second. We were finally going somewhere.
- “Garcia, play the footage.”- Hotch asked, and a few seconds later, we were all able to watch Montolo senior walking out of the hospital.
- “Mother fucker.”- I whispered thinking that asshole had been there with us in the building.
- “Garcia, contact the city, get access to traffic cameras. Now that we know he's here, we can find out where he went.”- but her phone ringing freaked her out before she could do anything.
- “Oh, wait, Morgan's calling me. I told him I'd keep him in the know before I knew it was an order that he wasn't supposed to know.”
- “All right.”- Hotch sighed and looked at me and my husband. - “Reids, you talk to Morgan. JJ, you and Garcia track Montolo and find out who his accomplices are. He doesn't work alone. Dave, you and I will find potential witnesses who might have seen him on the property.”
And before we could even argue or plan what we were going to tell our friend, we were forced to move and face him.
- “Wait, wait.”- I grab my husband’s sleeve and stop him- “We should get him something.”
- “I don’t think he is hungry.”- Spencer raised an eyebrow as he stared at me.
- “Still. Maybe something to drink to warm him.”
- “You wanna stress him more by adding caffeine to his body?”- he questioned me.
- “Hot chocolate?”
- “He will throw it on our faces.”- Spencer was probably right, but he could read my worry.- “Green tea?”- I nodded and walked to the closest vending machine.
- “Raven must be so angry with us.”- I whispered as I pushed a few buttons on the machine, and a cup with some suspicious-looking tea appeared in front of our eyes.
- “I know.”
- “We are gonna have to deal with her when we get home.”
- “I know…”- Spencer sighed and rubbed his hands against his face, trying to rearrange his thoughts. - "I really can’t deal with that right now.”
- “I know, I’m sorry. I just can’t stop thinking about her and Vinny, and if any of this happened to them, or you.”
- “I understand, ma cherie. So much.”- Spencer moved a step closer and kissed the top of my head.- “But right now we have to focus on helping Morgan. Ok’”- I just nodded and grabbed the cup of tea.
- “Ok.”- I looked at my husband and took a deep breath. I know he was doing his best to keep his head cold and focus on the case- “Alright, let’s do this.”
Morgan was back in the waiting room. He kept pacing, still looking like a madman. But now he was an angry madman. Angry with us ‘cos he knew we were keeping things from him.
- “Were you with Garcia?”- he asked as soon as we walked in.
- “Yeah.”- I replied and tried to smile at him, to maybe calm him down, or make him feel less threatened- “Here, we brought you a green tea.”
- “It won't make you as jittery as coffee.”- Spencer offered the cup to our friend and he grabbed it, but not without reading every single movement the two of us made. It was annoying, Frank was right.
- “You came instead of Garcia because you know I'd be able to read her.”- Morgan didn’t ask, it was a fact.
- “That is correct.”- Spencer nodded and whispered.
- “And Hotch sent you both here to see if I'm stable.”
- “He didn't say that, but…”- my husband made a pause and I just sighed.
- “Let’s say we were the chosen ones ‘cos Hotch trusted we could read you, and if you were too angry at him, we wouldn’t take it personally in case you’d yell.”- I couldn’t lie to Morgan, so I didn’t. He nodded and didn’t even try to say he wouldn’t yell. It felt good to know we were above that bullshit.
- “I don't get jittery.”- of everything we said, that was what Morgan wanted to point out. Why? I don’t know. Maybe that was an insult in his mind. He moved to the other corner of the room and left the tea on a little table Food, he wasn’t going to throw it in our faces.
- “Usually you don't, but your carotid tells a different story.”- Spencer started rambling- “I've counted 10 heartbeats in the last 3 seconds. That's about 20% higher than your usual when you're under stress.”- his voice was soft and almost shaky. My husband was nervous and worried. Scared.
- “I know you're only trying to protect me, I get it, but knock it off.”- Morgan nearly yelled, annoyed with his speech- “I just want to know what you've learned.”
- “Seriously, Derek. You know we can’t tell you.”- I sighed and shook my head.- “So don’t take it with us. We are just trying to help.”
- “If you were trying to help you’d tell me what the hell is going on”
- “We are doing our fucking best. That’s what’s going on.”
I know we didn’t plan it, but Spencer and I were doing the old “good cop, bad cop routine.” And I was the bad cop. Again.
- “When you first told me about Savannah, I'd never seen you like that.”- my husband started talking and his voice was still soft and sweet, trying to keep it together. - “The decreased levels of central serotonin in your brain cause intrusive thinking. When I finally saw you guys together, that's when I knew for sure. Your pupils dilated, your posture changed, and I saw you involuntarily reach for her hand. Science confirmed it. You've found the one.”- Morgan stared at him, speechless. - “Do you believe that?”
- “Yes.”- Derek replied, not an inch of hesitation in his voice.
- “Then believe this. Our team loves you, and we are not going to stop until we find whoever did this. But we can only do that with a completely dispassionate and unprejudiced point of view. Paternal instinct is a deadly bias that we just can't risk. It's for your protection, Morgan, I swear.”
- “Ok.” - Derek answered coldly, though you could almost hear the cogs in his brain going a hundred miles an hour.
- “You would do it for us, wouldn’t you?”- I asked him, and Morgan raised both eyebrows- “If we were you and you were us, you would try to keep us away from the information. Try to keep us calm. We did it with Kate when her niece was taken. Hotch and JJ did it for us when he pretended Em was dead. We did it for Garcia when the Dirty Dozen was trying to kill her. We’ve all done it. ‘Cos that’s what families do, they protect each other.”
- “The unsub is a father, isn't he?”- Morgan ignored my speech and looked right into Spencer’s eyes.
- “Why do you say that?”- my husband lied between his teeth as Morgan analyzed every single one of our movements.
- “A paternal instinct is a deadly bias? Those were your exact words.”
- “I meant… we are both fathers…”- Spencer was nearly sweating and I didn’t know how to help him.
- “I know what you meant. But that's what you said.”- Morgan stared at us, and neither of us said another word. So he simply walked away from us.
- “Shit, shit, shit.”- Spencer whispered and closed his eyes.
- “It’s ok, honey. We both knew it wasn’t going to be easy. And we would be the same under these sick circumstances.”
- “I know, I just…”- Spencer bit his lips as tears filled his eyes.- “I wish there was more we could do. He doesn’t deserve this.”
- “Who does?”- I held his hand and gave it a soft squeeze.- “You did well. It’s just hard keeping things from a profiler.”
- “He is my brother. And someone hurt his unborn child and wife. And all I can do is tell him things will be ok.”
- “We can help him, but he has to trust us.”- my phone ended our conversation. It was my mom, which only meant one thing: Raven’s presentation was over. And she knew we weren’t there.
- “Hello?”- I whispered and closed my eyes.
- “Mama…”- it was worse than my mom. It was Raven.
- “Hey there, birdy. How was the recital? Did you have fun?”- Spencer moved closer and I put our daughter on speaker. - “I’m with your dad at work. We are both so sorry we couldn’t be there today, Raven.”
- “Emma says I don’t have a mom or a dad.”- Raven was crying, and my heart broke as soon as I heard her.
- “What? Why?”- I knew Emma, she was three and a half years old, but that night, I wanted to kill that brat. I’m not proud about it.
- “You are never there.”- Raven wept and all I managed to do was hold Spencer’s hand as I turned to him. His tears ran down his face as he tried to get himself together.
- “I’m so sorry, Birdy. But we have to get the bad guys.”- my voice shook at the end of the sentence.
- “Why is it always you? Why can't Uncle Derek do it?”
- “Oh, Birdy”- Spencer mumbled and took a deep breath, trying to get himself together.- “We are helping Uncle Morgan right now get the bad guys.”
- “I just wanted to sing for you.”- Raven kept sobbing. - “Why don’t you love me?”
- “Raven Marie, we love you so much.”- I managed to say before I broke into tears. I hid my face in Spencer’s chest as he continued talking.
- “Your mom and I are very sorry we couldn’t be there today. We promise we’ll make it up to you.”- Raven didn’t reply, instead we heard my mother’s voice on the other side of the line.
- “I’m sorry kids. She wanted to talk to you.”
- “Thank you for taking care of her, Sofia.”- Spencer managed to say. I know he was trying to be strong, but honestly, both our hearts were broken.
- “Frank and Milkey came along. We are having ice cream and then I’m gonna take her home.”
- “We’ll pick her up as soon as we are done here.”- Spencer added.
- “Take care, kids. I know you are doing the best you can. And she will see that when she is old enough.”
- “Thank you, mom.”- I whispered and tried not to sob too hard.- “We’ll call you later, ok?”
- “Sure, peanut. Love you.”- I couldn’t talk anymore. I just broke into tears one more time as Spencer hung up and placed the phone in my pocket.
- “It’s ok, ma cherié”
- “It’s not ok. This is what I always hated about my dad’s job. This is what I swore to myself at ten years old I was never going to put my babies through!”- I sobbed against his sweater, feeling like the worst mother on earth. The sound of Raven’s cries on the other side of the phone had been way too much for me to deal with, especially considering what was going on.
- “This is wrong.”- I murmured and tried to put myself together. - “We don’t have time for this now. Derek needs us.”
- “It’s gonna be ok.” Spencer whispered as he wrapped his arms around me tightly. - “We are not going to miss any more recitals. And she is going to forgive us. She knows we are doing this to help other people.”
- “Spencer, she is about to be four, she doesn’t have to understand this. She needs her dad and mom.”- my husband kissed the top of my head and sighed.
Spencer’s point of view
The night Morgan became a dad was the night I understood he was going to leave us. My wife had pointed it out a few times before that, trying to prepare me for that moment, but I didn’t want to believe it. I thought we were going to be a team forever. But he had a new team. One that was more important than anything else.
It made me feel I was a lousy father for a moment. He was quitting to make sure his wife and kid were alright. It was something I had thought of many times until that day, but I had never found the guts to do it. I couldn’t blame him, though. He had been through hell and back.
Meanwhile, I kept overanalyzing everything that had happened that day, hell was waiting for us when we picked up our kids from Sofia’s house. Raven had refused to sleep and also refused to talk to us. Vinny was fast asleep when (Y/N) held him in her arms and kissed his forehead. Sofia offered us something to eat, but we just wanted to get home and get some rest. It had been an eternal day, and seeing our daughter’s teary eyes and hardened face made it even worse.
- “I don’t wanna.”- she argued right away as I tried to pick her up. Raven kept fidgeting every time my hands tried to reach her.
- “Come on, baby. We have to go home. Don’t you wanna go to bed? We can have a special breakfast tomorrow.”- I offered her, but she hid behind Sofia and started whimpering.
- “No! I don’t love you!”
- “Birdy, you don’t mean that.”- I whispered as I knelt closer to her. She stayed behind Sofia’s legs and refused to even look at me. Her eyes were filled with tears and I could see her struggling to both stay awake and not to cry. It was heartbreaking.
- “Raven Marie, we talked about this.”- Sofia moved and took my daughter in her arms carefully.- “Your mom and dad had to work tonight and they couldn’t go to your recital, but they still love you very much.”
But our daughter ignored my words, (Y/N)’s words, and her grandma’s words. Instead, she decided to give us the silent treatment and ignore us all the way back home.
(Y/N) made us some tea after she put Vinny in his crib, and I was struggling with Raven’s bedtime. She didn’t speak but refused to brush her teeth and put on her pajamas.
- “Birdy, I know you are upset. And you have all the right to be mad at me and your mom.”- I whispered as I sat on her bed and put my hands on her shoulders, trying to make sure she was paying me attention.- “But you have to know your momma and I were helping Uncle Derek. No one is more important than you, but when someone needs our help, we can’t turn our back on them.”
Raven refused to look at me, but at least she got into bed. I read her a short bedtime story, kissed her cheek, and wished her a good night before I left the room.
- “How is she?”- my wife asked as I walked into our room. She was already in bed, sipping her lavender tea.
- “Still angry.”- I untied my tie, left it on a chair, and unbuttoned my shirt before falling on our bed.- “She didn’t say a word.”
- “And she is just three… I don’t wanna think of our lives when our girl is a teenager.”- (Y/N) cut me a short mile, but it was clear she was trying to make lights off of what was happening.
- “I’m glad we still have a few more years until then, ma cheriè.”
We both stayed quiet for a moment. I grabbed the cup of herbal tea my wife had left on my bedside table and took a long sip.
- “Am I a bad mother?”- her whisper broke the silence and made me whip my head immediately.
- “You are not. Of course, you are not.”- I held her hand and kissed it, as tears fell from her cheeks.
- “We broke her heart, and she is three years old.”
- “She will forgive us.”
- “But how do I forgive myself?”- my wife broke into tears and I wrapped my arms around her, sitting her on my lap. I wanted to be strong for her, I wanted to find the right words to make her feel better. But I had nothing, ‘cos honestly, I was feeling very low.
- “Maybe we should quit.”- it was the first time one of us had said it out loud. I froze at her words. I didn’t see it coming. But my wife had been brave enough to say the words that had haunted my mind so many times.
- “Quit?”- I asked, half shocked, half confused. - “Morgan is gonna leave, what will do the team without us?”
- “What will our kids do without us?”
And I didn’t know what to reply to that.
- “Mommy…”- Raven’s voice ended that conversation, or the start of it. She stood at our door holding the stuffed unicorn Mikey had given her.
- “What is it, birdy?”- (Y/N) asked, sitting on our bed, whipping the tears from her face quickly.- “Did you have a bad dream?”
Raven shook her head as she walked slowly toward the bed. Her big brown eyes were filled with tears, and she kept biting her lower lip, the same way her mother always does when she is nervous.
- “Do you wanna sleep with us tonight, birdy?”- (Y/N) whispered and tapped on the bed. Our daughter nodded but didn’t move from the spot she was standing at. My wife stood up and took a few steps until she stood in front of Raven, kneeled, and opened her arms to our daughter, who nearly ran to her and wrapped her arms around her neck, sobbing.
- “I’m sorry mommy”
- “It’s ok, baby. I’m sorry too.”
It was such a moving scene tears fell from my eyes as I stared at my wife and daughter hugging as they lay on our bed. I scooted closer to them and wrapped an arm around them, kissing Raven’s cheek and (Y/N)’s temple.
- “Your mommy and I love you so much.”- I whispered and watched our daughter sob a few times before she fell asleep on (Y/N)’s warm chest.
Neither of us said another word after that. We just laid with her on our bed, Vinny sleeping peacefully on his crib near us. I wanted to put a bubble around us all and never let anything hurt us.
I didn’t know it back then, but the only way I could do that was by quitting the BAU.
The following week, Morgan came back to the BAU for the last time. We all knew he was leaving, Hotch had told us. But it was still hard for all of us to deal with what it meant losing him in our team. In our daily basics.
When we walked to the bullpen’s door, I saw Morgan hugging JJ and I knew what was happening next. I knew he was there to say goodbye. It was going to be our last time there, and I didn’t feel I was ready to face it. So I left (Y/N) standing there alone and ran away to the meeting room.
Chicken much? Yeah, I know. But everyone knows I am not a fan of changes, and that day was especially hard for me. I was losing my brother. It wasn’t just another profiler leaving. It was my best friend we were talking about. And I was happy for him, of course I was. He got everything he ever wanted. It was just hard dealing with the guilt of not being as brave as him and doing the same for my family.
But of course, I wasn’t ready to deal with that truth just yet.
- “I know you hate goodbyes kid. And change.”- Morgan found me and walked into the room, facing the issue upfront. I wasn’t expecting anything less from him. I turned to face him, my eyes already filling with tears, and he cut me a warm smile, knowing how hard it was for me.
- “Hey. It isn't always a bad thing.”- he added- “And you’ve been getting better at dealing with changes. At least with changing diapers.”- I chuckle at those words. I liked the fact we could keep that conversation closer to the fun side because it was too painful to deal with.
- “You are gonna be better.”- I whispered and he smiled.
- “Only ‘cos I learned from the best.”- Morgan added and we both stayed in silence for a few seconds. Everything about saying goodbye to my best friend hurt. So I sighed loudly and finally accepted the truth.
- “I just can't imagine this room without you.”
- “So don't. Don't think about it.”- Morgan quickly answered, still smiling. - “Just know I'm always gonna be by your side. I'm just a phone call away.”
- “I know. Raven won’t let you go either. She loves Sunday brunch with you and Savannah.”- we both smiled for a moment, but tears quickly threatened to fall again.
- “I'm sorry I can't stay.”- Morgan apologized and I shook my head right away.
- “I don't want you to stay.”- I quickly replied thinking I wasn’t sure I wanted to stay either, but I also wasn’t ready to deal with that just yet.- “Because I know why you're leaving and I couldn't be happier for you.”- I simply looked at him with a smile, because I honestly didn’t want him to feel guilty about leaving. Still, his eyes watered up as he took a step closer and grabbed something from his back pocket
- “Listen, we were gonna mail these, but I wanted you to have a birth announcement first.”- he opened the envelope and handed the announcement. I didn’t know what to say or how to react to it. So I just read it out loud, feeling a knot in my throat.
- “Hank Spencer Morgan.”- my voice broke as I stared at the picture of baby Hank in my hands. I couldn’t stop smiling as I looked at it. It was the sweetest gesture. It was more than I deserved. My best friend had named his baby after me. What had I done in life to deserve that much love from him?
- “Yeah. Hank is for my pops. But Spencer is for the best little brother anybody could ever ask for.”- his words were too much, and before I knew it I was sobbing. Morgan wrapped his arms around me and tapped on my back as he whispered.
- “I love you, kid.”
- “I love you.”- I replied knowing he was doing the right thing. It was just too painful to deal with how it felt at the moment. But it was meant to happen.
- “So, look, my little dude, he's gonna need a favorite uncle. To teach him everything he knows about life. And chess.”- Morgan chuckled at his words and I nodded smiling.
- “I can do that.”
- “I know you can.”
- “Which reminds me, I’m gonna need you to teach me how to play soccer, so I can teach Vinny eventually.”- my answer made him laugh.
It was comforting knowing Morgan was leaving the team, but he wasn’t leaving my life. That was a big change. We weren’t going to stop meeting, he wasn’t walking out of my life. He was just taking a step back from work and focusing on his family. The
MASTERLIST
It had been a long day.
As you closed the car door behind you, you could feel your arms ache, causing you to stretch them as you walked towards the front door.
You’d think after such a hard day that you’d come home to complete relaxation, letting your mind take a break as you slump on the couch.
But unfortunately, it seemed that wouldn’t be the case.
As you opened the door, you were greeted with the reminder that you still had several chores to do.
Since you lived alone, you set up your own reminder system to help you remember to do chores.
And unfortunately, this was one of those days.
It had been about a week since you vacuumed, and practically two weeks since you dusted, and that doesn’t even begin with your laundry as well!
You got this.
You groaned as you took off your shoes by the door, hanging your coat up on the rack next to you before moving to the kitchen to grab a snack before you started cleaning up.
That was when you noticed the sink.
Your dishwasher had broken about a week ago, letting countless dishes and utensils pile up within the basin.
Hiring a repairman? Washing the dishes? Just two more things to add to your already dreadful day. You didn’t have time for a snack just yet.
You could feel your head already begin to bubble up with thoughts, starting to overthink everything you had to do as you approached the storage closet.
Just breathe. You can do this.
You took a deep breath in, your shoulders rising and falling along with you.
As you grabbed the handle of your vacuum, ready to begin cleaning, your bad luck seemed to double.
The handle broke off. As soon as you grabbed it, the cheap piece of plastic simply popped off without hesitation.
That was it.
You couldn’t help what happened next.
Within seconds, you fell to the floor, curling up into a ball with your face in your hands, bawling.
Irene oh why did life have to test you so.
Your cries were muffled by your legs as you folded up, pulling at your hair. You couldn’t deal with all of this right now. First you were running around outside getting groceries and your medication from Walgreens, the next you came home to everything being out of order?
Everything was against you.
At some point, you couldn’t even tell just how long you were sitting on the ground until the doorbell rang.
Apparently, life decided to make things even worse by having someone wait at your door.
Great.
Just great.
Your legs shaked as you slowly stood up, wiping the tears from your cheeks, hoping whoever was there wouldn’t notice.
After making your way to the door, your shaking hands slowly opened it, revealing a smiley Travis with a plastic bag in his hands.
His grin was almost as blinding as the rays of sun behind him.
“Hey! I thought I’d stop by to see how my Lovely was doing-” He stopped mid-sentence as he processed your disheveled appearance, a frown quickly growing on his face. “What’s wrong?” You tried to keep yourself in check, holding back your tears, but the worried look on his face? Nothing could hold you back anymore.
You sniffled once before rushing in to hug him, tightly squeezing, surprising the man.
As you stuffed your face into his chest, hiding your face from him, he slowly led you inside your house, closing the door behind him before the two of you sat on your couch.
You groaned into his chest, just letting your tears fall freely as he held you close. He played with your hair, carefully moving it out of your face and tucking it behind your ear, before patting your head while softly shushing you.
The two of you just sat there for a while, allowing you to release all your anger and anxiety through your tears as he hugged you.
Your boyfriend always was the best at comforting you when you needed it most.
As it seemed your tears were stopping, and you were left hiccuping, you moved back to look up at Travis, apologizing rapidly.
“Hey, hey, there’s no need to apologize. You didn’t do anything wrong.” He slowly rubbed your back as he softly spoke. “Do you think you can tell me what’s bothering you?” You slowly nodded as you began to tell him all about what happened today, and how your anxiety was through the roof with it all. You felt like you were losing your mind.
He hummed as you recounted the events prior to your crying.
“I can help you out with it all if you’d like, we can face it all together!” He smiled as pumped his fist into the air, before kissing you on the forehead. “You know you can always just reach out if you need help, alright? I’ll always be here.”
You nodded with a smile. He was right, you had someone in your life who cared about you, someone to rely on. You can’t forget that.
But you couldn’t help but slowly turn to the plastic bag sitting next to Travis' curiosity. What was in it?
He picked it up, opening it to show you the abundance of snacks he had brought along with him.
“A little bunch of presents I decided to get you during the day.” He chuckled, cupping your face in his palm, letting his thumb trace the tear stains on your cheeks.
“But before we get started on those chores, how about a snack, okay?”
Daddy Cupid
Modern!Various One Piece Men X Reader
-When your father grows weary of your single life, he takes it upon himself to play matchmaker. With him knowing the entire city, he embarks on a mission to find you the perfect match.
Chapter 1: Cupid's Bow
You sat alone in your cozy apartment, the dim evening light casting long shadows on the walls. Typing on your computer, paying no mind to your surroundings, each passing minute was marked by the distant ticking of your wall clock. The silence was broken only by the occasional honk of a car horn from the street below.
A sudden buzz interrupted your work, and you sighed as you picked up your phone. It was another message from your father, a message you had been dreading all day. "When are you going to settle down?" it read, the words in bold and accompanied by a string of emojis, including hearts, wedding rings, and not-so-subtle hints at grandchildren.
You rolled your eyes, knowing that your dad's matchmaking mission was about to kick into high gear again. You love your father dearly, but his obsession with finding you a husband had reached legendary status in the city.
Leaning back in your chair, you gazed out the window at the cityscape beyond. Grand Line, the bustling city you had called home for as long as you could remember, stretched out before you. Its streets were filled with endless possibilities and countless bachelors, all waiting to be vetted by your father.
But you weren't quite ready to dive into the world of love and commitment. At thirty, you were content with your career, your independence, and your circle of friends. Marriage and settling down seemed like a distant future, one you weren't in a hurry to embrace.
Figuring your dad, and you yourself, would appreciate coffee before another session of nagging and proposing potential husbands, you went over to the coffee shop close by.
Figuring your dad was not going to leave you alone, you shut your computer down and got up. Yawning and stretching, you walked to your closet to get changed. You opted for a plain white t-shirt, distressed blue jeans, and comfortable sneakers. As you stepped out of your apartment and onto the bustling city streets, the vibrant energy of Grand Line unfolded before you, promising another day of adventures and surprises.
Your dad held a high position in the city, his name known through out the city. He had dedicated his life to various community initiatives, charity work, and local businesses, earning the admiration and trust of both young and old. His presence in the city was like a reassuring anchor, and despite the city's considerable size, it felt like a small, interconnected town where everyone's lives were intertwined in some way.
"Hey, Law. Good morning!"
Trafalgar Water Law, or simply "Law" as he preferred to be called, is a part-timer at the neighborhood coffee shop. Despite his perpetually tired appearance and the assortment of tattoos that adorned his arms, Law was a young man who defied expectations. Law had ambitions to study medicine in college, a path that seemed entirely unfitting for his appearance.
"Dad's favorite and my usual, please. Thank you," you say, offering a warm smile.
Pressing the items on his cashier monitor, Law efficiently processes your order and writes your name on the cup.
"Grandpa Rayleigh came over a while ago," Law speaks up as he begins crafting your coffee.
You can't help but grumble inwardly, fully aware of the purpose of the visit. Law was adopted by one of the most powerful families in the city, the Donquixote family. Doflamingo and Rosinante Donquixote were two of your father's potential sons-in-law.
"Please tell me that your dad was the one home... please," you implored Law with a hint of desperation in your voice.
"No," Law replied with a sympathetic shake of his head.
You took a deep breath and screamed silently, clenching your fist in frustration. It seemed like everyone preferred Rosinante, Law's adoptive father, and honestly, you couldn't blame them. Rosinante had always been kind, considerate, and genuinely caring. He had a warmth that drew people in, including you.
On the other hand, Doflamingo was a completely different story. As much as he might excel in his role as a family person, he was a crazy and obnoxious individual. He embodied the stereotypical rich bully, and from elementary school through high school, he had made your life miserable. You had no idea why your dad considered him a candidate for marriage, and the thought of being tied to someone like him sent shivers down your spine.
Law hands you your two coffees, and you accept them with a sense of resignation before making your way out of the coffee shop.
"Y/N!!" A child's voice calls out, and you inwardly sigh, thinking your day couldn't possibly get any worse. Turning around, you see Shanks with his wide grin. Beside him were three children: Zoro, Usopp, and Luffy.
"Sweetheart!!" Shanks starts to come toward you, ready to wrap his arms around you in a warm embrace, but you extend your arm and gently push him away. Instead, you kneel down to Luffy's level.
"Hey, kids~ Do you need help? Why are you with him?" You smile sweetly at the three youngsters, curious about their presence with Shanks. "Did he take you away?"
Shanks grins broadly and attempts to charm you. His hand on his chest presenting a faux offended look. "My love, I can't believe you'd think that!! I'm just being a nice citizen here, and I'm bringing these brats home! Aren't you falling for how great I am yet?" He bats his lashes, trying to win you over.
Usopp points at Shanks, "He was drinking with Dad, and they lost us."
"SHUT IT YOU BRAT!!!" It seems like the day's events had been just as chaotic for Usopp and the others as they were for you.
You hit Shanks on the head with a glare, your frustration evident. "Take them home and tell Yasopp to stop drinking or else!"
With a huff, you turn and stomp away, ignoring Shanks' calls as you make your way back to your initial destination. The events of the day had left you exasperated, and you needed some peace and solitude to clear your mind.
You arrive at your dad's place, already exhausted from the day's events. However, your frustration only deepens when you find him drinking with his friends Oden, Roger, and Edward.
"Hey, Dad," you say with crossed arms, glaring at the group. "Can you three go back home? None of you guys should be drinking."
Edward laughs heartily and gets up, stumbling over to you. He puts his arm on your shoulder and pulls you closer, his words slurred, "I have a son around your age. Gurararrara! Rayleigh told me you're looking for someone! I ca-"
Before he can finish his sentence, you interrupt him, your patience running thin. "Edward, go home. We can discuss this when you're sober." You give him a stern look, hoping he'd take your advice seriously.
Edward smirks and exclaims, "I'll tell my son to pick me up! Gurarara!!!!" His laughter rings through the room, and you can't help but shake your head at the drunken antics of your father's friends. Dealing with their overzealous matchmaking attempts was becoming a routine you'd rather do without.
Roger, clearly affected by the alcohol, sobs and clings onto your dad. "My son is 10... I want Y/N as my daughter-in-law too!! Rayleighhhh!" he exclaims, his emotions running wild as he joins in on the matchmaking fervor. You roll your eyes at the absurdity of it all, feeling like you're stuck in a never-ending loop of potential suitors.
"Ooh! Ooh!! What about my son!!" Oden cheers enthusiastically.
You grumble in exasperation, "Oden, your son is 16."
"It's close to your age!!" Oden insists, seemingly undeterred by the age difference. "Aren't you like 17 or something?"
"ODEN, I'M 30!!! Can you three drunkards please just go home!" You sigh defeatedly, feeling the weight of the matchmaking chaos weighing heavily on you.
You sigh with relief as you successfully manage to drag the drunk grown men out of the house and usher them into a cab that you've hailed. With the chaos outside resolved, you return to find your father slumped in the living room, going through his phone. You take a moment to clean up the mess they've made, trying to regain some semblance of order.
Your dad suddenly strikes up a conversation, "How was your date with Linlin's son?"
You shake your head and reply, "That date with Cracker is never happening again." The memory of that disastrous date still lingers vividly in your mind, making it clear that some potential suitors were better off left in the past. "Our deal was if I went on that date you'd leave me alone, remember dad?"
Your dad continues to express his concerns, lamenting, "I know, dear, but what am I supposed to do? You're 30 years old and single. How am I going to have grandchildren this way? I need at least 3 of them, you know!"
"Dad, I'll figure it out, please," you implore, feeling the weight of his expectations pressing on you.
"What about that clown? His circus is booming from what I heard. You grew up with him," your dad suggests, trying to be helpful.
You shake your head firmly, saying, "I'm not dating Buggy, Dad. C'mon, can't you just leave my relationships to meeee?"
He persists, "I would if you just go on a date with that Donquixote boy. Or Shanks, I hear he's doing great."
"Doflamingo is crazy. And Shanks is dating practically the whole city," you counter, exasperated by the suggestions.
Your dad's matchmaking attempts continue as he suggests, "What about that boy you used to like? The one that's in the National Kendo team."
"D-Dad, I liked Mihawk back in college! And he has two kids!" you exclaim, trying to put an end to this.
"And no wife!!" your dad interjects, clearly undeterred.
With your patience wearing thin, you warn him, "If you don't stop naming everyone, I'm gonna leave you to clean up yourself."
Your dad continues his relentless matchmaking efforts, suggesting, "What about just one date with Edward's boy? Hmm? What'dya say? Do it for your dad, c'mon. This'll be the last one, I swear."
You raise an eyebrow and reply skeptically, "You said that about Cracker. And also Kuro. And also King, not to mention Crocodile."
He tries to defend himself, "You dated that Croco-boy back then, though!"
"Yeah, so you'd get off my back!" you retort, the frustration evident in your voice as you remind him of your past attempts to appease his matchmaking desires.
Grumbling and realizing your dad wasn't going to stop his matchmaking efforts, you finally sighed in defeat. "Fine, I'll go out with Edward's boy! But you have to swear this is the last one!"
"Fine, fine, fine! I'll text Edward," your dad agreed, somewhat reluctantly.
"Swear on Mom, Dad," you insisted firmly. He flinched and looked at you, hesitating. You crossed your arms and raised an eyebrow, waiting for his response.
"Do we have to involve your mom?" he asked, trying to avoid the commitment.
"I'm moving to Calm Belt if you don't stop," you threatened, not willing to back down.
"FINE! I swear! But if you end up not ruining the date on purpose, I'm gonna keep pestering you," he reluctantly agreed, realizing he had no other option but to give in to your demand.
🥀🖤🌹
You rushed out of the crowded bar and made your way to the empty rooftop.
Finally, you had space to breathe.
You were overlooking the flashy city lights and wondered if life would ever get better.
You were so engulfed with the busy thoughts in your mind that you didn’t even notice the goosebumps forming on your skin.
All you could focus on was that ugly feeling in your chest.
The one that made you feel hollow and empty.
You placed your flat palms over your heart, trying to soothe yourself.
Unfortunately, healing the black hole in your core wasn’t as easy as some light touch though.
Your eyes started to burn; tears were already piling up behind them, but you fought against it.
You had cried over the same thing over and over and over – what was the point of crying once more?
What was the point of trying once more?
The rooftop’s door hastily flung open as Minho made its way to you.
“Y/N!”, he shouted agitated.
“Why the fuck are you up here? All by yourself?”
His voice was worried.
You turned around to face him – his beautiful features were laced with concern.
Was it because of you?
“I had to escape, Min.”
Quickly, he came closer while tacking off his jacket.
He placed it over your shoulders and hugged you from behind.
“What happened?”, he asked quietly.
Against your will, tears started to spill, and you felt yourself tense up. “It’s okay. You can talk to me, y/n.”
The shame in your heart made it hard to form words.
You tried to focus on Minho’s chin on your shoulder, the weight of his skull digging into your delicate skin.
His large hands were laced over your stomach, holding you safely in place. Being close to him like this wasn’t unusual for the both of you – everyone knew how special you were to one other.
You knew each other since kindergarten, after all.
“You know it’s only me, y/n. You can tell me anything, right?”, he whispered softly.
You nodded your head, while looking down at his hands.
He was right – he was your biggest supporter after all.
“Do you remember the last guy I briefly dated?”
You felt him tense up instantly.
“The one you went on a date with and stayed the night at his hotel?”
“Yeah, that one.”
“What about him?”
You took a deep breath before re-living what had just happened.
“I was getting a drink with my friend, and he is working the bar tonight. So naturally, we stayed a little bit longer at the bar. You know…”
You felt beyond stupid to say it out loud. I was staying a little longer, so he could notice me and give me attention. And love. How pathetic.
Minho knew you like the back of his hand, so he got what you were implying quickly. It pained him that you still acted like that – begging for a motherfucker’s validation instead of realizing how amazing you truly were.
“Did he notice you?”
“Yeah.”
The sadness oozing from you was heartbreaking.
“What happened?”
“We chatted for a while and then he took out pen and paper.”
“At a bar?”, Minho chuckled.
“Yeah, he started writing a letter or something and when he was done, he gave that letter to my friend.”
Minho’s eyes widened in surprise. “Your friend?”
Silently, you nodded.
“She read it and got really angry. I saw her crumple up that piece of paper and throw it against him while spatting into his face… Something about how disgusting he was.”
You didn’t see his face, but you could tell that his eyes were narrowing and shooting daggers. Minho always got angry when others disrespected you, always ready to beat them up.
“What happened then?”
You stayed silent.
“What happened then, y/n?”, Minho urged you to answer.
Your body started shaking, representing your fragile state of mind. Minho noticed too and hugged you tighter, sharing his body warmth with you.
“I fished the letter out from behind the bar and read what was on it. Turns out it wasn’t a letter but a list.”
“A list?”
Your heart was pounding out of your chest by now.
“A list of all my flaws, so to say.”
“What?”, he shouted in agitation.
Your body collapsed inwardly, too ashamed to bear it all. Yet, each attack against you burned itself into your soul.
“Y/N is too fat – she needs to lose some weight. Y/N needs some confidence, she legit has no self-worth. Y/N isn’t that great in bed, I definitely fucked better.”
You felt Minho’s heart beat quickly, too quickly, and decided to stop. You only mentioned three points, but that list had a lot more to offer.
A lot more.
You felt his hands untangle from your stomach as you heard him declare that he was going to kill that bastard.
“No”, you gripped his hands tightly.
Minho stopped, confused, but respectful of your wish.
“You don’t want me to beat him up?”
You shook your head and turned around to face him.
He was agitated, breathing heavily, and shooting daggers at anything and everything.
Anything but you.
“Y/N, I don’t understand. You want to protect that dickhead? After all that he put you through?”
You flinched at his words as all the past actions came back into your mind.
The wonderful first date and passionate night.
The realization that all of that was based on lies.
The countless times he messaged you when he was bored.
The countless times he ignored you.
The countless times you felt like a pawn that was pushed mercilessly on the battlefield of love.
You didn’t want to protect him per se – you’d rather wanted to be done with feeling like this.
“Min, will there ever be an end to this?”
He furrowed his brows, wondering what you were referring to.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m just sick and tired of feeling like this. All the love that’s out there is just fake. Is that my destiny?”
Compassion formed on his face.
“You think love is fake?”
“How could I not?”, you chuckled cynically.
“Every time I fall for someone, he lets me down. I fall flat on my face, but shouldn’t I be caught? Caught in love, Min?”
He cleared his throat, nervously trying to find the right words.
“Sometimes I do believe that you don’t want that, y/n.”
“Huh?”, you asked confused.
Minho took your hands into his and started explaining himself.
“I’ve known you for a very long time and if there’s one thing that I know about you for sure, it’s your expectancy to be let down. You don’t encounter those dickheads for nothing, y/n. You purposefully choose them.”
He took a step closer, while you took a step back. Your back was pressed against the grid now, making it impossible to get away from him.
“You are so afraid of love being fake, that you deliberately look for people that can prove you right. But you are also ignoring the ones being there for you, providing you security and…”
Minho leaned forward and pressed his soft lips onto yours, slightly and cautiously.
“Love.”
You looked at him with eyes wide open, not understanding what had just happened.
“I’ve loved you for all my life, y/n but you were never ready. I’m not sure if you’re ready now but I can’t hold back anymore.”
He deeply gazed into your eyes and caressed your cheek with his hand.
“When you’re finally ready to fall and be caught… you know, in love, I’ll be here. Find me then.”
Minho placed another kiss on your forehead and turned around, leaving you alone on this empty rooftop.
You watched him leave in bewilderment, too shocked to process the last couple of minutes.
Like a reflex, your index finger traced over your lips while thinking of his.
“Find me then”, you whispered.
Would you?
Anything For The Club: Part Five
Will you betray Jax to protect The Club?
series masterlist
[description]: jax teller x female reader, reader x oc characters
[wordcount]: 3.3k+
[series cw]: 18+ minors do not interact! female reader, swearing, sexual harassment/assault (non-canon characters), alcohol use, mix of fluff, smut and angst throughout, p in v sex, teasing, violence, gun use, mentions of blood, murder, blackmail
[authors note]: this series is nearing its end and this has definitely been my favourite part to write so far.. let me know if you would like to be tagged in part six! :)
When you woke up, Jax’s side of the bed was empty. There was a note scribbled for you on the side table, ‘At the Clubhouse if you need me’. For the first time ever, you were grateful he was gone. It was too hard lying to Jax.
You decided it was best to pull yourself together and head to Diosa. You spent some time searching for the sexy dress The President had demanded. You settled on a long sleeve black mini dress, just short enough to do while still covering your modesty up top. You paired it with some strappy black heels and the largest leather jacket you owned. It was Jax’s old jacket, one he had worn when The Club’s cuttes were banned in Charming for a period of time. You loved the way it was just the right amount of oversized, and he melted at the sight each time you wore it. It felt like it was shielding you, aiding somewhat in knowing that you’d just dressed up for your blackmailer.
As you brushed your hair, something stopped you at the vanity. You placed the hairbrush on the surface and began searching the lower drawer. You pulled out a small handgun that Jax left there for emergencies. You had never needed it before, and though you were hoping you wouldn’t today, something told you it was best to have it nearby. You checked the clip, noting every bullet was in its place before you shoved the thick metal piece inside the jacket pocket. You checked yourself out in the mirror. While it looked as if you had nothing on you, the weight of the gun felt like it could drag you to the floor. You took one last look at yourself in the mirror, and debated if it was time to call Jax and find some kind of release from the torturous decision you were about to make. The urge to get your phone out was overwhelming, but then you remembered the threat from yesterday, Or your pretty President is going away for a long time.
Once you got to Diosa and greeted the girls on the desk, the magnitude of what you were about to do was creeping on you. The knowledge of what today may bring was crushing on your conscience like a ton of bricks. Protect The Club. Protect Jax. It was all you kept repeating in your mind as you went through the motions.
You were busy behind the bar when you heard the phone ring at the front desk. Your heart jolted as you prepared yourself for the reality of who was on the other side of it. Sofia answered the phone, before she called over to you behind the bar, “It’s for you, y/n.”
You knew it was him again. You felt stiff from the panic, but you knew that you had to speak to him again. You forced your legs to move beneath you, approaching Sofia and taking the phone from her hand.
You took a deep breath before holding it to your ear.
“Yes?”
“You ready for me, pretty lady?” His voice was eager and disturbing all at once.
“What time?”
He paused before he replied, “You’ve got one hour”, and the phone line dropped.
You placed the phone back on the holder, and beelined for your office. You burst through the door so harshly that it banged against the wall as it flew open. You paused when you realised Nero was waiting for you on the leather couch that sat across from your desk.
“You in a rush for something?”
Fuck.
“Gotta go meet Jax.”
“We need to talk about last night.”
You shuffled to your desk, taking your jacket off and tossing it over the back of your chair.
“I don’t have time now Nero”, you had to think of a reason why quickly, “I gotta get to the clubhouse.”
“Mandy told me about some letter we got. That phone call last night, that was the Vagos crew, wasn’t it?”
You didn’t respond, trying to ignore him as you tore through the drawers of your desk, pulling out an old cheque book.
“Please just let me figure this out, Nero.”
He cocked his head at you before he stood from the couch, coming closer and placing both his hands on your shoulders. He looked at the cheque book in your hands before he zeroed in on your face. His fingers dug into your skin beneath your dress, desperate to get through to you.
Nero was staring, pulling back at your charade with his eyes. “This ain’t no game, y/n. You gotta speak up.”
You collapsed on your office chair, exhausted from the constant lies you’d been trying to convince everyone of for the last 24 hours. You could feel the hard metal of the gun behind your back as it lay stagnant in your jacket over the chair. You placed your head on the desk, into your folded arms, in an attempt to hide.
“What the fuck is going on, y/n?”
You spoke into the hiding spot, hoping the shield of your arms would protect you. “If I tell you, Nero. I swear, you can’t tell the Club. Not Jax. Not anybody.” You lifted your head from the safety net you’d made yourself, watching for his reaction. You weren’t sure if telling him was a good idea or not, but you knew you weren’t leaving the office without giving him some kind of explanation.
He looked back at you wide-eyed, utterly confused at what could be so bad, so awful that you couldn’t tell The Club or Jax. But he wanted to help, and so he obliged. He walked backwards into the leather couch again, sitting down as he waited for you to confess to whatever you were keeping from him. “Not a word. But only if you talk. Now.”
You lit one of the cigarettes Jax had left in your office from the day before, inhaling the smoke deep into your core, and then you told him everything. You told him about the letter and the call, the demands and the dirt the crew had on SAMCRO. You told him how you had to go meet The Vagos President, now. He sat back down on the couch, contemplating the severity of what you were facing.
“Are you seriously going to meet this prick?”
You nodded to him anxiously, breathing smoke out from your lips. “I’m not letting The Club go down.”
“These aren’t the SONS, y/n”, Nero was shaking his head as he recounted memories of his time dealing with crews in South Cali. “These ain’t men with boundaries.”
“He just wants money. I’ll give him what he wants, and nobody has to get hurt.”
Nero’s head shook at your assumption, “You don’t know that’s what they want, y/n.”
“There’s nothing else he could want. They probably think The Club is making it big here. They just want a piece of that. I’ll give them what they want and then that’s it, nobody has to go to prison.”
“If we just spoke with Jax, he could handle this.”
“No! He will fuck Jax over, Nero!”, you stubbed the cigarette out on the ashtray and stood from your desk, putting your jacket back on. “I’m not risking it. I’m not gonna be the one responsible for them all going away.”
Nero stood from the couch and made his way to the door. “You ain’t thinking right. Jax can handle his own shit. How do you even know you’ll make it out of there? It ain’t beneath them to kidnap a woman.”
“What the fuck choice do I have?”
“I got a choice for you”, Nero dug in his back pocket before extending his arm out to you, offering you his phone. He gestured to you, tilting his jaw upwards, urging you to take it.
Water pooled in your eyes as you declined, shaking your head. Nero looked so worried and his concern had terrified you even more. “I don’t know what they’ve got on The Club but until I find out, I gotta deal with this on my own. It’s the only way to protect him.”
“And who protects you?” He didn’t want a response. He slid his phone in his back pocket as he left the office. “They ain’t the type to cash a cheque either”, he said as he walked away.
“You promised not a word!” You reminded him, as he stomped down the hall. Nero raised his hand up, not once turning back to look at you.
You put the cheque book in your pocket, found your car keys, and made way to your car.
—
It was still daylight as you drove down the highway, exiting for the diner just on the outside of Charming. You had the radio blaring, trying to drown out the coherent thoughts in your head that begged you to turn the car around. You carried on, ignoring your better judgment, and pulled into the diner car park, finding the only empty spot and cutting off the engine. The parking lot was full from the dinner rush, and you checked the time on your dash, noting it was 4pm. You sat there in silence, looking around at the vacant cars beside you, searching for any sign of The President or his crew. You could feel your phone vibrating in your jacket pocket, and you checked the caller ID. Two missed calls from Nero, and one from Jax. You turned off the device, before shoving it in the glovebox. You decided you couldn’t sit there in anticipation anymore, and so you made your way inside the diner, feeling once more for the comfort of your gun, held snug in your jacket pocket.
When you got inside the place was packed, tables of people crowded throughout and waiting staff everywhere. You figured nothing bad could happen in the diner with so many witnesses around.
You found the only empty table at the back of the room, and nestled into the bench, searching once again for your blackmailer. It had been over an hour since his call to Diosa, and you worried you’d made it too late. A waitress approached you with a menu.
“Hi there hunny, my name’s Cora and I’ll be your waitress today. Can I get you a refreshment?”
“I’m actually just waiting on someone.”
She smiled politely back at you, “I’ll come back once they get here.”
As the waitress left your table, you heard the bell of the diner entrance ring, and he strolled in casually, completely alone.
He seemed taller than you had recalled, towering over the tables of families enjoying their meals as he searched the room for you. You had forgotten how overtly handsome he was, and you could’ve found yourself attracted to him if it wasn’t for the creepy, blackmailing, threatening the-love-of-your-life thing he had going on.
His leather cutte draped over the dark shirt that clung tight to his body. He had dark wavy hair that tousled behind his ears, his eyes covered by a thick pair of sunglasses. He was incredibly good looking, yet completely and utterly terrifying. Your eyes never left him. You watched as he looked around the room, scanning the tables before he found you.
As he approached, you could hear the steps of his boots clamping at the tile beneath him. He sat down in front of you, sliding himself along the bench. You had never felt so small and as seen as you had in this moment, face to face with your blackmailer. He smiled at you as he pulled his sunglasses off, placing them on the table. His eyes were the same as you’d recalled in your memory. Black and empty.
“I expected to see more skin.” He spoke with no attempt to hide his disappointment.
You ignored his response to your outfit, and reached into your jacket pocket for the cheque book you’d found earlier. You set it in front of you on the table, hoping to cut to the chase. “How much do you want?”
The President looked at the book and a light chuckle escaped his lips, his perfect teeth gleaming at you. “You think I’m here for your money, little lady?”
A sickening feeling twisted in your gut, as it became clear that Nero had been right.
“What do you want?”
Before he could respond, the waitress approached your table as she’d promised. “Can I get you two started off with some drinks?”
“I won’t be staying, thank you.”
He smiled, amused by the idea of you going anywhere. “I’ll get a coffee. Black.” His eyes never left you as he spoke. The waitress strolled off, leaving you both alone again. The President relaxed back into the bench, one arm laid draped across the top of the chair. He didn’t talk, just watched comfortably as you squirmed under his glare.
You played with the edge of your dress in your fingers beneath the table, trying to hide your anxiety. “What is it you want from us?”
“Does he know you’re here?”
You shook your head.
“Smart girl.”
“I don’t know what you think you’re doing-”, you were interrupted by the waitress placing his coffee down in front of him. “Give me a shout if you need anything else.” He nodded her way as she left.
He stirred the coffee in front of him. “Does your Pres. take no for an answer?”
“How does that-”
He stopped you, “I asked you a question. Does he?”
“What the fuck are you talking about?”
He pushed the cheque book off the table and it fumbled into your lap. “I got all the money I need, sweetheart. I’m here for you.”
“For me?”
“Mhmm.”
You sat there still, dumbfounded at the audacity of this man, the only sound between you two being the stirring of his coffee mug. Nero had been totally right. Suddenly you were giggling, and as he realised you were amused, his face dropped, any charm he had disappearing instantly.
“Let me get this right,” you said, regaining your composure. “You’re threatening the SONS with prison- threatening to rat on The Club to the feds- to get some pussy?”
He sipped the coffee from his mug, staring at you as he drank it.
“Does your Pres take no for an answer?” He repeated, his words trailing slowly as he spoke.
And just like that, it clicked. You had bruised his ego, embarrassed and rejected him in front of the lobby at Diosa, and now he was going to do whatever he had to get what he had wanted. He wasn’t gonna send The Club down because he wanted their cash or guns. He was willing to send The Club down because he wanted you. “My Pres. respects the word no. Can’t say the same about you.”
A smile formed at the corner of his mouth as he spoke, “you’re gonna give me what I want.” His tone was assured and strict, as it was an instruction.
“And if I don’t?”
He pulled a small manilla envelope from his cutte, placing it on the table.
You were really over this guys letters, but your curiosity got the better of you. You pulled the envelope from the table, peering into the contents without removing them. The envelope was filled with a stack of prints. Images of Jax, Opie, Chibs, it was the entire club, talking to a group of men off a roadside in the dark. The images looked like they’d been taken on a long lens camera, zoomed in a little too close. They seemed innocent enough at first, no crime being committed, just casual conversation. As you continued to scan through the photos, your heart began to sink further and further. You flicked deeper into the stack, realising he had concrete evidence of them all, loading crates of guns onto a truck in the dead of night, just outside the South California border.
“You’re gonna give me what I want.” He repeated as he calmly sipped his coffee. “And this time, there ain’t gonna be a no.”
You pushed the photos inside and laid it back on the table, your hand placed firmly above the envelope. You matched his eyes and tone, trying to find a way to suppress your panic at the collateral he had against Jax and The Club. “Just tell me what I can do to make these disappear.”
His mouth pulled into a sadistic smile, before he lingered his fingers up your exposed hand, goosebumps forming under his touch. “You’re gonna let me inside you.”
Of all the fucked up men you had been surrounded by your whole life, this one took the cake.
“You must be joking. That isn’t gonna happen.”
His amusement never waivered, still smirking at you from across the table. He glanced down towards the envelope, bringing your attention to it once more. “How ‘bout you humour me.” His confidence was suffocating, knowing that you had no choice but to consider giving him what he wanted most. You took a deep breath, beginning to actually hypothesise about what doing so would entail.
“How do I know you don’t have thousands of these printed out by now?”
“Guess you gotta trust me.”
“Sure, you're blackmailing me into sitting on your dick and now I’m expected to take your word.”
“You make it sound like I’m not a catch.”
You ignored him, trying not to insult him further as to piss him off. “Fine. Let me humour your ridiculous request. Let’s say I give you what you want.. And then what, this ends? I take these pictures and that’s it? You leave The Club alone?”
“That’s it.”
“And where is this happening? I assume you aren’t gonna fuck me at a diner.”
He finished his coffee, pushing the empty cup to the bottom of the table. He reached under the surface, grasping tightly at the exposed skin of your thigh under your dress.
“I’d take you on this table right here and now.”
As you pulled away from his touch, his smile faded. “So what’s it gonna be?”
You recoiled closer to the edge of the bench, considering running. You glanced down again at the manilla envelope in front of you. You knew deep down you had no choice.
“Out of all the girls in Charming, the ones from Diosa. You really have to do all this to get to me? What would your crew think if they knew you were threatening to take down another Club with the feds for a quick fuck?”
“Why don’t you just take it as a compliment.”
“You’re a sick and twisted fuck, you know that?”
His smile reappeared, enamored at your disdain. “You ain’t seen nothing yet, baby.”
He really wasn’t backing down. This would break Jax, whatever happened, it was going to kill him. You refused to cry in front of this man, forcing the tears building in your eyes from falling.
“Shit makes no sense.”
He relaxed back into the chair, putting his sunglasses over his eyes. “It’s simple, baby. Nobody tells me no.”
You scoffed, “that’s because you don’t give them the option.”
He stood up from the bench, pushing the envelope full of evidence back into his cutte, and tossed a wad of cash down on the table. He held his hand out to you, awaiting your decision.
“Choice is yours. A night with me, or forever without your pretty Pres.”
You sat there still, staring at the hand that urged to take you away. Before Jax, you wouldn’t of needed an ultimatum to go anywhere with this man. But this was different. You had given Jax everything, and you knew he had given you all he could too. Every part of him that wasn’t yours, was intertwined in The Club. Watching that die would tear him to shreds, and you weren’t prepared to let that happen, not when you could prevent it.
So you took The President's hand without another question, and left the diner by his side.
WRATH YOUR TAGS ON THE SWISSALPS??? HOW DARE YOUUUU IM IN SHAMBLES FUCKKKKK IM GONNA KMS IF U DONT WRITE IT PLEASEEEEEEE
LMAO HI DONT DO THAT I GOT U BESTIE
Original post
I got carried away and blacked out and it became 2k, idk what happened either.
Swiss is so inexperienced and very anxious and mountain is the sweetest actually. This is so awkward because these two are dorks so good luck.
Small small mentions of blood but it’s taken as a joke.
It wasn’t long after Swiss was summoned that he truly started to understand the bands dynamic. Day in and day out of watching his pack mates eye each other like a piece of meat, constant touching and flirting and there was many parts of Swiss that yearned to be included in it.
He didn’t feel ready. Half split between feeling left out as the two ghoulettes he came with have been bonded and together since summon, and the other ghouls really seemed to take to them after a couple days anyways. It wasn’t like no one took to him, but he’s never propositioned, desired, at least not in his line of sight. He feels like he would be intruding if he were to say anything. So he waits.
The other half worries partially about being inexperienced. Never used a human body, barely has even touched himself and god he’s probably embarrassing, no one wants to be with someone so inexperienced right?
He continues to think about it. Fuck he practically studies the other ghouls and sex and whatever the fuck they’re doing together because when the time comes he doesn’t want to embarrass himself. He’s genuinely afraid he will just get laughed out of the room if he’s not ready though he’s sure he’s probably acting insane.
Truly Swiss has no clue what to think.
He sits on his bed, tosses a toy around in his hands. Nothing insane, something normal sized since he’s a beginner but he worries about it anyways. Hypothetically he knows where it’s supposed to go but
How?
He has no clue.
“I’ve seen dew take two before” rain smirks “shouldve seen him around me and aether, didn’t know the tight whore could do it!”
Does Swiss need to be able to take two?
He rolls the dildo in his hands again and gulps.
Maybe that’s a lesson for another day.
“Rain talks a big game but you should see how whiny he gets when he’s got a drop of blood in front of his nose. Had him drinking from my wrist the other day, he’d do anything for it” aether laughs
He almost winced hearing about it the first time. Never really considered… that being a part of things but ….. he can accept it if he has to, if that’s what the others want.
Swiss is probably getting ahead of himself.
He takes a deep breath and lays down in his bed, just stares at the toy in question because he really isn’t sure what to do with it. There’s no question of what he has to do but he doesn’t understand.
There’s a point where Swiss just decides to rip the bandaid off, reaches between his hiked up legs and pushes it into the tight ring of muscle.
It hurts, burns, doesn’t go in more than a millimeter and he thinks he’s probably fucked it up somehow or maybe he’s just awful or whatever other reason but he decides to simply give up for the night. The worries left to eat at him for the next day.
The morning is really no better for his mind. Stands at the kitchen counter lost in thought before anyone else comes in, the boisterous laughter breaking him out of his anxiety induced trance.
“Feeling ok sunbeam?” Mountain gives him a worried look, standing next to him to lean on the marble.
“Yeah! Didn’t sleep well, I’m fine”
“Well if you ever want help sleeping just let me know” mountain winks at him.
Was that?
It couldn’t be. Right?
Did mountain just finally proposition to fuck him?
He can’t say no. He’s come too far and wanted it too bad so he has to go to his room tonight right?
Questions race around Swiss’ brain. He’s the bottom right? Mountain is like a foot taller than him so that has to be it? But what if he that’s not correct and mountain gets offended? What if the rest of the pack hears and hates him? What if-
He desperately needs his brain to shut the fuck up.
The hours pass like molasses. Swiss swears every time he checks his watch after he’s sure it’s been an hour it’s really only been 10 minutes.
What time is he even supposed to go up there?
God he wishes more than anything he could stop this anxiety.
Swiss decides around 10 pm is good. Late enough for a reasonable bedtime but early enough he knows mountain won’t actually be asleep.
Mountain is shirtless, wearing low grey sweatpants when he answers the door. Swiss thinks he may be drooling but attempts to collect himself enough to speak.
“Didn’t think you’d actually come up here, been waiting for you to come to one of us sunbeam” mountain chuckles and motions through the open door to invite him in.
“Been waiting for you myself, hard to ignore such a big guy like you” Swiss pushes himself against mountain. He’s heard in pornos that men like to be called big. That was right to say, right?
“Didn’t know you were so eager” mountain smiles and lightly shoves Swiss onto the bed, straddling his small waist against the sheets.
“Course I’m eager, been waiting for this for ages, want to drink the blood from your wrist” Swiss winks.
Mountain sits up, “what?” He looks at him confused.
Did Swiss do it wrong? Aether made it seem like that was normal….
“I- um …. Yeah, want you to fuck me stupid, make me your whore?” He loses all confidence to his voice, looks scared to even say it and the concerned expression on mountains faces turns to laughter. So he really did fuck it up huh.
“Swiss…… have you done this before?” Mountain gets out between laughs.
Swiss should probably get up, leave with his tail between his legs and god he’s going to be laughed of the band for this,
“No… I’m sorry I ruined it I’ll go-“
“No! You don’t have to do that. Didn’t expect you to know.” Mountain smiles at him “come here, can I teach you? You sure you want this?”
A large hand caresses Swiss’s waist. Mountain moves him against the pillows, studying his language for any sign of hesitation or regret.
“Please” Swiss mumbles
It’s cute to watch him suddenly so shy, came in like a speeding bullet but now can’t look mountain in the eye.
“How much do you know? Have you ever touched yourself sunbeam?” Oh the tone to mountains voice should not be turning Swiss on but god it’s deep and gravely and yeah Swiss definitely may be desperate.
“No.. I tried but I don’t … know how? I’m sorry-“
“Don’t apologize, you’re ok, you’re safe here”
Swiss does feel safe. Safe enough to let mountain undress him, gently lift his shirt over his head and unbutton his pants.
“I’m going to touch you, alright? Tell me immediately if you start to feel strange” mountain caresses his cheek, staring into his warm brown eyes before reaching down for his hardening cock. It doesn’t take much for it to stiffen up fully, just a couple of touches and Swiss is hard against his stomach, still watching for mountains next move.
“There we go, gonna move your knees up. Is it ok if I put my fingers in you? Need to stretch you out if you still want me to fuck you”
Swiss just nods in agreement, bites his lip in favor of speaking and watches as mountain pours some kind of thick liquid onto his fingers.
“Just lube, it’s going to help”
It feels weird at first, more like some kind of intrusion than any mind numbing pleasure he’s heard about it. Swiss moans anyways, doesn’t want to hurt mountains feelings if it’s really supposed to feel good.
“Swiss…. It’s ok it’s not supposed to feel good yet, you don’t have to fake it for me” mountain laughs at the multi ghouls rapidly reddening face
“Besides, you won’t have to fake it here soon”
It’s embarrassing that a drop of pre bubbles at his tip just from that sentence. Mountains smile doesn’t drop, only a little cocky from the situation.
After three fingers mountain starts to push deeper, rolling them up instead of scissoring and-
Oh.
Swiss nearly yelps, vision blurs and jumps off the bed when mountain hits something inside of him.
“There you go, did you like that?” He laughs. God he needs mountain to stop laughing at him, needs his cock to stop jumping at his laughter too.
“Think you’re ready? Still ok?”
“Please” Swiss whines
The first inch feels wrong again. Nothing like when he did it the other night but mountain is much bigger than his toy and it honestly feels like it may be too much. He holds his breath, the stretch knocking the air from his lungs anyways but he grips the sheets and waits for mountain to sink the rest of the way in.
It’s overly slow, mountain being overly caring as always but he can feel every inch carve its way into him and he just waist for mountain to be down so he can collect himself.
“You’re ok, promise I’ll make you feel so good alright? You’re doing so well”
Swiss mentally notes the way his words make him see stars. That’s a kink to deal with another day.
“Gonna move ok?”
The outward thrust feels like it takes years, before mountain quickly moves back in him, trying to loosen him up before really taking him and mountain deserves an award in patience for being able to control himself for so long with Swiss so hot and tight around him.
“Fuck mount- feels- mountain-” Swiss gasps once mountain gets to pace. Eyes closed tight and mouth agape. Soft moans and whimpers escaping his lips and Swiss throws his hand over his mouth to attempt to silence himself.
Mountain quickly grabs his wrists, holding them above his head, “wanna hear you, wanna hear what I’m doing to you, fuck- Swiss want you to be loud for me”
A hot pit forms in Swiss’s stomach, burns in his abdomen and has his eyes crossing with the feeling,
“Mountain- I think I’m getting close I- please i think I’m going to-“ Swiss doesn’t even get the sentence out before he’s spilling hot and thick all over his stomach.
“There you go, fuck Swiss, so good feel so fucking good wrapped around me”
Mountain cums not moments later, pulls out and jacks himself onto the sheets as to not be ungentleman like for Swiss’s first time.
“Feeling alright Swiss?”
“Holy fucking shit I get it now”
Wanda Maximoff x Reader (High School AU)
You were, by all cases, a nerd but not in the eyes of your amazing girlfriend, Wanda Maximoff. The most popular witch at Avengers High, she loved everything about you. And in return, you love her for everything that lies in her heart.
Wanda approached you after school one day, a pamphlet in hand. Her eyes tell of some mischievous thought. "I know what we're doing this Friday night" she giggles, walking alongside you.
"Oh really?" you look to your girlfriend, "what?"
"We're doing the talent show."
"What? But my talents are writing and Harry Potter trivia."
"Well I'm magical and I need an assistant" she plops a magician hat on your head. "this was my father's, think it'll fit me?"
"It might. What about Pietro?"
"Pietro's too busy pursuing Yelena to help me" Wanda rolls her eyes. "Beside I only want you." She gives you the puppy eyes.
"Oh alright, but i'm not wearing a cocktail dress or swimsuit." you laugh.
"Oh don't worry, detka" she purrs, "that's my outfit." She gives you a little wink
You and Wanda spend the next few days carefully planning out your act for the talent show. Despite having magic as an advantage, Wanda had a natural showmanship.
It's now the night of the talent show and everyone's behind the stage, prepping their acts. You and Wanda walk up with a box of magic tricks. Wanda looks to you while you can't keep your eyes off her. She chose to wear a scarlet red one piece bathing suit with black pantyhose and red heels.
"You okay, detka?" she teases you.
"you know what your beauty does to me," you answer back. She quickly does a little shake, teasing you further.
You look around and see some of the other students preparing. Natasha stretches before her ballet routine. Yelena prepares her sharpshooting routine. Clint and Kate practice a twin archery routine.
"We got some competition" you whisper in her ear.
"I'm just here to have fun with my detka" Wanda takes your hand. You kiss her knuckles in response.
Tony walks up to you and Wanda, Pepper walks behind him with a clipboard in hand. "You two lovebirds ready?" Tony smirks.
Wanda looks to you and takes a deep breath, "I'm ready"
Tony takes to the stage, the natural emcee that he is. "Welcome to the 63rd Annual Avengers High Talent Show." the crowd of parents and fellow students cheer. "It is my honor to welcome our first act to the stage: Wanda Maximoff and (Y/N)(L/N)."
Everyone claps as Wanda conjures a cloud of red smoke, you and her appear in the disappearing mist a second later.
"How'd you do that?" you say, following Wanda's little script.
"Magic. I have been called the Scarlet Witch after all" she slyly responds. She throws her hat up and a dove flies out of the hat.
"No rabbit?" you say your line.
"I'm not pulling a hat out of rabbit" she says, "I'm Wanda Maximoff and this is my assistant Y/N, and we're going to dazzle your mind with feats that you've never seen before"
"You already dazzle my mind" you reply.
Wanda blushes, "as you can see, my assistant is such a flirt."
The audience loved your act. The magic acts, transfiguration, the flirty dialogue that you and Wanda wrote out. It made them laugh, it dazzled them. It was everything that you and Wanda had hoped it would be.
You and Wanda took a bow at the end of your act and took to the back of the stage.
"You're a natural" you give her a kiss on the forehead.
"Thank you for doing this with me, detka" she hugs you tight.
Tony made his way to the stage, envelope and trophy in hand. He took to the stage with the famous Stark smirk. "Well the judges have voted and the winner of the Avengers High Talent show is..." He rips it open and calls out, "Wanda Maximoff!"
The crowd cheers but yet you and her don't come out to the stage. The only thing that comes to the stage is Wanda's magician hat. Wanda's hand pops out of the hat and gestures to the trophy.
The audience laughs. Pietro shakes his head. Tony rolls his eyes and hands the trophy to the hat.
Wanda, backstage and sitting in your lap, pulls the trophy through the hat. She looks at the trophy and then to you.
"Nice trophy. But i got the best prize right here" she whispers before going back to kissing you over and over again.
"What we got, Maximoff, that's the real magic" you kiss her nose, earning a giggle from the young witch.
You hold your girlfriend's waist and share slow, loving kisses with her. Little moans escape her lips as she slips her heels off and wraps them around your own waist.
What else can be said? Wanda Maximoff is quite magical.
✧Love Sick✧
hey guys, this is my first time writing and posting something (kinda nervous lol). I am not a full time writer so I don't write much and won't post a lot. The idea of this piece has been lingering around in my head for a while so I thought I would put it into words :)
Please interact, share and let me know how you guys like it <3
Pairing: Im Changkyun (I.M) x reader
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: none
_________________________________________
You've been friends with Monsta X for about 3 years now. You all love hanging around with each other every now and then. As a singer yourself, you have helped them around in the studio to record their songs.
You always had a thing for Changkyun. The way he acted all soft and flirty around you made you feel things. His aura and voice always made you feel weak. You have always been a huge fan of his rapping and would catch yourself staring at him whenever he would record his rap.
There were times where you wanted him to be your man but you were scared to put your friendship in danger.
Changkyun works a lot and everyone knows it. He would always work on his solo project alongside the group projects.
He was working on a new song to add to his album. He was almost done with his part of the song but he found the song to be incomplete. He was looking for a voice to make it complete. Changkyun always admired your vocals and music and was ready to ask you to feature on his song.
"Hey Y/N, you know i've been working on my album and I am stuck on the last song, Love Sick. I've been searching for a voice to make the track complete and no one fits better than you. I would love to have your voice in it Y/N. Come over to my studio tomorrow and we'll work it out ;)"
This text sent you to cloud nine. You were jumping up and down and giggling like a baby. You were reading the text over and over again and smiling so much that you almost forgot to reply to it. You were in seventh heaven as your dream to collab with kyun was finally coming true.
The next day, you tried to dress up cute as you were going to his studio for the first time, you've only been to the studio they have at starship. It kinda felt like a big deal to you as he never invites anyone to his studio except his hyungs.
You had butterflies in your tummy and kept fidgeting. Just as you reached his studio, you stood at the door took in deep breaths and knocked.
He opened the door and greeted you with a soft smile. He pulled you in for a hug and guided you inside. You have hugged changkyun a lot of times but somehow it felt different today.
Changkyun was telling you about the song but you just couldn't keep your eyes off him. The way his long hair was falling on his face and the usual purple shirt with some sweats never failed to make you flutter.
"....and that's about it, now I just need you to bless this song with your voice", he said insistently. You smiled at his words, "You have no idea how long I have been waiting to make a song with you kyun, believe me today is my day to shine", you said. He laughed at your cuteness and guided you over to the recording booth.
You put on the headphones and drank some water. Changkyun asked you if you were ready to start and you gave him a thumbs up.
You took and breath and started singing your verse.
Changkyun seeing you from the outside lost his mind to your voice, he just couldn't get enough of your soft yet sultry vocals. Hearing those love-filled lyrics made his heart race.
Changkyun stood up from his chair and walked to the booth standing beside you, seeing you sing. You had your eyes closed and were singing your heart out, swaying to the beat.
You got done with your verse and opened your eyes to find him beside you. You let out small gasp and he smiled.
"How was it Changkyun?", you asked him. Rather than replying with words he just took off your headphone and let them hang around your neck, tucked your hair behind your ear and leaned in towards your lips.
"May I?"
Instead of answering him you just took his face towards you and kissed him deep. You snaked your hand into his hair and he held onto your waist. It felt like his kiss was all you ever needed in your life. You couldn't believe what was happening and got lost in the moment. Changkyun explored your mouth and linked his tongue with you. You left feather soft touches on his jaw which made him sigh into your mouth.
He finally let go and you both caught your breath. Your lips were now just as slick and pink as Changkyun's. You blushed and smiled at him.
"Wow, I-, I-, kyun that was-" , you stuttered. Changkyun let out a small laugh and rest his hands at your waist. "I am so glad you feel the same way for me Y/N. I was going to ask you out later today but I just couldn't hold myself back", he confessed. The rush of feelings filled your body and you just stared at him lovingly.
"Changkyun, I like you too, I have liked you since day one", you let out your feelings to him.
Changkyun blushed and gave you a soft peck to your lips and hugged you tightly. The scent of him filled you up and calmed your racing heart. You never wanted to let go of him.
"Do you wanna grab some coffee?", he asked pulling away from you.
You nodded a yes and you both grabbed your coats.
"Wait, what about the song??", you asked while putting on your coat. He smiled and responded, "You can come to my studio anytime you want...babe", he said cheekily and did a wink.
Those words made you punch his chest softly and giggle.
He laughed at your shyness and you both made your way out to the cafe.
This turned out be longer than expected lol. I hope you guys enjoy <3
Stay safe and happy y'all.
HYUNSUK. whenever you were around, this man became even more of a giggly mess than he already was. you’d clicked as soon as you’d met and lately, you’d been hanging out more and more, never getting bored of each other but not quite ready to put a label on your relationship just yet. this particular day, you were hanging out at his studio - his flattering excuse to hang out had been that he needed inspiration for his next song and your presence would give him just that. he’d been working on his song for about five minutes when he turned to you, saying he was unable to concentrate with you around. clearly, he hadn’t tried to keep the charade up for long. you told him you’d try to be as undistracting as possible but he shook his head and said he wanted to spend time with you anyway. and that’s how you found yourself engaged in an aegyo battle with hyunsuk, the goal being to make the other cringe as much as possible. you realized right there how whipped you must’ve been for him, considering his aegyo didn’t make you cringe at all, but rather made him all the more endearing to you. so much adoration for him washed over you that, without thinking, you placed your palms on the sides of his face and pressed a kiss to the top of nose. you quickly pulled away, both of your faces turning a deep shade of red as realization of what you’d just done dawned on you. after three seconds of looking stunned, he fell into an umpteenth burst of giggles and asked with a grin, “what was that, y/n?”. you hid your face in your hands and mumbled that it was nothing. “just ignore it,” you said. “i don’t think i want to ignore it,” he said, a smile still playing on his lips, but the lightheartedness of his tone did nothing to hide the meaning behind his words. you felt your breath hitch in your throat as his eyes drifted down from your eyes to your lips, and this, ladies, gentlemen and non-binaries, is how you had your first kiss with choi hyunsuk.
JIHOON. treasure finally had a day off and jihoon had insisted on taking you out for a shopping date. (when he’d called it that, his usual confident facade had crumbled just a bit and his cheeks had reddened as he finally fully admitted to his intentions with you.) you’d told him to spend the day relaxing at the dorms or with his family, but he’d been adamant on taking you out, promising he’d pay for everything and anything you wanted as a thank you for waiting so long to hang out with him. he took you to a shopping mall in the fancy part of seoul and you had one of the best lunches of your life there - you weren’t sure if the food was just that amazing, or if it was because the boy you were with made everything a thousand times better. after that, you’d strolled from boutique to boutique, you too shy to ask for anything, but him making up for that by constantly handing you a bunch of clothes for you to try on. you grew more and more confident as you tried more outfits on, pretending the changing rooms were your personal runway as jihoon clapped for the outfits he particularly liked - although he found you so pretty, you could wear the most disgusting piece of clothing on earth, he’d still think you were incredibly beautiful. by the end of the day, you had a wardrobe full of new amazing outfits, and you wondered how jihoon still had a cent left in his bank account. you insisted on paying for coffee as if that changed anything, and he’d said it wasn’t necessary but he found it endearing how resolute you were about getting him that latte. as you waited in line to order, you noticed how he was carrying all of your bags without a single complaint, and you were just so grateful for him in that moment that you leaned in and pressed a peck to his cheek, muttering a small ‘thank you’ as you pulled away. as soon as he’d felt your lips, his heart had started beating like crazy, but he didn’t want to lose his cool in front of you so he simply looked down at you and said, “i should take you out more often if this is how you’ll thank me.” let’s just say you went on many, many more dates after that.
YOSHI. after not seeing you for a few weeks, yoshi missed you more than he wanted to admit (even though he’d tell anyone who’d listen just how much he missed you). you knew he was busy with comeback preparations and told him you could wait, but one afternoon, he decided to sneak out of practice, knowing he’d get told off by his leaders and managers but missing you too much to care. he made sure you were actually free that day and told you to meet at your favorite hang-out spot, an underground arcade and food court. his heart was pounding at the idea of seeing you again after such a long time, and when his eyes finally found you, arms crossed as you waited for him at the entrance of the building, a huge grin spread onto his face. you could tell something was different by the way he hugged you when he got to your level - the hug was a bit longer, a bit tighter than usual, and you felt your heart swell when you realized that maybe, just maybe, he liked you the same way you liked him. you pulled away after a few seconds, his arms still around you as you smiled at each other. you did all the things you usually did: compete on the dance game machines (he always won) and on the car racing machines (you always won), then tried to win the other a stuffed toy from the claw machines (neither of you ever did), then ate an unhealthy amount of french fries as you sipped on a strawberry milkshake and he on a vanilla one, even though you always stole a bit from each other, and both ended up with a strawberry-vanilla shake. everything you did was the same as usual - but it felt different. his eyes lingered on your face, his hands found a way to sneak themselves around your waist. when you decided to take a few pictures at the photobooth, he insisted that you sit on his lap rather than side by side like usual, and you did, wrapping your arms around his neck as he held you firmly by the waist. after two shots, you decided to take your courage in your hands and finally do something about this tension between the two of you, so you leaned in to press a kiss on his cheek. but he must’ve felt your stare on him, so just as you leaned in close to him, he turned his face, and your lips ended up on his. you both pulled away at the same time, the photobooth taking a picture of your stunned expressions. however, his shock quickly turned into giddiness as he added another coin to start the booth again, and just as the lights went off, he kissed you on the lips, on purpose this time. “that way, we have pictures of our last seconds as friends and of our first seconds as a couple,” he’d explained afterwards.
JUNKYU. this was another normal day for you and your best friend: just hanging out on his bed, laying in increasingly random but comfortable positions, stalking your old classmates on facebook or watching niche asmr videos for hours and ordering your comfort food when your stomach growls became too loud and painful to ignore. this time, you were separately scrolling through tiktok, only ever talking to show the other something you think they’d like. you stumbled upon a new trend, one where two friends sat together and the one making the tiktok kissed their friend when certain lyrics of the song played, hoping they will kiss them back. you glanced at junkyu - maybe he didn’t know the trend, because the sound coming from your phone hadn’t seemed to catch his attention. it painfully reminded you of just how much you’d been wanting to kiss your best friend immediately. how could you not when he was so adorable? wiping the corner of your lips when you ate messily, the way he laughed when you made stupid jokes, his warm hugs whenever you had to go home; it all made you fall more and more for him, but like any person with feelings for their best friend, you knew it was risky to admit them to him. so you stayed quiet - until that day, at least. you thought, “if he doesn’t want to kiss me, at least i can play it off as doing the trend.” so you sat up and asked him to do the same, sitting at the edge of the bed together. you prompted your phone on one of his shelves, making sure the audio and video were cropped right before you pressed play and ignoring him as he bugged you with questions. “you’ll see, just sit there and uh… listen to the audio. listen carefully, okay?” you instructed quietly. he obediently did as told, an excited expression on his face. when he realized he knew this song and what lyrics came next, a huge grin spread onto his lips, and before he knew it, you were leaning in and kissing him. neither of you knew that the other had been waiting for this exact moment, but he kissed you back instantly, even pulling you back in when you started leaning away and smiling into the whole kiss, the tiktok long forgotten as the music played over and over in the background. long story short, this was how make-out sessions became a thing when you and junkyu, your best-friend-turned-boyfriend, hung out.
MASHIHO. finally back home in japan for a month-long break, mashiho was planning on spending as much time with his family and his friend group from high school, which you just so happened to be in. once upon a time, you and mashiho had been very close. it was very obvious to all of your friends that you liked each other, but neither of you had dared to make a move, scared of damaging your friendship, and before you could gather the courage to confess your feelings, he had been whisked away to south korea to finish his training and debut as a member of treasure. this was the first time you saw him in real life and not on a screen in almost two years, but it only took a couple of days for your feelings to come back as if they had never disappeared in the first place - which they probably hadn’t, anyway. it’d been a week since he’d come back, and you were all hanging out at the basketball court of your old high school at 10 pm after having gone out for dinner. most were playing a game of basketball but you and two of your other friends had decided to hang back, saying you’d eaten too much to move around when you really just couldn’t be asked. mashiho, who was used to destroying absolutely everyone on the court, was of course surprised when his friends were able to stop some of his attacks and shoot perfectly even from afar. they took a small break and you told him how they’d practiced during his absence so that they could finally play an actual game against him without being ridiculed. the smirk on mashiho’s face as he said, “alright then, bring it on,” was very unhealthy for your poor heart who started beating a thousand times a minute, the simple action launching a horde of butterflies in your stomach. you watched the game, and more precisely him, with a lot more attention after that, shouting his name for encouragement and clapping when his team won a point. when he winked and waved at you after landing a shot, you really felt like the girlfriend of an american athlete at one of his college games, and you liked that feeling a little too much. you were so invested in this game that when his team finally won, practically all thanks to him, the adrenaline made you jump up from your seat on the ground to run over to him and press a congratulatory kiss to his cheek. this already made everyone cheer louder than the game did, so imagine just how loud your friends were when mashiho, shaking off his surprise, grinned wider, took you by the waist, and kissed you on the lips.
JAEHYUK. similarly to junkyu, i imagine jaehyuk as being a besties before lovers type of guy, except that he really treats you like his girlfriend but just doesn’t have the guts to actually call you that. he always takes you on ‘hangouts’ that are more like dates, facetimes you at random hours of the day and night, calls you pretty whether you’re dressed up or not; he just does everything right, basically. everything but one thing, which is to make things official, and you’d be lying if you said his behavior didn’t worry a little bit. you’d heard too many stories of girls being led on by their friends who act like boyfriends without the label and then turn around and make her think she’s delusional when she asks them about it. you really doubted jaehyuk could act like that, and in your head the worst-case scenario was that he was just oblivious to what he was doing and thought it normal, even though his friends always told you it was as clear as a sunny day he liked you and was just too scared to make the final move. this was why you had made up your mind that on your next date-like meeting with him, you’d finally gather enough courage for the both of you and act on your feelings, whether that meant straight-up confessing or doing something that couldn’t be seen as ambiguous in terms of where you two stood. it hadn’t even been a couple days since you’d taken this decision when he called you, asking if you were free next sunday, his nearest day off. as always, everything went perfectly, from his compliment on your new outfit, to the diner he’d picked out, to the way he made you laugh and your heart skip a beat. jaehyuk, however, wasn’t the type to flirt just to make you happy, but also so he could hear it back, and so he always found ways to make you compliment him as well - the fun part was to tease him and pretend you hadn’t noticed his new haircut or that you didn’t like his outfit that much just to see him pout and then grin widely when you said you were joking and that, yes, he looked very handsome. “oh yeah? so handsome that you wanna kiss me, i bet?” - this was another one of his favorite lines. you usually dismissed him with a roll of your eyes and told him to shut up, but today, you stayed quiet, thinking this might be your chance. he took your silence as flusteredness and added, “oh my god, you totally wanna kiss m-”, but you effectively interrupted him with a quick peck on the lips, shutting him up for good as you leaned back in your seat and continued eating as if nothing happened. he stared at you blankly, mouth slightly open, and touched his fingers to his lips like the female lead in a kdrama. without a word, he leaned in as you did seconds prior and pecked you just as quickly as you had, making you the shocked one this time. “if you get to do it, i get to do it too,” he said, pouting down at his food. when your gazes found each other, you burst into giggles, and after you calmed down, he very cutely threatened “just wait until it’s the two of us. i’ll show you what a real kiss is.” let’s just say that from that day on, there was no hesitation as to whether you two were just friends or dating (hint: it’s the latter).
ASAHI. no matter how much he liked you, asahi had a tendency to get very immersed into whatever he was doing at the moment and sort of forget about your presence in the room. in his own somewhat awkward words, he’d tried to reassure you that it was just because he felt extremely comfortable around you and didn’t feel the need to keep you entertained, that he was happy when you just chilled together, each of you simply doing their own thing. you were usually fine with it too, happy to just be with him, but this one day, you’d gone over to hang out at his dorm so you could spend actual time chatting and hanging out with him, not just scrolling through social media while he worked on his latest painting. you’d whined about it when he started painting but he told you he’d be done in ten minutes. ten minutes passed, then another ten, and another ten. you’d call out to him every now and then but he’d always repeat the same thing - “i’ll be done soon.” your complaints barely reached his ears, your whines earned a mere chuckle, so when you’d had enough, you’d gotten up and said, “fine, guess i’ll just go hang out with jaehyuk then,” sure that that would get his attention. but he just replied with an unbothered, “sure, he’s probably in the kitchen.” you scoffed at his nonchalance, and decided desperate times called for desperate measures, so you stomped over to where he was sitting and pressed an aggressive kiss on his cheek. this finally got his attention and when he looked at you with a stunned expression, you were scared you’d completely overstepped your boundaries - it wasn’t like you two were actually dating, even though every member and their mom were telling you to. but his face immediately softened as he took in your small frown and pout, realizing he’d been very negligent of you. “i’m sorry, i didn’t mean to upset you. let’s hang out now.” his words already warmed your heart, but when you saw he’d been drawing a picture of you from when you had gone to a park together, you thought you couldn’t get more in love with him. later on, he teased you about your method of getting his attention, but he definitely didn’t complain when you did it again, practically lending you his cheek (because he was too shy to give you his lips) for you to peck.
YEDAM. you realized that bang yedam liked to show off, just a little bit, when he invited you to watch practice at his company building for the fifth time. he liked impressing you with the new intense choreography they’d just learned or with his angelic vocals that never failed to make goosebumps appear on your skin. the members teased him about having ten times more energy when you were around, but your smile and claps as you watched him and the praises you gave him afterwards made it all worth it. he’d liked you since he met you at school - you still remember his trembling hands and his deep blush as he asked you if you wanted to come to his practice for the first time - but seeing you getting along with his members, learning the dance from mashiho, copying hyunsuk’s rap and laughing at asahi’s and jeongwoo’s antics, it all made him like you even more; you fit right in. he asked them what to do about these feelings, and they all advised him that next time he asked you out, it should be just the two of you. yoshi, in all his wisdom, told him that having you over at the company like he usually did was a good idea because it was familiar and comfortable, but that it could be at a time where he practiced individually. doyoung added that he should sing a love song as way of confessing, and everybody groaned at the cheesy idea, but yedam, for some reason, thought it was the greatest, most romantic thing ever and thanked his friend, thumb on his phone already pressing your contact, ready to call and ask you out. you said yes immediately, heart pounding at the idea of it finally being just you two after months of hanging out in groups, whether that was with your friends at school or with his members during practice. when you got there, you talked for a bit, the electric tension in the air making you both feel giddy. he warmed up before he got the song ready and told you to “listen to the lyrics carefully” with a very pointed look. you couldn’t contain your smile as you nodded, excited for whatever he had planned. lo and behold, you had the honor of not only being the first to hear the piano, demo, yedam solo version of the one and only darari, but also of being the inspiration behind the song. when it was over, yedam turned to you with a sheepish smile, asking “did you like it?” and being answered with a chaste kiss to his lips. his hands found your waist as if by instinct and, as he looked up at you with wide eyes and you looked down at him with a huge grin, you replied, “i loved it.”
DOYOUNG. nobody will ever convince me that doyoung doesn’t give the biggest university campus hearthrob vibes. i know this whole post was idol!treasure but just for him i’m gonna make an exception cause… yeah. doyoung is that guy in your really boring class that you only go to because he’s there, even though you never speak to him. all you’ve done is gaze longingly at him and look away abruptly when he catches you staring, so you’re sure he must think you’re crazy until one day when your professor announces a group project in pairs and doyoung swings around on his chair, looking right at you and smiling as if you were friends that already knew they’d partner up. you look around and behind you, trying to see if his smile is actually directed at someone else, but everyone’s already speaking to their partner. when your eyes find doyoung again, he’s already walking towards you, grabbing the empty chair beside you and plopping himself down on it. “wanna do this together?” his smile is blinding and all you can do is nod slowly and mumble out “s-sure.” and that’s how you become friends with doyoung, and how your infatuation with him turns into an ever-growing crush. working on a project together leads to meeting at the library for study dates, leads to taking coffee then lunch breaks, leads to texting random things during the day, leads to inviting each other to parties, leads to hanging out outside of school when the project is over, leads to you being head over heels for him. it doesn’t help that along with being ridiculously handsome, doyoung also happens to be a gentleman who knows your coffee order by heart, is easy to work with, makes you laugh, and flirts with you shamelessly. you’d like to say that after a few weeks, comments such as “you look pretty today, y/n” don’t affect you or that you don’t feel anything when he tucks a strand of hair behind your ear, but that would be the world’s biggest lie. the fated kiss happens at half past midnight on a tuesday during exam season. there was an essay you had completely forgotten about, and you only had twenty hours to do all the reading, come up with a topic, and write it out - the professor didn’t accept extensions, because they were evil. you had briefly told doyoung about this, but you just thought he’d send you a sweet text of support - not that he’d show up at the library, two cups of coffee in hand. “here, they’re both for you. motivation and comfort,” he grinned, placing them on the corner of your table. “oh my god, doyoung, i could kiss you right now,” you breathed, heading straight for your first cup. you almost spat out the coffee when he replied, “then do it.” you don’t know if it was the deliriousness of having been awake for such a long time, or if it was the adrenaline of having to finish an assignment on time, or the fact that he still managed to look good at midnight under the bright yellow fluorescent lights of the library, but you did it. you stood up and pressed your lips firmly against his for a few seconds before pulling away and returning to your essay. your cheeks were burning and you were too shy to look back at him, the realization of what you had just done hitting you. “y/n?” “yeah?” “is that it?” you can feel his gaze burning holes through your head, but still you can’t bring yourself to meet his eyes.”i don’t have time right now. sorry.” a beat passes and you pretend to read a paper, but none of the words on your screen passes. “then will you come to my dorm when you’re done?” another beat. “yeah. okay.” “okay.” he kisses the top of your head and whispers ‘good luck,’ and your cheeks manage to burn even more. you think you might combust right then and there, but at least you have an even better incentive than a good grade to finish this assignment. ok now who would read this if i turned it into a full fic…
HARUTO. the gods of love and fanfiction were on your side when they made you besties with haruto’s sister. he was back in japan for his break, and on his second day home, his sister asked if you could come over for dinner. you usually saw each other every day, if not at school then at each other’s houses or in town, but that hadn’t been possible the day before since it was her brother’s arrival, and she was already having withdrawal symptoms. their parents gladly agreed - you were like a second daughter to them at this point, much like your friend was to you parents. he hadn’t really thought twice about it at first; he remembered you as his sister’s shy friend that smiled a lot but didn’t talk very much. well, you still smiled a lot but were more talkative now; and either you had changed immensely in the year since he’d seen you last, or he just didn’t have that good of a memory, because when he saw you again, he himself grew shy because of how pretty he found you. his cheeks reddened when his parents coddled him or bragged about his achievements, his head hung low in embarrassment when usually he’d have welcomed the compliments with open arms. “gosh, you need to eat more, son! it’s like they don’t feed you over there,” his mom grumbled, scooping a huge portion of rice in his bowl. he wanted to dig a hole in the ground when you giggled at his mom’s antics. he grew more and more comfortable around you as time passed, considering you were over at their house at least three times a week, but he still found himself unable to get a full sentence out while looking you in the eyes. the way he was around you was so different from his usual personality that it was obvious to everyone that he had a crush on you. you found him extremely endearing, but knew there was no point trying to pursue what might be there, since he’d have to leave soon. it was only on his last night home that you gathered enough courage for the both of you. it was late in the night and you were sleeping over at your best friend’s house, but the coffee you had stupidly had at 6pm was keeping you awake. quietly, you walked out of your friend’s bedroom and into the kitchen to get a glass of water, but sound from the living room distracted you. you took a peak in and found haruto on the couch, watching an action anime. he almost had a heart attack when you called out his name, not expecting anyone to be up at this time. “what are you still doing up? shouldn’t you be getting some sleep before you leave?” you asked, sitting down next to him on the couch. if you couldn’t sleep, might as well stay here. “i can never sleep before i go back to korea. i love being there but i just… i hate waking up and knowing today’s the day i leave home.” it surprises him how easily the truth comes out, but it feels nice to put it out there - he doesn’t want to cause his parents sorrow by telling them how much he wants to stay even though he can’t. “you want to make it feel like your time here is longer or something? so you stay up…” you say, looking at the bright colors of the tv. “pretty much, yeah.” you ask him what anime he’s watching and scooch closer to him, letting a comfortable silence fall between you after he’s answered, the only sound in the room coming from the tv. after a couple of episodes, you feel sleep wash over you, and stretch your arms, letting a big yawn out. “going to bed?” haruto asks, pausing when the next episode starts to play, and you nod. “you know, ruto,” you start, and his heart skips a beat at the familiar nickname - it’s a lot nicer when you say it rather than his mom. “it’s normal to feel sad when you leave home. but it’ll still be here, waiting for you to come back.” you smile at him. “i’ll be here too.” you get up, but before you leave the room, you turn back towards you, and lean down to press a soft kiss to his nose, a feature of his you’d always secretly loved. you grin as you watch his face break into surprise, and wish him goodnight, chuckling. “g-goodnight, y/n.”
JEONGWOO. as soon as he’d stepped into the classroom on the first day back to school and saw you there, jeongwoo knew he’d have the fattest crush on you. your carefree laughter as you talked with your friends, the glint in your eyes, the sound of your voice. he liked everything about you immediately, and that feeling only grew as time passed, even though you’d never had a proper conversation. always the class clown despite his idol status, he never failed to bring attention to himself with his funny comments and reactions, yet somehow managed to stay likable and not become that obnoxious guy who doesn’t know yet to stop. but when he was with you, he grew quiet. if you were on the same group, he’d barely look at you, only talking to you when absolutely needed. naturally, you thought he hated you. but when he found out you lived in the same neighborhood as his dorm, he’d shyly asked his manager if he could walk home from school once in a while rather than be driven home, and then he’d shyly asked you if you guys could walk home together, taking you by surprise. rare were the days he actually got out of school at a normal time, but when he did, he always waited outside the classroom door for you, earning him a few whoops from his friends and hushed giggles from yours. the first few times, he stayed pretty quiet, and you almost wondered why he’d asked you in the first place. but soon enough, his more playful side, the one you’d see at school or on t-map episodes (although he didn’t need to know you watched those), started to come out, and he’d talk with you about anything between the earth and the sun. you found yourself agreeing on the same crazy things, making up insane conspiracy theories, going back and forth on a topic no sane human would talk about and each sentence you uttered only adding to the craziness, both of you egging the other on and nodding as if you had unearthed the planet’s wildest truths. when you got to your house, you were so high on the incredible things you and jeongwoo had discovered that you pressed a quick peck to his cheek, thanking him for walking you home. before either of you could realize what you’d just done, you’d already closed the door behind you, leaving a very stunned jeongwoo to stand at your door for a few seconds, two fingers on the spot your lips had blessed his cheek and a smile growing on his face. his hyungs never heard the end of it that evening.
JUNGHWAN. i have no idea what it is about the three youngest members that give me huge ‘shy-when-in-love’ vibes, but junghwan is no exception. it was your last year of high school and even though you were drowning in homework and college applications, your parents had made you get a part-time job to help with the eventual university fees. luckily for you, your mother had a friend whose hairdresser had a cousin that worked at YG entertainment, and could get you a job as a part-time barista in the building café. he just needed to make sure you weren’t completely unqualified and wouldn’t freak out whenever you saw an idol, and it was set. you can’t lie, the first few times a winner or ikon, or worse, blackpink, member walked in, you had to really concentrate to not spill the coffee everywhere out of nerves. but it didn’t take you long to realize they were just regular people craving caffeine like you, and the fact that your coworkers and the company staff were completely unfazed helped as well. treasure, as the newest and most active group of YG, came by a lot, and you were glad to notice they were always friendly and polite with you - your friend who was a huge teume would be enthralled by the information. however, even if they weren’t all talkative extroverts, there was one member who was particularly quiet: junghwan. you thought nothing of it until one day, walking in for the start of your shift, you saw him chatting with the other barista, but as soon as he saw you, he grew quieter, answering in hums and short sentences, glancing at you in what seemed a nervous fashion. since you were a new addition, you chalked it up to him being shy around strangers. but then, he started coming in in the evening, when the café was relatively empty, and sat at a table after ordering rather than just getting his drink and leaving. he got out his homework and would simply work on it for thirty or so minutes, most of the time alone, sometimes with one of the older members. you didn’t say anything, and after a month, he finally talked to you for something else that his coffee order. you placed his drink (always an iced choco) down on his table, and as you were about to walk away, he called out your name. “yeah?” you said, turning around quickly, perhaps too quickly. the fact that he came in at such quiet hours meant that you had much leisure time to do nothing other than stare at him, unbeknownst to him. you knew he was a handsome guy, but being able to observe him so closely made you notice so many of his cute habits, and before you knew it, you were developing a crush. “how do you like it here?” he asked, and that was it. he forgot his homework as you answered his question, which prompted more from him, which prompted more from you. after that, you got into the habit of talking every time he came in, venting about your problems, bonding over shared interests, laughing at cat memes together. more often than not, this resulted in him being late for practice or never getting around to his homework. since you were in the same year level and he didn’t have as much time to study as you did, you also helped him with subjects he struggled with. you’d spent a week going over a history lesson with him, which had started out with him hopeless but he grew more and more confident about the upcoming test, thanks to your help. he had been really nervous about it, so when he barged in the café, a huge grin on his face and graded paper showing a bright red ‘B+’ in hand, you were so proud that you couldn’t help but run to him and take his face in your hands, pressing a firm kiss to his cheek. his eyes grew wide and he looked down at you in disbelief, but before you could run away and hide from what you just did, his grin found its way back to his face and he took you in his arms for the warmest hug you’d ever received. “i couldn’t have done it without you, y/n.”
HER WISH, HIS WISH || YANG JEONGIN
pair : childhoodfriend!jeongin x reader
genre : angst
warning : cursing, rejection, no happy ending
you confess your feelings to your best friend jeongin, but does he like you back?
quick a/n : hi everyone! first time posting on here. i used to be a wattpad writer but due to school and stuff i stopped writing. i just want to write for fun every here and there, so i probably wont post here constantly. sorry! anyways, enjoy :)
everyone wanted you to confess.
all of jeongin's friends knew about your crush on him, and it made you curious if he knew aswell. but clearly, he didnt know, and he was more oblivious then ever. you never really wanted to confess, you found the idea terrifying and you knew that if he didn't reciprocate your feelings, your friendship could be ruined. but his friends still urged you to make your feelings known to him (despite being obviously head over heels for him).
so here you were, sitting on the same couch in his apartment, watching him study. you had told yourself several times before you came over that you would tell him your feelings, despite being scared out of your damn mind. you watched him as he studied, and he looked handsome as always. you couldn't help but blurt out "i like you", like the dumbass you were before covering your mouth.
his gazed turn to you, a bit stunned by your sudden confession, and extremely confused aswell.
"what did you say y/n?"
you didnt know if you wanted to gaslight your crush into thinking you said nothing, run out of there as fast as possible, or genuinely admit the truth (the other 2 options sounded better to you, honestly). but you took a deep breath and decided to confess properly.
"i like you, jeongin. i've liked you for a long time. you've always put a smile on my face and make me feel happy, and i don't know what i would do without you. i've spent hours just thinking about... you, and only you. i really like you, alot."
the room was tense after your confession, a deafening silence that was killing you on the inside. before you heard the words you were dreading to hear. the words that shattered you into pieces when you heard them.
"y/n. i don't feel the same."
the words echoed in your head, the whole situation felt like a nightmare, a horrible one. it was like your whole world came crashing down. you were completely frozen, biting your bottom lip as you supressed the tears that threatened to seep through your eyes and stream down your face. your throat closed up and it seemed like you could curl up into a ball and die right then and there. you nodded slowly, standing up as you were getting ready to leave.
"i understand." you mumbled, grabbing your bag as you turned away from him, walking out of the dorm. you didn't want him to see you cry. he couldn't see you cry. atleast not because of him.
jeongin’s expression became more sad as he processed your reaction. he was unsure to comfort you, since he was the cause of your pain. so he just sat there, silent as you exited. and hearing the door shut just made his heart ache more. he didn’t expect your reaction. but he couldn’t bring himself to go outside. it was as if he couldn’t move. his thoughts racing. he was so conflicted and lost in them.
'why can’t i like her back…?', 'i don’t want her to be sad..', 'why do i feel so guilty?'. that was all that was going through his head as he sat on the couch, frozen.
a moment of silence passed. but the quiet atmosphere was shattered with the sound of jeongin shutting his laptop. he abruptly stood up.
“fuck.”
you were taking a cab back to your apartment, tears rolling down your cheeks as you sniffled silently. "you're an fucking idiot" is all that went through your head. why did you even confess? you ruined everything. that was for sure. your thoughts just kept getting more and more negative until you suddenly got a call from jeongin. knowing that he wanted to probably ask where you were, you were hesitant on picking up. but your heart was stronger than your head, so you picked up.
"y/n! fucking christ.. where are you?" you heard him the other side of the phone, sounding like he was grabbing his keys and his coat to go outside.
"jeongin, i'll be fine. i just need some time alone. if you come and try to make things right, it might turn out worse. please."
you were basically pleading with him, your voice was shaky and tired, trying to rub your tears away.
hearing your voice over the phone, it only made him feel even worse. his heart clenched and a wave of guilt washed over him once more, running his fingers through his hair.
“i-i know i said i didn’t feel the same but… i can’t leave you like this..” he spoke quietly, hesitating. "just tell me where you are.. please?"
you sigh, knowing that arguing with him wouldn't help much.
"in a cab, headed to my apartment."
jeongin listened to the sound of you sighing and he slightly relaxed at the fact that you told him where you were headed.
“okay..” he mumbled, biting his nail. he spoke again in a softer tone of voice. “i’m coming.”
you wince, having a small feeling that this was going to happen.
"please jeongin, can we just talk tomorrow..?"
he let out a shaky exhale. he didn’t want to upset you further, but he was also extremely stubborn.
“please.. i just want to make sure that you’re okay..” he pleaded once more, he truly cared about your well-being.
you groaned.
"goodness... okay, but youre not staying for long, 'kay?"
he smiled to himself, a sense of relief washing over him. it didn’t matter if he was only staying for a few minutes, at least he could see you.
“yeah.. i won’t stay long.”
he reassured you, grabbing his coat, keys and phone, before leaving the apartment.
"see you." he says before hanging up the phone and catching a cab himself to head to your house.
you watched him hang up the phone, running a hand through your hair, groaning. you looked out the window, seeing that you were basically at your apartment now, so you paid the driver as he parked and got out, heading inside to your apartment.
you changed into comfortable clothes as you waited for jeongin to arrive to your apartment, still somewhat crying and your tears stain the baggy white shirt you wore. you sat on the couch, running your fingers through your hair. you suddenly remembered a small conversation the two of you had as little kids.
"what would you do if a genie could grant you three wishes?" you asked jeongin with a toothy smile, sitting on the swings with him on a cold winter day, which was rare in busan.
"genies dont exist..."
"oh shut up! what if they did?"
"i would wish..." jeongin thought about the question for a moment before answering. "to be rich! super duper rich!"
you rolled your eyes with a frown, kicking the snow infront of you.
"thats so boring!!"
"oh yeah? then what would you wish for?"
you paused for a moment, smiling at him again when you had your wish.
"i would wish to be your friend forever! i want to be your friend for as long as possible!"
he laughed and threw a snowball at you. "thats so stupid."
you gasp as he threw the snowball at you, pouting.
"so you dont want to be my friend?? wow.. how mean can you get.."
"i didnt mean it like that! goodness.."
you glared at him, still pouting.
"then what did you mean?"
he smiled at you, sweetly.
"we are gonna be friends no matter what, always and forever. you wouldn't need a wish."
you smiled back at him.
"promise?"
"promise."
you got snapped out of your trance as you heard a knock on the door, rushing to it. after a few seconds, you opened the door to meet jeongin's eyes. you looked tired, and it was definitely obvious you were previously crying from your tear stained shirt.
"come in." you mumbled.
when the door opened and you revealed yourself, his heart ached. your red puffy eyes and tear-stained top were the first things that he noticed. he looked at you with a mix of guilt and sadness.
he slowly walked in, taking off his shoes and coat, setting them aside. without a word, he walked closer to you. jeongin hesitated before pulling you into a tight embrace. his mind was a mess but one thing he knew for sure, he was happy to be close to you right now.
you were extremely tense due to the hug, and you werent sure if this was right. he didnt like you, why was he hugging you, comforting you? you didnt know. so many thoughts were racing through your mind and you couldnt relax.
you wish things were different.
jeongin could feel the tension in your body as he held you. he pulled you closer, gently rubbing your back in an attempt to soothe you.
he closed his eyes, pressing his cheek against your head. he wanted to stay like this for a while. he needed to be close to you. but at the same time, he felt conflicted. like he shouldn’t be doing this since he didn’t feel the same.
he wishes things couldve stayed the same.
after a while, he finally spoke. his voice was soft and gentle. he was still torn but he had to say something.
“i’m.. sorry.. i’m really sorry..” he mumbled, his voice coming out a bit shaky.
"its not your fault that you don't reciprocate my feelings. i shouldn't have confessed in the first place. i should be the one apologizing." you said with a sigh.
jeongin’s heart ached, as you spoke those words. he tightened his embrace around you, not letting go.
“no.. don’t apologize.. please..”
he was trying to hold back the tears, his eyes burning. there was too much going through his mind right now.
he held you tighter against his chest, his hand resting on the back of your head. he couldn’t even look you in the eyes. guilt and sadness filling him.
“you.. you don’t know how much i wish i could like you..” he muttered.
"you cant force yourself to like me to make me happy."
you mumble, rubbing his back reassuringly. as much as you wished he liked you back, you wanted him to be honest more than anything.
he buried his head in the crook of your neck. you were being the reasonable one right now. he was so confused and conflicted about his feelings. why couldn’t he like you? why did it hurt him when he had to reject you?
“then.. why does it hurt me..?” he mumbled, his voice was shaky.
you sigh.
"because we're friends. if i was the reason a friend of mine is crying, it would hurt me aswell, not just them."
you mutter, trying to reason with him and calm him down.
"you didnt mean to hurt me, and it wouldve hurt more if you lied to me. so its better that you told the truth to me."
jeongin closed his eyes, listening to your words. he knew you were right but he couldn’t help but feel guilty and conflicted. he hummed in agreement, holding you tighter. he didn’t know what to do with the whirlwind of emotions inside him. he mumbled once more.
“i don’t want to lose you..”
you wrap your arms around him, hugging him back finally.
"youre not going to lose me anytime soon."
jeongin took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. your presence was comforting and he was grateful for your reassurance. he muttered, keeping his head tucked in your shoulder.
“promise?”
you nodded, hugging him tight.
"promise."
he closed his eyes once again, breathing in your scent. for some reason, he didn’t want to let go. he was supposed to leave after minutes but he wanted to stay for longer. to be near you longer. he gently rested his forehead against your shoulder, feeling your warmth and closeness. the warmth felt so wrong, but so right. after a moment of silence, he spoke, his voice barely above a soft whisper.
“stay like this with me for a few more minutes.. please?”
you sigh, a little hesitant to stay like this longer, knowing your feelings for him still lingered, and this seemed wrong. he knew it just as much as you did. but you hummed in agreement anyways, not pulling away.
jeongin smiled against your shoulder, hearing you agree to let him stay a bit longer. he knew you were probably hesitating due to your feelings for him, but he didn’t want to let go. he needed this, he needed you right now. his grip on your waist tightened slightly, his body pressing against yours. it was as if he wanted to stay like this forever, not caring about the time.
he mumbled as he held you, feeling a wave of sadness wash over him.
“i wish i could like you..”
you sighed again, feeling guilty for liking him.
"its okay."
you mumbled, knowing that you wished the same thing aswell.
your feelings continued to linger for months, a year or two, but he still didn't like you back.
he only realized his feelings for you were clearer than the blue, summer skies when you were gone. when you moved away from busan to start a new life.
the promise was broken.
and sure, the wishes came true. but just like his feelings, they came true much too late.
"she was my wish, the only wish i couldn't make come true."
